When time comes to keep limbs warm, I’ll wear my wool mittens made of pure Bergschaf wool. They take about 4 hours to wet felt; 3-4 days to fully dry; and then an hour to felt on a design. As for mimosa flowers, my childhood memory of them was remembering mimosas as the first flowers emerging in stores in the winter. It was a beautiful sight seeing the tiny bright yellow fluffy balls against the white landscape. I’ll have just one pair of these with me at the Portland Fine Craft Show tomorrow. It is in my classes where I give away all my trade secrets. 😄 In all seriousness, I enjoy teaching and passing on my skills. The skills and techniques learned take various shapes depending on a student’s unique creative journey. This photo is a fitting representative of my felting journey. Not in a sense that I got myself all tangled up in pounds of wool roving. 😁 I see it more as being enveloped in wool and gently pulled in the direction I need to go. I certainly feel this pulling energy in real life when I put my felting pad on my lap, dig my fingers into soft wool texture, and stab it with needles hundreds of thousands times. ☺️ Photo: @winkylewis Это фото хорошо представляет мой путь к валянию. My morning today was filled with good energy, precisely, listening to @cybele.felt talk about various types of sheep breeds and its fleece/wool. I’m beyond appreciative and truly in awe of her knowledge, generosity, and passion. As part of the workshop, most of us felted vessels from the wool we had on hand.
