The Moomin series from 1990 Moomin and the ice maiden. For context, the Moomin series is based on the Finnish book series Moomin by Tove Jansson and was made in Japan. It was translated into several languages. This is the Swedish dub but everyone involved talks with an accent common in a specific part of Finland. In this episode Moomin and My wakes up during winter and meet Totiki. They prepare a snow horse for The lady of the cold so she can ride through the night. Totiki tell them that it's dangerous to look into her eyes as you can turn into ice. My is curious and want to see her face up close. Moomin is the hippo looking creature, My is the red head and Totiki is the blonde one.

For a bit of nostalgia, i rewatched the two Moomin episodes from the 90s anime I had on VHS as a kid. One was called Aunt Jane and the entire episode is literally the Moomin family and their neighbours all vying for a piece of wealth from Moominpapa’s rich bossy aunt when she visits. And Moominpapa spends the whole day in a cave to avoid his aunt cos he hates her.

I love hijinks like this
