50 Day Fic Prompt: Day 10
Come here.
=500
FitzDaisy
When they landed, Daisy felt like she was full of ants, nerve running through her rampant and wild. There’d been a notice that several agents were down, including Fitz. They wouldn’t give any other detail over the wireless, and Daisy could feel the anxiety rising steadily the more and more insistent.
“Where’d they take Fitz?” she asked as soon as she stepped off the Zephyr. “Is he okay?”
“He’s with Simmons, I think,” one of the agents nearby said, “in the medlab.”
“Thanks, Wright.”
She hurried through the base, rushing past Mack and Coulson as they called for her. She couldn’t stop, not for a check-in or her required briefing. Nothing mattered except for Fitz, getting to his side. He was awake when she got to the medlab, in a bed nearest to the door, with his arm in a sling and a bandage covering one half of his forehead.
“Hey, Daisy’s here,” he said happily. “Simmons, Daisy’s here!”
“I see that,” she said. “Welcome home, Daisy.”
“Thanks,” Daisy said.
“Come here,” Fitz said. “Close.”
“He just had a bullet taken from his shoulder, so he’s pretty well drugged,” Simmons said.
“Took a bullet, huh,” Daisy said, walking to Fitz’s side. He grinned dopily at her, and her heart squeezed at how light and carefree he was. He hadn’t been since Ward’s betrayal, and Daisy almost melted to see it. He looked younger than he’d seen him, even with the beard.
“Hi,” he said. “You’re home. I was worried about you.”
“I was worried about you,” she said. “You got shot, Leo.”
“I’m okay, Simmons patched me right up. She’s very good.”
“She is,” Daisy agreed.
“He wouldn’t let me sedate him for the surgery,” Simmons added. “He wanted to wait until you were safe.”
“I didn’t want to be asleep when you came home, if you needed me.”
“That’s ridiculous,” she told him, smoothing back his hair. He’d let it grow out over the months, mostly because Daisy loved to slide her hands into it. “You’re ridiculous, Leo.”
“Yeah.”
She leaned in and kissed him, curling her hand in the hospital gown he’d been changed into. She wanted to sink into him.
“How was the mission?” he asked when they finally broke apart. “You’re safe?”
“I am. I’m safe.”
“Good. I know you can take care of yourself, you’re amazing, and beautiful, and strong, and a force of nature, and – but I worry. One day, you might not come home to me. You’re too – you're important to me.”
“I know, baby,” she said. He blushed. He loved when she called him baby, even if he never said it. “I was scared when I heard that you’d been hurt, and I couldn’t get any other information.”
“I’ll be base-bound for a while,” he said.
“Good. Right where I can keep you safe.”
“Will you kiss it better?” he asked quietly.
“That’s not exactly sound science,” she teased.
“I have a hypothesis I’d like to test.”
“I can agree to that.”

The Ultimate Weapon, chapter 14
Bucky’s POV
Tumblr media
I didn’t trust her, not for one moment. Sure, I felt sorry for her when we found her, but that was it. We’d been making our way through the base in Siberia for a few minutes – me, Tony, Steve, Nat and Clint. Bruce was waiting out in the quinjet in case we needed anything demolishing by the big guy. The base was heavily armed and had a lot of Hydra soldiers, but it was no great issue to smash our way through it. After a while, we got to more heavily secured areas – fewer soldiers, but a lot more doors. Tony left one of his Iron Legions with us to break down the doors and went off with Clint to start the data retrieval process, vital to find the next base, and the rest of us carried on through.
We were pretty low down in the sub-levels by now and came across a row of locked cells. Typical Hydra interior design – concrete, damp, cold. Most of them were empty although the scratches on the walls and marks on the floor showed they’d been occupied once. Lucky occupants made it out, whether walking or carried, it had to be better than in. Fourth cell along and we found the first body, a young man. He was well muscled but I guess he didn’t feel too well given that his eyes had melted onto his cheeks and he’d bled out through his ears. Nat did a quick check but he was definitely dead. Two cells further along and we found another body, we didn’t check this one – from the smell alone we could tell this one was not going to be perking up any time soon. I pitied anyone who’d been near that smell for long, and then we walked along to the final cell and found someone else. Someone alive.
She was sitting on the floor at the back of the cell, pushed right back into the corner behind the bed. Eyes open and staring straight ahead, I thought she was dead until I saw her frantic breathing. She was pretty small, probably starved, but well-muscled, and heavily scarred. Her face was a mess, she’d obviously taken a heavy beating at some point and her teeth were smashed in and it looked like a broken cheekbone. Her hair had been hacked off in lumps, no doubt to attach electrodes at some point. I could guess what she’d been through, we’d passed enough rooms full of torture devices to guess, and I figured her mind was probably broken. If I’d been on my own, I’d probably have shot her, it would have been kinder. Nat probably felt the same, but Steve was with us and he’s nothing if not ridiculously honourable.
So, the Iron Legion blew off the lock and Nat went in. We thought she was probably paralysed with fear but as Nat got closer she could hear the start of a whimper, getting louder as she got closer. Nat, not known for her gentle ways, tried out a variety of ‘OK, we’re not here to hurt you’ and ‘sshh’ then the girl stood up, fast. Standing you could see she was even more hurt than we’d thought. At least three of her fingers were broken, there was dried blood and fresh on a number of wounds, burn marks, cuts, you name it. Her ribs were standing out and it was surprising she had the strength to move but suddenly she attacked. Nat was fast, of course, and fought back, and Steve stepped in as well and managed to get a tranq into her but she was strong. She’d obviously been enhanced, and that was when I started to worry about what we were taking on.
Steve took her back to the jet while Natasha and I finished checking the base. We had a few Hydra agents captive – Tony and Clint had already called in Jarvis to send a carrier – and quite a few bodies. I loaded up some of the equipment that Tony wanted to investigate, left them to finish up and headed to the jet.
Bruce had secured the girl with restraints, although if she was enhanced I doubted they’d hold, so he had given her another dose of sedative. I got everything loaded and Nat started the pre-flight routine and then set us on course for Stark Tower, before setting autopilot and coming back. The four of us stood and looked at her. She was, quite frankly, unappealing. Filthy, starved, broken and highly dangerous. She was obviously young but she was a Hydra tool. I knew what that meant, I’d been one too. I kept my thoughts to myself though, and waited until we all got back.
Once we were at Stark Tower, Nat and I got on with unloading and reports, while Steve and Bruce, the softer-hearted ones, took her up to the medlab. She was still sedated, so Bruce brought in one of our on-call doctors. By this time, I’d headed up to the medlab too to patch up a few cuts. The doctor whistled when he saw the state she was in – and he was used to us – and set about his work. Antibiotics, fluids and nutrient IVs, wounds cleaned and stitched, basic scans done. Result: she was definitely enhanced. She had severe internal and external injuries. She’d survive. He talked to Bruce quietly about sedative doses then arranged to send a nurse to help with the basic care and left.
Tony and Clint were back by now, Hydra agents handed over, data transferred for later research, so all of us stood over her and waited for each other to speak. It was Steve who started. “We have a duty to help her…” was all he managed before I said “she’s probably a killer. There’s almost certainly no humanity left. She’s a liability”. Steve looked at me and said what I’d been dreading: “so were you”. After that I didn’t have a leg to stand on and so I watched as they moved her down to a secure room, the nurse came in and cleaned her up, and the ball started rolling.
It was about a week later that she woke up. The nurse had been changing her IVs and shed’ been healing before our eyes thanks to the serum. The doctor could see no reason to keep her sedated so we’d thanked them, paid them off, and agreed to take turns keeping watch. It was Bruce’s turn when she finally woke and by the time Jarvis had the surveillance up on the screen, Steve and Tony had got down there and she had a broken piece of metal at Tony’s throat. Nat held me back from going down, pointing out that there was plenty of strength in that room to deal with her, and anyway, hadn’t I always wanted to have a weapon against Tony’s throat. We listened and watched as they talked to her calmly, then asked her name, and then she fainted. Once she’d dropped, Tony rubbed at his throat and all three looked awkward before Tony spoke. “OK, so, any bright ideas?” They tucked her up again and left, and we had yet another discussion about what the hell to do.
The next time she awoke, she was alone but Jarvis had been monitoring. Bruce and Steve went down, and Nat and I were watching on screens nearby. We saw her, well, do nothing. Come out of the bathroom, see them in there and then suddenly they were across the room. Nat and I were off and running long before we saw them stand up. Straight into the room, and straight in to her, knocking her over, and ready to kill. Steve and I had too much history and I saw red when I saw him in danger. If it hadn’t been Steve’s voice telling me to stand down, I probably wouldn’t have. I saw ‘threat’ and I acted instinctively, but his voice broke through, so I stopped and then all of a sudden we were giving her clothes and outside the room, where I stood and glowered as Bruce and Steve discussed next steps.
I did NOT trust her. Bruce had us all sitting in a little circle to make her feel at ease but I sat poised to jump and I knew she picked up on it. I saw her jump when Jarvis spoke and knew she was tensed, but so far she hadn’t attacked again. It was just a matter of time.
Over the next few weeks, she stayed in her room but awake. She ate and slept and people went in and out to talk to her and she looked relaxed but I knew it was fake. Jarvis was watching her, in addition to trying to identify her, but I spent long hours at the surveillance screen, looking for any sign of threat. Then Tony decided it’d be a great idea to get her out into the Tower. You can imagine my reaction – a Hydra weapon, a potential Hydra agent, free to wander? But everyone was taken with her by now, thinking she just needed a hug and some friendship and she’d be saved. Steve and I had a stand up shouting match about it, with him pointing out that I was no different to her, and me responding that that meant I knew how much danger she was. Seemed like I was on my own. I was glad when she freaked out leaving the room, it gave us a bit more time, but it also surprised me. She looked vulnerable, not something I was used to with Hydra, and suddenly I started seeing the kid she was, superimposed on the threat.
When she made it up to Bruce’s lab and Jarvis let us know she was going to be evaluated, I ran straight up the stairs rather than wait for the elevator. I wanted to see what she could do, but I also wanted to be there as protection. When I got there she was already running and she kept going so long we all started to relax, eating popcorn and making bets. Eventually Bruce got her to stop and she wasn’t even breathing hard. Then Tony got Steve lifting weights alongside her and we all started to realise just how enhanced this frail little broken kid was. Funnily, seeing that strip of nothing kid lifting weights made me feel more protective than I had when she’d been sedated and no danger.
When Nat challenged her to fight, every instinct said this was a bad idea. Running and lifting was one thing, facing off against a real opponent was another. I let them fight for a bit, both as good as each other, then decided I’d join in. I wanted her to know that I was there to protect my friends. What I didn’t expect was that she’d decide to take on both of us. Or that she’d win. Within a short time, I could see the blood lust rising and I knew her Hydra training was taking over. Alarm bells were ringing because she was GOOD, and when she hit us with some kind of mind power and we ended up on the wall, I thought that was it. Then I saw her blink herself back to reality and consciously reject her training, although it must have taken a hell of a lot of willpower. Knowing Hydra, she had built-in reflexes that were giving her immense amounts of pain and punishment for refusing a kill, but she didn’t show it, just did the right thing despite the personal cost. She let us down, unhurt, and I realised that maybe, just maybe, she could be OK.
I waited and watched her while everyone left and realised she was on the verge of panic again. I didn’t sense danger from her, just fear, and realised she was incapable of moving, so overloaded with pain and confusion. I helped her back to her room where she sat and shut down, a tactic I was used to from Hydra overload. I waited with her and watched, and started to rethink my earlier doubts. This girl was powerful. Strong enough to kill all of us. But she seemed desperate not to and she’d overridden Hydra training. Maybe she could be saved. When she looked up, I told her to shower and went to collect food for her, knowing that she’d need to be ordered around and treated functionally for a while. To get upstairs and find out they knew who she was was a shock – and then hearing her story was even more of a shock. Now I definitely could see her as just a kid. A tortured broken kid, who needed a second chance. At least when they’d taken me, I was an adult. I’d chosen to be a soldier. She was just a teenager who had mind powers Hydra wanted.
When I told her her name, I could see hope flash in her eyes, that she could be more than a weapon. We left her to read the research herself, but I couldn’t help watching on the monitors. I saw her read and cross-check everything, looking up occasionally as if to test what she was reading against her memory but getting frustrated. Then she hit the images and suddenly I was calling to the others that she was having some kind of fit. I’d thought sedation might help and it was only when she told Bruce that she’d been locked in her head as every memory flooded back that we realised what we’d done. Just from the few memories I had of my time with Hydra, most of them being wiped away, I knew the torment she must be feeling. Six years of torture and grief. I hadn’t trusted her when she knew what she’d been through, but now that she remembered everything, I made it my mission to save her.
After that, I spent every moment I could with the kid. I wanted her to know that it was possible to get free of Hydra in your head, and to find a new life. I felt her watching me and sure, I enjoyed a bit of her hero worship over the next few weeks and months. I knew she trusted me and felt safe with me, despite our rocky start. She knew I understood but didn’t pity. When she decided to throw herself into her new mission of worldwide Hydra destruction, I had to ask the others to help. She couldn’t see that it was impractical, or dangerous, and she didn’t realise that she had to find more to her life than that. I spent more and more time with her and watched the humour start to come out, despite the fear. I liked her, a lot.
I’d thought I saw her as a little sister, right up until Nat got her dressed up and fancy for Steve’s ‘be a person’ plan. Heck, she was not a kid. I’d been so used to seeing the skinny and fearful, broken toothed and raggedy haired wretch that I hadn’t noticed she was gaining weight – and curves – her scars were fading and she was not a kid. She was beautiful. Sure she looked awkward and uncomfortable and ready to kill, but the fact she had no clue what she was like was endearing. I saw the others staring at her in surprise but she stuck by me. I kept my leg pressed against hers throughout dinner and felt hers shaking with nerves but gradually settling as she drank a fair bit of wine. When she fell asleep against me, I’d had a fair bit to drink too and it made me realise that I was in pretty deep now. I still felt protective, but the way I was feeling now was a long way from what a brother should feel.

Wow. The oneshots (?) where the creeps falling in love with the girl, but she is already in a relationship with another creep, was amazing. I especially love the one with hoodie and EJ. Could you maybe do a full story? Maybe the girl is confused about why hoodie doesn't visit any more and asks Ej about is? Or maybe thr same story that you already did but the girl in a relationship with hoodie, but this time EJ likes her?
“I’m not sure, angel. I’m sure it’s nothing.” Jack was lying through his teeth, and since he didn’t do that very often, she picked up on it immediately. Why did he feel the need to lie? What was going on? She sat up in bed and looked at him, somewhat irritated now. Her best friend had suddenly stopped coming by, and Jack knew something about it...why wouldn’t he just tell her?
“Jack.” She stated his name somewhat coldly. The tone of voice made him internally cringe somewhat, the same way a child would when their parent calls them inside by their full name.
“Yes?” He opened his eyelids and looked up at her, and the look on her features made him want to close them again.
“What happened? Why did Hoodie stop visiting?” There was a long pause after her questions.
“Why does it matter so much to you?” He swallowed the lump in his throat, the fear and sorrow that had been plaguing him since that day. He had been so worried he was going to lose her, and now it seemed that worry would come true.
“Because I miss him. He’s fun to be around.” She stated simply.
“And I’m not?” He whined.
“I didn’t say anything remotely close to that, Jack!” she argued, and her harsh tone made him visibly flinch. She sighed.
“What is this really about? Just tell me the truth.” she pleaded, a bit softer this time.
“I...I told him to stay away.” Jack finally answered.
“What? Why would you do that?” she demanded indignantly, oblivious to the clear and obvious reason for it.
“If he means that much to you, why don’t you just go stay with him?!” Jack raised his voice as he turned away, avoiding the question. “He’s better for you anyway!” the demonic medic growled and buried his face in the nearest pillow.
His angel wasn’t quite as adept at picking up on Jack’s hidden worry like Hoodie was; in fact, it flew right over her head. Instead, she took the words at face value and got angry.
“Maybe I will! At least he’s kind and would let me have friends! And he wouldn’t lie to my face about things!” With that, she threw the blanket off her legs and grabbed her shoes. Before long, she was headed out into the Dark Wood in search of Hoodie. She had no clue where to find him or how, but her anger and stubbornness didn’t let her turn back as hot tears poured down her face.
------------------
“You’re kidding, right?” Masky raised a brow as Toby laughed.
“N-nope. I r-really tried to f-fight an alligat-tor.” The younger proxy lifted his damaged arm that had been clearly mauled by something with sharp teeth. Masky sighed as he physically guided Toby’s arm to cross back over his chest.
“I hope you learned your lesson.”
“Y-yup! I j-just lost a ch-challenge. I g-gotta get stronger, and w-win next tim-me!” Toby grinned ear to ear and was practically bouncing with excitement despite Masky’s deadpan expression.
“No, you have to not make this mistake again!” the masked man almost face-palmed at the twitching brunet, who just laughed again in response. They were almost to Jack’s MedLab; they could just barely see it in the distance. Just ahead, a figure stepped out of the darkness, continuing down their path in their direction. The two proxies easily recognized the medic’s love.
“Hey, what are you doing out here?” Masky stopped her with a hand on her shoulder. She looked up at him with puffy, red-rimmed eyes.
“Where’s Hoodie?” she answered with a question of her own.
“Out s-somewhere...he sh-should be b-back at the cabin by the time we get-t back.” Toby answered with a shrug. She nodded, looking about to cry again. Masky directed Toby to go ahead to the MedLab on his own, since it was close and Toby was showing no signs of slowing down due to the blood loss. Masky himself took her back to their cabin, confident that Toby would find his own way back when he was patched up and ready.
As Toby had predicted, when Masky walked in with her Hoodie was sitting on the couch reading a book about identifying various poisonous and medicinal plants around the forest. He didn’t look up at first; though he was aware of two people entering, he was under the impression that it was Masky and Toby. Then he heard her sniffle, and that caught his attention.
His eyes widened and he put his book on the table without even marking his page as he wandered over to her, asking what happened. Masky snuck off to the kitchen to give them some space.
She explained what Jack had said, then turned to Hoodie for answers as he held her in his arms and rubbed her back soothingly.
“He told me to stay away from you because I have feelings for you. I told him before anyone else, because I wanted to find a solution to it...but he was so worried about losing you that I guess he couldn’t think of a better way.” Hoodie explained softly. He was trying to cast Jack in a better light here - he didn’t want to be the reason the two of them split up.
“You...love me?” she asked as she pulled away just enough to look into his eyes.
“So much...but I’m willing to bet he loves you more than I do.” Hoodie pushed some hair back from her face and looked at her. “He needs you. He may be too stubborn to admit it, but it’s true. I’m alright just being your best friend.” He smiled at her, and she smiled back as she buried her face in his chest and held him tighter.
“Thank you.” she mumbled. He nodded and kissed her forehead, then they both turned as they heard the front door open.
“Heeeeeeere’s T-Toby!” the brunet announced himself, and they both chuckled at the younger proxy’s antics. Toby walked in and held the door open with his now-bandaged arm so that someone else could come in behind him.
Jack walked in, somehow looking both sheepish and distraught with his eyes downcast. He whined miserably when he saw her, his heart aching to hold her while his mind screamed that she must be with Hoodie by now.
Hoodie pushed her toward him, and that was all the prompt she needed to approach the eyeless medic and embrace him. The blue-masked man seemed a bit startled, but he returned the hug eagerly and pulled her close.
“I’m sorry, angel,” He whispered. “I love you. I love you so much, please come home,” he continued to say these things to her, hoping to convince her to forgive him. She interrupted his rant by lifting his mask above his lips and planting a kiss on them, which he happily melted into.
“I love you too, Jack.” She smiled. He started to purr quietly as they held each other, and Hoodie filled Jack in on the situation. They agreed that Hoodie could still be her friend and come by the MedLab like he used to, and Jack would work to be a little less overprotective of his love...
//...and they all lived happily ever after, haha. c: //

Shepard: You ever go on any missions like ours before?
Wrex: Saving the galaxy from certain destruction? No. But I’ve had my share of adventures.
Shepard: Remember any that stick out?
Wrex: A few. I remember one time I was hired by a volus diplomat. What an ass.
Shepard: I guess even politicians have need of mercs from time to time, huh?
Wrex: Time to time? If it wasn’t for politicians, I’d be out f work. They’re always looking for ways to get ahead. This one was no different.
ahh, good old politicking and backstabbing, a galactic constant. makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
the mission was pretty simple - the volus wanted his past erased, and all indication of his previous dealings wiped, in particular, he wanted an “old friend” gotten rid of - who turned out to be an asari commando.

god, i fucking love wrex.
aleena and wrex met on a job, tracking the same fugitive over a period of days,  and the job ended in a tie, with both of them bringing back different parts of the turian felon to show as proof of a job well done, and on accepting this assignment, wrex went to aleena to tell her about it.
Wrex: She and I had a good laugh about it.
god, i fucking love wrex.

:’)
Wrex: For two days, I chased her through that station. Used my entire store of ammunition. Had to kill a bunch of mercs and use their crap weapons. By the third day, the station was barely holding together. The mercs were dead or gone, life support was failing. But I had her. She’d locked herself in the medlabs. Trying to patch herself up. Damn tough, that one.
Wrex: Then just when I thought I had her, the station’s core went critical. barely made it back to my ship in time.
Shepard: I assume the asari commando didn’t make it.
Wrex: I watched the station from a distance. I never saw her leave. nNd when that place blew... there was nothing left larger than a turian’s right nut. So, I headed back to the diplomat to give him the good news and collect my pay.; But before I got halfway there, Aleena sent me a message: “Better luck next time.”
Wrex: Now, I’m not superstitious, but if someone can survive that, well... they deserve to live. At least for a bit longer.
wrex told the diplomat the truth of what happened, and stayed on as a bodyguard until he died - of natural causes, he adds. “easiest job i ever had,” he says, and i absolutely believe him.
it’s conversations like this that remind me how much i adore wrex as a character. he’s so simple, but so believable despite it. fighting and money? fuck yeah. kinda softhearted underneath it all? fuck yeah.

hurt prompts: 'i've got you. just stay awake. can you do that for me?' for andi x jaal
Title: Talk to meRating: T for mild violenceRelationship: Pre-Jaal x F!RyderSummary: The crew gets ambushed by some eirochs, Jaal takes the worst of it.
Read on AO3!
“Jaal took a bad hit!  I think he’s down!”
 “Shit!  Shit shit shit!”
Andi ducked and rolled away under the massive eiroch’s arm as it swiped at her and cast a glance of her shoulder.  Vetra paced backwards and unloaded her assault rifle into the other beast. It faltered from the rapid fire and bled heavily from a large wound across its belly. Jaal must have gotten hit while gutting it. The angara was lying against a wall of rock and struggling to sit up. The blue-splattered crack above him told her he’d hit it hard.
“Stay down, Jaal!  We got this!” Andi yelled and dodged to the side as the eiroch charged her.  If he replied, she didn’t hear it.
She emptied her shotgun into the soft red flesh on its side. She jumped backwards onto a large rock to make distance as she reloaded and cocked it for another assault.  The eiroch roared in pain and rage and charged wildly at her. She leaped high into the air as it crashed through the stone and charged her omni-blade to full length and power. She came down hard atop its back and used the force to drive the blade through its thick plated skull. It screeched and reared, dislodging and throwing her into a tumble across the ground, before falling dead.
She got back up and searched around for the second eiroch to find it dead at Vetra’s feet.  The turian was breathing heavily as she holstered her rifle, but seemed otherwise no worse for the wear.  Andi gave Vetra a nod and a thumbs up before holstering her own weapon and jogging over to check on Jaal.
“Vetra, call Kallo for an extraction!”  She knelt down next to Jaal and helped him lean forward so she could see the damage.  The back of his head was painted blue with his blood, and still bleeding heavily from a large gash.  She felt around the wound, checking his skull.
He flinched sharply and raised a hand to defend it from her ministrations.
“Talk to me, big guy,” she murmured and readied a syringe of medigel.  “How are you?”
“Dizzy,” he groaned and massaged his forehead.  “Nauseous. My head feels like it’s splitting open.”
“It’s not quite that bad, but…”
“What… what happened?”  Jaal blinked sleepily at the two dead eirochs.
“You took a bad hit into the rock behind you,” Vetra answered as she approached them.  Her mandibles twitched.irritably and she scowled “Bad news, Pathfinder. The Tempest won’t be able to extract us for several hours.  We’ll be better off driving back.”
Andi’s head whipped around.  “What? Why not?”
“Someone thought it was a good time to dismantle and “improve” the fuel pump,” Kallo answered drily through the comm .
“I didn’t think they’d need an extraction this soon, usually they’re off doing their thing until nightfall,” Gil’s voice snapped, defensive.
“Well, I didn’t think we’d get ambushed by two giant monsters, but shit happens, and we need to be ready for it,” Andi snarled and gestured for Vetra to end the call.  “SAM, get me Lexi on the line.”
“Of course, Andi.  Patching you through.”
“What happened?  I heard someone was injured.”
“We got ambushed, and Jaal took a bad hit to the back of his head.  It’s bleeding really badly. I think he’s got a concussion too.”
“Head wounds always bleed much worse than they are.  Medigel will stop it, and prevent any infection. As for the concussion, there’s not much you can do for him on the field.  Monitor his condition and try to get back here as soon as you can. I’ll consult with the doctor here at the port and have the medlab ready for him.  Call me back if he seems to be getting worse.”
“Okay.”  Lexi’s calm demeanor took the edge off her anger and anxiety, and she let out the breath she hadn’t realized she’d been holding.  “Thanks, Lexi.”
Vetra knelt down beside them and pulled the woozy angara forward for Andi to apply the medigel.  He let out a pained hiss as the antiseptic sealed his wounds. The bleeding stopped instantly, but his rofjinn was definitely going to need a thorough cleaning when they got back.
“Let’s get him to the Nomad.  The sooner we get back, the better.”  Vetra took his arm around her shoulder.  “On three.”
Andi nodded and slipped under his other arm.  They got him upright with minimal trouble, and he seemed able to keep himself there. “Can you walk?”
“Yes.”  Jaal nodded and then winced.  “Maybe. I think so.”
Vetra let go and unholstered her assault rifle.  “I’ll take point and watch for anymore creatures.  You cover him.”
 “Right.  Sounds good.”
They made their way back to the entrance of the large cave.  It was slow going on the uneven, rocky ground. Jaal stumbled frequently, and only Andi’s firm grip around his waist kept him from toppling completely.  He leaned heavily on her, and by the time they reached the mouth of the cave–without any encounters–they were both breathing harshly.
“How are you doing, Jaal?” she asked as they waited for Vetra to give the all clear.
“Tired,” he mumbled and swayed when she adjusted her grip.  “Want to sleep.”
“You can sleep in the Nomad.  We’re almost there,” she said and held on tighter.  “Just need to stay awake a little bit longer. Can you do that for me, big guy?”
Jaal made a noise that she took as an affirmative, and they set off again as Vetra waved them forward.  The Nomad was parked just outside the entrance, and had thankfully not been found by scavengers or exiles.  It was a struggle to get Jaal up into the cabin, with Vetra supporting his bulk from behind and Andi helping to pull him in.  He stumbled forward over the last step, and the momentum landed him on top of her on the padded bench seat in the back.
Vetra climbed in after them and chuckled.  Andi could only imagine how she looked, beet-red and trapped with the angara sprawled across her lap.  Jaal moved into a more comfortable position across the bench and looked ready to fall asleep at any minute. Vetra pulled the cab door shut behind her and climbed up into the driver’s seat, ignoring Andi’s plaintive look for help.
 “H-hey!”
“Don’t worry, I know how to drive one of these,” Vetra called back and started the ignition.  “You take care of him. SAM, plot the quickest route back to Kadara port.”
  “Setting your nav point.”
“That’s not what I–”  Andi made a frustrated sound and slowly shifted until her legs weren’t trapped at an awkward angle beneath him. There was no good place for her hands except on top of him, but given his current lack of concern for personal space, she didn’t think he’d mind.  “Talk to me, Jaal. Still with us?”
“I hate Kadara,” Jaal muttered unhappily into the crease of her hip.
She ran a hand along the curve of his cowl and sighed.  “I know, big guy. I know.”

What’s In a Name | Commission
For @momopeachchild
Some how, some way, the Alpha crew had been brought together in Rec Room 8. McCoy was there as well, as he was often working in Medlab when Alpha shift was on. Why? Jim usually had alpha shift, and if anyone was going to be caring for the idiot when he inevitably harmed himself in some manner, it might as well be the one who’d been patching him up from the start. Kirk claimed they were gathered to help form team bonds. If they were going to work together, they needed to know each other, right?
McCoy rolled his eyes as Jim passed around another round of drinks, and he paused briefly to scrutinize their young Russian pilot. When the hell was the kid’s birthday? Was he allowed to be drinking? Downing another mint julep, he shook his head. It didn’t matter now, he and Scotty were downing their respective drinks like they were water. Or maybe the kid was drinking water? Ah who knew..
“So,” Jim started, turning to their youngest member. “I have a question for you, Chekov.” “Please, call me Pavel when we are not on duty, Keptain.” “Then by all means, call me Jim!”
“Okay, Jim. What is your question?”
“How in the hell did you end up with your middle name? What is it? Andrevich?” “Andreivich,” He corrected and sipped his drink. “It is a Russian tradition that the middle name of the child be relating to their father. Andreivich means "Son of Andre”, or something like that. Were I born a girl, I would be Polina Andreyevna Chekov. ‘Daughter of Andre’. It tells you to which Chekov  I am related. But if you want to hear an odd middle name, ask Mister Scott his!”
“Laddie,” he warned, but the curly haired navigator merely beamed at him, and he had to resign himself to the fact that no matter what he said, he would be asked.
“Well?” Jim prompted, refilling his glass for him.
“My full name is Montgomery Christopher Jorgensen Scott, Jr. Christopher was my father’s da, and Jorgensen was my Mam’s maiden name.” He explained, downing his scotch once more. He and the kid had a contest going on to see who could hold their respective drinks better.
Jim gave a nod, rather satisfied by that answer and grinned. “I’m named after my grandfathers. James Tiberius Kirk.” he sighed softly and smiled, sipping his. “Hey, Bones! Didn’t you say yours was “Horatio”? What is that about?”
“It’s a respectable name,” he gruffed, shaking his head. “And no weirder than "Tiberius”!“ He sipped his drink again and glared at his best friend, shaking his head.
"My mother thought it’d be romantic. Okay?” He huffed, ears turning a little red as he took a large gulp of his drink. “Read too many damned old books. Rest her soul..”
Jim gave another nod and stroked his chin, turning to Uhura and grinned. “And what about you, my dear linguist?”
“What about me?”
“What’s your middle name?”
“Does it matter?”
“We’re all sharing, c’mon!”
“Will you leave me alone the rest of the night?”
“Maaaybe.”
“Fine.”
Bouncing a little, Jim was the picture of utter attention and focus, and McCoy coughed to hide his laughter. he’d seen that look too many times when the blonde had tried to get him to ditch his assignments and go out with him.
“My full name is Nyota Upenda Uhura. In Swahili ‘Nyota’ means  ’freedom, ‘Upenda’ means ‘love’, and ‘Uhura’ means ‘Star’.”
“No, really what is it?” Tossing her hands up, she stormed off to sit next to Sulu and away from Jim, hoping that by watching the pilot and Spock play 3d chess, she’d somehow avoid further questions.
“Sulu! What’s your middle name?”
“Sato.”
Chekov giggled a little and smiled. “Sulu, Hikaru Sato!” He grinned and the pilot rolled his eyes fondly. He wasn’t sure why the Russian preferred to say his name that way, but whatever made him happy.
“Yup.”
Jim perked up again and tilted his head. “Any particular meaning to it?”
“Nope.”
“Well that’s lame.”
“I know.” “What about you, Spock? You’re the only one left!”
“I see no point to this, Captain. If you wished to know, it is in my file.”
“That’s not the point! I could look any of this up, but the fun part is you telling us.”
"That is highly illogical. Checkmate, Mister Sulu.”
“I know what it is!” McCoy offered, grinning widely. “I stare your medical file enough.”
“Oh what is it?”
God he was like a kid at Christmas, wasn’t he? Looking expectantly at him, he pointed to his, now, empty glass and waited for Jim to make him another one. Settling back once it was firmly in hand, he gave a lazy smile.
“S’chn T’gai Spock. His father’s name is S’chn T’gai Sarek. I’m going to assume it’s a family name?”
“Yes.”
Oh the eyebrow quirked slightly and he smiled wider.
“Betcha thought I couldn’t say it, ya green-blooded hobgoblin.”
“I am surprised, I must admit.”
“Good.” The Vulcan turned back to start another game with Nyota, and Jim seemed satisfied, though the night wasn’t quite working out like he thought. Maybe he could bribe the kid into distracting the blonde so he could make his escape. Or he could just threaten Jim with a check up. Or..maybe he should stay, given that Jim was now trying to drink Scotty and Chekov under the table via Romulan ale. If he had to place money on it, he’d say none of them would last very long.
He’d have to remember to get the recording of tonight later, because it would be great to show certain persons video evidence of their captain getting drunk under the table by an almost forty year old, and a nineteen year old.
Shifting on the sofa to get a better view, Leonard picked up a glass of water, wanting to remember every second of this.

Part 1 - Part 2
Here is Part 3 for ‘Back In Action’!
The search begins, and the team make a startling discovery...
I hope you enjoy!
--
The ship moved into the docking bay of the strange station and it settled down next to the other ship, the thrusters kicking up a strange amount of dirt and dust before it settled down.  The door opened and the four started to head out, Sparks activating his eye-light while Zech held his arm up, giving off a glow from his gauntlet.   The team looked around the docking bay; it was dead quiet and dimly lit with faint running lights, very little power seemed to be running, powering the lights and the forcefield dome covering the docking bay, providing a breathable, if not stale, atmosphere for the team to breath.
Sparks scanned the area slowly.  "Well, if that Gorm is here, then I'd say this seems like the perfect place to hide."
Phin grumbled, looking around with a grimace.  "If I had a uni for every creepy, dark and abandoned looking place we ever visited..."
Sparks headed over to the other ship, or rather the remains of a ship. It was about the same size as the Leviathan, but much of it was missing; the hull plating was nearly all gone, the engines were dismantled and it looked like major components had been stripped out. "Is this the same ship the group were using?" Sparks asked.
"I would imagine so." Tero said, speaking through the comms as he stayed on the bridge at his station, watching the team on the monitors. "Even with much of the ship missing, the configuration does seem to be a match."
"What the heck happened though?" Zech asked, "I know some ships can be dismantled to form emergency shelters and equipment, but-"
"It wasn't that." Phineas interrupted, a frown on his face as he looked over the ship's remains.  "She's been cannibalized."  He walked over to the open hatch and looked inside, "It was like someone started to break her down, not just for spare parts but for raw materials as well."
"Like they were building something?" Zech asked, "Or repairing something?"
That was a chilling thought and the team was quiet. "So someone could be in here setting this all up." Nix said.
Sparks nodded.  "That -does- mean that that the missing team is inside this place."  All eyes turned to look at the dark entrance into the station proper. "Somewhere." There was some tension, but it wasn't anything they hadn't faced before. There was a moment of hesitation before the started to head into the darkened hallways.
It was hard to shake the intense creepiness that the whole lace seemed to emit.  The silence was only broken by their own footsteps as well as the creaking of metal that seemed to echo through the long hallways.
"Look at this place." Phineas said as he moved in to get a closer look, his angler light reflecting off the dirty metal.  "This place looks like it's been through hell...all of the plating is mismatched and discolored, the hallways bend in weird ways and there are so many hallways that just seem to stop at dead-ends.  It's like this whole place was torn apart and slammed back together again."
"Maybe that's exactly what happened." Zech said, looking around, "Maybe this whole base was built or patched up with all that scrap that's been floating around.  Or whatever's in here has just been eating up passing ships."
"Not funny, kid."
"Let's just hope that this place does holds up and together." Nix commented, just as more creaking filled the hallway as a unsettling reminder.
They continued forward, still with no sign of any change of direction for quite a while before they finally came to an intersection where the halls weren't obstructed.
The four looked at the new pathways, each knowing what was coming.  "Looks like we're splitting up." Sparks said. The others quietly groaned at the suggestion, but only Zech spoke up. "Really don't like that idea at all..."
"Me neither." Phin said, "Who the heck knows where we'd end up."
Sparks nodded and he activated his comm. "Hey Tero, anyway you can figure out where we're going?"
"Impossible to say."  Tero reported back, the holo-image crackling and distorting a bit.  "There is a lot of heavy interference from the cloud here as well as from the asteroid base's composition.  Unless you find some kind of uplink or map schematics, there's nothing more I can do from here."
"Guess that means we split up." Zech said, doing his best to keep his nervousness down.
Phineas just groaned out.  "Whether we want to or not."
Sparks nodded, "Phin and I can head down right, Nix and Zech head left."
Nix nodded slowly, "Keep in touch, and if anything happens at all, we head back here and back to the ship."
"No argument here." Phin said and the team split up, heading down their opposite ways.
The two groups separated and moved in deeper into the base. Slowly, they started to enter into areas that seemed much more recognizable as an actual station, though it was still dark and dirty with the only lighting coming from emergency lights.
"Looks like we're coming into some kind of command deck." Sparks spoke up, moving his light around to get a better look at their area.  "Lotta computers and screens around here, but maybe we can find a working terminal and get a map sorted out!"
"Doesn't look too great though." Phineas said, "A lot of these are damaged and hell if I know there's even enough power to get one of these things working."
"Well that's something at least." Nix said, "Our end looks nearly dead.  Most of the doors are locked or have been sealed shut."
"The power readings are also fluctuating irregularly." Tero reported in, "You should be careful that you don't end up in an area where the gravity or life support shuts off suddenly."
Zech shuddered, "Yeah, great thought there..." He said as he looked around. "It's weird...so far the whole place looks like it was pieced together with spare parts, but some of the rooms we can see in look like they've been stripped down like that ship.  They should have some computers or terminals or something, but they look like they were just ripped out."
Phineas gave Sparks a worried look before he moved over to one of the terminals in their area and started to work at it. "So...areas in this place have been stripped, along with the ship in the hanger, maybe even more that we don't know about.  That tells me that there has to be a spot that this is all going to."
"Knowing what we know of this Viktor, then it's likely he's set up in a medlab or such."  Tero said, "Linking into the network would make this a lot easier. That is assuming you can even find something that works there."
Phineas grumbled, "Yeah yeah, we're trying. Don't get your fur tangled."
"I'm not the one in a potential death trap."
"And we don't need reminding of that!" Zech said.
"I may have found something finally." Phin said, finding a terminal that was actually intact, but unpowered.  He tapped at it a few times, grumbling a bt as he followed the cords over to a wall.  He tapped at it a few times before digging his claws into it and ripping the whole panel off, finding a box that the wires were connecting to.  "'Bout time.  Hey Sparkster, mind giving this thing a jolt?"
Sparks looked over before he moved over. "Huh?  Oh sure.  Sure it's a good idea?"
"It's a power junction node." Phin said as be moved back to the terminal, "You should give it enough juice to get this thing started, and it looks mostly intact we shouldn't have any burnouts or explosions."
"Shouldn't."  Tero said flatly.
Phin rolled his eyes, "How long have we been doing this?"
"I shudder to think."
"Alright you two."  Nix scolded.
Despite the unease of their situation, Zech couldn't help but smile; it really did sound like things were back to normal and the minor squabbling was kind of nice to hear again.
Sparks grinned before he put his hand up to the box and gave it a good shot of his electricity. The lights on it sprang to life and there was a loud humming coming from it just as the computer terminal started up as well.
"Bingo, that's done it." Phin smiled with satisfaction and started to tap away.  "Now...with any luck we'll have enough here to get at least a map, then maybe Tero can start being useful."
Tero snorted. "You better hope you won't need any medical attention-"
"Alright, info's coming your way." Phin interrupted him as he found what they were looking for.  "Is there any kind of terminal near you, kid?  Can send this to you two if you can get access."
"Uhm...maybe?"  Zech said as he and Nix entered one of the only open doors, entering a strange room.  "Finally found a room that hasn't been completely stripped down."
"Looks like it's being used for storage or garbage."  Nix said as they entered, looking around.  "Lot of crates here filled with what could be building materials and spare parts."
"I think I see something we can use though." Zech said and he moved over to the far wall, pulling out his own computer as he found a console. "Okay, finally found one that works."
"Right, sending the info over."  Phin said, tapping away before he and Sparks both paused when they heard something; a strange metallic thumping.  "What the heck...?"
"Wait, you heard that too?" Zech asked.
"Uh..."  Sparks scanned around the room, "Well we heard something."
"A kind of thumping sound?"
"Yeah, but it was definitely from our end..." Phin said.
"...so was ours."  Zech and Nix looked at each other.  "Maybe we should-"
Suddenly there was a loud crashing behind Sparks and Phineas, causing the two to spin around to see something dropping down from the ceiling. Huddled on the floor was a form that slowly rose up to it's full height.  It was the Narth from the missing team, but he had been heavily altered with crude cybernetics, making him look...wrong.  His lower set of arms had been replaced with robotic arms, and most of his upper arms have been implanted with more cybernetics. His feet were also replaced and he had parts and tubes jutting out of his legs.  Half of his face was covered up with more metal, one eye replaced with a glowing red scanner while the other eye was almost lifeless.  His chest was covered with some kind of metal plating, and he had some kind of collar around his neck with tubing connecting to the cybernetics on his head.
Both Sparks and Phineas gasped out in horror.  "What the hell...?!"
The Narth's red eye started to move and it seemed to focus on them, staring at them before he moved, throwing his arms out to the side and long metallic claws shot out from his finger tips.
Sparks yelled.  "MOVE!" They dove to either side as the Narth lunged for them, crashing into the computer as his arms swung wildly, slashing and tearing it apart as he tried to reach for them.
Phineas immediately turned  and fired off a blast at the Narth trying to catch him, but he grabbed some debris at his feet and threw it and intercepting the shot.  He red eye focused on the Shkeel, but that opened a window for Sparks; and he fired off several low-powered shots to try and stun him.  The shots connected, the Narth didn't seem to even flinch, instead refocusing his attention to him.  His mechanical arms extended out and the claws dug into the metal walls behind him and tore off several large jagged strips and hurled them at him.   "Oh crud-!"  He jumped and flipped backwards, letting the panel fly past him by an inch.
"Sparks! Phin!" Nix shouted, "What's going on?!"
At that moment, there was a loud crashing of metal behind Nix and Zech.  They spun towards the source and saw a form walking out from a hole in the metal wall opposite. This form was of the Razorwiing of the missing group; a rooster that was heavily modified as well.  He walked with heavy footsteps; the sounds of the mechanics echoing in the room from heavy metallic feet that looked better suited for a mech than any being, many tubes were in his legs and connected to some kind of pack on his back.  One of his arms was replaced with a collection of mechanics to move what looked like a large metal ball or mace head.  Part of his head was completed covered with tech and on one side where the headphones should was something that looked like a radar dish, and his eye was replaced by an optical sensor with a laser pointer shining through the dust and smoke, all with wires connecting them and into his neck.
"What is that?!"  Nix gasped out along with Zech, but the sound seemed to catch the Razorwing's attention.  His head snapped in their direction and he started to march forward, stopping when he reached a giant metal crate and he actually kicked it with enough force to send it flying towards them.
"Look out!"  Both Zech and Nix had to dive out of the way as the heavy metal box crashed into the fall wall with enough force to smash the computer terminal and leave a dent in the wall.
Zech tucked and rolled, getting up to one knee and he launched a blast out from his gauntlet, but the Razorwing turned and brought his heavy ball-hand up, catching the blast and deflecting it away. That gave Nix an opening.  She was on her feet and she ran forward, jumping up and launching a kick into the Razorwing's back.  There was an odd grinding sound and some black liquid leaked out from his back, but surprisingly he was still up.  With a heavy step back, he moved and swung his ball arm out, forcing Nix to jump backwards, avoiding the swing.
Zech tried to move behind him to get another shot off, but the Razorwing used his momentum to swing his arm all the way around, this time the large ball launched from his arm and flew right at him. "Oh crap!"  Zech quickly teleported out of the way as the ball slammed into the wall.
"Zech!" Nix yelled out before she caught sight of the hybrid safely out of harm's way, but they both watched as the rooster pulled the ball back with an attached energy tether and started swinging it around.  It crashed through the piles of junk and supplies, sending it scattering as it tried to slam into the two. Zech teleported out of the way, reaching Nix and grabbing hold of her to teleport again before the large metal ball connected to either of them before it crashed into the wall again with enough force to cause the metal panel to buckle.
"How are we suppose to fight this?"  Zech asked. Nix twitched, "I don't know if we can, not without the others!"  She activated her comm, "Sparks! Phin!  We have a problem down here."
"We have a problem up here too!"  Sparks yelled out as he fired off several shots at the Narth before he and Phineas ducked down behind several desks and consoles as the Narth slashed at them with one set of arms and throwing the computers at them with another.  "This guy is not letting up at all!"
"We need to regroup!" Nix said after she and Zech ducked down as more debris was launched at them, Zech doing his best to give them covering fire. "Can you guys make it towards us?"
"I don't-" Sparks started to say before Phineas instead shouted out, "Sure as hell gonna try!"  He was charging up a shot before he jumped back out of the cover and took aim. "Whoa!" Sparks yelled out, "Hold up!  You can't-!"
"Can and will!"  Phin fired off a more powerful blast at the Narth, striking him hard enough to cause him to recoil backwards, but surprisingly enough not fall down.  That seemed to shock the Shkeel for a moment, but he shook himself out as Sparks shouted out, "Let's go!"
They made a run for the door as the Narth recovered from the stun.  He lurched forward towards them as the two made it out, Sparks spinning around to smack the door controls, making the door slam shut. "Outta the way!" Phin shouted out and blasted the door controls.
"Holy crap!" Sparks said, looking at the smoking controls for a moment before looking over at his friend. "What was that, Phin?  We're here to rescue these guys, not blast them!"
"I know that!" Phin said, "But he was soaking up what we were throwing at him, even that last blast didn't stop him for long! We're gonna need something a bit heavier if we-"
There was a loud slam from the door, causing the two to jump.  They turned to see several dents appearing in the door as the Narth tried to break his way through. "You have got to be kidding me!"  Phineas yelled out.
Sparks turned to him, "C'mon!  We gotta reach the others and help them before this guy gets out!"
"Don't have to tell me twice!"
Nix and Zech weren't having it so easy.  The Razorwing was keeping them moving as it kicked large chunks of debris at them along with throwing the mace head around, sending debris flying everywhere and reducing their cover as well as safe terrain. Zech did have an idea though.  "Nix!  can we get the door closed from here?"
"I can try-"  Nix said, jumping back and avoiding the mace as it slammed into the floor where she was.  "Keep him busy!"
"Easier said than done!" Zech said, moving around to try and flank him, firing off several blasts into his arm.  "Hey!  come at me ugly!"   The Razorwing seemed to ignore him as he focused on Nix, but by the sixth shot he did finally turn, swinging his arm and launching the mace right at him.  Zech gulped, but he managed to get down as the ball slammed into more of the crates, sending more junk around.
"Alright!" Nix reached the door and found the controls, "Come on!"
"Get the door and get out!" Zech shouted back at her, "I've got this guy's attention!"
"You can't-!"  She shouted out, but she saw the rooster turn towards her, so Zech had to fire off another blast at him to keep him distracted.  "GO!" Nix hesitated, but she hit the door controls and ducked out as the door slammed closed.
Zech had to get out next.  As the rooster launched his mace again, the hybrid teleported out of the way and ran for the door. He blasted the controls before he finally teleported out just as mace struck the door. The two jumped and looked back to see a large bulging dent in the metal.
The two were in stunned silence, catching their breath before Nix spoke up.  "I almost forgot you could do that."
"Well...it has been a while?" Zech said, looking over to her and grinning.
Nix let out a small laugh just as they heard movement up the hall, catching sight of the others.
"Are you guys alright?" Sparks asked as they reached them.
"We're okay," Nix said, "We encountered one of the missing team, but he's been heavily modified."
"You too?" Sparks asked, looking even more concerned.  "We found one too, but he got altered pretty bad."
Phin was panting a bit harder than the others, actually leaning over trying to catch his breath. "That...Gorm bastard is... he used them in his screwed-up experiments!"
Tero had been quiet during the whole incident, but now he finally spoke up. "Were any of you able to get any kind of scans or data on them?"
Phin actually snapped at that, "Oh geez, we -totally- didn't think of that while we were -FIGHTING FOR OUR LIVES-!"  He grumbled out, "For the love-"
"Easy Phin."  Sparks said, patting him on the shoulder, "I think I have some I can transmit over."
Tero snorted, "I would like to see something, from the sounds of it you barely did anything to them.  Any kind of analysis I can get might help you lot actually get out alive."
"Anything would help us right now," Zech said, "We got these guys cornered, but I dunno how long that will-" Zech stopped suddenly, he and the others went quiet as they heard a heavy sound from up the hallway.  They all turned and something coming towards them.
It was a third; the missing Needlix, just as heavily modified as the other two were.  She had reinforced cybernetics on her legs with large wheels, causing her footsteps to ring loudly through the area  Two large plates could be seen on her arms with exhaust ports sticking out, and a scanning eye-visor on her face with a red laser that was moving around erratically until it stopped a few times as it took aim at the team.
"You have got to be kidding me!"  This time the team didn't hesitate. Sparks and Phin opened fire, but the Needlix threw her arms up, the blasts catching on the heavy armor, actually deflecting the shots and sending them into the walls and ceiling.  There was the sound of loud hissing as the wheels on her feet activated, slamming down to the ground before they started to rev up.
"The hell are we gonna do?!" Phineas yelled out, "We ain't got the room to maneuver here and she's gonna ram us!"
"Head down the hall." Tero spoke up, "There's an emergency forcefield back down this way.  If anything, you should be able to hold them off there.  Just make sure you get a scan of them for me."
"Right!" Sparks shouted,  "You two get going while we lay down suppressing fire!"
"Hell..." Zech grumbled, but he pulled out his VI as he and Nix started to run down the hall, reaching the area where they found the emergency controls.  "Okay, c'mon guys!"
Sparks and Phin started to back up, still firing shots at the Needlix, but there was a loud and heavy sound coming from her as the wheels started to smoke and heavy smoke was coming out of the exhaust ports.
"She's gonna ram us!"  Phin yelled out and started to charge his cannon.
"Let's go!"  Sparks said and the two turned and started to run.  The screeching of the tires seemed to fill the room as the Needlix started to rush forward, smoking trailing behind her.
"She's comin' right at us!"  Phin yelled out and he turned, firing off the blast at the ceiling and letting the debris fall between them.  There was a lot of noise from the other side as the pieces fell down and blocked the path, but the Needlix starts to punch through it, sending more shrapnel everywhere.
Sparks and Phin hurried and finally reached the other two as the Needlix charged forward again.  Nix hit the emergency controls and brought the forcefield up, the wheels screeching to a halt just before she crashed into it.
There was a sudden, eerie silence as the team watched from the other side.  The Needlix just stood there, completely motionless as the red-eye moving and scanning the forcefield.
"...guess we're not getting out that way."  Sparks said, rubbing his head.  "Not unless we find a way to get around her."
"Don't think I could teleport all of us out behind her at once."  Zech said as he held his computer up, recording the Needlix for Tero.  "Besides, who knows how long the other two will stay trapped in-"  Just as he said that, there was a loud thump behind the Needlix.
"Only one way we can go now." Nix said and the team turned to look down the dark hallway.
"Hell." Phineas grumbled, "Well, let's go.  Sooner we get out of here, the better!"

Had a tour monday for the molecular lab here, went to the ER tuesday [oop! all good tho no worries], got a ton of supplies and cosplay material thursday [and also played some street hockey with mom after we got some fresh tape on the sticks], and i got word this morning on that I got the interview for Monday! :D what a week so far!
Defs hopin i get it, i need PCR and molecular lab exp on my CV!! That seems to be a prob i run into, certain knowledge gaps :v even if its medical, clean room exp is clean room exp right?? im even thinking it being a medical lab would be a boost since the standards are more strict.
Wish me luck! I’ll be finishing up the last of the Stowaways pencils today and this week since i won’t be able to draw big things in molecular :D ah. I need to get my vendor materials yet :1 that’s a project for today i think!!
Oh!! Of course, I’ve been doing the digital lines a panel or two at a time in the morning, so I’m hoping to crush more whole pages this weekend >:] and play more street hockey >:]]
