Saturday May 20.
This is no ordinary Saturday. This is the weekend of World Bee Day, our beloveds. So let us give thanks.
-
Bees and other pollinators, such as butterflies, bats and hummingbirds, are increasingly under threat from human activities.
Pollination is, however, a fundamental process for the survival of our ecosystems. Nearly 90% of the world’s wild flowering plant species depend, entirely, or at least in part, on animal pollination, along with more than 75% of the world’s food crops and 35% of global agricultural land. Not only do pollinators contribute directly to food security, but they are key to conserving biodiversity.
To raise awareness of the importance of pollinators, the threats they face and their contribution to sustainable development, the UN designated 20 May as World Bee Day.
The goal is to strengthen measures aimed at protecting bees and other pollinators, which would significantly contribute to solving problems related to the global food supply and eliminate hunger in developing countries.
We all depend on pollinators and it is, therefore, crucial to monitor their decline and halt the loss of biodiversity.

Animal of the Day!
White-lipped Tree Frog (Nyctimystes infrafrenatus)
(Photo from Shutterstock)
Conservation Status- Least Concern
Habitat- Australia
Size (Weight/Length)- 15 cm
Diet- Worms; Insects; Small rodents
Cool Facts- The white-lipped tree frog is an Australian icon. These large frogs blend in perfectly with the trees they call home. Despite being an amphibian, these frogs are more at home in treetops than in jungle ponds. Their front toes only have partial webbing to aid in climbing through their flexible digits. During the summer, a male will call a pond his territory and chase any competitors off. There, the male attracts a group of females through a meowing call. The white-lipped tree frog has a docile personality for its size and makes a popular pet. However, illegal harvesting from wild populations have slowly been decreasing their numbers. If you’re seeking one as a pet, be cautious who you adopt from.
Rating- 11/10 (Lips made to be kissed gently.)

Radio City Music Hall, usually lit up so brilliantly, had its exterior lights almost extinguished on May 20, 1942, as part of a city-wide dimout. Lights were only permitted on lower floors to make it difficult for enemy aircraft to see. There is practically no traffic.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY DEAREST CHIBA RYUUNOSUKE!!! 🎂🎉
Chiba Ryuunosuke is the embodiment of 'unconditional' and 'compassionate'.
He carries so much burden, swallows his own feelings, and quietly give others the support that they need without asking anything for return... all because he prioritizes other people first before himself.
He refuses help because he doesn't want to burden others with his problems. He has trouble expressing what's on his mind within the vicinity of other people because he cares so much of how his thoughts could affect them.
To the point that his own selflessness and empathy for others had been his downfall.
I wish for him to continue learning to rely on his companions more and expressing his concerns. He deserves every good thing coming to him.
