Mornings With Connor
Pairing: Connor rk800 x Reader
Fandom: Detroit: Become Human
Warnings: Some references to smut
Slowly, the world woke you up. You opened your eyes to the sun streaming through the curtains, and Connor gazing at you.
"Good morning...love."
You could tell that him using the word 'love' was a very thought-out decision. You smiled at the effort. "Morning, baby." You leaned forward, kissed his nose, and watched his cheek turn a light shade of blue. You got out of bed to start gathering your clothes that were strewn about the night before.
Connor sat up in bed. "Do you...have to go so soon?"
"Unfortunately, I do," you informed, "Today's a two-show day at the theater...I'll be out all day. Sorry." You spared him a guilty look.
He sat up a little more. "No, it's okay. You're doing something you love, right?"
Your eyebrows quirked up, and you crawled onto the bed, toward Connor. "I'd rather be doing someone I love." You drew your boyfriend in for a kiss.
When you parted from him, Connor chased your lips for a moment before backing down. He looked uncomfortable. "Uhm...Y/n?"
It was rare for Connor to hesitate like that, so he had your full attention.
He went on, "I've noticed that you've spent every night here the past two weeks, and I was wondering..."
"Yes, Connor?" you encouraged when he trailed off.
He was quiet for a moment more. It was like he was having a heavy debate inside his head. "Would you like to move in with me?" he finally asked. His words were quick, like he was forcing them out.
The question caused you to gasp. You were taken aback. Your mind went blank.
"Please, don't be frightened by the question," Connor urged when you didn't say anything right away. "I would hate to do anything to hurt our relationship, but I've done research on couples, and it is around this point that most move in together."
"Yeah, it is. Isn't it?" A smile started to appear on your face.
He went on, "Plus, I can't exactly say that I'm opposed to the concept when actually, I'm all for it."
You were grinning ear-to-ear. "I am, too."
Tension released from Connor's shoulders. "You are?"
"Of course I am, sweetheart!"
Connor laughed like he couldn't believe you had said yes. "This is amazing news, Y/n!" He tackled you with a kiss on the bed. He was then laying on top of you.
"I know, sweetheart." You giggled when you broke the kiss. You stroked his cheek. "I love you so much."
Connor leaned down to give you another quick kiss. He pressed his forehead against yours when he parted. "I love you too, baby." That time, the petname seemed far less premeditated.
For a moment, you relished in the closeness with Connor. Then, you opened your mouth. "I really don't want to end this moment, but I really gotta go."
"Right." Connor's eyes went wide, and he got off of you. "Well, have a good day at work...sweetheart." There was that conscious effort again.
You loved it. You loved him. You gave him a quick kiss goodbye. "Love you, baby."
"Love you, too," Connor replied as you headed for the door.

Prompt 100
“What are you, a Kent?”
It’s a saying in the world of the supernatural. A well-known one even. See, several, many generations back, no one quite knows when, the Kent family managed to run afoul of a particularly nasty creature who laid a curse upon them. The original wording, no one quite knows either, but the gist, everyone is aware of. For no firstborns will be born to them before they already have one.
It was supposed to be airtight in a way, a curse that would end the entire bloodline really. For a child to exist before they could have a child? How could that be?
Well. That curse had… backfired. It had backfired massively. Most, at least back when blood was everything, didn’t exactly ponder things like adoption to those outside of their own bloodline. The Kents however, lived in a very simple village, one that had disease spread through it often back then, leaving families childless and children parentless.
What were they to do but take them in? And so they had a son, many sons and daughters even, before their firstborn. Now of course, most would simply dismiss it afterwards. After all, that was the end of the story, isn’t it?
Well, no. See, the curse was a family-line curse, a just in case perhaps, that meant that each generation could not have any children until they had children. Perhaps it should have ended there, but well. It didn’t.
Kents are a strange breed in the world of the supernatural, known for having a… bit of an adoption problem. If any child or babe were to be left near their land, one can be assured the family line would take them in as their own.
Fae, demon, human, changeling, satyr, cyclops, half-breeds, werewolf- it didn’t matter. A Kent would gladly pick the child up and raise it as their own. And now, they could add aliens to that long, long list in the family line.
And really, perhaps with this context, is it really surprising that when one Clark Kent, said alien, opens his door to a basket on his doorstep holding a trio of godlings, he takes them in with no questions asked?

Markus as warm dawn, the new birth of day, the first soft light that touches the cold earth, waking the world from twilight or he could be the sun, no not that warm sunshine in summer but the sun that shines bright with fury and rage that burns anything in its way till all is ashes
Connor as the moon, not the moon that represented shadows of the night, but the moon that shines through darkness with stars around brightening this gloom or he could be cold winter, dull, unforgiving freeze, unsympathetic like tall bitter glacier, frostbite that slowly eating you away, piercing like a hunter that hunts not for survival but a hunter with a hollow chest instead of a heart
Depends on the path you choose for them

I only recently discovered you art but you're honestly such an inspiration !! also I love your ocs they seem so interesting, so I just wanted to ask what happened to connor's (I think that's his name) knee? I saw in one of your art pieces there was a scar and I'm kinda curious now lol
eheheh oh what a fun ask thank youuu anon! yes that’s beloved boy connor and yes he has a scar on his left knee! lore dump under cut bc i can never shut up
(i’ve only drawn him full body twice lol so i didn’t have the scar design down on the first pass but u can see i did at least hint at it)
the thing about connor is that he is one overly amped up middle child who craves attention in any form that comes in. he views every person he meets as a rival of some kind and that means he can always “win” in any situation he finds himself in. my beloved scottish infantrymen are all on a rugby team together before they are conscripted and so they get into a lot of physical contact with others and collect various nicks and bruises. connor usually takes this a bit further and occasionally gets into full on altercations because he can’t stand the concept of losing in any capacity to someone lol
before he was on his current team with all of the boys he got into a nasty fight with a teammate on a previous team and that’s how he gets the scar on his knee! a bunch of the team went out for drinks and some playful banter thrown connor’s way got taken poorly (of course it did) and things escalated into a full on bar fight. bottles were thrown, fists were thrown, connor ended up scrapping on the ground with some guy and scraped the absolute shit out of his knee on pavement (force of impact with ground + glass on ground + the ground on the ground) in the midst of everything. he tore up his trousers and his kneecap and his mom was really pissed at him and he got kicked off the team right then and there (in case you are wondering he did technically win the fight) (he only manages to keep playing rugby bc he and peter (another oc) are longtime family friends and peter felt enough pity for connor to offer him a spot on his team) (connor is a really good rugby player despite having the personality of a cactus that is also on fire)
but that’s the gist of it :) connor my beloved you make so many problems for yourself!!! thank you so much for asking i love any excuse to talk about my boyssssssss and connor is such a fun package of self imposed rules of masculinity and a desperate need to be seen
