Its really common when you read any romance novel or fanfic, to find a line that says,"His heart skipped a beat." But I have seen actors portraying the emotion only twice in the dramaland.

1)True Beauty: Seojun and Jukyung

The bus stop scene in epi 9 where Seojun sees Jukyung dozing off at the bus stop, he laughs and sits beside her. Soon after, Jukyung's head falls on his shoulder. And with Hwang Inyeop's impeccable acting- the slight movement of his eyebrows and eyeball getting larger, that this was the moment Seojun's heart skipped a beat.

2) Tere Bin: Murtasim and Meerab

Unfortunately, I didn't get the exact GIF for this scene

In episode 20 of this drama, while having a conversation about their situation, Murtasim suddenly felt a twitch in his injured arm and gasped slightly. Upon noticing, Meerab put her hand over his hand and asked if that hurt- initiating a physical contact voluntarily for the very first time. Surprised and astonished Murtasim looked at her in awe. Wahaj Ali's expression for the particular scene was stellar. With him lifting his eyes,gazing at her softly while taking a gulp down his throat it was so clear that his heart skipped a beat.

What is Nooran smoking?

In E43 of Tere Bin, Meerab just blamed Murtasim for abandoning her despite loving her! I know there is no logic left in this show, but Nooran is plunging Meerab to new lows. From the start, Meerab has had zero remorse for her actions. Murtasim was right when he called her out in last week’s episode that she never accepts her faults and blames others. She is quick to judge him as a philanderer and doubt he is having an affair based on him not being home for one night, one night; but is upset when he judged her after seeing her at Rohail’s place. Hypocrisy much. She wants to be respected and revered but won’t offer the same to others. Her anger towards Murtasim is misplaced, she doesn’t feel any guilt of breaking his trust seconds later after he beared his soul to her.

She is not willing to accept her fault for not doing enough due diligence on the guy despite Murtasim’s warnings. She can believe the two day love of Anas, but is blind to the efforts her husband has put into their marriage and all the times he stood by her. She helped his sister elope, faked romance him while hiding that his sister’s lover was in their own house, the guy believed her till he saw an actual video of her helping Mariam elope, she never was honest with him about her actions, and yet he should have listened to her point of view.

The guy went against his own feudalistic mindset and Hitler of a mother to meet the sister’s boyfriend’s family to support Meerab. She refused to believe him when he said the mother was not of good character and the house was a brothrel. Meerab blinded by her false pride and I will fight for every woman’s right to choose her life partner, forgot to do basic risk assessment of the chosen life partner; such was her pride to rebel against forced marriages in the house. Forced marriages are wrong, but so is eloping - which sensible, educated woman supports this nonsense! We all know by now how Nooran’s twisted mind works - Murtasim is going to apologise to Meerab again , he has turned into one doormat who has lost the ability to use his brains. Nooran and Meerab are just peak examples of woke feminism. I haven’t seen a worse written female lead, oh wait there is the passive aggressive Maheer in Mujhe Pyaar Hua Tha.

Why am I still watching Tere Bin 🤷🏻‍♀️, it gives such sadistic pleasure to trash a show! I haven’t hate watched a show in long time! But at the same time I can’t forget that this show introduced me to Wahaj Ali and Murtasim , so am watching it only for him!

I’m convinced that Tere Bin is absolute dope - I know the show is crap but I still watch it , not entire episodes but at least the scenes which star Wahaj and Yumna together. E36 had such lovely scenes of these two together - long after the last time I enjoyed their scenes between E6-E20. It helped that they both looked smashing throughout the episode. Just look at these two gorgeous beings gracing my TV screen every week.

Murtasim went from Haya is like a sister to me like Maryam, to even if Meerab was not there I would never marry you, to stay away from my room else I will kick you out of the house, to you can never replace Meerab in my heart or mind, to I will marry You

Next week’s promo sent the Tere Bin fandom in a collective meltdown on twitter and I can’t stop laughing at how this show manages to stoop to new depths that we couldn’t even imagine it could! Wow I truly haven’t seen a writer destroy the characters , the romance and the love story in the manner that Nooran has destroyed Murtasim, Meerab and Terebin.

I expect WahajAli and YumnaZaidi will read the entire scripts and won’t have blind trust in makers next time 🤣

But then again post E20 I was absolutely convinced Haya is the lead character, not Murtasim or Meerab and Tere Bin is written from her POV. The OST makes absolute sense if you see it from her perspective. Nooran loves Haya, which is why she is the only consistent character on that show. We thought we were watching Murtasim and Meerab’s romance but the real deal was Haya.

We all deserve this for giving any amount of mind space and precious time to this show that has now effectively made my IQ drop to negative levels. Still not watched an entire episode post E20 - but 5 mins each from last 34 episodes have done enough brain damage.

Tere Bin in 45 minutes (Part 1)

Tere Bin is the latest hit Pakistani drama that is currently airing and driving fans to a frenzy. 34 episodes (c35 mins each) so far and this is the most ‘masala’ entertainer you will see. It started off well, but the creators are now dragging it to cash in on the popularity of the leads. The story, characters don’t make sense anymore and logic is non existent. Yet, despite all its pitfalls and failings, I still want you all to watch Wahaj Ali essay Murtasim Khan with all his swag, charisma and style; but I’m also aware that I stand the risk of losing my friendships for making you all watch this dumpster fire. You get my Catch 22 - so here is my summary of Tere Bin in 45mins to spare you the misery of sitting through the entire drama.

The plot:

Tere Bin is the classic taming of the shrew plot + Pak drama plot of cousins being forced to marry (why, why, why 🙄)

Murtasim : The sole heir to the rich feudal family ruling many villages. Hot headed , egoistic and enshrined in the customs and traditions that he has to abide by.

Meerab : His uncle’s daughter who aspires to be a lawyer. More hot headed than Murtasim. She is angry with her birth father and Murtasim’s family for a valid reason (Wikipedia has the whole plot).

The scenes to watch:

These are the best scenes in chronological order that have got me wasting my time on this disaster of a show 😂 but trust me when I say these are the good parts.

1. The scene which made me sit up and notice Wahaj, especially how expressive his eyes were. He realises the pain Meerab is going through. Beautifully shot with a lovely Sufi song in the backdrop.

Marriage happens, but Meerab puts in place a no touch contract till I consent and Murtasim agrees. For all his domineering personality, he does respect her feelings knowing how she has married against her will. But he is slowly falling for her, loves her feisty spirit and is clearly smitten by her beauty.

Rest of the scenes are post marriage where he is turning all soft, flirtatious and romantic with her.

2. Teasing her over ghosts in the villa:

4. Keh bhi nahi sakta aur seh bhi nahi sakta

5. Just being a tease while forgiving her despite her making him eat fish after knowing he is allergic to it (what even 🙄)
