Enlightened Beauties, let's all encourage light skin sisterhood. As light skin women, it's extremely crucial that we support and protect each other. Its also beneficial. No matter the genetic makeup, light skin women have got to form a sisterhood. Whether you're biracial, MGM, or monoracial (black), light skin women should stick together. No matter what others may say, we share a common phenotype, which means we share similar struggles. Let's please remember that we naturally have the look that ALL women want and work so hard to imitate!

Why does this look like an ad for a luxury fashion brand? Like, it’s giving Prada Resort 2024! 😂

wip wednesday...it's me...ya boy....refusing to let people forget nick suzuki is not white lol
;;
Cole’s played with Nick for so long that he feels unbalanced when he’s on the face off against him for the first time. His dark intent eyes and the determined line of his mouth; Cole’s seen that look from right beside him for almost a decade. He never thought he’d be on the receiving end.
Nick’s skin is a warm brown against the white of the Canadian’ away jerseys, something Cole has seen hundreds of times in Montreal, ten years in, and has never been particularly taken by, but he looks warmer, here, even though they’re in Switzerland in February and it had been a long, long Montreal winter before they’d even gotten on the plane.
He didn’t get a haircut before the NHL took a break for the Olympics and Cole is suddenly desperate to know what his hair looks like now, if it’s messier under the helmet, if it tangles and curls, or if it just stands straight up. Nick’s usually pretty strict about getting a haircut, but there was a long road trip before they broke for the Olympics and the last time Cole saw Nick, his hair was growing out in ways Cole had never seen.
He looks, hmm. Dreamy is a word for it, maybe. Maybe that one Montreal gossip blog who named him Quebec’s most eligible bachelor in January had the right idea. Cole had made fun of him for weeks when he got the promoted post on Instagram but he sees the potential now, the shape of it.
Cole grins at him. Nick’s mouth doesn’t move.
“Switzerland’s beautiful in the winter,” he says. The ref is still shouting at Kirby and Trevor at the other side of the circle about how they won’t quit knocking each other around.
Nick looks at him but doesn’t say anything.
“You look better in red and blue though,” says Cole. “The white jersey, I dunno. You do better with a little color. Gonna be glad to see you out of it.”
Nick blinks.
“Maybe tonight,” says Cole.
Nick says, “fucking—Cole, are you this much of a maniac with everybody?”
They bend down. The ref puts his whistle in his mouth.
“No,” says Cole. Nick makes a face. Cole laughs. “You’re the only Canadian I’d ever cross those borders for.”
“Either pull the fuck up or fuck off, Caufield,” says Nick, but the corners of his eyes are crinkled, before he turns determined and intense again.
The ref tells them to shut up in French and drops the puck. Nick swipes it.

@missblackamerika
We were hoping you would get it, but you obviously don’t! Despite what your beliefs are, Bianca Lawson, Aaliyah, and Halle Berry are racially ambiguous. It doesn’t matter what YOU and other unambiguous black women think, they are racially ambiguous. Halle Berry tanned excessively and cut her hair short to appear as unambiguous as possible so she can blend in with unambiguous black women back in the 90s, which is why you never knew she was mixed. You may not view many women on this blog as racially ambiguous and you may view them as black, but that doesn’t matter. You’re opinion as an unambiguous person doesn’t matter at all. If you’re unambiguous, you’ll always be unambiguous. Embrace that and let us racially ambiguous people embrace our racial ambiguity in peace!!
You unambiguous black women see us racially ambiguous black and mixed women as black UNTIL we date a black guy you lust over or we’re chosen as the black woman in an all white cast in a movie! Then you all cry colorism and make disparaging comments on our light skin and our racial ambiguity! We’re no longer black women once that happens! You only see us as black women when its convenient for you or when it helps you push your sick narrative of “black comes in all shade” nonsense! This is gaslighting at its finest and ambiguous women are here to call it out as well as to put a stop to it!
By the way, Ananda Lewis IS NOT ambiguous! She is very much unambiguous! If she wore an afro, NO ONE would call her racially ambiguous. So stop with the deception and the gaslighting! Aaliyah is an ambiguous woman regardless of what you say and what you think. Let us have our own space and you can have yours. We have explained ourselves, which us ambiguous women constantly have to do in order to be taken seriously by you unambiguous people. We’re no longer going to do that, and we will continue to embrace our light skin and our phenotype as racially ambiguous women!

nimona not only spoke to my trans experience,but to my experience as a black autistic person.
The part where nimona was shape shifting into numerous different animals to fit in made me so emotional. Growing up, I'm the only person in my family and surroundings to be mixed with Filipino, Trinidadian, scottish and south African. And I'd try to blend in with all those cultures. But overall, i still feel out of place, especially because of my appearance.
I'm also autistic , and I'd act a certain way to fit in with a group but I was 'too weird' to fit in.
But the most painful parts of the movie is nimona appearing like a child, yet everyone seeing her as dangerous. That is the experience of a black kid, especially dark skinned ones. We were treated as more adult, mature and more threatening. We get disciplined more harshly in school. And it's worse when we are neurodivergent or have mental health issues. There's numerous studies about teachers admitting they see their black students as more grown up. Black kids that are perceived as girls are also more sexualized. Not to mention the case of a cop shooting and killing a 12 year old black boy, Tamir rice, because he was playing with a toy gun. The cop claimed he thought Tamir was a grown man and felt threatened.
so yeah, this movie managed to speak to numerous parts of my life experience. I usually have to ignore a lot of parts to somewhat see myself on screen. But this is first time in my entire life i felt seen. First time I've felt myself. I feel like a whole person being represented. Thank you to all the writers that worked on Nimona.
