Yandere! Merlin Headcanons [BBC Merlin]

He always makes sarcastic remarks towards you

It irritates you, especially since you are a higher rank than him

You always bring that up, but he doesn't take you seriously, much to your displeasure

He treats you as equals, but you are not

At first you find him annoying, rude, and disrespectful

But he does end up showing his worth

In the beginning, he tries using his magic to get you to like him

He knows it's wrong, but he really did want your approval

In a way, he looks up to you. Though, he becomes protective of you when seeing you nearly die

"I want to come with you"

^ You look at him, confused, "What? No, you can't come with me. You're not qualified-"

"I'm perfectly qualified," He pressures. He doesn't want you to not come back. He's intelligent and will end up tricking you into letting him come

He follows you like a lost puppy and sticks to you like a leach

He's genuinely obsessed with you

He is willing to risk his life for you. For without you he is nothing

You come off mean and rude, but Merlin knows you're better than that

You're nice, kind, and caring, but you don't like being vulnerable

He wants to tell you about his magic, but he's scared that you'll be scared of him

He wants you to know everything about him

You both have brief moments were he almost tells you. You have a moment together and he feels like the rest of the world is gone and it's just you and him

He wants to fill the hole in his heart. The isolation and loneliness fill his life and he puts the pressure on you

When he gets older and sadder and angrier, you end up getting closer to him

^ He pushes everyone out, except you, but you had to fight for that

"I don't know what your problem is, but I'm not letting you push me out. You forced your way into my life for years and you think you can now just shove me out when we're friends? No way"

^ "You don't even like me anyway"

^ "Why would you think that?"

^ "You don't know anything about me"

^ "What are you talking about? I know everything about you"

^ He laughs, "Well, there is one thing you don't know about me. You'd hate me"

^You frown before sitting down next to him, "If I don't hate you now, there's nothing you can say that would make me hate you. I'd do anything to help you, Merlin"

^ He doesn't say anything and you frown

You wanted him to confide in you, but he's changed and it makes you sad

You're scared of losing him to his emotions and when you tell him that, he apologizes

He becomes only nice to you

Besides, even if he tries being mean and pushing you out, you just force your way back in

Besides, he hates seeing you sad/crying

Our New King Needs An Advisor

Welcome to the Kingarthurtournament Extended Universe! For those who weren't there for last tournament, at @kingarthurtournament we democratically elected the new King of England: The Swedish Little Girl Who Found a Thousand Year Old Sword In a Lake. Now our new ruler has to establish her court and first and foremost she need A Merlin.

Some rules to follow for submissions

We are looking for a magic user of some kind/a wise person, or you know, some guy named Merlin or someone who happen to have a king Arthur of sort that they follow around. Gender and age don't matter here (although a long white beard is appreciated)

You can subject as many characters as you want but only submit them once please

I will accept any adaptation of/work inspired by the arthurian legend as well as places, brands, objects, animals... real or fictional as long as they fit the theme.

I might not get the reference tho, please specify in the form, there's a section for this.

I can't say "no real people" because, well... *gestures to the little girl*. But it will be case by case

Historical character are okay as long as they were dead before 1900

No Harry Potter.

They don't have to be related in any way to the Little Swedish Girl to enter

You totaly can resubmit characters who already were put in the previous bracket if they are relevant here

Contestants will be selected by  number of submissions but depending on how many I get, if you're very funny in the form I might be biased

Ya know, I watched the first few episodes of Merlin, and all I can think of is the BTS I saw, where the actor for Merlin got scolded for sitting in the sun because "Merlin doesn't have a tan!" and I about die laughing, every time I remember it.

ToA Lore Headcanons: Wizards

Wizards was compressed, giving us the bare minimum of wizard lore within the universe of ToA. And that leaves room for headcanons.

Here’s mine: A “Wizard Hierarchy” of sorts

Wizards can be broken down into 3 types: Common Wizards, Apprentice Wizards, and Master Wizards

Common Wizards are beings that can wield magic to varying degree, typically wield wands and spell books , and don’t have intention on becoming Master Wizards. They study alone or with other Common Wizards mastering spells as they see fit and creating some of their own. This group can be split further into many branching sub categories.

Apprentice Wizards are master wizards-in-training that typically wear charm bracelets as a type of measure for their progress toward mastery. They study under a Mastery Wizard, following their teachers guide and often times learning many of their spells before learning some of their own.

Master Wizards are the top wizards with the best sense and control over magic, wielding staffs as a show of mastery. They typically create spells, write them down, then share them throughout the wizard world.

Now for a bit of history:

Wizards usually start as individuals with a strong “mystic sense / touch” for magic

For humans, it’s beginning to be rare to find individuals with the sense as humans have slowly began to lose their magical touch. Trolls, it’s typically locked to specific tribes. For other creatures and beings it’s hit or miss

While some of the first wizards honed their skills without use of magical artifacts, it was eventually discovered that certain materials and gemstones either housed or conducted magic extremely well. This led to the creation of both staffs and bracelets

The material that bracelets are made out of had the ability to store magical impressions which held spells and magically bound objects in stasis. The runes were used as a means of organization and duplication so that when the spell was released from the material, it wouldn’t be a one and done deal.

Each bracelet was also forged with a spell that would allow it to extend, increasing its storage capacity.

Bracelets slowly became obsolete as Spells began to be written down and wizards carried books and wands

This eventually created a right-of-passage for wizards that became apprentices seeking to become master wizards. The bracelet would cap off at 1000 spells (which would stop a bit before the Wizard’s elbow.) which is what was deemed initially worthy of becoming a master wizard (more methods of mastery came later down the line)

Sidenote:

Douxie’s specific bracelet was given to and modified by Merlin so that Douxie was incapable of store Shadowmancy spells within it (as during Douxie’s early apprenticeship, Morgana was also still Merlin’s apprentice, soon to be Psedou-Master once the Skathe-Hrün is created. Merlin didn’t want Morgana “tainting” Douxie)

Sidenote of a sidenote:

Merlin has both read about and known shadowmancers that paid grievous prices for following the path of shadow magic and didn’t want Douxie to fall that way too

Back on topic

Staffs, particularly those created by human wizards, are typically created by a Master Wizard as their magical understanding and control is great enough for it. Some, however, do need aid (as seen with Merlin and Douxie creating Douxie’s staff alongside the amulet of Daylight) This is due to the special metals, materials and gemstones used during the process. An untrained wizards sense of gemstone to material connection as putting incapatable parts together will cause the staff to combust or not work.

The arcane order’s staffs came from their titans before their deactivation. They’re also used to control them (think that little Camelot ship Merlin, Douxie, and Krel piloted)

Most troll wizards staffs come from their birthstone fused with a heartstone. Troll leaders that have a purely heartstone staff can use that to perform a few spells.

The staffs can be treated as a sign of mastery, and an upgrade to the bracelet as the storage is infinite.

It would also be at this point that a master wizard would recieve a set of specialized armor. Fully enchantable, comes with its own special weapon, and can be stored within the Wizard’s staff at anytime. The armor also bears a piece of the staff’s gemstone (typically within the breastplate) which is the linking factor.

Morgana bypassed the “only a Master Wizard can make a staff” rule by creating hers without a gemstone. This, however, meant her armor and staff were not linked

The armor bestowal is typically a human wizard thing, but other wizards such as troll wizards sometimes do it as well.

Another note:

There are occasions where non-wizards are able to cast magic spells. This is usually because either

A) The spell in question was either intended to be used by a non-wizard

B) The spell doesn’t require magic

C) The user is has a magic sense / touch that hasn’t been tapped into

Another note:

A Wizards’ wand, charm bracelet, and a Master Wizard’s staff cannot be used by a common person and, depending on how it was set up, other wizards.

Morgana’s staff is a special exception as it isn’t a traditional true staff. The material used to create the shadow staff is one not too far off from the one used to create charm bracelets. This means it can store in magic power (in this case, Morgana’s magic) which allowed for someone like Angor to wield it because Morgana at some point imbued her staff with power before giving it to him.

This is also why Morgana was able to possess Claire as her staff was laced in her magic and the more Claire used it the easier it was (What Morgana was talking about in the bathroom scene in “So I’m Daring a Sorceress”)

Merlin gives arther a single rose from the castle garden every Valentine’s Day sometimes in person sometimes he just hides it where he knows arther will find it but he always makes sure his prat gets his special rose from his special sorcerer

That rose is one of the few things on valentines Arther actually looks forward to
