Did a second playthrough of the TTRPG “A Modern Prometheus” with a friend! Here are some of the characters we made from that game!

okay but frankenstein being interpreted as mary shelley’s processing of her trauma surrounding birth (and the deaths she associates with it (her mother and premature daughter)) makes me go absolutely feral.
like her hatred of her body for not being able to carry her baby to term and her internalised belief that she killed her mother by being born coming across in the creature’s hatred of itself is so powerful.
and victor as an emotional part of her, having lost william, an innocent child that was so loved.
i might write my final paper for this section on this…

Things I’m looking forward to tumblr discovering to when a Frankenstein book club eventually happens: -Frankenstein not being a doctor -Frankenstein is just a huge alchemy dork -Frankenstein showed up at a fancy German university at age 17 carrying his alchemy books and wearing his “ASK ME ABOUT ALCHEMY” t-shirt and riding his car with a “HONK IF YOU LOVE CORNELIUS AGRIPPA” bumper sticker on it and his philosophy professor took one look at him and IMMEDIATELY told him to fuck off -Frankenstein went home in a huff mumbling about professor Krempe’s stupid voice and stupid face and stupid philosophy degree under his breath -the surprise incest subplot

Bad Neighbors
"Doctor, I really must insist that you leave off with this graverobbing business of yours."
"You dare accuse me of graverobbing, Baron?"
"Since I observed you and your assistant plundering the grave of the Widow Sidow just last night, Sir, I believe that I can."
"You misunderstand my objection, Baron. You can hardly accuse me of graverobbing when I watched you call up a corpse entire not three nights gone."
"But that is precisely my point, Doctor. Have you any idea how aggravating it is to summon and bind the blasphemous forces from lightless voids beyond our world, and then discover that one's newly-raised servitor can barely stay upright because someone has removed its ribcage in advance of the ritual?"
"...Ah. Young master Wadsworth. Nevertheless, I must protest that it can hardly be any more irritating than spending the evening disinterring a coffin in search of a particularly worthy set of kidneys, only to find that the body you sought has stalked off into the night whole and entire."
"Ah... Which one was that, if I might inquire?"
"Mistress Farnham, the famous teetotaler. Look, Baron, I've no wish to start some sort of ghoulish feud over resources that by all rights ought to be readily available and in plentiful supply. I must therefore propose that we undertake to coordinate our activities, so that my research and your..."
"Research as well, Good Sir."
"Just so. Very well, so that neither of us is inconvenienced in his particular research."
"It occurs to me also that any overt conflict between us is likely to attract troublesome attention to both of our activities. What exactly do you propose?"
"Merely that we notify each other before we undertake any further illicit nocturnal activities. Should we find that we each desire the same... research subject... then I suppose we could take it by turns."
"I... very well, I accept your proposal, Doctor. I will keep you apprised of my plans, and you will extend the same courtesy to me, and if we find ourselves at cross-purposes we can... negotiate. We will, at least, avoid any unpleasant surprises in this manner, and the citizenry will remain blissfully unaware."
"I am most pleased to have reached a pleasant resolution to our difficulties, Baron. And with that, I fear I must bid you good day-- I have several things in progress that I must check on immediately."
"Indeed, Sir. A good day to you as well."
