Thanks so much for the tag, @lyntergalactic! :D I feel like I've done this before, but it must have been a whole ago. It looks fun! (also, I'm pasting just the questions at the bottom of the post if anyone wants to copy those)
1. How many works do you have on AO3? 247, though I'm not really sure what the ratio is for images versus fics... Okay, apparently, 97 of them are tagged with 'fanart' and have fewer than 100 words, so somewhere around 100 image-only works and 147 fics.
2. What's your total AO3 word count? 1,141,145; which includes a few collabs and fics for which I just contributed an image.
3. What fandoms do you write for? TCW exclusively 😅 Though I've done a handful of images for other things like Arcane, Dune, Trigun, The Expanse, House of the Dragon...
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos? A bunch of my works with the most kudos are images, but if we're talking fics, then I think it's just some of my oldest ones...
That’s Not How It Happened (This Is How It Happened) - Fives arc fix-it and my first fic.
Orbital Decay - Codywan that I haven't edited since I posted it, so I can't vouch for the quality.
Modulation - Another one I haven't touched since I posted it, but it's an 'Echo gets rescued much earlier than in canon and he and Fives reunite' fix-it of sorts.
Will You Walk With Me? - Waxer's pov from the start of the war to the (fix-it) end, and it mostly focuses on his and Boil's friendship (Waxer & Boil or Waxer/Boil pre-relationship - take your pick). Even though this certainly isn't the best thing I've written, it's my baby. 🧡
Interference - Umbara fix-it featuring minor canon characters and some necessary OCs in the first chapter, then more major canon characters later.

5. Do you respond to comments? Yes!
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? Probably You're Just Harder to See Than Most, which ends very sadly on its own, but it's part of a larger fix-it including Modulation above, so Fives and Echo get reunited.
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? Pfff like basically all of them, idk XD;
8. Do you get hate on fics? No, just on one sketch dump, where someone went through 6 chapters of spicy cloneshippy images and then decided they needed to complain about it being gross and immoral 🤣 It was hysterical kjlksahfg
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind? Oh yes, I'm a certified smut goblin. Not really sure what the question means by 'what kind,' but I guess 'porn with feelings' is probably the AO3 tag that would most accurately describe all of the smut I've written XD
10. Do you write crossovers? Nope.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen? Not that I know of.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated? Nope.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before? Yes! :D
14. What’s your all time favorite ship? Hm, I suppose if we're defining that as like, "what ship have you intensely shipped for the longest amount of time," it would be destiel? I was veeeeeery into that ship for many years.
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will? I've had one wip sitting around for over a year, and for a while I was thinking I wasn't going to get back to it ever. But I made a little vibes playlist for it and had some help brainstorming, so I'm hopeful I can start tackling it again after I get some current stuff drafted.
16. What are your writing strengths? Starting something and working on it until it's finished.
17. What are your writing weaknesses? I have a lot of trouble generating ideas on my own.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic? I think it's fine as long as it's either A. very short and clear from context or B. for some reason, the writer is intending to confuse the reader and obfuscate what was said. I know I've said it before, but I'm not gonna scroll to the bottom of a fic every few paragraphs to find the translations for whole phrases or sentences. If the amount of 'other language' starts making the dialogue difficult to follow, I'm just gonna nope out.
19. First fandom you wrote for? Technically, I wrote one thing for Gundam Wing back in like 2000, but I can't even remember what I did with it or what it was about, exactly. Other than that, TCW.
20. Favorite fic you’ve written? flsdlfg that's really difficult... idk man, if it's quality we're talking about rather than sentimentality, I'd say it's a toss-up between these three 😅:
My Heart's Red Muscle - Canon-divergent AU where Waxer is a cyborg.
Kinktober 2022 - Character studies/development through smut, where Waxer and Boil find a list of sexy things to try out, so it's kind of meta. It's from my main Open Skies AU, and I'm weirdly proud of this one XD;
We Could Breathe Underwater - Force-sensitive Waxer and Boil AU

She turned to look at him, shocked at the outburst. His eyes were wet with tears that stubbornly refused to fall. He glared back at her, as if challenging her to defy him. Somewhere in the back of her mind, she thought that she really should. This was insubordination. But she felt so relieved that someone else was making the decisions that she just relented, turning to look back out into space in silence.
“How could I have left him behind?” she whispered, long minutes later. Her face was wet. Joker was quiet for long enough that she stopped expecting an answer — what could he have said, anyway? But he did answer.
“You were doing your job, Commander. I… I’m sorry.” And he really did sound sorry for her.
“This job fucking sucks.”

Finch sneered. “I can find a dozen Reds who’ll swear they saw you kill aliens for fun. Who’s going to believe you then?”
His grey eyes caught hers, and held them steadily. The world slowed down as she seriously considered whether he really did know. Even without proof, anyone who had known her then could put two and two together and figure out what she did — no one else could have done it. But no one ever cared before.
Now it was something they could use against her. And they were threatening to.
Was that was he was doing? His words saying one thing, but meaning another?
I know you killed her, but I won’t say it in front of them. As long as you do what I say, no one else will ever know.
Was that what was behind his words?
The image of her, of Nazia, crying and begging Shepard for forgiveness intruded on her mind. Her screams echoed in Shepard’s ears, her blood sticky on Shepard’s hands.

“Do you compare yourself to your old Captain a lot?” Garrus asked.
“Not really. Not anymore.” Shepard shook off the thoughts rattling in her head. “I know I have a screwed up moral compass. That’s just a result of my ‘upbringing’. But I don’t let that turn me into monster. I don’t want to cross any more lines, but I keep stumbling over them anyway.”
Garrus looked at her, his thoughts and emotions inscrutable. She was getting better with reading turians, but he seemed closed off to her at this moment. Silence became heavy in the air, and she did nothing to break it.
“I wonder…” Garrus finally mused, “if I killed Saren, would I be struggling with it now as you are about Finch? I don’t know what the answer to that is, and that — that kind of scares me. Am I a monster, Shepard?”
“No, Garrus.” She smiled at him a little sadly. “You’re not a monster.”
“Yet,” he said. “Don’t you ever think that it takes a monster to stop a monster?”
“Sometimes,” she answered. “Mostly, it feels like an excuse.”
Garrus nodded. “Why did you get so angry when he called you by your name?”

“How about a new name?”
“What’s wrong with Shepard?”
“No, not that. Don’t you want to change Jane?”
“What’s wrong with Jane?” She frowned.
“Well clearly the orphanage just named you that because they couldn’t be fucked to actually care about you. Don’t you want a name more fitting for who you are?”
“I don’t want any connection to the people who threw me away like I was trash,” she said curtly.
“It’s not about your parents,” Nazia insisted. “They suck, but you have a whole culture that you come from.”
“I know nothing about it.”
“So? Don’t you want to reclaim it?”
“Well, you clearly want me to.”
“Just think about it. It can be like… like a new start for you!”
Considering it. Maybe it is better, to have a new name, one untainted by the dirtiness of her beginning. And if Nazia was the one renaming her, so much the better. She was the one who made Shepard feel like a human. And if this was important to Zi, then it was important to her.

“You think you know me so well?” she asked, sneering. She regretted it almost immediately when the animation that had taken hold of Garrus abruptly left him. He had seemed more alive for a brief moment there, much more like the angrily passionate man who had argued with his superior at the Presidium, or the one in Dr. Michel’s clinic, ready to take on a group of thugs alone.
As his commanding officer, it didn’t feel good to have made one of her own people feel so small. But even outside of that, she felt bad because she did think he was a good person, just misguided. And this conversation they’d just had was their first real one. They had been getting to know each other.
He was turning to leave when she said, “Wait. I’m sorry.”
He turned back to her, expectant, but now that the apology had come out of her mouth, she floundered for what else to say.
“I was trying to compliment you,” Garrus pointed out, breaking the awkward silence. “Didn’t think you’d take it so badly.”

“Do you still want to die?” Shepard asked.
“Do you?” Thane returned.
She had to turn away. “Sometimes.”
Leaning against the viewing window, she turned her gaze on the drive core below — pulsing, powerful, dangerous. Peripherally, she noticed Thane standing and coming to her on silent feet, but she still couldn’t bring herself to look at him.
“I don’t.” His presence behind her felt like a weight she couldn’t shake off. “I agreed with you, once. That perhaps those of us who have died should stay dead.”
“You never really died,” she said.
“In all the ways that matter, I did.” He touched her shoulder, so softly that she barely felt it, except that there was no atom of her existence that could ever be unaware of him. “Will you not look at me, siha?”

The dream begins as it always does: with the fall. Falling through the nothingness of space, the alarms in her armour chiming as she gasped desperately for oxygen. There is a breach somewhere. Probably around her torso, where pain and warmth radiated.
She flailed helplessly, heat and hurt building. But it never did reach an unbearable point. They faded away as she fell, and with them went the burdens she carried. Her legs stopped kicking and her arms stopped reaching. She fell looking at the vastness of space, that blanket of mystery she had watched so often when she was stuck on Earth, so determined to get away.
And she did. The choices she was presented with had been unacceptable to her, and so she had found another way. She became more — made herself more. She had explored the galaxy, helped people, saved lives… She’d made a difference.
For better, not worse.
When she lost consciousness, it was without pain. Without worries. Peace was not something she had ever been familiar with, but she learned what it meant, right there at the end.
If only it really was the end.

Hi. You can call me teecup or angel. This is primarily my AC and writing tumblr blog.
I post my fics in AO3 as teecup_angel.
I also have this tumblr blog that’s mostly me reblogging other stuff and very rarely I post something personal, I guess.
I have a twitter too but I haven’t used it in… I wanna say nearing a year? Maybe??? Yeeaaahhhh…
I’m currently writing fics for Assassin’s Creed and my primary focus is Desmond Miles because he deserves better.
Warnings:
I will pair Desmond with anyone (and I mean anyone) and my OTP is AltDes. I also do write gen so if you want to look at my tumblr but you don’t ship Desmond with any of his ancestors, I suggest blocking the following tags (altdes, ezides, condes, haydes, eddes). I also use those tags even when it’s just hinted at just to be safe.
While I cannot stop any minor from looking at this blog, please note that this may contain nsfw posts and I curse like a repressed catholic who was not allowed to curse when they were young. Also, I use 'dumbass' affectionately.
For Asks and Requests:
My ask box is open for nonnies and I try to answer every ask I get unless they specify that they want to keep it private.
Also, if you left me a suggestion or request in AO3, I do try to keep notes of them.
If you do request something or just leave me a plot idea, the most you’ll get from me would be a rambling of how it could work and possible subplots we can add to it. I tend to write whatever strikes my fancy and I’m hesitant in posting too many wips in AO3. Here on tumblr though… short fic and drabbles galore. The only reason why I wouldn’t answer your ask is if I couldn’t get to it in time as I allot a specific time for all asks and reblogs I get. If you don’t see it answered, it only means I’ll get to it next time.
I'm also fine with anyone using any of the posts/fic here or in AO3 to write or draw something as long as the post is linked and I'm informed :)
Also, you can request any crossover ideas with Assassin’s Creed and I’ll find a way to kick Desmond into it. I am a big believer of Desmond is the ultimate isekai protagonist. XD

(Also, for those asking me if I need a beta, yeah, most probably but then I would be obligated to remove the "No Beta We Die Like Desmond" tag and the tag is too funny for me to give it up. XD I'd appreciate any comments that tell me if I've written something wrong though, especially the non-English words I sometimes use.)

I got around to read your IAU after you posted that massive chronological list (huge props for that btw) and I have a question.
What happened to Sky? I tried scrolling through the tag but couldn’t find anything other that an ask answer about him having a beard after a year?
Was he one of the supers that got lured to the island but managed to escape/survive? If he's stuck, I assume maybe his wings got messed up to much to fly or something?
I'm new to this AU ;-;
Ah yeah I can see that being confusing XD sometimes I forget everything isn’t obvious/easy to find to somebody new coming into it. I should probably make a masterpost or something...
Well anyway, I’m actually in the process of writing a fic about specifically what happened to Sky, so hopeful that’ll help clear some things up. In the meantime though I don’t mind explaining what happened.
It’s basically like you said— he got lured to the island, under the assumption it was the government that needed his help with an out-of-control project. But upon beating the robot (guardian hehe), he accidentally stumbles upon Dark Link’s whole plan, and realizes pretty darn quick that this is not, in fact, a government operation.
Dark Link finds him though, and quickly tries to get rid of him, and though Sky does get away, one of his wings is messed up enough that he can’t just fly off the island. It would be a long flight even with both wings working, so he’s definitely stuck.
...and his family has no clue where he is. He was supposed to keep it a secret, and thinking it was the government, he honored that, even though he didn’t like it. Not even Sun knows where he is.
This all happens like a year and a half (ish) before the actual movie event stuff, and by the time that rolls around, most of them are convinced Sky is dead. Mostly because Dark Link planted some feathers and burnt bits of Sky’s suit to throw off any trail towards him (he doesn’t want anyone sniffing around his island or what he’s got planned), so his family just... thinks there must have been an accident.
Thing is though, Sky is not, in fact, dead.
He’s been having the worst year of his life for sure, narrowly avoiding being hunted down and killed and scrounging for survival on an island, but he’s not dead.
Though a week or two before Time ends up in the island, Dark Link corners him and thinks he’s finally got him, and marks him as dead (...which Time later sees when he’s snooping in the computer oop), but once again, Sky is not dead. He’s just... close to it. Fortunately Hyrule and Legend are the two that stumble on him later... Hyrule’s powers come very much in handy.

Author Ask Tag Game
@axl-ul put up an open tag for this and I love these questions so I'm going to do it. Make sure to go read their answers because they were truly beautiful and inspiring <3333 Here's the linky.
And I will of course, use The Wolfena to answer these since it's my. most developed WIP.
What is the main lesson of your story (e.g. kindness, diversity, anti-war), and why did you choose it? I'm not into preachy stories, but The Wolfena has a very blatant anti-slavery, pro-autonomy message woven into it. Autonomy is all. This story is about finding your autonomy even in situations where you feel trapped or have no control over the world around you. I didn't choose it at all, but I once spoke to a highly accomplished author (sadly it was so long ago and I actually disliked the conversation a lot at the time, so I don't have her name). But she basically asked me "Why doesn't your book address slavery?" And I was so annoyed, because I was working on a different book that had little to do with the subject. But that question festered in my mind, and a few years later The Wolfena were born.
What did you use as inspiration for your worldbuilding (like real-life cultures, animals, famous media, websites, etc.)? I've said this before, but The Hundred tv show and Ammonite by Nicola Griffith were highly formative to writing The Wolfena. I drew a huge amount of inspiration from all of the New England winters I've survived, as all of the characters grew up in a total ice-age. I really tried to capture both the wonder of spring and the barren hopelessness of winter.
What is your MC trying to achieve, and what are you, the writer, trying to achieve with them? Do you want to inspire others, teach forgiveness, help readers grow as a person? Naxia wants to free all of the enslaved people in her nation even if she dies trying; Lariette just wants to free herself; Jimian wants to learn to be human again. I wouldn't say I'm trying to achieve anything with them, as they were all strong muses who guided me through the story, at times with minimal effort on my part. But, I do hope they help others understand that we are full of far more strength than we could ever imagine.
How many chapters is your story going to have? This is my shame. The Wolfena has a whopping 70+ chapters.
Is it fanfiction or original content? Where do you plan to post it? The Wolfena is a totally original story, at least I hope, hehe. My ultimate goal is to traditionally publish it, but we'll see where all the pieces fall.
When and why did you start writing? (Assuming this is in regards only to The Wolfena) I think I started writing this story somewhere around 2016? I had to write it to address that festering question about slavery, and also to work through my feelings about womanhood and gender as I became an adult.
Do you have any words of engagement for fellow writers of Writeblr? What other writers of Tumblr do you follow? Well, I used up a lot of typing energy on these questions, so you can find engagement and encouragement over on Fighting For Writing <3
I follow mostly writers, so I'll tag to the best of my ability and leave it open as well for anyone who wants to participate! Uhhh, I'm not really sure? But I'm going to go with chapter 20 of Red String of Fate. After so many near kisses throughout the fic, having HanaNene finally get their kiss makes this the happiest ending... Probably idk XD

Welllllll, I've tried to write smut. But I just don't have the knack for it, I can't handle the cringe while writing it and I can't read it back.

If the day ever comes where no one supports HanaNene, it's because I've died. I will never not love those 2.
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
I don't even have a proper name for this WIP, it's called Possession AU in my documents. It was a KouNene fic, but you could also see it as HanaNene although they are not end game :// It's a real shame, the fic almost has 8,000 words to it, but I just have no motivation to continue.
I also have another WIP called Boundary Bound Nene-chan, but I only got a few paragraphs in and never touched it again :// The concept was pretty cool as well, Nene wakes up inside a mysterious place (later discovered to be a boundary) with no memories. She meets a boy named Tsukasa, who informs her she's dead, and together they try to find a way out. This was leaning very heavily into Yandere Hanako, which is usually right up my alley, but yeah again no motivation.
Last one I'll share is a Scaramouche fic, the temporary title was 5 times Scaramouche failed to be human and 1 time he didn’t. It's self-explanatory I think, but I started it before his backstory cutscene was revealed, and I lost confidence and motivation since what I was writing didn't match it at all. This one will 100% never be finished sadly.
16. What are your writing strengths?
Hmm, it's hard to say. I think I have good ideas and concepts, and I can keep the flow of the story moving at a decent pace. I also think I do well with character interaction? Maybe? Idk.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Descriptions. I am so so so bad at describing things, I think I find it hard to actually put myself into the scene, so I struggle to really get into the details of the environment and such. My paragraphs usually are on the smaller side, which I hate because I really want to immerse my readers.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
English is the only language I know and I do not trust Google Translate ^^;
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Technically speaking, it's Sonic The Hedgehog lmao, I wrote fics for that fandom in my very early teens on Fanfiction.net. No, I will never reveal my account or share what I wrote, I will actually die before I do that.
20. Favorite fic you’ve written?
Hmm... Since the vamp au is unfinished, I will say it's chapter 21 of Red String of Fate. It is the only fic I have ever written and actively decided to go back and willingly read multiple times without dying of cringe... I just like it I suppose aha

WIP Game!
Thank you @osirisiii-bc for tagging me!
Rules: post the names of all the files in your WIP folder regardless of how non-descriptive or ridiculous. Let people send you an ask with the title that most intrigues them and then post a little snippet of it or tell them something about it! And then tag as many people as you have WIPs.
It's so exciting to talk about this. I don't post something very often (especially in English!) and I've had a few WIPs lying around for about two years. I plan to write them too, and I'm trying to write a little each day now to have some stories.
They're mostly copiiia, but they're not related to each other if that interests anyone.
Also, I have some WIPs from RE Village, Dishonored, Echo, Fantastic Beasts, and even SCP Foundation. Where can I find additional time to write it all LMAO?
Fanfics:

What ship were you completely obsessed with as a teenager, but now you don’t care about anymore?
As a teenager... well, that was quite a while ago lol. I suppose that would have been Harry/Draco. First fandom, first queer pairing, first smut stories. I was such a sweet sweet summer child XD The early 00s were wild
Which ship would you consider your first one?
Soooo. Funny story. Way back when, I got into fanfiction via fanfiction.net. You know how their filter system is bad/non-existent? Yeah. Little me, on her first outing to ffnet, didn’t know how to operate the character settings. I clicked on the first story on the top of the first page of the HP section. It was a Snape/Hermione star-crossed lover deal. It flash-fried my brain, taught me content curation in a crash course and incidentially made me partial to the ship for quite a few years...
Your first fanfic was about which couple?
See above lol. I will never ever forget the experience. I tried to find that story later for downloading (like an ugly beloved keepsake ig lol) but never managed.

Nope. Scraped by a few times since I entered the tumblr bubble but managed to stay out of it. I don’t get the point. It's freaking fictional characters in fictional worlds. Go touch grass or something instead... (but you will make me fucking mad if you try to drag me into these things with wild ad hom accusations based on what i ship or dont ship)
Did you used to have a NOTP or have one currently?
No, not really. It's only ever preferences. There are some I dislike due to my own hc/inability to suspend my disbelief but I wouldn’t call them NOTPs. I just don’t read them.

I actually dislike the term OTP. It's a scale of preferences for me. There are few (read: none) fav characters that I can only see with one love interest (and anyway, sometimes i do prefer plot over love story. wild take i know) and the more time I spend in a fandom the more I diversify.
Is there any couple that, to this day, you are extremely mad about not getting into?
I don’t get this question, sorry. If I'm interested, I'll search it out. Even if the fandom is old. AO3 is an archive for exactly that reason.

I'm so glad you asked. It's clearly Dream/Helm (thank you for that @writing-for-life ) Or Gollum/The One Ring (thanks go to Neil himself here). Or - actually, never mind lol.

At the moment it's Dreamling. But I cycle through fandoms/pairings periodically...(btw im looking for more Johanna/Death? If anyone could point me in the right direction?)
What do most of your ships have in common?
At least one character has a dark/unknown/violent/tragic past (they can be victim or perpetrator!!! I'm all for character development babey)
What do you absolutely hate in a ship?
I don’t hate ships? As I said above. Possibly the reduction on 'I can fix him/her' or 'my love will save him/her from depression/"the darkness"/etc.' but that is mostly a matter of the author's style of crafting characterization and plot and has nothing to do with the ship itself.

Bullet journal week 1
Said I was gonna keep a bullet journal. So i doing it. Gonna update it weekly here so that I hopefully keep on it. With some commentary.
Thing i am gonna give it a special tag so people can block of if they want.
Well here we go
Weather and rate my day. Spend the week on vacation at my grandma's so great week. Just meh today cause leaving and card ride.
And yes snow today. At my grandma's when we left. Then nothing for the entire car ride through the country and then snow again back home. Really funny
Not touch to add to this one. Quizy is probably spelled wrong. But just means feeling slightly Blegh in general. Today mostly cause I get car sick which sucks
Mood. Like i said spend with family just all around good until I had to leave
Not much to say about sleep. Just curious how it's gonna look when I get back to work. Definitely need to find another way for the fanfic reading graph for next month
Steps low, but I am on break and it was raining. So I expected it. As well as chores. It's my grandma's house and she has somehow done the chores before you even get the time to over.
But hobby's through the roof who would have guessed XD
(I didn't finish 3 first draft, 1 drawing, started 2 other ones and worked on my crochet blanket sssh)
Writing highlights was easy with the fun week. Of all the things I doodled the only one I got no explanations for is the snail xd.
Achievement was also easy with how much fun projects I got done. Gonna be interesting how that is gonna go when work starts + added some goals

Find the Vibe
Ah jeez, my notifications apparently just bundled everything for the last week and only told me about this when I was too sleepy last night to do anything about it XD Thank you for the tag, @ambiguouspuzuma
My vibe to find is something close or akin to "I get that all the time" - I had to think fairly hard as I only have one major WIP at the moment and while at least one of the Darcys will be getting that vibe later in the book we're not there yet.
And then I remembered Trent, one of the background characters who exists mostly to be Trent at appropriate moments...

The inside of the train carriage was pure chaos. Teenagers of all ages filled every seat, and maybe only a tenth of them were actually sitting in them as designed; although no one was rude enough to have shoes on the upholstery it looked like a good many had simply discarded their shoes to get around this. Before she could start looking for an empty spot of her own, however, Darcy was stopped short by a brick wall of a human being who nevertheless had Head Boy written all over him. Literally, once she spotted the badge.
"First year? Need a hand? I can put your bags up, no probs!" On one hand, Darcy had had poor experiences before with boys like him - blond, pale, in a position of power - and she tensed automatically. On the other, his tone was unexpectedly high-pitched and perky for someone his size; Darcy found herself irresistibly put in mind of a large, friendly, Golden Retriever that wasn't entirely sure if she wanted to play. The two warring thoughts stopped her from responding straight away.
"Trent! Give them a chance to breathe! And stop looming!" Against all ergonomic sense the new speaker was lounging belly down on the nearest seat, propped up on her elbows, feet up against the wall. Darcy received a wide and toothy grin under the darkest eyes Darcy had ever seen as Trent bashfully backed off a bit. "Don't mind him, he's got no manners but he's a big old softy really," the girl continued, not helping with Darcy's mental images. She expected Trent to kick up a fuss but he just gave her a sheepish grin and shrug that said "It's true" louder than words ever could.
Trying not to laugh, tension released, Darcy said, "Sure, I could use a hand."
Trent instantly perked up again. "Right! Anything that goes on this rack will get taken in for you at the other end, so make sure you have anything you want for the train ride on you." Given it was the first rack by the door Darcy couldn't see how Trent could think there would be room for another bag on it, never mind her duffel, but she dutifully handed it and the smaller bags attached over while working on getting out of her rucksack. Somehow he found a space to squeeze them into - and her rucksack after Darcy extracted the day sack from the top of it - although she somehow missed seeing him do it, and couldn't spot them amongst the old-fashioned wooden trunks lined up on the rack.

i am somehow so very grateful for this prompt :'D it was delightfully vague despite being so straight to the point, and this is why i decided to both follow it and not follow it at all.
here's the result
everyone keeps telling me puentalay are taylor swift coded but i've never really listened to taylor swift that much (i don't really count the radio hits i was subjected to throughout my life). so this was my excuse to finally get into her music! mostly through jessi's @patprans amazing vv edit from a while ago. i went through that whole list of songs in it and i have to say it was a journey.
from it, this love stuck with me the hardest. tbh i cry with it now if i listen to it bc it feels so right for these two. so thank you to you both for opening my eyes, i suppose XD not that i ever really was against any of this, i just didn't have the right motivator before. now i had that and the time. it was fun ♥
and don't worry, i also looked into red! i do know that song haha, i haven't grown up under a rock after all. but i had to look at the lyrics properly and i do get where you're coming from with this prompt. i can feel puentalay there, especially bc of the colors. which i wanted to hold onto even when i abandoned the song itself!
so there's blue, as their beginning and ending. there's black and gray for the missing part, for the loss and grief and longing. and then there's red towards the end for the love! which. truly if loving puen is red am going insane for a little bit. we have had the convos about puen and red, am not digging into that again.

i really love the way this song starts and how it seems to tell the whole puentalay journey in just, what is that, one verse? well, you know. in just a few lines we've come from their starting point to the inevitable tragedy of them having to separate, and then we've come to their reunion and persevering love.
so the edit tries to interpret all that. the first pic is about the water (which i've been thinking about so much and am going insane about it currently, there's so much Water!!), about how talay gets swept into this other universe and how he finds puen. which. i hope you get it that this is also about that glass house scene in ep 4 where talay runs through the rain to get to puen again. that's important. that's puen's tide - that rain.
and then there's a bit of fluff there. about the things they could go on and on about. about these moments where they find each other. about these moments where they... idk. are just lovely and in love. i wanted to show that.
bc i needed that before we hit the angst town! skies grow darker? currents come and sweep you away again? yeah, so true. puentalay literally just get together and then they're fighting which leads them to the secret island. which then, kind of, steals puen from talay a bit later. I tried to show all that too.
and then it's just. episode 11 part 1/4 heartbreak hours. that part is legendary and i love the angst so much even if watching it feels every time like someone is trying to carve my heart out with a plastic knife. but this line in the lyrics!!! it was just so perfect. gosh. (paired with the "and this love came back to me" like CMON i could make another edit only for that)
this then leads to the pink and the red. bc next we see what they had, what good things they got. the "silent screams" are, for me, about talay. about how he's saying he doesn't do love, doesn't really think about it, but still ends up seeking it. and idk, the dusty heart thing always gets to me. that's kind of his silent scream; talking about the love he does not want to the guy who wants nothing else but them to fall in love. how ironic.
puen got the "wildest dreams" then bc damn, that man has so many Wild Dreams. i didn't want to include the popcorn eating in this bc that would've made this edit cracky imo, so there's now just puen intensely staring at talay. this man is up to no good. his fantasies are horrible yet so, so cute. am so happy he actually got to finally live his popcorn fantasy XD what a doofus.
and then finally! all the things they never even dreamed about! aka everything in the our skyy eps. all of that was so good and domestic i bet they never thought they would have something like that. so that was for the last one. am kind of happy this took so long to make so i got those eps before this ♥ they're such a joy.

Thank you for the tag @i-will-bite! And it was a joy to read your answers. I'm going to be thinking about how people survive because kindness was extended to them for a while.

What's your Shire? Mountains and forests. I grew up near the Appalachians and later spent some time near the Alaska Range, and climbing to the top of a mountain is an experience I cannot put into words. Even when you are inching along a cliff edge the mountain itself is so solid and real at your back you feel safe.
What is your Hobbit culture? My family are all very devout Christians. That manifested mostly in a conviction to love people, however we could and whenever we could, and in a commitment to education. Generosity and compassion were a big deal. Reading and school were a big deal. Taking care of your community and your family were a big deal.
Who is your Tom Bombadil? Now this one kinda stumped me XD I think the cast of the Redwall books fills this spot. That was the first fantasy series I ever fell in love with, and they dominated my imagination for years.
What are your elves and dwarves? Theater, lol. I was convinced I was going to be an actor from ages eight to eighteen, and those ten years of my life revolved around participating in theater in any way I could.
What are your middle earth languages? Childcare? Literature? Customer service? Pedagogy? I don't think I am an expert on any of these things but they are subjects I know a lot about due to work/school/life.
What are your themes? The importance of stories; of storytelling. The importance of belief or trust in someone or something beyond yourself. The importance of taking the first step, and the second, and the third, and on and on until you've reached the end of your journey. Love and responsibility. Grief and change. Hope.
What is your moral of the story? Hope, I think. People are constantly changing, whether they notice or not. The world is constantly changing, whether we notice or not. Yeah, things can always get worse, but they can always get better too. The only way you are going to find out what the future holds is to live long enough to see it.

Do you mind sharing how you write your fics? Do you have a process? A starting point?
Also, I know a lot of ppl talk "show not tell" in writing, but how do you know if you're telling instead of showing (& vice versa)? Cause for me, I would look down at what I wrote and have no idea if I'm showing or telling.
I've searched online too. People all talk about "show it not tell it" but there's never any steps to tell you how to differentiate between the two.

And ohh, those are fun questions!
1) Fic writing process
All fics start with an idea, and when I get one, I store it in a document of fics (it's a numbered list of ideas with some bullet points if I want to expand further). I don't look at the fic again unless I have nothing to write OR the idea keeps swimming around in my head and I need to get it out in a more concrete form.
I don't put too much effort into outlining a fic. Often I'll make a short list of bullet points with notes, scenes I want to include, and other things I don't want to forget. A lot of the time, stuff comes to me as I write, so I don't worry about the tiny details.
When I think I like an idea enough to see it to completion, I'll open a new document and put down the summary and tags on the very first page. Here's what that looks like for my fic Sorry, we thought this was a meal for four, not one:
Usually, I don't insert the summary quote until much later. On the same page, I'll also generally have things I want to include in the notes or details I really need to remind myself on. They don't always make the most sense:
Longer, more plot-driven fics tend to have more notes. I think for my Vyn Wonderland fic, I moved my story ramblings to the notes app on my phone (and actually ended up with a brief chapter-by-chapter outline).
I don't always have a finished outline when I start drafting, but when I do start writing I try to speed through the first draft. It's very much "write first, edit later" on my end because I convince myself that I can make it better during the editing process.
Speaking of editing, once I have a first draft I like to let it sit for a bit, whether that be for a couple of hours or overnight. Then when I return to the draft, I should have a better perspective on what needs to be fixed. I go through at least four rounds of editing, sometimes more, and the last round is always with the work pasted in the AO3 editor (because the change in font once again gives me that new perspective to get typos/errors I missed in the previous rounds). I also make sure to click 'preview' and then return to the draft because that allows me to fix spaces after italics, line breaks, etc.
Once I'm satisfied with the one-shot/chapter (or just tired of reading the same thing 5-6 times in a row XD), I click the post button!
2) Show don't tell
My interpretation of show don't tell is a lot to do with emotion. Mostly something like "if you can define the emotion then try not to state it". Character A isn't happy at some good news (telling), they're grabbing their friend and spinning them around in a circle (showing). Character B isn't angry (telling), a fire is burning in the pit of their stomach and/or their throat is tight and/or their fists are clenched (showing).
It's not a hard rule, of course, because I tell sometimes, too!
I think another way show don't tell is used has to do with internal voice. Like how telling would something like "he thought so-and-so" and showing would be putting the thoughts directly in italics or indirectly in normal text.
Telling: He wondered what the secret ingredient was.
Showing directly: He swallowed the bite of lasagna. Huh, I wonder what the secret ingredient is.
Showing indirectly: He swallowed the bite of lasagna. What could the secret ingredient be?
I've used all three in various situations, so you don't always have to show each and every thing. Find what works for you and go with it :D

If you get stuck, you can always refer to writing styles you like and see what the author does with their prose, dialogue, whatever you're studying -- and then see if you can execute it in your own writing!

I don't think I have that mod/it exists for the first game??? (I've romanced Kaidan for Wren before, but I'm romancing Liara this run on ME1 and Garrus later; on default for the blog there's no romance.)

The hilarious pause of "do I clicky the how are you doing dialogue or is it romance???" before doing it because I have the same gender romances mod and need to beware unintentionally flirting with Ash as well as Kaidan here (I should have disabled it since I kept Kaidan as Beacon-toucher and am romancing Liara anyway but NAH).
General disclaimer: This is not meant to be a 1:1 to my roleplay portrayal, even if it can be used as a reference for choices and just as a general "people can watch this if they are interested/wanna know Wren/the game more" fun thing. In gameplay, I tend to exhaust dialogue options; for a lot of asking questions, Wren actually would already be aware of the answers so sometimes it's more about wanting to show the dialogue (for people not familiar with the game) and gaining XP, other times (mostly when conversing with people about their personal experiences) she asks about things she is aware of because she wants the story from the person themselves, and to show care. Also, gaming dynamics obviously have their limits.
I record everything. I edit out reduntant getting lost on the map (happens a lot more you'd expect), repeat dialogue, and/or speed through leveling up, modding equipment, etc. If I am reading something while playing, I keep the text in my edits for long enough for me to be able to read (I'm a slow reader). Stuff less relevant to the story, such as planet descriptions, I keep in the video but only very briefly so that the information is there and readable if the video is paused.
I mainly record for my own reference/screencapping etc. purposes.That's why there also are no subtitles, though I will record clips I specifically want to share with subtitles on.
You may use my videos freely for anything you wish, such as screencapping your muse if you play someone from the games etc.
I play with a galore of mods! Here's my list of mods I currently use in this playthrough for the first game.
I always include clickable timestamps on Youtube, if you want to watch, but want to skip some parts.

OC Name meanings

okay, so I think we all know that I primarily write a bunch of fanfic. so a lot of my characters come pre-built with names. there are several that I came up with myself, but if I only listed those names, it wouldn't even look like my book anymore, so I'm gonna define all of them anyway. (except for Malroth. I have little idea what his name means or where it comes from. it's not even his name from his starting language. who knows!)
that said I do have ONE original story (I have not worked on it in so long agh) and I will do that one at the end.
Builderverse
Crea- short for Create. stole it from the tutorial lmao.
Aris- short for Arisplotle. who is a slime. dragon quest has a thing about slimes having pun names, you know? (granted in maskverse I named him Aristaeus, which he hates, and it means some variation of "best" because he's the best boy.)
of note, in Maskverse specifically, "Malroth" is a nickname he made up for himself that he could use while in hiding as the prince so no one could sus him out. his first name is Troy. this is because his mom is Hellen and I thought it would be funny. Hellen of Troy from illiad fame is now Troy of Hellen in my story. (it's really not that funny, is it?) (yes this is basically the sole reason I made Hellen from the game his mom for the sake of the story. good times!)
of the main builders cast I'm mostly interested in Rosie (self-explanatory since she's a gardener), Babs (comes from Barbara which means stranger), and Anessa. From the (weirdly few) posts I can find about this name, Anessa is short for Agnessa, which is another form of Anges. in Greek, Agnes is pure/holy/chaste/satisfaction (everyone gives a different one lol), which I find interesting given her role in the story.
of other interesting note, Warwick can mean from the settlement by the weir (which I guess is a dam), but it also can mean "strong leader who defends". personally I think they went with his name because "war" is in it and hi that's what his island is known for.
Ludovic itself means Famous war/battle, but I chose it because the Spanish version of builders named Warwick "Ludovico" and I needed another antagonist.
Damara is Greek for "gentle" which makes sense cos she was created to be a mentor character. ended up later adopting Malroth but she lended well to it XD
Griswold- english was grey forest or grey land, french it was a ruler with grey hair (which is kinda weird because in game he is VERY bright blue). that said, I think they picked it because it kinda sounds like gristle, which is related to bone, which he is a skeleton.
Floria- flower. just thought it's fun to have a hypercompetent soldier be named Flower because her parents wanted her to be a nice proper lady. (she said fuck that.)

Sirens
Patrick- nobleman (english)
Jonathan- God has given (hebrew)
Scotia- person from Scotland (english) (she's not Scottish tho I just liked how it sounded)
Troy- footsoldier (greek) (don't ask me how I got two of these)
Easton- from the east (he arrives to the story from far away)
Brinda- from the basil plant (india) (again I liked the sound)
Kurt- courteous (american) (it's funny because he's overtly sarcastic with everyone but Brinda and then he turns into a teddy bear. only Patrick ever sees it tbh)
Felice- fortunate/happy (latin)
Tahlia- morning dew (hebrew). also because my dad always joked about naming me Talitha so I played with the letters.
Sera- shortened from Saraphim, which is an angel (something latin related)
I have other characters that only appear in book 2, but given I haven't touched that story since 2014-2016, I don't think it's going anywhere enough to bother listing here.
