Ares as... rooster?
Tumblr media
[ID: An image of a brown-gold rooster cawing. The rooster has a large, six-pointed comb and orange-red round eyes. The background is blurry, highlighting the rooster's neck and face.]
ARES IS A WONDERFUL GOD, and there is little academia about him in particular. There is much about the analysis of him in the Iliad and function in myth, but less about his cultus and more obscure traits. While researching, I stumbled upon a very different Ares….as a rooster. So, as a quick post, here is a small bit on Ares and roosters.
ROOSTERS IN ANCIENT GREECE
Roosters are funny creatures. They’re very feisty, but also sometimes cowardly—affectionate, but terribly bloodthirsty. I have worked with several roosters in my time, and they’ve either been useless or fiends. Hens are often much better at their jobs. A good rooster though is priceless, and I’ll never forget the white tufted rooster at my job we used to have that would cuddle but also attack dogs if they dared step near his flock. Perhaps due to this, Ares also gained an association with roosters—he’s certainly the good kind, if he is to be compared to a rooster.
Chickens were originally thought to have arrived in the Archaic era, aided by chickens being termed the “Persian bird.” Sacred roosters may have even appeared in temples, perhaps suggesting to us as modern polytheists to raise birds in devotion to the gods. They were not a common bird, coming in slowly from West Asia—with divine association, appearing on temples and later into Egypt in which they were connected to the pharaoh. Their ability to produce meat and eggs also made them far more convenient than pigs or cattle, along with consuming less resources. When the bird then reached the Minoans, it possibly gained martial connotations and appeared on Minoan seals.
Chickens in ancient Greece gained many associations—naturally with Helios, but also with childbirth, Selene and her lunar cycles, Apollon and Asklepios, as a chthonian being with Hermes and Persephone, and as a symbol of rebirth and transition.
THE MYTH OF ARES AND THE ROOSTER
There is also the story of Ares’ soldier and lover Alcetyron, who failed to guard the door to Ares and Aphrodite’s affair, allowing Helios to witness the couple:
“Mi. Why, to be sure, I have heard something like this before about a cock. It was the story of a young man called Alectryon; he was a lover of Ares,—used to join in his revels and junketings, and give him a hand in his love affairs. Whenever Ares went to pay a sly visit to Aphrodite, he used to take Alectryon with him, and as he was particularly afraid that Helios would see him, and tell Hephaestus, he would always leave Alectryon at the door, so that he might give him warning when the Helios was up. But one day Alectryon fell asleep, and unwittingly betrayed his trust; the consequence was that the Sun got a peep at the lovers, while Ares was having a comfortable nap, relying on Alectryon to tell him if any one came. Hephaestus heard of it, and caught them in that cage of his, which he had long had waiting for them. When Ares was released, he was so angry with Alectryon that he turned him into a cock, armour and all, as is shown by his crest; and that is what makes you cocks in such a hurry to crow at dawn, to let us know that the Sun is coming up presently; it is your way of apologizing to Ares, though crowing will not mend matters now.”
This story is then better explained by An Argument for a Bronze Age Introduction of the Cock in Ancient Greece by Jorrit M. Kelder:
Perhaps the bird served a double purpose, both as a symbol of ‘transition’ (including the various stages in the cycle of life) and virility. This double connotation may be reflected in the story of Alectryon, a companion of Ares, whose failure to warn his master (who was having an illicit affair with Aphrodite) of the arrival of Helios resulted in his transformation into a cock. The story, first attested in Lucian (Gallus 3), may well be a late one, designed to explain the name and manifold associations of the cock. None of these associations can with certainty be identified in Bronze Age Aegean iconography, though the presence of an altar on the Zakros sealing indicates that the bird could (also) serve some purpose in the religious sphere.
This dialogue continues on and the rooster reveals himself to be Pythagoras after thoroughly roasting the man he was speaking to.
ARES AS ROOSTER
Continuing on, paper I was reading explored slightly on the topic of gods as birds or bird-hybrids, such as Athene the owl, Hermes the chicken, and Ares the rooster:
Tumblr media
This likely represents Ares the fighting rooster—a symbol of virtuality, and extended to his son Eros with eroticism and ancient Greek homosexuality.  Cockfighting was a common sport in ancient Greece, likened with ‘masculine’ prowess in sports and even appearing on Panathenaic amphorae.
Admittedly, I found this most comedic and wonderful. I’m not completely sure what to do with this information beyond associating Ares with roosters, but it is a fun tidbit on him indeed. Roosters and chickens overall have a vast lore behind them, whether that is with the sun or as a symbol of death. Today, chickens are such a common aspect of life—we can simply go out and buy some eggs and chicken meat. However, two thousand years ago, I could imagine someone being beyond excited to finally be able to have a chicken in their life. From this small research spree for Ares, I have gained a new appreciation for chickens. Perhaps that is the blessing that he has given us in being a divine cock.

The Haunted Self is citing multiple studies as evidence for that paragraph about the different types of dissociative parts. All of them are authored by abusive people and/or conspiracy theorists. As we know the first one is by who I'm assuming is Suzette Boon and Onno Van der Hart, and we know Van der Hart is a sexual abuser. 1/?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
To the last question, you are. And you aren't.
It's a pattern I've been noticing.
I have a ton of asks, and don't have the time to get to all of them quickly. I had already planned on addressing the issues you raised in more depth. But I wanted to get that out there.
These accusations required me to do research. And when researching these things, naturally, the top Google results were to the Satanic Temple's Grey Faction, where you obviously got these from.
It was their talking points. Their arguments. Their attacks on doctors and attempts to use these to disprove the existence of dissociative identity disorder as a whole.
Your goal here is ultimately to respond to reports of experiences in DID that have been recorded by professionals by trying to cast doubt on the sources through personal attacks and red herrings.
I've gone over this exact tactic in my anti-endo playbook.
Tumblr media
And in my opinion, the criticisms here are pretty weak all things considered. I'll concede that there have been many accusations against Ross that at least appear to be valid.
At the same time, even you have to realize how far you're stretching with Putnam and Kluft.
Putnam's statements as an expert witness for the defense of a woman and child he had never met or treated, based entirely on documents he read about the case, doesn't seem particularly relevant to me. Putnam stated Jude's communication was independent. Other sources say it was facilitated. Did Putnam intentionally misrepresent the facts, did he misunderstand the documents, or did the documents he reviewed actually suggest the communication was independent and he was merely basing his testimony on them to the best of his ability?
I don't know and neither do you.
Charlatan Lucian Greaves obviously has his narrative that he's trying to sell with this. He found one inaccurate statement Putnam has said over his decades-long career and used it as an ad hominem to attack dissociative identity disorder.
In that very article, Lucien Greaves falsely states multiple times that DID isn't even a real condition.
Jude was 7 years old when Florida-based “trauma therapist” Carol Crow diagnosed him with Multiple Personality Disorder (more recently known as Dissociative Identity Disorder [DID]). It’s a diagnosis that is problematic even in ideal therapeutic settings, as the condition enjoys no scientific validation and is largely viewed as discredited.
The facts are these: an 8-year old autistic boy was diagnosed with a debunked psychiatric disorder.
Greaves has his issues with the ISSTD and the diagnosis of dissociative identity disorder. And it's obvious that he's using the murder of this child to fuel his own campaign.
This testimony, as far as I'm concerned, is completely irrelevant to questions of Putnam's credibility in reports of his experiences with his own patients.
As for Kluft's lawsuits, it's funny how you toss out that he was sued three times, and forget to mention that one of those was dismissed.
From the Grey Faction page that you most definitely used as your source:
Kluft has been the subject of at least three malpractice lawsuits. The first is under gag order and little is known about it, and another was quickly dismissed. The patient in the remaining suit had been diagnosed with MPD by Kluft, who initiated a program of treatment in the form of recovered memory therapy utilizing drugs and hypnosis. She alleged in 1996 that she was ultimately coerced into the false belief that she had suffered childhood sexual abuse at the hands of her father and encouraged to break ties with her parents.
Oh, and the first one, they apparently have no details on!
One dismissed lawsuit, another under gag order with nothing known about it.
That leaves us with one malpractice lawsuit where a woman alleged that memories were implanted. This lawsuit was settled and never went before a judge or jury.
One thing I want to say here is that I'm very skeptical of retractors.
I've talked about how our host's mom was a CSA victim. I try to not talk too much about details. But sometimes I feel it's necessary as it affects our understanding of abuse and the behavior of abusers.
When it came out, reports of the abuse were spread around everywhere and even in newspapers. Her abuser went to prison, but was out soon after. The state failed and sent her back to live with her abuser, who then made her claim she lied about the whole thing. This is what these people do to protect their own reputations. And yes, this was a girl who was a minor at the time and beholden to her parents, but the same thing can still happen to adult abuse victims. Just because they aren't your legal guardians anymore doesn't mean they no longer have power or sway over you in other ways.
With this in mind, based on our own understanding of how abusers tend to operate, I have my doubts that these retractions and claims of false memories are actually genuine.
Also, just a reminder: "Recovered Memory Therapy" isn't a real practice. It's a buzzword made up by the False Memory Syndrome Foundation.
Hey, what were we talking about again?
Tumblr media
Oh yeah, you had me chasing so many red herrings, I forgot this whole thing was started because you were trying to discredit reports of alters with different races existing in DID patients!
Funny how that happened, isn't it?
Like, this whole thing began with me responding to someone who claimed alters of other races don't exist in "real" DID by posting a quote from The Haunted Self, the book that created the theory of structural dissociation.
And what followed was an attempt to discredit a whole slew of psychiatrists by parroting the talking points of a hack religious leader who is actively trying to discredit dissociative identity disorder.

Out of all the parents that Crowe can claim, Mors is somehow the best one. Which says everything about how bad the other two were.
Aerugo Altius is definitely a piece of shit.
For me personally Kraja is a lot more ambiguous because I don't see her as having human morals. She was born human, and technically still is human, but she bound herself - magic and soul - to the land of Galahd. That changes people. She's part of the Spirits, now. They protect Galahd, human inhabitants included, but that doesn't mean they follow human morality.
Kraja knows Galahd will need someone with a connection to the Lucis Caelums. So she makes sure Galahd has someone with a connection to them.
And that connection is Crowe.
But the connection needs to be more Galahkari then Lucian, so Mors cannot take her. And she needs to be human, so Kraja herself cannot raise her beyond a certain point.
Enter Aerugo who wants to strike a deal.
It's unfair and hurtful. It's tragic.
But I agree with you that Mors would definitely be the best parent out of all three. Which is just wild. That man is as emotuinally unavailable as they come, but he would make sure his children have everything else. Which is a step up, yes, but still a very low bar.

hello o/ my name is lucian/crow and i’m not the best at self promotion - but i liked the idea put forward by @altades to help people migrating to tumblr find artists. i was never big on posting art on twitter and im a relatively small name here so you probably haven’t seen me around much!
im a part time traditional portraitist, in a sense, and i owe my current reprieve from art block to the trigun resurgence. i don’t typically get involved in fandom spaces and ive never been up on the lingo; i tend to work on my art and meta analysis behind closed doors. that being said, i’m very vocally critical of stampede as an adaptation of trigun so if you’re only into trigun for the new show im sad to say im probably not the blog for you.

characters out of context
@serenanymph tagged me in this and it looks so fun i have to do it! i’m going to do all the chapters because i want to, so this is under a cut because there are. an amount of chapters in this draft.
no-pressure tagging @loopyhoopywrites @vollzz and @ahordeofwasps
Rules: Include one character quote of your choosing from each chapter of your WIP (or as many chapters as you'd like). Give absolutely no context, save for what's between two parts of an interrupted sentence, should that occur. You may mention who said it.
Prologue - Aliyne
“What can I say, it was a long walk.”
Chapter One - Lucian
“Perhaps I will purchase a chair from you, when I bring back the beast’s head,” said Lucian. “Good day.”
Chapter Two - Kelora Fenthari
“Surprisingly clever,” Kelora interrupted. Iolanthe’s mouth snapped shut. “Well, Mundy, it appears there is half a brain in that head after all.”
Chapter Three - Aliyne
“What’s all this ‘we’ business? I can let a giant monster do what it likes.”
Chapter Four - Vren
“If you lied to me, I’ll be back,” the Wraith said. “You know how I feel about liars, Johar.”
Chapter Five - Leshanna
“Why did Master Ril'azur Fierrdenre repair your lute and why do you keep calling him ‘Zinby’?” Leshanna hurried after him. “Will you please take off that robe, it is not yours-- oh, no, not right now! For goodness sake, Mister Crow, this is my kitchen!”
Chapter Six - Sorrow
“I had very little desire to be transformed into a toad this evening.”
Chapter Seven - Aliyne
“If you play that fucking arpeggio one more time I am going to tattoo it on your backside with my knife.”
Chapter Eight - Zander
“Fuck you, dragon, we’re alive!”
Chapter Nine - Quest
“Leshanna’s on my side, she says it’s ‘a menace to public health’, but Aliyne and Zander think it’s stupid.”
Chapter Ten - Leshanna
“Where else are they going to stay? In a tavern?” said Leshanna, shuddering. “You can’t expect Imidris to sleep in a room next to drunken sailors and cutpurses.”
Chapter Eleven - Sorrow
“You are a menace and you are demoted.”
Chapter Twelve - Aspiration
“Because of the dragon?” She cocked her head. “Or because of the Wraith?”
Chapter Thirteen - Sorrow
“Now, are you going to come home like a good boy or are you going to insist on playing out past your bedtime?”
Chapter Fourteen - Vren
“No, please, continue to lecture me. I have literally nothing I’d rather be doing.”
Chapter Fifteen - Sorrow
“Are you agreeing with everything I say in the vain hope that I’ll eventually stop talking?”
Chapter Sixteen - Aliyne
“What is it with you infernii and doing the absolute stupidest thing you possibly can at any given time?”
Chapter Seventeen - Sorrow
“I do not think House Kyvelian would have the first idea what to do with you. I have my own reasons for wanting you out of their hands.” He gestured at the dragons corpse. “Run around in Valloroth a little longer, sweet prince. Kill a few more monsters – I’ve heard it builds character.”
(and the epilogue has no dialogue)

Guard Post: Citadel Steps
The last guard location we’re looking at (Nyx Week is next week, folks!) is the Citadel itself, where Nyx is posted for the signing. We won’t be looking at the whole Citadel (that is far too much for this post) just the exterior portions where Nyx and other guards are posted.
[[Unless otherwise noted, these screenshots were taken by @starjunco. All images have ID in the Alt]]
Tumblr media
There are two passageways being guarded here - the gate and the Citadel itself. Nyx starts at the top of the stairs into the formal entrance to the Citadel. These steps are hardly accessible, so perhaps those with difficulty walking them (like, say, Noctis in his wheelchair after the attack) likely use alternative entrances - either around the side or below the courtyard level.
There appears to be two guards at each landing of the stairs, here, and one at the top. The lower four are Guardsmen like Petra, but Nyx seems to be the only Glaive we see on duty here.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A quick look at the area Nyx is directly posted to, showing off some interesting architectural features. There is a mix of modern and ancient - stone and glass, gold lanterns and dark columns. The knotwork and star medallions are quite interesting, as is the glimpse of the middle part of the Lucian Star above the doorway into the building itself. Other than that glimpse, everything here is laid out in strict verticals and horizontals - more greco-roman references, perhaps, especially with the Ionic capital atop the columns.
Tumblr media
We’ll follow Nyx as he paces to see glimpses of the inner plaza. From this angle you can see the temporary scaffolding erected for the large black panels on either side of the building's entrance. They resemble the backdrop for a stage, so perhaps speakers or some type of entertainment or media coverage areas are scheduled there, or they could just be blocking off access to some of the other entrances to the building. In front of Nyx you can see the centerpiece of the plaza (we’ll have a better image later, this is just for your orientation).
Tumblr media
Nyx completes his pace across and turns, letting us see what is beside the steps. More arches here, but the geometric motifs look somewhat like the lanterns below them. That square area could be for an elevator, but is likely just a buttress for the large building given the lack of places to stop or other support.
It’s also nice to see Lucis uses handrails, though they seem very modern even in comparison to this rather modern-looking building.
Beyond, you can see the curved walls that surround this plaza. Though they seem more defensive, they are slightly reminiscent of the colonnades surrounding St. Peter’s Square at the Vatican.
Tumblr media
[[From the St. Peter's Plaza wikipedia page]]
At this point, Nyx figures out Crowe’s watch and abandons his post to race back home, so we get a glimpse of the outer gate.
Tumblr media
This gate here could technically be the “Citadel Gate” from the signs in Nyx’s neighborhood, but there hardly seems to be 3km between them, so likely this is an inner gate of some sort. There are a plethora of banners and symbols to feast your eyes upon, but we’ll point out the greenery and tables - this is likely common space for tourists and perhaps those working within the Citadel itself, so they don’t have to leave the area directly.
Though one might expect this area closest to the center of the city and its capitol to be full of historical buildings, it seems to mainly be open spaces and modern skyscrapers. Perhaps something catastrophic happened here to destroy many of them…
It would be odd how few people are here, but there are two explanations, depending on your inclination. The first is these are all vetted people allowed within this area, and thus there are fewer total and, among them, lower percentages of protesters. The second is they didn’t want to waste money on animating a larger crowd.
Tumblr media
Aside from the tragedy of Nyx and Libertus missing each other in the somewhat sparse crowd, this is an interesting view of the rest of the Citadel area. The building in the background is perhaps the same one found in, well, Founder’s Square seen as the Glaives returned to the city at the beginning of the movie:
Tumblr media
It is, of course, possible, that this is a common building style in Insomnia, but judging from the proximity of the Citadel behind it, it likely is the same structure. This could be the ever-elusive Citadel Gate, though it's still not quite 3km from the Citadel.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The gate here is simple but lovely. Its main identifying feature is these statues. Matching ones appear on the Citadel itself, visible through the gates. The figures appear to be feminine, and the hood and the golden belt might indicate some sort of formal role. These could be akin to the angelic figures from the hotel roof, messengers, priestesses, or (with the white and gold coloring) could represent the Oracles, though they are not usually depicted with the hood.
The elongated hexagons seem to be somewhat of a motif across this whole area, interestingly enough. A sign of the Astrals or their favor, perhaps?
As delicate and pretty as this gilded gate is, though, the road spikes indicate this is intended to be an actual part of the security, as does the massive thickness of the walls on either side.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Back inside this gate, Petra briefs the guards in the plaza before the Citadel. The citizens appear to be wearing far more white than usual - a sign of formality among non-nobility, or an appeal to the Oracle, perhaps. Or a concession to Niflheim and peace, as Aldercapt often wears white to contrast the Lucian black. Or, honestly, a concession to the heat and the black buildings and glass all around them turning the plaza into an oven.
Two guards appear to have replaced Nyx on the upper landing already, so at least there’s that. Perhaps that’s why Petra got pulled up.
Tumblr media
This is just a cool look at his uniform.
Tumblr media
Looking back at the now open gate from the inside as the Niffs approach. It appears to have the same design on both sides.
Nyx also missed Pruvia in the crowd, but that’s more understandable. There are also some more blond Insomnians, for your worldbuilding needs.
Tumblr media
This lovely aerial view of the plaza shows the layout of the center area, the bridges, the sidewalks the pedestrians are standing on, and the lower level below them.
There are interesting designs visible from this angle, too. Is that red carpet always there, or was it painted/tacked down special for this event? The tiles on the first landing are also lovely, and impossible to see in other shots. Is that rectangular part just before the pyramids some sort of tomb of the unknown soldier, a king’s memorial, or some sort of plaque?
The arrows are also odd, given that Lucians drive on the right inside and outside Insomnia.
Tumblr media
Here’s the promised look at the center of the plaza. The glass pyramids are interesting – perhaps they project light for some sort of display or show? Or just help prevent people from driving straight at the Citadel.
Beside the blurry Nyx among the crowd, if you squint you can see Aldercapt and Ardyn getting out of the car, along with their aides.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The main council members appear to have come out to greet them, though they don’t look particularly happy to be here.
Tumblr media
Neither does Regis, looking on from the windows above. Of course, we know that to be the proper attitude for what’s to come.
But your doom is not yet set! There are still five days before Nyx Week 2023 starts! Good luck!

Anyone in the cast trying to stalk Lucian to figure out his motives and to try to kill him until they see him singing a slow Spanish song to this little tiny kitten and then boom 💥they fall in love. And no one will believe them because to the others, Lucian is still y'know, Lucian. So one by one the one person brings the others to try to catch him singing again and each time 💥💥💥💥 all fall in love(or get weirdly possesive). And by the end it leaves Lucian confused on how the others know he got a cat? That's all he's worried about honestly, protecting the identity of his kitty <3.

<p>11. 10. The obligatory Ghosts AU.</p>
<p>Twins Luke and Leia inherit a mansion in Massassi, New York, and, along with Leia's boyfriend Han and his old squadmate Chewie, embark on the unique adventure of opening a B&B. But they have company! Joining them are Victorian era Chinese immigrants Chirrut and Baze (<u>1850s</u>), lost Spaniard Kay—something, Native American scout currently going by Cass, and bootlegger (or Buffalo Bill expy performer, for Saw Gerrera's Wild West show) Jyn Erso. Bodhi Rook, the unlucky first-gen immigrant <u>satellite TV installer</u> and aspiring pilot who died while installing a satellite dish on the roof in the 1980s, is the 'baby' of the bunch. Oh, and also Mon Mothma (wife of the man who built the house) or Shmi (who would be a bondservant from Ireland, second wife of the first white farmer on the land). In the Basement we meet the Company, headed by Cody– wwi soldiers who survived Jim Crow and the trenches of France only to die of the Spanish Flu. They find the underground comforting. (Fucking bombers! Ruined the sky for us!) In the next house over, owned by organic weed grower Maz Kanata, you have WWII corporal Draven. In the house on the other side there is fur trader/ revolutionary war spymaster Lucian (I burned my life to build a nation I knew I'd never live to see), who K and Cass used to spend a lot of time with before the stream and property lines shifted. He was completely wrong about Benedict Arnold. Mon Mothma's daughter is Mon's unfinished business, and so she gets to ascend at the end of the third season. In the condemned summer kitchen you have Rex, Gregor and Wolffe, who survived the flu and took employment in the town. At the time the heiress of the mansion was Miss Tano, who went missing during the Cold War. They assume that she had gone on one last mission and never came back. (Fact: she's stuck in an underground bunker on the estate. Alternatively she did go out on that mission, and will be summoned back during a Halloween episode.) These guys died in the incident that left the summer kitchen condemned, and are forever trying to work out what they did wrong with that new water heater. Their unfinished business is reconciling with the basement ghosts (there is some sort of bad blood, partial survivors guilt) and for Rex finding Ahsoka. </p>
<p>Kay, of course, died in the lightning strike and can affect electronics. Cassian was shot walking on the lake one winter while looking for his missing sister, and froze to death. Think the <u>death of Otzi the iceman</u>. His unfinished business will be finding her bones. His ghost power is cold spots. Jyn was part of an Indian act in <u>Esau Gerrera's Circus of Curiosities</u>. (Saw himself presented himself as an exotic Arabian prince or something. So people wouldn't think 'escaped slave' when he smuggled people to Canada. (Jyn wasn't exactly around for that part.) Yeah, Cass is pissed. She was left behind and went looking for some gold her father allegedly had stowed nearby. That, incidentally, is her unfinished business. Her ghost power is making people feel like they were punched. Leaves no marks, can't affect objects. People just think someone lightly punched them.</p>
<p>You know, it might be worth taking a look at it… </p>
<p>No, no Luke. It'll be like that gerbil. You see it, you get attached. It's old, it's historic, it's huge. What would we do with it? When would we have time? I say we sell it. Split the profits fifty fifty, you can get that old plane you've been saving for and I can pay off the rest of my schooling. </p>
<p>I thought you'd had that ironed out.</p>
<p>Not the point, Mr GI Bill…. Shit, sorry. I didn't mean it like that… it's covered, but it…</p>
<p>Gets to you. I'm sorry, I…</p>
<p>Sigh. No, i shouldnt havr snapped… </p>
<p>Han?</p>
<p>Yessss….</p>
<p>He won't find you upstate. </p>
<p>Nice try… but youre right. Let's take a look at the place. See what we're dealing with. But don't get attached, I'm selling my half. </p>
<p>We'll see.</p>
<p>Alright, so it's the summer of 93, and we'd just conquered the Demon's Pass. </p>
<p>Really? Another of your collective daydreams?</p>
<p>You could step up and talk for a change. </p>
<p>So. The invasion.  Chirrut and bodhi are optimistic, Kay and Baze dread the change, Jyn is pessimistic, Cassian is past caring tbh, mon tries to rally morale. </p>
<p>So there is an </p>
<p>Indian (Cass)</p>
<p>Arrow Guy (Cass)</p>
<p>Temporally unusual European (Kay)</p>
<p>Relatively modern dude </p>
<p>Repressed Victorian (Mon)</p>
<p>Officer (Luthen, Draven)</p>
<p>Kick-ass performer lady (Jyn)</p>
<p>Token repressed guys (Baze and Chirrut)</p>
<p>Troop leader (Bodhi)</p>
<p>Spiritualist practitioner (Chirrut)</p>
<p>Food smell aficionado (Sass→ Cass)</p>
<p>Superchill individual (Flower →Chirrut )</p>
<p>Dubiously ethical group member (Alberta, Flower → Jyn)</p>
<p>Alternative setups include Jyn as the new newcomer, and Cass as the misplaced Spaniard (1500, see <u>Lavrador</u> (1498), <u>Cabot</u> (1497), <u>Leon</u> (1513), <u>de Soto</u> (1540), etc.) while Kay is a downright ancient ghost whose isolation has caused him to lose most of his connection to humanity and a severe case of the personality flattening we notice when ghosts aren't in contact with the living doing living stuff. Cass "saves" him by pulling him out of that state. In that scenario, Maarva and Clem might have been around at the time. Alternatively, they could have come later as an immigrant and an escaped slave and have given the duo lessons in English. Either way, they're long since sacked off. </p>

Can make people feel a specific adverse sensation related to your condition at the time of death by walking through them. But you experience it too! All the time.
Are the lady of the house too
Are an amazing liar.
<p>Baze. Something to do with opium, guilt. </p>
<p>Chirrut. Knew Baze in life. Scholar visiting Yale. Blinded by a fever and walked in the wrong direction at the wrong time. Was in a fight with Baze and stormed off. Drowned. </p>
