GHOST SPIDER GHOST SPIDER GHOST SPIDER
The noccoro angst with this reversal is beautiful! GIVE ME PISSED OFF NETEYAM WHO RESENTS JAKE FOR ABANDONING SPIDER
Give me neteyam who is racked with massive amounts of guilt and torment over not rescuing Spider and having to live with the fact that he's dead and only neteyam knows and can only see him....
I think the only person who would believe him would be Kiri, considering how in tune she is with eywa and her surroundings.
Give me Neteyam trying to help put Spider's spirit to rest, but Spider is so far gone that it's impossible to even try, because Spider's spirit is just so broken from everyone turning their backs on him and abandoning him to the sky people and him feeling like he's not good enough to pass on into Eywa's embrace.
"You left me to die!" Spider screamed.
"I-I never wanted to leave you behind! None of us wanted too leave you behind!" Neteyam cries out as tears roll down his cheek.
"LIAR!" Spider screams as the marui shakes violently from Spider's furious rage.
GOD YES THANK U FOR SCREAMING WITH ME ABOUT THIS. HOW DARE YOU WRITE THAT.
(If you guys don't know what we are talking about, it's the ghost of Guilt by @undercoverpan which is like a Spider ghost version of our Neteyam ghost au and we are all literally insane for not thinking of that first).
I know we've all been on our Neteyam hiding his relationship with Spider shit, but I feel like this is the perfect opportunity for him to just say fuck it and just start saying everything and going off on everyone. I KNOW Kiri would believe him, and I think Lo'ak would too, he looks up to Neteyam too much not too. The tragedy that even if he can get through to Spider ghost and they can reconcile and he can prove to Spider that he loves him and that the kids all care and never wanted to leave him, it ultimately doesn't matter. Spider is still dead and Neteyam is still just seeing a ghost.
(If any of you are into The Black Phone and also are into very sad and tragic ghost love stories, feel free to check out Holding On and Letting Go by Nizhoni93, which this fic reminded me of in the hopelessness it made me feel in the ghost of a loved one being right in front of you, but not really there at all. It's so incredibly well written. Little tw for implied rape/non con, but if you know The Black Phone you know).
Fun edit to my draft of this: got distracted rereading that fic, please have a long list of quotes from it that really haunt me and that I feel really fit our ghost love au:
"He curls in on himself, crying quietly. I lay beside him on my side, head lying on my arm, watching him. A heavy blanket of grief covers us both. There’s a block of moonlight coming through the window. It splits us down the middle, me in shadow and Fin bathed in the silvery blue streak peaking through the jarred curtain. It’s almost ironic. That we’re laying on opposing sides now, like it was always inevitable. This frail seam divides us more than I feel. Light and dark. Life and death. Maybe we were just never meant to be in each other’s worlds."
"When he falls asleep again, I want to reach across that fragile line of midnight, that mystical brink between us, and urge the sweaty strands off hair out of his face. I imagine imprinting myself under Fin’s skin, leaving new and warm dreams of us to replace the cold bruising ones the Grabber left behind.
There’s an anchor in my chest that stops me. I’m never gonna’ touch Finney Blake again. Am I?
All we have is whatever this is.
And whatever this is, it’s harder than anyone can ever imagine."
"Sort of struts down the hall sometimes — which admittedly, is kind of cute. Now that I'm dead, I can own that. Finney Blake is cute. It's not like I have anything more to lose in saying so."
"Instead I could have stuck around and spent a lifetime making sure I was protecting Finney Blake from myself and from anyone who could dare to get in his way. Now I'm the reason he's getting in his own way.
He spends hours in day, refusing to forget me. He's sad when he wakes up and he's sad when he goes to bed. When he's not sad, he's angry."
"I like you Finney Blake...only you'll never know it. You'll think I liked older girls with angry philosophies. But I like you, for your sweetness and how clever you are. I like you for being funny and gentle and brave and impossible to give up."
"'I can’t shake him.' Finney mumbles, his words sounding exhausted and hazey, 'He’s still everywhere. He won’t go away.’
'I know kid. He’s still got me too.'
Fin hitches on another cry.
'Robin…'
My heart perks. I need him to never quit saying my name. Even when he’s sad, I want it to be his. Only his.
'…I know you said I could do this, but I can’t. Why’d you have to go?'
I shake my head at him, 'I haven’t left Fin. I'm with you till the world stops spinning if you want me. I ain’t going anywhere.'"
"He squeezes Donna's hand, but I feel the pressure constricting my heart instead. There's no more blood left in me to spare, but if there were it'd be at Fin's discretion to start pumping the life back into my veins where it belongs."
"That hasn't changed Fin. I'll always be around to have yours, I want you to have me right back. I wish I could be the one to help you break down the walls you've built since I died, instead of being the reason those bricks were laid. Donna Thompson is around to help you miss me, but what if I don't want to be missed? I just want to be in your face and hold your face and kiss your face and make you never forget me."
"'I have faith, just not in who you'd expect.'
'Then who?'
He looks up, steadfast, 'The only person that matters,' he answers. 'Robin.'
I smile at him with a misty gaze. You're the only thing I still believe in too Finney Blake. Fuck it, we can worship each other and every inch of the world around us that isn't covered by shadow. I never want to be in the dark again. I don't have to be when I'm around you. We can make our own light and we never have to crossover. We can just stay together, you knowing me and me knowing you...and that's all that has to make any sense.
I'll stick with you Finney Blake. Pray to me. I'll be your best religion."
"I reach up and thumb Finney's face where his jaw his tensing. I'm braver being invisible. Writing my fingertips over his skin. There's no electricity between us. No magic spark under my fingertips. If I give into the temptation and add even a little more pressure, he'll slip through my fingers. I can't tell if he's cold or warm. I can't feel the smooth hollow of his cheek, or have him lean into my touch.
But I can look into those black eyes and know exactly where I belong. There's a little window of light slipping onto the crest of his irises now, unveiling flecks of gold. They look like stars. If Fin is lost, I'll stay lost with him. I'll float my soul forever in the deepest, darkest shade of his universe.
'I couldn't live without you Fin. Dang dude, I had to go and die just so I could follow you forever.'"
"'This isn't normal grieving Robin. Everyone keeps telling me it'll get easier but every minute you're not around, I'm losing my mind! I'm seeing flickers of you in the corner of my eye. I'm hearing echoes of things that aren't there. It's your stupid sarcasm and your sass and your obnoxious fucking laugh—'
'Hey...hey watch it—'
'I miss your laugh,' Finney chuckles sadly, 'you never cared that people looked at you weird for it.'
'Maybe cause I only had eyes for you dork.'
'And then I think I feel things too. Just now, I swear...' He shakes his head at himself, tracing his cheek softly. I watch his brain working, my heart thudding with desperation. You swear what? What Finney!?
'There's no way.'
There is a way Fin. There has to be! We just have to find it."
"Can dead hearts break? If so, I hope this time I'm done for good."
"I try to shake him awake, but my hands go through him. I hover my palms over him, quivering uncontrollably. I yell out to him, 'Fin! Wake up! Wake up! C'mon man!'"
"Sometimes I catch glimmers of hope in his eyes. Hope for me. For us. Those star flecks burst like supernovas only I can see. But I worry; will Fin accept any future without me in it, especially knowing now that I’m back on the table? I don’t want to get his hopes up. Seeing as how, fate’s got an annoying track record for overlooking the sheer epicness of us. What if once all our light explodes; we're just left staring into the dark mouth of a black hole?
I'm not sure I'm good for Fin anymore. Or is it the other way around? This boy is a torture to me. I'm alive when I'm around Fin. He makes me alive. My heart stopped beating a long time ago. My heart is decaying five feet deep in the earth. But Finney wakes my soul. We're so extended; it feels like he's beating one heart for the both of us.
I know I’ll have to let him go one day. I know I’ll have to make him let me go.
Till then, we can keep being hopeless idiots.
I still really wish I could give Fin what he wants though. Get him to see me for as little or as long as we have left."
"'Are you here Robin?' He barely whispers. Anyone else would've missed it. But by now I'm an expert in all sounds Finney Blake, and I can make language out of even his tiniest, most indistinguishable peeps. 'Or did I chase you away?'
I smile softly at him.
'Nothing you say is making me go away Fin.'"
"We can pretend we're in our own little world here. You don't know this, but I'm laying against the door hovering my legs in your lap because the leg room back here really does suck but also because it's an excuse to get closer to you. I'm not complaining.
Finney...I've missed half the movie because I'm watching you instead and I never want to quit being the only one who gets to see you from this angle. The way your smile shines from your soul and the casual grace of your dimples as you reach across the console and keep stealing Gwen's fries. You have mischievous grin and a fry dangling from your lips and I'm realizing you're my latest and greatest revelation.
Jesus. I think I might love you Finney Blake. I think I might maybe...actually...definitely love you."
"I'm losing my marbles trying to hold onto this illusion I've built around Fin and me. Maybe I died too young for this. I'm too small for a feeling so big, but I can't help it. I know how I feel and I feel like I can't live without him. I guess I don't have to though, do I? I've fooled myself into believing that being dead meant nothing had to change. I could sit on the sidelines like I used to for Finney's games, only this time I'd be watching him live for the both of us. It's sad to realize that everything about me since I've died and everything that’s happened since, is really, pathetically, entirely about him. I can't live my own future so I have to steal his."
"I touch him. Not really though.
Fin blinks into a soft, nonplussed expression. My heart leaps in my chest.
He looks at the space beside him, at me?
Not really though.
His eyes scan the empty seat where I should be sitting and a part of me believes he feels something. That he's searching down a path that I've dragged him down again. I feel guilty for taking him away from this moment of reprieve. Why is it so hard not to be selfish with him?"
"I touch him everywhere where he can see me in the window. I run my fingers over his forearm and love the way his veins pucker when he tenses his arm. I crawl my fingers up the sides of his neck to see if it tickles him and I get sad when it doesn't."
"'Why'd you do that? Why'd you go away?'
'What?' I ask wincing, taken aback by that. 'It's not like I meant to Kid.'
'I don't understand what's happening here!' Finny says, spinning on his heals and pacing in the other direction now. He gestures vaguely and frustratingly at thin air.
'I can't go through this again! It's just like what happened before, except now I'm losing you in pieces rather than all at once and...and...do you even know how hard that is? You were there and now you're not and why? Why are you doing this to me?'
My eyes burn with angry and uncomfortable tears. He's getting under my skin, or maybe he always was and I'm just being reminded of that.
'Hey stop it will you! You think this is easy for me either? You think I wouldn't POOF! myself into your fucking lap again if I could?'
'I'm waiting here ghost boy!' Finney shouts at me, or I guess in the general direction of where he thinks I'm standing. He's about three feet off."
"'Robin,' He utters again, 'if you heard any of that, I didn't mean it, okay? This is all so hard. All I want is for this to be real. I want to keep you so badly.'
I step closer to him, suffocating the space between us. Leaving absolutely no room for Jesus.
'Don't I know it,' I whisper back.
I like the way his bangs get tangled, and I lean in and nuzzle my temple against them. It might be coincidence, the way he closes his eyes for me. We're breathing together. It makes sense to take and give life together. I dust my nose against his cheek and then move my lips over his lips. He pacifies against me. He’s more delicate up close. I'm stroking all his sweet, soft curves and fuzzy outlines.
'This is progress though, right?' I tease him, whispering against his mouth. My voice is raspy, losing itself to the lump in my throat. I swallow it down and close my eyes too.
'Tell me you can feel this Fin.'
'Robin...' I hear Finney whisper, softer and more fragile this time, 'Is that you?'"
"'Dare me to spend the night with a ghost, Robin?'
I grin at him, my mind and heart on fire. I quirk a challenging brow at him, 'What else is new, right?'"
"'Jesus Christ,' she scorns, touching a hand to her head and clutching her hair stressfully. 'You've really gone and fallen in love with a ghost haven't you?'
I stiffen. Fin chokes on his spit. He flushes so red, he looks like a dorky beetroot. We both start rambling like idiots.
'What? Robin and I aren't...no, it's not like that—!'
Without thinking, I look sideways at him. My heart snapping in my chest as I do. 'It's not?'
Lelaine bears down on me suspiciously.
Oops. Did I just say that out loud?
I backtrack, matching Fin's panic and blurting out my own pathetic explanation, 'I mean of course it's not!'
She's not buying it, cocking her chin in my direction and telling Fin, 'He doesn't seem to know that.'
I drop my face in my hands, groaning, '¡Querido Dios! You did not just tell him that.'"
"I sigh as I spider crawl my fingers toward his hand laying on the table. I tease my index finger over his. He doesn't move. Doesn't even flinch. I look at his hand, and at him and feel unbearably empty.
'He doesn't feel it.' I whisper. 'How can this be real if he doesn't even feel it?' I sit up and look at Lelaine through misty eyes. 'Can you help us or not?'
She frowns between us, looking sceptical. 'What do you expect me to do?' She asks.
'I want to be like you.' Finney eagerly explains, 'To be able to able to see and hear ghosts and control whatever the hell is happening to me. I want Robin back. Please.'"
"'I'm not getting rid of Robin.' Finney tells her, thankfully on the same page. Not that I ever thought he wouldn't be. The sting feels a little more bearable. 'There's got to be another way.'
She looks at both of us, scowling.
'Can you honestly say you are happy living like this? Because you certainly don't look happy Finney. The harder a medium latches onto a spirit, the thinner their tether to the real world gets stretched. It's a delicate line. You need to find a way to cut that tether loose, before you end up on the wrong side of it.'
She looks at me insolently, but is speaking to Fin as she says, 'Cut him loose before it's too late.'"
"She can't force Fin to get rid of me. That's not how it's supposed to go. We're supposed to be together!
'I'm not going anywhere. You can't make me!'
'You aren't doing him any favours by sticking around here,' Lelaine shoots back. 'He can never move on if you're always around to remind him why he shouldn't.'
There's a shard pushing into my brain now. Breaking the nerve endings holding my composure at bay. Tears mist my eyes and I choke out weak and pathetic words, 'I'm not trying to hurt him. I...I love him.'
That has to be enough. That mean something! It makes this okay. Us okay. Right?
'You are hurting him Robin, even if you can't see it that way.'
'STOP IT!' Finney screams at her, drawing our attention. He gets up and slams his palms on the table fiercely. 'Stop talking to him like that! You have no clue what you're even talking about. Robin is helping me, not hurting me. I need him!'
'Trust me honey, a ghost is the last thing you'll ever need in your life.'
'But it's my life to live, isn't it? I make my own choices. Just like you. Just like my mom did! And I choose Robin, understand? So you can just leave us alone.'"

Melissa hated her feelings.
She buried them in a chest in the 5th grade (along with her ability to express them). Other peoples' feelings on the other hand was her forte. She could process, decipher and regurgitate other peoples emotions effortlessly. This gift could’ve taken her through college, all the way to a degree in psychology. Distinguished Dr. Jefferson with a PhD and a cozy office and impressive roster of high-profile, weallthy clients was a shiny idea. Fate would have a different hand for Melissa her talents were exhausted on mediating family fights, friend group drama, and charming her way out of confronting her own feelings.
“Feelings.” Even saying it out loud to herself seemed silly. Something reserved for ‘cry babies’ and water signs. Typical Sunday nights started tame, reading or writing fan-fiction and drinking cranapple juice. And then like clock work her father would yell her name,
‘MELISSA!!!’ Emotionless, she’d get up dust off her Winnie the Pooh shorts and make her way downstairs. On the long walk down the hall to the stairs leading to the living room brawl, she’d go through her check list:
1.) Don’t cry.
 2.) Stay neutral; Deescalate
3.)Don’t take anything personal. This isn’t about you
She padded down the carpeted stairs in her old soft socks to see her mother tightlipped and tear streaked thinking,
‘she broke rule number 1’. Her father, Michael was proud and angry, his big belly filled with self righteousness. She knew he would be unyielding in his resolve and at this point her only option was to deescalate.
‘Rule number 2’. Then her sister the water sign and calamity for the evening sat on the floor nearly fetal, face red and raw with emotion.
‘Its not your fault’ Melissa wanted to say ‘You just didn’t follow the rules… you’re loved.’ But she couldn’t say that because she’d be breaking rule number 3. It wasn’t about how Melissa felt. Even though she felt like screaming,
“VANESSA, YOU DIDN’T DO ANYTHING WRONG. DAD—YOU JUST HAVE PENT UP ANGER BECAUSE YOU GREW UP IN THE HOOD OF DETROIT AS A BLACK MAN IN THE 60s AND 70s. YOU NEED A HEALTHY OUTLET LIKE.. I DONT KNOW… THERAPY?!?!?! THIS IS A WASTE OF ALL OF OUR TIME. I LITERALLY JUST WROTE THE BEST SAILOR SATURN x CHIBI USA FANFICTION EVER AND THIS IS KILLING MY VIBE!”
Instead, she decide to hear every one out. She decided to help. To calm her dragon of a father down. To be a translator for her emotional sister. To not take it personal. To stay neutral. To not cry.
9 years later, at her fathers funeral she still never broke the rules. She played her flute and spoke at his memorial. She was present for her mother because it wasn’t about her. When other peoples' emotions bubbled up she stayed neutral. She sat through both services and she did not cry. It wasn’t until she excused herself to make a phone call outside did she collapse onto the stairs of the funeral home and weep alone in the cold Detroit snow.
It’s okay to break the rules sometimes, she reminded herself. As long as no one else sees it.
Traumas began to compact on Melissa, as they do. Humans tend to collect traumas like pebbles on a long hike. We toss them into our backpacks and keep moving forward. Some hikers would falter, but Melissa was built for this. She’d carried the stones of her family’s traumas uphill for years. She was strong.
When men began to befriend and reject her, saying ‘you’re too good for me’ but not too good to make them feel good. She carried that.
When childhood friends began to cut off the strings of her heart, saying ‘We can’t be friends anymore’. She carried that.
When her family separated like dandelion seeds, it seemed like they’d never be together again. Melissa slept on so many couches, floors and car seats sometimes she didn’t know if she’d see them again.
She carried that.
Dying was never an option though sometimes she didn’t mind the thought of it. Peace and warmth were two things she’d desperately yearned and hadn’t felt fully since the womb. Then one night in the pitch black of the hot, sweaty, roach-infested studio in southeast Houston she slept in she wondered:
‘Why can’t I break the rules?’ She’d seen everyone else in her life break them like popsicle sticks. And she didn’t just want to break the rules, she wanted to break them boldly and loudly and annoyingly and honestly and sloppily like every one else gets to do. It was in that moment, tucked in a thin jacket inside of an 8-foot high instrument cubby in the inky darkness—it hit her.
‘Is my suffering for a high purpose? Or is my suffering trying to kill me?’
She cried.
She escalated.
She took it personal.
But it wasn’t enough. She wanted to scream in a microphone in a sea of shadowy faces. She drank whiskey and wove her pain into rock music.
‘Music is my boyfriend’ she declared. The only man that kept his baggage to hisself. And it healed her. It gave her voice reason and purpose.
The pebble-laden hike became lighter with time. The incline eventually evened out to flat, beautiful landscapes where the breeze finally met her back. She knew it wasn’t gonna be easy or sunshine but even the rain cleansed her and it was beautiful too.
Somewhere in the rain she decided rules were meant to be built and broken. Like trust and love and friendships and families. Because every thing deserves the opportunity to change and grow.
So... She broke rule number 1 on stage while singing a beautiful song. Dr. Jefferson (PhD) screamed for her to stop but she didn’t listen and the tears flowed like rivers of emotion down her cheeks.
Rule number 2 was broken when she grew older and saw the injustices of the world. Marching with hundreds in protest she realized not everything needs to be pacified.
And one day when she finally fell in love, she broke rule number 3. No matter how much training she’d done she couldn't help but take every thing her lover said and did personal. But it was ok. Because in all her resistance she realized breaking rules was her power.
Melissa began to fall for her feelings. Her feelings gave life purpose. They weren’t always logical, as feelings seldom are. They were sloppy and embarrassing and rude and so fucking uncomfortable. But they were hers. And they were real. And when she sat alone sipping wine, staring at the moon…They were the only ones still by her side. Ready to break the rules for her because they loved her.
And she finally loved them back.

Lamont released a heavy cloud of smoke in the air. You bobbed your head to the new beat he made. Lamont matched your bobbing head, a slow grin working its way across his face. You rolled your eyes and turned away from him, trying to feel the beat without him coloring your opinion.
Just because he was your best friend didn’t mean that you couldn’t lay down the truth when needed. The good Lord knew that he didn’t need an even bigger head.
As the beat faded and came to a close, Lamont clapped his hands in the too silent studio. It was a rare night where he didn’t have Melissa, couldn’t sleep, and his boys weren’t in the background smoking up all the weed.
“Go on and tell me that’s hot!” He yelled and clapped his hands again. He played with a few switches on the switchboard and then swung his chair to face you. You swung idly on your own chair, back and forth.
You gave him a funny look, not willing to admit that it was good. Of course it was good. Dude really knew his fucking craft.
“It’s aight,” you said and dismissed him with a wave.
“Bullshit!” Lamont yelled. The joint hung from his lips as his long, delicate fingers flew over switches and knobs and he ran the track back. The deep bass thumped through the speakers once more and he turned to you, brows furrowing to gauge your reaction.
“Damn, I’m playing!” You said and giggled. You pushed away from his too intense stare. He sucked his teeth and pushed you back.
“Tell me what you really think, damn,” he said.
“Nah, that shit is fire, Lamont. Seriously, you tore this up,” you said.
“Thanks, thanks. Just need some dope lyrics on it. Tired of them mumble rapper m’fucka’s,” Lamont said.
He shook his head, his locs tussling over his face and dropping into his eyes. Your hand itched to push it away so you could continue looking at him. You swung your chair away from him so that your face didn’t give you away. It was the weed talking, nothing more.
You played with the sleeves of your sweater, swinging around and around in circles until his studio became a dizzy array of green and red. Like Christmas. That was a much safer line of thinking. You could think about lights, gingerbread houses, and pinecones and not about how Lamont’s lips poked out, ready to be kissed.
Lamont turned down the beat and deposited the joint in the nearby ashtray. The smell was loud, filling your senses with its aroma. You smacked his shoulder as you passed him and then smacked it again until he relented and handed it to you.
You took a lungful, holding it in and rolling it around your tongue before releasing it back out into the studio. You watched the smoke lift towards the popcorn ceiling, wishing it would take your thoughts with it. You smoked so that your brain could pause like a TV show. So that you could stop to take in the details around you and make sense of it.
Your stomach turned and roiled so you stuck your foot out to slow your spins. Lamont was on his phone scrolling through Instagram.
“You always on that damn phone,” you said, grinning as you realized that you sounded like your mama.
“Okay, Ms. Etta,” he said.
“Shut up! That is not my mama name!”
Lamont peeked at you from the curtain of his locs and smirked, holding out his hand for the joint. You took one last inhale, the burning embers at the end filling your peripheral vision before you handed it back to him. He dumped the ashes and then took a puff, putting it down on the ashtray.
Lamont returned his attention back to his phone, head slightly bouncing to the beat he made. Your eyes slowly tracked over all of the mini orange, red, and green lights blinking from the switchboard.
This was the kind of laid back music that would be in a lounge somewhere. Your mind’s eye filled in details of blue ambient lighting. Black men and women and those in between dressed in their finest business casual. Men in deep, monochromatic suits and shiny shoes. Women in dresses a hair shy of too short, showing off long, thick legs and strappy high heels.
You pictured glasses clinking, words whispered amongst friends, and glances thrown across the room. Ballers sending trays of drinks to the group of women at the bar knowing exactly what they were doing by leaning over it.
It was a type of sexy beat that you felt in your inner thighs first. The thrumming bass making your thighs jiggle. Warming heat working its way up your spine until you couldn’t help but nod your head, bump your shoulders, and look at your friend to see if they were feeling the beat like you were.
You turned to Lamont, ready to tell him, when his nose was buried in his phone again. You groaned and reached out to slap your hand over the phone.
“You said you wanted no distractions tonight, remember?” You asked.
“I’m done with the beat though,” he said. He moved his phone out of your way and you leaned over a little further to try and snatch it from his fingers. His arms were longer than yours and he easily held it away from you.
“You said not to let you get distracted. Hand it here,” you said. You snapped your fingers. Lamont shook his head, his locs whipping across his face. His gold chain glinted in the low lighting and it was stark against his white T-shirt, dyed green in the studio lighting.
“You ain’t gon’ snap yo fingers like you somebody,” he said.
“I AM! SOME-BODY!” You cackled at your own joke, eyes wide and smiling so big that your cheeks ached.
“Goofy ass. You need to stay off this shit,” he said.
“Boo, you’re no fun,” you said. You continued to reach across the short space between you, trying to reach his phone. You were high, but not that high. Your thoughts were coherent and slow. Like you could pluck each of them out and lay them on a blanket. That you could take your time and choose between them like choosing your outfit.
“C’mon, watch out,” he said. He nudged you back but you were undeterred. Your tongue stuck out of your mouth, so deep in your concentration. Lamont chuckled, effortlessly fighting you off.
You huffed and you huffed but you could not blow this wolf down. You sat back in the seat and sighed. “For real, Lamont. I did not come over here, at midnight, just for you to play on your phone. I wanna see some magic,” you said.
“Girl, I just showed yo ass the Magic Kingdom,” he said.
You laughed at his corny ass line and shook your head. “One beat is all you got?” You asked.
“All I got?” Lamont scoffed, affronted that you would even suggest such a thing.
You inwardly grinned, using your knowledge of him to your advantage. He always rose to the occasion. He was almost too easy as he sat forward in his seat. His left hand dropped the phone in between you while he focused on the board once more.
Where you only saw switches and gears, he saw instruments. This board was a modern orchestra and he knew exactly which sounds to pull from it. Which drums sounded dirty enough to warrant adding snares and strings.
You snatched his phone from beside him. He instantly balked, trying to get it back from you. You didn’t have the length he did, so you had to resort to putting it behind your back and trying to slide your chair away from him.
He put one hand on your chair to stop your retreat and then the other went in search of his missing phone.
“C’mon, stop playing!” He laughed as he struggled to get the phone from you.
You only had so many places to stick it. You kept moving it like you were playing hot potato with it, tossing it from one hand to the other. “You come on! I know why you call me here. So I can keep yo ass focused!”
“I focus just fine without you. Ever think I just want your company?” He asked.
“Duh, you always want my company,” you teased, still moving the phone every two seconds while he lunged for it. A giddy feeling swelled in your chest like a balloon, filling up all of your hollow crevices and giving you the feeling of floating despite feeling heavy.
“Always? You loud and wrong,” he said. He sat back with a huff, eying you. You grinned, looking for any type of eye twitch or flicker. Anything to indicate that he would make a sudden move and try to snatch it from you.
“Oh? I guess I should just leave then,” you said. You leaned out of the chair, butt hovering over the seat that was practically molded to your ass by now. You felt a few twinges. The side effect of sitting too long. All this cushion in your ass didn’t mean shit.
“Man, sit yo ass down and hand me my phone. Please?” Lamont asked. But the please was not sincere. You stuck out your tongue while you placed the phone down your shirt.
The warm metal laid across your skin and you grinned at Lamont’s expression. His face kind of froze. Or paused while he stared at your chest. It was nothing new for the two of you, so you couldn’t name why it made your belly flip.
“You think that’s gon’ stop me?” He asked. Was it you or did his voice get a little deeper? A little rougher?
You adjusted the phone against your cleavage and threw up your hands. “What you gon’ do?” You asked.
Lamont licked his lips, a small smile forming on his lips. “You know I can just turn you upside down and shake you like a toy?”
Nope. That did not make your pussy flutter. You did not imagine shaking for entirely different reasons.
There was always this thickness between you and Lamont. A sort of sticky, gooey middle that kept you glued to his side all these years. You had been friends for so long, you didn’t remember the exact number. Where one went, there went the other. There was always a lingering look, a hand on the hip placed too long, a bite to the lip.
You never crossed the line. The timing was never right. Either you were with somebody or he was. He was nursing your broken heart while you were getting him turnt up for his. He had an entire baby with Mia who had him wrapped around her tiny manicured pinky. Despite his protests otherwise.
Now. Now you were both single. Unattached. No messy drama getting in the way.
“Whatever, Lamont. I am here to keep you on track,” you said. You shook your head and smacked your lips. “Literally and figuratively.”
“Gimme my phone,” he said, that same rough voice dancing along the sticky gooeyness that made your toes curl. He didn’t need to see the way you looked down trying to get yourself under control.
“What you gon’ do?” You asked, rolling your neck for emphasis.
He smiled and shook his head. He waved his fingers in a ‘come on’ gesture and you smacked his hand.
“What you gon’ do? What you gon’ do?” You kept asking, waiting for him to reply. To say something. Anything. You were tossing out the question like a fishing line, baiting him with delicious chum. With the irresistible urge to either latch on and let you know that it wasn’t just you or toss it aside and let it drop once and for all.
“Say it one more time and I’ll show you what I’m gon’ do,” he said.
“What you gon’ do?” You said slowly, enunciating each word so there were no misunderstandings.
Lamont’s hand shot out and pulled your fuzzy sweater away from your chest. His other hand snuck up your shirt and went fishing around for his phone. But his hands roamed too broadly, lightly squeezing your titty every so often.
“Lamont!” You yelled.
He licked his lips and got closer. His breath fanned across your face, a subtle mix of candy and weed. His hand continued to roam while he slowly closed the distance between your lips. He looked at you the entire time, giving you ample opportunity to back away.
But you wanted this. You casted that fishing line out into the ether, so you closed the distance for him. You pressed your lips against his finally. Your dreams didn’t come close. It was nothing like what you thought it would be and everything you dreamt it could.
His lips were soft against yours. Smooth tongue running over your lips and sloppily slanting against yours. You hummed, low and softly but you were sure he heard it. His hands continued to roam under your shirt, no longer seeking his phone.
Instead, his hands found your breasts and began to knead them, fingers grappling for your nipple. As soon as his fingers found that little pebble – no bra because you hadn’t felt like throwing on one just to chill with Lamont – he squeezed and rolled it between his fingers.
“Oh shit,” you said against his lips, finally pulling back far enough to get some air. Some room.
“Mhm,” he moaned. “You think I ain’t been paying attention these past few years?” He asked.
“Wh-what you mean?” You asked. He rolled his lips around yours, kissing you but only just so. His wide nose danced against yours. One thing about high sex that you loved was how sensitive you became. How the little hairs on your skin picked up the different changes in temperature or tingled with every brush of skin.
“All them nasty ass stories you liked to tell. About how men never hit it how you like,” he said.
He switched his hand to your other titty, seeking your nipple a lot faster. He rolled it in between your fingers and your breath stuttered.
Already, he was leagues better than half the guys you’d been with. Or perhaps it was your lingering, previously unclaimed chemistry, doing most of the work for you. This was inevitable. Your lips would always meet his. His hands would always press into your skin.
“You remember that?” You asked.
“Kept hoping it would be me in one of them stories. ‘Cept, I know what I’m doin’,” he said.
You giggled and pushed away from him. “Big fuckin’ words, boy,” you said.
Lamont had a playful frown on his face, considering your words, before he slapped his hands onto the arm rests of your chair. He caged you in your chair while he leaned down for more kisses.
His lips were like little clouds of heaven. Each one sweet, soft, and lazy. He lowered himself to his knees, still too tall for his own good. He kept kissing you, even while his hands went roaming again.
He pulled your sweater off and took in the white tank underneath. His lips found yours again as if he didn’t want to be gone too long. He mixed in nips and licks to keep you on your toes. He grabbed his phone from out of your tank and placed it on the edge of the switch board.
He returned his attention to your body, kissing and biting you through the fabric of your tank. You felt him, but you didn’t really feel him. You lifted the tank and threw it over your head.
Cool air from the studio hit your upper body and you immediately shivered. Even with the thumping beat and lingering smoke, you weren’t warm enough. Lamont helped you lower your leggings and panties, pulling them off and throwing them across the room.
You were fully naked, staring into his dark eyes while he was still dressed. He leaned back, took in your curves, dips, and valleys with a satisfied grin.
“So that’s what you look like underneath all them damn sweaters. You been keepin’ this from me?” He asked.
He rubbed the goosebumps from your arms, scooting in between your legs and making you spread them wider to accommodate him. He looked you in the eye while he lifted one leg, kissed it, ran his tongue right behind your knee before placing it on the arm rest.
You felt ready to explode. He did the same to your other leg, but trailed more kisses down the length of it before placing it on the arm rest.
“You gon’ answer me?” He asked.
“Waat?” You asked.
He chuckled. “You were just gon’ keep hiding this from me?” He asked.
“I-I wasn’t trynna hide it,” you said. Your words were slow to form and even slower to get out.
“You wasn’t? Then why I ain’t never get a taste yet?” He asked.
He leaned across your body. His cotton shirt was almost too rough against your skin. You hissed, moving away from him but he moved forward anyway. The shirt tickled your skin but you didn’t have enough air in your lungs to giggle.
Anticipation flipped in your belly, like it was playing hopscotch in there. You didn’t know what he was going to do next. You were on an infinite precipice of waiting.
He didn’t make you wait long. He kissed you, moving his hands between you to brush his fingers along your wet seam. You jerked in the chair but he had you effectively pinned. You had nowhere to go. Trapped in the chair with him covering your naked body.
You moaned, licked your lips in between kisses, and then went back to feeling those sexy lips on yours.
His fingers pushed in, separating your pussy lips and dipping into your heated essence. He moaned into your lips, tugging on your bottom lip. “You always get this wet?” He asked.
“Uh-uh,” you said.
“No? I just bring that out of you?” He asked.
“Uh-huh,” you said. You had no words. With every swipe of his fingers, he pulled them out of your head. Each pass of his fingers around your clit made one more word disappear like air.
“So that means I get to taste it right?” He asked. He moved his nose against yours and you sighed, your pussy clenching around nothing.
“Uh-huh,” you said, lips finding his again and again. His wet, suckling kisses made you see stars behind your eyelids.
His knuckle nudged into your clit and you hissed, releasing the air in short bursts. “Oh, she a little excited,” he said.
“Oh shit,” you moaned. “Don’t tease me.”
“Don’t tease you? I like teasing you. I finally know how to shut that attitude up,” he said.
“You too damn cocky,” you moaned.
“Still running that mouth,” he said. He moved his fingers to dip in and out of your pussy, pushing his fingers deep to his knuckle. Your mouth dropped open, eyes turned bruising.
He moved his lips to your jaw and kissed down to your neck. He sprinkled kisses across your chest and then licked your nipple into his mouth, suckling. “Oh my god,” you gasped, back lifting from the chair.
Your pussy greedily sucked his fingers inside. “That’s right. Grip them fingers. Show me you like what I’m doing to you. Getting wetter over here, I’m gon’ have to buy a new chair,” he whispered around your nipple.
Your hands came up to play with his locs, rolling them between your fingers and loving the feel of them. You were in sensory overload. Everything was too much and not enough. Lamont’s filthy words had you screaming towards a climax, thighs shaking and pussy gripping him tighter.
“That’s fuckin’ right. Been dyin’ to know what you look like when you cum. You gon’ look like that riding this dick? Huh? How many pretty faces can you make while I’m rearranging your guts?” He asked.
“Lamont!” You twitched.
He continued to pump his fingers as you calmed down. It was like he was exploring your pussy with his fingers. Trying to gauge how deep you could take him. Your grip tightened around his neck and he hummed, flicking his tongue against your nipple.
When you relaxed against the chair, Lamont slowed down his fingers until stopping altogether. He licked his fingers and moaned. “Taste so fuckin’ good. You doing okay?” He asked.
You nodded, loosening your grip on his neck. You wiped up run away drool, feeling a bit embarrassed that a little finger action made you cum quicker than a man in a porn store.
Lamont shook his head, shaking the locs from his face as he pressed his face into your pussy. He took a loud, deep breathe and blew air between your pussy lips.
“Oh shit!” You screamed, hands flying back to his head. You gripped his hair while he began to eat you out in earnest, using his tongue first.
He leaned back and hummed, slapped your pussy. “Damn,” he moaned. “So fuckin’ good.” He was a messy eater, digging in like it was his last meal. His lips wrapped around your clit and sucked. He brought his hands up to roll your nipples between his fingers, squeezing and squeezing until he pinched them.
“Fuck, fuck. Lamont! Damn,” you moaned, biting your lip. Fuck! It felt too good. So damn good with his lips between your thighs and his locs tickling your skin, and your hands digging into his head. Smashing his face into your pussy, giving him free rein to explore this thing between you.
“Name sound sexy on your lips. Say it again,” he said, coming up for a bite of air.
“Lamont,” you said with a grin. His eyes flicked to yours while he continued to make out with your pussy.
“Again,” he said, muffled against your wet core.
Lamont!” You moaned while your orgasm was cresting the surface. Pressure built in your lower belly, getting so close with each new flick. Each new lick. Each new moan that told you he liked what was between your thighs. The thought that you could please him, even by the small act of being wet for him, turned the tide.
Your hand flew back to the back of the chair to steady you while your back arched. “Oh shit, Lamont!” Your neck rolled against the top of the chair while your body twitched and convulsed. Your body turned limp, riding the orgasm wherever it took you. However you looked while you spasmed.
“Tasting so fuckin’ good. Fuck, I been missing out,” Lamonst said into your pussy. He continued to lap like a cat to cream. “So fuckin’ sweet. So fuckin’ good.”
He lumbered to his feet, tossing off his white shirt. His chain bounced against his dark skin. His tattoos were darker still, spread out all over his body. You watched him through slitted eyes while he unzipped his pants.
He freed his dick and rubbed the hardened length. Shit, he was perfect. Big and girthy. It was always the skinniest niggas that packed the biggest punch. It had a slight curve to it and your pussy clenched just seeing it.
He dug into his pocket and grabbed his wallet, flipping it open and grabbing a condom. He tore it open, found the right side, and then pinched the tip. You watched him as he rolled it onto his dick, adjusting here or there until it was fully on.
He pushed your thighs back on the chair. It protested with a loud groan, conflicting with a different beat in the background. Something laid back, lazy, and slow. Light danced over his features while he leaned forward, towering over you bent like a pretzel in his chair.
“You feelin’ aiight?” He asked.
“Yes, nigga!” You said with a smack of your teeth. He chuckled, grabbing your throat with his left hand. Your eyes rolled involuntarily, hand flying to grab his wrist. Not to push him away, but to keep him there. To push for more pressure.
He obliged you, squeezing harder until you were ready to cum just from that. “You must need some dick to get you right,” he said.
“Umph, yesss,” you moaned.
He used his right hand to grip his dick and run it through your damp folds, getting the condom slick with your wetness. He pushed in slowly. You hissed, pushing against his thighs.
“Uh-uh, don’t push me away. Move them hands,” he said.
“But Lamont–”
“Move. Them. Hands,” he growled, getting close to your face and squeezing your neck.
You moved your hands with a whine. He was too damn big. He rolled his hips, sliding inside of you and working his way deeper. Your hands flew back to his thighs, pushing at him.
“Move them fuckin’ hands,” he rasped.
“Please,” you begged. You were going to pass out. There was too much pleasure. Too much desire and lust. Too much of him. His scent, his sighs, his scorching looks. He lit fires in your veins that made you whimper and pout.
“Move them fuckin’ hands right now,” he said.
Again, your hands slid away from his sweat-slick thighs with a whine. The sound was needy and desperate. You had no way of slowing this down. Slowing it down to a pace you could quickly adjust to.
His dick didn’t hurt, he just stretched you deliciously. So much so that you had a goofy smile spread across your lips like icing on a cake. You moved your hands back to his hand on your neck.
He rolled and moved his hips, stroking into you with deep, long thrusts at a steady pace that stole your breath. You whined, choppy hums in your throat. “Why you doin’ this to meeee,” you moaned.
“‘Cause I been waiting too long to get in this pussy. I’ma enjoy that shit,” he said. He smirked and dropped down to kiss you while he stroked deeper still.
You sank onto his dick while he rolled his hips, moaning with every glide. He lifted his head and rolled his neck, closing his eyes. You watched his face while he stroked, watched as he found some type of groove like your body was the switchboard and he was making a complicated beat.
He lined up perfectly. Your back arched. “Oh fuck, oh fuck. Right there, right there, Lamont,” you moaned.
“Right there?” He asked. He kept hitting your sweet spot, not deviating in the slightest.
“Right there, oh my god, I’m gon’ cum,” you moaned.
“Give it to me. Let me feel that pretty pussy grippin’ this dick. She feel so fuckin’ good. Wrapped around this dick. This what you needed? Huh? This what you needed? Them other niggas ain’t have all this for you, did they?”
Each of his questions grew fainter as your orgasm came closer and closer. Your hand pushed against his chest. Your eyes were too far in the back of your head. You were worrying a groove into your bottom lip by biting too hard.
“You still with me? This dick got yo tongue?” He asked.
“I’m-” You came with a loud moan, louder than you had ever moaned before. You twitched in the chair, the groans from it sounded violent. “Oh fuck! Oh fuck! Feel so good, Lamont!” You cried out. Yelled out.
It was a good thing that you were in a proper studio and there was no one around to hear you. Had you been at your place, your neighbors would know his fucking name.
Your hands scratched at his stomach while he chuckled and kept stroking. “Fuck. You squeezin’ the fuck outta me. You ain’t trynna let me go, huh? Now that you know I know how to hit it right. What got you screaming. What got you moaning. What got you cummin’ on this dick like that,” he said.
“Oh baby,” you moaned.
“I’m baby now? What happened to my name?” He asked.
At this point, you didn’t know your own name. You clenched around his dick and he cursed, slamming into you one more time before you felt him twitch inside. You had an errant fantasy about him cumming inside you, spilling his fat load into you and then fucking it into you.
You tucked that particular one to the back of your mind while Lamont dropped against you, loosening his grip around your throat. Your matching pants and gasps made the moment soft but fuzzy around the edges. Like when you first woke up from a good nap and didn’t know what year it was or what you were doing beforehand.
Lamont slipped out of you, stumbling back. He took off the condom, tied the ends, and threw it in the nearest trash can. He sat in own chair. He tucked himself back in but didn’t zip up his pants.
You slowly lowered your legs from the chair, feeling thoroughly fucked out. You looked towards Lamont who was studying you in the same way. He smiled first. Your smile matched his as the gravity of what you just did sunk in.
Sunk down deep into your bones. There was no going back from this. There was no way to pretend this didn’t exist. That he wasn’t just deep enough in your guts to still feel the lingering effects. You felt empty without him.
“We wasted too much fuckin’ time,” he said softly. You nodded and licked your lips.
You tapped the tips of your fingers trying to reorient yourself. Bring yourself down to reality. The reality of you with Lamont. You smiled. “Let’s not waste anymore.”
You had sex again on his red, leather couch. Nasty, intense sex where his hands were back around your throat, he was stroking deep in your guts, and staring into your eyes while he continued to shatter your world over and over again. You grinned and giggled in between his nasty words and your faint pleas for mercy.
You didn’t know what tomorrow would bring, but you were excited to find out.

Personal and Professional pt 2
Part 1

Tumblr media
Melissa just had you pinned up against your desk, her mouth roughly on your own. It takes you a few minutes to even be able to function again, brain now all over the place as you try to process what just happened.
She told you to meet her at The Capital Grille at six… That’s a couple hours from now. And she doesn’t want you to wear the outfit you’re in now: your clean yellow blouse and sweater, your dress pants and flats. So you shake your head and practically sprint out to your car. If she wants the alt girl that you are, she’ll get it.
You spend the entire drive home planning what you’ll wear on this date. You know that The Capital Grille is a relatively fancy place to go out to eat, so you can’t roll up in the usual band t-shirt or tank top and your jeans.
But you know that have quite a few skirts that you wouldn’t wear to school, and you have more than enough tops to impress the woman.
When you get home, you immediately change out your clear stud for your nose ring, and your small hoops are exchanged for your bigger,  black hoops and put in your ear spike. Your blouse is switched out for a rather revealing, black top that accentuates the piercings on your chest. You swap out your slacks for the shortest black skirt that you own that has a nice slit up the side to show off the tattoos that make their way up your thighs and hips. The ballet flats that you chose to wear to school are off, and you instead lace up your heeled boots.
You glance in the mirror, and while you would usually change your eye makeup for something a bit more… daring, you decide to just touch up the light and minimal makeup that you had on for today. There should be at least some small aspect of you that the redhead can recognize. And besides, you think your makeup looks good today. So, you head for the bathroom and start heating up your curling iron. An hour later, your hair is curled into big bombshell curls, and you make sure the few front pieces frame your face.
You still have a bit of time before you have to meet her, so you head back into the living room, pull out some of your work, and grade some papers until it’s finally an appropriate time to start heading out to the restaurant.
You park your car, and text Melissa that you’re on your way.
I’m sitting in the back, she replies back. Do you want a drink?
Whatever you’re having, is your answer, and you continue walking towards the restaurant.
When you walk in though, she’s waiting by the door to escort you over to your table.
“Hey there, pretty lady,” you say suavely.
The redhead doesn’t answer right away. She’s too busy practically drooling over your appearance.
“Mel,” you chuckle.
She blinks a few times before she’s able to take her eyes away from your chest and the rest of your outfit. “Wow.”
“Like what you see?” you give her a little twirl.
“More than I think you realize.”
You roll your eyes playfully before looping your arm through hers. “You look beautiful.”
“You look… holy shit,” she whispers as she pulls you in close and kisses you with more passion than she had in the classroom.
You kiss her back, but you do pull away. Your cheeks are red and hot. Despite appearances, you still are the woman that you are at school, and you can’t help but feel quite flustered with the public display of affection.
She takes you into the back of the restaurant, where your table is. There’s a small bouquet of flowers waiting for you, along with two glasses of wine.
She pulls out your seat, and you gently kiss her cheek as she helps you situate yourself before she takes a seat across the table from you.
You smile softly as she practically drinks in the sight of you. Feeling just a bit flustered, you reach for the glass that she has waiting for you and wait for her to grab her own. The two of you silently toast to each other before you take a rather large gulp of wine.
“This place,” you say softly. “It’s… really nice.”
“I know I flirt with you rather crassly at school,” Melissa chuckles. “But you deserve the best, hun.”
You feel your cheeks heat up even more, and you can’t help the warm feeling that settles in your chest. “Thank you.”
You glance down at the table for a menu, but there isn’t one.
“Food is already on its way,” your coworker tells you. “I know what you like.”
She’s right. She had ordered you a nice filet minion, and she had ordered the same for herself. This food is to die for.
Conversation flows between the two of you easily, but you’ve noticed that the redhead has a hard time focusing on your eyes the way that she usually can at school.
“Penny for your thoughts?” you finally ask.
Her eyes flit from your chest to your eyes, cheeks flushed. Whether that’s from the wine or from her being caught staring at your tasteful piercings, you don’t know.
“I know I told you to come dressed as your little alt girl self, but…” she hums. “Wow. I wasn’t expecting… those piercings, or the flowery vines that travel up your legs.”
“You saw those?”
“Of course I did,”she whispers. “You look absolutely… stunning.”
You feel the way that her boot finds its way to your leg, and she runs it up your calf. You feel a shiver run up to your spine. But before you can really react, it’s gone, and she’s acting like nothing had ever happened.
The two of you are back to talking about your days and the things that your students had gotten up to today.
Before you know it, dessert is being brought out, along with two glasses of champagne. She moves from the seat across from you, and the teacher makes her way around the table and to your side. She takes up the seat next to you, daringly running a hand up your thigh. You can’t quite help the way that your body reacts. You nearly purr.
“You like that?” she whispers.
You nod, words caught in your throat. You don’t think you can answer without letting out a soft moan.
“No time for that now,” she says huskily. She dips the spoon into the tiramisu that had been brought to your table before bringing it up to your lips.
Deciding two can play at that game, you take the spoonful of dessert before letting out a moan. You lick the spoon clean as seductively as you can.
Melissa’s eyes go wide before she spoons another bite and taking it herself. The two of you finish off the dish in front of you, her hand on your thigh the entire time. She’s rubbing gentle circles on your skin with the pad of your thumb before tracing the tattooed vines up your leg as high as your skirt will allow.
“You cold, hun?” Melissa whispers into your ear.
You swallow harshly before shaking your head. Daringly, you take her hand and move it to your hipbone. She doesn’t know it, but that’s where the vines end- they’re attached to a beautiful flower that is engraved into your hip.
Her eyes linger where her hand has been placed before looking into your eyes. She pulls you in for a gentle kiss, one that conveys just how she feels for you: that this isn’t just some small fling but instead holds deep and passionate feelings for you. She gently squeezes your hip, and you whimper at that.
“Mel,” you mumble into her mouth.
She pulls away, and she can tell with the way that you’re looking at her that you feel the same as her. “Should we go to my place?”
You nod, and she grabs both of your bags before gesturing for you to stand.
“The bill,” you say softly, not moving from your place.
She shakes her head and rolls her eyes.
“We can’t just dine and dash… especially at a restaurant like this,” you whisper.
She waves you off. “My cousin Anthony owns this jawn. It’s fine.” She offers you a hand, and you take it gently.
As the two of you exit, she waves to a few of the people, expressing her thanks to them. They all give her small smiles, a few of them raise their eyebrows as they look you over, and the two of you walk out hand in hand.
“Where’s your car, babe?” she asks you.
“In the garage on Samson,” you tell her, and she walks you over.
“Anthony let me park by their loading docks,” she grins as she opens the door to your driver’s seat.
“Let me drive you back over then,” you offer.
“If you insist,” she chuckles as she makes her way around and settles next to you. Your hand rests gently on her thigh as you pull out of your spot and exit the garage, only to turn back onto the street that you had dinner on. Her car is waiting for her, and she gives you a quick kiss before heading to her car.
“Follow me over?” she asks. You nod and wait for her to start leading the way.
As you pull in behind her in her driveway, you glance at yourself in the rear view mirror. You make sure that your hair looks nice, you wipe away some of the makeup that is under your eyes, and you grin when you see her standing at your door waiting.
You open the door, and her arm is immediately out and waiting for you to take it. She leads you up the walkway before she unlocks her door.
You barely have a foot in the door before she has you pinned up against it.
“You have any other surprises in store for me?” she asks huskily as her mouth finds your neck.
You hum, entirely distracting with the things that she’s doing to you. “That’s for you to find out, isn’t it?”
Her eyes turn dark and full of lust, and as she’s leading you up to her bedroom, you silently thank God that she found you in that grocery store the other day.

hots for teacher (melissa schemmenti x fem!reader)
part 2
summary: you've been infatuated with melissa schemmenti ever since you worked under her as a student teacher. what will happen when you meet again a few years later?
warnings: NSFW content, implied future smut (part 2 on the way??), praise kink, age gap idk
notes: hi everyone! my name is april, and this is my first ever fanfiction. i wrote this for fun and then decided to share it with the community, because i love the little gay women in my phone! i've been reading fics on tumblr for as long as i've been on the internet, so this is a strange experience for me. anyway, enjoy, and let me know what you guys think!
Tumblr media
tonight you looked sexy, and you knew it. you wore a sinfully short black dress with colorful butterflies. it was one of your favorites; it showed just the right amount and hugged just the right places to be tantalizing. your eyes were painted with thin black wings and soft, glittery eyeshadow that made you look like a sweet dream. your lips glistened and your hair was tied up in two dutch braids. you were a vision.
all this meant that you were not the least bit surprised when a deep, sultry female voice sounded from behind where you sat at the bar.
"it should be illegal to look like that in public."
you smiled coyly and turned around to face the stranger.
"why? see something you like?" when you turned to face her, however, you were met with a familiar face. it was a face you'd seen in your dreams time after time: your former boss, melissa schemmenti.
you had been assigned to work with melissa as a student teacher while you were in school for your teaching certification. at the time, she was teaching two grades simultaneously, so she was grateful to have you there to ease the burden. it didn't hurt that you were always so eager to please. you wanted to learn and become the best teacher you could be.
of course, your motives weren't entirely pure. you were attracted to melissa from the moment you saw her. you remembered it like it was yesterday: her flaming red hair was slightly messy from trying to wrangle her double class, and her glasses sat askew on her nose. then you came along and turned everything around. she would give you to-do lists, and you would finish them before lunchtime the same day.
"great job, hon! you're so good, don't know what i'd do without you..." she'd say each time, beaming with pride at her new prodigee.
"o-of course, ms. schemmenti. what else can i do for you?" you'd respond, blushing profusely at the praise and struggling to hold her intense gaze.
within a week of having you, melissa was caught up on all her work. she couldn't help but feel like you were an angel, or some kind of gift from god. whatever you were, she cherished you. as the two of you spent more time together, she started to want you more and more. every project, every conversation, every smile you two shared only added to your chemistry.
she had fun with it--teasing you with special pet names and praise, watching you get all flustered and squirmy. she knew you liked her back. you weren't the most subtle about your desire.
melissa would never act on her feelings, though. you were a doe-eyed twenty-something with big dreams, and she was your much older boss. getting involved with you would be too messy. but she always held out hope, even after you left abbott, that one day you'd meet again.
you studied melissa's sly smirk for a moment, in disbelief at your luck. it had been two years since you left abbott. you had your own big girl job now, and you were a bit more mature. there was nothing stopping you from acting on your desires.
"oh my god, ms. schemmenti! please, have a drink with me. it's been a while." you hoped you didn't sound too desperate, although you definitely looked desperate once you got a good glance at her.
her look was striking. your breath hitched in your throat as you scanned her form, dressed in red leather pants and a button-down shirt. her arms were visibly muscled, even through the jacket. the black button-down shirt she wore was unbuttoned just enough to tease her cleavage. around her waist was a thick black belt that you wanted to pull on. her fiery hair was tied back haphazardly in a high ponytail, just messy enough to be sexy. and her hands—god, her fingers were long and ringed and—
"whatever you say, kid," she shrugged and sat down next to you, giving you a playful smile. "and you can call me melissa now."
she had a mischievous glint in her eye, probably knowing how you felt just by the wanton way you stared at her. when she sat down beside you, you felt your whole body heat up. your thighs were almost touching from the proximity, and you could smell her intoxicating perfume with each inhale. feeling her body so close to yours had you more drunk than the alcohol. it didn't help that her eyes now roamed over your body shamelessly, taking in your glistening lips and lingering on your soft cleavage. you tried your best to play it cool.
you talked for a while, catching up on everything. you told her about your new job at a suburban elementary school, your volunteer tutoring on the weekends, your summers in the mountains. she beamed with pride hearing of your accomplishments.
"that's great, y/n! sounds like you're goin' places."
"thank you! i think i owe a lot of my success to my student teaching experience—everyone at abbott was great, including you. especially you," you looked at her with an intense gaze, feeling your desire catch up with you.
"you were such a passionate mentor. you just had this way of getting me excited..." you trailed off as you fixated on the stirrings of a smirk on her face.
"...excited about learning," you finished shakily.
"mm-hmm," she chuckled.
maybe it was the alcohol, or the simple fact that she was right next to you and seemingly devouring you with her eyes, but you became bolder then. you only had one shot at this.
"i mean, you really touched me in a way that nobody else could," you leaned in, dragging out your syllables for emphasis. "i worked so hard because i just needed to be good for you."
now she was the one shuddering. you had the upper hand, if only for a moment. but she quickly got her boldness back.
"i noticed that. always so bright and attentive. i bragged to all the other teachers about what a good girl you were." to top it all off, she punctuated her sentence by placing her hand firmly on your knee.
you thought you were going to explode right then and there. your skin erupted in goosebumps at her touch, and you spread your legs ever so slightly to indicate your consent. her face split into a smug grin and she began to crawl her fingers up your thigh, agonizingly slowly.
your response came as a shaky whisper. you were sure you must have soaked through your panties just from her teasing touches.
"it's good to know that you thought so highly of me. i looked up to you a lot," you said sheepishly. "um, i'm a bit embarrassed to admit it, but i did have a bit of a crush on you..."
"oh, yeah. that doesn't surprise me. don't be embarrassed, hon. you can't help what you feel," her hand had stalled at the midpoint of your thigh, and she looked at you with sincerity.
"it doesn't surprise you?" you asked, struggling to get the words out once she resumed stroking your thigh.
"i had my suspicions," she said with a knowing smirk. "i'm sharper than i look, ya know."
her darkened eyes sent shivers down your spine. you felt your core heat up at the humiliation of knowing she knew exactly what you thought about her.
"am i that obvious?" you asked, somewhat breathily.
"oh, sweetheart," she laughed. she leaned in close and you could smell her perfume, feel the warmth of her breath on your skin. her fingers pinched the skin of your thigh as she whispered to you. "you sat five feet away from me for months, always wearin' those little black skirts. you think i didn't see you rub your thighs together every time i gave you praise?"
her hand now caressed your inner thigh softly, teasingly. you failed to respond, trying to process her words but finding yourself unable to do anything but whimper almost silently.
"so soft here. mhmm," she husked into your ear. there was a hint of giddiness in her voice, as if she was pleased with herself for taking you apart so easily. "does that feel good, princess? do you like it when i touch you?"
"yes!" you said, almost too loudly for the public setting. "yes, i like it very much."
"good," she whispered as her fingers found the edge of your panties. your thighs spread even wider, and you let out a small gasp.
"we've got lots more to catch up on, don't we?" she continued, her fingers drawing feather-light circles over your clit through the fabric. you wondered if she could feel you throbbing for her. your hips bucked up to meet her hand, and she slapped your thigh in warning. "if you wanna keep talkin', we can head back to mine..."
you turned to her with big, glazed-over eyes. still whimpering, you nodded rapidly, earning a laugh from the older woman. she grabbed your hand and guided you out of the packed bar.
"i'm gonna wreck you, hon," she mumbled without looking back at you.

Nothing Matters
Freshly single Melissa goes to a bar.
Tumblr media
The bastard came clean. Joe finally came clean about cheating on Melissa and now the redhead is single for the first time since college. After hours of tears and time on the phone and in person with an attorney, the papers are finalized and she’s ready to celebrate.
Dressed in her favorite little black dress Melissa fluffs her hair once more as she sits outside the bar in her car, taking a breath she gets out, heels clicking against the cement. As she goes in the music gets louder and the smell of smoke and beer hit her nose making her smile.
“Hey, Melissa!” The man behind the bar smiles. “Your usual?”
“Yeah, Tommy thanks.” She sits as he slides a glass of bourbon neat over to her.
“Is this a celebratory drink?” He asks over the music.
“That’s right. Joe can fuck all the way off to god knows where.” She smiles, finally feeling light, free.
“That’s right! Fuck Joe.” He laughs.
Across the bar you sit nursing your own poison, watching the stunning woman curiously as you stand at a tabletop with your group. With a smile, you grab your friends empty beer bottle using it as an excuse to get closer to the woman.
“Tommy! I need another!” You call out leaning over, not making eye contact with the woman right away.
“Hey, y/n! This is Melissa, you two have something in common,” he laughs turning to grab a beer.
“Oh yeah? What’s that?” Melissa quirks a brow eyeing you. When she does, you feel a warmth rush over you.
“Your guess is as good as mine,” you chuckle holding your hand out even in the close proximity, “I’m y/n.”
Melissa nods, taking your hand in a firm handshake.
“You might wanna ask her about Joe.” The bartender nods to you, handing the bottle over.
“Sleazy Joe?” You laugh in shock. “Oh god.” You groan necking the bottle before you lean closer to Melissa. “Joe works with my big brother, he’s always been a creep towards me and my girlfriend, well, ex girlfriend.”
Taking in the words Melissa can’t help but scoff at the new information. “I’m sorry, hon, He’s an asshole. That’s why I divorced his sorry ass.”
Chuckling you lean on the bar popping your hip out. “Well, here’s to taking out the trash, fuck Joe!.” You beam holding your beer out, cheersing to the woman’s new laughter.
The redhead laughs, something in her eye giving you a warm feeling.
“Next rounds on me, hon.” She gently squeezes your toned arm.
“Hey, you’re here to celebrate, come hangout with me and my friends. They’re alright I swear.” You tease nodding to your group, including your brother.
It doesn’t take much to convince Melissa to mingle. A couple hours later, Melissa has her arm around your neck screaming along with you into the microphone.
And you can hold me like he held her
And I will fuck you like nothing matters
And you can hold me like he held her
And I will fuck you like nothing matters
With one hand on her hip you both bounce around on the stage together, alcohol gone from your systems now from the sheen of sweat covering you.
Even when the cold comes crashing through
I'm putting all my bets on you
I hope they never understand us
I put my heart inside your palms
My home in your arms
Now we know nothing matters
Nothing matters
When the song ends the crowd paying attention whoops and hollers. You hop off the stage first holding your hand out for Melissa, the redhead wrapping her arm around your waist as you go back to the table.
“Shots for the singers!” Your brother laughs handing them over.
Clinking the shots together you both take the drinks dipping your heads back.
“I’m hot! Let’s go outside.” Melissa yells over the music, pulling you along with her.
Outside the bar you let out a laugh taking in the cool night air.
“I gotta tell ya hon, this is the most fun I’ve had in a long time.” Melissa admits with a smile that makes your heart skip a beat.
“Yeah? I’m happy to hear it. You looked like you needed it. I uh, I’m happy I was talked into coming out here tonight.” You beam.
Melissa takes a step closer to you, her chin tipped up with a smirk. “And that ex girlfriend of yours, how set in stone is that?”
Your eyes flick down to glossy lips then back up to sparkling green eyes. “Pretty set in stone, enough for me to get the courage to give you my number.” You grin pulling an inked napkin out of your pocket.
The redhead smiles, not breaking eye contact with you as she takes the napkin, fingers brushing against yours.
“And if I call you tomorrow to invite you to dinner?”
“I’d ask white or red wine?”
Melissa chuckles, gently squeezing your hand. “Good answer.”
Sure enough, the next day you wake up with a slight headache and your phone ringing. You even contemplate sending Joe a thank you note.

Picking at the warm vegetables on your plate with the food, you listened to your parents converse about your study timetable and how it would need to be adjusted now that your aunt is coming to visit soon.
"I'm telling ya, her grades will be intact whether Melissa is here or not. What you do need to control is your raggedy little sister and she's going to behave in my house. My daughter will graduate from that university with my money in the bank." Your father snapped at your mother the moment she mentioned her younger sister.
Looking at the ticking clock on the wall and seeing the hands hit 2:45. Growing up, that would be your three hour warning mark to finish up any homework and take your ass right to bed to wake up at the crack of dawn because your father wanted you to study. Your friends were your books and maybe your two neighbours, Leilani and Justine.
"I told you, Marcus. You better respect my sister when she gets here. You acting like you the only person contributing money into this home. I work too damn hard to not be given credit." Your mother scoffed, stuffing a mini potato in her mouth as she rolled her eyes at your dad.
He simply sighed, looking at you with the same anger that he held for your mother. The moment you were born, he knew you would inherit everything from your mom and he loathed that. Your mom never told him that she was having a girl and that only pushed him to raise you to be his carbon copy with smarts and it confused you as a child. You cooped yourself up and became 'their precious little angel', staying away from everything the normal kids were doing.
I mean, you only got a phone after your 18th birthday and it only stopped being monitored months ago, giving you freedom to try and find yourself. However, you never gave yourself a chance to explore your personality. You even do college online because of what your parents taught you which is to stay away from people because they all have bad intentions.
"Y/n, take that phone of yours and go outside to take a walk. We need this to be a conversation for grown people." He ordered, immediately making you stand up and take your plate to clean it up. After stepping out of the kitchen, you quickly walked to your room to get changed. Looking at your reflection in the mirror, you looked pretty decent with a light pink knit sweater with a pair of jeans with air force ones.
Heading to the front door, you heard your mother's booming voice from the dining room. "Don't go anywhere near some boys. You already look like a target for them." Rolling your eyes, you took the spare house keys and slammed the door shut as you stood on the porch. You could hear the complaints from your parents but you could care less about anything they have to say.
Your current mood was caused by a realisation you had earlier. You have no money neither do you have any financial freedom. There are things you wish you could do but you knew your parents held you back but they're right, the world wasn't a safe place even if they are superheros protecting the universe.
Shaking your head out of your thoughts, you gently knocked on the oakwood door, feeling your hands trembling. As the door opened, her deep ginger hair peeked through the door and a grin was painted her face as she recognised who was at her doorstep.
"Hey neighbour!" Your good friend and neighbour Leilani, greeted you enthusiastically with her arms open, ready to hug you. You accepted the hug and let go once she invited you inside her home.
"Hey Lei..."  You trailed off, admiring her house. It was the complete opposite of what yours was because of the multiple plants adorning her walls and windows along with the vibrant colours of her furniture and how different objects were shaped differently, definitely reflecting her calm yet energetic nature.
Seeing them stop in their tracks in their emerald green kitchen, she turned back to face you with a concerned look on their face. "Nope, I will not allow you to be sad in my house. What's wrong?" Lani ran back to your side and gestured for you to sit on the large couch facing the huge tv.
"It's just," you started, plopping down on the soft couch. "I feel so...weird. People my age are doing things that would put my parents in a coma. I understand why they do what they do but it would be nice to do something for myself for once, y'know?" You whined. All your friend did was nod.
"Look, you probably don't wanna hear this but you need to start doing shit for yourself." She replied, seeing you physically cringe at the curse word. "This friendship is the most independent thing you have going for you. Hell, you even do college online because they asked you to." Leilani turned to face you completely.
"My question to you is what do you want for yourself? And don't even think of mentioning your weird ass parents." She commented, making you cut your eyes at her at the subtle insult directed to your parents.
What do you actually want for yourself? First thing that comes to your mind is freedom but you couldn't betray your parents like that. They sacrificed so much for you but if you think about clearly, the insults and bullying from them was unnecessary because you did everything they asked of you. You couldn't go to school because they wanted you to stay home. You couldn't find your own fashion sense because they claimed it was that of whorish behaviour when behind their backs, you gawked at the gorgeous women who were independent and rich on the one app you were allowed to have, Pinterest.
You envied those women. You hated how they could dress freely as they wanted to, you hated how they spent their money on beautiful bags, vacations and diamonds. You hated the smiles on their faces when holding the expensive bag with the shortest mini skirt on. You hated how you wanted to be just like them. You wanted to be a luxurious babe who had as many shoes as there were diamonds on her cuban link.
And oh, how you wanted to be loved. How you want to show off the flowers you had randomly gotten from your significant other. How you wanted to film your reaction to receiving your dream car. How you wanted to keep your relationship private from the world. And most definitely how you wanted to be treated like a princess both physically and sexually. You knew you had no experience in anything involving things that were in the bedroom. The only way you could express such was reading erotic books in the library far from home but then again, you couldn't bring yourself to read past kisses.
You wanted to be rich. You wanted to be loved. You wanted to be happy. You wanted to be free.
You just didn't know where to start.
"I want to do whatever I want." You answered, seeing a smile spread across Leilani's face. She motioned her hand for you to continue. "I want to be able to go out and be social. I wanna form friendships and relationships. I want to be free, Lani." You expressed, feeling tears prick your eyes at the realisation of your dreams.
Leilani stood up and reached her hand out to you. "Wanna start now?" She smirked. Your small smile dropped from your face along with your shoulders.
"I can't," You hesitated. "I don't have anything. They took my whole allowance and put it in my dad's pocket to go towards the church." You explained. Lani's smile widened even more. She took out her phone to text someone. "That's okay, Justine and I have been waiting for this day."
"Waiting? What are you talking about?" You said, still sitting. You were too scared to stand around in people's houses, your parents said it was rude.
"We are taking you to rebel against your parents. Just give them a bit of a heart attack when we get back." She smirked, aggressively typing her phone. You couldn't even respond because you were so shocked. Justine and Leilani were the wildest people you knew, constantly experimenting with tattoos, piercings and all sorts of clothing.
Maybe this is what you needed in order to start your journey into freedom.
-
The sun was beaming in your face as you sat in the passenger seat of Justine's car, driving down roads that had shops you'd only dreamt of buying from. The bass of the music had the windows slightly vibrating and your two friends sang along loudly to some rappers who you obviously weren't familiar with. Drake and 21 something. Yeah, that sounded about right.
You couldn't help but bop your head along as the beat of the song was hitting against your chest, the melody slowly becoming one of your favourite sounds.
As the song was coming to an end, Justine lowered the volume. "How you feel about piercings?" She questioned, coming to a halt at the red light. You turned your head to show her the frightened look on your face when you heard what sounded like revving from the car next door. Looking at it from your side, it looked matte black with tinted windows. However, you couldn't tell what it was because Justine was fangirling over it.
Slumping back in your seat as it sped away, your friends started discussing it. "Ayo, wasn't that a Mansory?!" Leilani exclaimed from the back seat. "I just know that shit cost a good couple millions." Justine smiled and sped up a little to catch up with the car but it was too far. Holding on to the handle on the car and gripping onto the seatbelt felt like the safest thing to do.
"Man, I love doing that. Anyway, y/n. You ain't answer the question." Justine changed the topic so quickly, you couldn't feel yourself nod, seeing the wide smiles on their faces.
Parallel parking her car in a few seconds seemed effortless as Justine parked in front of a edgy looking parlour, 'V's Secret'. "Okay! Now y/n, remember to enjoy yourself. It's okay to be nervous and if you need anything, just call us. Just don't forget what we discussed." Lani said, leaning forward and looking at me. I nodded and took a deep breath.
"Uh thanks guys. I guess I-i'll see you guys later." You stuttered, clutching onto the small purse Leilani gave you since you didn't have any and you were too scared to go back home anyway so you just agreed to go with your friends.
You got out the car and waved to your overly excited friends who slowly drove off as they watched you step onto the pavement. This would be your first step into your new life, one that wouldn't be controlled by your parents. You surprisingly agreed to their plan of roaming around and window shop, getting food by yourself and anything else you could do with the money they had given you to 'jumpstart your new life' as they said.
Eventually facing the tattoo and piercing shop and taking another deep breath, you enter with fake confidence, gaining the courage to speak to someone, anyone than your friends and parents.
-
Exiting the shop, you wiped the last of your tears as you held a smile on your face. Grabbing your old, barely functioning phone from the purse, you looked at yourself and admired your nose piercing. It may have been small but you absolutely loved it. So much so that you hadn't been paying attention to where you were going. As if time was slowing down, you collided with someone else and watched your phone fall out of your hands, falling apart as it hit the floor.
Muttering out a few apologies, you kneeled down to collect your absolutely destroyed phone and saw a tattooed and ring-clad hand enter your vision. Looking to the side of the hand, you could see a bright orange bag with blue straps, with you immediately recognising it as 'Louis Vuitton'.
You couldn't pinpoint where you had seen the tattoos on the person's hand but they seemed extremely familiar. "No, please forgive me. I wasn't focused." A low, slightly deep accented voice assured. The accent. It all started to click for you on who exactly you bumped into. Lifting your head to look at the woman, you internally freaked out.
Queen Shuri of Wakanda. The Black Panther was in your presence, helping you. This is the same woman who you had to do an extensive project on in order to get the highest grade for your class. This was the woman who you were incredibly intimidated by whenever she would make eye contact with the camera whenever you were watching her interviews. This was one of the wealthiest and smartest people on earth. She was also what your peers would call your 'gay awakening'. She was one of the most powerful people in the world and she's helping you.
She stood up at the same time as you and the height difference was evident as she towered over you. Looking at the hand extended to you held your phone, it was definitely not going to work after that fall. Still holding an apologetic look on her face, Shuri covered the phone with her hand and held eye contact with you.
"Again, I feel absolutely terrible. Do you mind if we could go replace it?" Shuri suggested. Finally snapping out of it, you furrowed your eyebrows. "O-oh I can't make you do that. I-it's okay, Your Majesty." You hesitated to decline. From the minimal reports you had on the woman in front of you, you knew she didn't take no for an answer.
Her eyes slightly lowered and she tilted her head a little, still keeping the eye contact. You couldn't even feel her taking the phone from your hand. "I insist." She smirked and you felt a drop in your stomach as you could see a glimpse of something  gold resting on her teeth.
"Okay." You whispered as she nodded and held your hand in one hand and the LV bag in the other. She began walking slowly in order for you to match her pace. "If I may ask, what is your name?" She spoke up as she still held your hand. She knew very well that people could see her and immediately recognise her but no one dared to question it.
Giving yourself a chance to observe her, you noticed that she wore a black compression shirt with black cargos paired with sneakers that looked to be from Nike. The cuban link rested on her collarbones shone brightly as the sun reflected on the diamonds. Her earrings were matching with the beaded bracelet on her wrist and on the other sat a silver and gold watch with a dark green face.
"It's Y/n, Your Majesty." You muttered, feeling the eyes on you as you walked with Shuri. You two looked completely different from each other and you knew that. She looked powerful, holding her head high and not being bothered by the stares but you, however, were an anxious mess. Today was going to be simple with you just doing one or two things that were out of your comfort zone but to be walking with royalty was just out of this world.
If your parents caught wind of this, you would be in trouble. Worse than what you could ever imagine.
Seeing Shuri slow down her pace made you halt your steps as you stopped by a car. A car that you somewhat recognised as the one that Justine and Leilani were screaming over. It was truly beautiful when it's parked in front of you. The sharp edges of the design fit Shuri and her current vibe. The car was huge and looked expensive. Shuri watched as you gawked at the car, fascinated by you. The sense of innocence you carried and how you had spoken to her as if you had feared her.
She did not want you to be afraid of her and her status however the innocent look in your eyes sparked something within her. How she wanted to protect you and keep you all to herself because the world would be far too cruel to you. The way you just are boosts her ego to a level she didn't even know existed. She wanted to spoil you with all the money she had. She couldn't get you to be with her yet so she'd lure you in with something that clearly caught your attention very quickly: money.
She unlocked the car and immediately opened the car door for you to which you thanked her as you entered the car that smelt like heaven. The scents of vanilla, sandalwood and a hint of chocolate hit your nose in the most pleasant way. Looking at the rest of the car, you noticed that the stitching on the seats was yellow with the logo replaced with a panther and there were stars on the roof. The dash of the car was black with a hints that you're inside a Lamborghini. Not just any, a customised version for the queen of Wakanda.
She entered the car very quietly, making sure to not startle you during your observation. You watched as her tattooed hand lifted the lever and press 'start', hearing the car roar as she got ready to drive, fastening her seatbelt and her reaching over to fasten yours. Her face was inches away from yours, smelling her perfume and looking at her neck tattoos, drove you crazy. The same feeling you had when you looked at her the first time definitely increased because of her kind gesture. You unconsciously clenched your thighs together, seeing her subtly smirk at you.
"Your name is beautiful. May I apologise once again for your phone." Shuri mentioned, seeing you shake your head in disagreement. "Seriously, there's no need to. I was at fault mostly because I wasn't looking, Panther." You assured, immediately slapping your hand over your mouth as you looked away from her.
Panther?! Why did you call her that?!
"So I'm guessing we're on nickname basis already? I haven't even gotten the chance to introduce myself, sthandwa." She teased, turning the steering wheel to finally drive into the main road. "I-I know that." You muttered making the woman next to you chuckle.
"Can I?" She asked, with you immediately nodding your head. She took note of your eagerness around her. How cute.
"I'm Queen Shuri of Wakanda and also the Black Panther. Do you mind telling me about yourself?" She suggested to which you turned to face her. How were you going to do this? You couldn't reveal your entire life story to her but then again, she's the only person you've met outside of your neighbourhood. You felt protected with Shuri.
"I'm..y/n and I'm a broke college student who just recently got a nose piercing." You said and she looked at you. Looking into your eyes then nose then lips and back to your eyes again. "The piercing suits you." She complimented you and you couldn't help but blush at her words. "Thank you." You whispered as you hid behind your sweater paw.
As if time sped up, the car had stopped and Shuri was climbing out of it to open the door for you once again. You looked at your surroundings once you stepped outside and it was the Apple Store. Knowing how expensive the phones and accessories were, you immediately turned to plead with Shuri to not enter but she gave you a look, lowered eyes with a teasing smile that definitely shut you up.
Walking into the store, you noticed it was empty with employees standing around, gawking at the two of you. Shuri stopped at a particular table with the latest phones on display. Looking at her confused, she pointed to the phones. "Choose the one you want, entle." She smirked. You shook your head slightly, placing your hand on hers. "Shuri, I can't. This is too expensive-"
"I don't take no for an answer, nkosazana. Please, be my guest and choose other things if you want." She looked around the shop and you saw how the workers literally looked away if she faced them. As you looked back at the phones, Shuri went to the employees to introduce herself to every single one of them, displaying her kindness. As much as she has power, she would never want anyone to be scared of her.
-
Tapping her Kimoyo beads onto the machine and hearing a ping, the employee bagged up your items and gave them to you as Shuri gave you a smile, displaying her grillz. Holding your hand as you two walked out of the store, she greeted everyone goodbye to which they responded back enthusiastically.
You placed the bag in the back seat and entered the passenger seat once again. You felt hot. You kept fanning yourself and using your sweater as a fan. You knew it was because of Shuri. The way she spoke to the employees, the way she held your waist when you had wandered to get a cheaper phone but she wouldn't allow it, wanting you to have what you desired. The way she smiled at you when she was talking to other people. The look she gave you when you thanked her as they rang up your items.
She started driving towards the direction of where you met her. "Would you like a change of clothes? I noticed it in the store." She smiled. "I couldn't possibly do that to you. What you spent on me is more than enough and I'm forever grateful." You gestured to the bag sitting in the backseat.
"Y/n. I truly don't mind doing it all over again. Is that okay with you, sthandwa?" She turned to face you as she stopped at a red light, lifting your chin slightly with a finger. Looking into her eyes, you could tell she was serious.
You pondered over what she just said to you. "So, you are suggesting that you wanna continue spending money on me? Why?" You questioned and she gave a cheeky smile.
"Why not?" She responded and continued driving. You slouched down into the passenger seat in disbelief. Was this going to get you in trouble? Looking at Shuri for some sort of clarification that this is actually happening, you noticed the way she drove. Effortlessly driving with one hand whilst the other is relaxed, ready to shift the Lamborghini into sport mode and in that moment, it made your attraction to her more obvious even though you thought you were being discreet.
Your increased heartbeat heightened her panther senses greatly. Shuri could see you shyly turn away from her whenever she made eye contact with you and she definitely saw the way your face brightened up every time you would see stores like Gucci or Chanel as you two drove past them.
"But.." You sighed, not sure whether to say anything to Shuri or not but there was a sense of comfort you felt with her and it urged you to tell her. It was also for your own good as you kept thinking back to your parents and what they would think of your actions.
"Mhm?" She hummed.
"It's just that...my parents aren't very..nice people. They won't accept any of this, they don't even want me going outside the house! How am I gonna hide these gifts? Oh my goodness, how am I gonna get home?!" You panicked. You've said too much and now, Shuri's going to judge you. Your parents always warned you about talking too much.
You tried breathing in and out, trying to calm your mind clouded with negative thoughts, insults your mom would hurl at you for easily getting into someone's car and how your father would lock you inside your room for even staying out this long.
You had been so out of it, you didn't realise that Shuri had stopped the car on the side of the road and was on your side of the car in seconds. She opened your car door and immediately held your face in her hands. "Hey hey, it's okay, it's okay." Shuri whispered as she tried to look into your eyes which were flowing with tears. You wrapped your arms around her neck as you melted into her touch. Shuri's scent had filled your nose, easing your nerves as your tears slowed down.
"Please look at me, entle." She pleaded. Lifting your head with embarrassment, you looked into her beautiful dark eyes that held sincerity and..adoration. "How about this? Let's go shopping for anything you want. Would that make you happy?" Shuri suggested and you looked at her with wide eyes again.
"You would do that for me?" You asked and you swore you saw Shuri's eyes darken as she stared into yours. "In a heartbeat, sthandwa." And that right there confirmed that you were now her sugar baby.
-
Stumbling onto Leilani's porch with multiple shopping bags, you knocked and waited for your neighbour to answer her door. Shuri was standing next to you, hoping to help you inside. The pretty Lamborghini was sitting in front of Leilani's house to not get you in trouble which you were most definitely in.
Looking over at your home, you noticed the lights were still on but you kept seeing figures in your room. It was probably your parents doing an 'inspection' as they call it where they check for anything that seems out of your character, such as you writing anything other than school work or even a fictional book.
Even though Shuri tried her best to calm you down throughout the day, you couldn't help but panic. You disrespected your parents. You completely disobeyed them and you knew you were in for it. They would most likely lock you up in your room however, there was a part of you that didn't care. You were happy. Even if this was the only day you would ever be free, you got to spend it with Shuri who you were forever grateful for.
Oh, Shuri. You trusted her with everything you had. How you finally voiced your feelings about your parents and how you realised that you weren't like other people your age. Shuri knew you hadn't recognised your sheltered-ness away from the world yet you yearned to be out there and completely change your perspective on life to that of a rich and free woman. She wanted to be the one to do that for you. To show you how fun life can be, to corrupt you a little, to make you feel good and to spoil you rotten.
Before you could lift another finger to knock on the door again, it swung open and revealed Leilani, wearing the same outfit as earlier and barely focusing on the people in front of her and shouting at whoever was in the living room.
"Yeah yeah, just scroll through the shows Justine! I think it's- Oh my god, y/n! You're alive! How'd you..get..here?" Lani's speech trailed off completely as she let go of your face and stared at who was standing next to you with utter surprise.
"Uh-I-uh" She stammered. She never does that. Hearing commotion from the front door, Justine also made her way there only for her to be shocked just like Leilani. "Is this real?" Justine whispered to you whilst looking at Shuri. "It is very much real however I do have to leave now. It was nice to meet you..." Shuri began, trailing off by asking for their names.
"Leilani!" "Justine!" They both shouted, making Shuri smile. "I'm Shuri. Just making sure that Y/n gets home safely. Have a good rest of your evening," She introduced herself then turned to you. "Sthandwa, I'll see you tomorrow." She kissed your forehead and waved at your starstruck friends as she walked to her car, revving it as she drove down the street.
You turned back to your friends with a smile on your face and they immediately dragged you and the shopping bags inside before screaming their lungs out. "Was that the fucking Queen of Wakanda?!" "She was on my damn porch!" Leilani looked at you and that's when you knew you were in for a long night with your friends.
"Girl, we said a nose piercing, not half of Beyoncé's closet!" Justine picked up the bags and looked at the labels. "Bitch. She's got Gucci, Chanel, Rick Owens, Ysl, Balmain, Burberry, Dior and is that...is that Valentino?!" Leilani joined Justine in looking at the 13 bags sprawled out on the floor.
"Wait a damn minute. Shuri bought all this for you?" Justine asked you and looked into your eyes. You instantly started feeling bad. "Oh, was she not supposed to? I can call her and tell her to take them back-" "NO!" Your friends simultaneously shouted, causing you to flinch at the noise. "Sorry, what we meant to say was that these are your things. Queen Shuri bought them for you so you don't have to return them, okay?" Leilani then explained and you nodded.
"Do you wanna tell us about your day? After getting the piercing, what happened?" Justine asked as she led you guys to the living room couch. "Oh! I dropped my phone and she offered to buy me a new one and so she did and bought me other things from the Apple Store. Then I had a little panic attack but she helped a lot then took me out for lunch then we went shopping. Can you believe all she had to do was walk in and the stores would stay open for us? She then offered to do this again and she's seeing me again tomorrow." You rambled.
Taking a deep breath, you calmed yourself down and looked to your friends who were still in shock. "Dude, she basically asked you to be her sugar baby." Now, you were a little confused. "What's that?" You asked.  "In hindsight, you get paid by someone to spend time with them and in return, they spoil you with whatever you want." Leilani explained, causing you to stay silent.
Would that be a problem for Shuri if anyone found out?
"Anyways! Let's go choose an outfit for you! Did she say you could be comfortable?" Justine stood up and questioned. "She just said to be myself and wear whatever I want." You answered making their smiles grow larger.
-
Adding the glue to your false eyelashes, Leilani gently stuck the natural-looking minks on. Opening your eyes, you looked at yourself in the mirror, you admired what you saw. It was still your face, just with a little makeup on, the girls giving you a natural look. Your hair was styled so beautifully, Leilani creating the long braid effortlessly with two curls in front of your face.
The dark green khaki mini skirt was pleated with ease, the colour scheme working nicely as your white knit sweater looked effortlessly put together with platform Rick Owen sneakers gracing your feet. The Dior earrings were exposed due to your hairstyle which also didn't hide the cuban link you had on. You loved Shuri's one so she decided to get you your own.
"Ah! You look so pretty!" Justine complimented you and you had the biggest grin on your face. You felt beautiful and that made you happy. Just the whole day had you feeling amazing. After bonding with your friends and them fawning over your clothes and your new lifestyle, you went back home empty handed and said to your parents that you went to the library and they believed you. You finally lied to them and it felt good. Doesn't mean you're going to did it all the time but it felt good.
This morning, they had decided to leave the house to you for the weekend as they're leaving for a church event and they knew you had a paper due soon (that you've already completed). You immediately informed your friends and they made it their mission to get you ready for tonight.
Picking up your new phone from Leilani's vanity, you noticed a notification from Shuri and that she was 10 minutes away from your location however she sent that message ten minutes ago. Your eyes widened and you rushed to look outside the bedroom window to see a g wagon and Shuri leaning against it. The panther could feel you looking at her from the window and she smiled at you, making you squeal as you grabbed your mini Lady Dior bag.
Before opening the front door, you looked back to your friends to give them both hugs as goodbyes before making your way out of the door to meet Shuri. Leilani shouted her supportive words as she leaned on her porch, as if she's watching her child leave to go on a date.
"Hiii!" You elongated the greeting towards the panther who sported a toothy grin, reaching her hand out to you to be held. Observing her, you noticed you both went a familiar route with your outfit. Shuri looked casual with a red Diesel sweater and black cargo, finished off with red nike dunks. You noticed that you both wore the chain and it made your heart jump. "Hello Y/n. Did you say bye to your friends?" She asked and you nodded. She nodded as well and opened the car door for you, struggling to get into the large car and eventually using the step of the car.
The trip to your destination was unfamiliar however, Shuri was dedicated to making you feel comfortable and decided to play a bit of music but kept it soft enough to keep conversation with you. Driving into the entrance of the restaurant, you were absolutely mesmerised by the exterior of it all. It looked like an luxury hotel with a valet in front and you were so excited to even step foot in such a place. Putting your focus back in front of you, a forest green Rolls Royce Cullinan entered your vision and you were absolutely stunned, looking to Shuri who was smiling at your reaction.
"Remember I was talking about it yesterday? I didn't think it existed! It's so pretty!" You gushed at the car once again. Shuri had noticed your fascination with cars as you spent the afternoon with her yesterday and how you had pointed out the Cullinan because of its stature and its design. You also pointed out that you knew how to drive but your parents basically forbid you from driving in case you ever thought of leaving them. Shuri kept the information and changed the subject as she noticed your mood change at the subject of your living situation.
"I wonder if the owner just bought it because it looks brand new." You thought out loud, seeing the car reverse-park into the space next to Shuri's g wagon. You wondered why she didn't use the valet workers to park the car but you brushed it off as she helped you out of the car.
"Is this a contract?" You asked after you swallowed the last of your pasta al forno. Shuri nodded before speaking. "It's to set rules for this arrangement before we continue with it. Just read through it then tell me what you think." She said, taking a sip of her cocktail as she looked at you. Although you had changed your look for this date, she found you absolutely stunning. She adored how your eyes lit up at anything that interested you and how you took a deep breath whenever entering a new place as if you're reassuring yourself that you're actually doing something. And your smile. How she wished she could engrave the image of your smile in her mind. It lit up every room you walked and it made Shuri's heart melt everytime. How you cling to her arm at the slightest stare people give you two as if you feel safe with her and she loved it. She hadn't told anyone about you as if you were too good to be true.
You leaned your head closer to the single piece of paper, reading every word in your mind unless you had questions for her. " 'According to your availability, you can accompany me to Wakanda and possibly any other event.' Are you sure?" You asked the panther. She placed her fork down and nodded. "You could ask anytime to join me and I will fly you out if you're not with me. However, you won't be using any airplanes most of the time." Shuri stated and the sheer thought of travelling with her made you rub your thighs together. Just being around her made you feel things you've never felt before and you needed some sort of release.
Reading over the financial aspect of the contract, it stated that you would be getting your own bank account and on each meeting you have with her, you would get ten thousand dollars every single time. You audibly gasped when you read that. Lifting your head to make eye contact with Shuri, she gave you the smallest smirk, clearly amused by your stunned expression.
"What's wrong, sthandwa?" She asked, "Is it too little? We can discuss the price." The royal suggested, knowing all too well what she was doing. "Too litt- Your majesty, this is way more than enough. What am I gonna do with so much?" You pondered, continuously looking back at the contract in front of you.
"Whatever your heart desires. And please, don't be afraid to ask me for anything that you want. I want to do this for you, okay?" Shuri held her hand out to you on the table and you hurriedly put yours on top. You couldn't come up with any words for her. This was something that could happen in your wildest dreams and it was right in front of you.
"Read the rest of the contract then let me know your thoughts." Shuri took a sip of her drink again and you couldn't help but looking at her throat as the drink went down. Everything about Shuri right now made your body tingle however you couldn't voice that to her, you didn't want to think of her touching you yet or how your underwear was getting damp at the thought of her caressing your body with her tattooed hands.
"Y/n?" Shuri called out to you. You perked your head up once again. "Huh? Oh! T-the contract yes" You stuttered, internally panicking that she caught you zoned out. You could only imagine what she would say if she knew what you were thinking about.
"Are you okay, entle? Are you nervous?" When asking the second question, Shuri's tone dropped slightly, giving you shivers down your spine. Shaking your head at her and deciding to focus on the paper in front of you, it shows that you've reached the physical section of it. The contract stated that there would be sexual contact within the arrangement but only when you are comfortable enough to begin with it. Reading the sentence caused your face to heat up more than before and it caught the attention of Shuri who just smirked to herself. It had also stated that if it there were to be any romantic feelings involved, to not be afraid to act upon them. "Romantic?" You muttered. "It's normal for people to gain a romantic connection. If it so happens within this arrangement, there won't be an issue." Shuri answered. You took in her words and felt a pull in your stomach that felt pleasurable.
"I see you're near the end. Would you like me to adjust anything for you?" She asked, batting her pretty eyes at you as if she wasn't the cause of your lower body...issues. You gave a slight nod. "Um, I know i-i'll be comfortable with it but I only have one question for you. Is it okay if someone like...you were to have an arrangement with me like this?" You pondered. Was this even allowed?
"Y/n. As much as I don't want to sound like a narcissist, I am the queen of Wakanda and I'm allowed to have my own fun at times." Shuri expressed to you. All you could do was nod at the panther's words of subtle cockiness. You had more that you wanted to say but your body betrayed you as you released the slightest of a whimper. You were holding the hem of your skirt tightly, avoiding all eye contact with Shuri as you were filled with embarrassment.
Shuri looked at you with amusement, seeing you folding so quickly at her words. As much as she wanted to take you right then and there, she refrained because she knew she had a surprise planned for you. "Look at you, all flustered. Just from my words, nkosazana?" Shuri commented, leaning against the chair as she observed you.
She couldn't wait any longer. She needed to do something for you, anything to see you all over her. Calling her name out loud when you-
"Come with me, baby. I have something for you." The panther rose to her feet, going over to your side of the table to help you up. Keeping the eye contact between the two of you, she took your hand and began to lead you out of the private seating of the restaurant.
"Wait Shuri. What about dinner?" You looked back at the table to see your empty plates left there. "I had already payed for everything before I picked you up." She commented, giving a nod and smile to the waiter who entered the section to clear out the table. People in the restaurant weren't afraid to stare at the royal and the girl with her but seeing Shuri hold herself up with confidence was the hottest thing you've ever seen, her giving acknowledgment to the employees only.
Walking out of the restaurant and onto the walkway to the parking lot, she wrapped her arm around you to keep you as close to her as she could. Reaching her G-wagon, you grew confused as you turned to her only for her to have an object in her hand that wasn't there before.
You looked at the beautiful Rolls Royce once again, seeing the RR statue lift from the hood of the car. The car's lights blinked once and you were a little scared that the owner of the car would see two people just standing in front of it. Shuri took your hand again and placed the object in your hand, looking down to see car keys with the logo of the forest green beauty.
Realising what was going on, you snapped your head towards the royal who had the most beautiful smile on her face as she watched your reaction to her gift. "You got me my dream car?" You whispered as you stepped closer to her, inhaling her addicting scent.
"For when I'm not around and you just feel like getting out of the house." Shuri said, looking into your eyes seeing the slightest hint of tears brimming. You wrapped your arms around her waist, bringing her even closer to you. She reciprocated the hug and it was a silent moment between the two of you, something that will never be forgotten.
She lightly tapped your lower back, causing you to lift your head to look up at her without letting go of the hug. "Let's go see inside. I added a few touches to make it special for you." Shuri mentioned, turning both of your bodies towards the car whilst keeping her arm around you. "Thank you." You whispered to her and leaned close her face to give a kiss on the cheek, already missing the feeling of your lips.
Running towards your brand new car, you opened the driver's door and hopped in with the door closing by itself. The seat was adjusted for you and you held onto the steering wheel with the silver stitching. Looking across the dashboard, it was as if marble had been placed there above the compartment area. Studying the seats, they had the same stitching as the steering wheel and the seat head had your name in cursive instead of the classic RR. The backseat of the vehicle had two gifts, one from Hermes and one from cartier with the prettiest bouquet of flowers behind them. Finally looking up the ceiling, you noticed the infamous stars on the ceiling. Looking at Shuri sitting comfortably in the passenger seat, you felt the feeling from the restaurant come back as you see Shuri gazing at you.
"Entle," She called out, with you responding with a hum as you looked anywhere else but at her piercing gaze. "Look at me." She commanded. Giving yourself the courage to, you met her eyes that had seemed to darken.
She patted her thigh, encouraging you to climb over to her side of the car. You lifted your legs over the middle of the car, hovering over the thigh she had tapped. Reaching for your hips, she held them and slowly brought you down to completely sit on her. You whimpered at the contact your core made with the material of her pants. "Do you want me to make you feel better?" She taunted, Shuri had gotten wrapped around her finger. She had barely touched you and you had only sat on yet you could feel your release as she spoke those words.
You hurriedly nodded, holding her shoulders for support to get you ready. "I need words, my love." "Yes, please Shuri." You pleaded. You were on the verge of tears at this point and the royal had barely lifted a finger. Dragging her hands up your thighs, they landed on your ass, slightly grabbing onto the flesh causing you to lean forward. The gaps erupted from you quickly as your underwear dampened even further.
Holding the space between your ass and your hips, Shuri slowly guided you as she rocked you back and forth making you release stutterted moans. "Let me hear, mama. I wanna hear that sweet voice." She praised, making the slick from your core travel onto her pants. "Oh my-" You cut yourself off, unable to form words when you felt her hand creep into your underwear, slowly massaging your clit.
"Please, panther." You moaned out, rocking a little more faster to chase your release. Shuri looked at your fucked out face as she lightly touched you. She began laying kisses on your exposed neck, careful to not make any marks. Kissing up your jaw until she reached your face, she looked at your parted lips before leaning in to bite your lower lip. You whined at the action, feeling the familiar pull in your stomach.
Finally placing her lips on yours, she gently guided you into the kiss, holding your face in her hands. You continued to chase your orgasm while focusing on the kiss. Occasionally pulling away to give you pecks, she kissed you again with you feeling the curls of her hair brush against your face. Indulging in her lips, Shuri sped up her movements on your clit as you felt your legs begin to slightly shake, knowing you were finally getting the release you've been craving.
Releasing a loud moan when your orgasm has washed over, you panted and looked at Shuri in a dazed state. "You did such a good job, sthandwa. C'mere." She praised once again, pushing you closer to her by the arch of your back. She pecked your lips then held your hips to keep you steady on her thigh.
"Are you up for lunch tomorrow?" She suggested and you nodded, blushing at the thought of what just transpired. "We leave for Paris in the late morning then." She finalised, making you widen your eyes. "What? Isn't Paris at least 16 hours away from here?" You asked the royal who seemed to find your confusion amusing.
"Now that you're with me, you'll experience things a little differently. France is a 3 hour flight on the Talon ship. And don't even bother packing, we'll buy things that side, okay?" Shuri smiled, seeing your stunned expression.
That's when you knew that your life had changed forever.
Bonus scene!
"Y/n! Get yo ass down here!" You heard your father's shrill voice scream at the top of his lungs. Rolling your eyes, you made your way downstairs holding the Hermes Kelly bag that Shuri had bought for you on your first date.
Hearing your mother gasp loudly as you ascended down the stairs was enough to suck the air out of the room. You looked down to your outfit and saw the reason for her dramatics. Your maxi dress had cut outs on the sides of it along with the plunging neckline showing off your chest. Not to mention the dress fitting your body tightly. The Burberry cap had covered the top of your head which held beautiful goddess braids.
Your parents had stayed at the church event and eventually travelled with the church for a few more days before coming home to find a Rolls Royce sitting in their driveway. Thinking that it was probably a neighbour, they had thought nothing of it, assuming you were at the library once again. Returning home at the crack ass of dawn from your spontaneous Paris trip with Shuri, you hadn't shown face to your parents until the next morning which is right now.
"Who's goddamn Rolls is that outside my house?! I asked that man across the street and he said it's not his. Why is it here?" He yelled out, noticing you hadn't flinched at his tone. Giving him a bored look, you answered. "It's mine. Now if you excuse me, I have to go somewhere." Walking towards the front door, you heard your mom screaming. "Who bought you such an expensive car and why the hell are you dressed like that, young lady?!"
Opening the door, you walked out and before closing it completely, "Someone will come pick up my things later on today. Bye!" You shut the door and ran to your car, immediately starting. Hearing your phone buzz as you begin to drive, you asked Siri to display it on your screen in the car.
Panther 🤍
How do you feel about coming to Wakanda with me? :)

Bad Idea, Right?

Warnings: alcohol consumption, implied cheating (kind of?), gender neutral!r but there is one use of the word “girl”, lmk if i should add more! :)
A/N: this fic is inspired by “bad idea, right?” by olivia rodrigo. this is my first fic so i’m sorry if it’s bad. enjoy!
part 2
The beat of the club’s music vibrated throughout your chest as you danced with your friends, the dim lighting making it hard for you to see anything but black silhouettes. This had been one of the only times you’d all been able to go out this month, your friend group having your own things going on. You were pretty tipsy at that point, having thrown back a couple of vodka shots reluctantly.
Despite the booming of the bass, you still felt your phone buzzing in your back pocket. You pulled it out, looking to see who was calling you. The words DO NOT ANSWER were plastered on your phone screen, the contact name you gave Melissa after you went to see her “just to catch up”. Before you had the chance to scurry off to the bathroom to answer the call, there was a hand on your elbow.
“Girl, do not answer that,” Your friend, Mira, warned, wearing a look of worriedness and sternness.
You watched the phone screen as it turned black, your stomach turned, “I’m just gonna tell her I’m busy…”
“You’re doing so good, babe. Don’t let all that work go to waste.” Mira was right, you hadn’t been alone with Melissa at all in the last month. You chewed on your bottom lip, contemplating. Would it really be that bad to call her back and tell her you’re busy?
“I’m just gonna call her back and tell her I’m busy, I swear.” You said, causing Mira to drop your arm and drop her with a look that said “are you serious right now?” She seemed like she wanted to say something but decided against it, instead just shrugging and turning back to the group reluctantly.
You pushed through a sweaty crowd of people to get to the bathroom. Once there, you opened your calling app. You chewed on your thumbnail, second-guessing yourself. This was practically a routine now, Melissa would call you and you would drop everything you were doing to go see her. The only reason the routine had stopped was because the last time you were there, Melissa had rudely woken you up in the morning by throwing your clothes at you. She told you Gary was coming over and you needed to either leave or pretend to be sleeping in her guest room.
Yes, she’s your ex and is actively talking to someone else, but she’s also your coworker. It’s good to be friendly with your coworkers. And besides, can’t two people reconnect?
With that, you clicked on Melissa’s contact and called her. You placed the phone to your ear, still nibbling on your thumbnail. The line rang for a total of two and times before you heard a quiet “hey”.
“Hi, I saw that you called.” You muttered around your nail.
“Yeah, I was gonna ask if you would wanna come over.” There was a beat of silence before she added, “I made some tiramisu for Barb and I have some leftovers.”
Tiramisu. You hadn’t had tiramisu since you and Melissa broke up. You had attempted to make it yourself one night, but you failed miserably. Melissa probably knew that.
“I don’t know, Mel. I don’t think we can keep doing this and I’m–” Before you could say that you’re out with friends, Melissa interrupted you.
“C’mon, hon. It’s just tiramisu, nothin’ else.” Her tone lowered in that way it did when she was trying to sound serious, it made you smile lightly. “Nothin’ else” usually meant Melissa would wait at least five minutes before she began trying to get you into bed, and she would often succeed.
“I’m tipsy.”
“Great, so am I. I’ll order you an Uber.”
You sighed, leaning your head against the bathroom wall. Here we go again.
“I’m… on the way.” With that, you told her where you were and said goodbye.
You went back out onto the dancefloor, finding your group and telling them goodbye, feigning illness. A chorus of “aww”’s and “we have to go out again soon”’s broke out in front of you while Mira looked at you disappointedly while shaking her head slowly. You shot her an apologetic smile and made your way to the exit. You stood outside the club, the late summer night breeze caressing your skin gently.
The ride to Melissa’s house was quiet, the Uber driver having the music set to a quiet volume. When the car pulled up to her neighbor’s driveway, you stepped out and thanked him. You waited until the car was out of your sight before walking down the road to Melissa’s house, just like she’s told you to. Due to the lack of clothing your clubbing outfit included, the once cool breeze made you shiver as you waited for Melissa to open the door.
She opened the door with a shit-eating grin on her face and a glass of wine, making you crack a smile and look down at your shoes. She sidestepped to let you inside, looking you up and down. You ignored her gaze and walked in, enjoying how her house always seemed to be set at the perfect temperature. You walked straight to her kitchen, telling yourself that you would only have a piece and take whatever leftovers she had.
“Did you get all dressed up for me?” She asked playfully, earning her a quick glare from you.
“No, I was out with some friends.” You answered, cutting a piece of tiramisu and setting it on the plate you had already gotten from the cabinet.
Melissa’s brows furrowed, “Oh, I didn’t mean to interrupt your gathering. I could’ve just brought you some on Monday.”
“No, don’t worry about it. I wasn’t having that much fun, anyway.” You and Melissa both knew that was a lie, when you were out with friends, especially Mira, it was damn near impossible to get you home. Even so, Melissa brushed it off and watched as you moved about the kitchen to get a fork before settling across from her at the island. There was a silence in the room as you ate your tiramisu, a sort of tense silence.
“Well, can I make it up to you? Barb recommended this really good red, so we can sit on the couch and have some wine.” She offered, you gripped your fork tighter.
You were about to tell her no, you really were, but then you looked up at her. She didn’t look different from the last time you saw her, which was yesterday, but your heart still skipped a beat when you looked into those green eyes. It’s like all higher-brain function had stopped abruptly, the voice of reason drowned out by a certain redhead’s voice. You tapped your fork against the plate and looked at your watch. It was still early. Just a glass of wine or two, then you’ll order an Uber and go home.
“Sure. But no funny business.” You pointed your fork at her with a playful smirk.
She raised her hands, “No funny business. Just wine to make up for your lost night.”
A glass of wine turned to two, and two turned into three, and before you knew it Melissa had you laid down on the couch while she kissed down your neck. In this now much more inebriated state, all you could focus on was how Melissa’s lips felt against your skin and how nice her perfume smelled. You felt Melissa’s hands begin fiddling with the button of your shorts and you snapped out of your haze. This is a bad idea, right? This is a seriously terrible, stupid, idiotic idea, right?
“Melissa,” You breathed out. She pulled away from your neck, lifting herself to look at you. She looked breathtaking, her hair falling around her face, her lip gloss smudged, her cheeks lightly flushed from the wine and the makeout session you just shared.
“Yeah?” She asked, her voice just as breathless as yours. It made your heart jump.
Fuck it, it’s fine.
“Bedroom.”
She smirked at you, lifting off the couch and grabbing your hand to pull you with her. She leads you to her room, fingers intertwined. Tomorrow, you’ll be telling your friends that you just tripped and fell into her bed.

And they were Roommates (part 16)

The dark sheets surrounded you. Black hoodie keeping you warm. You felt cold. Freezing. Riley was laying on top of the covers, close to your body, head turned to the door in a protective stand. He had not left your side for a single minute.
You had remained on the floor for a good hour, pain crashing over you, Riley remaining close to you. Once you had felt empty. You had climbed your way up, into his room. You could feel the tears burn your eyes again. Memories tearing you apart. You had grabbed one of his hoodies, slipping it over your head. You had gotten into his bed, and you cried.
You hadn't slept for a minute. You wish you could, maybe the pain would be more bearable. You had gotten up around 3 am, just to make sure Riley could go to the bathroom. The poor pup was determined to remain close to you. Somehow, you wondered if he had felt like this. If he had to bear the same pain when he had seen his soldier die.
You made sure to cuddle him once you had gotten back to bed.
Your phone was quiet for a few hours before morning hit. Around 7 am, it buzzed and rang repeatedly. You had turned it off. You closed your eyes. You felt tired, exhausted. The heaviness of the covers, the warmth of Riley made you almost fall asleep. Unfortunately for you, the doorbell rang.
Once. You ignored it.
Twice. You closed your eyes, the threat of another fit of cries dangerously close.
Three times. You put a pillow over your head.
Four times, someone bangs on the door. Riley growls.
Five times, more intense.
You groaned, horribly irritated. Pain mixing with anger. You threw the pillow back down, reluctantly getting up. It took a second, your mind dizzy. Yes. You were exhausted.
Riley followed you closely down the stairs. Now the repeated ringing and knocking was just making you furious. You flew the door open, once you reached the front door.
Worried faces stared at you. Kate. Melissa. Bishop. Coyote. They just stared. You probably looked awful. Red puffy eyes. Pale. It didn't matter. You stepped back inside, Riley shadowing you. You heard them walk in too. Heading to the kitchen for a glass of water, you started to hear their voices.
"Y/N…" bishop started.
You ignored it. You couldn't, you didn't want to, you didn't need it. This conversation. No. You needed him. Just him. And Price. You needed them both back.
The cold liquid sliding down your throat made you shiver. Did you have a fever? You were.. so.. cold. Riley grabbed your attention. He looked at you intensely. You followed him. He made sure you watched as he took a few pieces of food into his mouth and munched on it. You smiled at him. His tail wagged a bit, expectantly. He grabbed another bite. It hit you. He was trying to get another excited reaction from you. He was eating. Because it made you happy to see him eat. And right now. He wanted to see you happy.
You broke down again. You did, kneeling down to him, hugging the pup while you let out a broken cry. The girls were quick to move, running to you. They crouched down next to you, surrounding you with hugs. You didn't want this. You wanted to be alone. You shook them off softly, looking down at Riley.
"Good boy… you're a good boy…" you praised, petting him and dropping kisses to his head.
His tail wagged again as he grabbed a few more bites.
"Y/N…" Kate asked.
You shook your head.
"Darling… please…" Melissa asked.
You shook your head again.
"Soap, gaz… and Konig want to talk to you." Bishop said.
You stopped for a minute. They must be as broken as you. They lost them too. You took a deep breath.
"Alright…" your broken voice managed to produce. "After Riley is done eating."
So you sat next to him. On the kitchen floor. You praised him everytime he ate, trying to show your happiest emotions you could at the moment. You were proud of him. He was fighting. He had accepted to fight. You wondered if he realized you were as broken as him now. If he had found someone he could trust because that someone knows the hurt he had gone through.
Once he was done, you had gotten up, making sure to take his food with you. You had no intention to remain on base more than necessary but if he would eat again that would be amazing.
"Let's go." You said.
You headed for the garage, grabbing the keys of the black jeep.
"Wait. Y/N. You shouldn't be driving-" Kate tried.
"I will be taking his car. Me and Riley." You stated firmly. Leaving absolutely no room for discussion.
You continued your way to the garage. You felt a ping of guilt for the way you were treating them. They were trying to be here for you. But right now. You simply couldn't.
You opened the car, letting Riley into the passenger seat. Your head turned to the side, eyes meeting the black bike. You lost yourself in flashbacks. Wind, helmets, touches, kisses… passion. Love. You closed your eyes, turning your head away. You blinked your eyes open, trying to erase the new watery feeling again. You climbed into the driver's seat, taking a deep breath.
"Let's go my Riley…"
The ride to base was first filled with silence. But then you turned on the radio halfway through. You couldn't bear the silence right now. You parked in front of the IT building. You stopped the car. You watched the windows and the people. It took a few deep breaths before filanny opening the car door and stepping out. Riley didn't wait and simply jumped to the driver's seat to follow you out of the car.
The door closed, capturing a lot of attention. You could feel the stares. The sad stares. But you walked to the door, black dog in tow. You blocked out the world as you walked through hallways and stairs to the room. You had lost track of the girls, they were probably already here. You honestly did take a few more turns than necessary, dreading having to be on base. Walking into the room, everyone fell quiet.
"Get to work." You simply reminded.
You walked to your PC Riley sitting back to you, guarding you. You pet him.
"We'll have the connection ready in a few minutes." Kate announced.
You nodded, turning to your screen. You were there. Might as well work a bit. Terrible choice. You fell upon another picture. Dog tags lined up. Trophies. You felt dizzy again, breath quickening. Riley whined, turning to you and capturing the girl's attention. They ran to your screen.
You weren't reading. You weren't, you blocked it out. It would kill you to see their names. You closed it immediately. The girls only managed to take a glimpse of it.
"Sparrow…" Melissa called.
"I'm… it's…" you tried.
Ok? Fine? It wasn't. It was a lie. It was horrible. It was not fine, or ok, it was torture.
"Connection is ready." Someone called in a soft voice.
You got up, heading towards the usual screen. You felt your heart break at the sight of Konig, gaz, Grim, Áquila and Carkeys.
"Hey…" Grim tried.
"Hey…" you answered back.
"I am… so sorry…" gaz started.
"Me too. I'm sorry." You let out.
You frowned a bit.
"Where's soap?" You asked.
"Hum…" he looked away. "He… he's having a harder time than us right now…"
You nodded softly. You now noticed the girls behind you.
"What's the plan now?" You asked.
"Two options. They get ready for another extraction. Or they stay on field and catch the other cartel responsible for the ambush." Kate explained.
"We've already chosen." The heavy accent answered. Konig looked determined. Gaz too.
"You're staying…" you understood.
They nodded. You took a deep breath. Hopkins had walked into the room now. He had walked to you, leaving a little space.
"Hopkins." You called. "I'm heading to the field. Get my departure ready."
"What? Wait…" Kate tried.
"No. Wait. You can't come here… if LT knew-" gaz froze. The call blurred for a second.
"But he's not here… not anymore." You said. "I'm on my way."
"I can't allow that." Hopkins answered.
"I'm not asking for permission. I'm telling you." You warned. Your voice found a new strength.
"I forbid you." He said more sternly.
"You don't forbid me shit." You snapped. "I'm going on the field. With. Or without your help. The only difference is that once I come back, and the higher ups want to fire you, you'll either have my help to keep your job or you won't." You threatened.
You were now incredibly aware of the silence in the room.
"We'll be going with her." Coyote said.
"Melissa is staying." You said.
She frowned, ready to say something.
"Please. Amy needs her mom. And I lost too much already." You tried to argue.
She looked pained for a second, but nodded.
"I'll be going as well." Kate added.
You looked at her.
"Thank you…"
She nodded. Hopkins looked at you like you had all gone crazy.
"This is insane. I can't." He said.
"You can. And you will." You added back.
He looked agitated for a second. Probably trying to figure out what to do.
"We'll be waiting for you." Konig finally said.
The call ended. You looked at the black screen. Your reflection was almost pitiful.
"Go home. Rest. Get ready. I'll text you the departure day and time." Kate announced.
"I still haven't-" Hopkins interupted.
"You don't have to. If you have a problem. Call your superiors." You snapped again.
You stood up Riley following you. The girls headed out as well.
You had showered and started preparing a bag. Multiple gear, many equipements. Riley was laying on top of your bed, watching you. You had taken a few clothes from.. Simon. You needed them. You really wanted them. You thought about giving one away to Soap. To help him too.
Sighing, you looked around. Your head was just buzzing. You should eat something. At least a snack. You looked around, eyes passing over Riley's harness. You grabbed it, walking to him. He looked at you, ears perked up.
"You're coming with me. Because I'm not leaving you behind. But this." You let him sniff it. "This only gets put on if you want it. You do not have to go on the field." You pet him, making sure to drop a few extra kisses on top of his head.
You made sure to put Reaper in your bag as well before heading down stairs to eat.
When Kate had asked you to rest, you had expected to be able to take more than 10 minutes. Unfortunately it wasn't the case. Emergency meetings, phone calls, you had to pretty much snap at some of the highest military men in the country if not, the world. But in the end. You get what you want. Always.
You were due for the next morning. Everything was prepared. Bishop, coyote and Kate were ready as well.
You sat down in the living room that night. The tv's sound didn't seem enough to stop the silence. Riley cuddled with you. You felt the tears running down your cheeks again. It felt like the sound of his laugh echoed through the walls. The way he scolded soap or gaz. The games with everyone.
No. You needed to sleep. You really needed to. You stood up, Riley following you. You headed for his room again. You didn't think you'd ever want to leave the room from now on. But other people needed you. People who lost them too.
You slipped under the covers, Riley jumping on the bed, laying close to your body head towards the door. The words almost pained you. For a second you wished you were saying to both of them, but only one would ever be able to hear them again.
"Good night… Riley."
The next morning you woke up. Phone ringing. Kate was making sure everyone was up and ready. She had a car picking you and Riley up with your stuff. Of course you made sure the vet, sweet Dr Jenkins got everything for Riley. Food, vitamins and treats. You had indeed talked to Hopkins and Kate about her and made sure she walked straight from now on.
The plane ride was long, it made you even more tired, the girls seemed to simply roam around the plane while you sat with Riley. You nodded off for a few hours, Riley made you feel incredibly safe. Finally arriving on the base in Mexico, the plane opened to warm weather. You were the last to step out of the plane. Riley close behind. You were tackled in a hug before even realizing what was happening. Riley growled next to you, immediately getting agitated.
"Riley, down. It's ok." You ordered softly.
You were up in someone's arms, feet no longer touching the ground. Arms wrapped around his neck. The mohawk visible.
"I'm sorry.. I'm so sorry…" he apologized repeatedly, bringing tears to your eyes.
"No… it's not your fault Johnny… I'm sorry…" you comforted.
He finally dropped you down. You noticed the tears, the sniffle. You grabbed his face in your hands, making him look at you. After so long. You had started to see him as a brother. It made you feel so sad to see him like this.
"Johnny. It's not. Your fault." You told him.
He nodded, tearing up a bit more. He wiped his tears, smiling a bit. He looked down at the big dog next to you.
"So… that's Riley?" He asked.
"Yeah… you can pet him. He's nice." You said.
"He just growled at me…" he teased.
"He's very protective… a common trait amongst Riley's apparently…" you tried.
He snickered. He showed his hand to the dog who looked at you. You pet his head, showing there was no need to feel threatened. He sniffed Soap's hand before letting him pet him.
"Princesa…"
You looked up at the sound.
"Alejandro." You greeted.
He nodded. Gaz and Konig showed up as well with the rest of the team. You had received hugs from everyone. It made you suffocate a bit but you breathed through it. You stepped into their car, Riley next to you in the back. One of Alejandro's men tried to sit next to you, making Riley growl at him. Soap immediately took the spot next to you instead.
The ride home you remained silent listening to their conversation, Soap throwing a few glances at you. Once at their base, you stepped out of the car following them inside.
Soap showed you 'your room'.
"It was… Simon's one. If you're uncomfortable-"
"Thank you." You threw a little smile at him.
You grabbed into your bag, getting one of the hoodies out and walked over to him.
"You should have it…"
He looked down at it. You saw him tear up a bit again, but he thanked you, hugging you one more time before leaving you to rest.
You slept a few hours before going back to the team.
"You good?" Gaz asked..
You shrugged. You stopped in front of a table the group surrounded. Car-Keys and Grim sitting in front of laptops while the others stood.
"What do we got?" You asked.
"We have managed to quickly find the base the cartel is in. Not too far from the extraction point." Grim explained.
"We're ready to start a reckon and then get there." Alejandro added.
"We assume this cartel had something to protect. They probably felt threatened by the extraction nearby and decided to attack." Grim kept explaining.
"Intel?" You asked.
"Very probably." Kate answered.
"There's probably a whole bunch of stuff there." Car keys said, munching on something.
"But, this means the extraction…" Kate frowned.
"Was compromised." Aquila said, gaining everyone's attention. "The extraction point should have been secured. The cartel nearby should have been seen and the point moved."
"Someone fucked up." Soap concluded.
"We'll take care of that later." You nodded. "Right now, we get these assholes. Bishop, Kate and I will go on field with you. We aim for Intel."
They nodded.
"What? You can't go on the field!" Soap countered.
"Soap… I'm not good but I was trained. I can't fight like you guys but I know how to hide and escape. It's enough to get Intel while you guys get the cartel." You said.
"What if something happens…" Konig asked.
"It won't." You assured. "Not this time."
Silence fell for a bit.
"Alright. Let's start planning." Alejandro said, leaning forward on the table pointing at the map of the area.
After the briefing, everyone went to rest, getting mentally ready. You had stayed in the common areas, going through the Intel's on the laptops. Soap had walked in, sitting next to you.
"Are you holding up?" He asked.
"No?" You said with a small smile.
"I'm sorry…" he said.
"We had plans…" you said. He stayed silent, listening to you. "I told him… before he left… the house… next to yours so we could have game nights… a dog…" you snickered.
You felt your lip shake. "We had plans…" you repeated in a whisper. "And… this isn't fair…"
"You're angry. I know." He said.
"I'm furious. I'm in pain. Johnny…" he looked at you. "I see the way you look at bishop-... Margo." He looked away, hand rubbing the back of his neck. "Please. Don't let it happen to you too…" he froze. "Don't waste time. Don't waste it because… then things happen… and you never get to see your plans happen." You said, a tear running down your cheek.
His hand immediately rushed to wipe it away, making you look at him.
"You aren't alone. They're gone. But we're here. We aren't going anywhere." He tried to comfort.
"Oh… I know." You chuckled a bit darkly. "I'm not letting anyone take you away from me." You assured yourself while looking at your screen. He nodded in your peripheral vision before raising to his feet. He dropped a kiss on top of your head before walking away.
You looked at Riley laying next to you. It wasn't fair. None of this was fair. And you wanted to scream to the world you wanted to just yell at how unfair this was. You'd defeat the gods, you'd beg Hades like Orfeo did, for a single chance to get them back. If you could simply walk amongst the underworld, never looking back until you reached its doors, you'd make yourself blind just to make sure you could get them here.
You closed your eyes, sighing. You needed to sleep. You needed to. Once on the field, you needed to be aware of the situation. You needed to be safe and protect the squad. You decided to get to sleep. You had gods to fight.
The next morning the base was buzzing. Everyone was getting ready, setting up their gear. You were also getting ready, making sure you had what you needed to collect Intel. Riley had walked up to you harness in his mouth.
"Baby… you sure about this ?" You looked worried.
He poked you with his nose. You smiled.
"Alright…"
You had put on his harness, and a vest, he had switched to a very protective mode, you didn't even think it was possible. Once everyone was ready, a last briefing took place.
"Sparrow. Last chance to stay." Alejandro warned.
"Don't make me smack you." You warned back.
A few chuckled here and there and you headed to the humvees. You were truly not used to wearing a bulletproof vest. The black technical gear was ok but the heaviness of the vest was not comfortable at all. Riley remained at your leg at all times, jumping into the humvee with you. You tried to keep your nerves at a level you could manage.
"Sparrow, you stay close to us." Alejandro reminded.
You rolled your eyes but agreed.
Grim, Carkeys and Coyote we're keeping track from back at the base. Some were controlling drones, others were satelites. You looked down at Riley.
"There's nothing for a dog's ears? For the noise?" You asked.
"Hum… I don't think so…" gaz answered.
You frowned. You pet Riley.
"Alright. You stay. Close." Soap said once more before the humvee came to a stop.
"Yeah sure." You jumped out.
The team close to you, Riley at your leg. You followed, making sure to follow every order from Alejandro. You also made sure to order Grim, coyote and Car Keys through the comms. The first sounds of gunfire made you jump. You had already been on field, but only a few times. This wasn't your comfort zone.
You remained close to Soap and Konig. The blood. The deaths. You could handle it. It was still horrible and still made you nauseous… unfortunately, death had become an old friend. Time seemed to stretch, seconds felt like minutes. You moved forward, the boys clearing the way. The base was surrounded by smaller buildings, probably an old village they had captured. You had stepped around the corner when a man appeared. Riley didn't hesitate to jump on him. Konig ran to finish him.
You blinked.
"You ok?" Konig asked.
You wanted to yell no. The sudden realization that Riley could get hurt protecting you made you want to throw up… maybe it was the blood on Konig's knife too. You nodded, Riley ran back to you. Konig kept going forward, Soap not too far. You finally reached the base, the sound of gunfire was still too loud for your ears. Alejandro was already in with Rudy and Laswell. You followed through, backed up by another team. The sound now echoed in the walls and it was deafening. The headache was a sure thing once this was over.
You were torn between fear, anxiety and full on anger and rage. They killed them. Killed him. And you wanted them to pay. The way was almost clear. The first floor was completely raided. Half of the team went up, probably going after the cartel's boss. You on the other side, had noticed a door, further away to the side, hidden in the shadow. You had started to step towards it when a hand stopped. You turned to an absolutely half horrified half worried face.
"No. You don't saunter away." Soap said.
"I… i'm not. But look, that door." You said stepping closer to him, silently comforting him that you weren't going to run off somewhere.
"Gaz! Konig!" He called before turning back to you. "Stay behind me." He ordered.
You nodded. Soap walked towards it, in position. You were behind.
"Riley, stay next to me." You called.
He looked at you before stepping closer to your leg. Soap opened the door, gaz passing by you to back him up as Konig remained behind you. The door led down into a room, a row of stairs going down. Gaz turned to his radio, signaling their position. They headed straight down the stairs, now fully underground.  Only the sound of the gunfire upstairs rang in a muffled echo. You frowned taking in the surroundings.
It was cold but mostly humid. A hallway stretched itself with a few doors on either side of it. You stopped towards one when a hand wrapped around your waist to lift you up, pulling you back in the squad. You turned to look at Konig as he put you down. If one thing was sure, Konig was a different person on the field. His eyes were determined, cold. You decided not to go against it. Soap threw a side glance at you to warn you again.
Suddenly someone appeared from one of the doors, gun pointed towards you. The boys were quick to react, shooting him down. You let out a shaky breath. Now it was time to check every door. The first one opened, it was empty. Second, a man was inside, chained. He looked scared, Spanish words running past his lips.
"Wait… that's one of Alejandro's men!" Gaz said.
Cold flash ran through you. You rushed out, the boys yelling after you. You opened another door and another soldier chained.
You ran again, the boys kept calling your name. Another door.
Riley growled. That's what you heard. Because you didn't anticipate being grabbed and thrown against a wall, a body keeping you there. You needed a second before realizing what was happening. Tears filled your eyes.
"DAD!!" You let out in a broken cry.
Price's eyes opened wide. You pushed away his hands that were holding onto your vest to take him in your arms.
He wrapped them around you as the boys ran inside the room.
"Oh my fucking god!" Gaz let out.
"Captain!" Konig called happily.
"Boys! What is she doing here?" Price finally asked, confused.
"It's Y/N. Do we need more explanation?" Soap joked, hugging him too.
"Alright… alright… let's leave this for another time." He reminded everyone.
"Price…" you called again.
He turned to you.
"S..simon?" You asked. The hope in your eyes was visible.
"Y/N… I don't know. He was with me but… they took him." He said.
"Let's keep looking." Gaz said. "But this time you stay!" He scolded.
You nodded.
"Are you alright? Did I hurt you?" Price worried.
"I'm fine… I'm fine." You assured.
He was alive. He was alive. He was bruised, and had a few cuts. He… was tortured. The thought probably made you pale, because he noticed.
"Hey. Hey. Look at me. It's alright. It's alright."
You wanted to cry and hold onto him. But he dropped a kiss on your forehead. He gently pushed you forwards to follow Gaz and Soap as Konig handed him a gun. You kept walking, Riley alert next to you. Some of Alejandro's men had joined you, taking their teammates out to safety and joining in on the search.
Another door, empty. Another one, a soldier, dead. Your heart was stammering, almost cutting out the noise around you.  The last door opened. Soap was grabbed and pushed to the ground immediately. You passed by gaz watching the scene. Riley was ready to jump to protect him when you grabbed his harness holding him back.
The tattoo. The tattoo.
"SIMON!" You screamed.
He froze. He was on top of soap, fist in the air. Soap looked shocked.
"LT…" he let out.
"Soap…"
His voice. Fuck.. HIS VOICE. You let out a whimper. It caught his attention and he immediately turned to you, eyes wide in shock. He wasn't wearing his mask. They had taken his mask. He rushed up and jumped to you. You wrapped your arms around his neck, fully crying. He tried to shush you, hand caressing your hair. You were far gone. The relief you felt was overwhelming. He was here. He was here.
"Y/N… baby…"
His voice. His calling. Your name on his lips. You let go a bit, just to capture his lips. Fuck. His taste. Him. His lips. He groaned against your lips. He parted.
"What the fuck are you doing here…" he scolded.
"I'm saving my man." You answered in the same tone.
"She's too stubborn." Soap added as Gaz helped him up.
Konig grabbed a spare balaclava from his pocket in his vest, and handed it to him.
Simon grabbed it, nodding towards Konig before turning to soap, his arms still wrapped tightly around you.
"You ok?" He asked.
"Yeah yeah I'm fine. Nice reflex from you and captain…" he teased.
Simon frowned, turning to Price.
"Jumped on Sparrow… she's fine though…" price said apologetically.
You nodded away when Simon looked down at you. He then looked next to you.
"So we meet…"
Riley growled a bit.
"I think he's jealous…" you joked.
"Well… we're gonna have to share, buddy." He joked too.
"This is nice. But we should get out of here first." Gaz announced.
They nodded. Simon put on the balaclava before another soldier handed him a gun.
"Y/N-" he started.
"Stay close. I know!" You rolled your eyes.
He looked at you intensely.
"If you know, can you please do it?" Gaz said.
You looked away, feeling the stare of Simon burning through you.
"Let's go." Price ordered.
You followed, still in formation. Now one thing remained in your mind. They had seen his face. The comms rang, Alejandro warning that the cartel's boss was dead. Alright. Less threat. You had to get to their Intel. You had to make sure they had no proof of his face and they had no other information.
You had climbed up, back on the first floor. Alejandro and Laswell were shocked to see the two men. You took your chance to slip through their attention, Riley following you up. You tried to be careful, jumping over dead bodies, looking into rooms, making sure there was no one left. You were doing something stupid. Terribly stupid. But you needed to make sure. You turned on your comms into an empty channel.
"Richard." You called. "Car-Keys."
The static growled and a voice finally spoke.
"Sparrow? Any trouble?"
"No. I need help though."
"All ears."
You had finally walked into a room where various computers and electronics were. You quickly grabbed your bag, taking out flash drives and other things.
"I'm connecting to their equipment. Copy it for us and then delete it."
"Roger that."
"Really got that military code now." You snickered.
"What can I say, I know how to adapt."
You shook your head. You connected your own equipment.
"Got it. Give me a few minutes."
"Y/N."
You jumped, spinning around. Riley growled, mostly because of your reaction.
"Sparrow?! You ok?!" The comms rang.
"Hum yeah… just get the Intel." You turned it off.
He stepped to you. Furious.
"Simon-"
"I told you to stay close." His voice was dark.
"I.. I know but. I need their Intel."
He frowned.
"Why?"
"Because… you don't have your mask. I need to know if they took proof. If they shared it." You explained.
He sighed, lowering his forehead to yours.
"Don't do this. We need to get to safety. I can't lose you." He said.
"You can't lose me?" You chuckled bittersweetly. "I lost you… and I wished I died with you." His eyes widened. "And I'll be damned if I'd let anyone else try to take you from me."
He lifted his balaclava, trapping you in a heated kiss. You moaned against his lips.
"Si..mon.." you tried.
"You have not left my mind for a second. Do you understand?" He said, parting from you.
"Your eyes… your taste. Your smell, your fucking touch." He growled.
"Do you think it left my mind?" You countered. "I still can't believe you're here… Simon…" you whimpered.
"Hush baby… I'm here… I'm here with my bunny." He dropped kisses to your cheeks, your nose, the tears falling and wetting his lips. "I'm so sorry… I'm sorry I've put you through this."
You stopped him, making him frown.
"You didn't. They did." You said sternly.
"Got it." Your earpiece told you. You turned your coms back on.
"Ok. What you got?"
"Lots of stuff, too much to go through, good news, nothing's been shared, Grim is checking."
Simon didn't look away from you. He seemed mesmerized by you, like an eerie dream.
"What's more, they connected all their equipment to their central power system. Idiots could have blown themselves up with a simple DDOS."
You smirked.
"I got the Intel."
Simon nodded, pulling his mask back down. You got to work, taking back your things before putting your backpack on again.
"Let's go..stay close or I'm handcuffing you to Konig."
You gasped, shocked, but he pulled you with him. Riley followed, joining you as you met the others.
"You are… I don't even know what you are." Kate said, looking furious.
"Happy. Relieved. Thrilled? I don't know kate… perhaps lost in a god complex." You teased with a big smile.
She warmed up instantly.
"Good. Now let's go.”
Simon grabbed your wrist pulling you with him towards the exit behind the boys. He leant towards you, whispering to your ears only.
"Just so you know. I'm going to fuck the disobedience out of you, as soon as I can bunny."
You blushed, biting your lip. Everyone hurried back to the humvees, Riley getting in with you.
You turned to your comms.
"Car-Keys."
"Yep?"
"Blow it up."
"Really?! You're giving me permission?!"
"I'm ordering you. Check the drones, make sure we're far enough, and overheat the power system. I left a connection open."
"ROGER THAT." He answered excitedly.
"What are you saying?" Soap asked.
"Nothing." You smiled.
He frowned but quickly left it out. Soap finally decided to go for a hug and tackled Simon.
"Thought we lost you…" you heard.
Simon patted his back, hugging him back.
"Let's go sergeant."
Soap nodded, getting in the humvee with him. It roared as you started driving back to the base.
"I can't wait to have you home.." you whispered to him.
"I can't wait to be home with you…" he whispered back.
You smiled at him, eyes filling with relief again. He was here. He was safe, alive. Bruised and filled with cuts… but he was here. You felt dizzy again. Soap noticed.
"Are you alright?" He worried.
Simon's head snapped towards you.
"Y/N?"
"I'm.. I'm fine. Just tired. It's been a rollercoaster for the past few days. I'll rest once we're at base." You reassured them.
They nodded.
Far away, in the distance, a wrecking sound, an explosion was heard. Soap looked at you.
You simply smirked.

Linger, Chapter 1: She's So Mean
Tumblr media
Summary: From the moment you meet her, you can't stand Melissa Schemmenti.
Warnings: Strong Language
----
You’ve always been one to go above and beyond. Whether it was because you were truly an ambitious go-getter, or because it was actually rooted in a deep-seated fear of letting others down, who can say? What mattered was you were reliable. You did your best to stay organized and on top of things, despite the fact that you struggled with it. You thrived when it came to creative problem-solving. And you were never, ever late.
At least, that’s the mantra you repeated to yourself as you mentally practiced the apology you’d be giving Abbott Elementary’s principal. Glancing at the watch on your wrist as you burst through the front door, you curse under your breath. Arriving almost a full 45 minutes later than you were supposed to was not the way to make the first impression you wanted. You’d been a bundle of nerves the night before, prepping the following day’s lunch as much as possible. You’d made a concerted effort to get to bed at a decent hour, you’d laid out your “first day subbing at a new school” outfit, and you’d even set a few different alarms in order to prevent this exact situation.
It might have slipped your attention that the alarms you’d set were actually for the PM.
The surge of adrenaline when you’d seen 7:02 AM blinking back at you from the digital clock on your bedside table as you woke was more effective than any cup of coffee. You were barely finished dressing before you were out the front door with your shoulder bag in tow - hair piled in an unkempt mess on your head and makeup, socks, and half-prepped lunch forsaken in your haste.
Mercifully, most subs had pre-planned lessons to follow, so you didn’t have to worry about throwing off your student’s schedules too much today. But seeing as this was your first day at Abbott, you weren’t familiar with the building layout. Even worse, you’d never met the principal, which means you have no idea what kind of reaction to expect in regard to your tardiness.
You knew students started to arrive at Abbott at 7:30 for an 8 o’clock start to the day, and you’d been instructed to arrive no later than 7:15. You looked up from your watch to get your bearings in the unfamiliar environment. Just up the hall from the doors you entered, you saw an office with glass walls and what looked like a check in area where there stood a tall, stunning black woman.
She was dressed stylishly, shockingly so for someone who works in an elementary school. A form-fitting olive green dress hugged her curves, which were emphasized by the large brown belt around her waist. Her hair was long and looked right from a salon, her nails meticulously cared for. She wore red lipstick and her eye makeup could easily be seen on the cover of a magazine. Her face was buried in her phone, so she hadn’t noticed you enter the building. You approached her, your hectic morning creating a distinctly frazzled air around you.
You felt silly and underdressed standing next to her, your normally put-together appearance ditched in favor of time. You silently thanked your past self for having the foresight to lay out your clothes for the day. Even still, your plain black work trousers, white button-down, and sneakers felt distinctly out of place next to this woman. As you stood there, she didn’t look up from her phone.
Unsure what else to do, after a moment you made yourself known by clearing your throat. Without looking up from her phone, a single, sculpted brow raised in question, followed by a short, “What do you want?”
Taken aback, you stuttered, “I-I, uh, I’m the principal- I mean, I’m looking for the principal.” You felt heat rising in your cheeks at your mistake. ‘Good one,’ you thought.
At least your slip-up gained you some ground. The woman lowered her phone and glanced at you, giving you a once-over from head to toe. “What do you want with the principal? If you’re here to complain about something, you’ll have to send it in an email or Instagram DM, she’s on vacation.”
Your heart dropped to your stomach - the principal wasn’t even here? You weren’t sure if Abbott had a vice principal. You were already late, you didn’t know where you were supposed to go, and you weren’t sure if the vaguely-unfriendly woman in front of you would be able to help.
“Oh, actually I’m a sub-” you started.
You were cut off by a loud, “Oh! Well, why didn’t you say so? Why are you dressed like a waiter?”
You frowned. She was right. You did look like a waiter.
You were stunned as the woman’s entire demeanor changed. A large smile graced her features as she held out her hand. “Ava Coleman, principal of Abbott Elementary.” You stared at the outstretched hand before taking it, your eyebrows furrowed.
“Wait, did you just lie to my face about being on vacation?”
“Usually when someone introduces themself, you’re supposed to do it back. Unless you’re like Leo DiCaprio levels of famous, obviously,” she prompts you, entirely ignoring your question.
You give her your name, overwhelmed by the whirlwind that has been this morning and the whiplash of the woman’s sudden change in attitude. “Nice to meet you,” Ava says with a glowing smile as she releases your hand. “You know you’re late, right?”
You nod, rubbing the back of your neck sheepishly. All things considered, Ava didn’t seem upset, or even remotely reprimanding, for that matter. She might as well have been asking about the weather she was so nonchalant. Having braced yourself for a lecture or a raised voice, you found yourself feeling just the slightest bit relieved. “I’m sorry about that. This isn’t… it’s not the norm for me, I promise. It won’t happen again.”
“Girl, I am not pressed,” Ava says, brushing off your apology with a wave of her hand. “At least you showed up at all. Trying to get a sub lately has been like trying to get Taylor Swift tickets - a whole lot of waiting just to find out there aren’t any left.” She gives a cheesy grin at her own joke, not waiting for you to react before continuing, “You’ll actually be with another teacher. Her aide has appendicitis, she’s out for at least the next week and a half.”
You were surprised, not unpleasantly so. You’d expected to have your own room, but there were plus sides to subbing in for teaching aides. “Oh, okay. That will be good actually, I can get a feel for things and watch how she runs her class, maybe ask her for pointers,” you state as you start to follow Ava down the hall.
Ava glances back at you, a look you can’t quite discern in her eye. “Uh, yeah,” she said, entirely unconvincing. “I’m sure she’d love to share pointers. She’s been a teacher here for a long time, so she does stuff a certain way.”
Ava’s words reignite some of the anxiety you’d felt starting to dissipate. You thought having another teacher to lead the class and watch would be a good thing, but Ava is making it seem like this teacher would be difficult. You’d had plenty of old, strict, mean teachers as a student. When you first started subbing, you’d met a teacher at another school who went through teaching aides like Duracell batteries. She’d been in the same school for well over 35 years, so it was essentially her way or the highway. She was so strict and particular, most people ended up taking the highway.
Ava stopped at a door on the right side of the hall, and as she pulled the door open, you heard a chorus of tiny voices say, “Good morning Miss Schemmenti!” At least you’d managed to make it before any actual instruction began.
Popping her head in the room, you heard Ava say, “Melissa, you got a sub today.” A ripple of ‘oohs’ and giggles spread throughout the class. Kids were always interested in a new face.
“Oh really?” came a dulcet voice with the strongest Philly accent you’d heard in a minute. It was tinged with incredulity and annoyance. “A sub who can’t be bothered to show up on time?”
Your stomach churned with anxiety and shame, but you felt a slight spike of annoyance as well. You suppose you couldn’t blame her, but you hadn’t even met this woman yet. You pushed these feelings aside as best you could as Ava replied, “You’re lucky you got a sub at all girl. I didn’t have to put her in your class. You’re welcome!” Stepping aside, she gestures you into the room.
The first thing you notice is the sheer amount of kids crammed into one room. There’s a division in the center and one side seems to be slightly older. The confusion must be evident on your face, because Ava chimes in, “We lost a third-grade teacher last minute and we couldn’t afford another one, so we combined a second and third grade class. You get two for one! I love a good deal myself.” Her joke doesn’t land.
Two grades in one room was really unconventional. How could both classes be receiving the right instruction? You couldn’t wrap your brain around it. Either the second graders had to be feeling left behind, or the third graders were learning the same things they’d learned last year. Not to mention the number of kids presented a challenge itself. ‘There have to be close to thirty kids in this room!’ you thought.
The velvety voice from before chimed in, “You could at least try not to look overwhelmed. Jeez, how old are you anyway, kid? I’m not gonna be able to tell the difference between you and the students.” Some small giggles echoed around the room as you turned.
Whatever you had been expecting, this woman was not it. ‘Is everyone working in this school hot?’ you grimaced to yourself as your eyes took in the gorgeous red-headed woman who stood before you. She was older, which in your mind only enhanced her beauty. She was a few inches taller than you, although you noticed the heeled boots she wore. Her deep red hair was luscious, with soft waves begging to have fingers combed through them. A single eyebrow was raised and a decidedly unimpressed expression graced her face, a dusky rose color painting her pursed cupid's bow lips. Her nose was soft yet prominent - it suited her immensely. Her eyes were slightly close-set, a captivating green-hazel color. They were rimmed with a subtle smokey shadow that made them pop.
She had on a long-sleeved black shirt and a few necklaces decorated her collarbones. But what caught your attention most were the leather pants that clung tightly to her soft hips.
You’d always been a sucker for a woman in leather.
“You gonna acknowledge me or not? Do I need to get you a copy of the lesson plan, or a coloring sheet?” She asked, hands on her cocked hips. Another ripple of giggles ricocheted throughout the room. Your cheeks flame with embarrassment. You were used to being teased about your height and young appearance by people you knew, not by strangers using it as a way to question your position at work.
Feeling a surge of indignation and annoyance, you opened your mouth before you could stop yourself and shot back, “I’m 28 years old - how old are you?”
A loud chorus of “Ooooh!” from the class, and in a split-second, you knew you’d fucked up.
A fire ignited behind Melissa’s eyes, her eyebrows coming together and her weight shifting forward. Her posture was rigid, coiled like a rattlesnake, ready to strike at any moment. Her nostrils flared as she bit out, “I’m none-of-your-business years old.” Her tone was dangerous and sharp. The class waited with bated breath to see what you’d do. Would the new sub start a fight with Miss Schemmenti? The tension in the air could be cut with a knife.
You heard, “Neither of you swing before I start recording!” from Ava.
Your heart was rattling inside your chest. ‘And I thought being late would be enough to make the wrong first impression.’ But you didn’t feel sorry for what you said. It wasn’t fair for her to be so critical. If she wanted to play the age card, then you’d meet her where she was at. She had no right to belittle you, even if you were less experienced.
You decided then and there that you didn’t like Melissa Schemmenti.
But you needed to get past this - you both had a class to teach, after all. Standing your ground, you managed to hold her gaze as you said evenly, “If you would be so kind as to point me to my desk? I believe we have a school day to start.” You were immensely proud that your voice didn’t tremble, despite the way your pulse thrummed in your ears.
Glaring at you for a moment longer, you knew you’d live to see another day when Melissa shifted her weight back again, arms folding across her chest. 'Her well-endowed chest,' you thought. You immediately chastised yourself. You needed to get a grip. This was your workplace and you should be keeping things professional, although that had almost gone out the window already. Even if she was alarmingly hot, she’d disrespected you without so much as a “hello.” The woman had been ready to tear you limb from limb a moment ago, and not in a sexy way.
Melissa tilted her head with a pointed look toward the back corner of the room, and you glanced over to see a small desk. You met her gaze once more and muttered a “Thank you.” But as you started to turn, you realized neither she nor the class knew your name. Stopping, you introduced yourself, instinctively holding out a hand.
It occurred to you how incredibly awkward it was to offer to shake the hand of the woman you’d just slighted, and you’re thankful you can write off the heat still lingering on your cheeks as your temper.
For a moment, she stared disdainfully at your proffered hand, but she sent a furtive glance toward the class and a look of realization passed over her face - her students had been watching all of this unfold. Maybe she wanted to set a good example, or maybe she just wanted to move on, but she took your hand begrudgingly. Her grip was a bit too tight. “Miss Schemmenti,” she said, and you noted the lack of a first name. Her teeth were gritted behind a strained smile. The flash in her eyes made the message clear. You are not on my good side.
Ava made a disapproving sound. “Man, I thought I was gonna get something good,” she said, and you caught the light glinting off of what you suspect was her phone camera as she turned and walked away.
You released Melissa's hand and retreated to the back of the room. As you deposited your things on what was now your desk, Melissa began, “Alright my little cannolis, enough dilly-dallying. Shawnte, will you please help me pass out these math sheets?” Her irritation was masked impeccably behind a practiced teacher's voice as she split a stack of papers with a small girl from the third-grade side of the room.
You exhaled deeply. It was only 8:15 and you’d managed to make your first enemy at Abbott. Unpacking your things, you found you couldn’t resist watching Melissa as she made her way around the room. You didn't consider yourself quick to anger, but somehow this woman had managed to piss you off in a matter of minutes. And you were supposed to spend at least the next week and a half with her?
As she passed by you, her eyes shot up and briefly made contact with yours. You felt the heat of her glare piercing into you. It seems she couldn’t resist another pointed comment on your tardiness. “Maybe tomorrow, you could get here on time and do your job, so I don’t have to ask a student to help pass out papers.”
This was going to be a long week.

Do you have any recs for the black phone?
DO I????
Do you guys know how exciting it is to get an ask that isn't about Avatar? Don't get me wrong, I love the Avatar ones, but the other kinds are such a fun change of pace. I have an equal obsession with a lot of other things, if not a bigger one.
So, I have a03 collections for a lot of things, and I do have one for The Black Phone as well. Check out The black phone was legit just like a fine movie it wasn't even that good why am I neck deep in this fandom sometimes I add more. As a massive fan of Steven King's IT (Reddie fics that don't make me think about the fact that this is a horror novel), I absolutely adore horror gay children, and as a massive stan of Donna Tartt's The Goldfinch (the goldfinch fics that don't make me sad and feel hatred towards english majors), I also love doomed love stories. Blah blah "the real horror is the blatant homophobia and trauma inflicted on the children that causes the death of pure imagination and dreams" there are better posts and essays written about that. So naturally I am a rinney stan so it's all rinney fics.
WARNING: This movie is a horror movie about a man kidnapping, heavily implied to be sexually abusing, and straight up murdering children, so there are some serious content warnings for some of these recs. Read at your own discretion. Avatar is a fandom I read pretty light shit for, I don't for The Black Phone always, so I'll try to be super clear with them.
the electric, synthesized, rock ballad of why finney blake can't have nice things by ECLIPSEWXTCH. I literally just made a post about this fic in relation to the pink concert. It's a modern au rinney fic where Robin and Finney lost touch as kids and find each other again as young adults, Robin a successful musician and Finney a student in college. If this fic is never completed I will burn this website to the ground. I have no content warnings for this fic unless you have an aversion to pure wholesomeness. Content warning for there never being as good a boyfriend as Robin Arellano? But we all knew that already.
Coffee boy by mikki_strange. It's a coffee shop au, man, it's adorable and it made me happy. No trigger warnings or anything, simply rinney fluff.
Holding On and Letting Go by Nizhoni93. CW: homophobia, implied underage rape, legit so much trauma and sadness. This is SUCH A GOOD FIC, oh my god. It's one I've reread a couple times now, despite it's length. I have recced this before because I brought it up in reference to the beloved and famed nocorro ghost au. Holding On and Letting Go is the INSPIRATION for all my sad nocorro ghost thoughts. It's entirely from Robin's first person pov after Finney has killed the Grabber and they other boys have moved on. Robin can't leave Finney, and spends his time haunting the other boy and watching as he suffers while Robin struggles too. It is. The biggest bummer ever. It's so heartbreakingly tragic. Even as Robin is describing all these big feelings, his love for Finney or the guilt he feels for having hurt all these people with his death, he'll say something like "And I was thirteen" and I remember he's a fucking eLEMENTARY SCHOOLER. I cried a counted total of nine times reading this fic. Highly recommend especially if you're into the nocorro ghost au. The chapter where the psychic tells Robin he's only hurting Finney by being there? I'll literally kill myself. The homophobia is fairly blatant, and although mentioned rarely the rape and Robin's disgust and shame around it is a hard read.
We Stand Together by HeavensAether. Serious trigger warnings for this one. It's almost a dead dove, tbh. Basically a rewrite of The Black Phone where all the kids are alive and in captivity at once, so they develop a fairly strong bond. The main draw for me was the psychological depth it takes into Finney as he works with the ghosts around him and tries to retain his sanity, his relationship with Robin, and the mystery of how they'll get out with Finney's powers. If dark bummers of a fic aren't your jam, this isn't for you! CW: underage rape, disassociation, homophobia, transphobia. Tbh the rape is (while not graphic) fairly disturbing and goes as a method of showing a characters disassociation. If it was in an earlier chapter, I'd probably not have continued reading. As it were, it's pretty easy to skip those parts, which I would recommend as what little I did read I did not enjoy!
And You Keep On Living by Nichknack (BBCotaku). CW: more common The Black Phone homophobia and also trauma and abuse, but I think so far this one is non-con mention free. It's basically just a post movie fic but where the timeline changes essentially, Finney and Gwen wake up and the ghost boys are all back and the world around them doesn't remember the Grabber and all of those events never happened. Some good rinney as always with a side of brance and it's very interesting, I can't imagine where it'll go.
Five Times Someone Discovers Finney is Spider-Man (And One Time He Is The One To Say It) by sleepysheep (mynameistadashi). CW: nothing let the boys be happy and in love and full of friendship. This one is a silly and cute rec, it just makes me smile. Let the boys be happy. It's just as it sounds, it's Spider-Man Finney and a 5+1 of everyone discovering it.

Janine ditching you on a night out might just work in your favour.
Pairing(s): melissa schemmenti x gn!reader
Word count: ~1.4k
Warning(s): suggestive themes but no actual smut, mild harassment
You didn’t realise you were even tipsy until you stood up from the couch you were sharing with Janine - scratch that, Janine and Gregory. When did he get here? Why were you here? When the decidedly reserved Miss Teagues invited you out with her to the hookah bar with a woman you had already forgotten the name of, you expected to have one drink before your work friend called it quits and wanted to leave. Instead, she’s one encouraging nudge away from shoving her tongue down another colleague’s throat, and you couldn’t interrupt to ask her to drive you home.
Shouldering your way through the thick crowd, you walk into the - surprisingly - empty bathroom, grimacing at the way your shoes stick to the floor as you sway slightly. Pulling out your phone, your finger presses the screen to call Jacob.
“Hello,” he answers after a few rings, dragging the word out and causing you to raise a brow he can’t see.
“Jacob? Janine is… busy and can’t drive me home. I don’t want to waste half my paycheque on an Uber, can you come get me?”
He laughs a little too loud, making you pull the phone away from your ear. “No can do I’m afraid, I’m getting turnt with Barb and Mel.”
Laughter bubbles out of your chest - you can practically feel the eye rolls your other colleagues are giving the oblivious man on the phone. A faint voice floats through the phone, the unmistakable Philly accent making you blush in your inebriated state. “Who’s that? Your shoe guy boyfriend?” Jacob huffs into the phone, and you listen quietly as he explains “the deets” to Barbara and Melissa. A bit of shuffling meets your ear before the woman of the hour speaks directly into the phone.
“Hey, I’ll come get you, I’m not drunk like numb nuts here. I live closer anyways.” You can hear Barb start to say something, but Melissa cuts her off. “If you puke in my car you’ll wish you never went into teaching in the first place.”
“I’m not that drunk,” you groan, “Janine just ditched me and she’s my ride.”
“Whatever hot shot. I’ll be there soon.” She hangs up before you can respond. Deciding one last drink can’t hurt, you exit the bathroom and slide into an empty seat at the bar, trying to get the bartender’s attention.
“Now what’s a sexy thing like you doing all alone,” questions a jarring male voice from behind you. Plastering the most convincing smile you can muster, you turn to see a man undressing you with his eyes and leaning in way too close for comfort.
“I’m just waiting for my ride,” you reply, turning back to sip on the drink the bartender brought to you as the man spoke up again. “I can be your ride baby, in more ways than one,” he smirks, gripping the buckle on the front of his pants. Downing the drink, you grimace before stepping off the chair and away from the guy that just won’t take a hint.
“I’m good, actually.” A well-timed text lights up the screen on your phone, letting you know your redheaded colleague is outside. Shouldering past him and into the crowd, you slowly make your way to the door.
The icy December wind hits your body as you leave the warm, tobacco-scented air from the bar. You can almost feel yourself sobering up in the cold. Spotting Melissa idling at the curb, you start towards the parked car before a hand grips at your upper arm.
“C’mon baby, let me show you a good time.” The man from the bar turns you towards him, the stench of liquor coming off him in waves. “Don’t be a tease.”
“Hey I’m not interested, get your hands off me,” you snap, yanking your arm back with no luck. The man is inches taller than you, and strong if his grip was any indicator. Your heart races when you see that he’s starting to get angry.
A soft, warm arm wraps around your waist, fingers digging into your hip. The contrast between it and the man in front of you makes you shiver. The voice that you heard over the phone earlier is eerily sharp, accent thicker now that the owner is irritated. “Is this guy bothering you, sweetheart?”
Turning your head, the redhead holds your gaze; her eyes are soft but have an edge to them that would have made you blush if there wasn’t a stranger gripping your arm. “No, I’m okay.”
A dark chuckle escapes the older woman’s lips. Moving to face the drunkard in front of the two of you, any kindness that she had shown you dissolves as she starts to speak. “My girlfriend is a lot nicer than me. Get your hands off her or it’ll be the last time you use that hand for a long time, I guarantee that.”
“Whatever bitch,” the man spits out, loosening his hold and moving back towards the bar. That soft hand around your waist moves up to your bicep, massaging it gently as its owner ducks her head to look at your face. “Hey, are you okay honey?” You give her a dazed nod, your brain only focusing on the woman touching your arm.
“Are you sure?” Her other hand moves to your face, palm cupping your reddening cheek. You nod again.
“I think that was the hottest thing I’ve ever seen,” you return, hand coming up to slap over your mouth after your thoughts slip out. Damn that last drink. The laugh from earlier meets your ears again, Melissa’s eyes darting down to your covered mouth. Her fingers slip around your wrist, moving your hand away from your face and using the grip to pull your body closer to hers.
You knew you were sobering up fast but the touch of the woman in front of you is making your head swim, your stomach flutter. A stuttering breath escapes your lips when Melissa’s hand grabs your hip possessively, no longer putting on a show for anyone. “Really? That was nothing. I can do so much better than that, sweetheart.”
“Yeah?” She nods, taking her bottom lip between her teeth. Eyes glancing at the ruby lipstick, you watch a smirk bloom as she catches you staring. Your cheeks are no doubt the same shade as the swipe of colour you were looking at, and you slowly meet Melissa’s fiery gaze.
“Why don’t you show me then, Schemmenti?”
Instantly, the soft lips that had you hypnotised earlier are now pressed against your own. The hand wrapped around your wrist moves to your bicep, your shoulder, and up the nape of your neck. Sharp acrylics drag across your scalp before gathering a fistful of hair and giving an experimental tug that has you practically whimpering. It gives her the leverage to slip her tongue into your mouth, confidently brushing it against yours. She tastes like sugar cookies and wine as red as her lips. Fumbling, one hand grips the lapel of her jacket - leather, your favourite - while the other moves underneath it to dig your fingers into her lower back. It pulls an appreciative groan from the other woman, and she starts to back you towards her car.
Your back hits the side of Melissa’s car, forcing a chuckle out from your chest. Pulling away from the redhead, you press kisses down her jaw, stopping just below her ear. “You playing the protective girlfriend role is doing something to me, Mel,” you sigh, biting her pulse point softly enough that it won't leave a mark. It prompts her to tighten her hold on your hair, and you let out a deep moan at the slight sting.
“Is that right, honey?” You hum in response, pulling her free hand forward until she's cupping you through your pants. Her tongue darts out to wet her lips, red as sin itself. Pupils blown, Melissa kisses you hungrily, not removing her hand but not daring to go further. Pulling back, you grab her chin to make her look at you.
“Take me somewhere private and I’ll show you just how much,” you murmur, watching Melissa stutter before turning to the car door she’s pressed you next to and opening it for you. Settling in the seat as Melissa rounds the car, you’re still catching your breath as she starts the engine. “I live closer,” Melissa states, just as breathless as you are as she pulls away from the curb. Chuckling as you remember that phrase from earlier - in a much different context - you squirm in your seat at the thought of what’s to come.

PLEASE i think we all need a part two to wedding bells. please
-Wedding bells- Part 2
Part 1 Part 3
Tumblr media
Pairing: Gary x Melissa Schemmenti x Reader
Gender:love, hurt
Warnings:Mention of cheating , insults
Summary:I don't wanna spoil it because I think it's good the surprise reading this fic like this.
Sweaty bodies, heavy breaths, restless hands, and intertwined limbs. Your jaw ached and your tongue was tired trying to bring this woman to orgasm for the third time with your mouth. It had been a week and a half since the wedding and this was the fourth girl you'd slept with.
Her beautiful skin was soft, a beautiful color, her taste was like sweet chocolate, her voice was intoxicating, and her moans would make anyone desperate for more. But like all the previous women you'd been with, they weren't enough, never enough, they weren't enough to get the redhead out of your head, they weren't enough to replace her, they weren't enough for you, you just wanted her.
When the woman underneath you let out a very high scream, you came back to reality, the woman had wet everything, she squirted all over the place, your face and breasts included, something you should have been proud of, but nothing filled you, nothing made you feel better, nothing you did made you feel anything.
Carefully, you untangled your limbs from the woman you were with and got out of bed, your body completely naked, looking for a paper towel to wipe you off. You'd take a bath, but that wasn't your home and you didn't want to stay there any longer than necessary.
Recently you had decided to start dating whoever crossed your path, you weren't like that before, but nothing mattered anymore. The only thing you decided to do from the first day you started this, was to take care of yourself and use protection and never take them to your house, you always went to a hotel, a motel or their houses, never yours.
After you had cleaned yourself and washed your hands, you began to get dressed under the intense gaze of the woman you were with
-"Don't want to stay a while longer?" - The woman asked, still naked, from her bed. You didn't even remember her name and that was reason enough to realize that you shouldn't be there, less staying.
-"I'm sorry, I've got work early" - It was the only thing you answered before you grabbed your purse and walked out, listening to the woman tell you to call her latter, which you knew you wouldn't do it.
When you got home, you took a bath and kept drinking alcohol, trying to keep yourself in that state where you're not drunk, but also not conscious enough to think about your misery. After a few more drinks, you fell asleep in your bed. In the morning you felt miserable, as you had every morning since Mel had married him. You grabbed your purse, put on your best fake smile and drove to school.
It was still early for the kids to arrive, so you headed to the teacher's room to make yourself a strong black coffee that would make you feel at least a little more alive. A couple of animated voices were heard in the hallway, you would recognize them anywhere, even if you didn't see yet who they were, you knew that they were from Mel and Barbara, the love of your life next to the only person, besides Gary, who knew how in love you were with the redhead.
The two women walked into the break room, smiling at the sight of you, also grabbing their cups to make a coffee
-"Morning" - You whispered with your best fake smile, lately you were pretending to be happy so much, that you no longer knew how to differentiate your real smile from the fake one.
-"Morning hon. You're here early, did you fall out of bed?"-The redhead asked, smiling, and you barely laughed
-"I couldn't really sleep"- You answered and sat down sipping your coffee while looking at your phone. The two continued talking while preparing their coffee, a reflection hit your eyes and caught your attention, when you looked up, you saw that it came from the redhead's ring, which made you sigh sadly, you had made such a good choice, that ring looked perfect contrasting with her perfect skin
-"It's beautiful, don't you think?"-Melissa asked you when she noticed how you looked at the ring, you looked up looking into her eyes and smiled
-"Perfect..."-You whispered seeing her beautiful eyes, you didn't know if you were saying perfect to her or the ring. If only she knew that you were the one who chose her rings because her husband didn't really know anything about her and didn't make an effort or pay attention to her to really get to know her, you sighed and then looked away from her-"Are we going to meet tonight to review the students' plans? I bought a good wine and I was thinking of making some ricotta ravioli, is that okay with you?" - You asked hopefully, Mel was no longer yours, but you would make the most of every moment with her. The redhead sighed and shook her head with a sad smile
-"I'm not going to be able to, I have to do some things, sorry..."-She replied and you sighed, ever since Mel came back from her honeymoon with Gary, she was avoiding seeing you, you didn't know if it was because Barbara had told her what you had said to her on the wedding day or because Gary had talked badly about you, but it hurt you to see how she avoided to spend more time with you outside of what was necessary at school.
-"It's okay, don't worry, I can do it on my own"-You responded and got up grabbing your cup and purse to go to your classroom to finish breakfast by yourself.
At lunchtime you took out your lunch box, but honestly your almost zero appetite disappeared when you heard Mel talk about their honeymoon and how they had spent it together, how magical it was and all that, so you left the tupperware in the fridge again and made yourself another cup of coffee. Lately you weren't eating much, you weren't eating healthy either, you knew it would affect you at some point but you didn't care. When your coffee was ready, you grabbed the cup and headed to the school cafeteria to see the kids. Your disappearance from the teachers' room did not go unnoticed, the others looked at each other confused when you left but no one said anything, not even the redhead who was hurt to see your absence.
The next few days passed the same, you tried to make plans with the redhead but she rejected them so you moved further and further away from her and therefore from others, you ate alone in your classroom or maybe you didn't even eat and just had a coffee. When she left work, you would see Gary come to pick her up and kiss her passionately and exaggeratedly when he noticed that you were looking at them. You'd go home with your heart broken, you'd drink a little, you'd go to a bar, you'd sleep with someone, and you'd go home to keep drinking until you feel asleep. Feeling more and more sad, broken, dirtier, and emptier each night.
Mel began to notice your absence from school, it was like you were there and at the same time you weren't, you were a ghost around the school, you just came to do your work and left, you didn't look at her or talk to her anymore, if she was around, you left the room to avoid her and you weren't very subtle when you did it and that hurt her. Melissa knew it was partly her fault, she started pushing you away first, mainly because Gary was jealous of you and didn't want the redhead to be with you, but she didn't think it would get to that point where you'd avoid her altogether. She missed the old days when you were friends and everything was easier. Honestly, since she got married, her life had not been as she expected, she had been married for a short time, but everything had already changed, Gary changed a lot and apparently he didn't even know her anymore (it was really because you had stopped helping him). And yet, Mel didn't understand why she was more concerned about losing you than about her marriage decaying.
That day, Melissa had come to your classroom to tell you that she needed to talk to you at the end of school, but you honestly didn't feel like facing her today, you felt like shit and probably listening to her would only make you feel worse. So you were begging your students to get out faster than hers, so you could leave before the redhead.
When the alarm announced the end of classes, you gathered your things quickly, but before you could leave, Barbara stopped you to talk, you tried to avoid it but there was no way to say no to her. Barbara made you sit at your desk and she sat next to you with a worried face
-"Sweetheart... Are going to tell me what's going on with you? We barely see you, you barely talk to us, I barely see you eat, you look worn out and sadder than ever, your eyes don't shine anymore and you don't smile. I know how your heart feels for Mel, but what else is going on?"-Barbara asked you and you sighed avoiding her gaze, her sweet tone and her sincere look of concern reminded you of your father when you were going through adolescence and he wanted to help you but didn't know how
-"I don't know what I'm doing Barbara, honestly, I'm just surviving, I just let the days go by. I spend my time drinking when I'm not working, or curled up in bed with someone else, people than I barely even know, nothing fulfills me and nothing makes me happy. I don't feel like eating and I have trouble sleeping, I feel so broken and tired, so so tired of living, and it's not just the fact that I'm still head over heels in love with Melissa, but my heart aches because she pushed me away, I tried to at least keep being her friend, but I lost even that. You told me she wouldn't forget me for getting married, but she did and it hurts, it hurts to think about her. That's why I keep drinking, so I don't think about anything. Because every moment that I spend sober, every second that my brain works, it is Melissa that occupies my whole being and it hurts, it hurts that she is the love of my life but I am nothing to her, I'm not even her friend"-You whispered and hid your face in your hands trying not to cry, Barbara caressed your back gently
-"You know what you're doing isn't right, you can't throw your life to the ground because of this, you didn't give up when you lost your father and you won't do it now either. You're strong, I know you are. You have to stop this self-destructive behavior."-Barbara commented worriedly and you sighed clenching your jaw
-"What's the point? I don't feel like fighting for myself and I have no one left to keep going. I just want to stop thinking for a while, I want to get her out of my head and heart and start from scratch... I've even asked Ava to arrange an exchange for me, she said she'd see it, but I still don't know anything about it. But if she succeeds, I want to leave, I don't care where, I just want to get away from Melissa and her intoxicating being , because she hurts me so much and she doesn't even notice it... If I manage to leave, maybe things will get a little better..."-You finally looked at Barbara and she shook her head
-"Don't say you don't have anyone anymore, I'm here, I'm here because I care about you and I want to see you well, I want to see you happy again... And leaving won't be the answer, the answer is to look for things that make you feel better and together we'll look for those things, I promise. I'm Melissa's friend, but I'm also your friend and I'll help you in any way I can. I never told her what you told me at the wedding, you can trust me, okay?"-She asked you and you nodded looking at her with teary eyes, Barbara hugged you tightly and you hid in her neck
-"Thank you Barbara... You always help me feel better"-You whispered, and she smiled even more.
When you two left the room, you failed to see the redhead who was pressed against the wall so you wouldn't notice that she overheard the entire conversation.
Upon getting home, you decided to go out to the bar anyway, just to distract yourself a bit, you didn't want to be home alone.
While you were dancing with a person, someone grabbed your hand and pulled you to a quieter place in the bar, you were about to fight but your heart stopped when you saw that it was Melissa, who was looking at you without saying anything
-"What are you doing here? What do you want?"-You squinted and Melissa just looked at you worriedly
-"I don't know, I really don't know, I just know that I needed to see you..."-she whispered and smiled faintly, but you sighed and frowned
-"Why? You've ignored me for almost a whole month and now you need to see me? Well, I don't want to see you or talk to you, you've been a bad friend"-Your answer came like poison from your lips and the redhead laughed dryly
-"Do you call me my bad friend? When you're the one who kept secrets from me?" - Melissa raised her voice, clearly annoyed
-"What the hell are you talking about?"-You asked confused, You weren't understanding anything, first she would show up without warning and now she was complaining about nonsensical things
-"That you had love me for years and you never told me!"-Her confession caught you by surprise and then anger filled your body again
-"How did you know about that? Who told you? If it was Barbara, I swear..."-You started talking but she interrupted you
-"I heard you talking to her earlier... Why didn't you talk to me before the wedding? Why didn't you ever tell me? You know you can tell me anything" - Her voice came out more fragile than desired, almost broken, as if talking too loudly would somehow make you escape
-"What was the point, nothing would have changed, you were in love with him and I would only always be your eternal friend, I couldn't risk losing you completely because of my stupid feelings. You would never reciprocate me, I am a stupid child and you are a great woman, you would not reciprocate, not even in my dreams. He made you happy, and at first I thought seeing you happy would be enough for me, so I keep quiet, but it wasn't and it started to destroy me. I tried to keep our friendship and you still walked away. So I lost it all anyway, I guess whatever I did, it was destined to be a failure... When I saw how happy you looked with him, I didn't dare hurt you with vain confections of love that wouldn't be reciprocated. I thought if I helped him make you happy, somehow... In a way that would be enough, but it wasn't. He only used me to make you fall in love with him, he used everything I knew about you to make you fall more in love and I watched my words fill his mouth and how you fell in love with him. You fell in love with my words and actions but believed they were his. But if those words had come from my mouth without him as an intermediary, they wouldn't have been enough for you to fall in love with me, nothing in the world would have been enough for my love to be reciprocated, so I just gave up without trying. It didn't matter if I spoke or not, nothing would have been different, you would have ended up with him anyway and walked away from me..."-You whispered avoiding her gaze, Melissa looked at you with such anger and contempt, that was what you wanted to avoid and the reason why you never confessed. You couldn't stand her being angry with you. Melissa angrily pushed you against the wall when she saw that you wanted to keep talking
-"Shut up, don't say you wouldn't have been enough because you don't know that, you're more than enough for anyone you want. Don't put yourself down. You're a thousand times better than Gary, but you're so stupid, how did you let so much time pass? Why did you let me marry him when you loved me? If you had spoken, maybe it would be you and me at that damn altar. Maybe this stupid ring would tie me to you and not to him, how I wish you were the one who occupies my bed and not him... I was scared to admit this, but you occupy my thoughts more than he does, I always care more about you than my relationship with him. You occupy my dreams and every minute of my life... But you are so stupid... So fucking stupid, you have such a big mouth but you keep quiet for so long... I hate you so much!"-The redhead went to push you again but you grabbed her hands changing the position and leaving her against the wall
-"And I hate you more! Why did you married him if you kept thinking about me?! Why didn't you say no if you weren't sure?" - You yelled at her, pressing her against the wall with your body, you were only millimeters away from her
-"Because I'm clearly as stupid as you are! We're both stupid and in love with each other and we never said anything...so stupid...- Melissa whispered looking at your lips and grabbed your cheeks kissing you hard. The kiss was desperate, teeth clashing, tongues competing for dominance, your hands touching every part the redhead would allow. Her little moans on your lips were driving you crazy and desperate for more, you wanted more from her, you needed it, you needed her. Your hands slipped under her blouse and you squeezed her waist, her skin so soft was addictive. Her breasts were pressed against yours and your hips against hers. You didn't want to be away from her, not even if your lungs were screaming for air. You wanted to kiss her until your lips wore away, you wanted to kiss her until the reality you were in changed, you wanted to touch her until your body and hers became one, you wanted to hold her until she became yours and you became hers. But nothing would change reality, Melissa was married and this was wrong. The redhead pushed you gently, breathing heavily
-"Whether we like it or not, I'm still married to him" - she whispered, teary-eyed inches from your lips
-"I know, I can't fucking forget that" - You whispered and tried to kiss her again but she wouldn't let you, putting her fingertips on your lips to stop you
-"And I'm not a cheater..."-she whispered, and you sighed walking a few steps back, even if your soul ached for having to part from her after wanting to kiss her for so long. You knew why she said it, whether Gary was a bad men or not, he didn't deserve to be cheated on like her ex-husband did to her in her old marriage-"I'll talk to Gary and then we will see where this could go... Would you be willing to wait for me?" - Melissa asked looking into your eyes and you barely smiled
-"Always..."-You answered and arranged a strand of hair that had ruffled out of her perfect hair
-"I'll see you tomorrow at school then... Please don't stay here, go back home and eat something and try to get some rest... And if Ava gets your transfer, don't accept it... Wait for me please or I'll go after you"- Melissa whispered and kissed your cheek, very close to your lips before leaving to talk to him.

What's A Soulmate?
Intro: Here it is, the winner of the poll, I hope to have the other one posted in the next few weeks, enjoy~
Summary: Your first year at Abbott is more chaotic than you expected, the unexpected subject of soulmates gets brought up, life is black and white until you've met and start to fall for your soulmate.
Word Count: 2.8k
Warnings: Small bout of violence, heated argument, let me know if I missed anything.
Tumblr media
Walking into Abbott Elementary for the first time after being hired as the new librarian was a lot more chaotic than you had initially thought it would be, there were several OSHA violations you could already see, it smelled like something had died, there was a camera crew following around a tall woman with long hair that was black on top that went into an ombre of white that you assumed was actually blonde or at least a light brown, not like you knew what those colors actually looked like, you had yet to fall in love with someone that was your soulmate, so you were stuck seeing the world in black and white.
Soulmates were dumb in your opinion, why couldn’t the universe let you test the waters with different loves instead of just picking one true love without your permission, you could be stuck with a clown for all you knew! Nothing against them, but their antics would get old real fast.
Heading into the door on your left, you saw the woman you saw a moment ago deeply engrossed with her phone, knocking on the doorframe to get her attention “Can I help you?” She asked, looking you up and down “Yeah, I’m the new librarian, I’m looking for Miss Coleman?” You said, watching as a smile lit up her face and she started looking at you with newfound interest.
“Well, don’t you look scrumptious” she said, smiling at you and standing from her seat “Ava Coleman, the one you’re looking for” she winked, shaking your hand when you took the one she offered “Let me show you around, get you settled in” she said, leading you out of the room with your face burning from her flirting.
At the end of the tour, you arrived at the library “This is your territory, do whatever you want with it, if you need anything, ask someone else” Ava said before leaving, shutting the door behind her and leaving you to silence and the couple shelves of books that the school had, sighing, you set your stuff down behind the counter, making a mental note to get yourself a safe or small storage to keep your stuff safe and secure throughout the day before grabbing your tablet and going to take inventory of what all you had book wise so you knew where to start.
You don’t know how much time had passed before you heard the door open and two voices “I don’t think he’s the one, Barb, it’s been weeks and still no colors” one voice said “Just keep trying-Oh! Hello there!” The one you assumed was Barb said when you came out from behind the bookcase you had been behind, clutching the tablet to your chest as you looked at the two women, one looking a bit older with a bob haircut and a sweet smile, while the other had long hair with a look of annoyance on her face.
“You must be the new librarian, I’m Barbara” Barbara introduced, holding her hand out towards you “Oh, yes, I’m Y/N it’s nice to meet you” you smiled, shaking her offered hand then looking at the other woman and offering your hand to her, her not shaking it until Barbara nudged her side “Melissa” she said bluntly, shaking your hand unwillingly and shoving her hands into her pockets after.
Clearing your throat, you ran a hand through your hair as you thought of what to say, glancing down at your tablet “I noticed there wasn’t too many books to choose from, let me know if you guys have any suggestions so I can get some more” you said, offering them a small smile and catching Melissa’s eyes widening for a split second “That’s a wonderful idea, I’ll see what all my class wants and bring you the list later” Barbara smiled, watching as your smile widened “Awesome! I should get back to it, but it was lovely meeting you two” you said, offering a small wave before heading off towards the counter, leaving Melissa and Barbara to continue their conversation in hushed whispers.
XXXXX
Two weeks had passed since your first day, you had become fast friends with Jacob, the two of you having a lot of things in common, this in turn meaning you were close with Janine, she was nice but a little too peppy for your taste, Barbara was super sweet and you enjoyed your early morning talks in the breakroom, Gregory was nice but he had yet to come out of his shell with you, you had avoided Ava and her flirting at all cost, then there was Melissa, she was still kind of a mystery to you but you can’t help but be drawn to her, she came into the library during her kids recess “So I can have some peace and quiet” she had told you when you asked, although she mostly talked to you while you worked on your own tasks but you weren’t going to call her out.
Coming into school, you were trying to balance all your stuff along with two big boxes in your arms “Do you need help?” A teasing voice asked, causing you to jump slightly “It would be appreciated” you conceded, feeling one of the boxes being taken and Melissa’s face appearing in front of you with a small smile “Jeez hon, what’s in these?” She asked, heading inside when you managed to open the school’s front door “You remember when I had you guys make a list?” You asked, fumbling with your keys for a moment before managing to unlock and push the door to the library open.
“You’re kidding” Melissa said, astonished as she set the box she was carrying down on the counter and opening it, seeing it filled with books “Did Ava actually give you the money for this?” She asked, watching as you set the box you were carrying down, shaking your head “No, I did, the kids needed more reading material” you said, knowing that you got most for cheap at thrift stores, looking at Melissa when she stayed silent and seeing her staring at you like she was seeing you in a new light and you couldn’t help but see the world a little brighter after that.
XXXXX
As the weeks went by, you slowly started to see in more color, you knew Melissa was your soulmate, but you were too scared to do anything about it, maybe she was yours but you weren’t hers, you had heard of that happening before, it was extremely rare but maybe you were one of those rare cases? You didn’t want to find that out and embarrass yourself.
Opting instead to just ignore the fact it was happening, maybe you could save yourself the embarrassment and transfer schools- “Y/N! How are you doing, dear?” Barbara asked, leading her class behind her and pulling you out of your thoughts “Good morning, Mrs. Howard, I’m doing alright, are the kids here for new books?” You smiled, knowing that she brought her kids by once a week to return their books and get a new one, gesturing to the bookshelves that were now almost fully stocked thanks to everyone’s help after Melissa blabbed about what you had done for them and the kids.
“Mx. Y/L/N?” You heard a quiet voice ask, turning your attention to the small group of kindergarteners that had stayed behind “Yes Dante?” You asked the little boy that had gained your attention to them “What’s a soulmate?” Dante asked, catching you off guard since you weren’t expecting that deep of a question “Oh, well…” You said, trying to think of a way to explain it so a group of kindergarteners could understand.
“So, you all know how right now you can only see in black and white?” You asked after a beat of silence, watching them all nod “Well, when you start to fall in love with your soulmate, your world starts to slowly fill with color then one day everything is bright and colorful” you explained, watching as they discussed amongst each other before another kid, Sammy, spoke up “Have you found your soulmate yet, Mx. Y/L/N?”
Damn these kids were hitting you with all the big questions and all before you’ve had more than a sip of your quickly cooling coffee, glancing over when you heard the door open and unable to help the smile that appeared on your face as Melissa walked in, her engrossed in her phone until she felt your eyes on her, catching your eyes before you turned to the small group of kids “I think I just might’ve” you said, laughing when the kids either squealed or fake gagged, looking over at Melissa who was looking at you with a smile as you interacted with the kids, the redness of her hair starting to get lighter and thinking you caught a glimpse of her gorgeous blue eyes.
XXXXX
Later on that week, you were heading for the breakroom to get yourself another cup of nasty dirty bean water, man you really needed to get up earlier so you could make yourself at least one decent cup to get through the day, so lost in your thoughts that you almost missed the two voices coming from the breakroom.
“I just don’t know what to do, Barb, I think he’s going to propose to me” you heard Melissa say, feeling your heart start to sink at her words “Well, you said you were finally starting to see colors, do you think it’s because of him?” Barbara asked, shifting in her seat to look at Melissa better “I don’t know, maybe” she said, knowing it also started after she found out what you did for the kids “Well, do you love him?” Barbara asked sincerely, knowing she was trying to help, even though each word hurt “I mean yes, but”.
You stopped listening after that, feeling tears burning your vision and nausea start to build in your throat as you quickly turned on your heel and rushed back to the library, collapsing back against the boor after it shut behind you, barely thinking of locking it before the tears started to fall “Stupid, stupid, stupid… you knew you weren’t her soulmate and you still hoped” you muttered to yourself, harshly wiping your tears away as you tried to calm yourself down, even though your whole world was falling apart.
XXXXX
You had decided to take a few days off after that, needing some time to come to terms with everything, even going as far as silencing your phone so you wouldn’t get distracted by concerned coworkers and Melissa, who had been worried about you since the first day you had called off, which made you feel even guiltier, but you knew you had to distance yourself for a few days, you needed to come to terms with the fact that Gary was Melissa’s soulmate, she was going to be engaged to him soon and you needed to bury your feelings for the redhead… right?
When you returned, the redhead was immediately on you “Why weren’t you answering any of us?” She asked, following you as you went towards the library “Well, good morning to you too, Mel” you chuckled, glancing at her as you pulled your keys out of your bag “I just needed a few days to myself, but I’m fine now” it wasn’t a total lie, you were feeling better than you did a few days ago and you knew you were able to put on a good fake face.
The redhead stared you down for a long moment, seeming to debate on whether or not she believed you, deciding to not push the matter further “As long as you’re okay” she decided to say, reaching out and resting her hand on your arm, stopping you in your tracks, giving her a small smile “I am, don’t worry” you assured, trying not to let her touching you affect you.
XXXXX
After that, a few weeks went by you heard arguing as you approached the breakroom for lunch, raising a brow when you saw Gregory awkwardly standing outside the breakroom, him usually being the first one to go in there “Melissa and Gary are getting into it, figured it was a good idea to wait out here” Gregory explained, him not being good when it came to arguments.
You stood there for a moment, opting to follow Gregory’s lead until you heard Melissa shouting at Gary to let go of her, that making you change your mind as you stormed into the room “You heard her, let her go, Gary” you said, staring him down when both turned at the sound of your voice.
“You’re the one that’s causing the argument, I highly suggest you stay out of business that isn’t your own” Gary said, releasing Melissa and getting in your face “It is my business when you lay a hand on my friend” you said through gritted teeth, smacking his hand away when he went to shove his finger against your chest, readying to strike back if needed when Melissa grabbed his arm to pull him back, seeing red when he shoved her harshly back, your body moving before you could stop yourself as you shoved him harshly back against the wall.
“If you touch her EVER again, I will have your head” you threatened, feeling gentle but firm hands pull you back, Gregory stepping in just in time to grab Gary and hold him back when he lunged at you “Alright, that’s enough” Gregory said, practically dragging Gary out of the room, your harsh glare on Gary as he was led out of the room until you felt the redhead tug on your arm, successfully pulling your attention to her, searching her up and down for injuries before you focused on her gorgeous blue eyes.
“Are you okay?” You both asked, the two of you letting out an awkward laugh when you realized you spoke at the same time “I’m fine, I just… I couldn’t stand how he was treating you just now and I couldn’t just sit back and-” stopping your rambling when you felt her hand on your cheek “Thank you… for stepping in when you did” she said softly, glancing at you hand when you rested it on top of hers that was on your cheek.
The two of you stared at one another for a long moment before you spoke up “I have something to admit, it’s going to sound stupid, but I have to say it” you said, pulling away from her and glancing at the door when you heard footsteps and chatter, you knew you wouldn’t get privacy here, nor would you have time to explain how you felt and how she was your soulmate  even though you weren’t hers “Meet me in my classroom after school” she spoke up, knowing what you were thinking, smiling when you nodded, grabbing your lunchbox and escaping the room before you could make a bigger fool of yourself.
The time to tell Melissa your true feelings came sooner than you wanted it to as the final bell rang and your anxiety rose up to your throat, you more nervous than you cared to admit even though you knew how this would go, you’d spill your guts and she’d turn you down “Y/N?” You heard Melissa ask, pulling you from your thoughts “You said you had something to tell me” she stated, her expression neutral but inside her stomach was turning and her heart was pounding with nerves.
“Oh, yes” you said, clearing your throat and taking a deep breath before you let everything out, telling her how you were falling for her and how the more you did, the more colors you saw “I know Gary is your soulmate and I have no chance, but I had to tell you for my sake” you explained, finally taking a breath, starting to panic when you saw the shock on her face “Oh man, I’m so sorry! I shouldn’t of said anything-” getting cut off when her lips crashed into yours.
You froze when she kissed you, unmoving until you felt her start pulling away, pulling her against you and responding to the kiss, once the need to breathe finally overpowered you, you pulled away but continued to hold her close, when you finally opened your eyes a rush of color filled your vision until you focused on her baby blues “Your eyes are beautiful” you murmured, earning a bright smile from the redhead “I see you, I truly see you” Melissa grinned, happy tears filling her eyes as she pulled you in for another heated kiss, now you could tell Dante that you in fact did have a soulmate and could give his group a tamer explanation of what it was like.

Hi, could i request a melissa schemmenti x firefighter!reader. I absolutely found melissa in 2x15 bloody adorable, so i would think she would melt if she were to see reader on the job or in uniform (like getting ready to go to work and melissa catches them before they leave the house sort of thing). It could be an established relationship or not, totally up to you, just thought this would be a super cute idea.
I feel like there could be more firefighter!reader stuff but at this point, i’ve read all of melissa schemmenti stories and i’m desperate for more, so i’ll take anything 🫠.
p.s. I love all of your stories and the way you write 💕💕

your alarm pierced your eardrums, pulling you violently from a deep and comfortable sleep. you reached haphazardly to turn off the alarm, burying your face back into your pillow with a groan. soft lips press between your shoulder blades, nails caressing your sides. if only staying in bed was an option. your head lifted off the pillow, turning to face melissa behind you. she has to be too beautiful to be real, you thought inwardly.
melissa leaned forward, catching your lips with hers. she relished in the way you pressed into her, blindly pushing yourself into her as much as you possibly could. she wishes you didn’t have to go in today, it was a saturday, a no-school day. but being the lieutenant under captain robinson meant when the fire chief came to visit, you had to be there to run the crew. one, two, three more pecks were placed to her lips before you pulled away, to both of your dismays.
she propped herself up against the headboard as she watched you mill about before you head into the shower. melissa often found herself admiring you when you weren’t looking, green eyes tracing your face, watching your hands as they moved when you spoke. she indulged herself in the view of you and your company.
when you emerged from the bathroom, your phone was pressed between your shoulder and ear. melissa could see the irritation radiating off of you as you grumbled with whoever was on the other line. she finds herself annoyed with them as well, peeved that they are taking away her time with you.
“so i have to pull up in turnouts instead of changing when i get there like a normal person… for what reason?” you ask as you dig through the dresser for a pair of boot socks. of course, captain robinson called you. he trusted you enough to lead the crew, but not enough to just let you do your job. melissa laughs as you turn around and face her with dead eyes and a slacked jaw before you speak again, “yessir, black turnouts. i’ll see you next week. yes. yes. mhm, yeah, bye.”
“did he just call you to tell you to wear clothes?” melissa asks in a joking tone, watching you in the reflection of your mirror.
you laugh as you apply your moisturizer, “pretty much. he said since i’m in charge today, i have to be ready before the crew.”
melissa was admittedly giddy about the whole prospect. she’d seen you in your formal attire when you were promoted from driver engineer to lieutenant last year, and congratulate you she did, all night long. she had been selfishly waiting for the day you came home in your turnouts, just so she could rip them off of you.
her eyes followed you as you grabbed a fitted, black t-shirt from the drawer, then as you pulled an extra pair of turnout pants from the closet. melissa watched intently as you dressed, focused as you pulled the shirt over your head, tucking it into the pants, leaving maroon suspenders hanging down. her mind was blank within seconds, only thing bouncing around was the image of you. she hardly registered you turning around, catching the dazed look across her face. in fact, she didn’t notice anything until you were mere centimeters from her.
“whatcha looking at gorgeous?” you ask with a sly smile on your lips, relishing in the way melissa’s cheeks bloom with redness.
she blinks a couple times, “nothing.”
“nothing? nothing at all?” you ask, leaning even closer to her. melissa was rendered speechless by you, the hand on her thigh drawing little shapes over the sheets, your eyes staring into hers with a mischievous glint. everything you did and said was a personal aphrodisiac for the redhead, but this uniform was altogether something else. no one had ever had this sort of effect on her, and now she’s blushing like a pre-teen at a boy band concert.
melissa only had enough wherewithal to nod at your question. no matter what you did or said she would never admit out loud how much you affected her, how much she craves the feeling you give her with just one look. her eyes shut briefly as your hand rises to tuck hair behind her ear, warming her face impossibly more.
“knock it off,” she mumbled, leaning into your palm that rested against her cheek.
your thumb stroked her soft skin with a chuckle, “i’m just sitting here, mel.”
“you’re so…” she huffs, only getting a confused look in response. “fucking look at you,” she almost yells, placing her hands over her face with embarrassment.
she hears the light laughter that leaves you, then feels you pulling her wrists as a way to get her hands off her face. you’re only half-successful and speak anyways, “i didn’t think turnouts would have the melissa schemmenti blushing like a fool.”
melissa wishes her heart didn’t soar when you laughed as she smacked your shoulder. anyone else who’d have the guts point this out would have to move to another planet to escape her wrath, but here you were, leaning into her even when she scowled. you pressed a kiss to her nose before rising off the bed again to finish getting ready.
as you walked back to the bathroom, melissa followed and stood behind you with her arms wrapped around your waist as you brushed your teeth. her nose tucked into the crook of your neck, inhaling the smell of your body wash and the smell that was uniquely you. her hands slowly moved up and down your torso, attempting to untuck your shirt and slide her hands underneath. you turned in her arms, halting her actions with a small, non-threatening glare.
“you are ravishing,” melissa says quiet tone, her eyes scanning over your features before dipping down to look at your clothing.
your cheeks warm under her affection, heart rapidly beating from just looking at her. leaving for work had never been harder, not when she was looking at you, touching you, like this. melissa knew the effect she had on you, the same way you knew of yours on her.
you cup her face in your hands, cherishing the beauty of her, “you can ravish me as much as you’d like when i get home.”
“don’t you wanna stay home with me, lieutenant?” she asked with a deeper tone, dripping in lust. you held back a groan at her words, wanting more than anything to take her up on the offer. she leans in, lips just a hair from your, “pretty please?”
you meet her in a sweet kiss, not letting her devilish tongue persuade you. nothing sounded better than spending a day in bed with melissa, to have the tv on and be so enraptured with one another that it fades away. when you pull away from her lips you whisper, “i want nothing more, but i have to go to work. i’ll be home before dinner, i promise.”
leaving melissa’s arms felt like being torn from like her, but if you didn’t leave now, you’d never leave again. she was a temptress of the highest order, you were sure of it. ignoring the looks and lingering touches she left behind as she ‘helped’ you collect your things. your hands wrapped around her waist, pulling her towards you as you started for the front door.
“i will be home at four thirty-six exactly. once i walk through that door, i am all yours,” you say to her, staring into big green eyes that were begging you to come back to bed.
“all mine?”
“completely and entirely,” you say, punctuating your sentence with a long kiss to soft lips. pulling away hurt your heart, but you had to. she caught your hand before you turned away, pressing a kiss to your knuckles, letting go with pursed lips.
“i love you,” she says as she leans against the doorway.
you turn back to her, “i love you more. i’ll see you at four thirty-six.”
“four thirty-six,” she replies as she reluctantly shuts the door.
it was going to be a long and hard day, but any day that melissa schemmenti was waiting for you at home was a good day.
sorry this was shorter than usual i was having a hard time with this one for… no reason??
feedback appreciated as always <3

Autumn Days
The giddy excitement Melissa feels as she drives is enough to make her vibrate. You were in the passenger seat as usual, looking at the map on your phone while you two head for the cider mill. Melissa had a secret, one that was on a silver band hidden away in her bookshelf at home. Now, driving in the crisp morning air Melissa glances over unable to stop the warm smile spreading across her lips as the sun rays come through the window giving your hair a warm glow and your black sunglasses sparkle.
“If we keep going straight we’ll hit Main Street and it’s right there.” You tell your girlfriend, completely unaware of her loving gaze.
As you two pull into the grassy parking area you beam like a little kid rounding the truck to hold Melissa’s hand.
“I haven’t been to one of these places since I was a kid.”
“Yeah? Well we’re pulling out all the stops.” Melissa beams lacing your fingers together as you walk through the entrance. Taking in a deep breath you smell cinnamon and cider making you shimmy your shoulders in excitement.
“Hayride and apple picking first?”
“You bet, hon.”
As you two walk through the crowd you find the little stand to pay to get on the hayride and offer Melissa your hand to climb up onto the makeshift seats. “Covered in hay.” You chuckle. “I bet you’re already thinking about what you can bake with the apples we pick.”
Melissa grins squeezing your hand. “And the pumpkins we’re gonna carve.”
She looked like a little kid in a candy store, bright eyed and a permanent smile etched onto her lips. Looking over you can’t help but squeeze her hand grinning like an idiot. She made you feel warm and fuzzy, alive.
As the afternoon goes on you carry your bag of apples over your shoulder as you walk through the bakery and shop looking at all the sweet treats. With a handful of Carmel apple suckers between your fingers you weave around other people and strollers getting to the cider.
“Baby, do you want a jug of cider for the house?”
“Yeah! We can use it as a mixer.” Melissa grins. “You need all those suckers?” She laughs.
“Of course I do! They’re seasonal, Mel!” You smile happily carrying everything to the checkout.
When you two come out of the store you hold onto both bags in one hand and Melissa’s with the other, happily intertwining their fingers.
“I don’t wanna put pressure on you, but I’m gonna kick your coolie at carving.”
You quirk a brow eyeing the playful smirk on her lips. “You’re on, Schemmenti.”
Back at home with a candle burning, cider drinks made, and a cozy fall playlist going you and Melissa stand at the opposite sides of the plastic covered table with a sucker between your lips. Standing with a determined look on your face you finally come up with an idea, not having a clue as to what’s going on with Melissa.
The redhead is already holding the pumpkin back, drawing her design. She tries to keep her hand steady as she writes.
“I got you big time, Schemmenti.” You grin getting started on your carving by taking the top off.
Melissa shakes her head with a smirk taking her time with the carving not wanting to finish too soon. As you get to carving yours you stand up and hum and bop along to Don’t Fear The Reaper.
“You’re so cute.” Melissa chuckles watching you concentrate on your work, the little crinkle between your eyes being one of your favorite mannerisms.
“I’m very cute.” You grin right back at her. “Don’t try to sweet talk me. I’m winning this thing.”
“I dunno about that one, Tesoro.”
You smile flicking pumpkin guts onto the plastic with a scrunched up nose not thinking of anything going on from the other side of the table. When all is said and done Melissa stands up getting the pumpkin guts off her hands with a towel
“Are you done already?” You chuckle, “let me see.”
“No!” Melissa panics. “Not yet, we gotta wait for the reveal with the little lights.” She recovers easily. You nod and open the package for the little fake candles.
“Here, I’ll do those and spin em around for you to see em.” Melissa tells you with a giddy smile. There was definitely something going on.
“Okay,” you chuckle going over to flick the lights off so you can get the full effect.
Melissa’s hands shake as she opens up the top of the pumpkin, the smell is almost too much in the moment with her senses on overload. She’s never been so nervous in her life. Placing the battery powered lights in the pumpkins she turns yours around first smiling at the witch design.
“I carved Kristen, you like it?” You joke.
Melissa laughs holding onto the other pumpkin. “I really do, hon. You got her nose just right.” You were definitely the one for her.
Carefully turning the pumpkin around, she keeps her eyes on you. When you see the words carved and glowing you let out a gasp, your eyes going over the words over and over again. Four words that change everything.
Moving to stand beside you Melissa wraps her arms around your waist.
“Will you marry me, hon?”
Spinning in her arms you beam like an idiot pulling her into frantic kiss.
“Yes!” You laugh, “oh my god, Mel yes!”
Melissa squeezes you in a tight hug before holding the gorgeous engagement ring out to slide onto your finger.
Cupping her cheeks in your hands you lean in giving her a sweet kiss before grinning once again.
“Best day ever.”
