[two screenshots juxtaposing two sets of lyrics from fiona apple songs:
“I certainly haven't been shopping for any new shoes / And / I certainly haven't been spreading myself around / I still only travel by foot and by foot it's a slow climb / But I'm good at being uncomfortable so / I can't stop changing all the time / I noticed that my opponent is always on the go / And/ Won't go slow, so 's not to focus, and I notice / He'll hitch a ride with any guide, as long as / They go fast from whence he came / But he's no good at being uncomfortable, so  / He can't stop staying exactly the same.”
“I'd like to buy you a pair of pillow-soled hiking boots / To help you with your climb / Or rather, to help the bodies that you step over along your route / So they won't hurt like mine.”]

Fiona Apple: Fetch the Bolt Cutters
Tumblr media
Fiona Apple has been a household name since 1996 after releasing her debut album of poetry and jazz-rock' Tidal' and catching the public's eyes with tracks such as the rageful and skeptical "Criminal" and "Shadowboxer." However, Fiona Apple realized the spotlight was not for her and spent most of her career in the shadows, avoiding tabloids and performances. After years of hiatus, Apple released her groundbreaking lyrical and technical masterpiece "Fetch the Bolt Cutters," recorded in her Venice Beach home. From the first seconds of the opening track "I Want You to Love Me," it is already clear that this is territory not yet heard from Apple or any musical artist. This album stands out amongst her discography with marching ballads such as "Relay" or the bold and telling "Under the Table." Fetch the Bolt Cutters unravels itself like a young girl's diary: angry, unapologetic, and audacious.

🔊🔊🔊 KAZUMA ASOGIIIIIII show off ur man!! also fran bc u get her and we dont have a fran playlist. aaaand let's get a tune for beverly toegold the fifth, just to shake things up : )
kazuma asogi: okay so the thing is for kazuma i have a very hard time deciding on ONE singular song for him so you're gonna get Several, in no particular order, but also with no explanation because you haven't finished the games yet, so enjoy these fucked up vibes i guess:
heel turn 2 -- the mountain goats (spotify) (extremely honorable mention from the same album: foreign object)
boy division -- my chemical romance (spotify)
under the table -- fiona apple (spotify)
dance little liar -- the arctic monkeys (spotify)
laplace's angel -- will wood (spotify)
franziska von karma: this was difficult but tbh my go to franziska song continues to be rät by penelope scott (mostly thanks to this animatic), altho an honorable mention goes to still sane by lorde (which i think fits her p well lyrics-wise but does not have the same insane energy that i associate with her ya kno)
beverly toegold the fifth: im gonna be honest a proper answer to this one would require a full-relisten to naddpod campain 1 which i simply do not have time for atm, but the first one that came to mind is boy by john mark nelson, which i think just fits his Vibe

FETCH THE BOLTCUTTERS!
#100+ lyrics taken from the 2020 fiona apple album. feel free to tweak as needed.
I WANT YOU TO LOVE ME.
By that time, I hope that you love me.
I know none of this will matter in the long run.
I know a sound is still a sound around no one.
While I’m in this body, I want someone to want.
I want what I want, and what I want is you to love me.
I know that you do in the dark.
We don’t have to go back to where we’ve been.
I am the woman who wants you to win.
I’ve been waiting, waiting for you to love me.
SHAMEIKA.
But ___ said I had potential.
I used to march down the windy, windy sidewalk slapping my leg with a riding crop.
I didn't smile, because a smile always seemed rehearsed.
I wasn't afraid of the bullies, and that just made the bullies worse.
He told me he'd describe me as pissed off, funny, and warm.
You said I'm a good man in a storm.
Back then I didn't know what potential meant.
She wasn't gentle and she wasn't my friend.
She got through to me and I'll never see her again.
I'm pissed off, funny, and warm.
I'm a good man in a storm.
FETCH THE BOLT CUTTERS.
I’ve been thinking about when I was trying to be your friend.
I was just so furious, but I couldn’t show you.
I know you and I know what you can do.
I don’t want a war with you, I can’t afford it.
You get sore, even when you win.
You maim when you’re on offense, but you kill when you’re on defense.
You’ve got them all convinced that you’re the means and the end.
I’ve always been too smart for that.
Fetch the bolt cutters, I’ve been in here too long.
I listened because I hadn’t found my own voice yet.
All I could hear was the noise that people make when they don’t know shit.
I grew up in shoes they told me I could fill.
A girl can roll her eyes at me and kill.
I got the idea I wasn’t real.
UNDER THE TABLE.
I would beg to disagree, but begging disagrees with me.
I told you I didn’t want to go to this dinner.
That fancy wine won’t put this fire out.
Kick me under the table all you want, I won’t shut up.
If I don’t want to go, leave me alone!
Don’t push me, cookie, don’t push me, don’t you push me--
You can pout, but don’t you shush me.
RELAY.
Evil is a relay sport.
I resent you for being raised right.
I resent you for being tall.
I resent you for having each other.
I resent you presenting your life like a fucking propaganda brochure.
I see that you keep trying to bait me.
I’d love to get up on your face.
I know if I hate you for hating me, I will have entered this endless race.
I used to go to the Ferris wheel every morning just to throw my anger out the door.
RACK OF HIS.
I followed you from room to room with no attention.
It was because I was loving you so much.
It’s the only reason I gave my time to you.
They don’t know what thy are in for and they don’t care, but I do.
I thought you would wail on me like you wail on them.
You know you won’t like it when there’s nothing to do.
I’ve been used so many times.
I’ve learned to use myself in kind.
NEWSPAPER.
I too used to want him to be proud of me.
I just wanted to make amends.
I wonder what lies he’s telling you about me, to make sure that we’ll never be friends.
It’s a shame because you and I didn’t get a witness.
We’re the only ones who know.
We were cursed the moment that he kissed us.
I grew concerned when I saw him start to covet you.
When I learned what he did, I felt close to you.
I felt close to you.
In my own way, I fell in love with you.
He’s made a ghost of you.
I wanna stand between you, but that’s not what I’m supposed to do.
I watch him walk over, talk over you, be mean to you.
It makes me feel close to you.
You’re wearing time like a flowery crown.
LADIES.
Yet another woman to whom I won’t get through.
Ladies, ladies, ladies, ladies, take it easy.
When he leaves me, please be my guest.
Don’t get rid of it, you’d look good in it.
It belonged to the ex-wife of another ex of mine.
She left it behind with a note, one line.
I don’t know if I’m coming across, but I’m really trying.
Nobody can replace anybody else.
It would be a shame to make it a competition.
No love is like any other love.
It would be insane to make a comparison with you.
HEAVY BALLOON.
People like us, we play with a heavy balloon.
It always falls away too soon.
I spread like strawberries.
I’ve been sucking it in so long that I’m busting at the seams.
It grows relentless like the teeth of a rat.
It’s just got to keep gnawing on me.
The pressure grows instead of seed.
People like us get so heavy and so lost sometimes.
The bottom is the only place we can find.
You get dragged down to the same place enough times in a row, the bottom begins to feel like the only safe space that you know.
COSMONAUTS.
Your face ignites a fuse to my patience.
Whatever you do, it’s gonna be wrong.
Be good to me before you’re gone.
When I met you, I was fine with my nothing.
I grew with you and now I’ve changed.
What I’ve become is something that can’t be without your loving.
Be good to me, it isn’t a game.
Now let me see, it’s you and me.
Forgive? Good God.
How do you suppose that we’ll survive.
You and I will be like a couple of cosmonauts.
When you resist me, I cease to exist.
I only like the way I look when looking through your eyes.
FOR HER.
See how seamless his frocks are!
Look at how long she walks and how far.
Was she lost?
Maybe she spent her formative years dealing with his contentious fears.
She’s tired of planting her knees on the cold hard floor of facts.
Your strike my have been exact, but you know that you never really go to the mat.
You tie everything all pretty in the second act when you know that it didn’t go exactly like that.
You were so high.
DRUMSET.
Why did you take it all away?
I did nothing wrong.
I don’t believe your reasoning.
Now I understand you’re human.
You’ve got to lie, you’re a man.
You’ve got to get what you want.
Why did you not want to try?
ON I GO.
On I go, no toward or away.
Now I only move to move.
Ah, fuck, shit.
If I get there in the long run, it could be alright.

Hi !! Huge fan of both the Silt Verses and Fiona Apple here, so I was wondering what your favorite Fiona songs are and if there are any you associate with specific characters/relationships in the show :)))
Oh, yes, this is a fun question.
While the specific lyrics don't match up, the energy of pretty much any of Fiona Apple's peerless and varied spectrum of you're-a-toxic-asshole songs is a great warm-up for writing Carpenter (Limp, Dull Tool, Under The Table, Window, Not About Love, Sleep to Dream...).
My personal favourites of her songs are invariably the ones that speak to weary perseverance or a moment of cathartic self-awareness in the face of disappointment, alienation, exhaustion, or repeating cycles of hurt (Paper Bag, Please, Please, Please, The Way Things Are, Valentine, Oh Well, Heavy Balloon), and I think these are a good fit for the show.
I had Cosmonauts playing over and over as I worked on the series finale - it works rather beautifully for Carpenter and Faulkner as a pairing, but also for Carpenter and the Trawler-man, that sense of two individuals caught in each other's orbit, weighed down by the baggage they accumulate along the way, unable to ever fully break free of each other.
But I think her cover of the deeply weird, creeping River, Stay Away From My Door might be the most overall appropriate:
You keep going your way I'll keep going my way River, stay away from the door.
I just got a cabin, You don't need my cabin.
River stay away from the door.
Don't come up any higher. I'm so all alone. Leave the bed and the fire. That is all I own.
I ain't breakin' your heart. Don't start breakin' my heart. River stay away from the door.
And finally, I mention this in the Patreon lorebook, but the chorus to So Sleepy is, I firmly believe, a ludicrous bop. No workshopped charity single about cranky gummi bears has any business being that good.

Blackbeard|Ed Teach / Stede Bonnet Playlist
This is a relationship playlist for them. It is split into four parts; before they met, them falling in love, them during the breakup, and them (mostly Blackbeard) figuring out how to live without each other. This playlist was made to listen to chronologically. Be warned: This is not a happy playlist.
Below is a list of each song on the playlist with accompanying lyrics from the song which I feel are the most important/relevant. A song which would be from Stede’s perspective will be highlighted in blue, a song from Ed’s perspective will be highlighted in red, and a song that is both will be pink.
Part 1
“In the Car Outside” — The Killers
“I'm in the car, I just needed to clear my head / She's in the house with the baby cryin' on the bed / She's got this thing where she puts up the walls so high / We got a place with a fence and a little grass / I put this film on the windows, and it looks like chapel glass / But when she turns, it's like the shadow of the cross don't cast / No blessin' over our lonely life”
“John Wayne Gacy, Jr.” — Sufjan Stevens
“His father was a drinker and his mother cried in bed / Look underneath the house there / Find the few living things, rotting fast, in their sleep / He'd kill ten thousand people / With a slight of his hand, running far, running fast to the dead / He put a cloth on their lips, quiet hands, quiet kiss on the mouth / And in my best behavior / I am really just like him / Look beneath the floor boards / For the secrets I have hid”
“Under The Table” — Fiona Apple
“I would beg to disagree, but begging disagrees with me / I told you I didn't want to go to this dinner / You know I don't go for those ones that you bother about / So when they say something that makes me start to simmer / That fancy wine won't put this fire out, oh / Kick me under the table all you want / I won't shut up”
“West Hills” — The Killers
“Some nights we drive up the mouth of the canyon / On hillbilly heroin pills / We get out and watch the sunset / Peaceful and still / And free in the West Hills / When the sheriff kicked my door down / I was sleeping in my own bed / And they got me for possession / Of them hillbilly heroin pills / Enough to kill the horses that run / Free in the West Hills”
Part 2
“My Little Demon” — Fleetwood Mac
“All of my friends, all tellin' me / That I just ain't the man I used to be / My little demon / Is coming after me / My little demon / It's all that I could do / To keep that little demon / Yes, to keep that little demon / Away from you”
“Sleepwalker” — The Killers
“The hills are barren, but we look for what's to come / Sweeter skies and longer days of sun / When you wake up, I'll be standing in the line / To kiss your eyes and wipe the tears from mine / 'Cause everyone is afraid of something / Even the strongest man alive”
“Lolo 13” — Laura Jane Grace
“Are you flirting? / I'm still not certain / You're a real person / Yet still I'm searching / For a girl boy in a city that I dreamed of / We met on a night that my mind made up / It all felt so real, why'd I ever have to wake up”
“Look For Me (I’ll Be Around)” — Neko Case
“May not seem exciting / The way those others do / I'm emotion / My devotion / You will need / Someday as I need you / When the kicks go / That it brings you / You will hanker /For an anchor / Just to cling to / When you've lived it up / 'Til it's got you down / Look for me / Look for me / Look for me / I'll be around”
“Love In The Shadows” — The Magnetic Fields
“The whispers you hear / Are not sweet nothings / Let's have one more beer / And I'll tell you something / Don't laugh / I think you're beautiful / Love In the Shadows / Was never hard to find / Sometimes the moonglow / Plays tricks on your mind / Love in the Shadows is the only kind”
“Peach Trees” — Rufus Wainwright
“Is true love a trip to Chinatown / Or being held in one's opium gaze / Under the peach trees / There I will be, will be until you come and get me / Cause I'm so tired of waiting in restaurants / Reading the critics and comics alone / And I really do wish you were here next to me”
“This Tornado Loves You” — Neko Case
“I want you / Carved your name across three counties / Ground it in with bloody hides / Their broken necks will line the ditch / 'Til you cry “stop it, stop it Stop this madness!” / I want you / I miss / How you sigh yourself to sleep / When I rake the springtime across your sheets / I left them motherless, fatherless / Their souls dangling inside out from their mouths / but it’s never enough / Morning finds you / still warm and breathing / This tornado loves you / what will make you believe me?”
“The Book of Love” — The Magnetic Fields
“The book of love is long and boring / and written very long ago / It's full of flowers and heart-shaped boxes / and things we're all too young to know / but I, I love it when you give me things / and you, you ought to give me wedding rings”
“When My Boy Walks Down The Street” — The Magnetic Fields
“Butterflies turn into people when my boy walks down the street / Maybe he should be illegal he just makes life too complete... / Amazing he's a whole new form of life / Blue eyes blazing and he's going to be my wife / Grand pianos crash together when my boy walks down the street / There are whole new kinds of weather when he walks with his new beat / Everyone sings hallelujah when my boy walks down the street / Life just kind of dances through ya from your smile down to your feet”
“He’s Funny That Way” — Bob Dylan
“Once he dressed in silks and lace / And owned a Rolls Royce car / Now he seems quite out of place / Like a fallen star / I'm not much to look at / Nothing to see / Just glad I'm living / And lucky to be / I've got a man crazy for me / He's funny that way / Though he'd love to work / And slave for me everyday / He'd be so much better off / If I went away”
Part 3
“The Chain” — Fleetwood Mac
“Damn your love and damn your lies / and if you don’t love me now / you’ll never love me again.”
“Cadaver Sniffing Dogs” — The Mountain Goats
“Stray clumps of hair and blood and brain / Fragments of bone in the drain / Rookies trying to keep the airway clear / But the damage is too severe / Army crawlers down ash wet floor / Ready for war / Veterans on their hands and knees / Nobody's ready for days like these”
“The Predatory Wasp of the Palisades is Out to Get Us!” — Sufjan Stevens
“Oh how I meant to tease him / Oh how I meant no harm / Touching his back with my hand I kiss him / I see the wasp on the length of my arm / I can't explain the state that I'm in / The state of my heart, he was my best friend / Terrible sting and terrible storm / My friend is gone, he ran away / I can tell you, I love him each day”
“I Wish I Was The Moon” — Neko Case
“As numb as I’ve become… I’m so tired / I wish I was the moon tonight / God bless me I’m a free man / with no free place to go / paralyzed and collar tight”
Part 4
“The Things We Did and Didn’t Do” — The Magnetic Fields
“All the things I knew I didn't know / And didn't want to know / That you told me / Just to tell me later that you'd told me so / All the things you said you'd never say and you said anyway / Come flooding back to me now”
“Desperate Things” — The Killers
“There was blood from her mouth, dry on her shoulder / I've never had much patience for guys that hit / For more than just obvious reasons / When you're in love / You can be blinded by your own heart / You'll bend your own truth / So twisted up you could justify sin / And when people in love are desperate enough / To abandon their dreams / People do desperate things”
“Waiting For A Dream” — Rufus Wainwright
“Waiting for the present, for the present to pass / Waiting for a dream to last / You are not my lover, and you never will be / Diving through the rising, through the rising waves of night / Keeping a reflection of you in hindsight / But in turning back the brackish waters will not reflect you”
“I Don’t Wanna Get Over You” — The Magnetic Fields
“I guess I should take Prozac, right? / And just smile all night / At somebody new / Somebody is not too bright / But sweet and kind / Who would try to get you off my mind / I could leave this agony behind / Which is just what I'd do / If I wanted to / But I don't wanna get over you / 'Cause I don't wanna get over love”
“Like I Used To” — Sharon Van Etten, Angel Olsen
“Will the marker stain the skin? / Stole the dress I saw you in / Now nothing comes to mind / Saw a life as override / One more session overdrive / Well, my head's gone today / Sell my past for a way / To sing and have something left to say / Pray my hands, pray my voice / Give the reason, take away / Make believe an order for to stay / Lighting one up like I used to / Dancing all alone like I used to / Giving it up like I used to”
“Love Is Like A Bottle Of Gin” — The Magnetic Fields
“It could make you regret your birth / Or turn cartwheels in your best suit / It costs a lot more than it's worth / And yet there is no substitute / You just get out what they put in / And they never put in enough / Love is like a bottle of gin / But a bottle of gin is not like love”
“Silver Springs” — Fleetwood Mac
“Time cast a spell on you but you won’t forget me / I know I could have loved you but you would not let me / I’ll follow you down till the sound of my voice will haunt you.”

Top 12 Songs of 2020
Thanks to @alamborghini for tagging me!  twelve of my favorite songs from this year--I initially tried to go by around when I discovered them, but ended up just selecting at random and added my favorite lyrics.
January: “That’s On Me” by Mac Miller: I don’t know where I’ve been lately, but I’ve been alright, I said good morning this morning and I’ll say goodnight.
February: “Can I Be Done” by Julia Nunes: I’m on my own, back on my bullshit, I’ve come unraveled, might as well pull it.
March: “Under the Table” by Fiona Apple: Kick me under the table all you want, I won’t shut up, I won’t shut up.
April: “Peaches” by K.Flay and grandson: I wish I could fly with the sparrows, I’m stuck in the ground with the scarecrows. I know it gets better, I hope it gets better from here.
May: “Again” by Rowe: You replay in black and white every fragment I memorized, constantly crystallizing.
June: “Just Exist” by Eliza & the Delusionals: If I could hold my breath around you, it could make it easier. If I could just exist without you, it could make it easier.
July: “Ghost” by MisterWives: In all I do, I see you. Thought I saw you at a show, but no, so I dance alone.
August: “Homegirl” by King Princess: And I like the way that you talk slow, spelling my name with your tongue, so, you don’t have to say it, we’re friends at the party, I’ll give you my body at home.
September: "Over Yet” by Hayley Williams: It’s the right time to come alive, baby, if you wanna try.
October: “American Cars” by Annie: I’ll let go of the wheel and take hold of my heart, so before we crash, kiss me under the stars, in American cars.
November: “Suck Up” by Talker: Another new disguise, versions of a theme, I try to figure out my name, but it’s symbols I can’t read.
December: “Midnight Sky” by Miley Cyrus: Fire in my lungs, can’t bite the devil on my tongue, oh no, I don’t need to be loved by you.
tagging @slutabed @coolabed-films @lesbiannie @stabbymermaid and anyone else who might wanna jump in on this, go for it!

If Andrew & Neil were Real Men™ they would LOVE Fiona Apple.
While reading All for the Game by Nora Sakavic, I kept finding Fiona Apple songs getting stuck in my head. In this essay I will demonstrate how if Andrew and Neil were Real Men they would love Fiona Apple. And I think Kevin would love her too tbh.
Never is a Promise from the album Tidal (1996) But never is a promise/And you can't afford to lie
Okay, so this song would be perfect for Andrew. It touches on others not being able to understand what she is going through and how when they try they are at great risk of fucking everything up. Also, its about how fucking serious and important promises are. Some other highlights;
You'll say don't fear your dreams It's easier than it seems You'll say you'd never Let me fall from hopes so high But never is a promise And you can't afford to lie
Kevin promises that he can make Andrew Court, make Exy something that will matter and save him. Andrew doesn’t really believe him but also is intrigued enough to make their deal.
But as the scenery grows I see in different lights The shades and shadows Undulate in my perception My feelings swell and stretch I see from greater heights I realize what I am now Too smart to mention To you
This is Andrew and his feelings for Neil. He senses things are changing in how he feels about Neil, Exy, and life in general but he would NEVER share that. And the song ends with a
But never is a promise And I'll never need a lie
He can handle anything, just don’t fucking lie to him.
But wait! There’s more!!
Periphery from the album The Idler Wheel Is Wiser Than the Driver of the Screw and Whipping Cords Will Serve You More Than Ropes Will Ever Do (2012) (can I just say, the fucking album title even man, so Andrew) Stay away/Away, away/Stay away, away
Apparently, I’ve been miss-singing this song for years because the lyrics are different than I thought but let’s go with it anyway.
Cause I don't appreciate People who Don't appreciate All that loving must've been lacking something If I got bored trying to figure you out You let me down I don't even like you anymore at all
Do I even have to say it? Andreil. So I always thought the lyric went, “All that nothing must've been lacking something/ If I got bored trying to figure you out” which is why I thought it was like really perfect but I still think its pretty good. Andrew trying to talk himself out of liking Neil. How many times did he say he would get bored? How many times did he? Maybe if he jammed out to this song he would have been able to realign his perspective but still probably not.
Under the Table from the album Fetch the Bolt Cutters (2020) Kick me under the table all you want/I won't shut up
This song is about her getting dragged to an event she didn’t want to go to then reading the table to filth when they piss her off while whoever made her come is trying to get her to be quiet. It’s basically Neil’s anthem.
I told you I didn't want to go to this dinner You know I don't go for those ones that you bother about So when they say something that makes me start to simmer That fancy wine won't put this fire out, oh
Kick me under the table all you want I won't shut up I won't shut up
And if I don't wanna go, leave me alone, don't push me Cookie, don't push me, don't you push me If you get me to go and I open my mouth To the fucking mutton that they're talking about You can pout, but don't you, don't you, don't you, don't you, don't you shush me
I would beg to disagree, but begging disagrees with me
So those were the main songs I thought of but there are more. Everyone should listen to Fiona Apple she is a god and we don’t deserve her.
Some other Gems [(song title) (who I think of)]
I let the beast in too soon/I don't know how to live without my hand on his throat/I fight him always and still/O darling, it's so sweet/You think you know how crazy/How crazy I am/You say you don't spook easy/You won't go/But I know/And I pray that you will (Fast As You Can) (Andrew @ Neil)
So be it, I’m your crowbar/If that’s what I am so far/Until you get out of this mess/And I will pretend/That I don’t know of your sins/Until you are ready to confess/But all the time, all the time/I’ll know, I’ll know (I Know) (Andrew @ Neil)
I seem to you to seek a new disaster every day/You deem me due to clean my view and be at peace and lay/I mean to prove I mean to move in my own way, and say/I've been getting along for long before you came into the play (Extraordinary Machine) (Neil @ Andrew)
Everything good I deem too good to be true/Everything else is just a bore (O’Sailor) (Andrew)
Maybe you let me look out for you/Protect what I found in you/And never let it starve/Then that way, you let me stay/Skirtin' the skirt like I want to/And I will try hard to hold onto you with open arms/But don't let me ruin me/I may need a chaperone (Daredevil) (Neil @ Andrew)
And I kept touching my neck to guide your eye to where/I wanted you to kiss me when we find some time alone/My scars were reflecting the mist in your headlights/I look like a neon zebra shaking rain off her stripes/And the rivulets had you riveted to the places that/I wanted you to kiss me when we find some time alone (Anything We Want) (Andreil)
And I know none of this will matter in the long run/But I know a sound is still a sound around no one/And while I'm in this body/I want somebody to want/And I want what I want and I want (I Want You to Love Me) (Neil @ Andrew when he thinks he’s gonna die by the end of the year)
And you maim when you're on offense/But you kill when you're on defense/And you've got them all convinced/That you're the means and the end (Fetch the Bolt Cutters) (Andrew)
I resent you for being raised right/I resent you for being tall/I resent you for never getting any opposition at all/I resent you for having each other/I resent you for being so sure/I resent you presenting your life like a fucking propaganda brochure (Relay) (Neil @ Kevin)
Your face ignites a fuse to my patience/Whatever you do, it's gonna be wrong/There's no time to interrupt the detonation/Be good to me before you're gone/When I met you, I was fine with my nothing/I grew with you and now I've changed/What I've become is something I can't be without your loving/Be good to me, it isn't a game (Cosmonauts) (Andreil)
In Conclusion: I love Fiona Apple, I love aftg, and I think they should love each other. Thank you.

Fetch The Bolt Cutters! (Originally stylised: Fetch the Bolt Cutters)
honestly there are very few albums i’ve felt this attached to or have been affected by at this level. i feel it really unblocked something in me that had been blocked for a long time. and i have spent so much time writing down the lyrics by hand, again and again, to put them on my wall, to put them here. i feel seen by this album, by both its words and music. thank you fiona apple.
also here are some of my fave words from the album:
I know a sound is still a sound around no one
I'm pissed off, funny, and warm   A girl can roll her eyes at me and kill I got the idea I wasn't real   I grew up in the shoes they told me I could fill Shoes that were not made for running up that hill And I need to run up that hill, I need to run up that hill I will, I will, I will, I will, I will   I WOULD BEG TO DISAGREE BUT BEGGING DISAGREES WITH ME   Kick me under the table all you want I won't shut up, I won't shut up   Evil is a relay sport When the one who's burned Turns to pass the torch   I resent you for being raised right I resent you for being tall I resent you for never getting any opposition at all I resent you for having each other I resent you for being so sure I resent you presenting your life like a fucking propaganda brochure   I wonder what lies he's telling you about me To make sure that we'll never be friends   Ladies, ladies, ladies, ladies Ladies, ladies, ladies, ladies Ladies, ladies, ladies, ladies Ladies, ladies, ladies, ladies   You get dragged down, down to the same spot enough times in a row The bottom begins to feel like the only safe place that you know But you know what? I spread like strawberries (I spread like strawberries) I climb like peas and beans (I climb like peas and beans)   Be good to me, it isn't a game   The drumset is gone And the rug it was on Is still here screaming at me Why did you take it all away?

“Goddess” by BANKS: a Gift from a Goddess itself.
Tumblr media
Judul: Goddess Artist: BANKS Label: Harvest Records Rilis: 5 September 2014 Durasi: 59:37
Seperti judul dari album ini, she does sound like a Goddess.
“Give me something to convince me I’m not a monster,” ucap BANKS pada pembuka dari album ini yang berjudul “Alibi”. “Brains” mendemonstrasikan “what it sounds like when BANKS  is at her spiciest”. Dari tittle track “Goddess” dapat dirasakan bahwa pandangan BANKS sangat unapologetically female: “You should’ve crowned her, cause she’s a goddess, you never got this,” penyampainnya terdengar sangat emosional dan powerful, almost sounds like seething kind of anger.
Listening to this album is a whole new experience, it will make you zone out! But still, give it a try first, you’ll fall in love with this masterpiece.
