Wide Eyed in Wonder (AKA: Two)
Patton has an unfortunate mishap with some wayward magic. Some chaos and some softness ensue.
A/N: Please read The Long Road Home (Tumblr) (Ao3) before reading this fic! It will make a lot more sense with the context from that work.
You can also read this work on Ao3 if preferred!
I'm doing it I'm posting this!!! I've been messing with it since literally before the first chapter of Long Road Home was *posted*. And I know that if I don't just bite the bullet and *post* it, I'll never stop messing with it. Not that I'm not happy with it!! This has one of my favorite one-liner's I've ever written. I just never stop editing...
As always, please let me know if I missed any tags! I hope you enjoy this very silly piece as much as I enjoyed writing it!

Virgil was still grumbling, wondering why he had been put in the lead when Roman was going on and on about some mysterious fountain that he just had to see, when Patton yelped next to him. The half-fairy had stiffened and fallen backwards, as if something had pushed him over. The party stopped abruptly, Virgil rushing immediately to his fairy’s side.
“Pat? You ok?” he asked softly, kneeling to help him back up if needed.
Patton forced himself back up, bracing with one arm and holding the other to his face. He groaned.
“ ‘M ok. Just a little shocked, I think.” he said, strained. He shook his head as if to clear it, before accepting Virgil’s hand gratefully, and being pulled to his feet.
Upon standing, he immediately stumbled, but quickly righted himself. Virgil could tell the fairy was becoming uncomfortable, watching as he fiddled with the edges of the half-cape that laid over his shoulder.
“Are you ready to continue?” Logan asked, looking like he very much wanted to check Patton for injuries in the meantime. Patton roughly nodded, rubbing his eyes with the heels of his palms, before setting off once more.
Patton made it about two steps before he stumbled again, flailing his arms out and almost slapping Virgil in the process.
"Woah," the mage said, reaching an arm under Patton's to help support him, "You sure you're ok?"
Patton made a face, as if the question was particularly difficult. "I feel… funny." He said finally.
Virgil shuffled him a little closer, noticing the fairy's eyes had gone a little unfocused, tinged red at the corners. What had happened? This time, Logan did come closer, and gently inspected the back of Patton’s head.
“You have no visible injuries. Perhaps you and Virgil should walk closely for a while, in case you continue to feel disoriented.” the scholar said softly. Patton made no motion to acknowledge that Logan had spoken at all, which was extremely weird for him. Patton always acknowledged whoever was speaking, at the very least nodding to signal that he’d heard; a habit long ingrained from his time with the Marquis of Assholes.
Virgil felt Patton start to tremble, just slightly, and as he took another step, he almost seemed to swing his leg, as if it were detached. Virgil had to grab the fairy completely around the chest to keep him from falling flat on his face.
"Hey Ro, need your help." Virgil grunted, and Patton made a hysterical, almost strangled laugh. And yet, at the same time, Patton tilted towards Virgil, as if trying to press the side of his head into Virgil's face. The Prince came carefully from behind the pair, taking a firm but gentle hold of Patton's waist.
"Hello love," Roman said lowly in his ear, "may I pick you up?" The fairy leaned into his touch easily, and nodded. And yet, as Roman adjusted his hold to lift him from the knees, the fairy squeaked, grabbing desperately at Roman's vest and tucking his face into the prince's chest.
"You're alright, tadpole. I've got you." He murmured into Patton's hair, to which the smaller man hummed and relaxed some in his grip, although he made no move to turn his head back around to the others.
To say Virgil was concerned was an understatement.
Patton was still getting used to them as friends, occasionally allowing Virgil to hold his hand, but never one to initiate, especially outside the safety of their little group. It had taken almost a month for him to so much as look Roman in the eye, let alone accept compliments or physical affection. And yet here he was now. He'd flipped faster than a coin from nervous about the situation to red faced, almost purring at snuggling with Roman while the prince held him; and from the side they could see a light, relaxed smile on his face. Virgil exchanged a nervous glance with Logan's curious one.
"Patton," Logan moved closer, and the fairy hummed again. "May I see you please?" The scholar placed a careful hand on his shoulder, and after a moment he finally seemed to understand what Logan had asked, releasing his grip on Roman's vest and turning his upper body to face the other two.
Whatever had happened had happened fast.
Patton's eyes were lidded, glassy, his whole face and body relaxed. He smiled wider at seeing Logan, and when the scholar reached out to get a closer look at his face, the fairy turned to nuzzle into his palm as well. If it was possible, his blush seemed to grow darker red, flushing to the tips of his ears and maybe even down his shoulders.
What the hell?
Logan brushed a thumb over Patton’s cheek, and the fairy shut his eyes completely for a moment; but when Logan pulled his hand away, Patton pouted, and looked to the scholar as if asking what he had done wrong.
“His pupils are excessively dilated.” Logan said, half to himself. The scholar reached out to cup Patton’s cheek once more, and the fairy hummed happily, turning his face into the touch.
“Did we step in something?” Virgil asked, watching Patton’s strange behavior from a distance.
Roman was scanning the area over their heads, when suddenly his eyes widened.
“Virgil, those red flowers in the underbrush. Just next to you. Be careful.” he said lowly.
Virgil looked down where Roman was indicating, and sure enough, there were blood red poppy flowers peeking out. But that wasn’t the worst part.
The flowers were carefully arranged; they’d almost stepped right into a fairy ring. The fastest way into the FaeWilds with absolutely no way back. There were two that lay crumpled, having been crushed under Patton’s foot as he walked.
Logan reached his other hand out to Virgil, who took it and stepped carefully away from the deceivingly innocent flowers. The three moved back carefully, scanning through the underbrush again.
Patton whined at being deprived of Logan’s hand once again, which Roman tried to soothe by bringing the half-fairy’s face back to his chest, muttering, “Hush, tadpole. It’s alright.” There was a long pause between the three, staring at the circle.
“We should get moving,” Virgil said finally, “in case whoever left this here comes back.”
----------
Logan only had one working theory as to where Patton’s odd behavior had suddenly come from.
A fairy of sufficient power could, theoretically, disrupt whatever spells had been laid on a given fairy ring; the ring was only as strong as the fairy who planted it. And Patton, though reserved about his powers at the best of times, clearly had significant magical ability, especially for being only half-blooded. He’d been slowly gaining confidence and control with Virgil’s help (and the help of other mages they encountered in their travels); even in the early stages of his training, it was becoming more and more apparent to Logan that whomever had been his fae parent, they had to be of incredibly high rank.
So it was entirely possible that, when he had stepped on the flowers forming the circle, Patton had effectively snuffed out the magic there entirely, without even being aware of doing so. And, because he’d been connected to the ring for those few seconds before being thrown backwards by the release of excess magic, he’d absorbed some of it.
To put it in terms Roman would understand, Patton was Magic-Drunk.
Now, Patton walking of his own power back to their camp was entirely out of the question; both because it was clear his sense of balance had been all but obliterated, and because any attempt of Roman's to put him down only elicited upset whining, and that same incredibly broken face that tugged at even Logan's firm heartstrings.
As if Roman were going to abandon him in the woods forever, not just adjust his backpack.
At the same time, Virgil's nervous hovering only increased with each minute. He alternated between frantically scanning the woods around them for assailants and checking up on Patton. It was almost dizzying to watch, and yet also moderately adorable.
Perhaps Logan would admit to being the slightest bit envious of the pair's relationship. Virgil was the only one of their group with whom Patton would allow himself to completely relax, though he was slowly but surely becoming comfortable with Roman and Logan himself. It was slow-going, but well worth the effort.
And yet, here they were, walking through the woods back towards camp, the half-fairy snuggled comfortably into Roman's arms and occasionally softly swinging his feet. Virgil running a gentle hand over his hair every time the mage turned back to check on him.
They were, perhaps, two-thirds of the way back when Logan felt eyes on him; and sure enough, when he looked over, Patton's widened eyes were fixed solely on the scholar, peeking halfway out from his position tucked into Roman's chest. Logan couldn't control the smile that broke out on his face; whether it was from fondness or nervousness at being stared at, he couldn't be sure.
The fairy's face didn't change, however; Patton continued unabashedly staring, as if Logan was suddenly the most fascinating thing in the vicinity.
Really, Logan couldn't help himself.
He ambled closer to Roman, reached over, and softly poked Patton's nose. Just as he'd seen Virgil do, dozens of times previous.
Patton made no sound, but his mouth opened, just a touch, and his eyes crossed to their extremes while trying to look at his nose where Logan's hand had been.
Roman, who had been watching the scene, snickered at the fairy's actions, angling his head down and pressing a light kiss into his hair. The noise then prompted Virgil to turn back, and upon seeing Patton's face broke into his own fond smile.
"What did you do to him?" Virgil asked softly, moving closer to Roman so that their company was now tightly packed against the unaware fairy. The mage waved a hand in front of Patton's face, which at the very least righted the position of his eyes.
"I did nothing." Logan said with a casual smile. "I merely tested a display of physical affection that I have seen you employ several times." The scholar then demonstrated by poking Patton's nose again, this time causing the poor fairy to cross his eyes and slightly tilt his head.
Virgil chuckled as he spoke, "Aww, Pat." He waved a hand once more in Patton's face to refocus his eyes, and it seemed that Patton had tired of the game as he blinked a few times before leaning his head back against Roman with his eyes now shut. "Nothin's goin' on in there right now, is there buddy?"
Virgil smiled fondly anyway, and ruffled Patton's hair for the fifth time that hour.
"Never fear!" Roman said, his voice lowered but tone still excited. "I'm sure we can take excellent care of our dear cupcake in the meantime." The prince adjusted his hold slightly, prompting Patton to curl inwards once more. "With my luck, he probably just needs some time to sleep it off."
----------
Virgil was really reaching his emotional limit today. First the fear of Patton stepping on a fairy ring, then the fear of  what the hell happened,  and  now  having no idea when it would wear off.
And Patton's face,  every time Roman tried to set him down. It pulled on Virgil's heart worse than seeing him in the stockade.
They definitely couldn't leave him alone in the carriage or in the tent; if he couldn't see at least one of them, Patton would bury his face in his knees and just shudder with silent crying, and it had taken almost two hours before Roman had managed to coax a few words out of him. He was scared they were going to leave.
They'd propped Patton up at first in one of the bed rolls, and the fairy had watched with a downright creepy silence as the three worked around him. Then Roman had gotten the idea of setting the fairy a little higher, and strung up a (thankfully well secured) makeshift hammock for him to sit in.
Now Patton could see the whole camp, and they'd given him a blanket and pillow in the hopes that he would go to sleep, and maybe be back to normal.
Four and a half hours and counting, and Patton was still higher than a kite.
It was Virgil's turn to sit with him; they'd been rotating every fifteen minutes or so, so everyone could get a chance at getting work done. The mage was just chattering away about anything he could think of, his left arm going numb from reaching up to let Patton hold it.
It wasn't until hour five hit that Virgil got an idea.
The sun was still blazing its highest in the sky, Roman and Logan setting up something to eat for lunch, and thankfully Patton didn't protest when Virgil kissed his hand and let go, running off for a minute to the carriage.
No one was allowed inside Patton's backpack except for Virgil. He wore it constantly when they were traveling, refusing to let go, and Virgil had learned early on that everything inside was carefully organized into different pockets.
The fear of someone taking away all of his possessions ran deep; even if there had been a spell in place protecting anything in his room, apparently anything left  outside  the little living space had been fair game. Thankfully, Roman and Logan were graciously understanding of the situation.
Still, Virgil was very careful not to disrupt anything as he unbuckled an inner pocket in the bag where Patton's most precious possessions were hidden. From the safety of the very bottom, even hidden under the bag of the fairy's savings, Virgil fished out his prize.
Patton was testing the ropes of the hammock when Virgil returned, idly swaying his body and producing the slightest swinging motion. Virgil couldn't help the soft smile on his face; Patton would be doing that even if he wasn't a little out of his mind.
"Hey Pat, I got you something." Virgil said, leaning in a little. The fairy tilted his head and hummed; words were pretty hard at the moment. Still, Virgil smiled a little wider as he presented the gift; a tiny stuffed puppy that they had shared when they were still kids, a donation from the village that Patton had snatched up as his prize for being especially good one week, and apparently never given up.
The fairy's face lit up, his smile wide and blinding. The first actual smile he had made since being carried around in Roman's arms. And, Virgil noticed, the very tips of his ears twitched just a hair upwards; the surest bet that Patton was extremely excited about something.
"Pup!" he said, almost in disbelief, and Virgil wondered for a moment if the fairy had forgotten the toy existed while in his present state.
Patton presented his open hands and carefully took the pup, cradling it close to his chest.
"I thought he might help you get some sleep," Virgil said softly, watching as Patton nuzzled the top of the puppy's head. "Since he used to be so good at chasing away the bad dreams."
The half-fairy only hummed in response, but that was all Virgil needed for now. While Patton was fixated on the stuffed animal, Virgil very carefully began threading his fingers through his hair, weaving a light spell to make the fairy drowsy.
It took almost instantly; usually Virgil had to work for a few minutes when trying to make Logan or Roman (usually Logan) sleep, and he had to be a lot more sneaky about it. But Patton was already half gone, and to the mage's relief, he was out like a light within seconds.
Logan would probably comment about pushing more into his system when he was already overloaded, but Virgil didn't care if it meant the fairy would sleep. And hopefully wake up normal…
----------
Patton did sleep for several hours, and it was early evening before he woke again.
However, his eyes, and therefore his mental state, seemed unchanged despite the rest; and now he was sitting up in the little hammock he'd been laid in, staring hard at his hands.
At first, Logan thought he might be pondering his family sigil, but as the scholar came closer, the fairy suddenly looked up at him with wide, deeply upset eyes; his dilated pupils almost completely obscuring the iris.
"What's wrong, starlight?" Logan asked, hesitantly using a more affectionate nickname. The words seemed to sail right over Patton's head, however, as he moved both hands and held them up, showing Logan his empty palms.
"Two." The fairy said sadly.
Logan had no idea how to respond to that.
"Yes?" He said, half questioningly, unsure of what to say. It was almost impossible to tell anything that was going on in the fairy's mind at the moment.
His response proved unhelpful, as Patton's eyes became watery, and his lip quivered as he openly, though silently, cried. He moved his hands back, staring down at them.
Well. Time to call for help.
It took some coercion to separate Roman from whatever project he had undertaken in the carriage, but at least Logan's urgency on the matter spurred Virgil into action. The mage spotted his now-sobbing love and immediately moved to his side, kneeling down next to the hammock.
"Hey Pat," he murmured, gently so as not to startle the other. "What's wrong sweetheart?"
Patton neglected to move his head this time, sniffling and repeating the heartbroken "Two," as if that was the answer alone. Virgil took this to mean he wanted to hold hands, but when he reached for both, Patton held them farther away from him, only allowing Virgil to take one.
Ah.
Logan couldn't help the fond smile, although he did try very hard to restrain his laughter. Roman gave the scholar a look, and Logan put a hand behind the Prince's back, moving them both closer to the upset fairy.
Maneuvering himself so that Logan was in between his two currently sober loves, Logan gestured for Roman to take Patton's empty, outstretched hand.
The prince made another face when this seemed to upset Patton even more, but Logan paid him no mind. Instead, the scholar gently took hold of either side of the fairy's face, and bent just slightly to touch their foreheads together.
The tears stopped almost instantly, Patton closing his eyes and seeming to calm, although his breaths were still heavy and watery.
"Easy, starlight. Deep breaths." He said softly, closing his own eyes, running his thumbs tenderly across the apples of Patton's cheeks.
"Hey Lo? Wanna fill us in here?" Virgil asked after a few minutes of silence. Logan smiled once more, brushing noses with Patton and eliciting a hiccup and pleased little hum.
"Our dear heart only has two hands, and there are three of us, creating quite a dilemma indeed." Logan said, fondness and just a touch of sarcasm lacing his words.
Both prince and mage then burst into their own snickering.
Poor Patton would never live this down.

I Can't Believe It | Moxiety
I wanted something sweet - so here we are :)
TW: tooth rotting fluff (or an attempt at it)
_______________________________________________
"I can't believe this is about to happen." Virgil paced back and forth in front of Logan, chewing at the corner of his thumbnail.
"You believe a hundred different scenarios of the lunch line at school, and yet, somehow it's unfathomable to be considering a confession of your love for Patton?" Logans eyebrows crinkled in confusion, adjusting their glasses carefully, as if still searching for an answer to his rhetorical query.
Virgil paused, glaring at him, shifting his weight before clearing his throat. "I've... Never done this before, Logan." He stepped closer. "What-what if Pat says no? I mean I'm nothing like him! I'm like his polar opposite? He's all sunshine and puppies! And-and I'm gloomy and-"
"Kitties?" Logan supplied, earning a pause, Virgil pausing and staring at them as if someone turned him off. Virgil laughed at the response, crossing his arms.
"How'd you get there, genius?" The amusement in his eyes was hidden under faux annoyance.
Logan smiled at that. "You were naming things you liked; Patton likes sunshine, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 puppies." Virgil nodded, waiting for them to elaborate. "And you like gloom and cats, however it did not ryhme, so I used kitties instead."
Virgils shoulders visibly relaxed, the tension in his shoulders melting away, even if only slightly. Virgil nodded in understanding, finally finding rest in his desk chair. Patton would be here soon, wanting to know why Virgil asked him to his house no doubt- and then, Virgil would bring him to his room and break the news. Patton was never one to shame others for their likes and intrests, it was the deciding factor of this visit. No matter what, Patton would understand, he'd be sweet, considerate. It was almost like it was against his nature to wish any ill will on a person.
Logan stood up, the light from the window covered the rooms floor, casting shadows of the furniture, and leaving the room with an orange glow. Grabbing their book bag, they walked to Virgils doorway, flipping on the light before it was too dark to see.
"I promised I would be at family dinner, so I better get going." They stated, turning to look at Virgil before they left. "And Virgil, no matter what, Patton will not ridicule you. I can assure that." Logan hoped they were encouraging to their friend as they crossed the threshold out into the hallway, Virgil just hummed in response, no doubt anxiety eating away in his stomach.
--
"Coming!" Virgil called, trying to remain calm as he made his way to the front door, breathing a few deep breaths before opening it. "Pat, hi!" He opened the door wider, stepping to the side to allow Patton to enter.
Patton's eyes lit up, smiling brightly. "Heya, Virgie!" Patton stepped inside, turning to face Virgil expectantly. It really didn't matter why he was here, as long as he got to hang out with Virgil. Virgil was a sight to behold, his hair messy from his hands running through it every few minutes, his eyes beautifully accentuated by his dark eye shadow, freckles trying to pop out from underneath his pale foundation. Virgil was absolutely adorable.
Virgils eyes darted around nervously, closing the door with trembling hands. He returned the big grin with his own small one. Patton was wearing overalls with a bunch of different patches that the group had bought to give him, a brown T-shirt underneath it, underneath the outer layer- a comfy space jacket that Patton borrowed (stole) from Logan. His glasses rested lopsided on the bridge of his nose, his bright blue orbs staring at Virgil happily- Patton was just the epitome of precious.
"I uh, let's go to my room first." Virgil fidgeted with a loose string on his patched jacket, leading Patton to the bedroom, nerves trying to claw up his throat, threatening to clamp his jaw shut as Patton sat down on his bed.
"Okie dokey, now what?" Patton giggled, hands folding in his lap as he waited patiently for his friend to continue.
Virgil swallowed hard, leg bouncing while he sat in his desk chair. Patton noticed and frowned. "What's wrong?"
Virgil sighed, adjusting the collar of his jacket while he shifted in his seat. "Well, nothings wrong, not really, I just uh.." He trailed off, nerves getting the better of him.
Pattons frown lightened, and he leaned in towards Virgil, carefully assessing him. "You alright there, kiddo?" He softly asked, concern hiding at the edges of his voice.
"Well, it's just- I uh.. Have something to tell you, something that I have wanted to for a real long time." He nervously got out, finally looking Patton in the eye.
Patton smiled reassuringly, a softness in his eyes, a warmth, that made him keep going.
"I-" he took a deep breath. "I have had a crush on you for a while now and I just wanted to let you know." He rushed out, wiping his hands on his ripped jeans, averting his gaze.
Patton stilled in his seat, frozen in shock maybe? Or horror. Honestly it's understandable, one of your closest friends just admitted to having feelings for you and- and that's a make or break type deal, like the weight of a building putting strain on the friendship when he rejects him-
Patton giggled once, unable to stop the fit that followed suit. Subsequently tearing Virgil from his spiral. "Uh.. Pat?" He hesitated, looking over at Patton who was grinning so wide you would think his face would split.
"Im-im sorry Virge, I just- I'm just so 𝙝𝙖𝙥𝙥𝙮! " he responded giddily.
Virgil sunk in his seat, accepted the rejection- wait, happy? He perked up in his seat. "Wait, do you mean-"
"Yes," Patton nodded, pulling Virgil up from his chair. "I've had a crush on you too, Virge." He whispered, locking his arms around Virgils neck loosely. He stared up at the purple haired boy, a grin almost permanently etched into his features. "I've had a crush on you since forever ago." He muttered sweetly, Virgil still wide eyed in his arms.
Finally, Virgil came back to his senses, a blush dusting his cheeks while his arms finally hugged Patton. "I can't believe it." Virgil breathed in disbelief.
Patton got up on his tippy-toes, and pressed a quick kiss to Virgils cheek. "Well, you'll have a lot of time for it to settle in, Virgie, and I'll be here when you do."
Virgil smiled and nodded, looking into Patton's eyes. "Yeah.. I like the sound of that." He whispered, leaning down and placing a small kiss for Patton's nose, earning him a light chuckle.

my roleplay information/application!
hey guyssss, so like i'm kinda desperate for rp partners so i'm just gonna try my luck here and see if any of y'all are interested in rping with me! feel free to read through this information and message me if you are interested!! as long as you meet my requirements, i would love to rp with you!!
basic information
i am 18 (19 in a few weeks) and i'm okay rping with any age, but i will not rp anything relating to nsfw with a minor. not even implied nsfw, it's just very uncomfortable. but if you're 18+, i'll rp anything on this list with you!
i only rp semi-lit/descriptive. this means at least five sentences, detailed responses that aren't just surface level. it's hard to respond to stuff that's lazy, so please please please just put in the effort if you want high quality responses in return!
the fandoms i roleplay are sanders sides, undertale, your turn to die, and omori. i dabble in oc rp, but it's not very common for me since i don't really have many ocs that i like enough to rp with.
my favorite types of roleplay are heavy angst and whump. i love really dark concepts, and it's rare that i won't do something that's dark and angsty. i struggle with concepts that are just fluff because i prefer rps with a lot of conflict and struggle.
my only triggers are constant discussion about body type/comparing body types and descriptive talk of medical needles. other than that i will do literally anything lol.
i am filipino-american, audhd, physically disabled, and i love to incorporate these aspects of my identity into the characters i play. if you don't like that, we probably won't make very good rp partners.
i hate hate HATE poking. please don't remind me of the rp after ten minutes of me not responding. please don't remind me of the rp after ten HOURS of me not responding. i know it exists, i just need time to reply. if you nag me about responding, i probably will wait even longer to reply because it's intimidating.
i love to chat oorp! feel free to leave a silly message, even if it has nothing to do with rp!
scroll all the way to the bottom of the post if you want to see writing examples!! below are just specific tidbits of information pertaining to each fandom i rp!
sanders sides specific information
the main side i love to play is roman. i will always want to play roman in every single tss rp, he's just me, he's my number one homie, my favorite character of all time.
i can also play any of the other sides, but my characterization for them is not as solid as roman.
i don't really like patton in roleplays unless he's a minor character or an antagonist/villain. i am very good at playing patton as a villain, but i don't really like playing him in any other context. i have so many aus where patton is a villain or antagonist, so if that's your jam, you've come to the right place!
i will do mindscape or human aus, i love both!
i am okay with ocs but i will not do canon side x female oc. it just makes me very uncomfortable to ship sides with female characters.
some of my favorite ships are roceit, prinxiety, logince, anaroceit, analogical, intrulogical, and loceit.
the only ships i WILL NOT do are moxiety, royality, moceit, logicality, intruality, and remrom. every other ship, i'm completely okay with.
i love rping as remy or emile picani!!
i have SO MANY IDEAS for this fandom. like literally hundreds of aus. so please message me if you want to rp anything with angst, or drama, or anything like that because i have SO MUCH.
undertale specific information
so fun fact i'm actually kind of bad at undertale rp.
it's not that i'm awful i just don't have a lot of experience, but i'm working on it!
the main characters i like to play are papyrus, undyne, alphys, toriel, asgore, and gaster.
i can also play asriel/flowey, sans, frisk, mettaton, grillby, and chara if necessary.
i am totally fine with ocs, bring them on!
i don't really like rps with the au sans stuff? nothing against it, i just don't really know much about it and in the nicest way possible i don't really care. i prefer to stick with canon and prequel/sequel aus instead of aus that change up the characters' personalities and stuff.
my favorite undertale au of all time is handplates i have so many thoughts about it and i would love to rp it!
i love angsty rps but undertale is actually one of the only fandoms where i love to rp fluff for it. undertale is just such a goofy game and i love emulating that style of humor in rp!
ships i enjoy are soriel, papyton, alphyne, sansby, and whatever the ship name for alphys x gaster is?
the only undertale ships i WILL NOT rp are anything involving the child characters (frisk, chara, asriel, monster kid), and anything that ships undyne with a guy. i'm also not a huge fan of asgore x toriel but i'll do it if you really want me to!
your turn to die specific information
i am so new to rping in this fandom but i really want to anyway!! trust, i know all the lore, i just need some solid experience!
my favorite characters to play are jou, reko, nao, gin, kai, shin, hiyori, and sara.
i will play q-taro, mishima, or alice if necessary!
i am very bad at keiji, i don't think i can play him well.
i love canon and au roleplays equally! i would love to do either way!
i like pretty much all the ships, it would be easier to list ships i don't like.
i don't like any ships that involve the little kids (kanna, gin, hinako), any ships with a huge age gap (especially sara x keiji), and shin x hiyori. it's just...no.
omori specific information
i am very new to the fandom, so please have mercy on me if i get something wrong lol!
my favorite characters to play are kel, hero, aubrey, and mari!
i can play sunny if necessary.
i will not play basil. i actually don't like basil being present in roleplays, he's just a character i personally dislike. i'm fine with him showing up occasionally as a minor character, but i just don't like him being a big part of roleplays.
i will roleplay canon and aus! i love both! but bear in mind i am a bit more hesitant to rp ships in canon, but in aus i have zero reservations!
my favorite ships are anything involving sunny, kel, and aubrey being together, but my number one otp is hero x mari!
the only ships i WILL NOT do are ships that have basil in them, especially basil x sunny or basil x kel. they just don't sit right with me personally.
i don't really know much about the minor characters of the game...i might need a bit of guidance if you want to use a character that isn't a part of the main six! but i am completely fine with it as long as you're okay with me being a bit clueless.

The streets were soft, the dusty sidewalks concealed by powdery snow that made Brooklyn look like a wedding. Roman stepped lightly, wondering how high he would have to hold himself to keep his foot from sinking in the snow, ruining the shiny white blanket that protected his bare feet from the cruel asphalt.
His book remained tucked under his jacket, as if it needed protection from the biting wind. Roman didn’t think it was possible for something that carried such beautiful notions and ideas to be unfeeling, so he acted as though there was a beating heart somewhere between the pages. Nobody had ever told him there wasn’t one, so what was the harm in believing if it made the sky feel brighter, and the air feel warmer, and the world feel more connected?
When he came back to the small, tucked-away alley that he and his brothers were currently living in, he was happy to see a little fire that he could warm himself beside while he opened his new book, aching to see what was inside.
--
"Protect...me?"
Roman was unfamiliar. He was always used to protecting other people. He was tall, graceful and beautiful. Couldn't really throw a punch, but he had a way with his words that could get him absolutely anything he wanted. Including peace. He was used to standing between bullies and victims, seducing with his sweet smile and long eyelashes. Making anybody feel like they've been blessed just looking at him. With his parents always gone, and nobody to hold him during nightmares, Roman had gotten used to holding himself. But now, he just wanted to be protected so badly. He wanted to be truly loved by somebody besides himself.
"Okay..." he whispered, "Okay."
--
"Oh! Do you guys want to go to that restaurant across the street?" Patton asked, "We performed so well tonight, I think we all deserve a treat! Virgil, you hit that syncopation perfectly, and Janus, that riff was amazing! The crowd went wild for us! Drinks will be on me, as long as you all promise not to drink too much. I'll be the designated driver too. What do you say??"
Of course, this invitation was not extended to Logan. Patton didn't even notice Logan in the area, assuming that he was off sweeping the stage or packing up the van. Patton was the one who decided what everybody did, and he usually gave Logan the grease-work like that. He didn't really care very much about Logan, just because Logan wasn't as close to the group. There wasn't that bond of performing show after show, having fans that requested autographs, being followed and gushed over by paparazzi.
Since Logan was never onstage, nobody knew the face or identity of the man who wrote the songs that all these fans were so crazy about. And Patton sort of preferred it that way. He didn't really like the idea of Logan being a face of their band. Unlike Janus and Virgil, Patton wasn't sure how the public eye would recieve Logan. The man wasn't remotely ugly, but he was rather plain-looking. He tended to blend into the background of the rooms he occupied. He wasn't the type of look one would expect to be in a hugely successful band.
All the others had their "niche". Patton was the sweetheart, the nice one, the innocent one. Virgil was the quiet, brooding, mysterious one. And Janus was the charmer, able to seduce anyone with a wink and a smile. What was Logan? He didn't talk very much, he wasn't particularly nice, brooding, or seductive. Patton didn't like that Logan didn't exactly have an archetype. He didn't quite fit in.
--
Roman tilted his head with a polite smile and an appropriate amount of interest as Logan disclosed his name. It was nothing familiar to him, but he did think it was a beautiful-sounding name. He always loved when people's first and last names started with the same letter. It felt like a name out of a fairy-tale when it had that feature.
Listening to what Logan was saying, Roman couldn't help but go red, very embarrassed. He was bad at English, but he certainly wasn't stupid. He could tell that Logan was euphemizing heavily in order to preserve Roman's feelings, which made Roman both embarrassed that Logan felt the need to do this, and honored that Logan cared so much about how he felt. It was a really sweet gesture, honestly.
"You write music too?" he asked, very curious. "I would love to sing a song by you wrote. You will...pay me? Money?"
Roman wondered if Logan was offering him a job, or just wanting to have a jam session as friends and colleagues. He would be happy with either option, but he wanted to manage his expectations there and then, so there would be less awkwardness from false assumptions.
--
Roman looked at it and smiled as he read through the lyrics, his eyes carefully scanning from left to right as he ingested each lyric. His smile only grew.
"It is okay," he said, "I like messy handwriting. It means...it means your brain moves fast, and your hand must hurry to follow. I like this song. I think...I want to sing it. Do you want me to sing here? In front of everyone?"
Roman would definitely be willing to give Logan's song some publicity. And he adored the thrill of singing a song for the first time in front of a whole crowd of people. Roman wasn't the type to get stage fright. The more risky a performance was, the more excited he was to try and execute it. Roman had a bit of a shame deficiency, such was obvious with him singing those lyrics he wrote out loud multiple times.
His eyes were shining with enthusiasm, but also, with gratitude. He was thankful to Logan for the opportunity he had to bring this song to life, this brand new song that no one had ever heard before. The idea that its first breath of auditory life would be coming from Roman's own voice was so romantic that it almost made Roman want to sing it right there and then so he wouldn't have to wait anymore.

roses and blue teddy bears
Pairing: romantic royality; brotherly moxiety
Word count: 1343
cw: just fluff. a lot of it
Summary:
Roman finds his boyfriend waiting for him after his debut in the lead role of a musical. Patton discovers Roman has a question to ask after the graduation ceremony.
or
Two times Patton and Roman gifted each other flowers.
---
fic for day 3 of @royalityweek!! ive been having so much fun writing these, and I kinda fell in love with this verse haha ❤️🩵😊
huge thanks to @ivaryn0 for beta-reading!
prompt: seasons/flowers
There was nothing better than this, Roman thought, as he looked over the crowd. The bright stage lights blurred his vision of the audience, but he still heard the cheers, the applause that set his blood roaring in his veins as he linked arms with his colleagues and took the final bow.
The walk to the dressing room was filled with laughter and the giddy satisfaction that came with the end of a performance. They were already all quite familiar with each other, Roman would say, but goodness if the debut of their show didn’t make them closer.
Carefully, he began to unbutton his suit, feeling the fabric brush his skin as he slipped it off. It felt all too professional, and it’s then that it hit him. He did it. Most times he could barely believe this was real. Roman supposed he’d have Patton to thank for that, convincing him to go to the audition in the first place. Roman chuckled under his breath, he’d lost a lot of faith over years of unlucky streaks.
And now he had one of the lead roles in an up-and-coming musical with a lot of potential. He would be the actor to originate the role on stage.
Like he said, unreal.
Despite all the excitement, changing out of costume was still a tedious process. The adrenaline wore off, after all, and as he rubbed his skin with the makeup wipe, trying to take off the stubborn mascara, he definitely felt it. By the time he was done, he wanted nothing more than to jump into bed.
A few people greeted and congratulated him on the way to the stage door. He was his usual, charming self, of course, but he’d be lying if he said he didn’t rush the interactions a little. When he finally slipped away, he exited the theater with a sigh. Then stopped right in his tracks as he saw who was waiting just by the door.
He’d recognized those flower-embroidered overalls anywhere, along with that peek of black hair.
Patton’s face was almost fully hidden, covered by a bouquet so huge you could spot it from a building. A combo of red and white roses that looked right out of Queen of Heart's garden. It was lovely — and the gesture made Roman’s heart do all sorts of flips in his chest. Patton supported him in every performance, usually spotted somewhere in the first rows, but the fact that he chose to go above and beyond on this one, knowing how much it meant to him?
It made Roman want to kiss him until they ran out of air.
As if he noticed him in the same instant, Patton stuck his head out of the bouquet. He was beaming, bright and beautiful. “Honey! Congrats-”
He just couldn’t help it, Roman practically threw himself at him, wrapping his arms around his shoulders and smiling so wide his cheeks hurt.
“Woah, careful with the flowers,” Patton giggled, moving the arrangement so they didn’t crush it. “Hello sweetie,” he whispered with a smile, coy and teasing. It was like a thread snapped.
Roman surged forward and pulled Patton into a kiss, practically melting when the other reciprocated. It was always like that with Patton, a kiss both warm and sweet, like hot chocolate with cinnamon. The kind that made Roman long to do it over and over again.
“I love you so much,” He breathed out as they pulled apart, and Lord knows the moon-eyed look he must’ve been giving Patton. He couldn’t find it in himself to care too much.
Patton chuckled, all mischievous as he fiddled with the collar of Roman’s button-up. “Well, thank you, honey.”
Huffing, Roman batted at his shoulder, causing Patton to laugh outright. Instantly, he softened.
It was the kind of laughter that sounded just as beautiful and melodic as ringing bells. The kind that made him want to rescind his previous statement on theater because he was certain that there wasn’t a thing in the world that was better than it.
“I love you too,” Patton said. “So much.”
---
Excitement filled the auditorium as everyone geared up to leave the stage. Patton was more than ecstatic, of course, but after listening to speech after speech, he was more than ready to get out of those robes and head to the restaurant and celebrate with his family.
He ran a thumb across the certificate tube as he trailed down the stairs, feeling the leather in his fingertips. That was it, huh? A combined 8 years in the same university and now he had a Veterinary Medicine degree. It was weird to think about. Part of him couldn’t believe he’d really done it.
Patton smiled, holding his diploma tighter. Despite the uncertainty, an overwhelming sense of pride bloomed in his chest. It was like he was floating on air. He’d really done it… he’d be a vet! His dream job since he was 8 and his parents took him and his brother to the zoo. This was real.
It took a few seconds for him to spot his family in the crowd, but when he did, he found them waving with huge smiles on their faces. He was sure he matched that as he ran over, having to step aside a few stray caps. His mother hugged him tight before he could even get a word in, and his father was in a state, sobbing and fussing over Patton as much as he could. They congratulated him, teary-eyed and looking so proud Patton ended up shedding a few tears himself.
Virgil approached him, all stiff and awkward, and he thought his brother would give him one of his usual shoulder pats, but then all of a sudden he was pulled into a hug. One that lasted for a whole 15 seconds, which was quite long — for Virgil. When he pulled away, Patton could’ve sworn he saw tears in the corners of his eyes. He chuckled, but didn’t mention it — Virgil would probably deny it to his grave.
“Is Roman here?” Patton finally asked, after letting his parents snap a few pictures for the photo album. "He’d said he’d come.”
His mother smirked, putting a hand on her hip. “Look around, sweetie.”
Patton tilted his head, but he did so, turning around. What he saw made his eyes widen.
“No way.”
Roman waved at him with a grin, pushing a blue-painted pushcart, of all things. Flowers, light blue and blooming, filled the cart to the brim, along with heart-shaped boxes, chocolate bars, and a teddy bear resting right on top of them. Patton laughed in delight, though it might’ve come off more as a squeal.
“You’re crazy,” he said, eyeing the cart as Roman got closer. “What, is this Valentine’s or something?”
“Only about you, darling.” Roman winked, taking his hand and kissing it in a move that never failed to make Patton blush. “And no, more important than that.
Roman let go of his hand and hugged him tightly.
“Congratulations, my heart, I’m so proud of you.”
Roman had always been one for big gestures, but somehow he still surprised him every time. Patton beamed, feeling so happy he rocked on his feet. When they finally pulled apart, Patton leaned in and pressed a big kiss to Roman’s cheek.
“How did you get this thing in here anyway?” he laughed.
Roman shrugged, smirking like the cat who got the cream. “I have my ways,” he said, falling into silence as he ran a hand through Patton’s hair. He looked thoughtful for a moment, as if nervous all of a sudden, and cleared his throat. “Actually, could you get that plushie for me?”
Patton blinked and reached for the teddy bear. It was incredibly adorable. Made out of blue checkered fabric and with big black eyes. It even had a necklace! A thin golden chain that led down to…
A key?
When Patton looked back at Roman, the other was smiling bright enough to outshine the sun.
“Move in with me?”
---
A/N:
he said yes, by the way ;)
first half takes place about 5 years after they met, while the second half takes place a few months later, after patton has finished veterinary school :>

Moxiety for ship bingo? 👀
Tumblr media
I'm absolutely into this ship. Excellent when there's the need to fluff and it scratches a certain itch for the sunshine/gloomy-grump ship dynamic :3
Half points for "fanon getting them wrong" because I'm not keen on bastard!Virgil erasure. And "only the version of them that lives in my head" for my own personal inclinations that do no adhere to canon.

Virgil could feel flour beneath his nails, the warm dough under his hands, his arms moving automatically in the comforting, repetitive shifts of kneading bread. The bakery was like a second home to him but, more specifically, he loved the kitchen. He loved the whole cafe but the front wasn’t where he belonged— Logan and Janus took care of that— but this world of warmth and sweetness and soft scents, that was his.
It wasn’t that he didn’t like people, they just didn’t seem to click. It seemed like he was always saying the wrong thing at the wrong time or missing some social cue that was apparently obvious to everyone else but invisible to him. No, Virgil loved people and he loved to share what he made with them; it was just a lot lower stress to work behind the scenes.
So he surprised even himself when he agreed to run both the front and the back of the cafe for the night. Maybe it was Logan’s promise that nobody came in on a weekday in the late evening. Maybe it was Janus’ bribe that he would make Virgil an extra special mocha coffee tomorrow. Maybe it was the combined power of their pleading eyes. Whatever the case, Virgil found himself alone in the cafe on a late Wednesday evening, with nothing but his hands and his work for company.
Logan had been right— Virgil hadn’t seen a customer since his shift started at 7:00 and as the time stretched forward, it began to seem less and less likely that some would order a coffee this late at night.
When the door chime ran at 10 pm, Virgil was half-expecting it to be Logan or Janus stopping by to see how he was doing (and probably to steal a jam-filled cookie or two).
Virgil walked into the front of the store to say hello but was instead faced by a stranger. They had a round face with large blue eyes and a mop of curly blond hair sweeping down their forehead— their face wasn’t ringing any bells. But Virgil didn’t really know the customer’s; he knew their orders .
He quirked an eyebrow as went down the list of regular customers this stranger could be and began taking guesses, “A dozen maple doughnut bars?”
“Um, no actually I want—” Their voice was soft but had a gravely quality that bite at the ends of their words. The voice was unfamiliar to Virgil but for some reason, he wanted to hear it more.
“Hmm, a ciabatta loaf and three everything bagels?”
“No… I was hoping you had—”
“Oh, I know! A loaf of rye, a loaf of pumpernickel, and a loaf of sourdough?”
The stranger began laughing. It was a nice laugh, Virgil guessed, but he couldn’t figure out what was so funny. He could feel his cheeks beginning to turn red; he had said something wrong again, hadn’t he?
They stopped laughing long enough to flash Virgil a bright, amused smile, “Are you going to keep guessing the entire night until you get my order right?”
The customer didn’t seem mad, he wasn’t even laughing at Virgil; he was laughing…  because of Virgil? Virgil had made them laugh and that felt very very different than being laughed at. Their laughs ran through the empty little dining area and bounced off the display case, almost entirely empty by this time of day. Their laughs made Virgil feel good, even if he didn’t quite understand what was so funny.
Virgil let himself take another look at the person in front of him. There was a warm, sweet sensation beginning to flutter in his stomach and he wasn’t sure what to do with it.
The customer was cute, no doubt about it. They were wearing large, round-framed glasses, nearly as gold as their hair. Behind the glasses, their eyes were one of the bluest blue Virgil had ever seen— like water drawn in a saturated kid’s cartoon. They were wearing a blue top tucked into a white pleated skirt and white mary-jane shoes. The skirt had attached suspender straps, one of which had a small pin on it. Looking closer, Virgil realized the pin was a small transgender pride flag with the pronouns “he/him” stamped over it. Ok, so the customer was a he ; and he was really, really cute.
Virgil tried to snap his mind back on focus. The man in front of him had stopped laughing but was still looking at him with a soft, somewhat lopsided smile.
Virgil looked down at his hands, feeling like making eye contact with this person was just a little too much right now. He cleared his throat, “So, uh, do you want to order something?”
“No, I actually was just planning on standing here for the rest of the night.”
“Really?” Virgil could feel his eyebrows furrowing together.
“No, no,” He stepped closer to the counter Virgil was behind, “I was just joking, sweetheart.”
Sometimes Virgil had a hard time catching social cues but the way he said “sweetheart” held too much kindness and sincerity for Virgil to miss its meaning. Virgil’s blush grew to a deep crimson.
He walked all the way to the counter so he and Virgil were only a foot apart. Virgil wasn’t sure if he wanted to flirt with him or run away to the kitchen. Somehow, putting a stove fire out seemed easier than talking to this customer.
Virgil shook his hands below the counter, hoping stimming would help release all of the energy and feelings bouncing around in his body. He tried to remember what Logan had told him in case customers did come in; there were specifically steps Logan was very particular about, “Could I get a name for your order?”
“Of course! My name’s Patton!”
God, even his name is cute.
“Your name’s Virgil?”
Virgil glanced down at his name tag as if he needed reminding of what it said. He nodded in confirmation of Patton’s question.
“That’s such a pretty name,” Patton’s smile reminded him of opening an oven door on a cold day, the warmth and sweetness rolling over him in waves. He felt like he was melting.
Patton’s eyes wandered over the menu board, licking his lips absentmindedly as he tried to make a decision. Virgil wished he could stop looking at his lips.
Finally he looked back over at Virgil, “Could I get three muffins—”
“Uh huh,” Virgil nodded as he jotted the words down on the receipt the way Logan had asked him to.
“—and, uh,” Patton leaned forward even a little closer, “Could I get your number?”
Virgil forgot how to talk in that moment, feelings of happiness practically vibrating through him. He wouldn’t be surprised if he just exploded, just nodding his head to answer Patton like his life depended on it.
Virgil moved as if he were in a dream, packaging the muffins as Patton paid. He felt like the planet’s gravity had suddenly been turned down and he was floating a few inches off the ground. He quickly scribbled his phone number on the bag before handing it to Patton.
“Oh! I almost forgot something!”
Virgil quirked an eyebrow at Patton’s exclamation, “You did?”
“Yeah! Your tip for such great service.”
“No, no you already gave a tip. See, it’s on your receipt beneath—”
Virgil froze as Patton leaned forward and planted a kiss on Virgil’s cheek.
“There! Extra tip for being so cute,” Patton gave him that lovely, warm smile before turning with a wave and walking out of the bakery.
Virgil sank to the floor, disregarding whether or not that was a health code violation. He didn’t care about that right now. His face was tingling and his heart was racing and he felt out of breath. He clapped his hands together, happy stims taking over for a moment as he processed the interaction he had just had with the cutest boy he had ever seen. Maybe working in the front of the bakery had its own benefits…
Virgil couldn’t stop smiling.

Plant Killer (Moxiety Oneshot)
Sanders Sides Fanfic
Note: this is 100% fluff. Romantic or platonic, up to you. Also based loosely on a conversation between some of my friends lol. A bit messy, but fun. Enjoy!
Virgil stared at the potted purple plant in Patton’s hands. “Uh... whatcha got there, Popstar?”
Patton beamed and held it out to him. “It’s for you! Figured a bit of life might help with your room,” he said.
Virgil shook his head and backed away a step. “Bad idea. I don’t think so,” he replied. “Look, I appreciate the thought behind it, but my room literally never gets sunlight.”
“Oh! Then you need a UV lamp!” Patton made a light appear. “And that should help you get some vitamin D too! Just turn it on for a few hours and you’ll be good to go!”
Virgil rubbed his face. “Still, I’m not exactly the Side best equipped to keep crap alive.”
“Won’t know until you try it!”
“What if I kill it? I wouldn’t want to ruin your gift.” Virgil fiddled with the aglets of his hoodie, keeping his hands busy so he wouldn’t be tempted to pick up the stupid plant.
Patton placed the plant on a table and put his hands on his hips. “Now, mister, you’re not ruining anything!” he said sternly. “If something happens to it, that’s okay! You can always try again.”
Virgil heaved a sigh. Clearly the fatherly side wouldn’t take no for an answer. “Ugh fine... Thanks, I guess.”
The first few days went by without issue. The plant bloomed by his window under the UV light while he listened to music, hoping the light might actually improve his mood. Sometimes it did. And he had to admit that it was nice to have a spark of color in his gloomy room— not that he’d ever admit to the others.
But of course it couldn’t last. One day Virgil woke up to the plant dead. For no apparent reason. But it did look a bit dried out. Maybe he had forgotten to water it? “Crap.” He sighed and threw it away, hoping that would be the end of it.
It wasn’t.
A little while later, Patton dropped off a succulent. “These are easy to care for, shadowling! They don’t need to be watered as much.”
Virgil drowned it in a week.
Then Patton offered a water lily. “It already has water, so... maybe this’ll work?”
Virgil’s tarantula knocked over the bowl.
Finally, Patton very hesitantly held out a spindly looking plant. “It’s... um... called a spider plant. Maybe you’ll have better luck with this one, kiddo?”
Virgil stared at it, then took it to his room and hung it in a corner, making sure to give it light and water. Somehow it survived. After a few months, Virgil brought it out of his room to show Patton his progress.
“So... uh... I guess this one likes me?” Virgil said with a sheepish smile.
Patton gasped and ran over, scooping him up in a hug. “I’m so proud of you! I’ll get you more and more and it’ll be wonderful!”
Virgil chuckled nervously. “Great....”
And so Virgil ended up with a small army of spider plants hanging next to his spiderwebs. But hey, at least he hadn’t killed them yet.

Aaaaaaaaaaa do you have any fluffy platonic Moxiety headcanons?
of cOURSE- (this might just be a LITTLE angstyyyy)
• so, it's a big headcanon that patton helps virgil through panic attacks, but what if it's the other way around, too?
•patton bottles up his emotions, but always goes to virgil, his sweet dark strange son, for support when he feels he's not smart enough.
•when patton sneaks into virgils room, in tears, virgil immediately goes into action.
• "you wanna talk about it, pop star?"
"that's alright virge, just hug me please,"
• since they are best friends, they have no problem doing platonic cuddles and kisses on the cheek. patton always craved some attention, and what better way to get it from then your best bud and son?
• they also, after their nights of comfort cuddles, ALWAYS make breakfast together. between patton being an early riser and virgil barely sleeping on general, they always are the first to get up.
• in fact, they cook and bake together all the time. patton taught virgil how to make his favorite cookies, oatmeal chocolate chip. sometimes virgil surprises patton with some fresh baked cookies when he's feeling sad.
• just as patton surprised virgil with the endless amounts of love that he gives to his favorite person, virgey.
HEY- HEY YOUU GREAT PERSON- if you want to hear about another ship (headcanons or a full out chapter), just suggest what you want in my ask box: just include the ship, if it's fluff/smut/angst, and what you want the main storyline to be (if you want to be specific). i'm here to write ANY ship (poly ships included!) with ANY topic. if it is smut, please include any kinks you might want.
have a good day beautifuls!

The Long Road Home (Chapter 7)
A/N: I absolutely cannot believe we've made it. Omg. Once again, I have to thank my bestie @thecrowslullaby for lovingly bullying me (l/h) into participating in this Big Bang event. I've never done something even remotely close to this big of a project; I initially signed on thinking that hitting 6k would take the whole writing period. I never could have fathomed the daydream I played out in my free time would turn into my longest-ever fic, not to mention that I would write *sequels* before it was even finished. Also a massive MASSIVE thanks to the incomparable, incredible @purplecrayonismine for not only all of her beautiful artwork, but also (whether she realized it or not) helping me brainstorm, and listening to my endless insecure ranting thinking no one would want to take on my fic or read it when it was finished.
This event has been an absolute dream come true, and I can't wait to do more in the future; both exploring the world I've created and maybe doing a new Big Bang in the future.
Also also, I can't leave out my amazing readers, who have given me the courage to keep going, keep posting, and keep writing. Thank you, each and every one of you, for reading, kudos-ing, and commenting. Please *please* come message me if you have ideas, questions, prompts, anything. I love you all so much. Thank you for joining me on this journey. <3
(PS go check out chapter four to see Glady's beautiful drawing of Patton in his fancy clothes and cape. My promised Worldbuilding Notes will be posted either tomorrow or Monday depending on how much work I have tomorrow)
First Chapter / Previous Chapter / Ao3
-----
Patton’s room was dark, quiet. The last glow of sunset struggled through the window.
It had finally been long enough now to remove the bandages on his shoulders. Logan had (several times) made the offer of spreading the healing salve over his back, but Patton wanted those scars to heal naturally. He wanted the evidence that all of this had been real.
That, despite it all, he had survived.
Virgil was sitting behind him on the bed, carefully working some kind of lotion across the shiny pink skin. His fingers carefully danced around the scabs of deeper wounds that were still peeling. It helped to calm the dryness and itchiness that had only increased since the bandages came off.
Patton’s head hung down, his shoulders limp under Virgil’s hands. It felt good; the mage's fingers worked the tension out from even deep in his muscles. He suspected Virgil had actually been finished with the lotion for a while now, as he rubbed down and just behind Patton’s ribcage, firm enough not to make the fairy squirm.
“You could come with us.” Virgil said lowly, not pausing his ministrations. Patton’s shoulders jumped, just barely, and the mage worked his way back up to relieve the tension once more. When Patton didn’t respond, Virgil continued, “We go everywhere. And we take care of each other.” There was another beat of silence.
“We would take care of you.”
Patton brought his head back up, tilting to one side. He wasn’t ready to look Virgil in the eyes.
“You’re certain I haven’t thoroughly embarrassed myself in front of both of your partners?” he murmured.
Virgil huffed behind him, and Patton chose to believe it was a laugh. “No more than princey embarrasses himself on a weekly basis.”
That did bring a small smile to Patton’s face. The Prince was exuberant and loud, but he had found himself enjoying His Highness’ company. All the eyes in the room were on him, and therefore off Patton.
“I’m sure I’d get in the way more than anything.” he said quietly, hanging his head once again. Virgil merely moved his hands up to rub small circles into the back of Patton’s neck and the sides of his throat.
“I’d ask you to come with us if I had to carry you on my back every day.” Virgil said gently.
Something thick welled up in Patton’s throat, and he felt tears spring to his eyes.
“Why?” he whispered, less a question for Virgil and more a question for himself. But Virgil answered anyway.
“Because I love you.” Virgil leaned over, placing his forehead against Patton’s spine, and moving his hands once more to the fairy’s ribcage.
There was a long silence between them before Patton tried to wipe a tear away with the heel of his palm, hiccuping as he said, “You shouldn’t.”
That made Virgil sit up again, stopping his ministrations. Patton’s heart ached at the loss; but then he felt Virgil scoot a little closer, wrapping his arms around the fairy completely.
“I do anyway,” he said, his breath ghosting across Patton’s shoulders. “You’re soft, and kind, and rare. And beautiful.”
Patton scoffed at that, pressing the heel of his palm harder into his eyes. “Sure, a real gemstone for you.”
“Patt,” Virgil used that voice, the voice with just a little bit of begging in it that had always made Patton cave when they were kids. “Patt, Please just look at me.”
Patton sighed, and gave up on stopping the conversation, and wiggled around to face Virgil. He felt something churning in his stomach, something fearful and wanting at the same time. Virgil reached over to cup his cheek, and Patton tilted his head, leaning into the hand.
“Patton Bunker.” Virgil said, with a soft sort of reverence that Patton had never heard before. The fairy closed his eyes tight, willing himself in vain to stop crying.
“Please don't.” he whispered.
Virgil then took Patton’s face in both of his hands, swiping his thumbs under the fairy's eyes gently until Patton opened them again.
“Patton Bunker. You are so beautiful.” Virgil looked right into Patton’s eyes, just like he had so many times. Just like the day of the stockade. Open, warm, a little concerned. He didn’t give Patton time to rebuff the statement, continuing, “You’re everything I remember and so much more. You’ve been through so much, but you’re still so soft. Unfailingly kind. And you are one of the most beautiful people I have ever seen.”
Patton broke.
He shook his head, over and over, squeezing his eyes shut and refusing to look at Virgil again. He felt Virgil take hold of his shoulders, guiding more than pulling him back to laying on the bed, tucking the fairy close to his chest. Virgil’s hands wound softly through his hair, up and down the sides of his face and throat, carefully over his still-healing shoulders. Patton cried into a shirt that was probably worth more than everything he had ever owned, and Virgil simply continued his ministrations once more, unfalteringly gentle.
Patton cried for a while, before coming to the edge of hysteria, laughing wetly as he lay next to the love of his life. “Y—you have a Prince.” He swallowed. “You have a Prince, and a world-traveled scholar. Th—there’s nothing I could add to that.” He flopped to the side, out of Virgil’s reach. Laying on his back for the first time since his whipping. “I don’t even have control of my own magic.”
Virgil would not be dissuaded, however, and took one of Patton’s hands, and with his other tilted Patton’s head to the side to look him in the eyes once more. The violet rings around his irises seeming to glow in the near-dark.
“You are more than what you do for me or anyone else. You are everything I want, just the way you are. I would ask you to come with me even if you were a werewolf.” Virgil said, leaning forward and placing a soft kiss on Patton’s forehead. “And,” Virgil pulled back to look at Patton again while smiling fondly, “before you start freaking out like I do during a thunderstorm, I already talked with Logan and Roman, and they both are really excited for you to come.”
Patton mirrored the smile through his tears, sniffling a little. Virgil’s hand carefully took his chin, his thumb wiping a stray tear off his cheek.
“Come with us?” he asked again.
Patton hesitated, but looking into Virgil’s eyes, he felt stronger than he had in years. He felt, for the first time, like he really could have happiness. And being with Virgil had always been as easy as breathing.
“Okay. Yes. I would love to come with you.
I love you.”

When Virgil finally got home, the first thing he felt was the familiar warmth of the apartment.
Letting out a contented sigh, he toed off his shoes and threw his keys on the little table on the side, moving further into the house.
“I’m home!” he called out, shrugging his backpack off and promptly collapsing face-first on the couch with a tired groan.
He heard more than saw Patton greet him from the kitchen, steps coming closer and closer until Virgil felt the couch dip slightly just beside his head. Familiar fingers started gently carding through his hair, barely scratching here and there just the way Virgil liked it.
“Hi Pat,” he said, shuffling around until his head was on his boyfriend’s lap.
“Hi,” Patton smiled back, gaze so warm and loving Virgil could distinctly feel his heart melt in his chest all over again -how Patton constantly managed to reduce him in a puddle of softness and warmth was still beyond Virgil, even after all these years.
(Not that he was complaining, mind you. It was just very hard to play the lone emo card when as soon as Patton’s eyes met his a dopey smile immediately appeared on his face.)
“How was your day, love?” Patton asked, breaking him out of his thoughts.
Virgil groaned, rolling to the side to hide his face in Patton’s stomach.
“Do you have a spare question?” he grumbled, voice muffled by his boyfriend’s shirt.
“That bad, uh?”
Virgil didn’t answer, pressing even closer to Patton and letting out some unintelligible noises.
“Awwww,” Patton cooed, “I just know what can cheer you up!”
Virgil peeked up at him, raising an eyebrow in question.
“Cuddles!” Patton exclaimed, leaning down to leave a kiss on Virgil’s forehead, “we can put on some movies and even order dinner from that Chinese restaurant you like so much. What do you think?”
Virgil smiled, gaze growing fonder by the second as he looked up at his boyfriend. “That sounds great, Pat.”
Patton smiled back, his hand moving from his boyfriend’s hair to cradle his cheek. There was so much love, so much fondness in his gaze that Virgil could feel himself tear up, his heart expanding in his chest until all he could feel was that fuzzy, warm feeling he could ever only associate with Patton.
He sat up, one hand raising to his cheek to cover Patton’s while the other moved to rest on the back of his neck. His boyfriend giggled, meeting him halfway in a gentle kiss.
“I love you,” he whispered, lips so close they brushed with every word.
“I love you too,” Virgil whispered back, before leaning in for another kiss.

____
Patton grinned to himself as he watched Virgil scroll through his phone.
Patton giggled before booping the side’s nose “I love you!” He giggled again
Virgil couldn’t help but laugh softly And boop him back (as revenge) “‘love you too.”
Patton beamed before booping him again “I” he booped him again “love” he booped a final time with a shining smile “you”
Virgil couldn’t help but hope the soft blush that was almost certainly gathering in his cheeks from Patton being his usual sweetheart self was being concealed by his concealer.
“I love you too, baby blue.”
Patton beamed “that rhymed!” Virgil shrugged
After that Patton ushered himself onto virgil's lap, happy to have virgil's lanky arms wrapped around him.
Virgil gave a small smile,
Then Patton booped him once again, “marshmallow, I love you!!” He smiled once again
“I know angel.” virgil said fondly

Some Moxiety Fluff
Just some Human AU Moxiety fluff :3
Warnings: food
Patton had just gotten home from working the late shift at his small baker downtown (creatively named Bake it till you make it). It's not that he disliked his job, it's just that he was glad to finally be home. But the site he saw when he opened the door to the apartment was truly a site like no other. His fiance, Virgil, was sat on the couch in a mound of blankets while slowly eating ice cream straight out of the carton, he seemed to also be watching sad movies.
Patton didn't know what to say, but he luckily didn't have to. "Ooh…your home" Virgil said putting another spoonful of ice cream into his mouth. "Ya, I told I'd be getting home at 10." Patton responded, walking over to the couch and taking a seat next to Virgil. There was a small pause. "So...I can assume you had a nice day off." Patton stated, a slight smile tugging at his cheeks. Virgil blushed, "I-I…" Virgil attempted to make a comment back, failing horribly. "Well if your watching movies and eating ice cream," Patton said as he grabing a blanket and throwing it over himself. "I may as well join you." Any plans for the rest of that day and the next were thrown at the window, in exchange for an extremely long movie marathon, 4 now empty cartons of ice cream, and quite a bit of cuddling. And they both agreed it was nice time, (no matter how bad the stomach aches were tomorrow).
