was making a makima & quanxi inspired playlist....and there's a storyline of them in my head I can't get out; some prequel where quanxi is assigned under makima, in her team for a job. and for the whole time, she notices makima isn't what she seems and yet quanxi is so silently pulled towards makima, like everyone is, and it's set at the time realises she starts to realise she likes women, watching kishibe trip over his feet for makima, watching all the men around her do so, dismissing it in her head. but then makima would turn her attention to her. and all the things that would stir in quanxi, and this is the moment kishibe would watch them interact, and suspect, realise he really doesn't have a chance with quanxi, would see her usually stoic face betray her under makima's gaze. and there would be fight scenes and moments of pure tension: like quanxi seeing something in makima she wasn't supposed to amidst a fight, danger, danger, danger, and her begining to notice how much makima has the world under her control, and all the attraction turning to horror. the assignment ends and quanxi buries all the messy feelings and knowledge she has about makima away and legs it back to china, growing more comfortable herself, slowly finds her four fiend gfs and it takes it to canon kishibe and quanxi reuniting after all that time, and her saying...... ignorance is bliss. she means it.
