GOD that post I just reblogged about how Succession is cracking something open on Imogen and especially the solstice lead up because it really is about how, once the words are out of her mouth and she says "well what if the Vanguard are right", there's a tension! There's a tension that wouldn't be there if she didn't have doubts, if she didn't have a pull - literally a blood tie in more ways than one - to the Vanguard, and so the choice she makes actually matters, and we as an audience can see her struggle with it and say "there is a way to decide to do what's right and stand by the people who made this possible rather than repeating the cycle (Liliana leaves her family/Imogen doesn't) and yet you still will feel a pull to that past. Maybe even a constant one and a strong one, at least for a while, and you'll wonder if you did the right thing." And all that disappears if you refuse that tension and believe it's impossible for people to make the "wrong" or "bad" choice!

And more generally it's why so much of the discussion about other flawed characters is so terrible. Who cares if Essek is a good or bad person in a vacuum, this isn't asking that, it's asking "what might make people change? What if you didn't ruin your life entirely and you can live it out, even if the consequences will always remain with you? What if other people like you believe the same thing? What if you could undo it? What if you didn't?" and both sides, those that jump to eternal condemnation of him for war crimes against pretend people, or the idea he is good because of some endless hypothetical journey of penance, miss out on that. That's why Percy is a good (in the sense of interesting and well-done fiction, not morality) character: because he's set up to answer the question "who would be so desperate as to introduce a horrible tool into the world, and what might that look like for them" and here's the thing, do you really believe that if Ripley hadn't got away that guns wouldn't have still gotten out in some way? That the secret would have died with Percy? But he's young and horribly traumatized and thinks he can control this and that also makes us think, and when he straight up asks a god if he's good or bad for doing it she says that's not the point. Redemption arcs aren't about who deserve them and that argument is moot. They're about who is offered them, and who takes that opportunity and who rejects it, and what might happen.

And to be clear I do like talking about the morality of characters - not in an abstract black and white This is Good and This is Bad, because those things are contextual, but in terms of harm to the other pretend people in the story, and intent, and efforts made, because that's fun. But god like. I have blorbos, I absolutely have blorbos, and I'll make my share of jokes about people who never did anything wrong in their life, but I think that's why I am so repulsed by the blorbo-ification that involves scooping up your special guy and sticking them in a mason jar terrarium and judging them solely on those qualities because they're part of the story. They're part of the story! They're here because (as I yelled in the tags of that post) it's really fucking hard to relate to the abstract concept of breaking the cycle, and very easy to relate to the person trying to escape. Characters are just part of the gedankenexperiments good fiction is setting up, which brings me to the other weird thing that's fueling all of this which is this excerpt of The Infinite Playground:

"Physicists, for example, contribute to a different aspect of our reality than, for another example, fiction writers. When physicists make an assumption, like the universe being a hologram, they know they can't prove it, but they can assume it and see what happens as a result. Fiction writers like to assume things and then pretend those things are real. Both connect us to through the imagination, but one must, out of the necessity of their mission, substantiate their work through their understanding and the observations of their peers; the others, the artists and planners and politicians, are not so much into substantiation as they are into becoming part of a shared belief, a community of believers, one might say."

Like the most important part about fiction is that you can prove things from the text, sure, and you should use evidence for inferences, but moral rightness isn't really a provable thing, and the point in the end isn't, well, to prove a point. It's to say I hope the poison doesn't drip through, I hope the venom in your veins is not inborn but can slowly wear off or even be purged, I hope the brokenness isn't irreparable or at least that it does not mean the building has to be abandoned and demolished, at least not for a while. And some stories exist to explore what happens when that hope is realized, and some to explore what happens when it isn't, and the characters are just the pins on which to hang it, and you're supposed to care about them in both of them.

this got so long i'm sorry lol. that post about jonathan hurting steve just reminds me of my number one issue w steve and jonathan/nancy becoming closer which is that the onus is almost always placed on steve to make amends and take that first step w/little to no emphasis on that effort being reciprocated. like, steve apologizes to jonathan for everything in s1 (as he should) and saves his life twice. whether or not you think jonathan should apologize for how intense the fight got is up for debate (i would just like acknowledgement of how seriously he did/almost did hurt steve) but steve def deserves an apology for 1)the photos (which he never got - obv he broke the camera but then he also bought jonathan a new one all w no actual apology to steve on jonathan's part, it wasn't only nancy's privacy he invaded) 2) the fact that he slept w nancy knowing she and steve were still together (which he literally verbally acknowledges when nancy says she waited for him or w/e). that second one obv also goes for nancy bc she also doesn't apologize to steve for leading him on for a year while having feelings for someone else then cheating on him. this isn't me saying jancy are terrible ppl and entirely unsympathetic (nancy is obv v traumatized and struggling w barb's death tho this does not excuse the way she treated steve) but they both did some fucked up shit to steve that ppl rarely make them acknowledge or even feel bad for, which creates a v unbalanced dynamic imo.

So this might just be curating different fandom experiences, but I don't personally see a ton of Steve being the one who has to make amends in fandom or Jonathan and Nancy not having introspection on their pasts. In canon I totally see that though, and it's a lot. Like I think they're all just really human, which I love. They fuck up, and they mistrust, and they have to learn and grow into being close. It isn't automatic.

I think like.......here's my thought process. Apologies are nice. Apologies are good. The right thing to do is always to apologize if you feel like you've wronged someone.

But I also think Steve wouldn't accept it.

Okay I'm putting the rest under a read more because I'm going on a little meta rant on Steve Jonathan Nancy and why apologies are a complicated thing for them and ultimately not what any of them really need.

First Steve because he's my blorbo. Steve is a really interesting character. He has this veneer of extreme self confidence that hides a really soft core of a person that ultimately experiences a significant amount of rejection. He has this brittle exterior that's bitchy and snarky and gives as good as it gets, but things touch him in a deeper way that I think is easy for a lot of people to ignore. I could totally see Jonathan awkwardly trying to bring things up to maybe try and apologize only for Steve to be like nah man we're fine! It didn't work out no biggie, I'm aok, you guys work together and we didn't.

Steve is constantly searching for validation and love (Implied because his parents are neglectful or at the very least have an extremely bad marriage that would be enough to add layers to anything) I think that the bullshit conversation really impacted Steve in a significant way, but if he shared that, then he's leaving himself vulnerable to getting hurt again, so he would do everything in his power to truly make everyone think he's okay, even potentially making himself think he's okay too, when deep down he isn't.

I alsoooo don't really think that Nancy or Jonathan necessarily feel bad. If Steve is pushing so hard to say he isn't hurt, then eventually I could see them not thinking too hard on it. Jonathan because in canon they aren't really friends obviously (Which is a goddamn travesty by the way I wrote an entire series of fics because I hated that they weren't friends) and Nancy because Nancy is an extremely self focused person.

Not selfish. I think it's important to make the distinction between selfish and self-focused. I don't think she's intentionally doing things to hurt the people around her for her own gain, but she thinks about how things effect her and how things impact her first and foremost. Not even just with Steve, but with everyone. A good example of this is in season three when she cost Jonathan his job too with her sleuthing. Her boyfriend who is in a very bad financial situation at home and could have really used a job that actually pertained to his interests and might have lead to future relationships in his industry. She didn't feel bad about that, she was too focused on the injustice to her. Even something as simple as never knocking when he's in the dark room and ruining his pictures over and over.

She just doesn't think about other people, which makes sense! She's a teenager, she's a privileged person, and she's smart as all hell. She gets extremely focused on doing the 'right' thing (according to her rules and her mind because she knows she's smart and thinks she's the smartest in the room always) and she misses doing the best thing a lot of the time.

For Steve, someone who is clearly extremely not self focused-which is also not a great way to be because extremes never are- and Jonathan- Someone who has been forced to put his family first his entire life- that is always going to be a point of conflict in her relationships with them.

But I don't know if we've ever seen Nancy give a genuine apology in the show, and I honestly doubt we ever would. It's not in her character really. But! Regardless of all of that, apology isn't really the end goal. Saying your sorry shouldn't be the end of something. I would much rather see Nancy Steve and Jonathan grow into people with more empathy and ability to own up to their shit/call people out on their stuff in the future rather than rehashing their past again. Unfortunately I have a feeling season five is gonna be a lot of rehashing lmaoooo

The way you write Ingo and Akari's interactions with each other never fails to warm my heart. And after seeing how he is with Rei in oop, I'm so excited to see how Emmet interacts with Akari. And let's not forget how your Cyllene is with Rei, and how she considers him Her Boy. I just love the intergenerational relationships you have going on. Kids deserve to have good adults in their lives, especially ones like Akari and Rei who have had it so rough.

There are... a lot of things I don't like about many interpretations of Emmet in fandom, but one I especially dislike is when he's overly rude or dismissive towards the kids. You avoid that trap neatly, though that's no surprise because the way you write him is one of my all time favorites. That's maybe a bit beside the point though.

In any case, I loved the little prompt snippets you wrote yesterday about Ingo with both Akari and Rei. The one you wrote with Rei was both cool and heartbreaking with how his dedication and care was the only thing keeping him going, all so Rei might have the chance to live. And the one Akari was so sweet and heartwarming, with how gentle his love for her was. She doesn't know it, but Ingo's home isn't a place, like her it's the people he cares about, and she's included in that too now. In this au where he's so close to her, it wouldn't be complete without her there.

YEAH re: kids deserving Good Adults. tbh whenever i see a kid on their own in fiction it activates some kind of primal pack bonding instinct in me to protect them, so this is like, vicarious parenting. and i just REALLY like characters who are Good With Kids, it's like one of my fav character traits that makes me instantly love them. and i love all the different ways that can come through, like, like you said, cyllene who isn't so great at saying how she feels but has SO adopted these two. so. yes. this is primarily self indulgent. it all comes back to my love of picking apart character motivations lol

also WHO is making emmet not nice to kids. i'll fight them. i'll duel them in the street right now. why is everyone else so WRONG about my BLORBO. i think- not to Also get sidetracked, lol, but- i think emmet is someone who's extremely straightforward with everything he says, and doesn't back down, but the critical thing is that all that blunt directness and stubbornness is backed by an intense motivation to help and protect others. so that's what i'm trying to channel when he's with rei or anyone else—specifically because he doesn't try to hedge his words or anything, it is so obvious at all times that he Cares and wants to Help. which can be like, intensely validating/reassuring/trust-building. like short and direct and not good at subtlety don't have to be negative asshole-building character traits!! ...but uhh anyway what were we talking about again

ingo ficlets right. YEAHH THANK YOU... i think in comparison to emmet ingo is like. actually good with people, in the sense that he can read peoples' emotions from their words and actions much better, and is very understanding and patient. and obviously he's also driven by that same compassion. trying really hard not to just make this about comparing how i characterize them both ANYWAY. and i am giving him the Parenting Instincts, lol, which, i think he has an immediate reaction of "oh i need to help you" when he sees anyone who's lost/hurt/confused, but it's stronger with kids bc they obviously tend to have less ability to support themselves. so with akari in the adoption fic i keep gesturing towards and Not Finishing, and rei in the ficlet who got separated from his usual crew, he just adopts them very quickly lol. (there's also something to be said there for how i usually write amnesiac-ingo as having a kind of busted self-perception, as we've covered, so he's outsourcing his motivation and desire to continue living to others, which is sort of a Not Great aspect of this, but uhh that's getting sidetracked again)

anyway YEAH!! his home is his loved ones!! yessss exactly!! you have it spot on, i think in that snippet after akari brings it up he does have that thought of, all he has to judge his "home" by is a vague vibe that it was good and he misses it. what if it isn't as perfect as his non-memory thinks it is? what if it can't/won't make space for akari? in which case i think that despite how much he misses it, he would be fully prepared to walk out of it for her. because like you said, his home isn't a place, it's the people!! so if akari can't belong there, then it isn't his home, either. (not that it would ever come to that in reality)

so. yes. as you can probably tell i could go on about this subject forever. just adhd tangent after tangent about kids, and the ways they get treated, and what it says about characters, and character motivations in general, and bitching about how my blorbo gets misinterpreted. but. my point is. this was a very nice ask i am going to print it out and tape it in my diary thank you

Now you asked for my thoughts on Susato:

Susato is probably one of my favorite characters in the whole game. She’s so unique to most assistants (most games try to have the quirky upbeat assistant which often gets the “Maya clone” label, and even if I think that’s dumb and not the characters fault but the writing team and Capcoms fault for its mysoginistic writing choices, and also ‘Maya clone” is a dumb thing cause they are different), but she’s far more mature (we will get into that one..) but still has her various quirks, her very fun moments and she’s really fucking cool.

She’s great! She has so many cool little hobbies, such as martial arts and how she loves the Sherlock Holmes stories and is a little fan girl, how she genuinely has a big interest in law, and is really smart and just such a pleasant character with all her fun details. How she dresses up as a boy to save a friend and how loyal she is. How she has done stuff like tamper with a crime scene and evidence despite being so well versed in law. Augh. Her interactions with others are so fun; she should throw more ppl it’s funny.

Okay now that I’ve gushed about her. I feel like she is done dirty in the game. In terms of things that she goes through vs how much time she gets to spend on it vs other characters? Like her father left for england when she was born and had to shuffle back into her life 6 years later, her brother died and her literal idol FAKED HIS DEATH?? And she grieved him and he wasn’t dead her blorbo from the books just lost his still alive injured body in Hong Kong. Her father fakes an illness making her spend a month an a half on a boat for him not to be sick. That same brother was gonna take her to England on his assassination mission. What was she gonna do when he killed a man?? Idk!! She goes through it!!

And yet. And yet it’s like. Ah yes Susato our forgiving queen who doesn’t have any harsh angry feeling to anyone. Wow! So kind! Like I feel like she deserves to be angrier and meaner cause she gets a lot of things done to her that the male characters get to have moments about? Fucking absent parents is an ace attorney staple and it’s just kinda like. Well let’s brush it off now and let her kinda hang out while we talk to someone else! And I think there’s just some issues with the writing in general I did see a post that I will never find again. That made a good point how some of the later reveals would have been better if it were not Ryunouske who was the one to be confronting ppl or finding/revealing certain bits of info but do to Main Characterisms. And it might have hit harder if it were Susato or even Asogi due to familial ties in the story. I wish I could find the post they lay it out better

And I’m not gonna pretend this is Just a Susato problem cause alot of female characters tend to get the short end of the stick in ace attorney games. Think of the trilogy! Maya and Edgeworth go through very similar traumas and yet the writing let’s Edgeworth go through it while Maya doesn’t get the same treatment. She’s the assistant she doesn’t have time to grieve her absent now dead mom. She’s making quips and eating burgerramen!! Same happens with Susato.

But overall I Love Susato. I have a few post canon AUs where she finally gets to have her issues be front and center. They aren’t fleshed out they are just a few drawings ideas I have that work and my dumb wrist issues have been preventing. I complain a lot but I do love her DEARLY… best assistant. Best Dgs character. Underrated by everyone

Alright, so:

7 (who is my favorite author (canon/fanon)

Listen, I'm a prick. I'm sorry. But I have to say Stan Lee. This man was a story telling genius who helped invent not just some of the best characters ever made, not just stories that (in my opinion) are the closest we've gotten to Shakespeare (if you know how to read Shakespeare and know how silly the man was) , but also invented a lot of the techniques used even to this day. His stories of hope and heroism ring true to this day. The X-Men stand as one of the greatest minority stories made because of how real they feel. I'm not a Marvel fan anymore but Stan Lee was was far more than Marvel, even if marvel was little more than Stan Lee.

5 who is the best comic book sibling relationship?

Ooh... See... According to the incorrect side of the fandom, it's Cassteph. But they aren't siblings they're dating. But if you believe they're sisters then it's them.

For real though, I have like, a couple.

The non-canon siblings: Bruce-Barbara. I see these two as borderline seeing eachother as siblings in my head canon. Sane way people sometimes say Dick and Bruce are closer to that relationship. I think Bruce and Babs working together the way they do, supporting eachother and the rest of the Batfamily... I like them.

The canon siblings: I think from the real ones, (slight stretch again. Oops) Jason and Barbara. The New 52 leant into this, from what I've read and I love Jason sitting there, hating the world, having a billion problems, but thinkkng "Barbara. I can't disappoint her." And Barbara being able to be the big sister to this gang lord who won't listen to anyone but her... Beautiful I love it I write Jason in fanfiction as having a fake id of "Jason Gordon" to allow him to live normal life. Also, to continue rambling, the fact that Jason sits there, this pile of muscle with brains to rival Bruce and he still refuses to look down on Barbara because he knows she's just awesome. I love them.

1 favorite character and why?

Oh fuck ... So many to choose from. I have all my obscure blorbos, Annie, Ace, Carrie, etc. But then there's Cassandra and Jason! And these are just the Batman picks! From other comics I adore Speedball, nightthrasher, midnights fire, and Silhouette from Marvel's "The New Warriors" back in the 80's

I think overall though it's either Cassandra or Jason. These characters are both so interesting and have so much yet untapped potential. Cassandra being this gifted child who's far to good at what she does who simply doesnt understand failure. Her need to save people. Her relationship with the family, her relationship with her definitely girlfriend Stephanie Brown just... Ahhhh

But then, Jason, who is an amazing look at what a lethal batman might look like. He's this awesome combatant who is a super genius and has an awesome team of friends called the outlaws. But he's not just the Punisher for DC, he's even had multiple side kicks! Duela Dent, who he saved from the Joker despite her being a villain, and Scarlett. There's so much depth to him I'm to tired to talk on rn but I love him too.

But in my heart of hearts it's Ace of Spades/Annie Hagen (both DCAU) but that's just kinda a "blorbo from my shows" deal where I think they deserved more screen time (and maybe a last name change to "Wayne" each) I love these tragic girlies and I forever will. I'm wanting to write AU's where they're adopted so badly (I have the Annie one started actually, oops)

hehehehehehe wende (any pronouns) time!!! to give a bit of context i'll do a, b and c first and then i'll get into answering further questions abt her (:

A) Why are you excited about this character?

Wende is fucking wild. Combined with the system and the relationship map we've created, there's so much angst, drama, and chaos to uncover that I'm just itching to get in there. Monday shall be the day. The day where we discover how bad Wende's drug use actually is, why the guy she assassinated is back (he's an android but she doesn't know that), and maybe even what is in their future with their changeling partner... Also they're named after a performer I really like and I think that's neat uwu

B) What inspired you to create them?

He kind of just kind of... spawned? I joined some friends for a season of Hillfolk Dramasystem and I rolled the last slot on deciding what my character would be, and thus got to be the first person to connect to all other characters. And when the player who went in front of me decided his character would be a politician, the concept of 'guess Wende is just going to be a refugee on the run for having tried to murder the politician-guy'. And it all went downhill from there. It's hilarious.

C) Did you have trouble figuring out where they fit in their own story?

Not really, to be honest. The point of the Hillfolk system is to create conflicts and relationships between characters and that is the core of the system. Wende's story is bound to change drastically (their drug addiction came from another player's reason why her character couldn't fulfill Wende's want). Her story isn't mine, it's everyone's, as his purpose is to be a vehicle, which is a refreshing take between all the chaos in my brain regarding Vampire :3

So now that that is out of the way: here's questions abt Wende and their answers!! :D

3. How do they put themselves to bed at night (reading, singing, thinking?)

Due to their position on the space ship they're on being... not intended... per se... Wende's night routine is pretty simple. Get into bed, try to move as little as possible, and wait for the sweet sweet darkness to take her for a couple of hours. That final step is harder than one might expect, because their brain is always on some other type of shit and stopping the endless onslaught of thoughts for long enough to actually fall asleep is not something they're specifically good at.

13. What color do they think they look best in? Do they actually look best in that color?

They prefer darker colours because of his profession, but they shine in lighter colours. There's no way Wende is admitting to this, and she'll probably only wear lighter shades when prompted by their partner.

Ikemen Vampire - The One That Got Me Into This Mess

Blorbo - Definitely Arthur. I’ve probably explained the storyTM before but basically Arthur’s my fav for three reasons. One because I just find him painfully relatable at moments (not all the time tho thankfully oh boy); two I think we’d be relatively compatible; and three I was reading the story, getting into it, when I hit a chapter where Arthur screams. And holy shit the VA just went for it (note this VA also voices Childe cause my favs are a flat circle apparently). Anyways I was so blown away by how raw it was my respect points went up by 10k and Arthur’s spot as fav was cemented.

Scrunkly - Isaac. My boy. My baby. He’s just out here trying his best dealing with the fact he’s got the vampire equivalent of anemia mixed with feral boy energy (that sounds cringey I’m sorry Isaac). Look he’s just a painfully shy man with unquenchable bloodlust and the feeling of being permanently separated from humanity because of it. Can a person not want to hug this man and give him all the love? Anyways he’s baby.

Scrimblo bimblo - Uhhhh. I don’t remember the popularity rankings tbh but I think Vincent is overlooked for Theo which honestly I don’t get. Theo’s just a right dick half the time and is definitely better in fanon than canon. Meanwhile Vincent is just a himbo. A himbo with trauma but still a himbo. He deserves to be the more appreciated brother my dude asks permission for every step in the relationship, doesn’t have a death wish, does act like an ass to the MC. I mean to be fair I like Theo well enough, but again. Vincent is better. Sorry lol don’t kill me please

Glup shitto - Claudia (I think that was her name) from Saint-Germain’s route. This route is out here passing the Bechdel test via kidnapping. We love to see it. (Anyways yeah 10/10 I know she’s not a love interest but I’d court her if she’d let me). Sorry if your name’s not Claudia idk man. Also was gonna put her as scrimblo bimblo but this is a much better category.

Poor little meow meow - Charles. He is so pathetic but he also has one of the best character designs. The only fanon I’ve seen is kinda sad and not the best but his route ain’t out yet so who knows. If he is just a kinda pathetic horny man then I guess I’ll just have to admire from like 300 meters away. He’ll still be poor little meow meow though lmao.

Horse plinko - Theo cause he irritates me lmao. He could take some tormenting. He can handle it.

Eeby deeby - Mozart is getting chucked right to superhell. If you aren’t Tom Hulce in the 1984 masterpiece Amadeus I don’t want your Mozart.

Alternatively if it’s for gay crimes William and Vincent and Leonardo and Saint-Germain are getting chucked headfirst into that elevator because you can tell me Leonardo and Saint-Germain were never lovers in their centuries of existence together, I just won’t believe you.

Ikemen Sengoku - The Best Written One

Blorbo - Kenshin. Oh my… Kenshin. I’ve become so enamored with this idiot that seeing him in other routes makes me smile like a maniac. Here I was prepared to endure Kenshin’s route cause he’s supposed to be a yandere and instead I get… a complex (for an otome game don’t get me wrong this isn’t Virginia Woolf or anything) look at mental illness, trauma, and relationships??? What?? MC actively admitting she thought she could ‘fix him’ but she doesn’t cause he immediately spirals? Good writing? Anyways I’ve accepted my status as Kenshin simp. Rip, maybe I do have bad taste.

Scrunkly - Yukimura prolly? Like not all the time but he’s definitely the one that has the most cuteness aggression moments. This poor man is just trying to survive at this point surrounded by murder hobos and that’s really funny. Also he’ll just believe anything. Idiot (affectionate). Note I haven’t read his route so idk but until then (and maybe after) he is scrunkly

Scrimblo bimblo - Nobunaga. Which sounds weird right since his face is on the thing basically, but I think the first route guys tend to be overlooked or seen as boring. Which fair but look this route got me into Go/Baduk and now I play through NHK games on my board on a semi-regular basis and want to find a Go club so I gotta give him props. Also I do like his character even if he’s also a total ass he has good moments.

Glup shitto - Kyubey. Now admittedly I was ready to despise him when I first read his name because, y’know, being meguca is suffering and all. But honestly Kyubey goes through so much shit he deserves appreciation. Mitsuhide better be paying this man a lot.

Poor little meow meow - Kennyo is textbook meow meow. My dude is in like every route trying to get his revenge and he just never succeeds. He also feels guilty about it like 97% of the time but is like “my comrades… revenge…” how about you go back to being a monk so your comrades can go to the afterworld without worrying about your sorry ass. I do appreciate him tho.

Horse plinko - …Yukimura. Or Kenshin. Or Nobunaga. Idk it’d just be funny to see how any of the characters reacted to my personality I think they’d find it obnoxious (I think I’m fabulous tho).

Eeby deeby - Hideyoshi. Is it because his historical counterpart tried to invade what is now Korea? Yes. Am I being petty? Yes. He’s still going to super hell

For gay crimes it’s Kenshin and Shingwn cause who doesn’t love enemies/rivals to we’re living in the same house and only I can really explain to others what you’re feeling (excluding MC in their respective routes but even then).

Ikemen Revolution - The one I’m least familiar with

Blorbo - Edgar. Cause what’s a little murder between evil uncle and manipulated nephew and a family legacy of personal assassins for the king? Look idk man Edgar’s route just hits different. He’s definitely the most compelling so far.

Scrunkly - Luka. I don’t think Luka would survive my middle school. Someone keep this man away from me cause he blushes at everything. He is spiritually baby. Protect this idiot.

Scrimblo bimblo - Uh idk Edgar again? Again I forget popularity polls but he’s not the top three… right? (Watch me be wrong). Otherwise maybe Zero? Underrated.

Glup shitto - I know Mousse has a route I think but so far I’ve only seen him in the prologue. This man seems totally spaced and or half asleep from what I remember and I respect that.

Poor little meow meow - Uhhh. Idk. Whichever twin is least popular because that’s funny (I’m sorry lol)

Horse plinko - Jonah for being a bit of a pompous ass. I liked his route a lot but I think if you stuck us in a room together it would not end well. Someone’s going home wondering who Marx is and it ain’t me

Eeby deeby - Lancelot. Cool motive still threatening to murder MC, multiple kidnappings of MC, generally being a controlling asshole, wiping MC’s memory against her wishes, not telling people his plans cause he has a martyr complex. You get it. I actually kind of softened towards him at the end of his route but flash forward to beginning of next route and I immediately want to punch him. MC should not have let him off the hook so easily in like all the roots. I deserve to throw Lancelot into super hell.

Ikemen Prince - The New OneTM

Blorbo - So again this one is new and I’ve only played 2.5 routes so far (sorry Leon) but I’d say rn Nokto or Luke, though Jin is fun to read for events cause I am trash. Nokto is prolly my sole fav. I just have a lot of thoughts and emotions about this idiot and I even outlined and started writing a fic for him, one that will never get posted prolly. He’s got a lot of potential and he’s just kinda compelling. Idk. I like him. Yes he is a bit like arthur stfu.

Scrunkly - Honestly none of them really, but if I had to pick prolly Yves. Man is just trying his best to express his emotions after years of rejection cause of his birth and if that doesn’t activate ‘protect’ what will. He is a tsundere though so points lost for that rip (lol sorry I don’t like tsunderes much).

Scrimblo bimblo - Silvio maybe? Idk he seems the least talked about of act two. Admittedly I have nothing to go off of him really but his character design but it is an 11/10 design so…. he’ll prolly be my act two favorite when it comes out in like two years lol (no shade I am in awe with how quickly Cybird releases their games and their English versions I hope staff is getting paid and treated well).

Glup shitto - The bookstore owner. His employees really just disappear into the night but when they come back he gives them back their jobs no questions asked. Respect. (I could also be remembering circumstances wrong but shhhh).

Poor little meow meow - Uhhh idk. I mean I do feel for Rio he is a bit of a meow meow but he’s not my fav. Nokto has meow meow vibes tbh I’ll go with it.

Horse plinko - Chevalier cause he’s irritating. It’s funny cause I expected to like him more than I did, but I underestimated his pompous attitude. So I’d make fun of him, in that Lizzy Bennet Darcy way expect I wouldn’t marry him I’d just talk smack. It’s okay we both like reading he’ll spare my life or whatever (I’m tired lol).

Eeby deeby - Sariel. Man activates my fight or flight instincts I swear. Like his character design is Like That.

Uhh for gay crimes they’re brothers so lol no. I guess the old king for being a manwhore and also a tyrant. He can’t mansplain or manipulate his way out of this one either.

Eurydice. I love her cozy little kitchen in the middle of the phlegethon and I cannot Help but sing along when I happen to come across her.
