Really fucked up that, when they’re young, Patrick and Art are SO tactile with each other, so comfortable sharing the same space. Art lets Patrick touch him and move him and physically overwhelm him and easily acquiesces to it, if not outright enjoys it.

Then in the present, they’ve been so far out of each other’s orbit for so long, held such animosity that when they have their moment alone in the sauna, Art physically recoils from Patrick’s close proximity! It’s so painful to watch because even as Patrick’s goading him, it’s so obvious he wants to be able to get back into Art’s space. But Art has erected all these walls around himself, he refuses to give Patrick an inch or even admit to missing how close they used to be!

AND THEN we see Art and Tashi later and he wants her to hold him, to be gentle with him, and just TOUCH him. Like, he does miss that kind of close physical contact! He either doesn’t know how to ask for it or is uncomfortable being that openly vulnerable. Worth noting that he pretty much always defers to Tashi in regard to initiating physical intimacy (with their first kiss, though he does state his desire, SHE has to be the one to make the first move). And it seems pretty obvious that Tashi herself isn’t comfortable providing that intimacy, whereas Patrick actively seeks to provide it (the hug/forehead kiss after their win together in the early years, dragging the stool closer to him).

Art has tried very hard to act like he doesn’t need physical affection and even though his discipline and devotion to Tashi has made him a stronger tennis player, it’s made him a hollow person, which, in turn, has kept him from becoming a GREAT tennis player.

All of this, of course, is why the ending hits so damn hard.

even more miscellaneous Hazbin Headcanons bc the brainrot is keeping me here

"with the punch of a pentagram, a-wap bap boom! Alakazam~"

Alastor and Lucifer's skins have a layer of fuzz over them that only makes them look smooth -> Alastor is coarser then Lucifer though, feeling like deer skin//hair rather then baby bird fuzz {please don't ask why i've thought about this, i don't even know}

On the other side, Niffty has porcelain smooth skin like a nesting doll

Alastor made Vaggie cry when she was having a bad day and he panicked so hard at making a lady sad that he let her touch his ears to calm down before Charlie found out -> they don't talk about it

Speaking of his ears, Angel Dust referred to them as 'handlebars' once and nearly got bludgeoned by the coffee table Alastor threw at him -> all of the hotel goers had to intervene before he tried again

After Pentious' 'death', Alastor leaves a piece of his coat at his memorial but hides it behind his picture so that no one can tell -> In an AU where he does stay a sinner, Al ends up making a deal with Pentious to fix his microphone {the deal being; if you fix my staff with your surprisingly competent machinery knowledge and keep your mouth shut about it, i'll stop pretending that i don't know you}

Lucifer walks in on Alastor reading with the egg bois one day and just shouts "Stop stealing people's kids!" before turning on his heel and walking back out {he comes back in with his own book}

Lucifer and Vaggie have weekly meet-ups where they eat icecream, watch soaps, and gossip about heaven -> Charlie is just happy they get along

and finally, a self indulgent hc where Alastor notices Husk falls asleep at the bar a lot and, after the events of Mimzy, gets him a card suit patterned pillow that he leaves under the shelf -> Husker doesn't acknowledge it directly, but he does make sure Alastor sees him use it

#art #twisted wonderland #twisted wonderland spoilers #twisted wonderland episode 7 spoilers #twisted wonderland book 7 spoilers #they are truly the most inspiring love story of our generation #though i guess he's not dr. zigvolt since zigvolt is the clan name...#unless he took her name which i absolutely could see. why would you ever not want to be called zigvolt.#this does tie nicely in with my headcanon that sebek's siblings got more of the fae features than he did #and he has a Complex about it #i get the impression that sebek's siblings are much closer in age to each other and also have more of their dad's chill #so sebek is sort of the baby of the family and he's got a Complex about that too #i think a lot about the zigvolt family for characters who have never actually appeared #on the subject of actual canon though #i do actually really appreciate that both sebek and silver each had a little moment of reassuring each other #that this is 400 years ago and also incredibly unfortunate circumstances #and present-day reality lilia and baul love them very much #(i do think sebek is secretly baul's favorite grandkid)#it was just nice to see! especially from sebek! he is sometimes a very thoughtful boy and it's always nice to see that side of him #sebek trying SO hard to get baul to like him though 😭#and lilia being like 'aw i think you're getting kind of fond of him :)'#i love. The more I think about it, the more I think that Persuasion has my favorite premise of all of Jane Austen's novels

Anne Elliot as a character speaks to my soul. She feels tremendous guilt for a decision she made eight years ago. Her life is lonely, as she doesn't really have anyone she can truly confide in despite being surrounded by people. So she swallows her pain, the yearning she feels deep in her soul, and vows that if nothing else at least she'll be helpful.

And of course she is reunited with Frederick Wentworth (the one that got away) who seems to hate her now, and she just keeps going. She keeps being kind and supporting her loved ones while slowly carving out a life for herself. There's something about her classic heroism that just feels so attainable. I don't have Elizabeth Bennett's wit, or Jane Bennett's unwavering belief in the goodness of everyone, or even Elinor's constant composure. But I can be like Anne and just keep moving forward attempting to be helpful

Of course it all works out in the end, and Anne is finally surrounded by people who truly appreciate her, even if she had to wait an extra eight years. Others have observed the fairy tale quality of the ending, and perhaps that's why it speaks to me. The idea that if you just keep doing your best and being kind, you'll eventually find happiness

#Would I say that Persuasion is my favorite of Jane Austen's novels?#I don't think ss #Pride and Prejudice is her most well written in my humble opinion #and i do with persuasion had more characters that were fully interesting individuals #and of course I would love more of an actual period of time where Anne and Wentworth are together in the narrative #since we never see what they're like as a happy couple or before their separation #(unlike Austen's other couples where you can see hints of their dynamic before they're together)#but the premise of persuasion is just so beautiful #persuasion #anne elliot #pride and prejudice #jane austen #cottagecore-raccoon
