star wars would not have worked if luke and leia had not gone to their respective adoptive families and they switched roles. luke would have been a wonderful prince, but leia could not have done what luke did. she is not as forgiving as luke and padme were. luke was able to bring anakin back to the light because he was able to forgive him and persuade him into coming back. he was able to see the good in a man who could no longer see it in himself, as padme would have/did. leia could not do that, it's not her nature. she's too similar to her father to help bring him back.

Excerpt

Kylo Ren, Supreme Leader of the First Order, couldn't help but feel a sense of anticipation as the dropship carrying him and a squad of elite stormtroopers descended into the planet of Mustafar.

His journey to Mustafar felt to him like a pilgrimage of sorts, visiting the planet his grandfather, the great Sith Lord Darth Vader, once resided.

Yes, he was the Supreme Leader, the de-facto Emperor of the galaxy-- far surpassing anything his grandfather had accomplished in life-- but Kylo still sought his guidance, and his guidance was what led him here.

Kylo had accomplished so much since slaying his master Snoke and taking his place at the head of the First Order nearly a year and a half ago. He had taken the First Order from a nomadic military junta that still hid in the Unknown Regions to heights that rivaled the Empire at its peak. His Order occupied every single major inhabited planet. He re-conquered Coruscant and made his capitol, just as Emperor Palpatine did during his reign.

Yet despite his enormous success, Kylo was still as troubled as ever. The Resistance had gained little ground since he decimated them on Crait, yet they still remained persistent.

The Resistance... led by his mother. Leia. When the moment came before during the attack on the Resistance’s then flagship the Raddus... he couldn't press the trigger to finish her with his TIE Silencer's missiles. He wasn’t sure he'd be able to do it even if given another opportunity. He wasn’t sure he'd be able to murder her like he did his father. A deed that continued to haunt him nearly two years on.

The Resistance... joined by the scavenger. The last Jedi.

She had rejected him and betrayed him after he risked everything and offered her everything. He thought she was different, but she was just like everyone else. Just like Luke Skywalker. Betrayers. Liars. He was not bluffing when he promised his bastard of an uncle that he would destroy her and their precious Jedi Order. All of it.

He hated her. He hated that a part of him still felt everything but hate for her.

Reva looking at an unconscious Luke and seeing her own helpless younger self in his place and ROTS Anakin looking at that young padawan who looks so much like a younger Ani and slaying him even as he asks for help

Reva, for all her need for revenge and bitterness and pain was still not so consumed by the dark side as Anakin Skywalker was that night of the Order 66

Ok, so the new Mandalorian ep dropped and my head is exploding with my need to over analyse everything! Can we all agree:

-There is no way in hell Grogu spent two years with Luke.

-The Armorer this ep was basically a mom very disappointed by her favourite child's behaviour. If she could have grounded Din, she would have. She basically did.

- Bo-Katan really be dialling up that passive aggressiveness and taking out her frustration on the first living being she saw in months.

- Dank Farrik, Din, you know Grogu is baby, just buy him a plushie!

- Disney realising almost nobody knew the Mandalorian's name after two seasons and are thus suddenly reminding he's called 'Din Djarin' every chance they get.

- Greef keeping up the tradition of characters going 'His name is Grogu? Sorry, ain't calling him that!'

-Disney keeping up the tradition of not letting characters actually stay dead and dropping references to other Stars Wars media for fandom purposes.

-So basically this is going to be the season, right? Slay evil pirates, find parts for IG, Rekindle Bo-Katan's spirit, Learn to use the Dark Sabre, Go to Mandalore, Realise the Empire is at it again. Become the Mandalore.

- Disney really said: 'damn, we need to find a new actress for Cara Dune....nah, just cut her!'

So to round it all up:

The Armorer is disappointed in Din.

Bo-Katan is disappointed and angry at Din

Greef is disappointed in Din for not staying and being buddy, buddy.

IG has reverted back to hating Din and Grogu

Space pirates are angry at Din

Luke Skywalker is so disappointed that Grogu chose his dad over him that he wouldn't even fly baby back himself!

We haven't seen it yet, but trailer showed us even New Republic officer is disappointed in Din!
