Okay the the sculk sensor purring has been on my mind cuz it’s just such a cute idea, and so I finally committed to animating it! Maybe over the summer when I have more time I’ll go back and animate Tanguish breathing softly and helsknight brush through tanguish’s hair, but for now this is what I could do :D the sculk noise kind of sounds more like snoring than purring, but since he’s sleepy I think it works, hope y’all enjoy!

ok executive dysfunction is kind of ruining my life actually

#i have an incredibly time-consuming project i NEED to finish and i genuinely don’t know if i can #i’ve started which is good but i’m horrifically behind where i need to be and i’m just so overwhelmed #i technically have enough time to finish it i think? but it’s my final project so i literally cannot miss this deadline #my professor is really cool + likes me but it’s already been so long w/out me bringing it up #and wtf am i supposed to say? yeah. i WANTED to work on it. i just chose not to????? like wtf #it’s just so humiliating and i’m so behind i don’t know wtf i’m gonna do #it’s worse bc it’s an animation and it’s gg related and i really really wanted this to be good and i wanted things to be different this time #kind of funny bc i’m actually mid getting an adhd diagnosis rn but it’s just so fucking awful because i do this constantly #it fucking sucks so much i feel so helpless and i don’t know wtf is wrong with me. i’m so tired of letting everyone down constantly #it’s so bad rn i literally cannot do anything. it’s humiliating like WHY can’t i just be a functional normal person #it fucking SUCKS because i KNOW if i had any self control or work ethic whatsoever i could be really fucking successful but i don’t. #so i won’t be i guess. #and i KNOW it’s tied into a bunch of different stuff too but like gd i DO NOT care i just want to be functional #worst case scenario i have an A in the class so if i completely blow it i’ll at least pass? hopefully? #i might be able to talk my prof into an extended deadline but it’s so embarrassing bc i didn’t need one in the first place. #i have literally no excuses #it just makes me so upset because i just keep doing this over and over and i don’t know how to stop it or how to get better #and LOL sorry for posting this here i just feel weird talking to anyone personally about this (+ currently avoiding responding to messages!) #it’s just like. man if i can’t get a fucking grip i will literally waste my entire life. Okay, so this looks like this because I needed to animate something that wasn’t going to take four hours- I am going through it right now- and pls imagine this is Mike because that’s technically what I was drawing but with very low effort

#my art #the first ones actually kinda alright #I only have to animate one more thing for my project for class #and it’s much shorter than the first one which took four hours #but I wanted to animate Mike or Will jumping like a little frog #so I did #because it only took me like ten minutes #and I am trying to get over animating six seconds for four hours #it took me four hours. to animate. six. seconds. #I like sketched it out and redid the lines but still #kinda surprised that this was as easy as it was to do though #animation is kinda fun when you’re not trying to speed run it so you don’t fail a class #not a required component either. I just built my whole project on two animated scenes that’ll only be like a tenth of the whole thing #I’m fine

#the thing about me is i really did luck out with a personable curriculum #so like why not #and i got kids who love cars every year maybe some of them will like this example #but also i do also do this with other places #so. if we've ever had a conversation. i have added it into a lesson #I've set kids up to compare our high school system with the french system #I've had kids use how mint grows and made them connect it to their other classes #i never have and never will watch a certain pirate anime because every year i have a kid simply too excited to tell me everything about it #in their project and i know it just wouldn't be the same for them if i actually knew all of it too #anyway if i know you. my students do too. just a little smidge of you anyway. well. my students who were paying attention anyway

as i'm sure you may know by my sideblog @coyotix, i am a warrior cats kid. mainly for the animation yknow i like drawing animals and it helps develop my art style, but it won't stop me from getting involved in the characters and (occasionally good) plotlines. au animatic are fun too.

well you see the problem with being in such a large animation community is that almost every idea has been done before so originality is really tough to pin down. so many times i have gotten a fantastic idea for an animation only to find that like six people have done it already. like it won't stop me from doing it but then i don't feel as original abt it yknow? not a self deprecating thing, it's just a bit disappointing?? if that makes sense??

so it's currently 2:18 am and im listening to music, and chant from hadestown started playing and OH MY GOD i had a fantastic idea for a map with the song, using stories and characters from the broken code arc!! and i was immediately disappointed with myself because it's a well known song and a well known story, so naturally, someone has done it already.

NOBODY HAS DONE IT.

I FOUND A WELL KNOWN SONG WITHIN THE ANIMATION COMMUNITY AND A WELL KNOWN PLOTLINE WITHIN THE WC COMMUNITY.

AND THEY HAVE NOT YET BEEN COMBINED.

Who/what is your biggest inspo for poetry or art?

aagh i dont think i'll ever have one biggest inspo for poetry n art i just have a lot of lads which i like specific things about + those likes are still always ongoing and changing lol (which btw ty for askin bout poetry cause i LOVE it n i never get asked abt poetry hehe)

I have a big ol google doc where i have lines of fav poetry i write down when i come across them (usually when im just scrollin the internets) and atm I've been noticing that a lot of lines i keep enjoying are all by Mary Oliver even tho i've yet to read her collection of poetry!!! so that's on my to-do list C: other poets who's names keep poppin up in that google doc are ocean vuong, richard siken, chen chen and uhh flatsound? they do more music but they've done some spoken word stuff and their songs just feel close enough to the realm of poetry to me u know

Art stuff... lol which medium?? /lh I really like thomas jordan's photography (the COLOURS my DUDE) mmm shelia berger's kinetic sculptures and KICKASS "Bird Show" encaustic paintings (i watched the rlly short like 5 min documentary on her and i was enraptured) Spencer finch has got a lot of cool conceptual art stuff like i think CIE 529 418 (CANDLELIGHT) is rlly cool!! Holly warb and @/vchienart both got some lovely lovely illustrations/paintings with soft beautiful colours... @/emilienunez has some really pretty and elegant yet v cute ceramics!! and @/soonthemoon some really like cute warm n cozy ones... Oof there's so many digital artists i love ;-; and i keep finding new cool lads aghh @catnippackets has such a good grasp on like form n shape if that makes sense?? like drawin people in these rlly fluid poses in like silky lineart aaa i found @milkdudz 's art recently and i LOVE their art style and their cats are just. perfect balance of spiky and soft n very very Cat which is so good @everydaylouie u gotta know louie right ?? how can someone make such lovely 2d and 3d art and music and also know how to code n make lil games. that is too much power for one soul to possess nifty-senpai's art n animations and designs ofc!! are incredible!! and i REALLY love their concepts for what the wc clan territories look like (this moonpool are you kidding me???? gorgeous) @thunderc1an's lineless art style my beloved...... yall clammorin about my lineless art style u GOTTA check out theirs so good (also the everchanging never the same designs for wc characters is so good so freeing so interesting to look at!!) i don't even want to take half my classes that im registered for autumn quarter

#this is just me spitballing here - #definitely need to take the security related classes that i want to do and even if i did dogshit at databases i still want to take the next #-class in the series bc i heard its more programming #also maybe the instructor won't suck that was a huge part of it #and im dropping data science im sorry i can't do algos i can't do machine learning. fuck cs theory im not into that. #but the question now is - do systems (which would give me a leg up in the security track) or do animation capstone (which is cool) #downside of systems is that theyre some of the hardest programming classes and i have to do group projects #downside of animation is that i missed the ball on most of the stuff and its a lot of classes in a sequence. also group projects. #(or neither and fuck off and do the global health minor or take english/art/architecture/philosophy classes just for fun idfk) #the stem major's curse #the last humanities option is looking nice rn maybe i can also take a bunch of public health stuff too #i actually kind of want to enjoy college even if im a commuter with no friends #hm ok i will go look for some classes later today #the data science stuff really screwed me over im glad im free of that at least #milk (normal) #i am kind of the ''mid at everything'' guy so no specialization for me or else i get bored and start attacking myself with hammers #and i change my mind about who i am and my personality every few months so thats really fun to deal with.
