Q: What is a prompt meme?
A prompt meme is a challenge where fans can submit one or more fanwork prompts that creators can choose to fill.
Have an idea for a fic/art you’d love to see executed by someone from the fandom? Now is your chance to submit your ideas to the prompt meme!
Q: How long is this running?
Basically... forever! I believe AO3 requires an "end date" to make collections like this searchable, but it won't actually be closed until I close it manually. I will keep it open indefinitely... so in theory you could fill a prompt 10 years from now if you wanted!
Q: How many prompts can I submit?
The max amount AO3 allows per user is 50, so that's what I will set the challenge to allow as well.
Q: Are my prompts anonymous?
Prompts are anonymous by default, but you can choose to de-anon them.
Q: Do I need an AO3 account to submit prompts?
You need an AO3 account to submit prompts. Please contact the mod if you don’t have an AO3 account and we can work something out.
Q: How many prompts can I claim?
As many as you would like!
Q: Are claims anonymous?
Claims are not anonymous.
Q: Can multiple people fill the same prompt?

I'll finish the thirty day meme later, but here's my top six favorite Cdramas I watched in 2023!
Oh No! Here Comes Trouble is Taiwanese, but it’s in Mandarin like the rest, and I want everyone to watch it so I put it on here.
Destined would be right there if not for the last ten eps being a little…. eehhhhh (still recommend though). Till the End of the Moon would also be there of course, but I really can't give it to something that fumbled the bag that badly at the end. It's still the Cdrama I got most invested in after LBFAD though, and I'm still obsessed with it.

Oh my god these are hard to remember without the episodes at hand...
15 - Share your favorite sentence?
I don't remember the exact words but when Changheng takes Xiao Lanhua to Xishan and she talks about how what she knows is that "I love Dongfang Qingcang, that's real" and "Dongfang Qingcang loves me, and that's also real". Because it just highlights how sure she is of that, of how true that relationship is. Feels like foreshadowing for how steadfast she's later. Hope this counts!
16 - Share your favorite dialogue?
Oh, the snowy cave for sure! That short "fight" summarizes the issue with their relationship so perfectly. How even before being "officially" together they already knew where they were going and we're already VERY aware of the conflict of interest.
"I won't betray Shuiyuntian" "Will you betray me?" always breaks my heart.

9) What interesting canon knowledge did you discover that you didn't know before?
This is more what I discovered about the real world referenced in LBFaD, but…cinnabar is a mineral and NOT a spice 🤣
An actual canon detail: the execution room where Xunfeng took the lightning strikes and where XLH confronted DFQC when he was pretending not to love her is a different room from the throne room. Or at least the decor and everything else changes drastically.
20) What's something you learned about yourself while writing for LBFaD?
I had a different answer earlier, but I also learned a lot about my own writing process for longer stories: for example, that even if I outline parts ahead of time, I’ll want to rethink my outline by the time I’m writing the part. It’s still helpful to lay down the overarching outline ahead of time though, even if I make drastic changes to it later.

ohhh boy hate is a strong word but let's say that if I am on the fence bout a show and see that as one of the tags I am closing that tab and not looking back.
i was literally thinking about this yet again a few days ago like "do I actually hate that trope? I feel like I'm missing something, if it's done well maybe it could be good cause I don't like sad endings but they CAN be good so it should go for love triangles too, right?"
but my gosh I dislike them. I can only tolerate them when the main lead clearly has no interest and shows it and/or the pining one knows when to back down. bonus points if they become friends with the couple, thats super wholesome. it might all stem from the fact I don't like big conflict or that I hate seeing characters hurt from unrequited love or (ughhhhh) going out of their way to be annoying. like we could spend that screen time to develop the main relationship or tie some loose ends. no need to see two characters who like each other but don't act on it and then someone else swoops in to become the main lead, no wish to experience someone obsessing over their childhood friend who doesn't know how to establish boundaries, no desire for looking at two guys measuring dicks and being unnecessarily territorial (esp nasty when one of them is civil and the main guy is being a jerk) (this annoyed me in lbfad too and that's arguably one of the best done love triangles)
that being said, I'm sure it's a good trope, I have some beloved character trios who had to go through that arc. for example I did not enjoy it in Light on Me (I knowwww I know I'm the only one) but I didn't hate it in Hometown Cha Cha Cha (sml was a cutie)

oof that's interesting.. rwrb? i suppose it's more fun for fans of the book but i enjoyed it, thought bout Henry for a week and moved on, idk. it was very fun but also made me eyeroll a few times and near the end I was hoping for smth unpredictable to happen
I am thinking of shows I see way too much of on the dash but I realise there are very good reasons for them to be well liked. and it's actually not that they are overhyped - other shows aren't paid the same attention so it looks like these are being paid too much. it's just that we don't hype others as much, that's all. I cant say that shows I don't like as much as others do are overhyped when I can recognise there are objectively good parts of them so I won't list those (although I've got quite a few apparently pft)

10. What fanon fact/s did you make your mind up on while writing for LBFaD?
I'm very fond of the idea that the Moon Queen is a rare thing and that previous Moon Supremes mostly had concubines. I'll get into it more in my fic An Orchid of the Moon once the time comes to reveal more about my headcanons 😉. But I've seen others mention/explore this idea as well, so I'm glad I'm not alone! I think, just like with Moon Supreme, becoming Moon Queen is not a simple thing!
I also like the idea that DFQC (and XLH) were not aware of the Glazed Fire manifesting in DFQC in the final showdown with Tai Sui. Too much was going on! The drama that can cause later is fun.
12. Favourite tropes in your fic/s and why.
Oooh. Well, I like porn for plot reasons (a la medicinal purposes). I think it's fun to put these characters in situations where they have to have sex, especially when DFQC and XLH are at such odds with one another at first.
I also like playing with role reversals, which I haven't had a chance to do much yet with the fics I've published, but I have a couple ideas in mind where DFQC is the one with less "power" than XLH. I think it's fun to see how their dynamic would change and how it'd stay the same. In a similar vein, I like giving characters new origins from their canon counterparts (like making XLH a Moon Tribe flower spirit in An Orchid of the Moon) and seeing how things would change. I have another fic planned that also swaps a character's origin (but I won't say who yet 🤭)
13. Favourite song/s that inspired you?
Begin Again by Purity Ring reminds me of Canglan. Also "Bends" by Carly Rae Jepsen inspired my fic the year of drowning (but I didn't end up using it as a title inspo bc i couldn't find a good line to use)

8. What unexpected character captured your attention as you wrote?
Surprisingly, the Goth prince himself, Xunfeng.
I've been working on a Yun Zhong fic in secret, one which takes place after the end of the show, where he goes to visit his brother at Yunmeng Lake. I wanted a fic that dives into Yun Zhong making reparations to both his brother and to Xiao Lan Hua (as slow as he might be to change, the grumpy old man).
I was told, in no uncertain terms, by Xunfeng, that he is to be in the fic and will be living with Chang Heng and who am I to argue with someone whose wardrobe has more spikes than an echidna's...
18. What was the most challenging part of writing your LBFaD fics?
Well, I'm finishing up a fic for Dieyi right now (besides the several other LBFaD fics I'm working on because can I say no to any of them when they wake me at 2am with a hey, I have an idea...? Nope.), and I actually struggled with her relationship to Ronghao.
The fic is, essentially, her coming to terms with certain truths and ultimately choosing a better path, but. Ahhhh. So hard for me personally, writing about loving someone who doesn't love you back. Cut my heart. Emotionally challenging to write. I had to vent more than once to @tockamybeloved just to work through my issues with Ronghao. It was important to me not to demonise him and I always try to resist taking a lazy route and just making a character 'evil' because it's easier. But ugh. It's been hard.
