#this meme has been going through my head for a bazillion years lol #i love to interact and then it hits me that im probably bothering you guys #plus the current popular stuff I am sadly so unfamiliar with #when i was younger i would gravitate to my own interests when i was unfamiliar with other topics and it got on peoples nerves a lot #and i completely understand that so i dont wanna repeat those mistakes #its just like a game of pingpong of me talking too much and me hiding under my desk bc i feel like im bothering everyone #also like the last time it was p much confirmed i was being annoying i cried for like two hours bc my fears were realized haha #and when a line is drawn for me i kinda like to stay at least 2ft away from wherever that line is just to be safe #you gotta like throw a cookie attached to a fishing line to get me closer to the line lol #because i will seriously be way too cautious otherwise #im trying to get more brave though im just kinda like my cat who heard a noise in the bathroom cabinet #and now he refuses to go near it #being mindful of others feelings and respecting their boundaries is super important to me #and sometimes that boxes me in a bit

The whole situation with a certain Indie creator’s work blowing up too quickly and feeling overwhelmed by it, really makes me think about how… not fun it is sometimes when your work gets popular. Obviously my level of popularity and fandom doesn’t match there’s but dealing with people who see your OCs and start claiming them as their own, disrespect boundaries and basically hound you with their preferences is such a reoccurring problem it’s a bit scary.

For example, I remember wanting to completely scrap Powers as a character when people were treating her as a self insert to be homophobic and misogynistic, despite carrying neither of those traits. People make fetish art of my OCs and then tag me in it (and if I don’t reblog/retweet it they practically spam me about it). I’ve had people try to steal my own OCs out of spite. I’ve seen people draw smut of my underaged characters. People have gotten angry with me when my characters disprove their headcanons or present themselves in ways that aren’t their preferences. The amount of times I’ve dealt with people genuinely angry with me that Sera is a woman is a scary amount. Queer people thinking my art is fetish content that is catered for straight men. I’ve had people tell me that because I don’t depict more of a specific group, that means I despise them and that my art is inherently promoting hateful ideology for not depicting them. People sending me videos of bugs being killed or mocking my characters because they think it’s funny. and I have to repeat again these aren’t random trolls online, this is from my own followers.

And you guys have seen how angry people get when I tell them to stop being bigoted under my queer art, whether it’s complaining that I’m drawing too many women/lesbians or bitching that I’m drawing gay men at all, I’ve had to deal with the unfortunate fact some of my followers, no matter how many times I try to push them off my account are just… very hateful and think my work is fetish content meant to cater to them. Lesbian art isn’t queer art, it’s a porn category for some people. And a lot of queer men think it’s fine to lesbophobic and misogynistic under my art and demand that I draw less female characters because (insert that annoying Speed quote here)

I do really like the fanart and I’m completely fine with NSFW works as long as the characters are 18+, but it’s just. It’s scary sometimes. And it scares me to imagine what would happen if I really blew up. Respect creator’s boundaries… please.

There's this weird phenomenon where the people who are really, really invested in Campaign 3 being The Best try to argue that it's the most closely bonded party. when in fact the absolute strongest material with Bells Hells thus far is them realizing with a shock that they've spent almost three months alternating between "my way or the highway" and smoothing things over to the point that they almost shatter along with Ashton and realize that they absolutely cannot go on a time-sensitive, mission-critical journey to save the world without stopping to take a team-bonding vacation.

And to be clear, this rips, but it feels as though while Campaign 1 and Campaign 2 fans might disagree on their favorite campaigns, they do like their campaigns for what they actually are and simply have different preferences with regards to what kind of story they like. This particular flavor of Campaign 3 fans, and there's a decent number of them, only care about winning on the most kindergarten-ass "all you need is love 🥺" axis (also, shades of the bean-counting/points approach to media analysis) but as a result they put forward an idea of the campaign that's simply not the reality and it's like, do you like Campaign 3? Or do you like the fanfiction version of it you wrote in your head based on the first 10 episodes and into which you have slowly dissolved your brain? There's plenty of valid reasons to enjoy or even prefer the campaign, but it's easily the most dysfunctional party and that's fine!

Here is a big tip on how to get cats to like you:

RESPECT THEIR BOUNDARIES.

When cats don't want to be touched they will let you know. They will scratch you, bite you, growl at you, etc. My cat and I became much better friends when I started doing this. She would bite me when I touched her in a place she didn't like or I was touching her too much so I followed her signs and didn't touch that place/stopped touching her entirely, allowing her a break from the sensation. Some cats do love bite, but you will KNOW when a cat is love biting you vs biting you.

Also, when a cat doesn't want touch, that doesn't mean it's indefinite, when you stop touching them when they ask you to you build trust with them, and if they trust you they will come back for more pets because they know you will stop when they no longer want to be touched or talked to.

ALSO ALSO when they start wriggling in your arms that is when you put them down. Cats wriggle the most when they don't feel safe in your arms or they do not want to be held.

Cats do not like touch typically, and respecting their boundaries regarding touch and pretty much everything else will make them respect you more. Cats trust people who make themselves trustworthy. The people who stop petting them when their cat bites or scratches them for too much touch, the people who put them down when they don't want to be held, the people who bring food and talk softly to them.

A lot of cats have intense sensory issues from what I've seen/heard and more likely than not if your cat seems to hate you that is because you aren't respecting their boundaries, you're too loud, and they just might not like you. They hate too much touch and bad sensations and loud sounds.

In summary, a basic way to get your cat to trust you, is to stop touching them when they bite or scratch or growl or hiss, all of these are their defense mechanisms and signs they are angry/scared, use a soft tone of voice with cats, and put them down when they wriggle and fight out of your grip. Build their trust with you, and keep doing these things even when they DO become more loving. consistency and trust go hand in hand.

Respect your little furball and they will respect you. Cats do enjoy love, but in moderation and from people they trust.

Cats deserve respect just like any other animal.

Animal whisperers are the ones who treat animals with respect and love. It pays off. Trust me.
