It's That Time Of Year Again ... 🌻Litha 2023
My Summer Solstice celebration this year will sadly be a bit more restricted than it has been in years past, but then, that may be a good thing.
Each year, I have some fairly lofty and ambitious plans on how I want to commemorate the longest day of the year. And each year, I end up wearing myself out because I put way too much on my to-do list.
The major difference I have to contend with this year is 1) I'm still in recovery from my surgery leaving me with some physical limitations, and 2) I don't have to balance the celebration with my regular work hours because of #1.
So here I am again, trying to find the right balance between celebrating this wonderful time of year with my ambitious need to do ALL THE THINGS!
Here's hoping I will take a page from my mantra for 2023, and do less ... live more.
We'll see how that goes. Also, technically I'll be celebrating on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday this year, simply because I can. Yay! But I'm going to do a little prep on Monday in order to avoid being in the kitchen all day on the Solstice.
Here's the plan:
Monday (June 19th)
Grocery Shopping for Litha ✅
Bake honey cakes ✅
Tuesday (June 20th)
Make Lavender Lemonade ✅
Go see The Flash (3pm) ✅
Read my book
Listen to vinyl records
Dance ✅
Wednesday (June 21st)
Meditate - Tao - Tarot reading for Summer Solstice ✅
Watch sunrise ✅
Cook breakfast ✅
Walk in the park ✅
Cook lunch ✅
Write in journal
Listen to vinyl records
Cook dinner ✅
Watch sunset
Watch a movie or show (Dungeons & Dragons? Lower Decks? That movie with James Spader and Angela Bassett?) ✅
Paint
Thursday (June 22nd)
Read my book
Work on jigsaw puzzle
Friday (June 23rd)
Work on jigsaw puzzle
Begin sorting and purging clothes in closet
That's all I have for now. It certainly seems like enough. As always, I'll check back to share what I actually got up to in comparison with my lofty plans.
Until then, Happy Pride and happy last days of spring!

A Night to Remember by Molanna
It's Litha, the longest day of the year, and Geralt is throwing a garden party at his newly acquired estate, Corvo Bianco, the old vineyard in the Sansretour Valley. Milva cannot dance, but Cahir is a good teacher. The delicious wine and Jaskier's newest song also help. And then there are Angoulême's Hansa Games and Regis's hot hooch …

The fast music and the other dancers carried them forward, and Cerys was happy to let Jutta lead and swing her around, watching her usual serious expression melt away into the biggest grin, her green eyes sparkling in the light of the fire.
Cerys and Jutta celebrate Litha, and each other.
A Sacrificial Rite To Render Truth by do_androids_dream
An ancient prophecy states that Nilfgaard will perish if Emhyr var Emreis does not marry within a certain period of time. Certainly, Emhyr does not want Nilfgaard to fall, but neither does he want to marry some random noblewoman. Resourceful as he is, he finds a logical solution to his problem. However, this involves a certain witcher…
