I was going to touch on this in my overall thoughts of the OPLA, but then I realised I had a lot to say about it.

This, to me, might have been my favourite moment in the One Piece Live Action:

And here's why. OPLA spoilers under the cut.

Nami and her character arc are the things that got me really hooked to One Piece as a teen. I was 13 and at the time, I had no idea if I'd ever finish (at the time) a 600 episode anime. But Arlong Park cemented me in as an OP fan for the rest of my life.

Obviously the Help Me scene was the thing that really got me in for life. But as I grow, I think it was also the way Oda made each moment with each character feel small while also being grand. The small moments make this arc for me. It's complex, and purposefully so.

Throughout the arc, and even prior, Nami is built up with small throw away lines and actions. Questioning why people do things for others, her over generalisation of pirates, her belief that she has no freedom.

She's an exact opposing entity of Luffy. Luffy IS free. He's the concept of freedom. Nami, by default, is not. She not once ever felt free. Her original village was destroyed, her mother killed due to lack of money, having to work for Arlong to survive. She never had freedom.

There's cases like this all over the manga. She's materialistic due to her trauma of lacking freedom. She has to do what she has to to survive. She will put her desire for money (to save the village) FIRST. Because if she doesn't, she will never be free.

I remember this moment so clearly when I saw this for the first time, the thought ingrained into my mind. When I saw she left and abandoned the crew, I was so MAD. I couldn't express my anger. But when I saw this scene, all I could think about was "I feel so bad for her."

I didn't know what was coming, but this scene alone made me feel so sad. And I didn't even know WHY. I felt gut wrenched for her. Looking back, seeing her finally no longer have to do everything herself and allowing herself to break down and ask for help, it also struck me.

However, this moment, now as I've aged, doesn't hit just because it's a relatable feeling. Finally breaking down and getting hope after you've felt so helpless. So many people want that. I wanted that. And seeing it there in front of me hit me hard. The reason why I think this ultimately made this moment work for me was this theme of freedom. The strawhats made her feel like she was safe for even a short moment. She could forget. Nami, for the first time in her life, even for one second, WAS free. She was!

Nojiko highlights this. It's a small panel. It's less than 5 words but it highlights an important aspect of Nami's character. For one moment, she was free, and that's why leaving them hurt her so much.

Usopp describing something as normal as having fun is something we take for granted. But Nojiko knew that this was an important moment for Nami. She knows she's never been free. Remember, Nojiko & the rest of the village KNOW what Nami is doing. Her sacrifice. Her lack of freedom.

So this bring me back to OPLA. There are so many short scenes of Nami where Usopp and Luffy are just goofing around and bantering with each other. Hell, she's not even participating! She's just watching! And then the moment happens.

She laughs. She's free! This one small moment, this blink and you'll miss it scene. THAT, is pure and utter freedom. And to me, that's what One Piece is. It's freedom. Nami, for the first time in her life, is free.

This scene hit me hard, because immediately I thought to that scene with Usopp and Nojiko. Everyone behind the live action understood the core aspect and themes of One Piece. It's freedom. It's always been about freedom. That has never changed. And seeing freedom be portrayed as such a small and humane action such as LAUGHING, for all of a few seconds, really encompasses what this series is, not just to the characters, but the audience.

Luffy felt a bit down after his fight against Buggy. On their small boat, he couldn't stop thinking back to Shanks.

Buggy was wrong, Shanks didn't betray Luffy. Even if he left, Luffy wasn't mad at him for doing so. He had never been mad, just sad, knowing he would miss him.

He thought back of that day. The day he lost his arm. The day he left. His cursed goodbye gift. The day Shanks gave him another purpose.

To give him back his hat when he's strong enough.

Luffy doesn't do regrets.

But this one is tough to move on from. What if the same happens to his crew ?

You and Zoro have agreed to follow him. But he can't say the same for Nami. What if it's only a crew of three, without a navigator ?

What if you get badly hurt trying to protect him ? What if Zoro dies trying to accomplish his dream ?

Luffy can't stop but wonder.

Is he going to be a good captain ? After all, it's his first ever crew. He didn't want to lead you to your doom for the sake of his dream.

What if you and Zoro had made a mistake ? What if you were following the wrong person ?

Luffy was sitting on the small boat, thinking silently. For once he wasn't climbing and doing aerobatics everywhere. Which alarmed all of you.

"You should talk to him." Said Nami, turning to Zoro. "You're his first mate."

"I vote [Name]. He's his boyfriend." He responded.

They looked at you, expecting an answer, but you weren't listening, too focused on Luffy, silently trying to read his mind.

You suddenly stood up and sat next to him, under the watchful eyes of Zoro and Nami.

"What's on your mind, captain ?" You asked, patting his head.

He placed his hand on his hat, his fingers touching yours for a brief moment.

"I'm just thinking…"

"Mh."

"What if I wasn't made to lead a crew ?"

You stared at him, your hand pushing his hat behind his head so you could caress his hair.

"You're thinking about what Buggy said about Shanks ?"

"Yeah. He lost his arm because of me, y'know."

You hummed, nodding as your fingers dug into his scalp.

"I know. But I also know Buggy is wrong. Your crew won't leave you, Luffy."

Luffy looked at you, his soft eyes boring into yours.

"You're special. And I know you won't stand in the way of our dreams. You'll always support us no matter what and do what's necessary to help us. Even if it means putting your dream on hold. I know you'll fight for us. Even when we don't want you to. You'll do everything so we keep fighting for our dream, no matter what happens."

He blinked, still looking your way, listening intently to your words.

"You'll be a great captain. And you already are, I have no doubts. Even if it's your first week as a pirate. I'm sure Shanks would be proud of your accomplishments, and those to come."

A smile appeared on his face, a bit shy at first then more confident.

"You think so ?"

"No. I know."

He grinned, leaning slightly against your hand still in his hair and he quickly kissed your cheek.

"Thank you, [Name]."

"You're welcome, captain." You said, pecking his lips.

In the back Zoro and Nami smiled, happy to see Luffy was fine again.

"You'll always have me. And if we have to find the one piece with just the two of us, then so be it." You added, smiling as big as him. "But I agree, the more the merrier."

Luffy laughed, putting back his hat on his head and kissing your lips.

"Yeah."

I don’t have many Op friends I can talk about this with but one of my top ship tropes is when it’s established that Luffy is slow on the uptake regarding people’s relationships and even HE knows someone is in love and pining. Like, to make a point at how utterly obvious it is. Sanji cuts food for Usopp into little bite sized pieces? Luffy just asks him something that indicates Sanji and Usopp are in a relationship and the cook almost chokes. Nami tries to write a letter and is getting visibly frustrated at not finding the right words and he just looks over her shoulder like „Say Vivi I said hi!“. He witnessed Shank and Buggy finally meeting at laughtale and there is just a bunch of „I WOULD HAVE FOLLOWED YOU!“ „I never wanted you to leave!“ „YOU WERE A COWARD!“ „Why does that matter now?!“ „BECAUSE I ALMOST GAVE UP MY DREAM FOR YOU!“ and Luffy just looks at this insane display in front of him while his idol does a homoerotic sword vs dagger fight with a clown and just „Are you seeing this shit Zoro?“ like… congrats . You’re being such a lovesick idiot even Luffy is like „Damn bitch you got it bad“

Honestly, this is extremely in character and pretty much not far from the truth. Luffy, despite being a dumbass, is a very perceptive person when it comes to people's feelings. One of his best traits as a main character is that he's empathetic to the point of knowing how people feel or what they want without needing to know the background or the rest of the story. I actually hate when the fanon perception of Luffy gets simplified to "he's an idiot" because yeah, he might be reckless and stupid and he's very silly, but he's emotionally mature to a sickening extent. Savior complex much? (Not that he wants to be a hero, god forbid, he would hate that. I just mean that his constant need to save everyone so nobody he cares about dies on him or gets hurt again has made him really aware of his surroundings and people's feelings). And, well, tbh he has always been like that. Very honest and perceptive, I mean. He might be a bit slow when catching up to some things and he might not know why people feel what they feel sometimes, but he knows what they're feeling. Get me? Like he might be aware of Nami being mad at him, for example, and not knowing why, but being aware that he has to do something to change that.

What I want to say with all of this is that Luffy noticing romance within the crew is extremely canon because he knows how his friends act, and if he notices changes in a person towards someone else, he might be stupid but he's not that oblivious. Like, he knows something's up. And to him the whole concept of pining is so stupid because if you feel something, just let the other person know! But then again, his relationship with Zoro is just different from that, and not everyone can have a devoted long-term marriage without saying a word.

And his reaction towards people pining would be hilarious because the guy would be exhausted from the crew having crushes and not doing anything. A Sanuso trope I love is Luffy going to Usopp like "Hey, confess already because Sanji has been distracted lately, and if he stops cooking because he is sad and pining for you I will be very mad" and he says shit like this and goes away and leaves Usopp alone with that information as if it was the most obvious and normal thing to do. But, you know, Luffy gets things done around here, at least.

Breaking Up with Sanji (ANGST)

Sometimes you believe Sanji is just a womanizer. And you hate it because it’s actually not true.

You both have been dating for a year and you’ve noticed his simp like attitude for most women haven’t really let up.

You knew he would never touch a woman like how he touches you but sometimes when you want his full attention he can’t seem to focus it if another young woman is calling out his name

You didn’t mind it at first but it’s seems like it has gotten worse.

Granted you both never had time to have sex. It’s been back to back with fighting enemies and a bunch of new people joining on board momentarily.

But today was probably the last straw of his obsession with women

“He’s doing what?!”

“No! It’s not like that he got lured !”

“How the fuck do you get lured to a damn brothel, Franky?! He knows better!”

You stormed out of the ship disregarding your watch durty after hearing the unfortunate news. There is no possible way Sanji could be doing what you think he could.

“You messing with me right?”

Seeing Zoro and Sanji rush out of the worn building fixing up each other’s clothing. You really couldn’t believe your eyes if you were quite honest, your heart and stomach sank all at once. Sure, Sanji was a Flirt, and there were a few times early in your relationship you and Sanji talked about the boundaries you both set for when people hit on either of you, he swore up and down he’d work on doing so and you believed him, but you truly wouldn’t have guessed he’d ACTUALLY cheat on you.

Sanji’s hair was disheveled, tie was slightly undone, and he was flustered. It didn’t take too long to understand what happened.

Sanji However was mortified. He tried to get out of there as quick as he could, but he needed to be helped by Zoro and Luffy to escape.

“WAIT NO Y/N IT’S NOT WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE—!”

You scoffed at the typical statement turning the opposite way back to the ship. You were more broken than mad. You held your mouth to conceal your quivering lips trying not to cry in front of anybody and picked up your pace to run as far away from Sanji as you could.

“Dumbass. I told you she’d find out.” Zoro muttered shoulder bumping him.

“Y/N I DIDN’T DO ANYTHING!”

“Didnt do anything?!” You cried, stopping in your tracks almost causing Sanji to bump into you from how fast he was running towards you, “Sanji…”

You grabbed his cheek with force, squeezing it causing him to flinch, seeing the small lipstick kisses on his cheek so close to the corner of his lips. You immediately imagined him laying with how ever many women, touching, him and to add insult to injury; him enjoying it.

You looked up at the sky, forcing your tears not to escape, but you failed horribly and Sanji’s eyes widened in fear. You drop your hand down and walk away. You didn’t want to hear anything else he had to say because you’d just end up crying even more and that’s one thing you refused to do in front of him or anybody .

You felt so stupid, you knew you shouldn’t have let him in, you were warned by almost everyone to NOT date Sanji, but you seen past that. You didn’t wanna believe the warnings. How stupid could you be? Sanji? Faithful? Doesn’t even make sense unless you put “is not” in between the words.

“Damn it! I never—!” Sanji groaned in frustration running back after you, he knew he messed up BADLY. It wasn’t his intention to go into that brothel! He was actually tricked into going, Zoro warned him not to follow that lady that “needed help”, and the moment he realized where he really was he tried to leave, but women swarmed him trying to get him to stay. The whole story was too good to be true and he knew you wouldn’t buy it.

The moment you arrived back on the ship you felt your blood get hot. The entire walk back you thought about Sanji and those women and the longer your thoughts stayed on that the angrier you became. You had to get a level head though, as much as you wanted to lash out, You knew if you took any action you’d end up regretting it.

“Y/N? You okay?” Robin and Nami seen you nearly sprinting to your room, you didn’t want them to know about the incident so you avoided their gaze.

“I’m—“ you cleared your croaky throat to mask how much you’ve been crying “I’m okay….just need to—to um…”

Nami quickly walked over to you, you got very nasty when you cried. You kept shaking your hands trying to find the words, but the closer the girls approached you the harder it was to conceal any pain you felt. It wasn’t until Robin touched your shoulder that you broke down in their arms about what you seen. You felt so stupid.

Sanji came running back out of breath and he seen you across the ship being held by Robin, your eyes were pink and puffy from rubbing them so harshly out of anger. Nami turned her furious eyes over to the cook ready to kill the man so she stormed over to him.

“WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU SANJI?!”

Nami Tore Sanji a new one yelling and hitting him for the pain he caused you after hearing what happened. Honestly, Nami Just began to enjoy watching you and Sanji as a couple. She never thought you guys would last so long considering how he was, but she just started to believe he learned to behave.

You thought the same too.

Robin took you back to her room to calm you down and step away from the commotion, “Are you sure Sanji was really cheating?”

“I know what I saw Robin. He was coming out of the building, putting back on his jacket with lip stains.”

Robin patted your head, she refused to believe Sanji would ever hurt you like that especially from what he told her weeks prior:

“You shouldn’t worry, Sanji you already know what’s she’s going to say..”

“I don’t know…what if—“

“There’s no what if’s. I see the way she looks at you. How much you’ve changed her. She’ll say yes.”

“I CAN’T BELIEVE YOU, SANJI?! AFTER ALL YOU BOTH BEEN THROUGH? WAS Y/N NOT ENOUGH FOR YOU?!”

Sanji was on his knees taking every hit Nami had on his head, not even trying to defend hisself she was furious than anything else. She noticed how happier you were with him. How sweet he was to you, and even though she had her doubts she believed in what Robin said.

About 30 minutes past and Robin managed to get you to sleep off your tears. It was needed. She left you in the room to sleep and headed back out to where Sanji was in the kitchen and everybody was getting ready to head back on the not to set sail.

“Sanji…” Robin leaned on the kitchen door, his back was facing hers hunched over a little. She didn’t have to look at his face to know he was sulking. “What really happened back there?”

….

A few hours have pasted and you woke up to a warm presence beside you rubbing your arm, you cracked your eyes open to see Sanji’s blurred figure, but when you pounced up it was nobody.

“Good..” You thought rubbing your eyes. The room was dark hinting it was now later in the night and though you could argue that was the best sleep you’ve had in a while you wish someone would have woke you.

You make up Robin’s bed and head to your own room for the night, not wanting to see anybody else still a bit of anger lingering in your head, however this is the Thousand Sunny where 11 other people live. There is no alone time.

“Get out Sanji…” Was all you groaned rubbing your eyes, seeing him sparked back up that annoyance and seeing his pink eyes really meant nothing right now.

“No. I have to explain—“

“There’s nothing to explain. You wanted to be with those other women…and you did. I’m over it.”

“But thats not what I wanted it was a trick I would never do that! Baby—“

“Don’t ‘Baby’ me if I was your baby you wouldn’t have been in that fucking brothel.— You know what—…”

You wipe your face in frustration and sigh, the last thing you wanted was to just completely scream at him off bat, considering how he reacts to you doing it.

“I can’t keep doing this with you, Sanji. I know I’m not the ideal woman. I’m not as gorgeous as Nami or Robin. I’m not as girly as them. I don’t always dress the best. I have many flaws, but you don’t know the exhaustion I get when I see you give so many women this attention that I want. You don’t understand how it feels to have a partner that is very attractive and can also ATTRACT whatever he wants it’s damn near sickening now because I feel like it’s gotten worse with you and when I seen you with that lipstick I damn near lost my mind…”

Your voice began to crack and tears manages to slowly escape your eyes.

“I knew what I was getting into when you asked me out but I don’t know…sometimes I feel like…you settled…and…it sucks because I never felt that way with you…and..”

You couldn’t even finish. You just wanted to pour your heart out because you hated keeping in your feelings, but it was all too overwhelming and you just broke down. Sanji immediately grabbed you to hold you and in that moment he was whispering small apologizes and it did… it did feel good to be held by him,

But it was wrong. Because he does this same routine to apologize.

“I’m so sorry, Y/N…please…I made a mistake I’d never…” His lips right over yours as your face was in his neck leaning in closer, “Please know Id never hurt you..” His mouth began to inch closer to yours, but you pushed back harshly nearly making him fall.

“No! You don’t get to touch me! You always do that Sanji when I get upset with you and it just leads to me forgiving you again and us having sex I don’t want that! I’m tired! I’m tired of being hurt! IT’S THE SAME BULLSHIT ROUTINE WITH YOU AND THESE WOMEN SANJI—- DO YOU KNOW HOW I FELT BACK WHEN I FOUND OUT YOU WERE MARRYING THAT GIRL?! YOU NEVER EVEN ASKED ME IF I WAS OKAY WHEN YOU CAME BACK YOU JUST ASSUMED EVERYTHING WAS FINE AND DANDY?! I STILL THINK AND WONDER IF MAYBE YOU REALLY DID WANTED TO MARRY HER AND IT WASNT BECAUSE YOU WERE ‘FORCED’…”

“Y/N I DID IT TO PROTECT YOU! I WANT TO BE WITH YOU I ONLY THOUGHT OF YOU I’D NEVER EVER PURPOSELY TRIED TO HURT YOU EVER THEY WERE ALL MISTAKES! THEY WERE ALL SITUATIONS I COULDN’T GET OUT OF, BUT YOU NEED TO KNOW THAT IF I COULD CHANGE MY DECISION I WOULD AND YOU KNOW THIS!”

The arguing continued. Neither of you were willing to hear out the other without cutting each other’s sentences. This was probably the first argument you and Sanji ever had where he was actually upset and not willing to back down.

“WHY CAN’T YOU JUST LISTEN TO ME AND BELIEVE ME—“

“I DON’T HAVE TO BELIEVE SHIT SAN—you know…” you pull your faces with your palms groaning until it transitions into a frustrated scream, you were over it. You had a headache and just wanted to sleep. “Just get out Sanji. I don’t wanna hear your voice right now.”

If the room was quiet with no background noises of the sea you could have actually heart break. You didn’t change your face, you were exhausted, but a small part of you felt immediate guilt seeing his shocked and saddened reaction, but you were stubborn.

“….does this mean we’re through?”

You could hear the cracks in his voice, eyes already threatening to water, you immediately avoided his sorrowed face and paused for a moment leaving the awkward quiet tension in the air so thick you can cut it with a knife.

You nodded.

Sanji couldn’t contain his tears, they flooded his cheeks, mouth parted he fell to the ground on his knees reaching up to your leg to hold them. He couldn’t believe it he didn’t want this to be true.

“Please…please no please don’t leave me….I can’t lose you I’m so sorry. Please.” Sanji couldn’t even make coherent words he sobbed on your legs, it shattered you immensely.

Your hands hesitantly touch his head but retracted it and instead pull him off. “You have to get out, Sanji…”

“I’m not leaving until we talk this out—“

“Get the fuck out before I make you get out.”

Your voice was cold like ice sounding as if you didn’t want to be in his presence, but Sanji couldn’t be fooled that easily. You couldn’t even speak to his face, you were fighting back tears yoursef, lips quivering and words were shaky. It was your anger talking and you knew this, but you didn’t care to just look at him to listen, to hear him, to understand, and fix the relationship. Instead. You wanted to just run away.

Sanji got off his knees, head low like a puppy wiping his eyes, his body felt weighed down, he was defeated, but he didn’t want to take the loss.

“I’m not letting you go, Y/N…ever….so..don’t think—“

“JUST LEAVE SANJI!”

You back was faced to him right before he shut the door and in a quick motion you sat on your bed and screamed your heart out in a pillow. Sanji heard, chest in pain, he leaned on your door crying as well.

Words couldn’t express this pain, it was as if your entire life came crashing. This wasn’t supposed to happen between you both.

This wasn’t supposed to end.

One Piece Chapter 1102 - Initial Thoughts

And we have returned

Bonney's cathartic freedom is still undermined by the reality of hindsight, and before we end the year Oda intends to make sure we leave in sadness and mourning.

A Bonney-themed cover this time, eating hot dogs with some wolves

True to her word Bonney has set to sea to find her father, unleashing the Bonney Pirates onto any leads she can find

Typically, the government string up lies to vilify Bonney by saying she attacked villages of elderly and children

Kuma was indeed there, but to protect her and honor his arrangement he has to leave, surprised she became a pirate

Bonney's annoyed, but she is patient too, she also intends to find Nika as well, something to show off to him when they find him

This happens in parallel to Luffy getting his bounty, right after Arlong Park

Dragon decides to 'conveniently' head to Loguetown

Rare Smoker cameo, I miss that dude

Ace getting to show off in front of Jinbe, his brother did just beat his former subordinate after all

Kuma also seems to admire the irony of Luffy being a pirate given his parentage

Meanwhile, Bonney proves herself to still be a good person; only plunder from bad guys and only help people if they need it

The others also help her look older, giving her lipstick and the piercing so that Kuma would recognize her

Bonney also feels that if she becomes a big enough deal, she'll get her father's attention

Back with Kuma though the Pacifista are ready

It would be surreal to see a clone army of yourself in pods

This is around Enies Lobby time, as they mention that some 'rookies' declared war on the WG

Even Vegapunk didn't know about Dragon having a son, but since Vegapunk is gonna be going through Kuma's memories there's no point hiding it

Kuma has made the similarities between Luffy and Nika known too

Thriller Bark recap this time from Kuma's perspective

That Ursus Shock was still madness, I guess now we know how they all survived it though

And look at all this Nothing Happened about to happen

Even Kuma thinks this amount of pain could take him out, showing just how incredible a feat this was

Then we shift to Sabaody, Kuma's got his summons for the upcoming Paramount War

But Kuma is not at Sabaody for Luffy, he's come to get one last look at Bonney

A guy that size cannot sneak in a public place XD

But he's halted by another incident: the punching of a Celestial Dragon

'Who would dare do that?' I think you know bud

It's always good to see Charloss KO'd

And seeing that Luffy did it to protect a Fishman too compels him to make his move

The division is now shown through Kuma's monologue

Vegapunk is again strongly against such a plan, but Saturn continues to gaslight and try to justify their immeasurable cruelty

Means that Kuma has a ticking bomb in him, could that have any key information to where he's going in present?

Vegapunk wants to try and sneak in a way to maintain some of Kuma's personality in exchange, but Saturn shuts him down quickly

'Any attempts to deceive me will fail' - yeah about that one?

The time has come to erase Bartholomew Kuma though, and despite Vegapunk's objections, Kuma feels at ease for how much he fought for him

We bring in the command for Kuma to protect the Sunny

'I'd like to be a stubborn guardian for their home' man...

With Luffy's poster in hand, Kuma notes how moved and motivated he's become by Luffy, how much like the legend of Nika he's become

He believes he'll be king as well

Kuma removes his memories too, not a full on procedure it's like a copy, but one which'll dissipate on touch

Vegapunk however has devised a way to view it without touching though to study it

Kuma gets to watch his life unfold, wondering how many were harmed or troubled by his actions

Panel by panel Kuma sees his life, his parents, Ivankov, Ginny, Dragon, the fishermen, Bonney, Vegapunk, each time running through that field a little older

Tears stream down Vegapunk's eyes at the precipice of the lever

'Your life hasn't caused anyone harm or trouble, but your death will pain everyone who loves you' - fucking god Oda

And before he goes, as all of Egghead mourn the loss of a true saint, he leaves one last message for Bonney, heard in present when she takes the bubble

'Please wish her a happy 10th birthday'

Bartholomew Kuma did not deserve any of this.

BARTHOLOMEW KUMA DID NOT DESERVE A FUCKING DAMN THING OF THIS!

Typical for Oda to end the year on a wave of emotions. But it was a spectacularly heart-wrenching chapter, Kuma once again seen through a new lens which elevates him to a top tier character.

There's not much else to say, nothing else really to intuit except whether present-Kuma knows the bomb is in him, and maybe if Vegapunk managed to keep a small piece of his ego within him to act this way. I think we all just need to have a small cry or something.

We'll have a break now so we'll only see a chapter in January, but we can live with that, we do need to recover.

Bartholomew Kuma did not deserve any of this, but he loved, he sacrificed, and his legacy will live on.

ONE PIECE FILM RED: CONTAINS SPOILERS

Hi everybody! I'm excited to finally be able to talk about this movie. Originally I planned to post my thoughts in two weeks, but I couldnt hold back. I had went to see it on the 5th of November and honestly I did not expect I would be able to see it.

My country doesn't really do anime movies, so I usually wait till after the movies are out online to watch them and had originally thought I would have to wait till next year to see this one too, but luckily in October I had google searched upcoming films in my country and saw that One Piece Film Red was coming, so I quickly booked two tickets.

I wanted my friend to come along and she was excited. (she's currently in Whole Cake Island arc) but sadly she couldn't leave because she kept forgetting to plan properly and ask for a day off weeks prior so instead she asked like a few days before the show and her work place declined so I went alone.

I got my family to drive me to the capital city and they dumped me there almost 2 hours before the premier. So I wandered there like a sad sheep.

I was certain there won't be any cosplayers there, because Estonian people don't really like getting attention, but I did wear my Law hoodie.

I saw like two people with similar one piece merch and one brought a straw hat, while the rest were just dressed nicely.

The actual movie started at around 17:45

When Uta started signing it felt like I was at an actual concert! The effects, the dancing, the volume was great!

Uta and Luffy

Starting from this, previously I mentioned how I thought of them as just best friends with a chance of romance, but after the movie I wanted to go deeper.

I'm fine with them being either romantic or platonic, but you can't deny that they love each other. Love comes in different forms and some people think that deep love can only be between romantic partners, but no, you can love a person with you're whole heart and wish for their happiness without it being romantic.

Some people say Luffy wasn't acting in character, but I think Luffy was being Luffy. Uta was Luffy's first friend, rival and somebody who understood his dream, his real dream. With the way the flashback about the symbol on Uta's wrist was explained it seemed like Luffy had told her his dream and their dreams both were aimed to make the world happier. They seemed to be like co partners with their shared goal.

In Luffy's case I think his dream has something to do with freedom, equality and happiness, while Uta's was more towards fun, happiness and peace.

So their dreams came together and they had a deep understanding. I think Uta was also the catalyst to help Luffy realize his main dream and that is why he had such respect for her and just couldn't hurt her, because Uta was working towards a dream she believed would achieve her wish and she was willing to die for her goal like Luffy is.

It could be that Luffy also loved her as a crush or as somebody to admire, either works. It's not that far fetch for a kid to have a puppy crush even if it's Luffy.

Some get mad about the hat ripping, but again Luffy was in a dream world and knew it, I think he believed Uta would never actually rip the real hat and he was right, so he did get mad but he was more confused as to why Uta who loved Shanks so much would rip Shanks's precious hat even in a dream world.

The ending with Gear 5 I think came from Luffy's strong desire to save Uta. I think if Luffy was more experienced before Marinford he would have gone Gear 5 to save Ace too. But that's just a theory.

The ending between Luffy and Uta just made me want to cry, because when Uta placed the repaired hat back on Luffy you could see a tear fall down, because Luffy knew he wasn't able to keep Uta alive and that this was goodbye. (honestly I wish Uta would live, she was such an interesting character)

UTA

Uta was a complex character and I would love to see the movie a few more times to study her behavior, but this is so far what I understood.

First off Uta grew up on a Pirate Ship, BUT it doesn't seem that she saw too many bad things, most likely because the crew wanted to keep her innocents so they protected her from too much bloodshed.

Shanks wanted to give Uta an education in music, because she was talented and reaching her dream with them would have been impossible. As I see it he did plan to take Uta, after she didn't want to stay in Elegia, but because of ToT music he realized Uta wouldn't sing ever again if she found out she was the reason of so much death.

He trusted her safety and her dream to Gordon and decided to leave her there with her, hating them, even if it hurt them and her. (understandable but still dumb, she would have healed better if she stayed with people she loved)

Uta clearly has a big fear if death. Of blood. She wants people to be safe and I doubt Gordon alone quickly got rid of all the dead bodies on the island.

Uta grew up surrounded with dead bodies, blamed the death of the people on Shanks and herself because as Gordon put it she was used as a distraction to get access to the island.

Uta clearly was depressed and cut off from the outside world; she was isolated. Gordon was just one man, he did what he could but Uta's mental state was in shambles.

She held onto the memories of Luffy as a coping mechanism to live in hopes of one day seeing him again, because they shared the same dream and he was her first real friend.

When she found out the truth about the incident she blamed herself but at the time she had finally connected to the outside world for a year and the people relied on her and if she were to shut down again she would hurt them and she couldn't do that. So she rushed to think of a way to create a world they wanted.

She most likely had only started healing, really healing for a year before finding out the truth that broke her again and put her into a fragile state of mine, because not only did she have a body count, her father left her and her new adopted dad had lied to her for years.

Clearly she would start thinking she was something to be afraid of if her dad left her and Gordon kept her isolated and lied to her.

Also the fact that even if she knew the truth now it didn't delete the facts of the civilians who would tell her about what horrible things pirates have done, since pirates are in fact selfish.

She was clearly suicidal and thought of a way to create a world for everybody, but at the same time punish herself by killing herself in a "noble" way.

When Uta saw Luffy she was overjoyed and wanted him to stay, she even kept ignoring the pirate comment for so long until Luffy wanted to leave and she couldn't lose her friend again.

Her mental state kept snapping; you could practically see the strings snap with each of her expressions.

Eating that mushroom only worsened her emotional state.

Shanks appearing only made her even more unhinged, but at the same time saved her.

Uta honestly deserved a happier ending. But the whole story was indeed good.

Additional characters

Loved every single one of them. Law coming to the show because Bepo wanted to was hilarious especially when he turned little and Law had screamed "BEPO!?".

The whole theater was laughing.

Barto being there was also great, I love him so much! I'm not actually surprised he is a fan of Uta, but nothing can beat his love for the strawhats.

Coby and Helmeppo was the one that got me really excited. I loved to see them fight with the strawhats and how Coby was the tactician during the fight!

Brulee was fun to see too and the moment between her and Sanji was cute. I loved that.

Sunny being there was adorable and I kinda hoped Franky would carry Sunny around because Sunny is his baby.

The moment between Usopp and Yasopp was really great! I loved the insynch moment!

Last notes

I'm really hoping to see Uta in the manga with a sub role, because I loved her a lot.

When I saw the end of the movie I hoped that maybe Uta isn't dead but it's hard to think that when everybody saw her eyes becoming dull.

Also those who say there was too much singing. It's a musical. And me being a musical lover I can say right away it wasn't even that many songs, there are a bunch of musicals that pretty much have no dialog just singing.

The amount of fight scenes was nice too. No complains here.

The only thing I can complain about is that the pacing seemed off to me. Like the movie went too quickly. I think if Oda will make an actual arc involving Uta and maybe with a different ending or pacing than it would come out really well, because even though the movie covered everything it still felt kinda rushed.

Also yeah the strawhats had minor roles, but the main characters of this movie were Uta, Luffy and Shanks.

Before the movie I was actually pretty sad. I have seen a lot of tik toks or comments of people disliking the movie and I was so confused, because it seemed like such a fun movie. But I was lucky enough to see positive posts too and realize that most of the haters were those who.

1.Didn't understand that this was a musical. I legit saw so many argument of there being "too much music" its a musical people.

2.Thought Shanks would be like the main character but we all know this man will have an active role only at the end of one piece almost no canon stuff would be in the movie.

3. They didn't like Uta, because they didn't understand her mental state or just wanted the strawhats to be more active then her. Eh, thats fine as an opinion to have but that also shows that the main point of the movie wasnt understood.

4. Are Uta x Luffy haters so they hate her just because of that ship. Which is silly to hate a character just because of a ship.

Having you're own opinion is fine and dandy, but talking badly about the movie and just ruining the fun of other fans is a jerk move. If you have a negative opinion please make a valid argument with those who already seen the movie. And have a civilized discussion.

More OP Water 7 posting

First, I was sobbing at the crew finding out about the state of the Going Merry. Then Usopp, battered and broken, not knowing yet that his beloved ship was beyond repair, ashamed at having lost to a damn gang.

Then he finds out about the Going Merry and Luffy, in an attempt to distract him while giving the news, says it in the worst way (though I understand because I got to a point where I'd grimace a smile when I had to tell people about losing my brother, because it would throw them off and I could dip before they caught up and started saying how sorry they were) and he LEAVES THE CREW.

Fights Luffy who is so SAD but Nami can't recognize that gor whatever reason (honestly. It's not unusual for people to go silent when they're upset) and the BATTLE

I was in tears all mid-morning - early afternoon, making an apple pie and watching the arc. I'm so mad that I kept falling off at Skypeia. The story after is really engaging.

I seriously see One Piece as the Sims of anime for me. I go through obsessive bouts where I watch a ton at a time, then months (or in the past - years) where I will mean to watch it and just not get around to it. I should also not have tried to rewatch it from the beginning every time, then maybe I WOULDN'T have kept falling off at Skypiea

And quite honestly it was refreshing

Even though he likes being around Chopper and Usopp and be loud as heck, he likes spending time with you

You balance him out

And even though you’re not an adult, he’ll go to you for advice. This makes the rest of the crew confused (and low-key mad) because he doesn't want their advice

But most of the time he doesn’t take your advice anyways

I think that you two are close, seeing as he is endlessly extroverted and will break through your walls no matter how hard you try

Most of the time he leaves you to your own devices, but he will drag you to large parties and make you feel as welcome as possible

He does the same on the ship, but that was never a problem anyways because everyone likes you

Feels the need to protect you, not only because you’re a member of the crew, but also because you’re the youngest

10/10 I can see him giving you some of his food (only some)

Zoro

Ultimate big brother vibes

Likes to go to you for a quiet space because the ship can be loud

So he spends a lot of time with you… sleeping

He also half-asks questions to fill up the space and gets to know you pretty well

He also feels a need to protect you since he sees you as kinda weak (but almost everyone is weaker compared to him)

He will also feel the need to shield you from the craziness of the ship

Like sir, it’s nice that you care, but they can take care of themselves too you know?

Doesn't incorporate you into the crew since… he’s mostly sleeping. But he would try, and he would fail because they already like you

Cue him being shocked that he wasn’t your only friend on board, but to be fair he is sleeping most of the time and not watching you

He likes the calmness you bring to the ship, good for his meditation sessions (but I don't think you want to just sit there why he meditates)

I can see you having fun with him and Chopper, maybe play a board game

8/10 calm down sir, they can take care of themselves

Nami

She’s like the cool and fun older sister

She likes to dress you up in her old clothes, and then gush about how cute you look (no, not her super tiny bikinis)

She takes it onto herself to guide you through… whatever I guess

Also feels the need to protect you from dudes

I think that she gives good advice, but when combined with Robin the two of them give life-altering wisdom

You can go to her for anything from how to sew to how to manipulate people

Always gives you juice when the crew starts drinking

If the ship starts to get too rowdy she will shout at everyone to keep it down, and then turn to smile at you as if her actions were for you

She will share her tangerines with you

I think that she wants to protect you, but is frustrated at the fact that she can’t be as strong as the Monster trio (but everything works out in the end)

If you borrow money from her, she will reduce the interest (only by a little)

9/10 only downside is the interest (if you ever borrow money)

Usopp

He was high-key suspicious of you

To be fair he is suspicious of anyone and everything, and seeing as you were quiet he was on the edge

But after you saved his life, he gets all buddy-buddy (really Usopp? You got saved by a teenager)

I think the two of you would get to know each other when he’s working on a new invention, and you guys are having idle chatter

Now he tried to act like a cool older brother. Always ready to swoop in and talk about his “accomplishments”

He will do just about anything to make you laugh

I can see some crazy (but fun) times with him, Chopper, and Luffy

He would give bad advice, but occasionally he does have some piece of wisdom

He would try to protect you, but… yeah

He ends up feeling bad, and incompetent. But tell him that he was amazing or something and he’ll be fine

I think he would get frustrated when you beat him at a game of cards

10/10 he is just so fun to be around

Sanji

Also acts like an older brother

He tries to protect you from guys, saying that they’re all dogs (but then you point out that he’s a guy)

This also means he tries to limit your time around Zoro, saying that he’s a bad influence

Then the two start to fight and right as they pull you into it, Nami hits both of them and carries you off to eat or something

Gives you more food because you’re still growing

He is a surprisingly good listener and when he chimes in his advice are always good

And like all of the crew, he will try to protect you from danger (ma’am you are still a teen, why are you on this ship? Oh wait, Luffy…)

I said he acts like your older brother, but he also acts like a proud dad sometimes

Like sir, why are you crying? All they did was perform twinkle twinkle little star on the piano (Brook taught you)

He also tries to restrain his pervert tendencies around you, but when they inevitably happen he can’t look you in the eyes for several days (he also smokes more. It gets to a point where you have to confront him)

He also teaches you how to cook

8/10 he can get a little extra sometimes

Chopper

If things get too crazy on the ship, he likes to go to you

I feel like he would try to act like a big brother, but you would just pet him (sorry Chopper)

I can see Chopper trying to get you to socialize more with the crew. Just drags you out with his tiny Reindeer paws

I can see you confiding in him a lot because it’s kinda like venting to a stuffed animal (again, sorry Chopper)

He gives (almost) child-like advice, but it’s so simple and it always works

I think you would beat both him and Usopp at games, and then they would proceed to chase you around

He would try to protect you, but he also knows that you need to push yourself to get stronger, so he lets you fight some of your fights

When you end up hurt, he always makes sure to be extra vigilant with your care

I believe that you would also try to protect him, but his pride would end up hurt

I think you two would spend a lot of time in his office for a quiet place to read (and for him to do work)

He makes you help him organize stuff

10/10 a great duo

Robin

She is the kind older sister

She is such a good listener, and her advice would solve all of the world's problems

If things get crazy on the ship, you go to her. She has the presence of calm around her that just soothes you

I think she would also like to participate in dressing you up with Nami. That means you get to wear Nami’s old clothes and Robin’s old clothes

Robin always has an extra book and cup of tea reserved for you. Tea times are when you two like to ramble about anything and everything. This is also the place where you can vent and the both of you talk about your past

She would like to teach you about world history, while you listen and ask questions

She would try to teach you how to read one glyph, but if it’s too hard she stops (and low-key gets sad)

Robin also lets you help her garden. She enjoys having a person keep her company while she does the things that make her happy

She thinks that you are too adorable, and that also makes her go into a momma bear mode when she thinks you are in danger

She will yell at crew members, and she will annihilate the enemies

Robin sees you in a similar way to Chopper, so if you say something dirty or cuss, her image of you will be ruined

10/10 she is perfection

Franky

I see him as a weird uncle figure

He mostly hides in his workshop and creates weird but cool inventions while you watch him and ask what he is doing

I don’t see you two talking about important things, just you two having fun and making jokes

He is fun to watch, but when he tries to get you to participate— it’s even more fun

I can see Robin trying to shield you from him (hey, he says he’s a pervert)

He would share his cola with you (I can see some very fun crew bonding time when everyone gets cola and huddles around Franky’s new invention)

Franky is the opposite of shy, so sometimes it gets to be a bit too much

Like sir, please leave them alone for one second

I think that Franky and Usopp would try to teach you how to make things

And if you like to prank people… they’ve created a monster

Expect all three of you to get yelled at

8/10 pretty good, but he does say some stuff that you don’t get sometimes

Brook

Another weird uncle

When he asked to see your panties, both Robin and Nami slapped him so hard, he had flown off

He never asked again

I can see him joining in on the Robin history over tea, and add things in he knows from living during the period (dang he’s old)

He occasionally makes the tea you three drink

I think he would try to teach you how to use a sword, and then get yelled at so he teaches you to play instruments instead

He’s a surprisingly easy-going teacher, if you don’t practice he’s not mad. He just assumes you don't want to learn. That means he won’t teach you, which leads you to practice

He would let you peek inside of his skull and then jumpscare you. It works every time

Brook would tell you about what he did during the two-year time skip, all while you’re laughing at the fact they called him Satan

I think that being around you and Luffy would make him remember his days as a teen

Starts to get all weary like a dad (and just like Sanji)

7/10 rough start, but good ending

Jinbei

He is the dad (not like, is)

He is always concerned for your health, and whether you should be fighting or not

He told Luffy that it was ridiculous to bring a teen on board, but then he realized Luffy is only 19…

Jinbei is always there to make sure you feel included, and will often leave the crew’s festivities just to hang out with you

Honestly, his old man self likes the quiet you bring

If you ask him, he’ll tell you about Fishman history (also over Robin History Tea Times)

100% tries to protect you. I think that can make you frustrated at times, but he has saved you so you can’t be too mad

So he teaches you Fishman Karate (it gets Robin’s stamp of approval because there are no sharp objects)

Jinbei gives the best advice, again dad and old man

He’s able to see different perspectives and tell you the best course of action (that gets annoying when you just want him to take your side, but you have Nami and Robin for that)

Hiiii sweetie I love your Law writings so much! Oh this sounds like your others are bad, no I didn't mean to say that! I'm sure your others are good too, I just didn't read them yet because I'm Law obsessed lately. Anyways, could I request something? It's actually my first time to request something so I hope I did it right??? I'm sorry if I didn't. Coming back to the request, could you do something like Law x reader (preferably female but gn would be okay too though so everyone can relate!) being kinda close to each other and always teasing each other (she is a Strawhat member) and he is deeply in love with her but his heart breaks seeing her hugging a guy of her crew? Like he knows she's a cutiepie and loves hugging her friends but he just gets so jealous seeing her with Zoro or whoever and his mood changes and he distances himself from her, leaving her all confused because he thinks it's impossible for her to like him when it's so much more likely and also practical to date someone of her crew. But then she asks him about him being so weird and cold lately and he kind of let's everything out and confesses? I'm so sorry if this is too long or complicated, ignore it if that's the case! He hated it. There was nothing more that Law hated right now was seeing you draped over Zoro’s back while you watched something over his shoulder. He was stupid to think that you wouldn’t have a close relationship with them, of course you would. Law could only grit his teeth and endure it. It wasn’t like the two of you were in a relationship, he couldn’t tell you to stop.

Law actually could think of something he hated more. It was the fact that Zoro didn’t seem to mind, not in the slightest. It was like this was a daily occurrence for him and it was something he was used to. Part of him wanted to see the marimo push you off and act annoyed. But something told him that even then, you wouldn’t care and would simply do it again.

“Hey Law! Come look at what Usopp made-!” you slid off of Zoro’s back and turned around with a smile, hoping to see the other swordsman you had seen just a moment ago. Your sweet smile turned into a frown, then a pout when you realized he wasn’t there anymore. ‘Where did he go?’ You thought to yourself as you looked around the deck.

You knew that the other captain was a bit more reclusive than you’d like since you enjoyed being around him and it never seemed like he wanted to be around the rest of the crew-probably because most of the crew was so boisturious and loud and Law was, well...the opposite of boisturious and loud.

It didn’t take you long to find him. “You left us!” you say to him, playfully feigning like you were upset as you crossed your arms. “How rude!”

“And for a reason.” he simply responded back, not even looking at you while he did.

“Sorry, were we being too loud?” you chuckled and smiled. “You’re gonna have to get used to that on this ship while you’re here with us.”

Am I going to have to get used to seeing you all over your crew as well? Law kept his thoughts to himself while he opted not to give you another response.

“Um...I’ll just…” you pointed back to Zoro and the others, leaving him to be by himself since that’s what you thought he wanted. It was the opposite. He wanted to be around you, but he just couldn’t stand seeing you so close to them as well. As much as he wished that was him, he’d never say it aloud.

It was something that you had been noticing the past few days. The two of you got along great when you were on Punk Hazard together, so what was different now? You felt more comfortable since you were on your own ship and maybe that was it. There weren't any battles happening and everyone was quite lax...so shouldn’t it be the opposite? Shouldn’t he be more relaxed now that he knew he was safe? Or was that even it? You weren’t sure.

It took you a few days to finally approach him about it. You noticed that every time you he was around you and then when you went over to your crew mates, he’d be gone before you even turned back around.

The crew was inside eating and Law had finished first, opting to go outside in the quiet after he was done. You soon followed after you were done and left the loud dining room to find him. It wasn’t difficult since there was only a limited area outside on the deck.

“Don’t like how loud it is in there?” you chuckled as you walked up to the railing next to him. “I’m not sure how long you’ll stay with us, but you get used to it, you actually tend to enjoy it after a while and when it’s quiet, you feel a little weird.”

“I don’t think I’ll be getting used to Mugiwara-ya anytime soon and I don’t know how you deal with…” Luffy’s loud shriek was heard in the distance and Law’s face scrunched up, “that.”

You only laugh at the other captain, “I take it your crew isn’t like this then?”

He rolled his eyes and almost cringed at the thought. “No. They are. I just choose to ignore it most of the time.”

“And does that work?”

He answered almost immediately, “Never.”

You laughed again and Law felt like his breath almost caught in his throat. It was something he would be able to listen to over and over again and never get sick of-unlike your captain.

“I wanted to ask you something too…” your fingers tapped the railing and traced the design of the wood. “Are you okay? Or did I do something wrong? I thought we were getting along really well and lately it feels like you’ve been more distant for some reason. I just...I like talking to you and I thought you did too. We’ll be in the middle of a conversation and I’ll turn to talk to someone and then when I turn back to talk to you again, you’re gone. But maybe I just misinterpreted it and you didn’t want to talk to me in the first place.” you let out an almost pitiful sounding laugh, along with a sad smile.

Fuck...That wasn’t the reason in the slightest and he hated that he made you think that it was your fault he was just a little jealous of your crew mates that you live with.

“No.. that’s not it…” he sighed to himself, feeling guilty that he had made you feel that way. He was fighting with himself internally. Do I say something to them or not? He knew that there wouldn’t be much of a relationship since the two of you were on separate crews. Pair that with the fact that he doesn’t even know if he’ll survive this attack on Doflamingo.

Law wouldn’t want to get your hopes up about anything if you felt the same way about him. At the same time, this could possibly be one of his only chances to tell you how he felt. All he could think about was embarrassing himself. From the first time he saw you on Sabaody, he knew that there was something about you because of the way you never left his mind since then.

It was a stroke of luck that you managed to see him again on Punk Hazard. Since you were relatively new to the crew at that time, you still hadn’t bonded with anyone in particular so he never saw you acting like you do now with them.

You raised your brow in an attempt to get him to continue with what he was trying to say. “Then what is it?” you ask him slowly. “If you don’t want to say anything, that’s fine I guess. As long as I’m not doing anything to make you mad or hate me.”

“I’m not mad at you. I don’t hate you either.” he paused for a moment, gritting his teeth together. Law couldn’t believe that he was even doing this to himself. “Quite the opposite actually…”

Your brow raised again in slight confusion. “Oh?” you hesitated, the thought registering in your head about what he meant. You knew he wasn’t exactly the person who would let his feelings gush out. A small smile slipped out and you tried your best not to smirk.. “Ooh~ I see.” you drug your words out slowly.

As Law went to open his mouth, whether to object to what you were saying-even though he wasn’t-or let you know that you were right, he didn’t get to say anything before your Captain burst onto the deck.

“Y/N-chaaan!!! Come play with us!!” and you couldn’t even object or tell Luffy that you would be there in a minute when a long arm stretched out to grab you. It wrapped around your waist and you before it was able to yank you away from Law, you grabbed the collar of his shirt and planted your lips firmly on his.

“I’m glad you don’t hate me~” you grin as you pull away, not because you want to but because you’re being forced away by Luffy.

Law could feel his cheeks heat up from the sudden kiss and all he wanted to do was grab his hat and pull it over his face. But then he would’ve missed seeing your smile as you notice just how flustered you made him. He wouldn’t mind being a little embarrassed if he gets to see your smile every time.

Best One Piece Yanderes

Donquixote Doflamingo

The man screams yandere in the show and he screams yandere in the fanon too. Literally a manipulative, isolating and eliminating yandere all in one. Would take his s/o and lock them up, make them only rely on him (because he’s so godly), and if that doesn’t work he has no problem killing them so no one else can have them.

If s/o was feeling miserable or crying he would coo at them and offer them whatever they desired (just not freedom of course~). Best clothes, finest jewelry, you name it he gets it. Would also put them in his lap and snicker at how they are being a crybaby.

Would only allow the family to see s/o; but if s/o gets too much attention or might have an attitude be prepared for isolation, even from him. The guy would leave you in a room for a week until he decides you are worthy enough to see him.

Would probably end up giving s/o Stockholm Syndrome and wouldn’t feel an ounce of guilt

10/10 for like hitting all the yandere marks, but honestly s/o might not mentally (or physically) survive

Trafalgar D. Water Law

My boy! Doffy said it himself, there is some of him in Law, and that also goes with yandere tendencies! Law would definitely be a manipulative and isolated type of yandere. Boy is so stressed he just wants to protect his s/o from everything. But he also still has to act tough and play the pirate part, so be prepared for threats about being sliced in half if you think about leaving.

He’s probably the chillest in terms of letting s/o do their own thing/hobbies unless it involves them getting hurt, then forget it, find a new hobby.

If s/o was sad/crying/upset he wouldn’t know what to do, but just stares at them. Part of him blames himself which leads to him not wanting to comfort them because who would want him? And the other half is angry at s/o or the individual for allowing the person to make s/o that upset. So definitely a quiet watcher as s/o lets the emotions out, afterwards he might ask if you want to talk about it, depending on the situation.

The crew can hang out with s/o since Law isn’t a huge jealous type, but don’t expect the Straw Hat gang to be chummy with them, they are his, get your own.

9/10 cause boy needs to calm down and take some melatonin

Bartolomeo

We all see how he obsesses over the Straw Hat gang (especially Luffy); boy would lose his mind over a s/o. The submissive type yandere, one who gives all his love and honestly doesn’t expect much back. Probably would just stalk his s/o and make sure they always get home safe and maybe sometimes will leave them small gifts at their door.

Would literally break down if he saw s/o crying or upset and would ruin his stalking just to run out and comfort them (which might confuse/weird out s/o-)

Knows everything about s/o, from favorite food to that one time in grade school where s/o got pantsed.

8/10 for caring, but doesn’t initiate unless really needing to. Really just wants s/o to live their best life (while he watches from afar).

Boa Hancock

If Doffy is King of Yanderes in One Piece, Hancock is the Queen. She’s definitely another submissive type yandere who will follow whatever s/o tells her to do.

“Hancock, you need to pay attention to the meeting.”

“Yes s/o-sama~!! Kyaa~!!”

She’s also the delusional type of yandere so sometimes s/o has to remind her, they are indeed not dating/married.

If s/o were to get upset/sad/cry Hancock will definitely be the type to ask “who did it?”, whether it’s from her own trauma growing up or just not wanting to see her s/o so upset she doesn’t know, either way whatever happened she is going to change it!

10/10 for yandere tendencies and honestly who wouldn’t want to have her as their yandere lover.

Baby 5

Baby 5 just wants people to accept and love her (honestly same). So when s/o was kind to her and thanked her, she couldn’t look away. Were they meant to be? Are the stars in line?

Definitely a submissive yandere; I wouldn’t put her as fully delusional like Hancock, but she can get up there at times!

She tries to act tough and not wanting s/o’s attention, but God when she gets it the girl is gone. Will literally get beet red when s/o compliments her on something random/small, lord be with her when it’s something big.

Would remember every anniversary and special day of s/o’s and wouldn’t even get mad if s/o happens to forget or says they are too busy for a big event she planned. As long as s/o continues to want her, she’s happy!

She would be in the mixture of Hancock and Bartolomeo on seeing her s/o distraught. She doesn’t know if she should comfort them, cry with them, solve the problem or do all three.

9/10 but baby needs to learn to love herself :(

ONE PIECE! Deep talk, No. 2

a/n: Annyeonghaseyo! (*says that in a poorly done imitation of the voice of Jackson Wang XXD). How are you doing guys! How´s life? Are you happy? Are you sad? Y´all families doing good? I hope that each and every one of you s doing great and gets to experience happy days.

My dear readers and followers, I think I don´t deserve. I decided to work on my “ONE PIECE! Deep talk” and give you a no. 2. Like mentioned before if there is anything you want me to talk about just tell me and I will do my best. No matter if it´s about a character, a scene, an episode, the way the story developed etc. Just give me an input and I will see if there is anything my over thinking brain has to say. Other than that, happy reading!

· In the following I would like to talk about a character I instantly fell in love with as a child. I always thought that he was really cool and super strong in many ways. But next to that I also saw that character as someone really funny and super hilarious for many ways.

· The character I am referring to is Roronoa Zoro aka. “Pirate Hunter” (aka. “The vice captain of the strawhats” since Bartolomeo likes to call him that XD)

· There are some things about Zoro that caught my eye as an adult One Piece watcher and made me like him even more.

· I always saw Zoro as an amazingly well done character by Oda and never actually found any flaws until I realized that some characteristic traits (?) and or habits he has are his flaws, if one thinks about it for some time. But this is not what I want to talk about this time. I will leave it for some other time.

· This time I would like to talk about his loyalty to Luffy.

· Yeah, I know! I know that all of the Strawhats are loyal to him but still it´s a specific something that makes him even more loyal to Luffy in my eyes.

· Starting from his trust in him. Zoro blindly follows his orders without even thinking twice about the after. He runs head first into every situation with him no matter the circumstances.

· Man wanted to fight Kaido with just his crew and the heart pirates and he just went along with it stating that if his captain wanted to fight a yonko he will surly follow him

· In here I would like to mention one specific thing that really made me clap and say “Mans damn right!”. I even would have gave him a standing ovation if it only wasn´t 2 in the morning.

· Remember the “Water 7 Arc”. In which the strawhats had to get a new ship because the going merry was not in the shape to be used anymore but Usopp was against it what was the beginning of a huge drama. Remember that?

· I sadly don´t remember the whole thing anymore but it came that they wanted to leave and take Usopp with them who actually left the crew because of the disagreement he had with Luffy. Luffy was ready to go and get him but Zoro did not let him go. In fact he even said that he would leave the crew if their captain went to get Usopp back just like that.

· I was so impressed by his action and his words. I really couldn´t believe what was happening there.

· He couldn´t accept the fact that Usopp could go against the word of their captain Luffy. Their captain who wanted to become the pirate king and cross the grand line. He did not accept the fact that Luffy didn´t dare do anything about Usopps behavior and resistance.

· Zoro saying that being in a pirate crew is all about trust and loyalty towards the crew mates but most of all the captain. He stated that he dared to go against Luffys orders now and surely will do so in the future too if he does not show him the consequences of his actions. In my opinion Usopps actions were purely out of emotional events in his live, which why I cana absolutely understand Zoros state of mind.

· There were on their way to find the laughtale and live the life of pirates. Pirates that are hated and feared by the world, its people and most of all the government. They weren´t playing pirate like he used to back in his hometown. I really like Usopp because he is a funny and also relatable character but in this arc he made me really mad over his actions.

· Now back to Zoro.

· His words and his state of mind in the episode of 325 (I guess) showed how much he values loyalty.

· He was strictly against Luffy taking him back before he apologized properly to him. Him, Luffy who was his Captain, the man that allowed him to sail with him and his friends he trusted and cared for.

· Another moment that showed his loyalty to his captain was his solo fight with Kuma

· Kuma was sent to come back to the government with the head of Luffy. During the fight between the strawhats Kuma said that the only thing that would make him stop hurting the pirates and the civilians of the Thriller Bark was the strawhats handing him Luffy so he could bring the higher ups his head. Zoro thus got on his knees and offered him his live in exchange of Luffys. Sanji in that moment also made a move but at the end it was Zoro who made a deal with Kuma. He took all of Luffys pain and threw away his live and determination to become the worlds best swordman just so he could become the pirate king.

· “If I can´t even protect my captains dreams then whatever ambition I have is nothing but talk.”

· Maybe it was his position of the first mate that made him go that far but I personally think that it was the fact that he simply cherishes loyalty and of course Luffy a lot.

· Sticking to that I also want to talk about his decision to keep the deal he had with Kuma to himself and not tell others or let anyone know why Luffy was feeling so healthy and good after a tough fight with the pacifista.

· It kinda made me think that his action and the decision he made were a matter of course to him. It kind of made me think that it was something natural to do. To sacrifice his life for his captains. He didn´t wanted any of his crew mates to know what he did because he saw it as a part of his job and duty when he decided to join Luffy on his journey.

· And that was what made me truly fall in love with him. He might not show many emotions or sometimes even any at all but he truly and always cares for his crew.

· Oh and there is something else I would like to drop. For those who watched the movie Gold probably would know or remember that. But the scene in which Tesoro came seeing Zoro telling him that he will die and his crew will never be able to get the amount of money he asked for in exchange for his live. Remember what Zoro said! His words made me so damn proud! He said something like

· “If I don’t believe in them there is nothing to believe in.”

· Anyways, that’s it for know I guess.

a/n: hi hi!! here you go! OMG angst is still really hard LOL I don’t want to think about their rough life 😔😔😔😔😔 ANYWHOOOOO thank you for requesting and I hope you enjoy<3

A-Accident (would they blame themselves if you died in an accident?)

Ace would definitely blame himself. He’s always thought he was a no-good demon child, son of a criminal that didn’t deserve to be alive (despite finding people that truly cared and loved him). You dying in an accident and him not being able to do anything about it would just reinforce what he already thinks of himself.

Regardless of your cause of death he is likely to attribute it to your association with himself, and because of that he will think it is entirely his fault, even if he wasn’t present at the time of your death.

B-Break up (How would they break up with you?)

His lessons with Makino really helped him develop manners and just a general sense of acceptable behaviour. So, Ace would just be clear and up front, no mixed messages, no miscommunication. He would take you some place quiet and away from others, and then he would be as honest and vulnerable as possible – it’s the least you deserve. The break-up would be very civil, you would definitely end on good terms (doesn’t make it any less sad though).

C-Crying (how would they make you cry?)

Sometimes Ace can take his teasing a little too far. Usually you can handle it, but there are just some days where his words cut deeper than ever intended (even if they have no malice behind them). It’s not his fault you’re having a bad day, or not realizing you are having a bad day. It’s just one of those things that happens sometimes. As soon as you start to cry though, he apologizes and reassures you so much, to make sure you known he doesn’t mean it and he’s only playing around.

D-Death (how would they react to your death?)

It would start out with a lot of confusion, like “what t-that must be some kind of a sick joke. H-how… w-what… they wouldn’t just die like that.” After it really sinks in that you have in fact died, Ace will just get angry. I don’t see him as much of a crier (spoiler alert – we only see him truly allow himself to cry on two occasions 1) when luffy got crazy hurt as a child and 2) when ace was on deaths door), so I believe he would react with anger.

Regardless of your cause of death (natural causes, accident, died in battle etc.) Ace would be unbelievably angry with himself, the world and you. He would be angry at himself for being unable to save you, someone he cares about and loves deeply. He would be angry at the world and whatever higher being there may be for choosing now to be your time. There are so many horrible, horrible people in the world, yet you had to die? It makes no sense. Lastly, he would be angry at you. Not a genuine anger but more so a “how could you just leave me like this? We were meant to be together forever.”

E-Emotion (what is one emotion they would try to hide the most and how would they do it?)

I think Ace tends to try his sadness. He tries to put on a brave face, not wanting anyone to see him cry as he doesn’t want to be viewed as weak or be even more of a burden on others.

F-Fight (how often do you fight? What do you fight about? Do you fight often? Etc.)

Fights with Ace, although they don’t happen often, can quickly get out of hand. He’s stubborn and his inability to accept that he’s not always right can cause a minor disagreement to escalate into an all-out fight. On a few occasions you have argued about him never turning his back on an opponent.

Your fights tend to be followed by cooldown time. Things can get quite heated (no pun intended) so you need some alone time and space to breathe. After that though, you comeback together and apologize.

G-Guilt (what is the biggest thing they feel guilty about?)

For his entire life, Ace has lived with the guilt of simply existing. He doesn’t think himself worthy of being alive. Can you blame him? It’s all anyone ever told him growing up. Despite eventually finding people who loved him for him, those feelings of inadequacy and worthlessness still remain and continue to plague his mind.

H-Heartbreak (what would cause them pain in the relationship? How would they deal during a break-up?)

During a break-up Ace is quiet. He doesn’t want to be around anyone or anything. He wants to be left completely alone so he can sort out his thoughts and feelings. He’d be quite devasted because he’s had so few people in his life love him on as deep a level as you did.

I-Injured (how would they react if you are badly injured?)

Ace would absolutely lose it if you were injured. He’d be concerned, upset, and angry all at once. First things first, he needs to know if you are going to be ok. Once that’s been established, he’ll be upset at himself for allowing this to happen. This will be replaced by the pure anger he feels at whoever, or whatever, caused this.

J-Jealousy (what do they do if they are jealous?)

When he gets jealous he turns into such a man child. He’s pouting and moping around while mumbling to himself. He develops quite a petty attitude. If you were to ask him “want to go get something to eat?” he’d respond with “why don’t you just go and ask ____ for some food.” But, as soon as you begin commenting on how jealous he’s acting he’s going to deny it to the end of his days.

K-Kill (would they kill for revenge?)

Ace literally hunted down Blackbeard so he could get revenge on him for killing Thatch. It’s not certain whether or not Ace had the intention of killing Blackbeard, however, he definitely had both the spirit and anger to go through with killing him. So, it is possible that Ace would kill for revenge. However, for the most part, he would prefer to just beat them senseless.

L-Loss (what is their greatest loss?)

Either Sabo or his mother’s death, would be considered Ace’s greatest loss. His mother died when he was a new-born, so he doesn’t particularly remember, or know, anything about her other than the fact that she was a kind wonderful woman. However, the loss of Sabo is something he remembers vividly. Losing Sabo had a major impact on Ace. It was an unfortunate wake up call as to how awful the world truly is.

M-Mistake (what is the worst mistake they ever made with you?)

One night, after a particularly bad day filled with a horrible series of events, Ace was letting off some steam (quite literally I suppose). Messing with his devil fruit power, throwing some flames around. He hadn’t noticed your presence and so his flames nearly burnt you. He was horrified, and he only felt worse after he noticed the pure terror in your eyes.

N-Nightmares (how often do they have them? What are they about? How do they deal with it?

Ace has nightmares frequently, they vary, but they all have the same underlying theme, that is, the people in his life don’t actually care about him and only view him the same way everyone else views the son of the pirate kind – a worthless devil with no right to life. He wakes up from his dreams in a sweat and finds himself in desperate need of fresh air (ya know to try and clear his mind). He ends up just sitting out on the deck of the Moby Dick looking up at the sky trying to tell himself it was all a dream. But his insecurity and self-doubt begin to resurface and soon he can’t discern imagination from reality. However, the moment someone else on the crew even speaks to Ace with something as simple as a “morning dude” he’s brought back down to earth and thinks to himself “no that’s right…. They love me… I wouldn’t be here right now if they didn’t.”

It’s a vicious cycle, but in the end, he manages to remember (even if it’s just for a little bit) that he is cherished.

O-Outrage (how and why would they get mad at you?)

When you continuously tell him there’s no need to stay and fight every single opponent. It’s okay to turn and runaway – in fact it’s safer to do that. When you say that he feels as though you don’t understand him. He’s not some careless, impulsive child who’s just looking for a fight (okay maybe he is a little bit). So he doesn’t really get super angry, it’s more so that he is frustrated and a little upset that you don’t try to see it from his perspective.

P-Past (what has happened in your relationship that changed the way you saw each other?)

It’s the same as the worst mistake he’s ever made with you – nearly burning you with his devil fruit. It made you realize that Ace can actually be quite dangerous (although you know he would NEVER hurt you intentionally). It made Ace realize that he needs to be more careful, the look of pure terror in your eyes has stayed with him ever since that incident, serving as a reminder.

Q-Quality (what is their most dangerous/toxic quality?)

His tendency to not back down from a fight is simultaneously his most endearing and toxic trait. He constantly places himself in dangerous situations with minimal concern for his own safety.

R-Rejection (how would they react to you rejecting their confession (or the other way around))

Having his confession rejected by you was definitely a blow to his self-esteem, but he respected and accepted your feelings. Instead of moping around about it he decides to laugh it off, trying to make light of a slightly disappointing situation.

S-Scars (battle or self-inflicted)

Ace does not have any scars, battle related or self-inflicted.

TW self-harm: I do think ace got worryingly close to self-harming, but Sabo and Luffy made him rethink it all.

T-Trust (have they ever broken your trust?)

The one and only time Ace broke your trust was after Blackbeards betrayal. You made him promise to take you with him when he left to hunt down Blackbeard because you didn’t want him to go alone. He promised but he had no intention of keeping that promise.

U-Urge (how badly do they want to see you after you guys separated?)

For a while Ace manages to get by by keeping himself preoccupied. But as soon as he lets up for even a minute, he realizes how much he misses you and is beyond tempted to just sail on back to wherever you are and tackle you to the ground plastering your face in lil kisses. When he’s not distracted, he really does miss you a lot. He hyper-fixates on what you could be doing at this very moment, whether or not you miss him too etc.

V-Vicious (what do they do when they lash out on you?)

When ace gets mad, he tends to get very loud. He raises his voice quite a lot and it becomes very, very frightening. He would never physically hurt you, but the anger and frustration in his voice is more than another to scare the shit out of you.

W-Weak (what makes them feel weak how do they try to avoid it?)

Constantly being reminded or associated with the Pirate King. Maybe it doesn’t make him feel weak, but it makes him feel horrible inside and stirs up a lot of feelings and remarks people would make when he was younger. Unfortunately, once word gets out there isn’t much Ace can do to stop this from happening, however, before this, Ace avoided this by not telling ANYONE. He only told Luffy and Sabo, with a very small handful of others knowing (i.e Garp).

X-X-ray (what do they hate and show it most obviously?)

He hates turning his back on a fight or turning his back on people that talk shit about those he cares about. This is seen during the Marineford arc. He doesn’t let Akainus words about Whitebeard slide. He doesn’t runaway. He has no tolerance for that shit.

Y-Yearn (what is one thing that they want but can’t have?)

Ok this may be dark as hell but, Ace just wants to not feel like a burden to the world. He wants to be viewed as something different/separate from his father, but he can’t change history.

Z-Zero (what do they do/say in your dying moments?)

He doesn’t let you go. He’ll hold on to you until he is forcefully separated from your body. He just starts to spout a lot of nonsense – things don’t make sense at all, but he can’t help it right now. He can’t think properly when you’re about to leave him. He just wants you to stay.

ONE PIECE HCs: Jealousy Headcanons

This has been done over and over and over and oveeeer again, but here *pushes hcs towards everyone* please have them!! Also, I missed writing stuff huhu. I tried my best so I hope you like them!!

Monkey D. Luffy

Pre-TS Luffy would be jealous whenever he noticed that you're paying more attention to something/somebody else. He'd jump right into your bubble and do stupid stuff so that he could be the most interesting person in your life again. Like a little kid, his jealousy is harmless. He'd be upset for a while, but once you’ve you given him what he wanted, he'd be smiling again and would leave you in peace. Lucky for you, Pre-TS Luffy is pure and easily distracted so you probably could handle him quite easily. This is mostly cute, but probably could get real annoying especially because you’re not allowed to pull the exact same shit on him. He’d be annoyed lol. Pre-TS Luffy is a child, definitely not yet mentally and emotionally ready for a relationship.

Post-TS Luffy is a whole level different. Even though he's still our bhabie, he matured and has calmed down. He won't be jealous over something like you talking to somebody else, or you reading a book (than watching him run around) anymore. He probably wouldn't be even feel threatened when you get close to other guys. He just have so much trust on you that you cheating on him wouldn’t cross his mind. But, of course, he has his limits. You're his. You swore, you promised to be only his so when other people start getting a little bit too touchy and you’re allowing it, he would snatch you away and he’d make sure that the fact that you're his s/o is known. There would be arguments, but he wouldn't be upset for that long. If you tried to make him jealous, you can just apologize and he'd accept it but wouldn't get why you'd want him to get jealous.

Roronoa Zoro

Despite being known to be straightforward, Jealous!Zoro is probably going to be the one to give you the cold shoulder/silent treatment mostly because he tends to bottle up stupid feelings like these. He'd try to be chill about it, but seeing you way too friendly with swirly brows (or someone he doesn’t like) will get him worked up but since he doesn't to appear like a pathetic loser in front his you and the others, he'd be like 'meh i'm cool yo'. BUT NO, HE'S NOT. He wouldn't be able to completely hide the feelings of scorn and envy. No matter how hard he tries to hide it, his irritation will bleed through his exterior in the form of spicy words, sarcasm and silence that would initiate arguments. Since he's already frustrated, things would heat up right away and the whole thing would just explode into a full blown fight whether it's in a form of verbal exchange or uncomfortable silence.

Making up is casual? It's weird because no one needs to apologize. Zoro would just walk up to you and start a conversation, and he'd know that you guys are okay if you properly replied to him, and vice versa. It's usually Zoro who'd break the ice first, regardless of the who was in the wrong, but just know that it wouldn't be anything like "I'm sorry about earlier," but be more like "Do we have still have sake around?". It's not like he'd never apologize verbally, though. He just saves it for things that are actually meant apologizing for (petty, childish fights don't qualify).

Yellow ranger Vinsmoke Sanji

Okay. So, we can all agree that this one would be the most jealous out of these four, yes? Sanji's basically like Pre-TS Luffy but a tad more reasonable. He wouldn't get mad if you indulge in your hobby more than you spend time with him, but he would get upset if you talked too much or acted too friendly with other men. Unlike the marimo, he'd be open about his feelings. He'd rush to your side right away, take you away and let the other guy know that you're taken by him. He'd be very clingy to you and would be showy as well. Definitely, he's not embarrassed to hold you in public and he's also not afraid to do more than shoot daggers at people who looks at you funny (sometimes it's just Sanji's imagination really). Most of the time, he'd be angry at those people but when it comes to you, he'd just be sad and disappointed at most, which only ever happens if he figured out you made him jealous on purpose ...or not, if you're the 'polite' type who flirts back unknowingly or something like that idk. He'd never treat you the way he treats those garbage trying to get your attention like ever.

If a fight broke out between the two of you, Sanji would always be the one to apologize first, usually accompanied with gifts like flowers and jewelry. He'd make up to you even though he's not at fault. You're the most important person in his life and he'd be willing to swallow his every ounce of pride for you. Sanji definitely is that one friend of ours who we give advise about his toxic love life but doesn't ever listen or that one friend who gets back with his ex after a pathetic apology lol. He's just like that so please take care of this baby.

Usopp

Usopp probably thinks he's no good for you. I feel like he's filled with insecurities which he hides beneath his jolly exterior; these insecurities blind him from seeing his worth causing him to feel undeserving of you. Usopp is strong; he's got his own game and he plays it real good, unfortunately butterflies don't see their own wings. Like any other man, he'd get jealous if he sees you being questionably chummy with some other guy who he views as a much better fit for you. He'd actually be really sensitive about it, and the one who's prone to overthink. He won't get upset, but he'd get really sad. He'd laugh it off, shrug it off but it's not like it's your fault if you find someone else interesting right? Despite being known as a liar, I don't think he'd be able to hide his feelings from you completely, but he wouldn't voice them out either. However, you'd easily see through him. You'd have to be the one to bring this up because Usopp would never do it. I mean he probably would try but he'd be like "You know this guy you were talking to... uhh well, umm nevermind haha," and yeet himself out of that awkward situation. But even when you confront him, he'd initially play it cool but you know that it's not okay- he's not okay.

He wouldn't argue with you about this matter even if you try to lure him into one. He'd probably be irritated if you continued to push this topic, but sometimes insisting to talk about it might be the best choice even if it hurt the both of you. After all, Usopp can't always run away from his feelings and insecurities. He'd want to apologize first, but there would be moments where you both do it at the same time and it's just the cutest and probably the calmest way to end an argument right? He'd need reassurance from time to time so make sure to be patient with him okay? He'd be more confident in time just trust him and don’t stop loving him!!
