Thinking about how Centross just ripped off Icarus' gloves during their drinking session.
And how Icarus said "no, I'd ruin everything in the nice place that you've just built" and he took them off anyway.
And how Icarus reluctantly let him.
Just... that- mmm I cry /pos

it’s not just that there’s no concrete reason for guillermo to stay in the house this season, it’s that there is an extremely tangible reason NOT to stay. like, obviously he’s had reasons for leaving before - his job is objectively horrific - but they’ve always been pretty firmly internal, and he’s also always had an excuse for coming back: Celeste was lying, he needs to save their un-lives from pressing danger, he’s technically been kidnapped, there’s a wedding to plan and a baby to raise …
and, of course, guillermo wanted to be a vampire. even if he suspected it would never happen, it was always technically a possibility, and it was ostensibly going to happen when nandor turned him in exchange for his service.
now, it’s not just that the promise of being turned no longer even theoretically applies or that there’s no pressing issue keeping him at the house, it’s that the actual issue he is currently facing - trying to figure out why his turning is going so slowly/weirdly and also how to keep nandor from learning that he’d been turned by someone else - would be at the very least no more difficult to solve if he WASN’T at the house. if he straight up disappeared, it’s not just that he would absolutely be able to beat nandor in a fight, it’s that there’s zero chance that the vamps would have ever figured out why he left.
like sure laszlo is going to help him figure this shit out now, but guillermo does know other people, and he also knows how clueless everyone in that house is (save maybe colin robinson). there’s no way that laszlo is gonna be safer or more helpful than the fuckin baron and the sire, and while they’re both powerful, guillermo has been in position to kill both of them before and almost certainly could either kill them or, if he was worried about killing ppl’s sires, incapacitate them if he planned for it.
like obviously guillermo has been in the house mostly because he likes being in the house and he likes these vampires since like… season 2 at a push, but now there’s no more plausible deniability. even when in these episodes we see nandor being, like, pre-theatre levels of dismissive and inconsiderate in their interpersonal interactions and the way he talks about guillermo. i think nandor is back to assuming he’ll always be there, and that guillermo is too busy panicking to consider the option of leaving consciously, but it’s also like … laszlo didn’t bring it up as an option, and offered to help him GET NANDOR TO BITE HIM if he wanted. idk what the point is here I just think they’re neat

Let say Triforce of Power becomes a cartoon what network would be the best at? Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, or Disney?
Hmmm... Cartoon Network did Over the Garden Wall, so let's go with that 👍

Megamind Commentary
The announcement of the new Megamind sequel got me thinking again about one of my favorite superhero trope movies. The sequel itself looks like trash, which is very tragic, but not really what I'm on about at this moment.
I love Megamind, I love a lot of things about it. But what's interesting to me is Tighten as a 'Twist Villain.' I've seen commentaries about what a surprise it was that Hal became the primary antagonist of the film... pretty strictly from amab creators. I wondered if it was really that surprising, however, to afab viewers like myself. I'm not the type to pick up on story beats quickly. I usually need a couple watches to really fully comprehend the intentions in a film.
I never thought Hal was going to be anything but trouble. As soon as he got Metromans powers I knew it was only a matter of time. To me, who, again, tends to be slow on the uptake, this was not a twist. It was an inevitability. And I guess this leads me to wonder if other afab people also got that impression right off the bat?
I have no doubt that MANY, if not most, afab people recognized the warning signs from the very first scene that Hal appears in. Hell, the very first lines we get from his character display two things,
A) He doesn't ACTUALLY like Roxanne. She finishes reading the lines that SHE WROTE for the Metroman celebration, her earnest true feelings on the matter, and Hal immediately derides it.
B) That is UNTIL Roxy corrects him that no, SHE wrote that, and he immediately backpedals, displaying how disingenuous he is.
That is literally the very first thing we see of him. I think anyone who has had to live for a week in our society as a person perceived to be femme would recognize Hal as a dangerous type of person from this interaction alone. But maybe I'm wrong? I'm just shocked at how many people seemed to be very genuinely surprised that Hal turned out to be the real villain. Was it clear to anyone else that he was a bad egg from the get go?? Or am I just outta my head? I'd actually really love to hear some other perspectives on this.
Anyhow thank you for comin to my TED talk.

extremely well done by peat showing sky's dissociation in the aftermath. honestly, that might be one of the best depictions of dissociation i have seen. everything about it was incredibly well done. you could see so clearly that sky had mentally checked out to protect himself, and equally it was very clear how terrifying that was to prapai and how much it took to reassure sky that he was safe to express those emotions. god, it was just so WELL DONE.

Hello, I read your tags on the green day bohemian rhapsody concert and i was wondering what no children video were you talking about 👀
i actually misremembered, its an audio recording from a concert! its just the crowd taking over singing no children by the mountain goats, which i think (similarly to bohemian rhapsody) is a really interesting song for a group of people to sing, because its this great dissonance between the sad, isolationist, unlovable lyrics and the crowd full of joyous voices belting it out! it reminds me that we're all in this shit together, even when singing about fuckin misery and divorce and the ending of things, we're all just standing in a dark room grinning and screaming with strangers - and damn, we've never met, but for 3 minutes we are part of the same choir, and thats beautiful

You know what? The live-action gives me the impression that it knows it won't reach ATLA.
From the beginning, I think they accepted that fact and instead focused on giving their own twist to the story, which I can respect.
This is why TLA failed. Shyamalan wanted for his adaptation to be the spitting image of the animated series, if the incorporation of a lot of the favourite, most iconic scenes from the show is anything to go by.
But it fell flat, echoed hollow, because he just didn't get why those scenes were so beloved, and what made them carry the weight that they do.
But the live action focused more on tinkering with the characters, dynamics and the narrative, while also trying to remain authentic.
I'm not talking about whether they were successful or not, I'm talking about intention.
And I think their heart is in the right place.
The dilemma was "How do you surpass the unsurpassable?". And the answer? It's "You don't".
And they rolled with that.

clicking my tongue and having thoughts over and over again. how to be a good successful person if the general idea of success involves so much rise and grind to survive. like im not crazy right. to be successful i have to play an unseen social game with so many people, one i dont wanna participate in nor capable of playing along in. or maybe im lazy and making excuses, or is that what ive been taught to think. why is our only choices exploiting everybody to get to the top, killing yourself to get the career you want (and not guaranteed to you), or joining the military. and before somebody says yea no shit dude, i know; been known, but frustrating nonetheless. i do think im a bit lazy. im not a great person but im a person ig. unsure why morality of it is bugging me right now. just funny how intertwined being a good person and having a good productive work ethic is intertwined. maybe its supposed to be, i dont know. dont feel like it sometimes. im working, but when im not, theres a sick feeling in my head that im a bad person. and i do think that is engrained by the people around us, and maybe im lazy, but i would like it gone. sometimes i just wanna live, thats what my existence is for. morality defined by ur usefulness and work ethics is just offputting. but also im no one special so thats my view of it, there are good people who strive for a lot and thats very lovely. i just dont think thats me
