nothing is funnier than seeing huge masses of gamers having One Major Complain about a game that's about to come out and repeat it over and over as THE deal-breaking thing, meanwhile you (gamedev) are like "buddy that's not even in the top 3 of things that are wrong with this game you're all gonna forget it was even a thing that bothered you by the time you actually have the controller in your hands"

"Oh no, someone's attracted to the aesthetics of my -punk movement but doesn't know the praxis and history behind it like I do--"
OK. Tell them. Make it a teaching moment. Everyone who's in your movement learned the background from somewhere at some point, maybe this is that point for that person. Give them a jumping off point that they can dive into later.
"Oh but I shouldn't be responsible for teaching baby -punks about the history and the how-tos and--"
OK. Then don't tell them. You don't have to be responsible for teaching people with a budding interest in your group the ins and outs and how-tos. That's fair and valid! It can be a lot of work. Someone else will handle it
"But I'm annoyed that they would try to claim to be part of/be interested in my community without knowing all the details that I know after being in it for months/years/decades, they're dumb, they're posers, they're--"
OK. Then don't engage with them, if it's that bad. Maybe someone else will come around and tell them the history, maybe they'll pick it up on their own, maybe they'll just enjoy the fashion elements for awhile.
"But they shouldn't claim to be part of the -punk community if they don't know the--"
I feel like we have a few options here. People can either talk to them, share the history, share the values, share the praxis. Or they can just chase off anyone who even thinks about dipping a toe in their community, and then wonder why it's dying off later down the line.
I dunno, maybe I'm too naive and patient or whatever. But if people are entering your -punk spaces without knowing The Rundown of what you feel they need to know, maybe being nice about it and informing people instead of immediately assuming stupidity and malicious intent could help you make a new friend. Even the loudest voices in a space had to learn from somewhere, and not everyone has the luxury of being in the space as the History was Happening--whether it's an age thing or a not being aware of the space thing. Or maybe I just don't see what the big deal is behind people hating people who like the aesthetic of something and don't know the behind the scenes history about it yet.
Because I believe in the word 'yet.' No one comes into this world knowing everything about everything, and we're all constantly learning new things. I'm not gonna degrade someone and call them a poser for not knowing what I know. Because if it were me, interested in a scene but getting chased out and called a poser? I wouldn't hit the books and study up, I'd go 'that fuckin sucks, those people sucked' and then avoid anyone and anything having to do with it.
So chase people off and call them posers if you want. But if your community starts dwindling, don't be fucking shocked.

my god people really love coming out of the woodwork for any sort of subject that even tangentially relates to compensating artists for their labor to twist it into "wow simp for U.S. IP law much? kekdoubleyou"
just say you don't respect artists & writers with your chest, makes you look less like a little bitch.

I keep thinking back to these tags:
Tumblr media
Considering my last few posts, i do have to wonder. Many palestinians are antisemites, yes, but it would be inconceivably selfish to ask them to prioritise the critique of antisemitism when many right now are focused on evacuating, finding their next meal, not getting beaten up by hamas or killed by israeli missiles. So what about us jews then?
Antisemitism directly affects jews, duh. Why wouldn’t we “prioritise antisemitism”? Why shouldn’t we? Ever since october, there’s been an explosion of hate. I’ve posted and reblogged many, many links of jews getting beaten, stabbed, their homes and businesses and synagogues vandalised and firebombed, being verbally abused on the street, bullied and attacked at school, to say nothing of the deluge of hatred online, like the messages me and others here have gotten. The people who carried out those acts didn’t stop and ask their victims if they were one of the good token antizionists before hurting them—why would they? They specifically targeted jews regardless of their beliefs.
Many jews online and off have worked to promote dialogue, peace, have shared ways to donate to afflicted gazans, and have reminded others to not give into hate because it doesn’t fucking work other than to worsen things. What have many antizionist-not-antisemitic goys done for jews in exchange?
Have they shared ways to donate to affected diaspora jewish communities or support them in any other way?
Have they worked to search for extremists within their movement, denounce them, and kick them out? Have they been vigilant to keep their ideals from being coopted and promoted by fascists?
Have they refrained from equating jews with nazis, and declaring jewish symbols as hate imagery?
Have they refused to impose a binary of good-jew/bad-jew on jews as a whole?
I’ve personally seen bad antisemitism on tumblr and the internet before last october. Nothing, however, comes quite close to this. And frankly, many non-jews have utterly failed to not only not uphold the prior points, but also not accept antisemitism as praxis.
I still haven’t lost hope in the possibility of a one or two state solution and peace between israelis and palestinians, but i’ve certainly lost faith in too many people to count.

Yeah people acting like trans people are just automatically seen as our gender pre everything is very... dismissive of transphobia. There was that one article a while back of a southern black trans man who was a real estate agent who after a long time of being stealth was outed and went from being loved to hated at work if I recall treatment so bad he had to quit plus loss of clientele. I've also heard more casual transphobia after passing/going stealth, since people think they can be bigoted around me. If they think doesn't weigh on our minds how people hate us but don't know it... I'm very cautious with new friendships cause it's like will this person later on admit they dislike me without even being aware of it? Being post everything I understand the whole not being alone but being lonely.
Well like I said I think it all goes back to the fact that a lot of people have a very specific image in their mind of a trans man and that image often doesn't align with reality. For the record I think that happens with all transgender journeys- people have very specific images about what trans people look like and are mad when faced with someone who doesn't match that at all.
And, well. People are weirder about gender than they want to admit. Like my coworker who deliberately calls people she knows are men by feminine terms (girls, ladies, women, etc) and was so confused and needed it explained to her when the two queer men she was doing it to (myself, and our gay boss) said "hey that's uhhhhhh not a great thing to be doing......."
Or all the people who think men and women are inherently, biologically, completely distinct and practically seperate species. They get real mad if there's any or any overlap and that can range from the way bigots talk about their own homophobia to the way leftist praxis has gotten entirely out of hand with the way they treat transgender individuals.
I'm unfortunately used to having to be cautious with new friendships due to being mixed race- a lot of people feel emboldened to say some nasty shit to my face like I'm going to sympathize or agree with them, including a roommate's sibling sitting in my room looking me dead in the eyes saying she doesn't like black people and doesn't think that makes her racist like she thinks I'm going to agree and poor-baby her. I don't really have much advice outside of sticking to your boundaries and not tolerating bullshit once you find it.

🦄💗PARADIGM SHIFT🦄💗
Tumblr media
💗This post is inspired by Bob Proctor videos on PARADIGM SHIFT and how loa works . He was more into law of attraction.I really felt that his teachings were very amazing & it resonated with me . However, if this post doesn't resonate with you , you can ignore it. Since you are the creator of your reality so you create your own rules.
🦄Just like gravity , the law of assumption / attraction is always working. Our body is a molecular structure, if you look at your body through a microscope, you 'd see that energy dancing right before your eyes. It's how you use your mind which will dictate the vibration you are in.
💗When you were a little baby , your subconscious mind was wide open , everything that was going on , it went in there all the energy that went in there formed something called paradigm . Paradigm is information , it's multitude of habits. ( see the diagram 1 below) . Paradigm is a mental program that has almost exclusive control over our habitual behavior.
Tumblr media
(Sorry I misspelled subconscious)
🦄You are the product of your environment, prior to that , you are the product of genetic string that goes back to generations. On a conscious level, you have the power to think, you can think anything you want to. As you think , you build ideas.
💗Imagine a imaginary line which separates the conscious mind & the subconscious mind. Your subconscious mind has been reprogrammed. Let's say the paradigm is X type energy, you will think X type thoughts so you will get X type results. The thoughts that you are thinking that control the vibration you are in, but it also dictates what you attract . Here vibration is nothing but an idea ! You attract energy and people that are in a harmony with you. You got to change the paradigm to change your results. It
Let's see this diagram , it will help us to understand this in more depth.
Tumblr media
🦄This diagram 2 may seem complicated , but you will understand it as you read this post. As you can see that there is an imaginary line separating your conscious and subconscious mind. As I mentioned earlier , if paradigm has X type energy , you will get X type results.
💗What we want to do is program in postive information & eliminate the negative.
🦄" Do just once what others say you can't do , and you will never pay attention to their limitations again " - James R . Cook . We are in charge of how we feel but we let other people upset us , but we don't have to . We can listen to what they are saying & then say, " Well you are entitled to your opinion, but that's just not how I am like ". We can hold our own idea of ourself
💗The sensory factors ( see the diagram 2 ) are hooked up to the conscious mind. The conscious mind has the ability to choose thoughts and originate ideas. It can accept or reject ideas. If somebody tells you a bad story , you have the ability to reject it. Those thoughts turn into pictures. We turn the pictures over to the subconscious mind & then the subconscious mind expresses the action. The subconscious mind has no ability to reject . It cannot determine the difference between what is real & what is imagined.
🦄We think thoughts that are in harmony with the paradigm. The paradigm controls our behaviors. Consciously , you can think of one thing. For example , we read self help books or watch self help videos and say to ourselves " yeah I can do that , it makes sense " but then we can't do it . Why? We believe something on a conscious level but the subconscious believes something else.
💗Paradigm was formed through REPETITION. The ideas being planted in your subconscious mind. Your paradigm dictates your logic, how you utilize your time , perception of situations , your effectiveness , productivity, creativity and the amount of money you make. In order to change your life , you must change your paradigm.
🦄Praxis is the integration of belief with behavior. We have got to take the beliefs that we have consciously that we determine by thinking & plant them in the place of the old belief.
💗Paradigm is formed through REPETITION OF INFORMATION & it can be changed through REPETITION OF INFORMATION. Suppose you are having a difficult time with money, you have got to change your concept about money. How to do that? REPETITION of an idea. That's where affirmations comes in.
🦄Videos you should watch to understand it better- video 1 , 2 , 3

You were right about tankies. They do not talk about tiananmen square. They do not talk about Tibet. They do not talk about uyghur. Wtf. No how is this possible? What?
The thing is that most white and western leftists are exactly as racist, imperialist, ethnocentric and tinhatted as right-wingers. For Global South people there's literally no difference in interacting with them sometimes, even if they talk more sense by virtue of their leftist politics. In that, they have a lot in common with liberals; they say all the right things until they're challenged in any meaningful way, which is when the mask slips.
Self-serving, egoistic people aren't saved by reading a bunch of political posts and books. True dedication to social justice requires humility first and foremost, a solid set of ethical and moral hard lines in engagement, and constant self-interrogation. It has to be moved by compassion for your fellow human and sense of accountability, not ideological fanaticism as result of personal disenfranchisement and sense of victimization at being excluded from privilege. Marxists (not even just Tankies) love to accuse conservatives and liberals of unquestioning ideological servitude and selfishness without ever looking in the mirror. They have absolutely no racial or decolonial praxis because that primarily involves listening and centering colonized and Global South people, instead of amplifying themselves to virtue-signal and chase clout.
In essence they're just bad human beings, exactly like every other self-victimizing, self-aggrandizing Zionist, TERF and MAGA-hat (both red and blue) that treat accountability like a personal threat and place ideology over human beings. That's why I say it's important to separate politics from your morals and ethics. Your politics are supposed to change but your moral and ethical foundation cannot.
Personally I take great comfort in being proven wrong about my beliefs almost daily. At least 95% of everything I have ever assumed to be true has been proven wrong, which is what gives me more confidence in the remaining 5%. I love being wrong because knowing that means I'm doing something right. I see so many people on here be the same way, it's honestly lovely and gives me faith and hope for humanity. That's real leftism.

You’ve probably gotten this before idk, but I’ve mainly seen Black women identify themselves with womanism and not feminism because many believe that feminism wasn’t as inclusive to Black women. I’m just saying this since you’re one of the few Black women I’ve seen that strongly supports feminism.
I do not support coming up with new vague performative terms to fix something that doesn't need fixing. Womanism is like queer to me, it's vague, doesn't have a concrete definition, and so people who identify as that can't be held accountable for not living up to their politics. It didn't used to be like that, early proponents of womanism literally just detailed feminism but black woman focused, however, now a days any young woman I've seen identify as a "womanist" are using it to dodge showing any feminist praxis. When you call them out, 'That isn't a feminist view point' they say, 'well i'm a womanist' it usually means they include men in their feminist too. I've seen intersectional feminism become this also. The womanist doesn't criticize beauty practices, the womanist doesn't criticize men of color, the womanist isn't pro-seperatism. There are feminists who only talk about white middle western women's issues, but so do white western Marxists and white western advocates of all movements. But for some reason it is feminism that has to prove constantly that it is not racist or discriminatory of all kinds to be barely tolerated. A white person may have coined the term feminist/feminism, but feminist action has been practiced by women all over the world. There were Indian women fighting for the rights of women in her country before she even read the world feminist in English for example. To say Feminism is inherently racist so we have to do away with it, cast it aside, because of some bad actors, then other movements should be held up to the came scrutiny. Black Nationalism, Marxism, Anarchists, LGBT movement, With the amount of pedophiles and rapists outed inside leftist movements, why do people stand proudly behind those labels? I am a feminist because that happens to the most coherent consistent English word/term/theory to communicate my beliefs and hopefully describe how I aim to live my life. There are many black women who agree with me, many who don't, we aren't a monolith, but as I have lived in black majority countries my whole life, while we do have a white ruling class still, when I speak my feminist views, I am thinking about the women I see every day, who are black and brown. When I make a post about why women need feminism, I am not talking about random white women on tumblr.com that I do not encounter, I am talking about my neighbor, my sister, my mother, my own statistics.

Think what strikes me about something like "we can't vote because the system is rigged! Ban the electoral college!" is the big underlying implication of it.
That there is no multiple solutions or paths, only the one correct path and everything else is worthless.
And that's incredibly frustrating because there are two levels of problems with it:
is the utter dismissiveness of anything other than their specific solution, which ignores how any degree of positive change cannot occur with only just ONE idea, it's usually the result of many ideas that lead to change.
The fact that it feels like they're skipping every step in between the current situation to this end result, or actively fixating on themselves having the correct solution, but only by literally getting everything in between completely wrong in the process.
Like, the latter point in particular is like a complex math equation: Just because you got the right answer doesn't mean you can just ignore every difficult step in between, or just assume that all of the WRONG processes become validated retroactively because you stumbled into the correct answer. You'd literally get failed and be forced to redo the problem if you tried that shit in math.
I saw a poll the other day claiming that support for abolishing the Electoral College had now reached 65% of all Americans. Now, I take all polls, whether good or bad, with a grain of salt, but this does reflect a growing awareness that the EC is a horrible racist anti-democratic dinosaur only applied to the presidential election and only used for electing Republicans who don't win the nationwide popular vote, and that there's a genuine groundswell of support to abolish it. See the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact, which could possibly collect enough state-by-state ratifications to go into effect into 2028 (in the best-case scenario). So even all the bitching about how "the system is rigged" (which. WE KNOW! WE KNOW! There's not a single Democratic voter going to vote like WOW I LOVE THE ELECTORAL COLLEGE CAN'T WAIT FOR MY VOTE TO DEPEND ON HOW MUCH IT COUNTS THANKS TO THE ELECTORAL COLLEGE WHEE OLD DEAD WHITE GUYS!) blatantly ignores that a possible seismic change IS possibly in the offing, because people put in the work to make it happen!!! The fact that the EC might soon be superseded or disempowered is FUCKING MONUMENTALLY HUGE!!! It has existed literally since the beginning of America and arbitrated every single presidential election!!! And let me tell you, the people working to make that change and fundamentally reshape American democracy are absolutely not the Online Leftists, whose grasp of civic and political theory starts and ends at "wah the system is rigged I do not vote I am very smart!"
This also reminds me of the recent idiots in my notes complaining that Biden was a) not "genuine" in supporting the striking auto workers, that b) Don't You Know He Broke The Rail Strike (the follow-up where he gave the railworkers what they most wanted with that strike was conveniently never mentioned), or c) that he wasn't "doing it for the right reasons" (whatever the fuck that means). Which accurately reflects their belief that the way you do politics, or praxis, or anything at all, is just by having the Really Goodest Mostest Purest Intentions really hard, and that's it. Like. Aside from the fact that it's impossible to prove why Biden is privately motivated to do anything, we have a long track record demonstrating that he is a person of genuine Catholic faith who has been moving more and more to the left overall, and has been the most pro-union, pro-labor president in American history. So first of all, complaining that "he's not GENUINE!!!!" in supporting the strikers is impossible to prove, and contradicted by actual evidence. But the Online Leftists gotta feel More Gooder Than Him somehow, so.
Likewise: as I said in one of my previous posts about Hillary Clinton: I do not give a fuck if she was privately the most Neoliberal Corporate Centrist Shill Ever To Shill (and as I also said, none of those words means what the Online Leftists think they do). I do not care about the American monarch president's personal feelings, unless they reflect directly on the policy that they make and the real-world effects that it has. I don't care if Clinton killed puppies (or dreamed about killing puppies, which for the thoughtcrime police is equally bad), as long as she appointed 3 new liberal justices to SCOTUS and throughout the courts, instead of the hacks that Trump forced onto the bench and literally everything else he did. In the same vein, Biden could secretly be like "hahahaha fuck all workers BIG CORPORATIONS FOR LYFE but I gotta support the workers and get them their rights so they'll vote 4 meeee" (not that I actually think he is, but still) and hold onto your hankies, children: I DO NOT CARE! Because the tangible real-world effects of that policy that he is working hard on making results in a better economy for those workers and substantial redistribution of capital away from the oligarchs for the first time in a generation! Not to mention, I kind of like the idea that a president decides to make himself most appealing to workers instead of bosses! But for the Online Leftists, if this action isn't done with the Sufficiently Pure Motives, it is Wrong and Bad and Not Good Enough and Blah Blah Biden Sekrit Republican.
Anyway. Yes. That. The end.

Can you give me examples of praxis, mutual aid and dual power I can do? If it helps anything, I live in Southern Sweden, but I just in general have no idea where to start.
Good question!
Just to emphasise, praxis is an action that intends to facilitate the fruition of one’s political ideals, so mutual aid, the facilitation of direct democracy and the creation of dual power are all modes of praxis. It sounds like you knew this already though.
There are loads of ways to get involved! In this post I’m going to talk about three things, namely;
1: theory
2: networking (how to meet up with other anarchists!)
3: mutual aid (the most important one)
1: Theory - Reading theory is a great way to understand what you’re doing and why you’re doing it
Tumblr media
As I’m sure people will tell you, theory is not the be all and end all of being an anarchist. You can easily get away with being an anarchist without reading a drop of theory.
But it helps. When you’re exploring anarchism and your relationship with it, you’re probably going to have a lot of questions, and people have devoted novels and novels all to just answering those questions! Here’s a big directory of resources just for you!
If you’re looking for a good introductory book, I cannot recommend enough the ABCs of Anarchism by Alexander Berkman. It’s what got me into it. I would recommend reading some introductory stuff before you explore other important anarchists (Kropotkin, Bakunin, Goldman), since the older foundational stuff can be antiquated or difficult to read in places. Kropotkin’s Mutual Aid is a great praxis guide, though.
2: Networking - Go to local meets for anarchists in your area
Forgive me if I have this wrong, but Southern Sweden is fairly urban, right? If you live in a town or city, there’s a really good chance there’s anarchist organisations or at least mutual aid groups in your area that will hold meetings to discuss topics concerning anarchism and even leftism in general. They’ll also probably do a book club; anarchists famously love books.
(Hilariously, one factor that makes it so hard for the police to infiltrate anarchist groups is that the debate is so intense and various that they stick out like a sore thumb.)
These are the groups that Wikipedia has to offer.
Tumblr media
I really have no idea what these guys are like; I’m from a tiny little village in the UK. It’s worth looking about. Anarchists tend to put up flyers for the organisations in their local area (provided they’re not super spicy lmao).
If you go to the meetups and the organisation seems like it’s got its shit together, join up! It’s a lot easier to help your community as a mutually interested collective than it is as an individual (obviously).
3: Mutual Aid - DO! MUTUAL! AID!
Many anarchists will tell you that the single most important way to get involved as an anarchist is to do mutual aid. I concur, honestly. Mutual Aid is the foundation of anarchist society. It is the sharing of resources and the collective commitment to respecting and supporting everybody you possibly can that forms the backbone of anarchist society.
Mutual aid is a form of direct action, i.e. tackling an issue by directly focusing on the material conditions that generated the issue. It relies on individuals coming together with their wider community to co-operate in order to mutually achieve a set aim.
I say this a lot! And I’ll say it again!
Mutual aid is for everyone, no matter your situation. Everybody needs help sometimes. The point is that we build networks of trust and reliability that will eventually come to fruition in full-fledged anarchist society. Given the scale of anarchist projects in western society at this point, though, many anarchists focus on specific and pressing issues in their area.
It’s important to remember that the nature of capitalism is such that almost everybody is two or three really bad months away from poverty. Capitalism hurts everyone and mutual aid is an effort to alleviate that suffering. Mutual aid is for everyone.
Here’s some examples of common mutual aid projects, taken from this article
Tumblr media
mutual aid is various and complex, much like anarchist society.
One mutual aid group I heard about the other day is a group that helps alleviate loneliness in the elderly by visiting their homes and helping them with their groceries, etc.
mutual aid also played an important part in the Greensboro sit-ins movement and the wider struggle for civil rights in black communities in America throughout the 1950s-70s, and remains in that key role today.
It works so well for marginalised groups because it allows disempowered individuals to pool their resources in order to make a greater impact on the issue. It logically follows that it would be a huge axis of anarchist organisation.

how do you get HRT or insulin when civilization, and it's industry, is abolished?
Anon I rewrote this post like three times because it's so important to me that people understand this. I want so much for everyone and am always so frustrated by the constant bad jacketing of nihilists so here it goes.
The first and most important point is that anticiv rejects all vanguardism. There will be no seizure of state power that mandates all power plants be turned off. It is a part of the real communist movement and involves the subaltern population rejecting alienation and finding their power, not destroying things they actively need.
Classical communism imagines that we will simply collectivize our current industrial society and distribute the spoils evenly. In the era of climate change, this is a highly insufficient analysis. If we don't stop clear cutting and strip mining, we'll go extinct, and bring most of the biosphere with us. At the very least, this means serious degrowth, regardless of whether the industry is collectivist or not.
I don't care about the poor little loggers who lost their jobs from tree spiking.
It is the productivist logic that must be challenged if we are to survive the 21st century. That every human being and every scrap of land be put to work. Human, plant, and animal diversity is being crushed by it, and we need that to live. We need to live in a way that's not driven by a "work or starve" mentality, in biodiverse places, where we are not defined by our labour.
This is not possible within an ideology that places the production of things as the cornerstone of everything. It does NOT mean never making things ever again, or even abandoning modern techniques such as insulin production, but it does mean applying serious critique to them:
Does this form of production require the destruction of vital ecosystems, even indirectly such as through power generation, pollution, traffic infrastructure, or use of goods that have such impacts?
Does this form of production require forcing people to do it under threat of death or starvation?
Does this form of production require large swaths of land to be barren, like parking lots or monoculture corn?
Does this form of production require people to subscribe to a specific ideology or way of being to participate in it?
The question of insulin comes up again and again but it is framed wrong. There will be no primmie Vanguard that topples the provisional government and shoots everyone with an insulin pump. It is a tool for the here and now for the powerless, about reclaiming our power outside of totalizing institutions that look at our beautiful earth and just see spoils to be harvested. It's a critique, not a program.
Anticiv praxis could involve black market medical production (including insulin, or HRT which already exists) to combat the increasing failure of the industrial model. In the same way that regenerative agriculture reimagines human relationships with the non-human or FNB reimagines food consumption, the same could be done for pharmacy; the earth is full of medicine that can be produced without destruction. This doesn't require abandoning modern techniques, it requires abandoning the constant liquidation of the non-human to run them.
The real movement is already emerging, in the shared bureaucracy hacks and desperate mutual aid posts, and the truth is right in front of us:
We don't do these things because we are obligated to, but because we need to keep each other alive to live ourselves.
That is the meaning of unalienated labour. It's true of each other and it's true of the earth. There's no primeval reset, but a refusal to view others, human and not, as disposable. To recognize that thinking of human beings as superior is going to get us killed. To recognize that we are within a vast web of life that demands respect, from human diversity to animal and plant diversity.
To keep ALL of our friends alive and flourishing, not meet the demands of tyrants and demagogues.

i would like to point out that everyone arguing against my take on finnster's content was not actually arguing on any solid ground. my point was "i think the content in question is harmful to trans women and that doesnt change even if it was made by a genderfluid person in the closet" to which disingenuous people responded with:
"you don't have a reasonable interpretation of the situation" (i am responding to specific videos that have existed for months. there is no "situation", i am criticizing a pattern of behavior. accusing *me* of being disingenuous and then not supporting that with anything, just dropping it and expecting it to speak for itself. it doesnt)
"why cant finnster wear whatever they want? are you saying men can't wear dresses?" (interesting point to pull against a trans woman. surely no underlying bias there. but i never called them a man nor did i ever say they couldn't wear XYZ. completely unrelated comment to distract from the actual point)
"finnster donated 30k to charities and thats more praxis than aruging on tumblr and also im genderfluid and dont fit in anywhere" (again, comment to distract from the point. not engaging with the transmisogyny, choosing to talk about completely unrelated topics. bonus: acting like 1. that i am not also genderfluid (though i would not often describe myself this way) and 2. as if your identity being more complicated on a surface level somehow makes me wrong)
notice how no one here said "i think her content is *not* harmful, and here's why", just accusing me of various things or moving the goalposts to make the conversation about something else entirely. at no point was this conversation about how someone expresses their gender, or if they were otherwise doing good things, or if doing said good things excuses the bad things they did. people made my post about something else because they either could not or did not want to engage with a trans woman criticizing behavior that harms me and everyone like me and would rather assume malicious intent or that im just hysterical.

just saw another post involving trans discourse making fun of transmascs for speaking about the oppression they face and remembered why i spent weeks so fucking tired of this hellsite i couldn’t even make myself click on the app.
it just seems to me that a lot of trans people around my age (or worst, older than my age) here have no idea how activism and debating works. “learning all your political knowledge and praxis from tumblr university is bad” is a meme that honestly makes a lot more sense to me now than it did two years ago, and a lot of that has to do with following more trans people in here, following more trans people in other social media platforms (yeah yeah, i know some of you hate other platforms or whatever, BUT GUESS WHAT? a lot of people that are making a change in my country also have an instagram account where they engage with discourse), reading theory to understand our history, our fight and what i can do for my community and realizing that some of you here are so full of shit that you don’t realize that posting on tumblr all day does nothing to change the status quo.
i’ve seen transfems saying that transmascs deserve to be called slurs to be put on their place. i’ve seen people going as far as dedicating whole ass tags to posts that basically just try to humiliate or prove transmascs “wrong” about experiences that literally belong to them.
as a trans woman, i have many things to say about this, even if there’s a lot i can’t even articulate since i don’t even speak this language fluently, but a lot of it boils down to two questions: how is trying to prove each other wrong about diverse experiences and opinions helping our community to heal? and how is hurting each other on a semi-dead microblogging website doing anything against our oppressors?

rae give us your thoughts on taylor swift more specifically her rich white feminist thing she’s got going on and her influence on the current ‘girlboss’ trend and the current perception of women in media today???? asking bc i love reading your opinions on this stuff 💕
it sounds like u have some opinions of ur own lol but sure i can talk abt taylor swift! will be putting it under a cut bc i love my swiftie mutuals tho...swiftie mutuals look away im going to be mean sorry....
i mean yeah overall u kinda summed it up lol. i don't think i'd really care much about taylor swift were it not for the way she's been branded as some sort of groundbreaking feminist and subsequently played into that perception to profit ("the man" makes my eyes roll out of my skull sorry...)
i think my dislike of her was first seeded when "you need to calm down" came out--before then i just hadn't really cared abt taylor swift, knew a few songs but wasn't crazy about them, etc. but then she dropped "you need to calm down" and suddenly she was getting TONS of praise for doing SO much for the queer community and i was like. well first of all the song is bad second of all she's literally comparing her online haters to violent homophobes as though those two things are in any way equal or similar experiences third of all she's getting praised for profiting off positioning herself as a #ally. like this song and music video are not some sort of feminist praxis they are a way to funnel money into her already bulging pockets.
but because literally everyone around me (many swiftie friends) was gushing over how amazing she was for hiring all those dykes + faggots to dance behind her i felt like i was being gaslit + the fact that taylor swift was just happily accepting the money + accolades at the same time made me dislike her
when folklore came out i actually did enjoy the album which was. the first time that's happened for me lol i usually like maybe one or two of her songs and think the rest are mediocre at best but i was like huh maybe she's like changing as an artist and sort of settling into a new groove that's kinda cool. and then i didn't like evermore as much but i was still like okay cool new sound new vibe. and then she dropped midnights and i tried really hard to like it for my swiftie friends but...honestly i was shocked by how bad it was lol. just felt like a new level of low in terms of bad lyrics and the music was incredibly bland and boring to me, nothing new or interesting going on there. and then i felt gaslit again by all the swifties raving abt the lyricism of lines like "draw the cat eye sharp enough to kill a man" like!!! babe that is a tumblr post from 2014...
but aside from finding it genuinely incomprehensible that she gets so much credit for being an amazing writer or lyricist when the bulk of her discography is simply incredibly mediocre or straight-up bad imo (bc honestly that alone wouldn't be enough to make me dislike her; ik these are all subjective measures so even if i find it annoying to hear people rant + rave about music i think is bad it's not gonna make me dislike the artist or the people raving necessarily) what bothers me more and solidifed my dislike of her is the continuation of the way she acted when "you need to calm down" dropped. which is to say, it's infuriating enough that her fandom has sainted her, but what's more infuriating to me is the she seems inclined to play into that sainthood.
she often leans in to portraying herself as either a victim of misogyny or a #girlboss feminist. and like--this isn't to say taylor swift hasn't experienced misogyny, or that she shouldn't talk about those experiences, or that rich white women are exempt from sexism. but her feminist consciousness seems to begin and end with her own personal experiences of sexism, with no effort at a deeper political engagement made. she flies her private jet around and poisons the environment and when people try to call her out for it she sits back and lets her fans accuse anyone that criticizes her of being sexist. in fact, it seems that any criticism of her is met with accusations of sexism, which is an infuriating obfuscation.
at the end of the day, her politics such that i have seen are incredibly liberal and toothless, and her feminism seems largely focused on making herself more money ("the man" being about "getting ahead" faster, the whole thing with that one guy owning her masters centering around a dispute over property + who gets to make money, etc). she is a capitalist first and foremost, and because of that her feminisn kind of sucks, so i hate seeing people treat her as a Feminist Figure. i also think the gaylor thing is sooooo stupid and annoying and reinforces the concept of identity first and foremost as a discrete ontological category rather than something socially constructed + materially rooted. like the idea that taylor has some mystical gay Essence inside her that exists regardless of how straight her music + lifestyle is, the makes her Queer--sorry but give me a fucking break lol. i don't give a shit if she kisses other girls, taylor swift is not a Queer Icon, and i don't understand why people desperately scrabble to find proof that she is when there are already plenty of openly gay pop singers!
in conclusion taylor swift is the epitome of #girlboss liberal feminism to me and her supposedly genius music being aggressively mediocre is just the icing on the cake lol
