thinking about lucifer again and how much i hate the “sadist” image he has.

in the words of the lovely kazuya yamashita (lucifer’s va) in what is probably my favorite otaku fm episode: i believe lucifer thinks about his brothers constantly. honestly love how much kazuya seems to understand lucifer’s character pretty well.

and it doesn’t take that much digging to realize how much lucifer cares about his family. he signed away the freedom he just earned to save his sister. he kept it a secret from his brothers to save them the hurt - thinking it’d be better if that burden fell to him alone. he hid belphie away in the attic to prevent diavolo from finding out belphie wanted to destroy humanity - and face punishment that’s likely worse than death for it. lucifer relies on mammon the most, the one who he seems to be the strictest with. and honestly, i’d be strict too if the last time i rebelled against authority i lost my sister. lucifer is strict with them to protect them, to protect his family.

and i keep thinking about mammon who expressed to have no regrets following lucifer after the celestial war. about beel who sees it as his duty to follow and protect lucifer. about levi being introduced to anime and manga through lucifer.

it’s really no wonder that the way to lucifer’s heart is getting along with his family.

this is only the tip of the iceberg, and there’s so much more to say! but yeah, i think the sadist label is a huge mischaracterization.

i hateeee jokes about arab parents only wanting sons and not wanting daughters because 1- when it's like that, that's an awful thing and not something to be joked about and 2- it spits on the face of every arab parent who consistently has to put their middle finger up to the world and say fuck you my daughter is my greatest treasure and i'd rather have her than a thousand sons and i won't hear a word against her!! because in my experience these are the most loving parents to be found in the whole wide world

There's… something else I want you to do" Childe blinks curiously but turns and follows you, eager to find out what you have planned for him today. "So, what's the rush comrade? Is there something important I need to fight for you?" but you shake your head and pull him into your teapot, standing awkwardly before him and fiddling with your fingers. his smile fades, replaced with a look of concern when he sees the expression on your face, like you're holding back tears. "Sorry… you're not fighting anything today, just… can you hold me for a bit? life has been hard, and-" you're cut off when Childe sweeps you into a hug, running a hand through your hair and tracing your spine with the other. with a sniffle you cling to him, hands holding his shirt in a vice grip as you cry. wiping away your tears, you look up, and he looks back down at you, eyes soft and full of care. "Can you do the thing I like…?" with a small smile and a crackle of painless electro he transforms into Foul Legacy, moving to bump his face against your cheek with a purr and a lick. it draws a watery laugh from you, and he rumbles affectionately at the sound, claws returning to your hair and back. for the rest of the day Foul Legacy spends time with you, carrying you in his arms and gazing with a look of pure adoration in his crystalline eye. he's with you for whatever you'd like to do, whether it be cooking or gardening or stepping outside for some fresh air- all are met with a resounding purr from Foul Legacy as he holds your small hands in his larger talons and dips his mask down as an imitation of a kiss, even if all you want to do in the end is curl up with him and take a nap. sure, it wasn't battle or sparring. but it made you smile again, which was all the more worth it.

OHHHHH THIS IS SUCH A GOOD QUESTION DONT MAKE ME CHOOSE BETWEEN ALL 78 OF MY WIVES....... i really do adore his female characters because truly madly deeply they are ALL UNHINGED in some capacity and that is the chief quality i look for in a woman. it's VERY close but i think in the end it's gotta be either nastasya filippovna or grushenka <333 honorable mentions list is too long but dunya, lise khokhlakova, and varvara stavrogina are also very dear to me—i just really really love morally complex women with devastating backstories who do bad things especially out of self-hatred/self-sabotage, extra especially if those bad things are to men <3 nastasya & grushenka did nothing wrong
