I’m on the search for fics but until then will you settle for hcs?
Merlin calls arther his prat
Both of them have a sense for when the others about to do something stupid
Merlin gives arther a single rose from the castle garden every Valentine’s Day sometimes in person sometimes he just hides it where he knows arther will find it but he always makes sure his prat gets his special rose from his special sorcerer
That rose is one of the few things on valentines Arther actually looks forward to
These are all so cute Omg, I just might die! The only people I love more than Merlin and Arthur, are Gwendolyn and Gawaine 🥺
the thing that gets me when watching random merlin bts videos is just how much work went into producing this silly show... I'll make fun of the little blue sidhe and then they'll interview someone from the costume department going "yes the makeup took us 8 hours to put together :)" or one of the CGI guys will talk about how they spent months trying to figure out how to animate kilgharrah and I'll feel bad for ever laughing at the bad special effects. the beautiful sets, the gorgeous handsewn gowns, the music. so much love was poured into this project it makes me a bit emotional if I think about it too much
Do you guys ever think about how Merlin was only born because Arthur was born?
Two babes born who never should have existed, pulled from the very fabric of the world, magic.
One born from a ritual fraught with consequences, a mother dead, a terrible retribution sought.
One born after a man was forced to flee, the last of his kind, taken in by a woman across the border.
And while it is possible Balinor could have made it to Hunith regardless, it seems it was only the terrible circumstances that led to him going to Ealdor at all.
Arthur and Merlin, two sides of the same coin, soulmates right down to their mere existence at all.
the reason that arthur looked at dragoon and went "your eyes, we've met somewhere before" is because of the sheer amount of eyefucking the two of them do. man spends half his time staring into merlin's eyes he better have recognized them
in my head after the events of camlann merlin returns to camelot and, still riddled with terrible guilt and grief, confesses to leon about everything that had happened and everything he had done, magic and all. and instead of outrage or betrayal or scorn or judgement (or even death, as he had briefly considered) leon shatters him with a deeply apologetic expression and a whispered “my friend… you must have been so afraid, and so tired.” and merlin collapses into heaving sobs against him and doesn’t get back up for a long time.
