Strange.

The screen says they're correct. And yet, things don't line up. They don't feel like they do. They were willing to ignore the confused looks the rabbits gave each other, but now with Reimi's reaction...

Hanji was fully willing to sacrifice a pawn-- a gambit to gain advantage, or any compensation at all, sound or unsound. But was it the one behind this who initiated this gambit instead? Did they, as a collective, accidentally accepted their pawn so they could gain an advantage against them, the captives?

You don't just forget memories like that, much less remember the wrong thing. There had to be a reason why Reimi was acting like this...

Trying to rewind their memory back to the trial discussion, they think... To themself, of course. There was no longer any point in continuing the case discussion.

"I'unno. What if she's tellin' th'truth, rather than there bein' a memorylapse. Or maybe th' doc is right, fuck if I know." They shrug. "Not like it matters 'nymore anyway. The game says we're right."

They doubt anyone else would wanna keep talking about the mystery now that it's gotten its closure, and Reimi was now scheduled for execution thanks to them. It was simply too late now. What mattered at the moment to Hanji was that their life was now secured; even if something felt off, they still got it the answer right, and that meant Hanji got to live another day.

After scratching their neck, they click their tongue and make way towards Reimi, slipping off their plaid shirt all the while to end up wrapping it around her like a blanket.

"I can't join ya, but maybe this'll suffice. Holdin' on'ta sum'un's belongings gotta simulate company somehow, right."

Maybe it was insulting rather than comforting to be kind right after voting someone to their death,

but Hanji never cared about stuff like that anyway.
