I initially played ACNH for 300 hours in between release day - july of 2020, and never played the 2.0 update or the HHP dlc until recently! So I decided to make a second ACNH spread with the goals to: experience as much of the 2.0 update as possible, beat HHP, complete all the bugs and fish in the museum (I have the fossils done and I will finish art another time).

I had a ton of fun but this was the longest grind I've ever done. I still have nightmares waiting like 5 hours for that damn giraffe stag to spawn my fucking god. Super worth it though bc this was the first time catching all bugs and fish even though I've played CF and NL :}

Summary

This was brutal. I curse the name of giraffe stags, mahi-mahis, and Dagnel. I had a lot of fun with HHP and I'm happy to be done with 3/4 of the museum, but my god at what cost? I wish my 2020 self did like a small grind to get these pier fish because why the hell did it take me 8 hours for the mahi-mahi T^T. Enough complaining, I highly enjoyed happy home paradise. I never played HHD for ACNL so this was a fun surprise and I loved the range of homes you could design. I also loved how there were overarching goals to complete: school, cafe, restaurant, hospital, clothing store, and when those were all done you were treated to a KK rave. I also enjoyed seeing my favorite villagers again and getting to play in seasons I hadn't previously played in ACNH. I have mixed feelings about Harv's island. I like that a ton of characters are brought back but I think some of them could've been integrated on the onto the main island better, like reese and cyrus having an add on to nook's shop and also give us another nook shop upgrade T^T. I miss playing with friends but it seems I might be making plans to play with Grimspark! Perhaps in the future I'll pick up this game again to finish art and flowers but that'll be in 2024 me problem. Tired of grinding T^T.

paintball deer hunter: I ACTUALLY LOVE THIS CHALLENGE SO MUCH like wouldn't that be so fun??? sorry but I LOVE this challenge

horror challenge: I think this one is universally loved like. what isn't fun about a little horror? it's also PERFECT for me because I LOVE the concept of horror but HATE actual gore. like the stick-together, classic tropes, ect. but I hate gore. so this was so fun for me!

cooking: I do really like cooking myself so this sounds so fun. team bonding and all that really.

tri-armed-triathlon: this is like one of the best episodes ever and the challenge is so cool. yeah.

trust challenge: also really fun I love mini-challenges like this. makes for fun dynamics as well.

cliff diving: it was definitely fun and a great intro to the show. the jumps characterized everyone, and the first two episodes are def some of my favorite.

boney island canoe thing: I really liked this one there was a lot of team bonding and just a fun challenge honestly.

phobia factor: facing your greatest fears? the challenge of all time.

camping in the woods: genuinely just sounds like fun. the scary stories were cool too. fun episode and challenge.

x-treme challenges: I love the mini-challenges they're so fun. this one isn't my favorite bc I think only the skiing one was actually fun the other two were meh.

talent show: obviously it's basic but it's a classic. you can't go wrong with a talent show. plus, you get to see what certain characters are good at and that's really fun.

awake-a-thon: had some of my favorite moments of the whole show, and also a great challenge for characterization. also just a fun challenge idea.

wheel of dares: def fun espec for final 3 like. yeah.

hide & seek: a classic game. basic but fun.

finale: it was good but I feel like the finales of every season were just. underwhelming. except for world tour.

animal hunt: I don't care about it that much.

chef's whole thing: idk it was good ig but like. idrc. the episode was really good but the challenge was meh.

dodgeball: really basic I don't really care about it.

the weird episode with the flood and the coconut: idk I feel like I forgot everything about it. like it wasn't the best wasn't the worst.

the one where duncan got eliminated: whatever I'm out of here.

scavenger hunt: also just okay idrc.

10 second wheel of fortune: this one was actually so boring. only mini challenge episode that bores me like what.

bike challenge: OMG I saw this episode and was like "bike challenge! sounds so fun!" it was not fun. It was so poorly written. genuinely sucks. WHY WERE THE RULES LIKE THAT like there were so many other ways to make the challenge actually work I could go on for days. why did they care about passing the finish on each others' bikes? why does immunity matter when the last person is auto-eliminated? like OH MY GOD

i would love to hear your thoughts on action bc if we get into world tour there will be carnage (it is my most watched season, i hate it, i love it, i want to burn it to the ground, heather was slaying. im a silly cody gwen & heather liker this is where i get my food of my faves interacting). also i think action had good silly moments i did enjoy justin a lot. and we were robbed of an actual lindsay & justin friendship.

total drama day omg should i rewatch… (<- girl who has watched five thousand million times)

yeah world tour is. i love her bad but its like a toxic relationship thing and for every good thing theres a bad and its like. well. anyways so total drama action. honestly i really like action partly because 1) lindsay has such a big role and she is my fav :3 she shouldve won and i will die on that hill but i think her character development is fantastic, going from being heathers henchman to standing up for herself to having to play the game on her own to having to fight everyones expectation of her being an idiot to learning how to play strategically which is something she definitely learned from heather but shes just. not evil about it! love her. love her and her growth and she shouldve won. anyways 2) i think its very fun to rewatch. as a season with an overarching narrative its weaker than island and world tour but the episodes on their own are just really fun? like you could watch an episode at random with no context and just hop into it and i think in that sense its just kind of nice? so if i ever just want to watch like an episode of total drama to unwind or something i’ll probably pick action. the character dynamics are all fun and the challenges are interesting (until you get towards the end but. there are only so many movie genres that make interesting challenges. its ok). i think some people say that the every other episode being a non elimination makes it less intense which is true and if you want actual DRAMA this season kinda lacks? but if you want something more in line with like. a sitcom. action is your best bet

2. As a parallel with ep 1 and 2, I think Lucius will be revealed to be alive at the end of ep 1. And then ep 2 starts with his perspective, going through everything up until whatever present moment were on (maybe he knocks out and kidnaps Izzy or something lol)

3. Of course, ep 3 parallels, Stede and Ed will reunite at the end of the ep. And STEDE IS GONNA RESCUE ED

4. But now, I think by what we've seen so far, Anne Bonny and Spanish Jackie will show up during Stede's journey back to Ed. It would be funny if the reason Swede is there with Jackie is to throw her off, taking one for the team XD

5. That purple party though... must be related to Susan I think (and I think she's gonna be Ching Shih). But I am absolutely down for a Ed and Stede slow dance

6. As much as I want my "Stede and Ed deserted on an island bottle episode", I think what's gonna happen is Ed is "accidentally" swept overboard during a storm (we find out though he wasn't planning to fight out of his circumstances), and he has a little journey by himself. Hornigold ghost, maybe a pearl necklace swept up to shore? And hey, it could be a one-man play with Taika as a bottle episode still

7. But here now, I'm gonna upset people - I think one of the main supporting cast members is gonna die. Gonna be a real dramatic moment, an All Is Lost story beat. And I said it before, but I think it's gonna be Buttons - he's loyal to Stede and the crew, and would not hesitate to sacrifice himself if it came to it. I'm just suspecting, and I hope it isn't true, but the show has proven there's no plot armor

8. Omg Naran, I am taking your idea now of that cliffhanger. Because if Stede and Ed have a "our last night together" sex scene?????? I will combust, I swear. Even though I am still certain that a blackbonnet sex scene will not come until s3, I am hoping now for your theory to come true, because that would be the most emotional shit (and I mean, I am hoping for a slightly funny but more emotional love scene). I AM though, also certain there's gonna be a cliffhanger for the season. Hopefully not causing Stede and Ed to separate, it could just be like, them looking at the new danger (Lieutenant Maynard), then cut to black

Eddie literally, I shit you not, says "I don't want to waste my time with you". Backtracks and digs himself into a hole of telling you he wants to focus on Dana.

Meera is stupidly nice about leaving, but holy shit, I feel so bad for anyone who isn't pursuing Alfie rn. She is devestated. And if you're not pursuing him you have to stand there and be all "Yeah, he's just a friend."

Arlo is pissed about it, and is like "I know who I would've picked if I were Alfie." Rude...

Holy shit this girl was here for an entire one day and we are getting the world's longest farewell just goooooooo

Oh my god though, you have a choice of saying "Goodbye", "Something Sexy", or "Good Riddance". If you pick "Good Riddance" everyone gets soooo mad omg omg omg 💀💀

Dana pulls you for a chat, and she cracks on to you, but it's actually stupidly cute and she talks about her cat Georgie.

Alfie overhears and you have to choose between them. Whichever one you don't pick leaves and you have a convo with the other. Then you get to kiss the one you picked.

Bla bla bla, Arlo rubs it in your face that she's with Suresh and you can tell her to fuck off.

Kat is sad about the possibility of finn cracking on at casa.

New casa boys: Pete, Johnny, Nicolas.

All three boys are flirting with you right off the bat. Pete says he wants to tick your box, heh heh heh.

Pete: Likes Rock climbing, motorbikes, and women. Not in that order. (He's from Middlesborough)

Johnny performs on a stage.

Nicolas is a surgeon (guess we know who I’m fucking.)

Oh… a tree surgeon? Okay, sure, that’s…. definitely a real thing. (Edit: I guess we’re not fucking. We’re rooting. Little Australian giggle for you)

The boys are asked who they like.

Nicolas likes any of them

Pete says they’re all his type on paper, but arlo has caught his eye.

Johnny liked Dana and YOU

You have to say which one you like best.

If you say Pete, Arlo gets mad.

If you say Nicolas, everyone supports you.

If you say Johnny, They say he’s cute and a sweetheart. (Aw, he's from Bath!)

One of the boys will ask you to have a chat on the roof terrace, I'm not sure how it decides which one. Perhaps it's the one you said you liked best?

Arlo is immediately possessive as fuck over Pete, wow, these writers fucking HATE her.

Pete likes someone independent and confident. He's 'spontaneous and always up for taking some risks'. His dad used to race motorbikes. He is not afraid of a bit of competition.

Nicolas likes someone adventurous and fun. He's 'loved being in nature ever since he first went camping as a kid'. He knows he'd stick if he was coupled up with someone like you.

Johnny likes someone who appreciates a bit of romance. He loves to have a laugh, and also loves art and poetry. He likes distance running, dogs, and his mum. He hopes the other guys slip up so he can have a shot with you.

Whichever one you go with will ask you if you want to share a bed.

last movie: i saw the new avatar movie last weekend! it was fun, i enjoyed it on a purely entertainment level, the worldbuilding and visuals were amazing, the story was just okay, but the messaging falls kind of flat when you consider the disparaging comments james cameron has made about actual indigenous communities and cultures. but i mean... i too want to freedive and have a whale bff lmao

currently reading: i’m a slow reader but i’m a few chapters into the hands of the emperor by victoria goddard based on @doomcountry‘s recommendation! i’m really enjoying it so far!

currently watching: ffffffffucking. love island uk. both the current season and season 3. also rewatching the original cw gossip girl, catching up on leverage: redemption, and i’ve been meaning to start yellowjackets

currently consuming: nothing, my tummy hurts because i got cocky and made my dinner too spicy :( but it was tasty so i have no regrets and will NOT be learning anything from this experience.

currently craving: sleep. also maybe just like... plain toast with a fried egg? but eggs are fucking expensive atm and also i have to go buy more bread

definitely season 2 is game of thrones level intense. all the sex and heart seizing action? *sobs and screams into the void* yeah. season 2 is what the draws in new viewers. they haven't read the books but the tiktoks are crazy and that's enough for them to start a "omg should I have read the books first?" debate because of course the production of the show is gonna fuck up a little (I'm sorry, it's true).

maybe they change an important character to another actor (not markhyuck tho, but maybe mks father - wait but I think they make him hot/ter and now people are being questionable when it comes to him. "mark's gotta relax, his dad's not that bad" because he's a fucking charismatic dilf now and they make a fanbase for him🙄. but the ones who read the books will never turn soft or putty for that man😒 we had to shove food down our throats to keep from crying at the university dining hall when mark confronted his dad about never caring about him, we will never recover!

or they omit or add something that feels kinda off (I'M SORRY!😭) like too much sex. they actually have sex in Johnny's love nest! can you believe it?! like THAT NEVER HAPPENED, is what people are enraged about on twitter. and everyone's mad at the network for making mark disrespect johnny that much further but surprisingly it Segways into a johnmark duel-turned-brotherly-makeup episode. and maybe you consented. Against your will it becomes one of the highlights of the season. you might reveal you regretted it immediately and it's one of the reasons you didn't want to adapt it, because they would try to add or take away stuff, even though you were glad the resolution was done well and you're in a love-hate situation with the outcome because THAT STILL NEVER FUCKING HAPPENED.

it's like the best fucking season yet. it's what people remember and compare to the next coming seasons. it was just that legendary

I think Donghyuck's first heat interlude definitely starts out the third season. It happened in the islands and the third season is in the islands anyway

the third season doesn't have a full picture yet, so of course the daydream ends with episode 2 season 3, with dongsook rescuing mark from the water prison, only to end up having to unarm Yangyang with his hands and his sexiness. (I can't make myself daydream about the chapters after the water prison until ch58 unfortunately, they're still solidly 'on paper' for me). But maybe I'll do this again once the full tone of the arc is done playing out. this has been fun🤭
