When time comes to keep limbs warm, I’ll wear my wool mittens made of pure Bergschaf wool. They take about 4 hours to wet felt; 3-4 days to fully dry; and then an hour to felt on a design. As for mimosa flowers, my childhood memory of them was remembering mimosas as the first flowers emerging in stores in the winter. It was a beautiful sight seeing the tiny bright yellow fluffy balls against the white landscape. I’ll have just one pair of these with me at the Portland Fine Craft Show tomorrow. This photo is a fitting representative of my felting journey. Not in a sense that I got myself all tangled up in pounds of wool roving. 😁 I see it more as being enveloped in wool and gently pulled in the direction I need to go. I certainly feel this pulling energy in real life when I put my felting pad on my lap, dig my fingers into soft wool texture, and stab it with needles hundreds of thousands times. ☺️ Photo: @winkylewis Это фото хорошо представляет мой путь к валянию. Thank you all who came out to #mcafinecraftshow yesterday to support artists and fine crafters. And thank you @maine_crafts_association for all your hard work, prompt communications, and care. One thing that I missed so much since the start of the pandemic is in-person interactions and seeing happy faces that my whimsies bring upon. Yesterday my booth was overflowing with positive emotions. I could see sheer delight of many even through masks. When my love for felting transports onto others by way of a smile or experiencing a positive emotion, my work feels complete. ☺️ P.S.
