Random MasterGuide AU Part 8

"I'm not giving up-" Bain wished he sounded calmer than he currently did - but Dallas' bull-headedness wore on him worse than The Dentist could ever hope to, even with the physical torture.

"Yes you are-" Dallas broke off into weak laughs, scorn and sarcasm in every sound that left his lips. "It'll be so easy and keep your face from getting out there. What's the big deal? Why've you always gotta be the fucking martyr?" Dallas dug his fists into the thick meat of his thighs.

Something inside Bain just - snapped.

Forgetting about the restraints holding him in place, Bain thrashed on the spot. If he had been free, he would have clutched Dallas's shirt and shaken him until common sense entered his thick skull. This was an eruption after months and months of dormancy and passivity and stoicism. All he could manage was frantic struggling in his bindings.

Despite how toothless it was - the struggle, the outrage a lance in his remaining eye - Dallas at long last let his lips fall still. He may have even backed away slightly, as if he actually thought Bain could get free and strike him.

If only he could, then maybe they wouldn't be in this situation.

"I'll do it," Bain said. There was a flatness to his voice that betrayed the extent of his rage. "Take your fucking video of him cumming like a -" he swallowed, unwilling to force himself to say it, even with the inferno burning inside him. He said nothing more, but his nostrils flared, a bull ready to charge.

The Dentist exchanged a look with Kento, and gave a silent, curt nod.

"Bain..." Dallas actually looked like he regretted his words. Somehow the dark circles around his eyes - that were not caused by fists or boots or gun butts - appeared darker, as if what they were about to do had cast a shadow over him.

It happened fast. Kento clicked on the camera, its red light blinking steadily. Dallas whirled around at the sound, panic rumbling inside him.

The Dentist stayed where he was on the other side of the glass, as did Kento. A couple of guards melted out from the shadows, stepping closer in case Bain tried anything once his restraints were released, which they were with a resounding -

Click.

Dallas' mouth went very dry. The lights illuminating the torture chamber - because that's what this was, right? - suddenly felt too bright. He felt exposed and he hadn't even undressed yet. The sharp words he'd wanted to spit at each of them died, his mind scrabbling to even remember what he'd wanted to say.

He heard more than saw Bain stand behind him.

The best thing to invest in (aka yourself)

I'm sure everyone has thought about their current or future finances many times, and I'm also sure that you'd love to make a lot of money. Sure, you can spend hours searching the internet for the best business idea or the best college majors that you are not even interested in, but how about taking the easy route? A low risk, high reward and easy way to be financially free. Isn't that just a dream?

One of the most recent as well as most popular ways to earn money is investing. Although it can be a great way to earn money, 99% of the time it will only make you a lot of money if you're already rich! But there is one thing that you can invest in that will never fail you, yet no one talks about it. YOURSELF. The most valuable thing in the universe.

Define your goals

Ask yourself: What are your goals? If you want to be a business owner, learn skills that will be helpful in that field, for example marketing, so you can advertise your products, which will increase your revenue. Once you decide what your goal is research what skills are valuable and educate yourself of those topics.

But what if I don't know what I want to do?

That's completely fine! Instead of thinking about a specific niche, think about what you want your life to look like in general. Do you want to earn a lot of money? Google some of the most paying jobs. Do you value creativity in your work field? There are jobs for that too! It's ok if you can't find something that intrigues you. It's a journey and you don't need to find something that you'll do for the rest of your life right away.

Learn about money

Something that you can do regardless of what you want to achieve in life is learning about money! Unfortunately, most people don't know much about it except that it can buy you things. I can assure you that if you spend even just one week learning about this topic, you will know more than 90% of people. Robert Kiyosaki, who wrote the best seller "rich dad poor dad", is a great author that can teach you a lot about finance. I highly recommend all of his books, I'm sure you'll find something that peaks your interest.

Courses & school

Whether you are in school or not, you need to educate yourself! Everything can be monetized. Literally everything. We live in incredible times where if you just have a phone and access to the internet EVERYTHING you could want to learn can be learned online for free. Just go on YouTube and search something along the lines of (topic) 101, (topic) masterguide, etc. the possibilities are endless and I assure you that you will find something. If you don't mind spending money for courses try skillshare to unlock all courses available on their site or Udemy, they often do 80% off sales so you can get their courses for like $5.

Learn languages

I can't stress this enough! This is probably one of the best things you can do for yourself! Learning a new language can open so many doors for you! It can help you get a higher paying job, give you countless new opportunities and help you meet incredible people who speak that language. There are no right or wrong languages to choose, but in case you have no idea what you want, here are some of the most important factors:

Amount of speakers: This will be your main factor if your main goal is to reach as many people as possible, for any reason. This includes languages such as: Spanish, French, English (duh), or if you're up for a challenge: Hindi, Mandarin or Arabic.

Enjoyment: I think this should be important to everyone. You can't learn a language if you don't enjoy it. Try to learn the basics and see if you like how it sounds and how it feels.

Travel/domicile: if you know your dream is to move to a different country, where another language is spoken, it might be a good idea to learn it. Also, if you're interested in some country's culture you might also find it to be a great reason to learn it.

Job opportunities: although, as I mentioned above, pretty much every single language will give you many opportunities, it might vary depending on where you live and what your field of work is, for example if you live in the US, the most beneficial languages for you to learn will be English and Spanish. If you work in a company that works with Japanese companies, then Japanese might be a good choice for you. Of course, the most popular languages will have benefits pretty much anywhere in the world.

Other ways to invest in urself

Honestly, it would be difficult to fit all the resources in this post since that would make it ridiculously long, and I want to include many things so that everyone can find something that they enjoy, so I will make a whole different post about all of this in the future, because of that reason I will briefly go over a few other ways to grow:

Read

Reading is incredible! It has countless health benefits and it is a great way to learn about new things or expand your vocabulary. And no, you don't need to read educational books, although it sure is even more helpful. If you want to learn new words reading any book at all could help. I can say that as someone who grew up constantly reading people are often shocked at my vocabulary (in my native language), even since I was 5 years old, so yes, it works.

Mindful scrolling

Instead of just sitting on your phone all day watching stupid videos, pay attention to what content you're consuming and how long you spend on your phone.

Self care

I'm sure you guys already know that, so treat this as a reminder. Take care of yourself! And remember, looking out together can help you a lot in life. So put that face mask on, buy that new perfume you like and most importantly - prioritize your health!

Now you know exactly what you need to set yourself up for success. No more excuses!

Random MasterGuide AU Part 3

Bain knew he fucked up - releasing that quiet hiss of 'no' as cold steel presses into Dallas' forehead - The Dentist's eyes flashed, triumphant - it's no easy feat, making Bain flinch - but he didn't care what The Dentist saw - there was no way he could let Dallas die. He tugged at the restraints on his chair, but it achieved nothing. 'As useful as tits on a teapot,' his mind dimly supplied, recalling Vlad's snide observations about his brother-in-law.

It would be funny if the situation weren't life or death. In that moment, though, all Bain could feel was terror - like the kind you feel when you miss a stair, or you skid along an icy surface unexpectedly - only this feeling was not over in a moment, there and gone again once the initial shock wore off. This was a prolonged, enduring horror that built and built every second he was trapped, watching as The Dentist pressed a gun to Dallas' head.

For a man with a gun aimed at his head, Dallas was surprisingly calm. The odd quiet from before was back, but from the way Dallas' shoulders were unposed, he didn't seem to mind it.

"Bain, tell my brother I'm sorry."

Dallas, it turned out, was very good at making Bain drop his guard. "What?" His voice was croaky from disuse, the vibrations of his vocal chords an unusual sensation.

Dallas' eyes remained fixed on The Dentist. Shaking, the mastermind rose to his feet, maintaining eye contact with their foe all the while.

"Tell him I'm sorry. For everything. He'll hate me at first but he'll understand eventually."

"Dallas, no-" Bain's voice wobbled. He thought he might be sick. This wasn't happening. "I'm not going to-"

"Make Chains head of the gang, he's been around longest." Dallas continued, as calmly as if he were reciting what he'd had for lunch. Unlike Bain, whose voice was a husky, broken mess, he spoke with perfect enunciation and no tremor of fear or regret. "Hox is too hot-headed, and Wolf would do whatever he said without question. Chains is your best bet. Tell him he has my blessing."

"Dallas-" Bain's voice very nearly died, mirroring his growing hopelessness.

The Dentist maintained his cool observation of the scene unfolding before him. He breathed deeply through his nose, as if the fragrant smell of Bain's desperation carried notes of rejuvenation.

"How sentimental," he sneered, as if the word tasted like ashes in his mouth, "that you would give up your life to spare the exposure of your contractor's face to the world."

Bain's eye darted around the cell. There had to be something he could do. Anything. There was always, always a way out. But he was running out of time-

Dallas, meanwhile, was not helping.

"You think I'm important?" he scoffed, mockery in every syllable. "I'm just a figurehead, a symbol. Any of the others could do my job. I'm disposable." Every word was like a gut punch, stealing Bain's breath and ability to talk. He knew his mouth was open, ready to object or tell him to stand down, but nothing came out.

A dark, suppressed part of him admired The Dentist. This sadism was the worst thing he'd endured during his entire stay. This was worse than the sleepless nights brought about through light torture, the freezing temperatures keeping him borderline hypothermic, the ripping of his nails from his fingers.

"You thought wrong, bringing me here. So go ahead. Do it."

Story of Tonoita:

I DIDN'T EVEN LIKE TONOOKA UNTIL LIKE EARLY 2022. THIS MAN HAS BEEN IN THE GAME SINCE 2018. OUR FIRST INTRODUCTION TO HIM IS HOW HE LITERALLY RUINED ITARU'S LAST YEARS OF HIGH SCHOOL AND WAS THE REASON WHY ITARU CAN'T TRUST PEOPLE ANYMORE AFTER THAT AND CLOSES HIMSELF OFF.

AND YET. GOD.

Listen, I'm not an enemies to lovers liker. And exes to lovers is the kind of thing I like when I make them exes, not when they're canonically exes (they never canonically dated but like come on. they're basically exes). So why did I start shipping them?

I have these Twitter roleplay accounts for a3, a handful of them, and while roleplaying a different character in the series, I joined this little server of roleplay where we'd talk about stuff and plan out events and whatever, and one of them was roleplaying this fourth character (Citron!) mainly, but also had a Tonooka account, you might be able to see where I’m going with this.

We had this friend who had the Itaru roleplay account who really liked to roleplay this other Itaru ship (with a guy called Chikage), and sometimes he'd forget to do the replies to other ongoing roleplays. so my Citron/Tonooka friend dm'd me about it since they felt kind of left out whenever that happened, especially if there was an ongoing thread with Itaru and Citron, and I was like yeah I get it. I liked Chikaita a lot but it wasn't my go-to Itaru or Chikage ship, so I was like “uh huh nods”, and we got to talking about Itaru ships, and they mentioned Tonoita.

They really liked Tonoita, who is kinda unpopular in the general fandom because he caused Itaru a lot of trauma, and Itaru's like the number one or two most popular chara in the whole game, so a lot of people didn't like him. But my friend liked him a lot and told me so much about him, and literally he only appeared in one event story in the entire game at that point but I was listening so intently, and then I was like “mhm nods i understand”, and hey u can come to me about Tonoita whenever u want in case you feel judged or whatever.

BUT THAT WASN'T THE KICKER.

I was still kinda neutral about it but I didn't dislike it, but the aforementioned Itaru rp friend went inactive, so after a while, I was like “What if I make an Itaru account instead?” so I did! and then, fuck, I literally still have the roleplay bookmarked. My friend was on their Tonooka account goofing off about whatever shit and I posted this stupid reaction pic of the press x to doubt guy and then Tonooka fucking REPLIED. And then we had the usual exes banter. And then it became real??? LIKE THEY STARTED CRYING AND SHIT?? AND APOLOGIZED TO EACH OTHER?? AND COMMUNICATED WITH EACH OTHER??? AND THEN LIKE. AGREED TO AT LEAST BE CIVIL TO EACH OTHER AGAIN? WHICH TURNED INTO BEING FRIENDS AGAIN?? AND THEN THEY STARTED DATING AGAIN?????

AND THEN I JUST WENT SO INSANE ABOUT IT THAT THEY'VE NEVER LEFT MY HEAD SINCE, LIKE, THIS WAS IN EARLY 2022. SO IT'S BEEN A YEAR AND I'M STILL VISCERALLY INSANE OVER THEM BECAUSE OF THIS ONE THREAD THAT STARTS WITH A PIC OF A STUPID MEME. MY GOD, I HATE BEING OBSESSED WITH THEM BECAUSE LIKE I CAN COUNT ON ONE HAND THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE WHO LIKE THIS SHIP (I KNOW LIKE. 2 PEOPLE AND I HAVE LIKE 200 TWITTER MUTUALS.) THEY ARE SO MESSED UP. I CAN FIX THEM.

NaviMind (90)

Once upon a time, one of my now-friends was posting stuff about them, I didn’t like it, but then I looked at the tags And she was tagging it as frEAKIN… DAIN… BALLAS… I DIED, YO. I couldn’t live with the fandom knowing the pairing as that so I conferred with my beta and we came up with NaviMind and MasterGuide.

Then I started interacting more with the fandom and started accidentally converting people to this pairing like it was a religion. KEEP IN MIND that I didn’t ship them yet??? Like actually I was talking about canonical things and the people I texted were like “It’s my OTP now” 😭😭😭😭. My record time from me meeting someone to converting that person was a few hours. Literally, I had a NaviMind aura, it was a passive effect.

Then afterward I actually started imagining super angsty things about them and I wrote about their friendship, and I thought it would be much sadder if they were in love but couldn’t be together because of Bain’s paranoia and Dallas’ refusal to admit his feelings. They’re already best friends in canon, I write it to where Dallas can’t live without his guy… yeah, I have the most fics about this duo. I’m still strong even though it’s been over a year.

hi! im new to the fandom! love ur fics!!! so im trying to figure out how old jango was when he first started the whole kamino thing, would u happen to know of any nifty masterguide or sth w the ages of everyone? thanks!!

This doesn't have everyone, but it's a useful list for the movies. Jango was 34 during TPM, which is about when the army would have to have started being cloned.
