Behind the Scenes: You know how when Erron Black shows up in the intro, he's looking at a Wanted poster of his opponent? I feel like Goddess!reader has something like that where she's looking at a tarot card that's different for each character before it disappears into mist. Another opening is the reader strutting in shapeshifted into her opponent, before turning back. Her friendship fatality has her stirring a comically large witch's caldron and Noob Saibot pops out in a cloud of mist.

Why wasn’t your powers working?

Some men weren’t sure to help because you were a helpless nude woman. Some didn’t budge from their defense stance to protect where you were. As you ask for help again, the lines of men depart in the middle, making room for one particular man. His head was held high, and even through your pending hypothermia, you could tell he was the one in charge. Everyone and you meant every single man that your eyes darted between, bowed out of respect.

You felt confused as your eyes met the man who stared down at you with an expression you couldn’t read. Your fingers were going numb to the point that they felt like they were burning off, and you grasped at your shivering limbs before you felt one of the men throw something over your bare body.

“Someone get something for her to cover up.” was the last thing you’d heard before everything went black.

It’s been weeks since you’ve been here. After you are found, you grow accustomed to your surroundings and the people around you—the Lin Kuei. Everyone around you seemed so strict, so disciplined—so strong. But it made sense, considering who their leader was—the Grandmaster. From your knowledge, he was the one who asked for you to be covered up before you blacked out. But besides that awkward interaction, you haven’t seen him around the estate. Some told you that you spent weeks in bed and he would come to see if you woke up, a task many parts of the Lin Kuei felt odd was happening. The Grandmaster frequently sees if the strange naked woman has woken from her slumber.

Now that you’ve been up and about for weeks, you had to admit to yourself that you weren’t used to the cold weather, but you’ll get used to it until you figure out what was going on. Your memories were still a blur. You remembered being on a boat and eventually in water for what seemed like days. Even as the memory of that churns around your brain, you still sense the feeling of familiarity here.

While you poorly attempted to place cups on a tray, humming along to a tune stuck in your head is ultimately the only thing keeping you sane. Just as you finished the assigned tasks, you could hear footsteps enter the estate's kitchen. From your time here, you managed to recognize many by the way they walked. Madam Xia was the head handmaiden in charge of every single handmaiden who served under Lin Kuei. Many of them have skills from basic combat training, cooking, sewing, medical, and some other things. Madam Xia has been with the fraction since she was younger, worked her way to the top, and has now overseen you since you were new.

You didn’t have any of these skills that the others had, so you were as confused as ever about why they placed you here. The man you met some weeks ago, The Grandmaster. From Madam Xia’s mouth herself, she told you that It was his idea until your memory came back or if he knew how to handle you and your situation.

“Your head is always in the clouds, young lady.” Madam Xia pointed out.

“It’s the only thing I can do, Madam Xia.” You sighed as you placed another item on the tray. “If you can’t tell, I haven’t made any friends.” Your eyes avert to glance at your reflection in the shiny silver tray.

“I mean, granted, the Grandmaster choosing you to be his handmaiden has caused some ladies to be uneasy.” Madam Xia’s voice trails off when she realizes this is the first you will hear the news. She had you doing many tasks for a reason.

“I don’t want that role.” You responded with a quickness. “I’m undeserving of such a high role. Especially since I have just got here. I’m still learning many things and think a more polished person would fit better.” Your words moved so fast that Madam Xia had to grasp at your arms to affirm you.

“The Grandmaster chose you personally.” Her chestnut-colored eyes scanned your face, watching the fear leave your eyes as her hands rubbed at your arms. “You’ll do fine; he chose you for a reason.” She smiles at you so hard that her eyes crinkle close. “Now, your first task is to give him this evening tea. If he has any, you’ll just place the tray down and step back for other orders.”

“That can’t be that hard.” You pointed out with a sly grin.

“It won’t be. Just place the tea on the table.” She explained.

You were beyond nervous; you weren’t afraid to admit that, especially with the whispers around the estate about the Grandmaster. With this role, any screw-ups could cost you your life, and you didn’t even think he would harm you. It would be the others that would do it. His men that stood loyally by his side. The other handmaidens you were sure could kill a man with the same utensils they shine.

“Madam Xia, do you know why the Grandmaster chose me?” You asked as you placed the tea on the tray.

“Young lady, I have told you to stop questioning his decisions. The decision is finalized, and don’t mess it up.” Xia had placed some more things on the tray for you to take to the Grandmaster before he was to rest. “You’re already an odd one out within the others—messing this up could get you exiled.” She fixes your attire from the back, and you realize her words sent a chill down your spine.

Madam Xia didn’t lie. You were the odd one out. A woman that the Lin Kuei found in the cold, starving, and no clue how she got there in the first place. They didn’t have to welcome you here in a place with some of the best fighters and protectors, but they did. Madam Xia knew that ensuring you knew how everything operates around here would be a challenge. But the older woman never backed down from a challenge. She always said you had a pretty face and voice that could comfort all. But another pretty face apart from the already bonded handmaidens and warriors in the Lin Kuei only caused you to be iced out by the others. With this opportunity given to you on what seems like a silver platter, it didn’t help your attempt to make friends.

“Remember, your belongings are already in your new room.” Madam Xia pointed out.

“My new room?” You questioned. Your eyebrows furrow together with confusion written all over your face.

“You’ll be serving the Grandmaster now, and it’s only right for you to be closer to him.” Madam Xia gave you one glance at you before speaking again. “I have trained you well, young lady, and you have learned very quickly. The Grandmaster has chosen you for a reason, and we may not know why, but we trust that he has made a good choice. Now, hurry and deliver his nightly tea before it gets cold.” Her finger points at you before she disappears in the darkness of the exit of the heated kitchen.

As soon as she disappeared into the darkness, you placed some extra things on the tray and finally made your journey towards the Grandmaster’s chambers. You mentally remember everything you’ve learned. You were to serve his tea from which side to how much to pour into the cups. You even timed your steps from the kitchen to the Grandmaster’s chambers. The three-minute walk outside in the cold weather could have any time shivering and teeth chattering together. But even with the cold weather that had you thinking you should have wrapped a cloak around your body, two men stood outside his quarters' entrance—standing tall with their heads held high as if it was the best feeling to be guarding the Grandmaster of the Lin Kuei.

“I have brought the Grandmaster’s evening tea.” You bow before you can hear the door tugged open and immediately step inside.

The warmth of his chambers made you let out a sigh of relief. You bow your head out of respect, “I have brought your tea,” You put the tea on the small table to the left before finally lifting your head to get a glance at him.

You were pretty new, having only seen him once since that day. But the mere whispers from others intrigued you. They described him as stern, serious, and strong. That’s the energy you get from even being in his presence as you place the tea on the table. You went to pour the hot liquid into the cup, but he firmly stopped you. Indicating he can do it himself. But soon, his hand extended, gesturing for you to take the place before him. You did, sitting on your knees as you watched him pour the tea in the cups.

You purposely put two cups just in case he had guests.

“I have assigned this role to you to keep a close eye on you.” He explained. “While you’re here, you will follow the rules just like everyone else until you regain your memory.” He slides the cup of tea across towards you.

“I expressed to Madam Xia that I feel like this role could have gone to someone much more experienced.” Your eyes stare at your reflection in the hot liquid. “But, if you assigned this role to me because you don’t trust me. I understand.”

“It’s just strange.” He sips from the cup and makes eye contact with you, maybe to catch you in some form of lie.

Now, you were able to get a complete look at him. The scar that decorated his face traveled from his forehead, passed his eyes, and down his cheek. His dark brown eyes scan your face before speaking again, “Your training starts tomorrow morning.” He finishes the cup of tea just as you sipped out your cup.

“My training?” Your eyebrows furrowed together, and you sat up straight. “How can I be your personal aid if I’m training?”

“You can’t be my personal aid if you can’t protect yourself.” He backfired, leaving you there to bite back a response.

Your lips went to argue because you could indeed protect yourself. But with your powers not working now, you were as useless as possible. You could tell the training would be intense just by the way each member of the Lin Kuei carried themselves. It was as if they paraded around, always to be guarded and ready for everything.

“So, rest tonight, and I’ll see you in the morning.”

You blinked a couple of times to process what he was saying before standing up quickly. You bowed out of respect before speaking, “I hope you sleep well, sir.” You turn to leave, watching as the doors open for you, and you search to find the room that Madam Xia helped set up for you.

As the Grandmaster said, you had training tomorrow. It was intense training from the crack of dawn when the sun peaked through the icy mountains to late at night when the temperatures dropped drastically. Each day you spent with the Lin Kuei, you grew accustomed to everything. The Grandmaster and you grew close so you no longer mind being by his side. You took the position with more pride now—even if some still didn’t agree.

You thought that you were put into this strange predicament for a reason. You thought your powers being gone was a sign that maybe you weren’t meant to have them from the start. That the familiar connection you felt with the Grandmaster was a sign.

“Can I admit something that may come off as strange, Grandmaster?” You asked before you were about to leave.

“Kuai.” He corrects firmly as he was looking over the papers in front of him.

“I don’t think that’s approt-” Your eyes met him and you felt your cheeks heat at the way he looked at you. So, you corrected yourself. “Kuai, this feels familiar. Like it has happened before.”

You watch as his eyebrows scrunch up in confusion. “Has your memory finally returned?” He questions.

“I don’t think so, but this feels familiar.” You repeated. “As if we’ve met before. I know it’s strange, and I can just be exhausted due to today’s work, but I just thought to tell you for some reason.”

That reason is that you were yearning for him to reaffirm your own thoughts. But he didn’t, so you found yourself explaining further your own thoughts. You stepped further into the room towards him before sighing, “I just feel like we were meant to cross paths for some reason. I was found that night for a reason. My powers are gone for a reason.”

“Powers? I think you just need some rest, Y/N.” He points out before his eyes look back to the things in front of him. “It’s been a long day, and you’ve been out in the cold for hours.”

You watch as his eyes dilute before he’s rambling on about his day. Your heart quickened at the sight of this because your powers actually worked. You thought maybe that wouldn’t come back due to your memory of what happened that night being a big blur. But they did, you dropped Kuai’s hand and stood up frantically. His face scrunches up in worry as he watches you disappear out of the room in a hurry.

As your powers were slowly coming back, you avoided Kuai as much as possible. If you weren’t doing your duties as his handmaiden, you stayed in your room to avoid any other contact. Hell, you thought it was a bit dangerous for you to even communicate with other members of the Lin Kuei. One phrase could cause a person to be under your control. One song by the name of The Siren’s Song could make a person go mad. And you didn’t want to hurt Kuai or what he has built as the Grandmaster of the Lin Kuei.

As you were going to do your nightly duties, you felt everyone staring at you. Some whispering and pointing as you walked toward the kitchen.

Kuai’s voice interrupted your following words to Madam Xia. His head motions for you to follow behind him, and you hurriedly do what you were told. You weren’t sure if you should be confused or angered. With each step, one of the assassins that you were positive could take your life—attempted to follow behind. But Kuai gave them a look to cause them to back down.

You didn’t like how silent he was as you followed behind him. The only thing you can hear is your own footsteps against the stone as you walk by glaring eyes—glaring eyes that feel like daggers with each step you take. You didn’t understand how anyone would believe the lie that you would do such a thing. Poison a man you’ve grown to care for more than you expected. A man that you were in love with. Obviously, you were getting framed—you didn’t know by whom, but you were going to figure it out. You were sure you had mastered your powers to get someone to admit it (even though this was going against Kuai’s wishes).

But you knew he had to take such accusation seriously as the Grandmaster. John Carlton, better known as Johnny Cage, is your partner of four years. The two of you wed in your hometown, and have been going strong just as long. He may be famous, adored by many, but he's still the same man you married. The same man that took your heart, and has kept it ever since.

The two of you trust one-another with your lives, would do anything for one-another. The day you told him about your depression he became more protective, more loving than he already was. He had sat down with you taken your hand in his and gave you a loving speech about never leaving you; even if the thoughts would convince you otherwise.

People would be confused, however; you're married to the Johnny Cage, you have unlimited money at your expense, a lavish house and plenty of food to last a life time. Gifts and limo rides, all the best places you've visited, and everything you've ever needed, so why would there even be depression.

Well even with all of this and more that's how depression works. As hard as you try and get that same happiness from what you used to love on some, if not most days, those same things don't bring that same meaningfulness, same happiness.

The sun slithers in through your half-opened blinds; with a soft groan you rub your eyes. They move overt to the alarm clock crooked on your side-table, and in large easy to read the numbers 10:00 am.

John, currently at work, had left a cute handwritten note on the side-table:

"You're so perfect, I swear I fall more in love with everytime I see you."- a soft chuckle following, though that smile he wears doesn't falter. "...look at you making this movie-star melt."

You giggle and look down, and John laughs softly.

"God you're adorable..."- and he leans down and kisses your cheek. "...now time to go lay down sweets.” without a second thought John scoops you up in his arms and carries you up to the room: he still has some movie makeup left on his face yet regardless he still looks perfect.

The thoughts make you wonder how he could even be with you, but your heart wins and you only melt more knowing he chose you.

John lays you down on the bed, adjusting the pillows and blanket. Then he crawls under the blanket and with one swift movement has wrapped you up in his arms once more, your head pressed against his chest.

He presses a soft kiss to your head and creates more room to be more comfortable while keeping you close; so close you can hear his heartbeat. It's calming.

"So...how have you been sweets? Im so sorry that you’re going through this…it’s bad, huh.” you love how well he can read you. You sigh and start:

"Yeah I haven't been great John. My...depression has been bad, i've been trying to manage it but it only gets worse. I barely left the bed today I know I should have but I...I just couldn't..."

John's heart breaks even more, and he tightens his hold but not uncomfortably. "Oh honey I'm so sorry." and he presses another kiss to your head, it's so...sweet and so calming. "...I may not be going through what you're going through but that doesn't mean you're not, and I'm so sorry you have to deal with this shitty thing."

John sighs softly and closes his eyes. "...but like I always say i'm here for you no matter what and you know what? I'm gonna take a week off work to be here with you-"

"But John-"

"No buts." he hushes you softly. "...the movie can wait, your health and wellbeing is more important. That’s why I wrapped up early to be here for you. So how about we spend the week just lounging around watching cheesy movies in our pajamas.”

Oh you love this man.

"Really?"

He squeezes your hand and smiles, those pearly whites on display.

"Really sweetheart. God if the movie has to be stopped altogether I could care less, because you're my world sweets, and you mean more than some fake movie. So I'm gonna pamper you and show you all the love and attention sweetheart." and he pulls you closer and presses yet another kiss to your head. "...because you deserve it all, and more. My angel."

Shifting your body, you smile. You smile and press a kiss to his cheek which makes him blush a little, and then you put a hand on his cheek, and keep it there. The love in both of your eyes are so evident.

"I love you, so much."

You settle back into his arms and John keeps you close to his chest, to his heart. Your breathing evens out and you find yourself drifting off in his loving embrace; before that happens he whispers an I love you, then, you're out.

John looks down at you so lovingly, and he pulls the blankets up, resting his head on the pillow being careful not to wake you.

He takes another look at you, another "I love you." falling from his lips, then like you John is out. The two of you asleep in one-another's arms, almost like you're the only two people left in this world and nothing else matters.

Imagine you are a treasure hunter or explorer. You travel across the world to find rare,mystical,or even dangerous items or even ancient ruins and places. You've been researching this strange island,curious,you ask of your employers to which the this mysterious island resides. They unfortunately do not know for sure. But they suspect it is either in the south china sea or the east. It's hard to exactly locate or even explain. As the island seems to shift from area to area and sometimes disappear completely from any radar. As if,the island itself has a mind of its own. Creepy. But this doesn't deter you.

You get your grant,gear,and head off. Given to you a map of the rough location of the island you search for. What you may find,you aren't sure. Could be treasures,could be a local who decided to fuck off from society,you chuckle at this thought. Although this could mean danger. Which is why,you brought weapons. The most common logic dictates of a pistol. However,you aren't the one for guns. Plus you've been face to face before with otherworldly things. So a gun won't do good. So instead you opt for a mystical dagger. The dagger of Lung-shii. The dragon dagger. It was given as a gift from a mysterious patron. What it's powers or properties you couldn't quite pinpoint. It was fire magic of some kind,very useful. However it also had an ominous aura around it. As if it speaks to you. Namely the gem at the hilt of the blades handled end.

Many thoughts race through your mind as you are traveling with your group. In a private personal plane,the only other way was a boat,and your last adventure didn't do well with water. And you don't wanna risk get shot overboard with your small crew.

A group of 5 in total,not counting yourself. 3 women,2 men. One was very bear like a burly. A strong man. Heavy beard. Almost a cross between a santa claus type and a wwe wrestler. The other man was an old man,he was from hong kong and a linguistic professor. He was also a translator,he also happened to be a former master at a temple,shaolin perhaps. Though you could understand mandarin and Cantonese dialect. You couldn't read it well. Ah such as life. He often joined your adventures,he was like a grandfather to you. A kind but wise man. You often hanged out inbetween these adventures too and often visited. The 3 women with you. Was a veteran from a group called the special forces. A rag tag group of military officers. They used to be a branch but only used for certain missions and your employers thought she would be a good help. Due to her having previous knowledge of the island. She was here before,with her officers Lt. Sonya Blade and Com. Jaxxson Briggs, but only vaguely remembered....she recalls of horror,a death tournament,and dark magics. Thought you were taken aback,you weren't intimidated,if fact this only entices you to explore further.

The 2nd woman was the pilot of the plane whom stayed behind with the plane. Making sure it stayed in contact with your group. And the 3rd woman....a strange woman with black and red hair. And an odd tattoo. Of a dragon with a dagger running through it. She was with the ex special forces woman. Yeah,you kinda thought about them being part of some underground stuff. But you needed them because of their knowledge of the place.

The old man sat next to you on the plane. Calming your nerves. Reassurance from him always made you feel better. As you approach the island you can feel a shift in the air. It feels odd. The plane lands on an outcropping near the beach shore. As you get off with your companions.

You take in the air. It feels calm oddly. Like you know the place. But you've never been here. It feels welcoming to you. Almost....beckoning. you noticed the little gem at the end of you dagger in its sheeth glow slightly....odd....it never did that before. You brush it off.

You stare at the island before you,lush green foliage. And an old somewhat crumbling staircase. Well....no turning back now. The only way was forward and up.

So up you went. With your group behind you and the ex SF woman. You climb the long and winding staircase. Finally when you reach the top to catch your breath. A door lays before all of you.

An old door,of ancient chinese origin. Red and faded gold lines it. With intricate details of two dragons fighting among a thunderstorm. One black,garnet red and gold. The other white,silver and sapphire blue. It was beautiful.

What lays beyond it.....one can only imagine.

“And then Casey broke his hockey stick on Raph’s shell and Raph spent almost half an hour chasing him around the lair!” Mikey said as he cackled at the memory Leo and Donnie just smiling to themselves while they sat on April’s couch Leo reading and Donnie on his laptop but Raph just huffed in annoyance and rolled his eyes “he’s still not gettin’ off the hook, don’t get it twisted” Raph muttered as he continued to clean his sais. I just laugh along with Mikey “don’t hurt the poor guy! He’s harmless...mostly” i say as i pick up my phone and check the time. 1:28AM. Shit. “Ah shit, i gotta head home guys.” i say as i start to gather my things. “Do you need one of us to walk you home Y/N?” leo asked as he started to close his book. I just shook my head, “Nah im fine going on my own. My house isn’t that far from here. See you guys tommorow maybe?” i say as i start to walk towards the front door. “Hell yeah dudette! We’re still on for our Mortal Kombat match, and you better be ready this time.” Mikey says as he sits on the ciuch backwards just to look and point at me with a playfully serious look. I jokingly roll my eyes, “yeah yeah i’ll be ready...ready to kick your ass” i say confidently and i didnt wait for an answer as i unlock the door and walk out and close it behind me. I walk down the stairs from april’s apartment towards the garage that holds the other residents’ cars. As i make it towards my car something feels...off. It had suddenly gotten colder and eerie. I hesitantly brush that feeling off and hop inside my car and drive off.

‘My head is pounding...everything hurts so bad...what happened..?’ i think to myself as i slowly start to regain consiousness...i open my eyes and wince at the brighr light that’s above ny head. As ny grogginess starts to wear off a bit i realize my hands were tied to behind my back. “What the hell...?” i just barely rasp out...i must’ve been out for a while. “Oh good your finally awake” an animated voice came over some sort of...speaker? I couldn’t tell. I was in too much pain to care. “Who are you...what do you want.” i ask casually. “Ive watched way too many movies and i already know how this goes, you obviously want something from me whether it be information or some kind of salary” i continue. The animated voice is quiet for a moment before the person on the other side starts to laugh sinisterly. “You’re a smart one aren’t you? But we don’t want anything from you per se. We want to simply use you as bait” they said casually as if it was the most normal thing to say. Confused i tilt my head to the side “bait? For what?” i question not fully comprehending what they were saying “i thought yiu watched these kinds of movies before doll, maybe you arent as smart as you think you are babes” they say in a teasing tone “the turtles, we know your friends with them. So we’re gonna keep you for a while and lead them here so we can—well you don’t need to know all of that. We just need them here” they said as a hole in the floor appeared and a plate of bland food appeared then a mechanical hand with a fork tried to feed it to me. I refused and kept moving away. The voice sighed “we’re gonna be here for a looooong while my friend”

MIKEY’S POV

“AW COME ON THAT’S THE 5TH TIME IN A ROW MIKEY” Raph shouted as he threw his controller on the ground after losing another round of Mortal Kombat. I threw my head back and let out a loud laugh “THAT’S WHAT YOU GET FOR CHALLENGING THE MASTER” I boasted as I stood up to do a victory dance. “Whateva’ weren’t you n Y/N suppos to be havin’ some sort of match or somethin’” Raph questioned as he folded his arms over his chest and looked towards the lairs enterance. I gasped. I forgot! He quickly ran to my phone and called you it rang 4 times before inevitably going to voicemail so I tried 5 more times before long her inbox was full and I started to worry. Did she flake out on me? Did you forget too? Curious, i went into Donnie’s room where he was working up some concoction. “D-Man have you heard from Y/N anytime today?” i asked asked as i tried to message her instead, if she was unable to answer her phone. Donnie paused and checked his phone, “No, i haven’t heard from her. She would’ve said something if she was busy or something had come up” he said as he started to grt skeptical. “Hey guys, you might wanna look at this” Leo shouted from the living room. Once the brothers arrived they saw that the news was on and the reporter was at a car accident that happened not to far from April’s apartment. “so far no bodies have been found—” the reporter babbled on but none of the brothers listened much further as they soon got a call from the police Chief.

3RD PERSON

“Oh good you guys made it” Chief Vincent said as she saw the 4 terrapins. “What happened” leo said, tone and face ice cold and stern. “There’s been a collision. No bodies were found though surprisingly. No one knows if anyone died or not.” she says as she gives them the pictures detectives have snapped prior to their arrival. Donnie and Leo look through them but Donnie stops on one photo “What is it Donnie?” Leo asks, Donnie hesitantly turns the photo over and shows the car that was completely totaled. “Is that...?” Leo asks, suddenly out of breathe. Donnie nods “seems like it. And from the evidence they managed to get, the black car hit her head on. And the camera footage cuts out before—” “wait did you say black car?” leo interrupts his purple clad brother who just nods his head “what model?” leo asks, blood now boiling. “They say it was a seda—oh fuck” Donnie says as he stops himself; finally realizing what’s going on. “RAPH, MIKEY, WE’RE ON THE MOVE” Leo shouted as all 4 brothers ran up to the roof where Donnie explained what had happened. “So your telling me, the foot crashed into her on the road and kindapped her?! What kinda bullshit?!!” Raph shouted as he looked around at his brothers in anger. Donnie gasped which brought attention to him, “what?” the 3 brothers asked in unison, “i hacked into her phone and got her loctaion shes in some sort of warehouse and it seems like they’re doing more than just kidnapping” he said as he put the audio on speaker. “Tell me where they are bitch, i won’t say it again. A deep voice shouted “I’m not telling you a goddamn thing. I’ll take this shit to the fucking grave if I have to, you ain’t getting a peep out of m–” they heard you say but before you could finish a sharp shriek filled their ear holes. “Im done waiting kill her off. Now” the unknown voiced boomed before Donnie’s connection went dead. “we gotta go. NOW” leo shouted. And with that the brothers quickly made their way to the foots hideout

Y/N’S POV

I’m in so much pain...they’ve kicked me around, waterboarded me, stabbed me, anything you could think of. Just to make me talk, just to get me to spill. But i’m not letting up, not even if this is where my life ends im not saying shit. “So you still won’t talk huh?” the animated voice returned, they had lost their charming words,backhanded compliments and niceness now it was replaced with agitation and venom. “I never fucking will.” i spat back. Not out of confidence but out of loyalty to the brothers. They’re like my family. I’d never put them in danger even if it costs me my life. “Fine then. I guess we’ll have to do this the hard way” they shouted but it was muffled, probably from them gritting their teeth as they spoke, trying not to lash out on a monitor screen and not the real me. Suddenly 3 foot soliders come into my room and untie me but only to place their cold glover hands around my arms in a tight hold that may cause bruising later. We walk down many hallways, passing different doors with different signs and noises of pure agony. Then we went through a huge metal door that held the person behind the voice— a person in upgraded foot gear and shredder. “Finally. We meet in person” the person said as they place their hands on their hips and look at me with manic wide eyes. “Tie her to that pole.” shredder demands and the soliders obey and pull me towards the pole. As im getting tied up i see 4 figures pass by a window above us in my peripheral vision. A smile ghosts upon my lips but i instantly wipe it away, as to not alert shredder. “Now we will only say this one more time woman. Tell us where the turtles are or you’ll meet an untimely death” shredder bellows at me. I struggle to smile but i try to anyway and it comes out looking like a grimace. “I already told you....im not telling none of you a damn thing” I say breathlessly. Shredder growls in annoyance and snaps his fingers soon 2 soldiers and the more advanced soldier surround me one has a knife the other has a needle with some sort of glowing liquid ‘is that what mutagen looks like???’ i question myself but that random thought dies when i make eye contact with the AS (advanced solider) they were spinning the barrel to a loaded pistol..silently humming to themselves as they watched the solider with the knife jam it through the skin on my forearm “AH FUCK” I yell in pain. “Talk Woman or it’ll be more than just a stab.” shredder says as he watched from afar. I open my mouth but before i ciukd say anything 4 glass windows shatters around us and the 4 brothers start kicking ass! Leo and Raph take on Shredder like wild beasts while Mikey rains hell upon the 2 soldiers and Donnie takes on AS “Why did you guys HAVE to come at this time, we were just getting started” AS says as they pull out a double sides scythe and starts to attack Donnie. Donnie flawlessly but clumsily dodged all of her attacks and manages to hit the scythe out of her hand and knock her off her feet. “DONNIE KICK IT TO ME” i yell, Donnie hesitates before listening and shoving th weapon towards me. I squat down and carefully pick up the sharp part and start to cut through the rope they had me restrained in while trying not ro move my arm too much to no cause the knife to fall out. When i got free I immediately hobbled over towards a spot that was out of sight from the soldiers and shredder. I silently clutched the arm with the knife in it and applied pressure to it. After a while everyone was down and the turtles tie them up and wait for the police. I slowly crawl out from my hiding spot and search for Donnie. When i find him he’s looking at the needle one of the soliders had. “Donnie a little help please?” i ask as i hold up my stabbed arm. He turns his attention towards me and panics “ah shit um let me see what i have!” he says as he takes his backpack off and starts to frantically rummage through it. He takes out his med kit and starts to examine the wound. “Its gonna need stitches. I won’t be able to stitch it but when the paramedics and police come they can take you to the hospital.” TBC...

Mortal Kombat 11 x reader: Chapter 12 End of an era

That person is Liu Kang, but he has drastically changed in appearance. He appears fully human, but his hair is now grey, his eyes glowing electric blue, his tattoos generating electricity and his body generating flames. Raiden's hat is on his back, and his trousers now have a blue shade on them as opposed to red. His bandanna is now metallic and he wears a necklace of beads.

Liu Kang stands to his feet, looking at his outstretched hands, in awe at his new powers. He closes them into fists and puts them back down at his side.

Scorpion, Sub-Zero and Jax all begin to walk forward. Kung Lao teleports onto the deck from his ship and Kitana jumps over from hers, landing next to Kharon. All of them take in the sight of the radically changed Liu Kang.

"Liu Kang?" Asked Sub-Zero "I am..." Liu Kang begins to say before he stops pulsating with electricity and fire, but his eyes are now bright blue, as are his tattoos. "...And I am not" "What happened to Raiden?" Asked Jax "He is part of me. Bound to my soul. He... made me a god. For now, at least" Liu Kang replies

"A god? Incredible" Kitana commented "My revenant counterpart. I have absorbed his knowledge of the Keep, of Kronika's plan. I know where to find the hourglass. We can beat Kronika" Said Liu Kang "Is Lady (Name) and Calithea safe?" Kung Lao asked worried "They both are unharmed. Lady (Name) is chained and cuffed as is Calithea" Liu Kang Replied.

Back in Kronika's Keep, both she and Cetrion look upon the chair that once bound Liu Kang. Kronika is wide-eyed and more perplexed than we have ever seen her before "Out of desperation comes invention. I had not thought it possible for Raiden to surprise me" Says Kronika as she addresses Cetrion without even looking at her "Our success is no longer certain. We must make haste"

They walk back to the hourglass and begin manipulating the sands once again all the while (Name) watches them as she holds Calithea close to her chest.

Back on the shoreline, Kharon's flagships have almost reached land. Waiting for them is the Netherrealm army, and the oni demons roar in anticipation and charge the shoreline. The ships continue forward, not decelerating in the slightest.

"BRACE FOR IMPACT!" yelled Kharon.

The flagship touches down on the shore without issue. A boarding plank is lowered as the Netherrealm army reaches the ships. Before the demons can climb up it, Sub-Zero slides down, using his ice reaches powers to freeze the ground beneath him and the demons below him. He lands on the shoreline and uses an ice axe to chop a frozen demon into shattered remains, then immediately decapitates another one.

Scorpion teleports from the ship deck in a burst of flame, coming out in the midst of the army, sending several onis into the air in flames. He punches down one oni, then rips the heart out of another.

The ship containing the Special Forces crashes into a dock, smashing it into a splintered ruin. With a loud cheer, the vanguard runs down the boarding plank. Three soldiers on deck chuck grenades at the army, which blow up and kill several demons in one go. More demons charge as Cassie, Jacqui and the younger Jax zipline down to the shore. The oni charging them are cut into bloodied strips by the firepower of Jax's assault rifle, Jacqui's wrist cannons and Cassie's pistols.

Another ship crashes onto the shoreline, and Kung Lao and the Shaolin monks all acrobatically leap off the ship, landing expertly on the ship's large oars on its starboard side. They run across the oars and touch down on the ground to face the Netherrealm army. Kung Lao drops an oni with a jumping spin-kick, drops another with a punch and roundhouse kick, and a third with a snap kick.

The Netherrealm army also charged the last ship touching on land. On that ship, Kitana lifts a hand containing her bladed fans into the air. With a loud cry, she points with her fan to the army and leaps ashore, joined immediately by Baraka, Sheeva and Jade, and a second later followed by the soldiers, Tarkatan and Shokan they all command. The Outworld army pumps themselves up with chants as the Netherrealm army charges toward them, and with one final cry, they all run forward, joining the battle.

Kitana blocks a blow from a spiked club with her blades, throwing the weapon aside and cutting into the demon who wielded it. She knocks it down with a jumping high kick as Sheeva charges two demons, grabs their heads and bashes them together, knocking them down in a spray of blood, before backhanding another charging demon aside with her two right hands.

Back at the Special Forces boat, Cassie, Jacqui and Jax cut down countless demons approaching them with their gunfire, but it seems like they will soon be overwhelmed. But above them on the boat, the elder Jax stands on the edge of the bow. He leaps off, his fist charging with energy. Just as the Netherrealm army is about to swarm over them, Jax lands on the pier deck and smashes his fist into the ground. The resulting shockwave blasts the entire front ranks backward several feet, clearing the area. Jax looks back toward his daughter.

"This mean you're back?" Jacqui asked hopeful "This means I'm sorry, Jacqui. And hell yeah, I'm back" He replied

Jacqui immediately hugs her dad, to the delight of Cassie and the younger Jax. The moment is quickly broken though as the Netherrealm army finishes regrouping and charges once again. Cassie and Jacqui open fire once again, while both Jax's begin punching and kicking down every demon that steps too close to them. Even so, countless more demons make their way forward.

But all of them fail to notice a disturbance in the clouds above. The clouds swirl in toward what appears to be a red glow in the sky. The light soon becomes bright enough that both Jax's, Jacqui, Cassie and even the Netherrealm army look up to the sky in shock and wonder.

At the center of the red vortex is Liu Kang, charging up with lightning. On a balcony of Kronika's Keep, the revenants Kitana and Kung Lao also watch this spectacle, flanked by two demons. As the clouds turn and swirl around him, Liu Kang gathers his focus, bursts into flames and torpedos down into the center of the Netherrealm army guarding the gates to Kronika's Keep.

The impact he causes on landing is akin to a nuclear explosion, with the entire area surrounded by white for a few moments.

When the smoke clears, Liu Kang stands alone. The Netherrealm army in the field is simply gone, vaporized into nothingness. Only a small defensive force of Netherrealm oni survived to defend the gate, while a large number still waited within the Keep itself. Behind Liu Kang, the gathered army of heroes all cheer the display of power and charge forward toward the gate of the Keep.

With the Earthrealm / Outworld armies approaching behind him, Liu Kang strides toward the gates, his arms crackling with electricity. The remnant of demons roars in defiance and charges, to which Liu Kang responds by blasting lightning from his hand. The electricity catches one demon and then immediately chains the others around it. Within moments, all the demons have been fatally electrocuted.

Liu Kang walks up to the gates, with all the heroes following after.

"Stand back"

They all wait as Liu Kang charges up his hand with fire. He strikes the gate, and the impact is so devastating that on the other side, the frontlines of the Netherrealm army are thrown into the air from the massive explosion that occurs.

The army of heroes charges toward the keep, Liu Kang now taking to the skies once more. As he flies off to deal with the defenders near the back, Kitana stabs a charging demon multiple times with her bladed fans, knocking it down with a roundhouse kick. She slashes another demon several times over, almost completely eviscerating it, then stabs a third demon four times over, finishing with a stab straight through the top of its skull.

Kung Lao palm strikes a demon twice in the chest, then splits it in two vertically with a swipe of his bladed hat.

The younger Jax blocks a demon's punch and punches it twice, leaving it for his elder self to finish off. He swipes at another demon that actually manages to duck his attack and punch him back, but the elder Jax then charges in and hits two shots to the ribs that stun the demon. Younger Jax recovers and the two Jax's both wind up their fists and punch the demon on both sides of its head, completely obliterating it.

The heroes make their way to the Keep's entrance, and we cut to inside where the revenants Kung Lao, Kitana and Jade all run into the room where the hourglass is kept "Is the battle lost?" Asked Kitana "Victory is still at hand. The hourglass is nearly ready" Kronika replied.

She turns to the revenants.

"You will prevent Liu Kang's interference. But you will require more assistance"

Time energy flows from her hands toward the revenants. On the other side of the doorway, Liu Kang, Kitana and Kung Lao approach.

"Whatever happens, I am honored to fight at your side" Said Liu Kang "Likewise, Liu Kang," said Kitana as Kung Lao placed a hand on his shoulder saying "Me too, brother."

"May the Elder Gods protect us" Said Liu Kang.

He charges his hand up with fire and punches the doorway. This time, the door melts away rather than blowing up. The three heroes step through to find Kronika and Cetrion still manipulating the hourglass and (Name) on the floor chained with her daughter, but they are stopped by the appearance of revenant Jade, Kung Lao and Kitana, all wearing new attire in the same white-gold of Kronika's clothing. Kronika looks over to Liu Kang.

"Liu Kang, God of Thunder and Fire. Combined with Raiden has the benefit of novelty. But it is also too little, too late" Said Kronika while (Name) and Calithea looked in shock at Liu Kang.

She turns back to the hourglass and pours her energy into it. The revenants move forward slightly, but don't attack. The sands in the hourglass begin to flow upwards as Liu Kang runs forward to attack, but as he does so, Kung Lao and Kitana come to a frozen halt. As Liu Kang stops and turns around, they begin to move in reverse.

"Kitana! Kung Lao!" he calls out as he tries to Kitana's hand, but is unable to stop her from moving backward. To his dismay, he can only watch as time starts to unwind, and with it, both Kitana and Kung Lao step back through the door, which unmelts and seals itself once again. Liu Kang looks back toward Kronika and the revenants, unaffected by the reversal of time.

(Name) growls and glares up at Kronika "Cheating bitch! What? Can't handle a fair fight!?" she snaps at her but Kronika only glances at her momentarily before returning her attention to the hourglass.

We cut to the scenes from before where the armies of Earthrealm and Outworld collided with the Netherrealm army, only now these scenes are being rewound. The Outworld army jumps back on their ship in reverse, the Shaolin monks leap backward on the oars of their ship, and the pier docks are reformed as Kharon's ships rewind and undo the crash damage they inflicted. Scorpion teleports in reverse back onto his ship, while Sub-Zero undecapitates and unshatters the frozen demons from earlier, sliding backwards to his ship. Kharon's ships sail off in reverse, and the Netherrealm army runs backward from the shoreline.

Back in Kronika's Keep, Liu Kang steels himself. Kronika looks over at him.

"Raiden's gift shields you from the power of the hourglass. Regardless, your allies are gone, while mine remain to defend me" She motions to the revenants.

"Finish him!"

Jade and Kitana charge Liu Kang at the same time. He parries Jade's staff with his hands and ducks under a swipe but walks into a roundhouse kick from Kung Lao. As Liu Kang staggers back, he manages to block an ax kick from Kitana but takes a sidekick to the stomach from her when she counterattacks. Kung Lao immediately strikes him in the face with another roundhouse kick, then Jade hits him in the knee with her staff and twirls around to smash it into his chest.

Liu Kang remains on his feet as the revenants come in again. He catches Kitana's hand before she can swipe him with her bladed fan and blocks Jade's staff with his other arm, but this leaves him open to Kung Lao, who blasts him with a barrage of fists to his sternum. With Liu Kang stunned, Kung Lao steps back and delivers a sidekick to the sternum that knocks Liu Kang backward, sending him crashing hard to the ground.

"Liu!" (Name) calls out worried as she struggles against the chains. Calithea slips out of her and gets up running "Fire man!" she calls out (Name) worried even more "Cali! No!" (Name) yells jumping to her feet, pulling at her chains and cuffs, trying to free herself.

For a moment, Liu Kang writhes on the floor but struggles to his feet. The revenants remain in fighting stances. Liu Kang closes his eyes to focus... and hears the voice of Raiden.

"Earthrealm's Jinsei flows within you. Let it fuel your fire"

He opens his eyes again, and now they sparkle with electricity. His face etched with fierce determination, Liu Kang looks to the heavens and roars with fury. Lightning strikes his body and fire explodes out of it once more. He shifts into a fighting stance, dispelling the fire and electricity as the three revenants charge him again.

Kung Lao attacks first with a barrage of punches, but Liu Kang parries them all, as well as some staff strikes from Jade. He then blocks a high kick from Kitana and another from Kung Lao, dodging between strikes from Kitana's fans. He grabs Kitana's hand as she tries to stab him, then steps forward and judo throws her to the floor. Before she can recover he punches her in the face, knocking her unconscious.

Liu Kang then throws a roundhouse kick that counters a palm strike from Kung Lao, blocks some more punches and lands a straight punch to Lao's face, sending him reeling back. Kang turns to his side as Jade tries to flank him, deflecting her staff attacks with his fists and feet. He jump-kicks her in the face, punches Kung Lao again when he tries to charge in and blasts him in the chest with a fireball, knocking him down.

Jade tries to stab him with her staff, but Liu Kang dodges around it, punches her in the face, then takes her staff with both hands and wrenches it downward. As Jade staggers forward, Liu Kang knees her in the face, knocking off her mask. He then twirls the staff around - taking Jade with it - and forces it against her throat, while he grabs her head from behind and pushes it down against her staff.

It's not long before Jade begins to struggle for breath, and she falls to her knees. As she lets go of her staff, Liu Kang leans downward and springs back with a devastating knee strike to the back of her neck. The blow is so powerful that Jade's staff breaks in two from the impact, and the revenant assassin collapses on the floor, killed instantly by the strike.

Liu Kang throws the broken pieces of Jade's staff to the floor and assumes another fighting stance. He addresses Kitana, who has just begun to pick herself off the floor.

"Now stand down! I have no wish to harm you.

"Harm me?! You already KILLED me! My fate was sealed the moment I joined you at Raiden's side. It's a mistake I won't repeat in the New Era"

They fight. Even with Kitana's Edenian speed and thousands of years of battle experience, Liu Kang had bested her before. And even with the power of Kronika in her revenant form, it proves to be no match for the Fire God that is Liu Kang. Taking advantage of his newfound abilities, he quickly finishes the fight and leaves Kitana down on the ground.

"Our friendship was no mistake"

He looks over to Kung Lao, who has also started to rise from the floor "Your ego knows no bounds!" Said Kung Lao. Liu Kang walks toward the revenant "I did not ask for this. It was thrust upon me" Liu Kang tried to reason with him "It should have been ME, Liu Kang, from the beginning! Thanks to Kronika, it will be"

They fight. While Kung Lao has lost none of the speed and ability that carried him to victory many times in life, and is powered up further by Kronika's machinations, it turns out to be his ego that is too big for him. The Fire God Liu Kang takes the fight to the revenant and defeats him in short order.

With Kung Lao turn, Liu Kang turns to Kronika.

Unknown to him Kitana slowly got back up and prepared to attack him from behind when a large ball of fire slammed into her, knocking her to the floor, head first, and rendering her unconscious, Liu Kang looked at the now unconscious Kitana then to (Name).

But (Name) was still shackled she looked behind him in disbelief "That...wasn't me" she whispered wide-eyed. Liu Kang looks back behind him shocked the fireball still remained in one place but slowly extinguished. All that stood there was Calithea, glaring at the fallen Kitana, without a single injury and a few embers on her skin. She points at Kitana "That was for killing my mommy and trying to hurt mama's friend!" she shouted. Liu Kang walked over to her and petted her hair smiling "Well done, little one" He said making her giggle as he picked her up. Calithea looks at her mother and laughs "Look, mama!" She says waving her hands "I'm just like you!" (Name) tears up and smiles "Yeah baby. Just like me" she says softly. Liu Kang walks to (Name) and unbinds her. Calithea leaps into her mother's awaiting arms happily.

Liu Kang turned again to Kronika "Still, you are alive" She said "Yes, Kronika. You were right to fear mine and Raiden's powers combined" He replied "A demi-god's power cannot rival that of an Elder God. Cetrion!"

Kronika steps aside to reveal Cetrion - who rather than the green outfit she wore earlier, is now decked out in red, with glowing eyes to match. Her new attire makes her look similar in appearance to a succubus "As you wish, Mother" Says Cetrion.

Cetrion throws fireballs at Liu Kang which he dodges and flips over. Liu Kang shoots a fireball of his own which Cetrion blocks. She shoots off a blast of wind that Kang cartwheels to avoid and another which he ducks under. She then throws a roundhouse kick that shoots a spark of ice, which he blocks but sends him back several feet. Liu Kang recovers quickly and jump kicks the air, shooting a fireball from his leg that Cetrion barely ducks under. She shoots another fireball that Kang ducks from, and he launches another roundhouse kick that shoots a fireball that catches her in the face, sending her onto her hands and knees. She stands again quickly "You match me step for step," She says.

She kicks the air again, sending out a fireball and an ice blast. Liu Kang dodges both projectiles and counters with a lightning blast that electrocutes the Elder Goddess, knocking her to the floor. Behind her, Kronika stares on at Liu Kang, eyes wide with fear as Cetrion struggles to rise, still being wracked with electricity.

(Name) and Calithea stands back. (Name) doesn't interfere. Something inside her tells her to stay back just like at the collisium when she let Kitana face off against Shao Kahn. Calithea watches 'fire man' fight Cetrion.

"Because your heart is not in the battle, Cetrion. You fight for your mother's vision. But as a goddess of virtue you know that her desired balance is folly" Liu Kang says

As Cetrion stands up, Kronika walks over to her "Heed me, Cetrion! He lacks our vision and wisdom!" She says. Cetrion turns away from her, clearly conflicted "Please. No virtue is served by condemning the realms to endless war" Liu Kang implores her. Cetrion looks back at Kronika for a moment, then steels herself, facing Liu Kang once again.

"The greatest virtue is abiding my mother's will, Liu Kang. I cannot fail her"

They fight. With her powers over nature and all of its elements, Cetrion should indeed be a match for the Fire God Liu Kang. But the battle does not sway that way, because Liu Kang is also the God of Thunder and he takes full advantage of the internal conflict raging in Cetrion's mind. Slipping past her attacks and into her defenses, Liu Kang manages to do the impossible and overpower the Elder Goddess, knocking her to the floor.

"Your heart betrays you, Cetrion"

Laying on the ground, Cetrion looks over to Kronika "I have failed you" She says pitifully "Dearest Cetrion, you have done admirably" What little forced compassion is in Kronika's voice dispels as Cetrion rises to her feet "Yet there is one final service to perform" She says. Cetrion looks downcast but also resigned to her fate "Yes, Mother. I understand" She said defeatedly.

She raises her hands to the heavens and cries out. Her form disintegrates into a glowing ball of multicolored light that flies into Kronika. The power that Cetrion wielded now flows out of Kronika "You will be exalted in the New Era, Cetrion"

"What is wrong with you?"

Kronika and Liu Kang turn to (Name), who stares at Kronika with disgust "She...she was your daughter...Your child, your creation and you used her to fill the fucking hourglass?" She said her rage slowly building. Calithea gets out of her mother's arms and stands next to her "She did EVERYTHING you asked of her, even if it meant going against everything she stood for, every moral she had, and you didn't even care nor hesitate to use her very life for your selfish desires! have you no shame?!" She yells. Kronika looked indifferent "I am her mother. It was her honor to do this" She replied. (Name) growled as she lit her hands up with fire "You...don't deserve the title of mother!"

Liu Kang and (Name) throw a fireball each, but Kronika effortlessly bats it aside. He looks at his hands in confusion for a moment as does (Name), but puts it aside and charges her. Kronika blasts a storm of sand from her palms, striking Liu Kang and knocking him down "And YOU, Liu Kang, have FAILED!" Kronika said.

She turns to the hourglass and uses her time powers once again. The sand continues to flow upwards, increasing in speed. (Name) picks up Calithea again and clutches her to her chest afraid for her daughter's life as Calithea cries and buries her face in her mother's chest. Liu Kang rises to his feet and Kronika looks over at him again "History rewinds, giving way to the New Era!" Kronika said "NO!" Liu Kang exclaimed. He looks at (Name) and her scared expression and how Calithea is crying in fear. He runs to them and brings them both into his arms to shield them as much as he can as (Name) buries her head in his shoulder.

Around them, Kronika's Keep suddenly fades away, as they and the hourglass are transported through time and through realms, emerging in pre-historic Earthrealm. They appear in a luscious and beautiful forest, with a dead dinosaur in the background. The area surrounding the hourglass is distorted, seemingly opening out into space. Kronika hovers above Liu Kang, slowly coming down to ground level.

Liu Kang lets go of (Name) and Calithea and walks away from them far enough so that they won't be included in the fight. He sends (Name) a confident smile before he faces Kronika.

"The realms as you knew them are undone. Erased. You cannot save a future that no longer exists! There is only the New Era!"

They fight. The battle is truly epic, with neither Liu Kang nor Kronika getting any clear advantage for the majority of it. For what seems like an age, the newly born Fire God and the architect of the Mortal Kombat universe fight with every power they have, but eventually, Liu Kang prevails and knocks Kronika to her knees. She struggles to her feet.

"The realms will not fight your endless wars"

"Fight me further and your friends are lost. They have no future unless I create it" Kronika says getting to her feet

"The future you offer is not worth living! It will NOT come to pass!" Liu Kang exclaims.

They fight. Once again, the battle proves to be a meeting of two unstoppable forces. But this time Liu Kang gets the upper hand and knocks Kronika to her knees.

"With or without you, I will restore the timeline!"

Kronika growls in anger and rises to her feet. She telekinetically hurls another two asteroids at Liu Kang, but he kicks them to pieces.

"Sculpting the Sands of Time requires great power and skill. You have neither, Liu Kang. You may be a god, but I am a Titan!

They fight. Once again, the battle proves to be a meeting of two unstoppable forces. But, with (Name) and Calithea shouting words of encouragement, Liu Kang overpowers Kronika and knocks her to her knees.

As Kronika rises, Liu Kang charges up a fireball and blasts her straight in the chest. He shoots three more, each striking the helpless Kronika, before charging up a final blast that shoots out from his hands like a flamethrower. The blast engulfs Kronika entirely, and when it ends we see that her entire body has molded into what looks like molten organic glass.

Liu Kang approaches the now crystalline form of Kronika. He chops her outstretched hand, shattering her arm to the elbow, then repeats the motion with her other arm, shattering that too. Growling in fury, he roundhouse kicks her across the face, and her entire head explodes into pieces. He then contemptuously pushes down what remains of her body, letting it break apart completely upon impact with the ground.

With the Titan of Time lying dead at his feet, Liu Kang closes his eyes, trying to find focus again when he's engulfed in a hug. He opens his eyes to see, both, (Name) and Calithea hugging him smiling. He smiles back and returns the hug "She is gone. There is nothing to fear anymore" He said pulling back enough to see (Name)'s face "We're just happy you're alive and well, Liu," She said smiling. Calithea smiles up at him "You're ok, Fire man! No more bad lady!" She says showing off her little fangs in her smile. He chuckles and pets her hair "Correct, little one. No more bad lady"

"Our work is finished, Liu Kang.

Liu Kang turns around. Behind him stands Raiden...but something is different. Raiden's attire is the same as before, but his voice no longer reverberates with power.

"Lord Raiden" Liu Kang said surprised as he let go of (Name). Raiden looks up at him. There is no electric blue glow in his eyes. His pupils are brown and look entirely human "I am merely Raiden, now. You have proven worthy to take my place as the new Protector of Earthrealm, once it is restored" Raiden said "You honor me, Raiden" Liu Kang replied as he clasped his hands and bowed "The honor is mine, Lord Liu Kang. The sands of time are yours to shape. It falls upon you to architect a new history" Said Raiden before he turned to (Name) with a remorseful look in his eyes.

"Lady (Name). I know I do not deserve to even ask for your forgiveness for all the harm and pain I have put you through the years" Raiden said with sorrow before a hand was placed on his shoulder "I forgive you Raiden...Yes, it hurt for many years but I grew stronger because of those actions. so please don't beat yourself up over it" S.he said smiling at him as he returned the smile. (Name) looked to Liu Kang "time to give the realms the histories they deserve, Liu" (Name) said smiling

"The fate of all realms... in my hands? Raiden, I cannot do this alone" Liu Kang said slightly nervous "I shall advise you for as long as my mortality allows. But have no doubt, you are up to the task" Raiden replied "As will I. We won't leave you alone while we still exist" (Name) said with a look of determination and Calithea giggled looking up at him.

"Then together, let us begin" Liu Kang said determined

As the four of them turn to the hourglass, the camera pans up into the shining cosmos of space. The future may be uncertain, but it looks hopeful.

Cut to black.

(This isn't the end of the story just yet. I still have to do the Aftermath DLC because its been stated that it's canon and leads into the next game Mortal Kombat 1. It'll Take some time since it's going to be hard to insert the reader and not have her or Calithea cross paths with her past self)
