Animal Neglect

stripesandteeth/luxebytes/London has a long, tired history of mistreating their animals, neglecting them and putting them in situations which are actively bad for them.

People who have lived with them and roomed with them at cons have actively spoken up. One roommate indicated that London barely feeds their cars and that London's two cats would stand outside of their door hungry every morning.

Others indicate that London took their elderly cat to a convention and didn't feed them, freshen their water or change her litter and left it to them instead.

A third account indicates that one of London's cats is allergic to other cats, yet actively chooses to adopt more cats to place near the allergic cat, and took a photo of the cat with a face that (by the looks of their drippy eyes) are in bad shape. Furthermore, London attempted to make this animals heartbreaking state "cute" by making a merch design out of it:

Lastly, London evidentially adopted a Malamute puppy only to abandon it.

Is it ok if I reference your art? I want to make a reference sheet for my character and you're so good at drawing my body type. I would NOT directly trace yours, but it might come out as the same pose as whatever I end up referencing. If that's not okay, I understand and it's completely fine! If it makes you uncomfortable, I will not use your art as a reference. (Sorry I'm bad at wording things)

sure! referencing poses or w/e is super okay with me ^^ also tbh, i don't mind if people trace* my art,

they're not posting it, and especially not posting it claiming it's their own. anyone can *privately * use my work to learn shapes or lines or whatever else, tracing is a good tool to feel out the shapes in art.

note: by tracing, i specifically mean breaking down the art to bare bones shapes. finding the circles and squares and bean shapes that compose the anatomy in a piece, NOT just tracing along the lines. direct tracing does not work as a tool, and is something i'm very not okay with happening to my work. ... annnd is something i very heavily encourage you to avoid for the sake of learning on your own.

Hi! This is mod Cy here, this blog has gotten immensely popular in ways I could have never imagined! It's really cool to see so many people who are interested in this lesser known era of sparkledog art and we're all glad to share this with you. With this in mind, we wanted to communicate a few things to our followers:

This blog does not endorse the people we feature here, nor do we excuse their behavior. We are well aware of VanillaKitsune/Vani's history of scamming and manipulative behavior and we do not want to seem like we are endorsing them and their continued behavior.

In fact, we would like to bring awareness to Vani, who now goes by London/luxebytes, that they are still the same scammer as they've always been and to beware. However, their art is important for understanding the beginning and evolution of oekakidog art, so we will continue to feature their work here. Again, this is not an endorsement, and we ask of you to look at our various links about their scamming behavior and avoid supporting them.

It's a little late to announce this, but both of us are on Art Fight as CytricAcid and Willobark! We also want to draw attention to the tag "oekakidog" to be used on both toyhouse and art fight to identify sparkledogs who are inspired by the oekaki era of sparkledogs.

In the future, we hope to develop a "guide" of sorts of the types of traits popular in oekaki dogs, as well as accepting "neooekakidog art" inspired by them.

Lastly, please do not bother artists we post here to buy their OCs. It's rude to ask people to buy their OCs unprompted and we've been starting to see trends of people bothering old sparkledog artists for their old characters. While some of us do not connect with our old characters as much as we did 10-20 years ago, many of us still hold our childhood OCs with nostalgic regard. Please respect the artists we post and do not harass them about their old characters.

And once more, we do take submissions if you have art from this era! If they are on an extant art site, please just submit your page on that website; otherwise, we ask you send us an ask first before submitting your own artwork in our currently existing format and linking to your preferred social. Thank you, and have fun!

Normally I wouldn't be sharing callout posts/not looking to in the future, but it's surprising the audacity of someone to go "but that's not relevant now" when so many people were hurt.

Luxebytes/StrupesandTeeth honestly have just become the Ezra Miller of the furry fandom - someone who has done horrible shit with no remorse who really should rethink how they act, yet don't care and still are getting paid by people who are selfish and assume others are just lying when there's a shitton of proof.

Who is Vani/Luxebytes?

Vani / VanillaKitsune / Ashketchumsays / Vanimute / luxebytes / stripesandteth is a chronic scammer that has somehow been able to avoid accountability. She has stolen upwards of $10,000 and still making GFM, Kickstarters, and a Patreon to assuredly steal more money.

She has been reported many times on ArtistBeware, and has yet to refund many people. Some have been waiting for 10+ years for art.
