i think the answer is i tend to say grape with also a softer ‘guh’ sound, so it almost sounds like two syllables instead of one, so ‘juh-raff’ and ‘guh-rape’ just sound similar enough to me i never noticed until now there is a slight variance in the juh versus guh noise.

this could have been avoided with the ‘jif like the peanut butter’ comparison i’m used to for people debating how gif is pronounced.

Okay, this tree took a while. There were 130+ blogs to catalog, and that was monumentally slow to do. I hope it doesn't take this long for the next tree. Also- ignore my paltry web design skills. I've attempted to input a more dyslexic friendly font option (I'm not dyslexic myself, if anyone with dyslexia wants to inform me if it is better, that would be great), but I'm honestly not that great at HTML. If any JQuery wizards want to help with a few things, I would owe my endless gratitude.

What's next?

After this big tree, I need some quick projects. I'll most likely update Alphidae, then move to the Potatoes or Snoms- haven't decided yet.

Some notes:

Although there have been some questionable things acted out in this family, I do think it has crafted some pretty interesting ideas. @/the-false-sun and @/the-dungeon-core are some of my favorites.

A quick description of the genera:

Systema - Blogs that emulate part of the game system.

Spectaculum - Roleplay blogs contained within or related to the system, usually as some sort of character.

Actus - Roleplay blogs that fit into the box of a conventional video game NPC, or acting as players within the game.

Faventia - The fandom focused blogs of the EPPRBCU.

Moderatus - Blogs emulating the moderators, tech support, and developers of the game.

❔️ Since some posts are circling around again for mogai/coin blogs not being accessible. Let's add in a perspective from one of the disabled person directly affected by this. While also calling attention to editing blogs, many also fall into mogai side blogs. Feel free to reblog, add on, or ask questions that aren't answered here.

What is inaccessible? Well. Fonts first and foremost. With or without plain text as well. Adding that does not stop the font itself from crashing our screen reader and us having to click away from the post anyway. We can't handle the noises it makes, we can't handle that it stops mid way and we can't click on the plain text specifically. Some screen readers can but ours can't. We have to read the whole post out. So please stop using fonts. Even people who dont need a screen reader can't read many of the fonts.

Symbols. There's a huge issue already in the coining and editing community of using symbols that are part of languages but that can be for a different post. This is about the amount. Some symbols break screen readers no matter how much or little it's used. To help make it easier for screen readers and other issues like reading/processing issues. Less is better. You can stop using symbols all together or limit the amount. Don't fill the post with faces and symbols as it's difficult to process. Even with plain text it can be hard to manage if the other parts are flooded with them when scrolling to the plain text.

Coloured text. This is also a huge issue for many disabled people. Is it cute? Sometimes! Can small amounts draw attention to the important part? Like a link or the name? It can. But in moderation. Do not fill your post with a bunch of different colours. It can hurt someone's eyes if the colours are neon or super bright, (there's custom colours we've seen be coded in), it can also make half the post blind in a way to some. Us for example, if every other word is a colour we will not be able to read it. We'll focus only on the white parts. Adding plain text is amazing for this but still remember to be aware of the colours and use before the plain help. As sometimes we can't look at it long enough to find the bottom.

Typing quirks. These are very difficult for screen readers, dyslexia, and other issues some disabled people have. An example being replacing s with z. Like "zhe iz zo cute" (she is so cute). Our screen reader reads that as "z h e i z z o". Now.. you can see why that's so hard to understand. It reads the letters out. This is just an example of the easy tq's. Imagine the ones using symbols, fonts, and a ton of letter changes. It's impossible to read. We have some typing quirks. We understand liking a typing quirk but we will always stop using them for others. The bare minimum is to please translate them no matter the type. Add a plain text. And stop using ones full of fonts.

Great! But why should a pretty look matter more than disabled people being excluded from your blog?

"I'm disabled and don't struggle this much with the blogs"

That's amazing to hear you aren't as limited. But never act like all disabled people work the same. There's different types and needs. It's unfair to assume otherwise.

"I didn't know these were an issue. Am I abliest?"

If you didn't know, then that's okay. Education and asking disabled people how to help is an amazing step. You are only abliest if you learn this and purposely ignore it, or think your blog matters more and continue to do these things.

"What are screen readers?"

They are a disability aid. They read out a message, post or page. They also read out peoples names, usernames and status's on apps like discord, twitter etc. It's used for those who have vision issues/loss, have dyslexia, have light sensitivity issues, or have other reading or processing issues. Some people even use them if they have chronic headaches or pain that makes staring at a screen for long times hard.

"What if I have a disability that causes my spelling or words to be hard to understand? Or what if English isn't my first language"

You aren't abliest for either of those. We understand some people have those influences that can make posts hard to understand. If that's the case we can ask for help understanding from someone else / someone can translate it for us. There's a lot of easy ways to work around multiple disability needs. There's blogs dedicated to going around and adding translations, ids, plain text etc to others posts. They love to help and be tagged in things normally!

My Personal Headcanons for the 13 Cards Characters - Jacks

(Below the cut there will be a description/explanation of the referenced terms/flags. If the information is incorrect or slightly wrong, please let me know so I can edit it.)

• Gabriel

Queer: term used to describe or define a gender identity that is different from cisgender. It is used by many people who feel that their identity is outside the traditional gender binary (man/woman) of our society. They may be non-binary, gender non-conforming, agender, pangender, genderfluid, or another gender identity.

Unlabeled: unlabeled sexuality is the term used to describe a person who does not identify with a particular sexual orientation. This could be because they don't feel that any of the existing labels fit them, or it could be because they simply don't feel the need to label themselves at all.

Autism: formally called autism spectrum disorder (ASD) or autism spectrum condition (ASC), is a neurodevelopmental disorder marked by deficits in reciprocal social communication and the presence of restricted and repetitive patterns of behavior.

Dyslexia: previously known as word blindness, is a learning disability that affects either reading or writing. Different people are affected to different degrees. Problems may include difficulties in spelling words, reading quickly, writing words, "sounding out" words in the head, pronouncing words when reading aloud and understanding what one reads.

Aroace: it means that the person does not feel sexual or romantic attraction. Those on the arroace spectrum may still feel other types of attraction, whether queerplatonic, platonic, or sensual.

BPD: Borderline personality disorder is a mental health disorder that impacts the way you think and feel about yourself and others, causing problems in functioning normally in everyday life. It includes self-image problems, difficulty managing emotions and behavior, and a pattern of unstable relationships.

• Varu/Waru

Demiromantic: describes people who do not experience romantic attraction until they have formed a deep emotional connection with someone, according to the most common definition. Other definitions of this romantic orientation are only experiencing limited romantic attraction, or falling somewhere on a spectrum between aromantic and romantic; the latter definition overlaps with one for grayromantic.

Gay: Used to describe men and women attracted to the same sex, though lesbian is the more common term for women. Preferred over homosexual except in clinical contexts or references to sexual activity.

ADHD: Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a neurodevelopmental disorder. It is frequently diagnosed in childhood and usually persists into adulthood. It is characterized by inattention (failures in the regulation of attention, moderate to severe distractibility, periods of short or excessive attention), hyperactivity (mainly mental restlessness, not in all subtypes) and impulsive behavior (emotional instability and impulsive behaviors, including motor restlessness) that produces problems in multiple areas of functioning, hindering social, emotional and cognitive development.

Bisexual: this term is used to describe a person who experiences emotional, romantic and/or sexual attractions to, or engages in romantic or sexual relationships with, more than one sex or gender.

Demisexual: refers to people who only feel sexual attraction towards someone with whom an emotional bond has previously been established. Demisexual people do not feel sexual attraction without that prior intimacy and emotional connection.

Anxiety (disorder): Anxiety is a feeling of fear, dread, and uneasiness. It might cause you to sweat, feel restless and tense, and have a rapid heartbeat. It can be a normal reaction to stress. The anxiety may give you a boost of energy or help you focus. But for people with anxiety disorders, the fear is not temporary and can be overwhelming. Anxiety disorders are conditions in which you have anxiety that does not go away and can get worse over time. The symptoms can interfere with daily activities such as job performance, schoolwork, and relationships.

Hello! First, I'd like to thank you for this blog, it's really helpful and informative!

Second, I have some questions about image descriptions and plain text:

1.) If an image has an alt text, should I copy and paste it in a post when reblogging or is it accessible as is? What about if there are several images with alt text in a post separated by text? I'm guessing if I post an image myself it's best to have both alt text and a description, but I've seen you do just alt text, so is it enough?

2.) What if another user posted some images and the text under them is generally describing the images but is not marked as image description. Should I write an image description in my post when reblogging? Just say that the images are of what the OP talks about?

3.) If there is a post that is made of multiple additions and reblogs and several undescribed images. Is it accessible to just describe them in order of appearance in my reblog? Or is it confusing and I should just tag it as undescribed instead?

4.) Is plain text needed when any kind of text formatting is applied or are there exceptions? And again, if only some posts in a chain need plain text, is it accessible to just list them all in a reblog or is it confusing?

5.) this one is more minor, but is it ok if my avatar and banner are only described in the pinned post or should I put them in my bio as well?

1.) This one is tricky. As you've noticed, I've decided to consider images with alt text as accessible enough to be on this blog becasue they come with a built-in expandable written ID, and even do it myself when it's short enough. However, some people still very much prefer image descriptions for various reasons. You can also use them together by putting a short description in the alt text that ends by directing people to a longer description (when needed) in the body of the post.

2.) This is what I like to refer to as "functionally described." Once in a while I will reblog something without an image description and tag it #functionally described as an indicator to people that the text in the post fully described the image or images in it.

3.) I usually described them in order, yes.

4.) This one is also tricky. Some will say yes, but there are certain cases, such as headings, where I've yet to encounter someone who benefits from making a smaller plain text version of the large text. I hope some day to meet one, because in theory they exist. I am also a bit more lax with things like bold or italics in moderation, because the research suggesting that can hamper readability for those with dyslexia is really more for huge chunks for text. But again, doesn't necessarily hurt!

5.) That one is up to you! I do it in my bio to make it as easy to get to as possible, but I think a pinned posts is good too. Honestly, I wish they'd let us add alt text to it, it would be a good use for it.

I am dyslexic, unfortunately this was something I only found out a few years ago (my mother always knew, she just didn't want to tell me for self esteem reasons). It's hard to say if I have moderate or severe dyslexia. Moderate or severe dyslexia just means the level of severity of the difficulties you may have. There is no hard and set rules as to cut off points because there are different issues that need to be taken into consideration.

I love gold and rose gold over silver. Goes better with my skin lmao.

Has anxiety but doesn’t fully understand why

Insomnia caused by ruminating on EVERY potential social faux par he has EVER committed

Social mimic! People watcher. Goes against the common belief that autistics don’t know how to read people and is exceptional at it because he over analyses every social situation to ensure that he is not stuffing it up. Pretends not to be serious to other AND himself so any stuff up doesn’t hit so hard and also uses it to distract others from the fact that he is still figuring the situation out.

Fake it till you make it!

COMICS!!! And Lou Jitsu and JUPITER JIM!!! SPINs Will pace in circles reciting lines when overwhelmed. ‘Hot Soup Ha Ha Hot Soup Ha Ha Hot Soup Ha Ha...’

Magic and Illusionists SPINs- Learned a lot about reading people’s tells and how to deflect attention from the great illusionists.

Co ordination takes effort and sometimes he loses track of where his body is but it is something he has worked at because he has to be better than Donnie at something HE HAS TO WIN!

Tends toward shutdowns, though meltdowns tend to be quiet and more implosive/self injurious, bites himself, hits himself in the head with his fists sort of thing.

Hyposensitive to pain- gets hurt and doesn’t realise.

And touch similarly gets dirty and doesn’t realise he needs a shower because he doesn’t notice the mud/dirt stuck to him.

Sensory issues with slimy things that move, as in it’s fine until it moves (that time he cut Warren Stone in half).

Likes quite and dimly lit spaces to decompress in, also weighted blankets = sensory bliss.

Difficulty moderating voice volume.

Can have difficulty with empathy especially with those he is not close to.

Dyslexia - comics are easier than books to figure out what is going on than a WALL OF TEXT.

Collects cookbooks, (especially one with all the pretty food pics) and orders them by the spine colour. He knows where every one is exactly where each recipe is. With new recipes he has to read the recipe and have it planned out in his head and on the bench before he starts. If someone distracts him he loses track of where what when and how he is up too and has to start over.

Raptor hands!

Repetitive Motion stims- sleeps in a hammock.

Can’t multi task (I didn’t want to burn the risotto). 

Not great at reading people on the fly, but understands a LOT or the theory. Given time to think about and process a situation he will figure it out. Best out of all of them at understanding his own emotions because he has worked at it.

Meltdowns. Loud and explosive.  Bad ones are the kind of wreck everything in the room. Mostly though it is a lot of crying and yelling and banging his fists on things.

Thinking about how I want more dyslexia representation, especially for someone like myself, with moderate dyslexia. The very little bit I've seen in characters is very severe, I'd like to see what I have.

And then I remembered, I'm a writer! I can make that happen!

Talking about that wiki on femache. I fixed one wiki mentioning masculine and feminine to be just male and female.

But I see a tendency of softening some genders to be just masc/fem instead of male and/or female.

I see discourses on twitter about demiboy being originally called demimasc or a partial masc gender. So that lesbians can call themselves demiboys too. It's purely hygienistic (for the lack of a better word), as if maleness (the evil) couldn't be mixed with lesbianism. Or that nonbinary people couldn't be male/female as well (gender trinarism).

Also these wikis were categorized and populated/moderated by a lot of people trying to overexplain things, sometimes wrongly. I think wikis are useful at some point, specially those that are big libraries where I can research and discover myself as well. it's free acknowledge. Minimalistic definitions are also good for me because of dyslexia (or another learning disorder)

I actually appreciate the vent!

I definitely notice that wiki pages will try to fill in missing information for a term but it often doesn't turn out to be accurate or inclusive. And it always surprises me because the original coining will be credited and linked on the page, but that post won't really match up with what was added to the wiki. It ends up causing confusing on what these terms are supposed to include.

I've found myself removing gendervir from the "mingender" and "masculine" categories far too often, since I can't realistically track down all my terms and ask for their pages to be removed. But there are so many wikis out there and it's hard to keep up with it all!

The best we can do is to keep talking about it and hope that we see some change. These terms are important for archival and it needs to be accurate. - 💙💚

Around the age of 7, he was making meals for his family, cleaning up after everyone, and making sure his mother was tended to. His mother ended up dying a year later, sending him and his siblings into foster care. They stayed in foster care until he was 10 years old. He wasn’t aware that he was a demigod, so he had no defense on what monsters would come after him. Eventually the monsters managed to find him, it ended up killing everyone in the foster care including his siblings. The attack ended wounding his right eye, causing him to be blind in that eyes. He managed to escape, hiding somewhere. A beautiful young woman came to him, identifying herself as Eris. She told him that she would bestow a gift to Nakia so that he would never be weak again. In his time of vulnerability, Nakia accepts. When he accepts, the wound on his right eye disappears, and eye turned into a vibrant violet color. Not too long after the incident, he was recruited into camp half blood.

Edward had a good childhood, growing up in the city of Cork until the age of fifteen and spending his final years at home in the city of Cobh. His childhood, in general, could be described as idyllic as his family was well off and he had a good relationship with his older brother. At the age of 18, Edward decided to study at a university in Dublin, where he majored in history with a concentration in Irish and Celtic history. In his fourth year at university, Edward did a semester at a university in London where he met Eleanora Blythe and they became friends quickly. He also decided to get his PhD from the same London university, where he furthered his friendship with Eleanora.

Edward began dating Eleanora when he was twenty-five and they dated for two years before marrying in 1993, when he was twenty-seven. They agreed to wait to have children until their PhDs were completed and on February 28, 1997, their only children, Jack Edward and Benedict Jasper, were born. Edward adored his sons, doting on them the best he could. 

Unfortunately, Edward’s time with his sons was cut short in November of 1997. While researching an ancient Celtic settlement, Edward and his wife disappeared without a trace. Their twin sons were found alone, and an extensive search entailed but nothing was ever found. Eventually, in 2025, the Whittens were discovered to have become the victims of a Dobhar-chú, a blood-thirsty creature that resembles a cross between a hound and a giant otter (or fish) and haunts the waters (and the land) of Ireland.

She had a good relationship with her parents, who did their best to provide her with the best possible childhood. At the age of 18, Eleanora began attending a university in London, studying history with a concentration in women’s history. She met Edward Whitten during her third year, when he was a sort of exchange student in his fourth year. They became friends quite quickly, sharing their love for different aspects of history. Eleanora was secretly quite pleased when Edward continued on with his PhD at her university. She also pursued a PhD.

Eleanora began dating Edward when she was twenty-four and they dated for two years before marrying in 1993. Jack would do almost anything for his brother, and he’s pretty sure that Ben is the only reason that Jack never got himself killed.

Robert is a kind man with the patience of a saint.

Jack has a good relationship with his uncle, even though he keeps a lot of stuff to himself and doesn’t share a lot with his uncle. Despite all of this, Jack knows that he can count on his uncle for things that are important.

Born on May 15, 1965, Mai is the adopted daughter of Clarence and Emily Daniels and the wife of Jack’s uncle Robert. Mai, along with her husband, took in her nephews when their parents disappeared. Mai is also the mother of Jack’s cousins, Darcy, Thea, and Clary. Mai had a good heart and a lot of patience. Unfortunately in 2010, Mai suffered a fatal stroke when an aneurysm that she had always had burst.

Jack had a good relationship with his aunt, but they were never very close. He knew that he could count on her, but always felt a bit disconnected and, anyways, they were different personalities. Jack was hurt and shocked by her death, though, and her sudden death fueled his reckless streak.

Growing up at a bed and breakfast was an interesting experience and it gave Jack a good childhood, even though there weren’t always the vacations and such that his school friends went on. At the age of six, Jack was diagnosed with dyslexia and his case was fairly moderate, as he was given the support and patience that he needed to make strides. In general, his childhood held a lot of love and was quite stable. That didn’t stop Jack from feeling like something was missing and doing reckless and stupid things. His recklessness continued until he was nearly thirty. 

Hogwarts Years:

Upon starting Hogwarts, Jack was sorted into Slytherin, where he slowly carved out a niche for himself. He retained his recklessness, which only seemed to increase the older he got. During his time at Hogwarts, Jack discovered that he did not like quidditch, despite enjoying flying. He also managed to make a few good friends. In his sixth year, Jack began dating Ravenclaw Sage Carridan and began a slow descent into love. 

Adulthood:

After graduating from Hogwarts, Jack began traveling throughout Europe mostly. He spent his first four years as an apprentice to a fellow wizarding paleontologist who was more established and was a respected professor. He was fascinated by all of this, and soaked all the information that he could. At 22, Jack was allowed to follow his own interests and was given his own opportunities to lead digs and investigations. All the while, Jack often participated in reckless broom racing and other stunts. Luckily, Jack was never seriously injured during any of his reckless actions… until he was twenty-eight.

By the year he turned twenty-eight, Jack had grown tired and weary of traveling. He wanted to finally have a home base and found a position that would allow him to focus on the ancient beasts of the British Isles. He also began to plan a proposal for his long-term girlfriend, Sage. However, Jack decided to take on a broom race through a dangerous area. The race went wrong and Jack landed in St. Mungo’s for a week. That scared the shit out of Jack, causing him to reevaluate his actions and finally address the root of his recklessness. With the support of Sage, Jack along with his brother and cousin decided to finally open an investigation into the disappearance of his parents. In late 2025, it was discovered that Edward and Eleanora Whitten had been the victims of a Dobhar-chú.

Jack married Sage on May 23, 2026 and they had three children together. Their eldest, Asher Declan, was born on August 21, 2028 with their second child, Hazel Eleanora, being born two years later on March 1, 2030. Their youngest child, Hugh Edward, was born on December 22, 2033. 

Old Age:

Jack retired at the age of 87 and devoted the rest of his life to his family. He also did some traveling, mostly to places that he had never visited before. He mourned the loss of family members as well.

Death: 

Jack passed away in his sleep at the age of 121. He had lived a long and fulfilled life and he left behind three children, seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandsons.

Jack’s abandonment issues manifest as reckless, the complete opposite of his twin brother. His recklessness is often used as a buffer to avoid getting too close to people. 

Jack has a lot of internal strife regarding his parents and their fates. He really struggles to understand all of it and is afraid of the people he loves disappearing on him without a trace. 

Jack doesn’t have a congenital heart defect. His twin brother does, but Jack was monitored as an infant and wasn’t found to have a defect. He does, though, have dyslexia which his twin doesn’t. 

Jack doesn’t like quidditch. He just doesn’t get it. Rugby, football/soccer, and hurling are so much more interesting.

brennan has arthritis and chronic pain , and uses a cane !! she also has mild-moderate bilateral hearing loss from the absurd amount of times she's been Blown Up

neurodivergence/mental health wise it's a Long list : she's autistic and has chronic motor tic disorder, persistent depressive disorder (dysthymia), c-ptsd, depersonalization/derealization disorder, arfid, and ednos

booth :

booth has just so much fucking Damage to his body . he has arthritis and general chronic pain from being blown up/shot at/breaking his goddamn bones/etc. he also has fibromyalgia and moderate hearing loss !

he has adhd, dyscalculia, major depressive disorder, c-ptsd, and has struggles with food, though not a full blown eating disorder

angela :

angela has arthritis in her hands , as well as a hypermobility spectrum disorder or hEDS ! she uses ring splints almost always, and uses other joint braces as well (especially for her knees/wrists)

she is autistic and adhd (audhd queen) and also has dyslexia, bipolar ii, ptsd, maladaptive daydreaming disorder, and bulimia nervosa

hodgins :

he is canonically paraplegic , but i also hc that he has hearing loss from the blast (these people get exploded too often to not be hoh) !!
