A wholesome father-son moment… could’ve been Gavriel and Aedion but nooooo Sarah killed him off. The most wholesome father son moment was literally with Dorian’s father’s ghost 💀 then his ghost was destroyed too. Lorcan’s mated male revenge: look Rowan got his mated male revenge. I fully contend Lorcan deserved his mated male revenge too. But noooo Aelin just had to butt in😒. More cadre backstory bc they’re hot warriors who were together for centuries, duh. What Lorcan did. More Lucien. More Eris. More Lucien. More Eris. More Lucien. More Eris. I’m a simple woman, I just want more hot Vanserra boys. Lucien’s POV when he went to get Vassa. I mean, I was so sure we’d get his POV for this and I was furious we didn’t. I mean come on, he ventured where even the most powerful High Lord feared to tread. And survived, by himself. And I want to know how he felt meeting Elain and Feyre’s father. I want to know what obstacles he faced. The other courts: We’ve BARELY seen any court besides Night and Spring, and there are three courts we haven’t seen at all. I’m still hoping we’ll get this because of a potential elucien book (also my hope for seeing firedick), but idk why it has taken this long. More Aidas. I thought he’d be more important but he kind of disappeared after book 1. “Aidas” in book 2 was literally the Asteri💀. CAN WE HAVE ONE GOOD WEDDING SCENE???? WE WERE ROBBED OF THE ROWAELIN AND ELORCAN WEDDINGS. Idc for Feysand, but they won’t have a wedding scene either. No chaorene wedding either 😭 . We haven’t even got a mating ceremony. We’d better get the Lysaedion wedding at least🙄.

“You have to be nice to him,” you told your parents a hundred times. Your mother just gave you a wicked smile. “Please don’t turn into anything terrifying.” You nearly begged, but she wouldn’t make any promises. She never did.

“I think it would be funny.” Gavriel said from the table, setting down the book he was reading.

You narrowed your eyes at him. “You’re supposed to be on my side.” He didn’t answer, only turned back to the book with a telling smile.

‘Gods,’ you thought. ‘This might be another mistake.’

Your boyfriend, thankfully, was rather even keeled and took most things with good humor. However, meeting three legendary warriors might be a bit much for him. He seemed anxious the entire walk up, enough that you nudged him in the side. “Don’t show any fear,” you hissed.

“I’m not scared.” He protested, but his eyes gave everything away. Your father, Aedion, was sharpening a gods-damned knife in the window, and bared his teeth in a not-so-friendly grin as they approached.

He moved out of the way, and you noticed they’d decided to make this a family occasion. You stopped to groan. The King and Queen of Terrasen, your parents, and your grandfather, all gathered to meet your boyfriend who now clenched his hands in tight fists to keep them from shaking. “It’s not too late to turn back,” you murmured but he shook his head.

“I’ll be fine.” He said through slightly clenched teeth, still stiff as you tried to lay a reassuring hand on his arm.

It was the most uncomfortable dinner of your life as everyone drilled him with a variety of different questions. Your father stared at him with an alarming intensity until your mother elbowed him harshly in the ribs. Rowan and Gavriel seemed to be playing off of each other, barely giving the poor man enough time to answer one question before bouncing to another.

“Enough.” You said finally, all but banging your fist on the table. ‘Let him be.”

He shot you a grateful look, and you winced. Wrong move.

“Is there something wrong with us asking a few questions?” Aelin tilted her head to look at him.

“N-no your highness.” She snorted and turned back to your mother, engaging her in conversation.

“I don't know if this will work” He muttered quickly as you left the house.

“Excuse me?” Your pitch grew higher. “What the fuck did they say?”

“They didn’t,” he scratched the back of his head. “It’s just a lot.”

It took you three seconds to make a decision. “Pathetic.” You rolled your eyes and started back towards the house, leaving him gaping behind you. You pointedly ignored the hawk in the nearby tree, the mountain lion crouching behind a bush, and the ghost leopard hiding in the shadows. In fact, you took the long way back.

“What the hell did all of you do to him?” You shoved the door open, finding five not-so-innocent faces. You kicked it closed behind you, crossing your arms. “I liked that one.”

“You need to pick them better.” Your mother shrugged before offering you a glass of wine.
