Secret Son John Constantine

Inspired by @herbatahleb's funny little fanart

As the title says The Everlasting Trio have a child and his name is John “Hellblazer” Constantine

He’s making his parents proud

John was born of a kind of soul blood pact between the three, he got his blonde hair from Sam, his eyes from Tucker, and his overall appearance is a mix of the three of them

John grew up to follow in Tucker & Sam’s footsteps of magic, he’s a born sorcerer unlike them though

His relationship with his parents is generally good, but because of how he treats his soul his relationship with Danny has deteriorated

They argue about this alot, John’s soul is his own and what he does with it really isn’t any of Danny’s business, Danny has the concerned parent vibes of the parent of a sex worker, their fears are founded but they need to trust their kid to know how to take care of themselves

John hates visiting home because of it, Dani will sometimes drag him back home for holidays but he doesn’t stay long

Sam & Tucker try to get them to get along but it isn’t really working

Then one day Danny gets accidentally summoned by the Justice League

John doesn’t recognize the summoning circle as it buzzes to life, he doesn’t know what type of creature or being will pop out. If they’re good or bad, or even merciful but he knows they’re strong from the intricate design or the circle. So he recklessly jumps forward, pushing Hal out of the binding circle so the Lantern isn’t bound to the summoned being.

John takes the binding with a scream of pain, feeling electricity shoot up his spine.

He can hear the Leaguers shouting his name, he’s vaguely aware of Jordan supporting him. But what he hears clearest was the voice of a man he most despised in the world at the moment.

“Really John? You didn’t have to do that, he would have been fine.”

John closes his eyes tight and breaths deep, he looks up to the voice and looks into the toxic green eyes as they met his own brown ones.

“Good to see you too Father.”

The green eyed being rolls his eyes and crosses his arms, “Yes, hello Son. It’s great to see you again as well.”

The League had only heard a few things about John Constantine’s family. They knew he had three parents who’re polyamouros, that he has an older sister and an aunt. Besides that all they have are silent grumblings about “Father won’t like this” when he does something risky.

But to see a young filipino man probably no older than twenty, floating over John “Hellblazer” Constantine and looking down on him like a disappointed parent. It was jarring.

Wonder Woman was the first to say anything “John, could you perhaps explain what just happened?”

John and his father broke their intense eye contact to look at Diana, who barely flinched at the sudden attention, the others behind her weren’t so fearless.

Constantine sighed carefully stepping away from Hal, “This is my Father.”

Hal snorted, “Yeah we got that man.”

“Yes John, introduce me to your friends here.”

Danny is generally snarky when meeting the League, he makes some weird comments about John hanging out with superheroes, that could be construed as rude

The others are kinda pestering John about who his dad even is, while John is more focused on getting the fucking bind removed

He eventually has to ask Zatanna for help

Danny for the most part is hanging out with the League while John’s working

Someone calls him Mr.Constantine and Danny quickly corrects them saying that isn’t his last name

Which sparks a whole conversation of John’s last name, which Danny isn’t about to say cause real names have power and such

Danny sees John working closely with Zatanna and asks if he’s with her or not, John is beyond embarrassed and even worse is when Danny brings up King Shark, mentioning that Dani really liked him too

John snarks back that then King Shark should have just gone for her instead of him since Danny was so adamant about King Shark being such a great son-in-law

Things get awkward quick as the two snark back at each other while everyone else realizes where John gets it from

It almost becomes a screaming match before the League has to break it up before they go to far

John ends up just calling Sam & Tucker so they can just break the binding

It’s a tense few minutes before they get there, and the League just kinda has to sit there as father & son fume not looking at each other

When Tucker & Sam get there they see the two not wanting to talk to each other at all

Leaguers are not reeling at seeing John’s other parents who he also vaguely looks like but also not

As the two work on the binding John & Danny are being passive aggressive

The two decide that John & Danny need to spend some time together to get this shit figured out

Sam : Alright that’s it *Sam & Tucker stop working, Sam has her head in her hands and Tucker is leaning far back* Danny : What? John : I’m sorry? Tucker : You two have been fighting for far to long, you’ve probably forgotten why Danny : I know exactly why, it’s because John doesn’t know how to treat his soul right! John : By The Ancients! You’re still on about that Danny : Of course! Sam : Will you both just SHUT UP! *Silence* Sam : We’re not breaking the binding, you two are going to stay stuck together Danny : Sammy! John : Mama, Papa. Please don’t do this! Tucker : Nuh-uh, this happening, you two are getting a some father-son bonding time for the week! John *distressed*: Why! You can’t just– it’s not fair! *Sam & Tucker loosen up a bit, looking to John softly* Sam : Baby it’s alright, we’re not trying to punish you we just want you & your father to actually talk things through Danny : It feels like your punishing me Tucker : You are his father, you will be the civil one in this so don’t you fucking dare get any lip *Danny goes silent* Sam *sigh* : We’ll be leaving now Tucker : Good look you two The two leave, then silence Danny : Do you still have that demon house of yours? John *sigh* : Yeah I’ll show you a room for your stay

Most of the story is really just about John & Danny learning to get along again

Danny has to finally trust his kid to know what he’s doing with his own body

And John realising that his dad just wants to keep him safe & stuff

By the end of their basically grounding the two have begun to mend their relationship, Danny promises to come over and visit along with inviting John back home to the zone when he feels like

a sigh slipped past her rosy lips, sleepy eyes gazing at the humongous amount of paperwork placed carefully on her desk. she softly fixed a pearly strand of hair from her face, before frowning and rising from her spot on the golden chair. she felt so tired, exhaustion taking over her slim form.

“i could definitely use some rest” she muttered, drowsily walking through the hallway, which now looked like a cursed maze without an ending. her slow paced footsteps echoed through the walls, and she gently opened the door before making a beeline to her closet, ready to remove the familiar altough now really uncomfortable clothes.

drowning in her snowy nightgown, she removed her golden hair pin, a waterfall of white luscious silky strands falling down like snowflakes on a frozen lake.

ningguang finally snuggled inside her bed, enjoying the way the soft cushions embraced her with gentle hold. and yet she couldn’t bring herself to fall asleep. not without knowing how she was doing, and if the waves were calm or frantic-

and just when she was beginning to let herself slip into a well deserved sleep, a memory flashed behind her eyelids.

xiangling giggled, observing with mirth the interaction between the drunk pirate, and the noble aristocratic lady. “can’t believe we had to drag her away from the tavern” she exclaimed with sarcasm shaking her head, perfectly aware of the concerned gaze in those golden eyes.

the petite girl turned slightly to her loyal companion, hushing out a simple, innocent question, that carried a more carefully crafted, hidden meaning.

“do you think ningguang misses beidou when she’s at sea?”

and now, it appeared as clear as the morning sky she could see from her floating palace whenever she had a moment of peace.

'I thought I knew you'

Join Me, he beckoned.

Stay With Me, he cooed.

Love Me, he demanded.

He didn’t need to ask for the last one.

The Phantom had been watching Gotham for some time now, more then he had in his twelve years of terror. Lurking around the domed city, peering in from up above. It got to such a point where Gothamites would travel through the treacherous cave system beneath their city just to escape his gaze.

The Signal wasn’t one of those people of course, he was one of the remaining vigilantes he had to stand tall, a pillar of light in these hard times. In the End Times. Even as Duke Thomas he stood upon the surface, staring up at the Phantom, The Phantom grinning down on him in return. He knew exactly what the monster wanted of course, & at times he wanted to give in, to hold him again, this was one of those few times.

The Phantom waited above the dome, not the highest point but nearby it, waiting patiently, pridefully, maybe even a bit hungrily. Watching as a disturbance in light, invisible to most, made their way to the top of the tower Phantom stood over.

The disturbance sat in the sturdy satellite dish at the top of Wayne Enterprise, positioned just so that they would never be seen from below, they shimmered & became Duke Thomas once more, in a hoodie & jeans, an ecto-gun strapped to his side, a bracelet made specifically to keep The Phantom away. He chose to not look at that one for long.

The Phantom stared at Duke, examining the face he could not often see. Counting the beauty marks sparsely decorating his lovely face. Taking in the scars the Phantom had once adoringly traced, & the ones he’d never touched or seen before. The Phantom wanted so desperately to see Duke’s gold-brown eyes fully, without the wicked green of the dome overlying them.

“You’re not going to say anything?” Duke said glaring up at Phantom. God he hated that smile on Phantom’s face, all lecherous & possessive. It used to be devoted & respectful some many years ago.

“I thought you hated hearing me speak?” Phantom said playfully, moving into a laying position in the air, “But if you want, allow me to try & convince you once more.”

Duke sighed as Phantom began to re-hash the same speech he’d given many a time before.

Join Me, he beckoned.

Stay With Me, he cooed.

Love Me, he demanded.

He didn’t need to ask for the last one.

Most of the time Duke didn’t want to listen, but he couldn’t bring himself to stop coming up here, to stop caring.

He looked up at Phantom & like many times before tried to connect this version to the one he’d known before.

The freckles that where once prominent & dark upon tan skin connected by scars like images in the stars, had blended like blush over pale green skin. Teal blue eyes that sparkled like starlight, where now a matte blood red that held no real light in them. Fangs that once seemed cute & mischievous, had sharpened to the point where they looked to even hurt the one who bore them.

A soul that was no longer happy, but a phantom of it’s former self. Barely the same, in a way it looked like it never had been.

“Duke,’ Phantom said, more focused then before in it’s tone that it Duke pulled out of his musings as he blinked the mirage from his eyes.

“Why must you be so stubborn,’ The Monster said like he always did, ‘I could give you so much, you know that. Puzzles to invigorate the mind made by creatures longer lived then you’ve ever met, stories from dimensions you’ve never even hear of, songs sung by beings you’d barely comprehend. All you’d have to do is be Mine again, My Star, My Light, My Everything.”

He had to hold back from rolling his eyes in annoyance, he was far too tired for this.

“I don’t want that, I don’t need that,” Duke knew he was half to blame for some of this, though his remaining friends & family had said differently. Maybe if he’d reached out to him after the accident sooner, or flown out to Amity to talk him down from the edge, gotten in the way of Vlad adopting him. Maybe this would all be different, maybe he’d truly know who was floating above him.

“And I thought, I knew you,” The Phantom teased, crossing his arms & staring down at Duke as if what he said didn’t set a bomb off in Duke’s heart.

“If you think I’d go with you as you are now… I’m starting to think you never really did,” Duke said, allowing no emotions on to his face, he could feel tears tapping at the back of his eyes insistently.

Phantoms, grinning face turned into one of silent overwhelming annoyance as he glared down at Duke.

“I do know you, and that’s exactly why I need you,’ Sighing The Phantom turned away from the dome, ‘You’re being rather depressing today so I’ll be going, see me again in two weeks & I’ll see if you changed your mind.”

In an instant The Phantom was gone, not even bothering with going invisible, just dropping his tangibility & heading to Amity at mach speeds most likely.

In the new found silence, the only thing Duke could hear was his fast beating heart & shaky breath, tears beginning to run down his face. Staring up at nothing, features pinched with rage, & fear, & most prominently, heartbreak.

“Danny… what happened to you?”

Half of it was that he wasn't there.

Dp x Dc Dream Prompt

Okay so this one steams from a weird fucking dream I had just when I woke up today.

Essentially Danny & his ghost friends run a kind of kinky escape room & Jason decides to go check it out. The of course they're obviously weird & ghostly so he tells the rest of the batfam about it so Tim decides to tag along & check it out as well. Bruce was also there for some reason [& Annalise from Gumball & this pretty girl from Tiktok but they aren't apart of this fandom so where just gonna set them aside].

Anyway the first time Jason got there someone showed him a thirst trap of Danny & he was like "He's not even that cute wtf" & since Danny was right there he got offended. So now the escape room is on extra difficulty when they come there the second time. And also more ghostly obviously.

Anyway it was like Danny x Jason coded most definitely & Tim x Jazz crossed my mind & I'm kind of living for that so.

Super Villain Summer Internships [Everlasting Trio, DpxDc]

Everlasting Trio don’t know what they’re going to do for college, so they decide to just bite the bullet and do a few internships. Although they all forget to tell each other that they’re each interning with villains.

Danny is with Mister Freeze, going under the name Blizzard

Danny is basically the one doing a bunch of intern work while also not, at first he was just kinda there cause he liked being cold

But then he and Freeze begin to bond over feeling responsible for things that aren’t really their fault, Danny promises to help Freeze revive Nora

They have a father-son relationship, in how they’re actually pretty similar in personality & powers

Sam is with Poison Ivy, under the name Blood Blossom

Sam is the only one to have a legal internship because Ivy actually wrote her down as her legal lab assistant

She and Pam are very Big Sis-Little Sis energy, Sam is the annoying younger sibling who wants to do everything their big sister does

Pam finds this devotion to their ideals adorable, and supports Sam in their joint endeavors

Tucker is with Bane, going as Ruin

Tucker acting as Bane’s tech guy, he’s been working on a new type of venom for Bane he doesn’t get into many fights but if he needs to he doesn’t back down

They have an Uncle-nephew relationship going on but also Tucker gets a bit obsessive about making the best venom that they have Frankenstein & Frankenstein’s Monster going on too

It’s mainly just Tucker getting to cackle evilly while Bane just say “Alright chiquito, have you eaten breakfast yet? You get angry when hungry.”

The batfam is not prepared to deal with two mini rouges and a secret mini rouge who they haven’t met yet but are still worried about

A couple weeks into their internship the Gotham Rogues have their bi-monthly meeting where The Everlasting Trio is introduced to everyone

Ivy, Freeze, & Bane were also surprised to see that their interns actually knew each other/are dating

The Everlasting Trio are the entire reason why the Gotham Rogues are even talking to each other at the moment

Now the bats are even more confused & concerned because the rogues are usually at each other’s throats

It’s the only thing keeping them from taking over tbh

When the batfam find out that the three interns they’ve had to deal with for like most of June, all know each other and are actively in a polycule, they feel like everything makes so much more sense

The trio do have an ulterior motive to this whole thing, at first it’s just indulging in their less than stellar morals

Until it’s not

They become more enthralled in their ambitions, Sam begins to care less and less about the world outside of plants, she cares less about the civilian casualties, she begins to use ecto-science on plants

Pam & Harley are very concerned because they’re both on their path to redemption and Sam is going in the other direction

Danny becomes just as obsessive as Mister Freeze with trying to bring back Nora, he’s bringing in ecto-science in an attempt to bring her back through re-bonding her soul back to her body

Freeze isn’t against this exactly, but he’s unsure if it’ll bring the real Nora back, he’s still gonna go with it

Tucker has fully fallen into the mad scientist idea, he wants to make Bane the best version of himself the best human possible, his new version of venom is directed by ecto-science and such

Bane of course wants to be stronger but he knows at some point Tucker is gonna go to far, so he’s willing to hold the kid back if need be, but he isn’t going to actually do it he wants Tucker to go bad

By the time the Trio reaches the point of no return their bosses realizes this is not going to go their way anymore

Everlasting Trio: You’re just afraid to take it, One. Step. Further.

The fight to take back Gotham from the Everlasting Trio is a long one

Sam has complete control over Robinson Park [biggest park in Gotham] along with its botanical gardens and such

The surrounding neighborhoods are overrun with plants, she has people asleep and under her control for the most part

Tucker has most of the upper districts running wild on the venom he’s made, people are now more powerful than Superman himself and have lost their minds in their blind rage, they’re all mainly under his control

Danny has the east bays and the graveyards near by, everything is frozen over, the bodies in the harbor and in the ground have been reanimated into ice soldiers and are under his control most of the time

Ivy, Harley, Freeze, & Bane have to call in the bats for help with the Trio and their plans

They split up to go for their kid, with a few bats behind them to back them up

Ivy & Harley pull on Sam’s care for the rest of the world

Bane brings Tucker down from the high, making him think this through

Freeze gets Danny to realize that nobody he brought back is who they first were

By the end of it the trio is subdued after a big fight and some impassioned speeches

They’re admitted into Arkham Asylum, they promise their mentors that they’ll do better, that they’ll get better & make them proud of them

Admittedly I completely forgot to mention the trio’s family back in Amity

Let’s just say they don’t all know the nature of their internship

Jack & Maddie are aware that Danny is interning under an important doctor but they weren’t sure who he is

Angela & Maurice don’t know what’s going on with Tucker he hasn’t given them any stable information, he wanted to keep it that way with them thinking he’s still a good kid

Jeremy & Pamela know exactly what Sam was doing, she made sure of it, she wanted them to know they’re baby girl was running with villains now

Jazz is actually living in Gotham while this is going on, she going to college at GU for psychology, she’s interning at Arkham

She’s actually close with the bats, having met Jason, she’s one of the few psychs they trust at all

She knows that Sam is working with Ivy, she’s tried reaching out to her but Sam refuses to talk to her

She’s only ever seen Blizzard from afar, and was unable to connect him with Danny

She didn’t even know Ruin existed until the bats told her, and even then she didn’t know he was Tucker

When they’re taken down Jazz finds out who they are and she’s crushed, she feels she not only failed Sam, but also Danny & Tucker as well

Since the trio are all 18+ by the time they’re arrested nobody from Amity is sent anything to tell them they’ve been arrested

For about a week Jazz is actually their therapist at Arkham before she’s re-assigned when it’s realized she knows them personally

Jazz ends up telling the Foleys and the Fentons what happened

Then Amity gets the broadcast of their very own Samantha Manson being arrested in Gotham, New Jersey for eco-terrorism

Everything else just blows up in their faces after that, The three families don’t even dare show face around for awhile

They go to Gotham to actually visit their kids in Arkham

The Foleys are so disappointed in their son for what he’s done, Tucker can’t even look them in the eyes as the yell at him about everything

For the Mansons it sprouts into a huge shouting match with Sam almost jumping to table to try and physically fight her parents

All the Fentons do is stare at each other, they try to ask Danny why but he’s not cooperating with his biting remarks and not wanting to even see them for almost a week

Regarding their sentence and institutionalization the trio only has about five years or until they show sufficient mental stability for two years straight

WARNING: Danny & Duke are both drunk when they have the wedding, not terribly so but still. Other characters outright ask if either were able to properly consent to the situation. A random side character tries to take Duke home and isn’t taking no as an answer.

This is not how you should safely interact with someone in a sexual way

CONSENT IS KEY PEOPLE always ask every time you and your partner[s] try something sexual at every new avenue

DON’T TRY AND HAVE SEX/SEXUAL ACTIVITIES WHEN DRUNK all of the time you will not be in your right mind, don’t test it you may regret it later

It’s Duke’s twenty-first birthday, and his older siblings have dragged him to Las Vegas for a three day weekend.

It was fucking great, partying, drinking without getting too drunk [high metabolism and all that], winning almost every game he joins [thank you future vision]. Duke was having the time of his life partying in Vegas.

The second night, Duke had somehow wandered away from his siblings, but he wasn’t all that worried, they’d find him before morning.

The bar he’d stumbled into was dark, just like all the others. He sighed happily, walking over to the bar and ordering one of their fruity sounding drinks, those were always the best.

As he happily sipped on his drink feeling his head starting to get a little fuzzy, which was nice, a guy sat down next to him, saying something that sounded vaguely flirtatious. Duke looked over to the guy, he wasn’t all that impressive, maybe his height was what got him dick.

“Sorry what?” Duke asked, trying to focus on the guy's voice.

The guy rolled his eyes, “I said, you got a ride back to your hotel tonight?”

Duke blinked, weighing his options on whether this guy would even be a good fuck, “Nah I’m good man, I know how to get back,” Duke went back to his drink.

The guy sneered, and grabbed Duke’s wrist, “I’m sure I can get back to your place safer or mine for that manner.”

Duke glared at him, okay so he’s gonna have to either turn this guy down slowly or he’s gonna have to get his siblings to help him hide a dead body. He’s willing to trade that fifty for Tim’s help with that.

Before he could even say anything another hand took the guy’s hand, crushing his wrist and making him let go.

Duke looked over his shoulder at his “savior”. The man was tall, and muscular, filipino-cuban, with pretty soft looking black hair and blue eyes that seemed to shine green. He was also really really hot, Duke felt his face heat up.

“He wants you gone asshole,” The stranger growled out, and oh lord that was fucking hot.

“Did he tell you that?” The guy asked.

The stranger leaned in, pressing his front to Duke’s back, “He shouldn’t have to motherfucker, we’re engaged.”

Pause rewind, Duke eyes widened as the stranger lifted their left hands to show the guy the silver ring on his finger. Duke just so happened to be wearing the same ring. Well wasn’t that a happy coincidence.

The guy blinked before grumbling and walking away.

The stranger took his spot sighing, then looked at Duke with a lopsided smile, “You alright?”

Duke smiled back at him, “Oh I’m perfect.”

Danny had come to Vegas when Sam and Tucker had dragged him there, mainly against his will because it would kill his wallet to try and get drunk [high metabolism at it again]. Sam ended up promising to cover his bills, so here he was kinda drunk and fuzzy in a club in Vegas.

The halfa was lurking by the bar watching his friends on the dance floor, smiling at their antics.

His attention turned from his friends to a pretty man who’d been sitting alone for the past couple minutes, another guy had sat down next to him. They were chatting, but the new guy seemed a bit too close for the pretty strangers comfort.

When the new guy snatched up the pretty stranger's wrist Danny knew he had to step in.

“Oh I’m perfect,” the stranger said with a cute smile.

Danny felt his slow heart do a backflip, “Great, I’m Danny by the way.”

The stranger nodded, “Duke, want a drink I’ll pay.”

Duke flagged down a bartender, who brought over a menu handing it to him.

“Dude no worries, the guy was being a dick anyway. I can pay for it on my own.”

Duke raised an eyebrow playfully, “If you say so, have a couple drinks with me though, I wanna get to know my savior knight.”

Danny tried to suppress his giggle, “Alright.”

They just keep chatting and flirting for a bit and just keep drinking, unconcerned by their tabs

At some point when they’re very much tipsy they end up on the dance floor just jamming

Sam & Tuck ask Danny about Duke and he gets all mushy about how funny and cool Duke is and how they met

Tuck & Sam tease him about the fake fiance thing, Danny just says that he wishes it wasn’t a lie cause he’d marry Duke in heartbeat

Duke happens to over hear this and hugs Danny saying he’d love to get married to him

Sam & Tuck think they’re just joking, Tuck tells them about the fast wedding venue that’s nearby and Sam gives them her card and tells them to go hog wild

They do go hog wild and end up going on a shopping spree

Danny stared at the long white ball gown and veil in front of him, Duke bounced over to his side, suit pieces in his arms.

“Watcha looking at,” Duke asked leaning on Danny.

“Wanna wear a dress for the wedding,” Danny said with a drunken smile, arm wrapping around Duke’s waist, kissing his head.

Duke looked up at him grinning, “You’d look fucking hot in that dress,” he kissed Danny’s cheek.

“Then I’m buying it,” He picked up Duke, who laughed as they walked over to check out to buy their wedding outfits.

At the venue Duke stood at the altar in his pure white suit and green tie, an Elvis impersonator as the person who was going to marry him and Danny. One of their phones was standing on a chair recording the entire thing.

So shitty rendition of “Here Come The Bride” started to play over the speaker, and Danny in his giant ballgown of a dress veil flipped over.

When he reached the altar the two young men stared at each other before laughing. Not as drunk as they were before, just more likely to get married to an almost stranger on a whim.

The Elvis impersonator said his words, and the two said their “I Do's” and were immediately on each other.

The two stumbled into Danny’s hotel room giggling like fools still dressed in their wedding clothes. Tucker and Sam were passed out in the living room.

Danny shushed Duke playfully, pointing to his sleeping friends. Duke nodded, covering his mouth with a smile.

They slipped into Danny’s room, locking the door behind them.

Tucker ends up waking up first and goes down to the lobby to pick up some vegan food before it’s all gone for Sam, who's still passed out on the couch

There he runs into a very frazzled Tim, Steph and Jason at the front desk begging the reception to let them go upstairs where their brother is

The front desk person says they can call the room but they need a number, they don’t have a number b/c the tracker is kinda fucked for Danny ghostly reasons

So the receptionist doesn’t let them cause security

Tucker just walks off to breakfast not wanting to get involved

That’s when Dick spots him and stops him before he can go

While Dick’s distracting him Cass swipes one of Tucker hotel cards and goes back to the others so they can use the elevator

Tucker is left kinda confused but just lets it go as weird people in Vegas

The Batkids had been looking for Duke since morning when he hadn’t come out for breakfast first like he usually does

They immediately went looking for him, and eventually had to start using his emergency tracker on one of his favorite rings

They eventually followed it to a nearby hotel but couldn’t get in cause, well it’s kinda weird to ask to go into a hotel without saying exactly where you're going or even giving legal evidence that the person they’re looking for is there

They end up swiping a hotel card from one of the visitors and going up the hotel trying to find which floor Duke was even on

Meanwhile Duke and Danny had woken up, and where still in Danny’s room

Loving up on each other and stuff being all cuddly and shit

They end up going into the bathroom to clean up

Sam wakes up to the shower running and yells for Danny to ask if that’s him

Danny comes out of the shower [Duke stays in for a little longer] and responds to Sam

Tucker returns a little bit later with the food

The three chat for a bit, Tucker telling them about the siblings down stairs

Then someone knocks on the door

The trio pauses, the person on the other side knocks again

Sam walks over and looks through the peephole to see the Batsiblings

“We know you’re in there,” The second smallest of the people at their door said, his face heavy with eye bags and a PDA clutched in his hand, “We’re just looking for our brother.”

Sam rolled her eyes, before opening the door with the latch still on, “Yeah, like I’m meant to believe that,” she hissed out

The blonde one grumbled, “Listen we just want to know if you’ve seen our brother. He’s only about yay high, black kid in his early twenties, has a close cut fade, eyes are light brown sometimes gold depending on how you look at ‘em. His names Duke, he was wearing a fuck tone of rings before we lost track of him.”

Sam’s eyes widened a little, vaguely remembering a Duke at a bar, “I think I saw him last night, but I don’t remember much.”

The smallest of them stepped forward, “Can we check, just to be sure?” Her voice was soft in an underused kinda way.

Sam glared at them, “What of course not, there’s literally no one here besides me and my friends.”

The biggest stepped closer, “Listen lady, he’s young and dumb and basically a lightweight. We just want to make sure he’s okay.”

Sam was about to say something else when an unfamiliar voice shouted from inside the hotel room.

“Hey Danny where did you toss my shirt?”

“I think I threw it to the window?” Danny responded.

Sam whipped around to her friends stepping away from the door, “Danny who the fuck is that!”

Tucker also spoke up, “Dude is that the guy from the bar last night?”

“Uhh…” Danny said guilty.

The second biggest of the people outside fully stepped into the hotel room somehow unlocking the door from the outside, “Duke Thomas-Wayne! Where the fuck have you been!?!”

A young man around Sam and her friend's age practically ran out of Danny’s room, in only a t-shirt and boxers, hair still dripping wet from the shower.

He smiled nervously at the group of people who’d just broken into the hotel room, “Heeeeeeey, how are my wonderful siblings doing?”

Let’s just say nobody but Duke and Danny are really happy about the whole situation

The Batsibs apologies for being so weird and stealing Tuck’s hotel card

Dick and Jason are fretting over Duke whos just embarrassed at being treated like a little kid in front of Danny, who thinks it’s adorable btw

Steph and Tim immediately don’t like Danny for taking Duke away like that so they are glaring at him

Cass is annoyed but isn’t about to say anything just stares disapprovingly at Duke

Then Tucker asks why there’s a veil just laying around

And suddenly Duke and Danny have shut down immediately

“Why is there a wedding veil in your room,” Tucker didn’t even ask it like a question, the night before was becoming more clear to him.

They all already knew what happened last night.

Danny and Duke didn’t say a word, Danny looking very intently at his cup of juice and Duke looking anywhere but his siblings’ faces.

“Duke – Cass said, knowing that Duke could not lie to her – did you get married to a man you just met?”

Duke didn’t say anything.

Tucker turned to his friend, “When I said ‘Why don’t you just marry him then’ it was a fucking joke Danny!”

“Well we were both like really drunk!” Danny tried to defend himself.

“How did you even get drunk, don’t you just burn through alcohol? How much did you spend at that bar! What did you put on my tab Danny!” Sam said incredulously.

“You told me to get drunk,” Danny whined curling in on himself.

“Not ‘get married to a stranger’ levels of drunk!” Sam shouted.

As the two chastised their friend on the other side of the room, the siblings spoke to their younger brother.

“Duke, Tommy. Why?” Steph asked.

Duke just pouted, mouth covered by his hand.

Dick gently touched Duke’s arm, “Sunshine are you okay, really. How much do you remember from last night?”

“How much do you remember consenting to?” Jason asked softly.

Duke sighed, “I said yes to everything I swear. I was a little bit tipsy but by the time we got to the chapel I was mostly lucid. I would have called it all off if I wanted to.”

Steph nodded still uncertain, “We know you trust your instincts Tommy but you’ve never gotten drunk like this before. We were terrified about what could have happened and now you’re married to some rando who you just met.”

Duke fell back into his chair, looking over to Danny and his friends.

“Just tell me which chapel and it’ll all be void before lunch,” Tim said, already on his phone.

Duke’s gaze quickly turned to Tim, “What?”

“Tell me which chapel, and we won’t have to worry about this. They shouldn’t have even married you two if you were both drunk,” Tim said

Duke huffed, “Don’t remember but it had an Elvis.”

Tim sighed and went back to his phone.

Duke & Danny decide it’s best to just legally void the marriage, like it was never there

Tucker ends up doing it b/c he’s the only one who remembered the chapel

They head down and the Elvis impersonator ends up telling them that he hadn’t even given them a proper wedding

Saying it happens a lot with drunk couples so it’s common practice to just give them fake contracts [don’t know if that’s an actual thing or not]

They all decide that it’s time to just go home early

At the airport Duke and Danny get to talking when the others in their groups had moved or looked away

Danny sat down next to Duke, Duke looked up from his phone and quickly looked back down.

“I- I wanna talk about what happened,” Danny said fidgeting with his hoodie.

Duke sighed, turning off his phone and setting it down, he sat up properly but didn’t look at Danny, “Which bit, the part where we got married or the part where we found out it was fake?”

“The part when we first met, how did you feel?” Danny said.

Duke shrugged, “Glad you saved me from that weirdo, happy there was someone nice to talk to,” He said, voice clipped.

Neither said anything.

“The getting married thing was a bad idea and I’m sorry I suggested it, and I completely understand if you never want to talk to me again,” Danny said quickly.

Duke didn’t say anything, just lifting his hand up and presenting it to Danny not turning to him.

Danny took his hand and squeezed a little.

“I like you – Duke whispered, turning to Danny – I really like you Danny. But I’d much rather get to know you then just jump into a relationship like what happened.”

Danny nodded, “I like you too, I really do. I want to get to know you beyond that drunk haze. I want to actually fall for you.”

Duke felt his face heat up in embarrassment, “I’d like that a lot.”

They trade phone numbers and agree to talk to each other when they both get home

Their relationship from there is kind of a slow burn really

Them getting to know each other on a personal level, taking things slow, to the point where they think they aren’t going to end up together

They’d mainly talk over phone but I think Duke would fly out to Amity once or twice so they could hang out in person

When they introduce each other to people it’s always “My Ex-Husband” “My Ex-Fiance”

And when Danny tells Duke he’s dead Duke starts calling himself a widower as well

Just fun jokes between friends

Getting to the dating bit is a long trek through denial and mutual pining it’s ridiculous

The others know they like each other but the dumb dumbs keep saying it could never happen

Danny: Oh there’s no way he likes me we’re better off as friends anyway

Duke: He couldn’t possibly be interested it was a one-night stand anyway

“You Taunt Me, I Chase You” “You Catch Me, Then Let Me Go” They Do It Again The Next Day

Catwoman has a Kitten following her around, and that Kitten just so happens to like messing around with Batman's Sunshine Birdy.

Maddie and Jack decide that Danny is spreading himself too thin between school and dealing with Ghosts and the GIW, also the excessive bullying is not helping at all. So they decide to send him to live in Gotham with Jack's cousin Selina Kyle. Danny's not extremely happy about this arrangement, but at least Jazz is going to Gotham University, and Sam and Tucker promise to visit during breaks. Selina is unsurprisingly, really cool and it gets even better when she's fine with the whole half-dead thing Danny has going on. One night Danny catches her coming back from a hunt and begs her to take him with her. After a few weeks of training Danny takes his first night on the town, and immediately bumps into Signal, who he may or may not have called hot once.

Jack and Selina are cousins on their moms’ side, they're parents were siblings, Selina's mom drifted away from the family.

They’ve never really talked to each other beyond a family gathering or two

Jack is vaguely aware that Selina isn’t really on the right side of the law, but who’s he to judge The Fenton family has never really been on “The Right Side” of the law

But Selina is surprised when she gets a call from Jack asking her to watch out for his daughter who’s going to Gotham U that year

And even more surprised when he calls her a week later asking if she could take care of his son while he stays in Gotham

Selina ends up agreeing but is definitely scepticall

FIRST MEETING - DUSK

The sun is setting and DUKE has had a long day of patrolling Gotham under the sunlight.

DUKE sighs as he stretches near the ledge of a building, they need to get back to cave soon, do some homework, sleep. God Sleep would be wonderful.

DUKE’S shine golden for a second, and the vigilante moves quickly to the side baton up and ready to strike the person who’d attempted to attack him.

DANNY :

Whoa, okay no sneaking up on you then.

DUKE stared at the other boy. He wore a cowl that looked exactly like SELINA’S, the same with the rest of his outfit. Although it was accented with a more neon green then SELINA’S dark emerald green.

DUKE :

Who are you

DANNY :

What you can’t tell, I think it’s pretty obvious

His voice was light and teasing, he flexed his hands and claws popped out of his fingers.

DUKE :

Some wannabe Catwoman fanboy.

DUKE says sarcastically. The Catboy made an offended sound similar to a hiss even.

DANNY :

I’m not a wannabe!

The Catboy grumbled before calming himself.

DANNY :

I’m actually working with Catwoman I’ll have you know. I’m her apprentice.

DUKE :

(Sarcastically)

Oh really, so she’s just got you up here talking to me for no reason?

The Catboy grinned, DUKE did not like that one bit.

DANNY :

I actually do have purpose for being here.

DUKE immediately started looking around the area, and spotted SELINA crouching a few buildings away with a duffle bag over her shoulder and one next to her.

DANNY :

As a distraction

The Catboy kicks DUKE in the chest when he isn’t looking. Quickly moving away from the vigilante now on the ground.

DANNY :

By the way, the names Kitten, nice meeting you Babe

KITTEN runs quickly over to SELINA and takes the duffle bag next to her, he turns back and waves tauntingly at DUKE, sticking his tongue out at him.

The two Cats run off into the distance.

DUKE :

(Frustrated/Annoyed)

Oh mother fucker

BRUCE is so going to scold him for letting that happen and, DUKE just knows his siblings are going to endlessly tease him about KITTEN.

The Vigilante gets up and begins his way back to the Batcave.

SCENE TWO - CONTINUOUS

SELINA  and DANNY return to SELINA’S apartment through the window. DANNY collapse on the couch, surprising the cats, SAPPHIRE, a blue eyed fluffy white cat, jumps on top of DANNY’S back. DANNY groans.

SELINA picks up SEKHMET, a dark grey Lykoi cat with big ears.

SELINA :

Hello my baby, did you miss you mama?

SEKHMET meows at SELINA happily.

SELINA :

Hon could you got put our hunt away please.

DANNY groans loudly but gets up and moves the duffle bags into SELINA’S bedroom then behind the secret bed door into the vault room. He began to pull out the jewelry from the duffle bags, laying them out carefully on top.

As he works SELINA walks in, holding SEKHMET and with SAPPHIRE following and winding between her legs.

SELINA :

So... How was your little chat with Signal

DANNY :

Pretty normal I guess, he’s jumpier than I thought he’d be

SELINA :

(Teasing)

Didn’t I warn you about that

DANNY :

(Mumbling)

Maybe

SELINA laughs, and DANNY grumbles.

SELINA :

Notice anything... nice?

DANNY’S face flushes.

DANNY :

Nope, nah, everything was just normal!

SELINA :

Oh really

DANNY :

Yupyup, oh would you look at that! Finished laying out the jewels, better got to sleep!

DANNY gets up and walks stiffly out of the vault blushing aggressively. SELINA smirks playfully.

DANNY :

As you said Auntie sleep is important!

SELINA :

It’s alright if you think he’s pretty Danny! I’ll put in a good word with Bats for you!

SELINA yells after DANNY as he retreats to his bedroom.

DANNY :

Goodnight Selina!

SELINA :

Who knows, maybe I’ll have a nephew-in-law by the time you graduate!

DANNY slams the door behind him as SELINA cackles.

I DON’T HAVE A CAT THING! - CONTINUOUS

DUKE drives back into the Batcave, propping up his bike on its kickstand, pulling off his helmet. He dejectedly walks over to lockers where TIM is still getting ready to go out.

TIM :

So how was patrol?

DUKE groans loudy, hitting his head against the locker.

TIM :

Damn that bad?

DUKE lifts his head and nods.

DUKE :

Catwoman has an apprentice now.

TIM pause and stares at DUKE in shock.

TIM :

Bullshit.

DUKE :

He calls himself Kitten and he’s a fucking asshole

TIM raises an eyebrow

TIM :

An asshole you saw? What was he like?

DUKE :

Checky, he got me distracted long enough for Selina to steal like a third of the Jewels on Rock Street. Then he kicked me and then just ran off, can you believe that!

TIM grins, as DUKE rants about KITTEN not paying attention to his brother.

TIM :

Uh huh, what else?

DUKE :

He had this stupid smile and was all snarky and he looked sooo proud of himself for getting one over me. Then he called be “Babe '' before he ran, and just AUGH!

TIM smiles widens.

TIM :

Oh you’re down bad.

DUKE :

What?

TIM turns away from DUKE and to the rest of the cave.

TIM :

Selina’s got a kid and Duke has a crush on him!!!

DUKE’S face morphs into betrayal and he tackles TIM who’s laughing.

The others in the cave start yelling about the whole situation.

JASON :

What!

DICK :

Say sike right now!

STEPH :

Furry!

DAMIAN :

Thomas your standards!

BRUCE :

Selina has a what now!

DUKE whines and lets go of TIM. TIM gets up and drags DUKE to the center platform of the Batcave at the Batcomputer.

TIM :

I got him!

The others had gathered in the central platform, half dressed for patrol.

BRUCE :

Duke, could you explain please?

DUKE stands up properly and walks over to the Batcomputer and attaches his cam footage to it.

DUKE :

I was getting ready to finish up my last round of patrol when Kitten tried to jump me.

DUKE forwards the footage to the moment, pausing on a clear from of KITTEN’S face.

DUKE :

He said something dumb, I called him a “wannabe Catwoman fanboy” he got offended and said he’s Catwoman’s apprentice. I ask him what he’s doing, I realize he’s a distraction, next thing I know I’m on the ground and he and Selina are gone.

As DUKE speaks he fast-forwards through the footage to the last clear frame of KITTEN and SELINA running off.

CASS “SIGNING” :

Did he just call you Babe?

DUKE :

That is completely unimportant

TIM :

Oh I think it’s important

TIM slips past DUKE and rewinds setting the footage to it’s proper speed.

DIGITAL DANNY :

By the way, the names Kitten, nice meeting you Babe

JASON :

Damn Duke, didn’t know you’d be the one to inherit B’s cat thing

DUKE :

I do not have a “Cat Thing”!

DICK :

Keep lying to yourself Tommy, we all know how that ended for Bruce

BRUCE :

I don’t have a “Cat Thing”

DAMIAN :

Father don’t lie, you’re not very good at it

STEPH :

Ten bucks says we find them somewhere they shouldn’t be in two weeks.

CASS :

I say four, deal

DUKE :

Stop betting on my relationship with the Catboy!

CASS “SIGNING” :

When did we ever say we were talking about you and Kitten?

STEPH :

The rest of the sibling begin to laugh and DUKE groans in annoyance. BRUCE pats his son’s shoulder in condolences.

BRUCE :

(Teasing)

It’s alright, just remember to clean your clothes regularly, cat hair is difficult to get out of Kevlar.

DUKE looks up at BRUCE in both disgust and betrayal. Before stomping away to the lockers

DUKE :

I hate you all!

The rest of the family laugh as he leaves.

SO GOTHAM’S A BIT WEIRD? - THE NEXT DAY/MORNING

DANNY stands outside of Middletown High staring up at it’s front building before sighing and making his way inside. There aren't that many people, just the front desk lady MS.CARTER. DANNY walks up to her.

DANNY :

Uh Hi,

MS.CARTER :

Hello

DANNY :

I’m, I’m the new student. Or like one of the new students I’m not sure.

(Awkward Laugh)

MS.CARTER :

(Sigh)

Alright, what’s you’re name?

DANNY :

Daniel Fenton.

MS.CARTER opens the filing cabinet under her desk. Moving some things around before pulling out a small folder.

MS.CARTER :

It’s a gold day so you have 1st 2nd and 2rd block today. Tomorrow is a gray day when you’ll have your last three blocks.

MS.CARTER hands DANNY his schedule and a school planner, DANNY stares at his schedule, reading through everything.

MS.CARTER :

Since you’re an Outsider you’ll have to attended the safety seminars, and read through this pamphlet.

MS.CARTER pulls out the procedure pamphlets.

MS.CARTER :

How long have you been living in Gotham?

DANNY :

About five weeks now, why?

MS.CARTER :

Did you get all your vaccines for Gotham specific aliments?

DANNY :

Yup, I got the Ivy ones, the smaller doses for the Fear gasses. Much smaller ones for the Laughing gasses. Bunch of the other I can’t name.

MS.CARTER :

You’ll want to know their names, understand.

MS.CARTER gives DANNY another pamphlet.

MS.CARTER :

This has everything you’ll need to know about the vaccine you could need and even some you might not.

DANNY :

Is that everything I’ll need to know?

MS.CARTER :

If need be you can change your schedule within the next few days, but you won’t have much freedom with it considering that you came in later in the school year.

MS.CARTER :

Also your first class is on the second floor in the green hallway. And your locker and password are on your schedule.

DANNY :

Okay, thank you Ma’am!

DANNY leaves the front desk area and goes through the door into the school. Nobody was there either, which was great for him, he didn’t want to bother having to deal with new people.

NEW CLASSMATE, WHO DIS? - CONTINUOUS

DANNY sits near the back of the classroom. The Algebra 2 teacher MR.LOGGE had put him in one of the empty seats once they got to school and opened up the classroom. A few other kids are already in the classroom and more are in the hallway outside. DANNY had found his locker, and after struggling for a while he got it open and stored his things.

People start to file in talking to each other, the bell rings and the class quiets down. MR.LOGGE stands up at the front of the classroom.

MR.LOGGE :

Good morning class, hope you’re all doing well. We just got back from fall break so lets do some introductions. Everyone up and around the room please.

The class moves and everyone stands back to the walls.

MR.LOGGE :

Your name and pronouns, favorite movie, and favorite food. Who wants to volunteer?

No one says anything

MR.LOGGE :

Alright, volun-told then

He pointed to a short Asian girl by one of the windows.

Written Together In The Stars, Before We Were Even Born

Betrothal AU

A long long time ago Time and Light met on the third hour of existence as they know it, and made a deal. They each wanted something from the other, the few sparks greed that Reality had. They could have traded these wants but they both know that the other would try and take the traded things back. So they decided to meet in the middle, Time for saw a few decades when two beings of their own would be the same age and most compatible and they both decided the two would be wed. That way neither would do anything to each other without the risk of endangering their kin. So Time now has infinite knowledge of the past and Light now has infinite knowledge of all future possibilities. Supereons into the future the time had come.

Duke and Danny wake up one morning, just turned 17, to find out they apparently have a fiance who they've never met or heard of before.

Gnomon shows up at Wayne manor during breakfast with the written contract to tell Duke about the betrothal. Duke, who hasn’t seen his bio-dad for almost a year now, is understandably suspicious. But after Gnomon thoroughly explains what’s going on and shows the very old contract, Duke can’t really deny it anymore.

Danny on the other hand was woken up by the contract falling on his head via Clockwork bullshit. His first reaction was to burst into Jazz’s room and scream about it, then Jazz called Sam and Tucker. They all went over the contract multiple times before they decided that Danny at least needed to find his betrothed.

The contract came with only a first name, with a home city written as well, just to make it a little easier for everyone

Danny’s the one who goes out to find Duke

The Batfam end up searching for Danny like the stalkers they are

It gets kinda ridiculous with all the things they find, [does anyone else know about the purple back gorillas Danny saved from extinction?] what with him being Vlad Masters’ godson and apparently almost died when he was fourteen

None of Danny’s pictures look right because of the whole ghostly thing, the ones with him younger are kinda visible if a bit blurry [Jazz & Danny being mildly liminal since birth is a little headcanon of mine]

BUt because they were before puberty and before he started taking testosterone [all i can hear is past pronunciation], those old pics look wildly different from what Danny looks like now

Duke decides to take a break and just go to his favorite bookstore/cafe, he mainly goes there for peace and quiet and to write his stories and poems

The Eclipse is a bookstore/library/lounge combo, with a warm tone dark academia jazz/painter aesthetic

The three floors above ground are the library got little reading nooks, and study areas

The basement is the lounge area with a corner where the owners keep their own things/activities and drink bar on a wall

The owners are twins, Sarah and Edward Sulaiman, Sarah plays string instruments, jazz mainly, Edward paints people, still, and landscapes

It was midday but you wouldn’t be able to tell from the water heavy clouds and smog covering the Gotham sky like a blanket on top of a pillow fort.

A teenage boy walks the streets of Gotham, there’s nothing awfully unusual about that. He’s Filipino, average height a bit on the taller side, muscle hidden under his clothes loose with a visible silhouette. His fluffy black hair bounces with each step and his eyes, they’re a… wrong shade of blue, let's say that. His eyes scan the streets looking for someone he’d never seen before, never even heard of before this morning. He’d been doing so for hours now.

A heavy drop of rain hit the boy square on the top of his head, the boy recoiled into himself like a cat, clutching his wooden staff in surprise. He looks up to the sky, eyes wide as the sky seems to dump an ocean onto the earth.

The boy runs, looking up and down the street for cover, until he sees a store front with a covered porch. Ducking underneath the roof he stares out into the street where the pouring rain curtains everything.

Sighing, the boy turned to the door of the store, looking at the sign all it said was The Eclipse. The water drops from his body like he was never drenched.

Pushing the double door open a soft jingle sounded through the building, he looked around a checkout desk was to his right another kid behind the counter. The two stared at each other before the kid behind the counter set down their book.

“Welcome to The Eclipse bookstore and lounge, the lounge is in the basement, this floor is the bookstore, the two upper floors are a library. Need anything else?”

The boy shook his head, “Nah, I’m good.”

The kid nodded and went back to their book.

The boy decided to just go to the third floor, see what they had. The soft murmurs he could hear coming from the basement gave him enough reason to avoid all the people.

There weren’t many people on the upper floors, just more books and a couple lounge chairs. On the top floor he saw a curtain over an open entrance in the back.

Danny sighed in relief, a small cubby to relax in would be nice. Gliding over feet barely touching the ground as he mimed walking.

He moved aside the yellow curtain with his staff, and came face to face with another boy who had taken over the desk on the opposite wall.

The boy looked up from his papers and turned to Danny. The ghost was taken aback by how pretty the other boy was.

“Oh hey, you can sit here if you want,” The boy said, motioning to the small couch on the far wall.

Danny nodded, and went over to the couch, plopping down, his eyes glanced over to the other boy.

“So um, my names Danny by the way,”

Duke looked over to the cute boy on the couch. He’d come to The Eclipse to escape all the talk about his betrothed, it didn't hurt to talk to someone new, who might share a name with his fiance.

“I’m Duke, are you new to The Eclipse? I’ve never seen you around before.”

Danny nodded, “Just recently got to the city, I’m looking for a- a friend.”

Duke raised an eyebrow, “You don’t sound so sure about that.”

“Well I haven’t met them yet – Danny rubbed the back of his neck – All I got is a name.”

Danny blinked then looked at Duke with eyes wide, “You two actually have the same name.”

The two starred, and Duke got a sinking feeling that they were looking for each other.

Duke groaned, leaning back in his chair, “Daniel right?”

Danny nodded, still staring wide eyed, “Daniel Fenton-Phantom.”

He stood up walking over to Danny and sitting down next to him, the other pulled in his legs staring at Duke.

“Duke Thomas-Wayne,” He offered up his hand, Danny shook it.

“So we’re betrothed,” Danny said kinda breathless.

“Yeah, it seems so,” Duke said, looking to the ceiling.

They sat there, almost shoulder to shoulder.

“Twenty questions?” Danny asked.

Duke looked at him again, “Yeah sure why not.”

They chat for a bit, just talking getting to know each other

They get along swimmingly, and Duke says Danny could come with him to Wayne Manor latter to meet his family

Danny invites Duke to come over to Amity and met his sister and friends

The small room on top of The Eclipse, Bookstore and Lounge, has a few tall bookshelves, a couch on the far wall and a desk opposite to the entrance.

Today its giant bay window, by the couch, is being hit by heavy drops or rain, the room lit by a soft yellow light from a simple chandelier on the ceiling. A couple paintings made by one of the owners.

Blankets kept under the couch that had been pulled out and draped over the sleeping boy. Books pulled off the shelves and opened on the desk presented to the boy writing in his many notebooks and papers.

It was quiet with only white noise, it was nice, familiar even.

Two being too big to be perceived by the mortal mind, watched with fond emotions as their plans fell into perfect place.

Gnomon and Bruce end up going out to look for Duke at The Eclipse

I don’t know these two relationship but I’m getting reluctant co-parents with benefits, so ya know

Anyway they end up finding Duke, who’s fallen asleep

Danny had woken up at some point and moved Duke to the couch and gave him a blanket, Danny himself is on the floor asleep leaning on the couch

The dads coo over their boy a bit cause this is adorable

When Gnomon gets closer Danny’s ghost sense goes off and is immediately on his feet and guarding Duke, who’s starting to wake up

Bruce and Gnomon blinked at the teenage boy brandishing his staff at them, standing protectively in front of their son.

Bruce takes a tentative step forward, the boy immediately turns his staff to the man.

“Stay back,” He growled.

Gnomon raised an eyebrow, and Bruce frowned at the kid. But neither moved

Duke groaned, waking up slowly taking in the scene around him, before quickly sitting up, “B, Uba? What are you doing here?”

The boy looked between the fathers and their son.

“You know them?” He asked.

Duke stood up, “Yeah they’re my dads.”

Both men would deny that they preened from the title their child had given them.

“Oh – The boy’s face fell and he immediately pulled into himself, awkwardly shuffled to Duke’s side – Sorry about that Sirs.”

“No need to worry, your worry for Duke is understandable,” Bruce said, smiling softly.

Gnomon nodded, “But we must ask, who are you child?”

Duke and the boy shared a glance.

The boy stepped forward, reaching out a hand, “Daniel Fenton-Phantom, Duke’s betrothed.”

I See All of You & You Are Magnificent

Monster x Monster

When Duke and Danny first met they could see through eachothers glamor and were immediately taken by each other's true form. Both of their forms are inconceivable to most people, and they both have a deep want to be known and loved for their true selves.

Duke’s form is very bright, the light he generates is blinding, under it he is like a bird, the Grey Crowned Crane to be specific. But he doesn’t really look like one, kind of like those angels with a bunch of eyes and wings, he’s got a bird neck/head and a pair of his wings are connected to his arms like bat wings. The golden rings of eyes are around his head, torso and legs. He’s got a giant pair of wings on his back and a set on his heels. His bird head and his human head exist at the same time kinda like those holographic drawings where you see it depending on how you look at it.

Danny is kinda like a black hole he produces no light but a slight rim of light going into him. Under all of that he’s got long thin and sharp limbs. His suit looks like it’s just a pattern on his skin, and the symbol has kinda faded away. He's got these big antlers on his head and his mouth is filled with fangs, to the point where it doesn’t seem like he should be able to close his mouth. His hands are sharp and slaw like, and his eyes blink sideways. His tongue is uncomfortably long.

They both look disturbingly uncanny without their glamorous, and some of their true form traits can peek through. Like Duke’s extra eyes being able to see the future are visible over where the rings would be. Or Danny’s fangs and claws accidentally ripping into things.

DUKE

No you don’t understand he sees me and I can see him and he’s perfect. I’m not all that human and I’ve never been and when Danny looks at me he doesn’t just see some random human boy he sees me. He sees the blinding light of my existence and he can perceive me and he loves me. And I love him, in all his eldritch horror he is perfect to me and I love him. Because he’s him and he understands me to my core. I love him.

DANNY

It’s just- he just gets me. He can see me for me and he always has. And Jazz the first time Duke looked at me he seemed so enamored by me, so taken by me, and he saw me for me every time he saw me. He wants me even though I’m an ugly and horrific being. And I love him even though he deserves so much more than me. He is so bright and beautiful and he is the sun and I love him.

When Gnomon and Duke first fought the light bomb went off and the glamor that Elaine had put over Duke was forcefully removed by the explosion. Bruce and Duke were terrified and Gnomon took his chance to make a deal with Duke. Duke comes to the archives with him and learns how to make his own glamor and adapt to his true form.

Duke is able to convince him to just bring the proper information to Gotham so he doesn’t have to leave. Bruce offores up Wayne Manor as a place where Duke could learn.

It takes a couple of months and Gnomon gets a bit of a redemption arc in that time, but he is unable to properly heal Elaine and Doug.

Now Duke can make his own glamor and knows some things about Gnomon’s side of the family. He’s gone back to living a relatively normal life if you don’t count the vigilante and ethereal being stuff.

Duke being born of an archivist and being of light is kind of weird. He speaks/writes all languages and knows far too much. While also being able to manipulate light and the lack of light, along with seeing where all light was/is/will be. Combined those last two abilities give him future visions, which are underdeveloped because of his age and inexperience.

The Batfam’s reaction to Duke not being a regular meta and actually being a high caliber ethereal being was better than it could have been. They all had already gotten close to Duke and were accepting of his weaker powers, but the knowledge that Duke was so much more than they could ever be was daunting.

Duke was scared that they may never want him back, Cass was the first to notice Duke shrinking into himself and she quickly made sure the others knew how their less than stellar reactions. They all go out of their way to make sure Duke knows he’s loved even though he’s different. Duke really appreciates their new attitude.

When Duke is feeding into his archivist habits he spends his time in the Wayne Library, letting some of his inhuman traits come through.

Duke keeps going to Middletown South with Izzy, Troy, Dre & Riko, and lives between his cousin Jay’s home and Wayne Manor.

As Danny gets older as a ghost his ghostly form becomes more and eldritch, he’s been instinctively making a secondary glamor to go over his ghostly form so nobody goes mad because of it. When he defeats Pariah, Clockwork and Frostbite take him aside and explain that his true form needs to start dropping the glamor more and learn how to take care of himself in that aspect.

So Danny spends the rest of Sophomore year figuring out himself and what it means to be him, as both a person and a ghost. Over this time he sets up some truces with the other ghosts so he doesn't have to stress every second.

Before Danny’s Junior year the Fenton parents decided to move to Gotham because of all the spooky shit that happens over there. Jazz is already living there for college and even though Danny is against it they end up dragging him to Jersey.

Danny is enrolled in Middletown South, which is thankfully similar enough to Casper High that Danny doesn’t have too much of a culture shock.

DUKE

I’d noticed a sort of void that whole day really, I hadn’t thought much of them until they started looking my way.

And when I took a peak at them and saw them for their truth, I could barely even breath.

He’s magnificent, gorgeous, in an eldritch way that just fits him. His antlers were bigger than the regular kid, spiraling out of control. His claws are so sharp I swear they could cut through space itself.

And he was looking at me, he saw me.

DANNY

It was like seeing a bright light right on your peripherals. I just had to look over, see what I couldn’t quite see.

He was so painfully bright I had to blink a couple dozen times before I could see him properly.

He’s magnificent, wonderful, ethereal even. His largest wings seemed to lay all around him, his eyes glancing this way and that way.

Until they settled on me and saw me.

Duke and Danny first say to each other on the first day of school, second period math class. They’d both been able to feel each other's presence, but neither went out of their way to really look at each other until then.

Danny was the first to take a peak, what with Duke being a literal beacon of light he wasn’t easy to ignore. Duke saw him second, noticing the staring and truly focused on Danny and saw him. They both fell for each other right then and there.

Neither really realized the whole love thing and just wanted to get to know each other. Duke ends up inviting Danny to come and sit with him and his friends for lunch. Izzy, and Dre catch on quickly to Duke’s semi crush on Danny, and get Troy and Riko in on the whole setting the two up. They exchanged numbers and Danny agrees to meet with them again tomorrow. Btws Dax goes to another school.

When the Fentons moved to Gotham they did so to try and learn more about the Gotham specific ghosts they think exist there. They ended up choosing Crime Alley “Park Row” as a place to stay in because of the higher levels of ectoplasm and the Red Hood being known to be kinda ghostly. Jack and Maddie spend most of the first month they’re in Gotham setting up shop in the basement of the building they’ve moved into.

Jazz and Danny are basically living out of Jazz’s dorm at Gotham University. Jazz’s roommate hasn’t moved in yet so the two get the place to themselves. Danny doesn’t want to listen to their parents prepare for their ghost hunting bullshit. And Jazz would much rather have her brother around instead of being alone for the two weeks before college.

Danny isn’t doing the whole Phantom thing anymore cause 1) isn't really needed with all the heroes in Gotham, 1.5) he doesn’t want to encroach on the bat’s terf, 2) he really needs this break, and 3) it’s better if his parents assume Phantom didn’t follow them all the way to Jersey.

Jack and Maddie do stake outs after they’re ready, at this point it’s a week into the school year. They pick up a very weak ectoplasmic signature from Jason, but he’s similar to Vlad in intensity so they aren’t sure if he’s dead or if he got infected by some pure ectoplasm. They run after him at one point, but then Jason shoots at them with very real guns and they decide to just back off for now.

As the weeks go by Danny gets closer to the WR group, he and Riko have third and fourth period, Izzy and him share sixth period with Duke, and Troy and Dre have first period together with Danny. Danny doesn’t really talk much about his family besides his sister going to GU and his parents deciding to move to Gotham as well because it had better opportunities for their work.

One day after school, when Danny’s walking to Jazz’s place, Danny almost gets mugged and Duke comes down and saves him. They recognize each other on sight and just kinda stare, before Danny says something stupid like, “I knew you were an angel the moment I saw you, just didn’t think you’d be the guardian type.” Then Duke laughs and says something equally dumb like, “Well the most lovely of beings always deserve a guardian angel don’t they?”

Of course then Danny has to swear he’ll keep the whole Duke is Signal thing. This is when the two start actually flirting with each other, and like falling for eachother.

After their retreat from Red Hood, the Fentons decide to go after a new vigilante, Black Bat. Because obviously if nobody can ever sense, hear, or really see them, then they have to be a ghost.

Cass being Cass is basically impossible to track, but she has enough ectoplasm in her system that they get small pings from her. Eventually Maddie and Jack corner Cass, she mainly lets them do so out of curiosity. They tried to attack or pin her down, but Cass just led them on a wild goose chase across Gotham.

They lose her, and end up just deciding to head back home, it’s dawn and Signal is still out on the town. Jack and Maddie get a weird alert, and follow it to him. They see Signal using his powers a little. Because Duke isn’t really a ghost he ticks off the Fentons’ general supernatural being detector. Now the Fentons have someone else to hunt down.

Duke isn’t a ghost or ectoplasmic being, he’s more of a different thing. A hybrid between the Ichor Beings of Light[Gnomon], and the Archivists[Elaine] who are a branch species from the Ichor Beings. Elaine was an Archivist of Light before she gave up that power running away from Gnomon. So the Fenton tech doesn’t affect him.

Jason was the first to mention the Fentons hunting him down, Cass said later that they had started tailing her, and when they actually kept up with her the rest of the family got a tad curious. Then a month in the school year they shot at Signal in broad daylight. Now everybody is worried, the shot didn’t do much besides push Duke back, kinda like a bb gun.

Duke immediately up and dipped because he was not about to deal with that, but tagged the Fentons with a tracker/bug to find out who they are. Duke does some digging into the Fentons with Cass and Jason, when they find out about Danny and Jazz, Duke is stunned, scared a little even.

Duke ends up telling the rest of the Batfam about Danny and that he knows about the whole Duke is Signal thing. Of course they all can tell that Duke is crushing hard on the eldritch son of two mad scientists. Bruce’s first reaction is holy shit please god why. Because all his children end up with people that he knows probably aren't the best idea. Cass asks him if Danny can come over for a visit [interrogation]. Duke agrees to ask Danny to come round, but as long as the bats promise not to overwhelm him.

Because the W Robins already know about the whole bat thing it's just Danny who's kind of out of the loop.

At this point Duke and Danny kinda got a situationship going on, they're not really dating but they're kinda also flirting with each other. It's basically a matter of time until they get together at this point, so getting Danny to agree to come over to Wayne manor was relatively easy.

The next day over the phone Duke tells Danny that his parents shot at him while Duke was Signal, and Danny is so embarrassed and concerned. He apologizes for his parents and what they did. Duke convinces Danny to come over to his foster family's place, the batfamily, so they could talk about it more, and what the colony could do to prevent the Fentons from becoming a problem.

Danny agrees to come over, the next day around dawn near the end of Signal’s patrol, Duke takes his bike and goes to pick up Danny and drive him to the batcave through the underground tunnels.

Danny spends the first few minutes in the batcave just ogling all the new things, then the bats go out of their way to scare the shit out of him before they get the meeting underway.

Danny explains that his parents came to Gotham to investigate the ectoplasm levels and the stories about the bats being inhuman. They went after Red Hood and Black Bat because they have enough levels of ectoplasm to be traced with Fenton tech.

After Danny agrees to help them bypass the sensors, Bruce asks about Danny’s own inhuman nature he gets a bit clammy about it, but explains that he was basically conceived, born and raised in a home with high levels of ectoplasm floating around, it just took one accident to really strip him of his humanity fully.

Duke drives Danny home a little after that, they end up talking outside Jazz’s dorm building, a minor confession occurs but they’re both stupid and don’t realize what happened. Jazz immediately teases Danny about him hanging out with Signal, Danny denies that anything is happening between them.

Okay so Duke and Danny, when they first meet each other it was more in the sense of “Wow they are so cool and pretty I wanna be their friend”. Then when they meet as Signal and Danny it’s kinda like “Holy heck did not know you were so beautiful/hot”. Now they’re kinda flirty with each other, but neither think that the other actually likes them.

So it’s this dumb will they won't they kinda think, and everyone around them is so done with them about it.

I'm posting about the Thomas Family now because I can't deny the voices anymore!

Elaine has hyperlexia as one of her more dominant tism traits

You will not be able to find this woman without a book or writing in hand

Doug found it endearing at first but then he caught Elaine up at 5 am devouring a book under a bright night light when he came back home & decided it was probs not a great idea

Duke gets his reading addiction from her absolutely & his parents where trying to set up a proper bedtime but he'd always smuggle a book or puzzle book into his room at night

Doug has a big sister I'm calling Tracy short for Patricia who has a son Jay[Jay is canon although his familial relation to Duke is like just cousin with not much else said] short for Jayden

Doug is a couple years younger than his sister like im thinking 9 or so

Tracy had moved with her husband Alvin Peters & Jay to Bludhaven when Jay was little tho they would visit the rest of the family in Gotham as often as they could

Doug & Tracy's parents are Patrick & Lucinda Thomas & they are wonderful people

When Elaine runs to Gotham she gets a job as an archival assistant at a college library in Gotham, Doug is working on getting a degree in engineering & is immediately smitten with the pretty assistant who helped him get a textbook that was hidden deep in the library

In my head Elaine has Duke before she & Doug even start dating, & Duke is a a toddler when they do get married

But he's too baby to have realized that his parents hadn't been married before

Popular Boy x Loner New Kid

Danny moves to Gotham with his family after the portal is closed for good. His parents know he’s Phantom and they’re all just trying to heal from all the just general Ghost trauma. Danny ends up enrolled at Middletown High for Junior year, while Jazz starts her first year at Gotham University.

Duke has always been a popular and beloved person, mainly from the fact that he’s a Star, specifically our Solar system’s Star, and Gotham doesn’t get much sunlight so people were always drawn towards him. As he got older he was always the popular kid in school having a bunch of friends. When Elaine found out she warned him that he had to be critical about the people he lets get close to him, and to not let all the awe people have of him get to his head. Since then his close friend count got cut down a bunch and he ended up with a couple really close friends, all who trust each other with their lives. He’s not THE popular kid but he is one OF the popular kids.

This AU is all about mutual pining and miscommunication

I want Danny watching Duke and The Flock [We Are Robin Gang] be besties from the other side of the cafeteria and being jealous and lonely sitting by himself

Duke being the one to give Danny a tour and that being how they meet for the first time

Duke trying to befriend the cute new boy, but never really working up the courage to say anything

Danny thinking Duke’s just another mean popular kid like Paulina until he sees that Duke is genuinely a good guy

Danny’s the type of person to not hear a conversation he’s listening into all the way through, which results in more miscommunication

And Duke would jump to a lot of conclusions b/c he has a writer's brain which leads him making all the wrong assumptions

Rasberries & Lemon Delights

Country Boy!Danny x Emo Punk!Duke

Danny[18] goes to live with Aunt Alicia on the family farm for a gap year, which just so happens to be in Smallville. He’s been there since January. A town in the middle of nowhere with at least a nice small population of people, it's not a big jump from small town Amity Park.

Duke[18] doesn’t usually visit the Kents but he had nothing better to do and Damian[16] wanted to go see Jon[15] for the summer, so roadtrip it was. Besides, Duke didn’t have much else to do and Martha & Jonathan had invited him to stay as well. It’ll be fun to just get away from the constant buzz of Gotham.

The Palad Family Farm has a rasberry orchard [it should be spelled this way or like raz(s)berry, not fucking RASPberry I had to fucking look this up, it’s only ever been spelled rasberry in my head, english can go suck my dick [sorry bout that anyways]] with a couple chikens and cow and a produce garden. it’s off to the side compared to the others in Smallville, separated by a line of trees that you might be able to call a forest. Their closest neighbors are the Kents, and that’s through the trees.

For this AU i changed the boys’ appearance a little bit

Duke is less emo-punk and more punk-emo when it comes to his aesthetic

Danny’s bigger in the muscle aspect kinda like a toned down version of Jack

About a week into their stay Danny comes over to the Kent’s to bring over some rasberries as a gift.

The kids just so happen to be hanging out outside when he walks up.

Duke sat lounging on a chair he’d dragged out to the front lawn, reading his book which sat heavy between his cross legs.

Damian and Jon were further into the brush chatting and messing around.

The only thing really odd were the sunglasses the brothers wore, heavily shaded and thick, with the bright Kansas sun and being from one of the gloomiest cities of the world it was practically a necessity.

Jon paused as he spoke and looked down the road, both brothers turned their heads in interest.

A couple meters down the road a young man Duke’s age was walking their way, a straw garden hat on his head, holding a crate in his arms.

The kryptonian smiled and stood up waving at the approaching stranger, “Hey Danny!” he shouted in greeting.

The stranger whose name was evidently named Danny walked up the driveway to the Kent house.

“Hey Jon! Who are your friends?” He said with a smile.

“Damian and Duke, family friends. They’re visiting for the summer.” Jon said happily as he pointed at each sibling.

Damian stood up and walked over to Jon’s side “Nice to meet you” . His voice was as flat as it always was with strangers.

Duke nodded at Danny, “Sup.”

Danny nodded back with a smile, before turning back to Jon, “Me and Aunt Alicia harvested some rasberries yesterday, we got a lot and where wondering if y’all wanted some.”

Jon’s face lit up like a star, “Fuck yeah! Ma’s gonna love ��em! Come on!”

Jon took Damian’s hand and pulled him back to the house, Damian and Danny following. Duke sighed and decided to go as well, closing his book he stood up and caught up with them. He ended up walking side by side with Danny.

Danny looks down to the shorter boy walking by his side. Duke is gorgeous in an ethereal way, brown eyes almost glowing under his sunnies, winged with perfect black eyeliner. His face was stoic in the same way Damian’s was, little to no emotion shown. It didn’t take away from his serene and chill vibes though.

Duke glances up at Danny, and the taller boy quickly looks away to the Kent house, face flushed.

He almost missed the playful smirk that spread on Duke’s face.

Ma thanks Danny for the raspberry and ropes him into chatting for a bit with the boys adding little commentary and things

Duke’s trying to not be obvious about staring at Danny’s muscles

Dami & Jon notice of course

Jon and Dami glanced at each other as Duke tried to grab their attention, desperately trying to make them stop whatever they were scheming.

“Hey Danny?” Jon says

Danny looks towards the teen, “Yeah?”

“Damian and Duke kinda just got to Smallville and they haven’t even gone all that deep into the fields, – Jon leans in a bit with a wide smile – We could go out tomorrow and us country kids could show them around?”

“I wouldn’t mind that, how ‘bout ‘round after 10?” Danny afford with a smile.

Danny shows them around the area near his family’s farm

Damian and Jon end up scurrying off to let Danny & Duke be alone, of course they’re watching from the sidelines

Duke pretends to be externally calm but is kinda freaking out on the inside his internal monologue is “Hot Boy Hot Boy That was so fucking weird don’t say that again God he’s so fucking funny I kinda wanna kiss him”

Danny is much the same, but he’s not very good at hiding how flustered he is, he’s smiling like a goof and his face is all flushed “Pretty Boy Cute Boy Pretty Goth Boy I have a type Ancients I wanna kiss him”

Duke is not so subtly flirting with Danny, complementing his muscle, being actively interested when Danny talks about the farm and his friends back home

Danny’s also flirting back of course, drifting closer to Duke, asking him about Gotham and his friend, the book he was reading yesterday

When they get to the Palad family farm, Jon and Dami had already gotten there and where drinking some sweet tea with Alicia

Alicia is of course entertained with Danny’s crush, and watches as he and Duke walk around the rasberry orchard

When Jon and the brothers have to go back Duke and Danny trade numbers, even though they’ll probably talk again tomorrow and basically the rest of the summer

They’re both smitten with each other

Duke and Damian are in the attic of the Kent farmhouse, each on their own twin bed on either side of the room

Duke: *yearning sigh*

Dami *teasing*: You like the Palad boy don’t you?

Duke *suspicious*: No ... Whatcha gonna do about it?

Dami: Oh nothing it’s just funny, you always said you wouldn’t fall for someone on the family type list

Duke: What are you- *realization* oh OH! Screw you, you can’t say shit Dames! *chucks pillow at Dami who’s laughing* I see how you look at Jon *teasing*

Dami: Shush! Don’t say that he could hear you!

Duke *smirking* : Or what? not my country boy to worry about

Dami groans and flops into pillow tossing back Duke’s pillow & flipping him off

Duke laughs and lays onto his back, staring up at the ceiling with a smile, before closing his eyes and going to sleep

Danny and Alicia are eating dinner

Alicia: So the Wayne boys, I only really got to talk to Damian, what’s Duke like?

Danny *excited*: Oh he’s so cool! He’s reading this romance novel right now. Sounds really cool, so I might drop by the library to check if they have it!

As Danny talks about Duke, Alicia watches him with a smile

Alicia: When are you gonna go out and see him again?

Danny: Not sure, but I hope sooner or later

Alicia: mmm, If you like so much you better ask him out soon

Danny *high pitched*: What!

Alicia *laughing*: Duke’s the new mysterious pretty boy in town. The other kids your age will be falling over themselves to get to know him

Danny tries not to let himself look stressed, Alicia shakes her head fondly

Alicia: Don’t worry to much kid, Duke already seems to like you, you’ve got a good chance of winning his heart

Danny sighs at his food

Danny: I hope so

I don’t know where I wanna put this but like Alicia has a weird reputation in Smallville

She doesn’t leave her farm very often, only for big events like the Farmers market

And she has most of everything she needs for food at her farm

If she does need to buy something she’ll pop into town at the weirdest of times and leave quickly

When Danny comes around this doesn’t really change, he goes out into town more than her

There were a couple rumors about Ms.Alicia’s nephew staying for awhile

Danny’s been basically the line connecting Alicia and the rest of town

Anyway back to the main plot!

What Alicia said is true, the few other college kids visiting their family in Smallville do want to get closer to Duke

Duke doesn’t really mind, since he’s always kinda been popular, but he insists on staying with Danny at all times

Danny sometimes feels jealous so he often does things to catch Duke’s attention, even though he knows he doesn’t have to do much

When Summer Farmer’s Market time rolls around a bunch of farmers in Smallville drive to the bigger town nearby Dolmeny Town

Alicia & Danny have their own stand selling more rasberry desserts & treats, along with some little carved statues that Danny makes

The Kents also have a stand, selling breads, a few milk products, and flowers pressed and or fresh from Ma’s garden

The stands are like right across from each other as well, both in the food section

Danny & Duke  staring at each other from across the street, going over to each other’s stands to buy a few things

Duke complementing the rasberry pastries, and Danny promises to save some for him later

It ends up becoming a a date, they meet up near the end of the day, Duke brings a bouquet he made and Danny brings some rasberry scones

They sit at a bench and just start talking about themselves learning more about each other

Cute stuff like that, by the end of it they’re holding hands when Danny walks Duke back to the Kent’s at the end of the day

I have other date ideas, as well. Maybe there’s a party or concert going on in Dolmeny that Danny found out about and they go there. I think they’d have similar music tastes

Going to a cafe, and talking about their favorite foods

The library, where Duke gets Danny to read some of the romance novels he loves

Duke buying some gotham brand lemon candy for Danny, like the really sour stuff cause Danny mentioned he liked sour stuff

Going to the lake for a beach day with the others

Just hanging out together

Danny fixing Duke’s makeup cause he’s done it for Sam before

Of course I want a scene or part where the rest of the Superfam and Batfam, and the Fentons plus Sam & Tucker of course

Come over to visit their family in Smallville for the summer, like a week or even just a day or two

Jazz, Tuck & Sam meeting Duke for the first time and him & Sam immediately getting along

Conner dragging the kids to a bigger concert than they’ve ever been to before

Batfam mildly hazing Danny because they can

The Fentons being able to play wrestle with the Supers with no real problem cause of liminal bullshit

The three families having a big dinner on the last day with barbecue and such, it’s basically a feast with how many people and food is there

Danny & Duke walk away near the end and go for a walk together

The sun’s set and the sky is filled with stars, as Danny talks on about the constellations and planets the two sit together

Eventually they get to talking about what will happen when the summer's over, Danny’s going to either Caltech or Princeton and Duke will be going back to Gotham U for his second year

Princeton’s in Gotham, so it would keep them closer, but Caltech has the first best Space Science program in the country

Duke doesn’t want to affect such a big decision in Danny’s life, and Danny really wants to go to Caltech

Danny chooses Caltech [Cause he deserves it gosh darnit! and if their relationship doesn’t pan out at least they have a whole country between them]

They end the night with a kiss!

General Notes

May I introduce to you my headcanons for Duke and Danny

Let’s start with Danny cause he changed the most [kinda]

The Fentons are a mixed Filipino-Cuban family [Maddie-Jack] b/c I wanted to [I am not Filipino or Cuban so if I mess up somewhere please tell me!] Jazz, Danny and Maddie all grew up learning and speaking Tagalog

Maddie and Alicia are Filipino-American & 3rd gen immigrants, their family name is Palad

Alicia’s farm was something their aunt had owned then later left to Alicia since her kids didn’t want it

Jack’s mom Olivia nee Castro was Cuban and his dad Rupert Fenton was white [that’s the Fenton-Nightingale side]

Danny is transmasc and has been presenting as such for awhile now

As like a general assumption, the Fentons aren't Horrible vivisect their child kind of parents in most of my AUs, they just aren't perfect half the time

Now onto Duke!

Duke is Nigerian, with both Elaine and Gnomon being centuries old for the most part [depends on AU but before Europeans started their bullshit]

Duke speaks an old dialect of Hausa that Elaine and Gnomon had grown up with and one he grew speaking it along with English

His adopted Dad Doug Thomas is Black, and he has an Aunt and Uncle Tracy & Alvin Jackson who live and in Bludhaven

Duke’s cousin [who’s cannon] Jay Jackson is a decade or so older than Duke and his legal guardian after his parents couldn’t do so

Duke still lives with the Wayne’s sometimes [they were his foster family until Jay could get custody] just jumping between each

The We Are Robin gang are still together but no longer as a group of vigilantes but as friends

I call them The Flock and they each have their own bird nicknames, Izzy|Fieldfare, Riki|-Galerinda, Dax|Alaemon, Andre|Blackbird, Dracy-Joanna “DJ”|Sparrow

They had another member Troy|Warbler he died during the Robin Wars when he was trying to defuse a bomb, it was rigged to blow anyway

Danny does this thing where he just stares at Duke for prolonged periods of time

Duke thought he’d be bothered by it but he actually likes it alot, for Danny to just look at him like he’s his only light

Danny’s always had dysphoria around his body, especially after he started to become more ghostly

Duke always thought he was beautiful and would tell him as such, he loved to watch Danny blush like a fool at his words

I’ve always thought of Danny as a romantic, he’s the type of person to do anything for his partner

He thrives off of physical affection and word of affirmation

Duke is also kinda romantic but he finds it difficult to do physical things, when he truly loves a person he holds them alot, taking their hand, hugging them, things like that

He loves to get things from people he loves, and acts of service

These two are made for each other I swear

EXTRA AUS

Full Ghost Danny AU, ie: Danny is possessing his body and the ectoplasm is working as a preservative, he still ages though

Banshee Danny: Spirits that predict misfortune & death with their screams or songs, sometimes causing it, birdlike often beings, Irish in origin

Siren Ember: Spirits that lure sailors to the rocks they perch on, not actually fish or mermaids but bird and or harpy like beings, Greek in origin

Johnny’s just straight up bad luck

Danny's parents aren't all that excepting of the whole ya know being dead thing

They aren't horrible! It like they acknowledge that he's dead and they just decided to act like he isn't

Basically gaslighting themselves and him in an attempt for something normal

This all around a bad thing for Danny, the amount of stress and anxiety it puts him under is just bad

So he makes the first move and moves into the Ghost Zone permanently

Dropping out of school and only keeping in contact with Jazz, Tucker and Sam

During this his haunt just so happens to have naturally placed itself by Ember, Johnny and Kitty's haunts so he ends up hanging out with them more casually.

Eventually it’s like they’re siblings/found family

Ember teaches Danny the bass and they like to sing together

Johnny and Danny bond over bikes, what with Danny’s initially limited knowledge, and Johnny ends up teaching Danny how to ride a motorcycle

Kitty and Danny are absolute fashion geeks together, Kitty was the one to help Danny completely overhaul his wardrobe to fit him

At some point Ember suggests they start a band, Johnny and Danny are on board but Kitty isn’t about being on stage but she does agree to help with other things

The go through a random portal and pop out in Gotham, they set up base in a warehouse and get to working on how get a gig in this city

Dax Chill [Duke’s friend and actually the kid of Joe Chill who killed the Waynes, yes this is cannon] found this new band that’s going to debut as an introduction it Gotham on Saturday

The Flock [We are Robin] like to go out to shows sometimes so they all agree to take a day off and go see the new band “Embers & Dead Kids”

The shows amazing and the WaR are having so much fun just dancing and hanging out

The rest of the party also liked the show

But Duke’s eyes were only on the bassist of the band, and the youngest one who’s the The Flock’s age

The Flock ends up going to a lot of the shows the Dead Kids are in, quickly becoming fans of the band
