mechanic and robot girl. robot girl goes to 'sleep' in a vat of nano repair goo every night. it's a big open tube of a tub filled to the brim with green newtonian gel fluid. sparkling lights like little jewels underneath from the watertight sensorchips.

sensing heat and movement. tracking. tracking. her intake systems in and out. in and out. a rhythm inside. mimicry. machinery. little friends. helping care for her at night. like a dozen little yous for her.

she says she never really sleeps. every model like her shuts off in the goo. its like everything goes away. a blackout curtain on her life. and then she's awake again. nice and new and ready for the day.

you ask her how it feels to sleep inside it. right before she dozes off. she thinks for a bit. "sticky, like rice pudding stuck under your nail" she says offhandedly. you didn't know she liked rice pudding. she says she doesn't. it's the closest thing that matches.

maybe you could sneak into bed with her next time. keep her company. what's stopping you? you say it like a joke but it rolls off your tongue more sensitively. words taking time step-by-step to test the waters between you. cold? she takes a beat to respond. or warm?

Serotonin by Girl In Red is a really important song to me because it actually shows the reality of having intrusive thoughts

and especially since intrusive thoughts are so stigmatised it makes me feel so emotional because its not shaming me for having them or making me feel like even more of a horrible person for having them then i already feel about myself even tho i cant help that i have them in the first place but actually talking about what its like and what it feels like and it just makes me feel so seen and less alone

and the song itself is just so right. like the way the beat goes up and up and you keep thinking its gonna drop but it never does and that feels like the anxiety you get with intrusive thoughts because you can get so panicked by these thoughts and you cant make them stop! why the fuck wont they stop?!?!

and the way the different beats feel a bit like how fast your heart starts beating when you start to panic and drown in your thoughts

and the actual intrusive thoughts that are talked about because they are ones that people actually have and struggle with

and how the world makes you out to be this crazy person if you have them all but really they are very unwanted but no one understands that and how you are fucking terrified of yourself because of these fucking thoughts and feel like you dont have any control and want to just make it stop

The whole Dieter situation came from an intrusive thought I had. "What if you added [Insert very fucked up scenario here] onto the blog?" Except, instead of ignoring that intrusive thought, I held onto it. (The scenario in question being the finale with the rape and murder) And the final result was a MASTERPIECE.
