The way I will head into my kitchen or bedroom after setting a bowl of food out on my balcony for my unofficial cat Mata Hari (she’s sleek and svelte and has lovely black fur and I’ve given her that name because she’ll zip into my apartment just like a sultry spy would if I’m not careful)

When I was first shoved in front of a therapist… my mother thought that it’d be fine for her to park in the waiting room area and use that time to work on a knitting project and definitely not listen into whatever I chose to discuss with a trained professional

#for the record this therapist’s venue was a bungalow house reworked to be a therapist’s office. #like at this point I have to laugh #thank the fucking jebus that my mother cleared out of the place after I expressed how her continued presence made me nervous #which 1) is wild for me because I’m usually pretty fucking steadfast #and 2) really betrays just how much friction there is between me and my parents 🙃 #it took my initially feigning nervous convulsions and then them coming very naturally to me whenever my mother crept over my shoulder #like an evil gargoyle trying to peer into technically my own personal finances/judge how I spent the money that I MYSELF EARNED ON MY OWN #it’s nice to air these assorted thoughts tbh #personal #rant in tags #mothers
