I haven't been able to read fantasy in months... I started this one and was shocked to see I couldn't put it down! This is easily one of my favorite reads so far this year. This story had everything I love: adventure, quirky banter, and a slow-burn relationship that I was 100% on board with! I truly loved everything about this story, and Elise's writing style was such an added bonus. There isn't a single thing I would change about this story. Though this cover is what first caught my eye, the story is just as gorgeous. "Cinderella meets The Cruel Prince" is the perfect way to describe this story. If you're at all intrigued by my review (albeit vague, totally on purpose), please do yourself a favor and read this one! [author collab] 💬 If you were to give a brand new dating couple a bit of relationship advice, what would you tell them? Today I’ve teamed up with Guy Blaise (@the_french_perspective) to share his newest book, Love Like the French, with you! This was such a interesting read! It’s written as a series of letters that were sent to Guy asking for relationship advice, ranging from whether or not to leave a troubled relationship, down to intimate questions in the bedroom, and Guy’s responses to those questions. He shares a lot of his own experiences, including serious topics like racism and pushing relationship boundaries. I didn’t realize prior to reading this book how different relationships were viewed in France versus here in the US. This is definitely a book I’d recommend checking out if you’re into non-fiction. There were quite a few times that I laughed out loud too. 💬 Have you ever had an office romance? . . Today I finished The Boyfriend Project by @farrahrochon and it was so fun! I’m always down for a good office romance story. I really enjoyed these characters and how passionate they were, especially when it came to their jobs. I also liked the whole premise of three girls bonding over the conduct of a loser guy. GO LADIES! I’m so excited for more from these characters. I love companion novels! . Thank you to @librofm for gifting me the audiobook copy! I highly recommend going the audio route with this one. After reading Four Letter Word I said Wild and Trouble were my favorite. Then I read Hit the Spot and declared Loser and Legs were my favorite. Now here I am, having just finished Bad for You, and all I have to say is Shay and Stitch are LIFE!!!!! I didn't think anything could top the first two books in this series for me, but this one just accomplished that feat. I'm blown away. Gone. Consider me beat. This couple is everything. . Shay and Stitch have that kind of chemistry we can only dream about. Despite being complete opposites, these two are so perfect for each other. Poor Stitch has had a difficult past, yet has come such a long way to being a better person. I just couldn't help but fall hard for this sexy chef. Shay was quirky and funny and just such a little spitfire! I absolutely adored her and would give anything to know her in person. This hairstylist has a heart of gold and a personality to match it. I couldn't help but fall HARD for these two, both separately and together. . If you haven't read J. Daniels' yet, please do yourself a favor and remedy that asap. Though these books don't have to be read in order (they are standalone companion novels) I highly suggest you do read them in order since you meet the characters early-on. Plus they're all amazing. This has quickly become one of my favorite series EVER! . I finished reading A Map for Wrecked Girls by Jessica Taylor the other day. I did enjoy it quite a bit, though I had a few issues with it. Mainly with the characters themselves. I never really connected with any of them on a substantial level. I did enjoy the story quite a bit though. And even though the beginning was on the slower side, I thought the rest of the story had a great pace and kept me entertained til the end. It's a fun end-of-summer read for sure. My Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ . 💬 Do you prefer ebooks, physical books or audiobooks? . I love all of them and read them all equally. I usually have one of each going at all times. . I just finished Wild at Heart and ahhhh!!! It was so good!!! Another fantastic read by the amazing @katucker_!! Wild at Heart is book 2 in the Wild Series. It was so great to get back to the gorgeous Alaskan setting! And getting to see more of Calla and Jonah was an added plus! I love this entire group of characters. As with all of KA Tucker’s characters, they’re all so unique and real. I feel like I know them all personally. Calla and Jonah’s romance was so fun too. Johan is rough and tough and always says it like it is. To see the chemistry and adorable banter between him and Calla was so fun!! I’m really hoping there’s more to this series!! . 💬 What was your last five-star read? . My last 5-star read was #DowntoDeep by @authorjdaniels!! This book, you guys!! It encompassed so many tropes that I love, including slow-burn romance, single parents, and opposites attract! I loved the connection between, not only Nathan and Jenna, but between each of them and the children as well. I loved seeing their relationship grow, and how they learned, with the help of each other, how to be the people they ultimately wanted to be and achieve their dream of being part of a family. 💬 What was the last book you read this month? . I just finished listening to the audiobook of From Twinkle, With Love by @sandhyamenonbooks and it was so cute! I didn’t love it as much as When Dimple Met Rishi, but it was still a solid read. It reads quite a bit younger than Dimple, which is probably why I didn’t prefer it. But it was full of cuteness and fluff, and it was definitely a fun read. If you enjoy adorable YA stories about finding love, navigating friendships, and doing what’s right in tough situations, give this one a read! 🤓🖤📖 . This brought my February reading total to seven.
