Environment Design Research

I really wanted to draw the environment in isometric perspective, so I looked at other 2D games with isometric perspective as reference. I mainly looked at environments from hades and Death's door as inspiration:

I mainly looked at how the playable areas were framed, and the shapes used for the arenas.

I also looked at images of caves in order to get ideas for how I could incorporate the shapes of the stalactites and stalagmites in my environment designs

I also took inspiration for the map from the map from hollow knight, as I really like the simple style of it and how clear it is even though it's quite big and complex.
