You guys want to know a fun flower fact ?

Lilies represent pure love, the nobility of feelings, but also marital union. After the death of someone, they are used to represent the purification of their soul before they reach heaven.

So now that we established that... What about we take a look at two lovely pics ? <3

First is Mathias Cronqvist and the corpse of Elisabetha, covered with lilies. Second is...

Dracula from CoD.

It's interesting to see that Mathias has a few lilies of his own. If Elisabetha's probably represent all of what i mentioned above, Mathias' lilies might only represent his feelings for her, how deeply he cared, his union with her. But it's interesting to interpret them as some sort of "mockery" of the "purification of the soul before reaching heaven" part, knowing how that man ends up. <3 Dead ? Yes (kinda). Pure ? No. Heaven ? LOL. LMAO. <3 His lilies are also clean. Just normal, pure white flowers...

Now if we look at Dracula's lily, not only is there only one, but... it's bloodied. And while Mathias' lilies were "attached" to him, Dracula is actually holding his... by the tip of it's rod. As if he could let go at any moment, as if it would slip from his hand from the slightest wrong movement. It's a very delicate situation. And the representation of his current state of mine. This man is broken. He loved Lisa so deeply he regained his humanity back while with her, but everything shattered when she died. If the lily represents his love for Lisa and what was left of his humanity, things part of him is still hanging onto... you can be sure it fell off his hand the moment Trevor killed him. Grief and rage took place in his heart, turning a love that was pure into something unholy. Into an obsession, a fuel for his madness. And while he lost the flower, the blood remained. He's forever tainted, unable to escape his sadness and anger.

This is my interpretation, though I'm sure there can be more. Thanks for coming to my ted talk.

Hands and Claws

It started with looking at Symphony of the Night - Nocturne in the Moonlight and Curse of Darkness - Prelude to Revenge, got distracted by how different Kojima draw Dracula's claw in these two and then I decided to compare hands/claws from more games for lulz.

Bloodlines: Someone good with color, would a painted nail/claw look like right side or did Elizabeth just paint one of her hands?

Symphony of the Night: Short claws compared how he is drawn later. Dracula holding Lisa is only time he has normal nails? ( I mean besides Mathias).

Still short claws or just slightly long nails.

Chronicles: I originally thought CoD Drac had the longest claws, but that just seems to depend on the artwork. And what's up with your hands, man!? Did you break your fingers or something!?

Lament of Innocence: Human and vampire Mathias, both normal hands. Claws are not immediately included when turned into a vampire it seems.

...Does Joachim have nail polish in his prison???

Curse of Darkness: Dracula has really long claws, even ignoring him extending them at will.

Also I'm distracted by blood dripping from the middle finger but not from the claw. And he only has a ring when fighting Trevor. What, he put on a ring just for Trevor???

Challenger approaches! Brauner with long claws AND nail polish. Got to be stylish. Truly an artist.

Dracula is less impressive. He tries to make up for it with bunch of rings instead.

Then Dracula X Chronicles has shorter claws than CoD, which is funny when the design basically is just CoD reused.

The more I draw Dorothea and Mathias being two adorable lovebirds together, the more I want to draw them being even more lovey dovey.

A kiss on the brow while the other is asleep; the comfort of strong arms keeping the other safe and sound when the terror of the night come to haunt back; that small adorable teasing moment that preceed a sweet lovemaking.

(Literally me this morning while looking at my sketch from last night. And no, not because my artwork is great, technique wise, but because of the lovebirds that I drew).

It comes easy as well, because both Mathias and Dorothea are mine, my own ocs, so i can literally do what i want with them and I am not bound to any canon, and that gives me a freedom of movement to do what I want, so to speak.

I need to commission someone to make a portrait of them, so that i can hang it on my wall.
