Hi! I’m Megan Frau, and I’m an art educator by day and illustrator in my free time. I love creating stories inspired by fairytales, myths, and all things fantastical. I’m inspired a lot of traditional art techniques, such as emulating printmaking processes in my digital work. I’m addicted to adding textures to my art. I scan and capture interesting textures and repeat assets like they’re stamps in my illustrations. I jump around a lot in my art process from making paintings, to comics, to designing patterns for products on my society6 page. I’m sure it confuses a lot of people, but it works for my scattered brain. My webtoon is “The Grievers” on Webtoon Canvas, is on hiatus currently, but I’m always looking to add more comic stories in the future. It’s so great to return to Tumblr and see so much inspiring artworks, they feed by soul, thank you!
Pleasure to meet you, Megan! We've asked her to share of her art here for you all.

Trying to sketch more with every spare minute I have (this was between rounds of drawing critiques). I am also trying to get more into surrealist techniques with automatic drawing and more intuitive approaches to sketching.
Another class example I made for a future unit. It should be printed out and made into an accordion book. I’m not too in love with it but I think there’s a kernel of an idea I like within it that I will explore later.
I tried to figure out the motion effects in Adobe Fresco and whooboy that got complicated fast. Need to keep trying but it was hard to make it look decent.
