my thoughts on The Umbrella Academy S2 [spoilers ahead]

so putting all my thoughts down was really hard. i decided to do it per character instead of like per appearance/episode - sorry if this is kinda hard to follow. this is also VERY LONG... hence the keep reading but here is a small taste -

he really overestimates his ability to time-travel

she told those men that she blew their mind + their heads literally blew up - mine about did too

FIVE

he really overestimates his ability to time-travel

k - he really needs to learn to TALK to his siblings more

but also he needs to work on his talking skills...

seeing five just mass murder people is highly amusing because he’s in the body of a 13yr old

also but how soft five was with vanya - i cry

i wanted a mention of dolores but alas only klaus remembered

though i did enjoy the continued coffee obsession - even if it was subtle

ALLISON

she told those men that she blew those their mind + their heads literally blew up - mine about did too

the second she walked into that diner - i was pAniCKing

the way those women were READY to throw down when allison ran into their shop - we stan them all (one of them was wielding a piping hot curling iron)

her husband ray is the sweetest of men + just what she needed before having to go back to twentieth century/glamour

i really liked the way they showed the consequences of allison using her powers - how she quickly slips back into bad habits. how it makes her into someone she doesn’t like

i’m really glad they didn’t forget claire - i was gonna be mad if she wasn’t mentioned

LUTHER

i stan luther hargreeves + i run the luther hargreeves protection squad cuz all of you are meanies who like to blame him for everything when in reality the real problem is their father

controversial opinion that i will be making a much larger post on but i ship allison x luther - they aren’t biologically related, they were only raised as siblings, there is 0% wrong with them falling in love

luther didn’t bother me in s1 like he did all y’all but that’s cause i’m mature enough to realize all of the siblings are fucked up - so the fact they made him more likeable this season is so nice. maybe ya’ll will take a chill pill on your luther hate-train

it was very interesting seeing luther so apathetic for the first bit of the season, when he had such a hero-complex last season

listen his talk with vanya in the barn was amazing - some people might be upset about the gun but the last time any of them saw her she had just blown up the fucking moon mkay?

he apologized for failing as a brother

for not being there

and he even said he didn’t care if vanya was bullshitting him

last thing - luther underestimating his self-importance now because of how he overestimated his self-importance in s1. i love that psychological circle

DIEGO

him being in the nuthouse makes perfect sense - i won’t lie

his role-reversal with luther this season was so *chef’s kiss*

TEAM ZERO *gives diego the fist-bump he deserved*

the moment lila slapped him when he leaned in for a kiss was the funniest shit ever - ‘i don’t understand you’ - then she kisses him - i was cackling

she gave him so much shit + i love that about her

when reginald yelled at him + it made his stutter come back for the fist time since he was a kid - FEELINGS

so in that last battle when diego redirected those bullets - that’s a power of his in the comics isn’t it? or is that just his power? projectile redirection? cause that was a confusing ass way to introduce that. just saying

him interacting with grace this season was like... hard cuz it’s not really her

KLAUS

the fact he made a cult is just so... klaus

he very much so looks like a hippie jesus

i’m kinda glad they showed him relapse because in a lot of media once someone gets clean it’s all butterflies + roses + unicorns out the ass. in reality - relapses happen

the family still isn’t very nice to klaus but we can work on that - they are better than before. it’s a work in progress

klaus trying to stop dave from dying but instead moving up his enlistment date

that diner scene made me hurt

BEN

the fact he is so over getting klaus out of things - I'M So tIrED oF YouR shIt Klaus

WE GOT KLAUS’S LEVITATING ABILITY BUT IT WAS JUST BEN AND I LOVE THIS ADLGFJGKLSDFJG

when the two of them were just fighting on the side of the road - i cackled

ben being the one to talk vanya down? what we deserved

i can’t wait for jackass alive ben next season

VANYA

poor girl is awake for a whole ass 5 seconds before getting hit by a car

i really thought vanya was pretending to have amnesia

may i say that s1 vanya dressed far too gay to be heterosexual + s2 vanya did not disappoint

as a gay i appreciate the fact the writers heard all of us saying vanya is 100% gay + being like ‘ok sure’

it makes me kinda sad how happy vanya was with no memories vs s1

her connection with harlan was just so - amazing

also, i think harlan always had powers + that’s why vanya was able to pull a moses at the lake + jesus harlan back to life

i liked sissy. i also liked how she gave us a glimpse into a very realistic thing that used to happen to women who loved women. they would marry men because it was the norm. they’d also have affairs.

and her choice to stay was one made by a good mother - she was putting harlan first. every good mom puts their child first. even if they so desperately want to be selfish.

in good news - vanya now knows she likes vagina!

the fact they legit used LSD on vanya while she was being electrocuted was A LOT

seeing inside vanya’s mind was super interesting - especially when she remembered + how she was trapped inside the white violin

she wanted to die - let’s all take that in for a second

she ASKED for her siblings help + they didn’t disappoint for ONCE

her POWER at the farm... she leveled an ARMY

MISC.

i stan herb + elliot

the handler is super conniving - i wasn’t expecting to dislike her this much

ngl i was rooting for fish-man

lila had me convinced she was crazy the first half ngl - also i guessed she was one of their lost siblings when she first fought five

the three swedes weren’t as fun as hazel + cha-cha but still decent

reginald continues to be #worstDadever

anyone else a little confused why he peeled his face off? s1 flashback he was in human form on his home-planet but apparently it’s a mask???

we saw the original grace!!! she was just as perfect as the robot version too!

Ok, let me paused to write out a thought...

So a lot of people were worried about the cult thing and Klaus's intentions but it's clear he had no malicious intentions at all. He charmed and impressed some people for survival purposes and thrived, he enjoyed the love and attention at first and the cult just grew around around him organically whether he liked it or not, more a hippy cult of personality then a religious sect, but at some point he saw that it had gone too far, the pressure and expectation became too much and he realized he'd bitten more than he can chew.

It's actually rather sad how he just wants to escape but the cultists objectify him to all hell, he has no privacy or personal space. The problem with Klaus is that he doesn't do anything mildly, he always goes too big until he's drowning. Boy is already self-sabotaging and I'm sure he's going to start self-destructing very soon as well.

The family’s little secret - Part 2

The end of the part 1 was cut when i made some change. I’m putting it back there with part 2. Enjoy !

“The Police. They owned me one. Now, are you staying there ? I mean, it's been years, maybe she doesn't even live there anymore but it's up to you if you want to try.”

He didnt' have to ask twice, Klaus took his jacket and pushed Diego out.

“You need to drive.” “I know. My car is waiting.” “You're my favorite brother.”

He ignored Ben's hurtful look.

Two hours on the road and Diego was really close to killing Klaus now. He loved his brother and all, plus it was kinda normal that he felt like talking about all this, but he could never shut up.

“Oh god, I remember trying to climb the wall and join her but failed so she did it herself, and she was actually smaller than me. It was both embarassing and hilarious at the same time. Oh ! Oh ! Oh ! And this time when we almost got caught by dad you know ? So I just pushed her under the bed but I hit her head and she had a bruise for a week.”

Diego sighed heavily.

“Yeah, nice friendship you guys used to have. I may start being jealous now.” “Oh ! Come on ! She wasn't even mad.” “But she was crazy to go through all this shit for you.” “You're absolutly right. Can't you go faster ?” “I'm already driving too fast 'cause I can't stand you anymore.” “Thanks !”

Finally. Diego praised the Lord they finally made it. It was a big nice house, with a garden with many trees behind. No wonder, Dad must have gave them a lot of money, Diego thought. Klaus ran out of the car, jumped the barrier and started knocking on the door. When no one answered, he started to panick.

“Oh my god, what if she left ? What if I could never find her again ?”

Diego joined him and hit him on the head.

“It's her family name on the door. Even if she may not be living with her parents anymore, you could still ask them.”

“Oh damn you're right.”

A sudden bark made them look to the left and they saw a big german sheppard running toward them. The dog was probably mad they came here without being invited in the first place. Diego couldn't believe his eyes when he saw his brother starting to climb the wall.

“What on Earth are you doing ?” “Visiting.” “Wait, what ?” “I'll be right back !” “Klaus ! No way, get back here !”

It wasn't the first time that Klaus was doing something like this, he could see it. Diego ran back to the car, while Klaus made it to the rooftop and screamed with joy.

“(Y/N) !”

You didn't expect that. Especially since you were taking a bath with some chilling music in the background. This idiot almost made you have a heart attack. Through the window you could see a cheerful guy waving at you. You panicked, grabbed a towel and start yelling.

“What the hell ? Who are you ? Leave or I'll call the cops !”

The guy must have been a psycho for climbing that high.

“(Y/N) ! It's me !”

Wait. That voice. It was incredibly familiar.

“Oh god. Klaus ? Klaus fucking Hargreeves ?” “It's me sweetie ! Will you let me in ?”

You couldn't believe it. For sure, you missed that guy for years and dreamt about him coming back to you, but you grew up knowing it was impossible. You knew everything, how he forgot about you because of his dad and number 3's powers and after that, you tried your hardest to move on. You really did. Dated a few guys, traveled a lot to see new places. You even did some stuff you should never had but you were desperate. You never succeeded.

“It's been years, and you have to just come through the window, don't you ?”

You started opening it though, still clenching your towel with one hand. He jumped in and started hugging you. With absolutly no shame of the situation.

“Damn, you're red. Was that bath too hot ?” “Klaus. Let me get dressed.” “Alright.”

He wasn't moving at all. You sighed and pushed him.

“Get out ! I'll be right back.” “Oh, by the way, my brothers are downstairs. Ben doesn't need an invitation but can I open the door for Diego ?” “Sure. Just... Don't touch anything. It's not my house.” “Sure thing sweetie !”

Klaus helped Diego to come in, he opened the door and shouted for him to run in. Diego was already tired of this shit but felt like he didn't want to stay in his car anymore. He ran in front of the dog and they both crashed on the sofa.

“Are you gonna tell me what happened there ?”

Ben was laughing his ass off. Klaus never saw him like that.

“What is wrong with you ?“ “Poor girl, she didn't see it coming.” “Hey ! I'm sure she's happy too ?”

Diego punched him in the arm.

“That's rude ! You're ignoring me to talk to Ben and I don't understand anything !” “This idiot is laughing and I have no clue why, I want to know !”

Somehow, suddenly, Diego could see Ben.

“Klaus just interrupted the girl while she was taking a bath and wasn't ashamed at all to knock on the window.” “So what ? I missed her ! Well. I didn't know before today, but I did !”

Diego put his head in his hands.

“I don't even know how you could make friend in the first place.” “Hey ! I'm very lovable.” “In a weird way, he his.” Ben saied before vanishing again.

You took five whole minutes to catch your breath and think. Then you got dressed and waited to calm down. The very best friend you could never forget was back. He came all the way here to see you. How and why, you didn't know, but right now, you were struggling to stay sane. You wanted nothing more to go downstairs and jump in his arms but it's been a long time. What if you’ll never be friends like you were before ? You took a few more minutes to think about it before you decided you'd never get any answers if you stayed in your room. Your heart was beating really fast but you still made it to the kitchen, grabbing some stuff to eat and drink.

“Guys. You've come a long way, want anything ?”

Klaus answered first, excited as a kid.

“Coffee ! With a lot of sugar !”

You came through the opening of the door.

“Not sure you need sugar. You're already very... You.” “Thank you ! Coffee is disgusting without it though.” “Fine, you're still such a kid. Diego ?” “Same. Without the sugar please.”

You came back with the drinks and sat with them. After a few minutes of silence, Klaus finally started to talk.

“So ? How are you doing ? Still living with your parents ?” “I'm fine I guess. And no, they're on holidays, they needed someone to keep the dog.” “Which dog ?”

Diego almost spat out his coffee.

“Are you fucking kidding me ?”

The dog started barking outside, as if he was offended himself.

“Oh, that one !”

You started laughing. You got scared for nothing, you realised that. Klaus could never change, that was a fact.

“And you guys ? How've you been ?”

Diego wasn't sure why you were being so friendly with him too. He knew about everything, like his others siblings. They kinda felt responsible for what happened and never tried to make up for it sooner. He could understand why Klaus used to be very found of you and still was now.

“To be honest, I'm tired of this guy. Had to spend a few hours with him in the car so I might leave you two alone to catch up ? I'll get him back tonight.”

Klaus had the saddest look on his face, Diego was pretty sure it was just the same as a kid who was disappointed for Christmas. You smiled.

“It's ok Diego, that was very nice of you to bring him here. Not sure 4 hours or so will be enough though, I have many questions as well. What about you go back to the Umbrella Academy and he'll spend the night here ? Got my drivers licence, I'll drop him off tomorrow.”

Klaus was really close to jump in excitement. His brain didn't remember you, but his heart did, he was sure about it. It felt like being whole again. He hugged Diego, genuinely happy that he made all of this for him. He wasn't sure he could forgive the others this fast.

“Thanks.” “I'll see you tomorrow. You better behave !“ “Always !” “You mean never.” “Maybe.”

You gave him a nod. Number 2 could definitly see that you were happy as well but not really comfortable around him for the moment. That, he could understand. So he left, pretty proud of himself. “(Y/N) ?”

“Yes ?” “You didn't try to find me again after... The thing ? ”“You mean, when they made you forget about me ?” “Yep.” He didn't expect your reaction at all. You were smiling and laughing the second before and now, you had tears in her eyes. He felt guilty but didn't know why. “How can you ask me this ? I mean. I came back, you asked me who I was you know ? Damn, Klaus, that was fucking hard. I didn't even know how Allison's power was working. If I could help you to remember or if you just never could. I didn't even think it'll be possible that one day you'll come here ! I thought I'd never see you again.” After a few minutes of silence, he put an arm around you, suddenly very serious. “What a shitty dad I had.” You smiled. “Indeed. So. You must have plenty of stories and I want to hear every single one of them !” He started to think. “Mh. I need to tell you about the end of the world, oh and about Ben ! I can do stuff I never knew I could ! Oh and Dave. I wanna tell you about Dave.” “Was he your new bestfriend ?” “He was my bestfriend and my boyfriend !” You tried really hard to ignore that pain in your heart. For your friendships' sake, you had too. But he must have knew, because he added something.“But that was very different. You were my bestfriend and my girlfriend. I could paint my nails with you, he never agreed to that.” You punched him slightly in the arm. “What ?” “I was your girlfriend ?” “Oh. I thought you knew.” You were dumbfounded. “Klaus, you're an idiot.”

I was rewatching “Soulmates” and Leslie said she loves dogs, and I realized I REALLY want a fic where Leslie and Ben adopt a doggo together! Or one where Leslie gets a doggo without Bens input and then he has to discipline/spank her... that escalated quickly. Sorry

First of all - I LOVE THIS! Never ever change.

Second of all - I did write something, but it’s not very dirty I’m afraid, actually very family friendly, but it supports the headcanon I have that Ben and Leslie get a dog AND a cat.

Also I tied it in to fit with Star Wars Day.

“Are you sure this is a good idea?” Ben asked nervously as he watched the five beagle puppies happily running around their pen. “I mean, we’re constantly out of the house, the triplets might be allergic-”

“Ben, we’ve thought through every possibility and it’ll be fine. We can get dog sitters when we’re out of town, and the triplets will love the puppy. They’ve been fine whenever we’ve taken them to April and Andy’s, and they love Champion,” Leslie said, leaning down to pet the nearest puppy. “Oh I think I have my heart set on this one, he’s adorable.”

Leslie had been casually talking to one of the mothers at the triplets school one morning when she told her that her dog was expecting puppies, and how it was a bit of a shock. She then offered Leslie one of the puppies, and she thought it would be great to have an family pet, especially with the triplet being five now, it would be good to teach them to be responsible.

The puppy barked playfully and licked Leslie’s open palm. “Ben, he’s perfect. The triplets are going to love him.”

Ben looked down at the puppy. Ok, he was pretty adorable. The puppy had big floppy ears and sparkling puppy dog eyes.

He was pretty sure he was falling in love with the dog.

“Kids, get down here, we have a surprise,” Leslie called as they walked back into their house.

Ben was carefully holding the puppy in his arms, and the puppy was desperately trying to make a break for it, clearly not being a fan of being held.

The triplets all hurried down the stairs. It didn’t take long for one of them to notice the squirming puppy in Ben’s arms.

“Mommy!” Stephen squealed. “Is that a puppy? Is that our puppy?”

Leslie barely got out a ‘yes’ when all three children were hurrying towards Ben and fawning over the puppy.

Ben carefully set it down on the floor, and the puppy bounded from each triplet, unsure which one to go to. The puppy barked and excitedly licked Sonia’s face when she got too close.

“Alright, guys. We need to decide on a name for this little guy,” Ben said, crouching down and rubbing the puppy on the head.

All five of them bounced names around. Sonia was adamant that she wanted the puppy to be called ‘Princess’, while Stephen kept chanting ‘Monster’ over and over again.

“I think he should be called Patches.”

Ben looked over to his youngest son, who’d been pretty quiet during the naming. “What was that, Wes?”

“Patches,” Wesley said again. “He’s got brown patches on his back, see? Patches would be a good name for him.”

Sonia wrinkled her nose up, and looked at the puppy. “Huh. I guess Patches works.”

“Stephen, are you happy with Patches?” Ben asked his eldest son.

Stephen scowled. “I want him to be called Monster.”

“I know, buddy. Maybe Monster can be his nickname. He’ll definitely be a trouble maker,” Ben said, playfully patting the dog’s back end.

“I like Patches too,” Leslie said happily. “And I think he’ll be a great addition to the family.

Patches barked in agreement.

It had been three years since Leslie and Ben got Patches for the family, and having a dog was hard work, but amazingly rewarding.

Wesley always wanted to accompany Ben on the daily walks, which gave Ben and Wesley a chance to bond. Stephen would play with him in the garden and when he got tired, he’d snuggle up on Sonia’s bed with her.

Ben couldn’t imagine life without him. And he was sure that the entire family felt the same.

He’d been working late one evening. Things were heating up in congress and he found himself spending more and more nights in the office. It was raining once he stepped outside onto the path. Ben tutted and put up his umbrella.

That’s when he heard the unmistakable sound of a meow.

At first he thought it was just the rain on the pavement, but nothing could mask the high pitched noise. He tried to ignore it, walking towards his care, when he heard it again, and again.

No, he couldn’t ignore this. He’d never forgive himself. Listening carefully, he followed the sounds of the meows until he came across a beaten-up cardboard box with a tiny, black and white kitten inside.

The kitten looked terrified and was meowing for help. Ben’s heart contorted. Someone must have abandoned this poor kitten, and it was scared.

“Hey, it’s ok, come here,” Ben said calmly, reaching out to stroke the kitten. At first, it backed away, but softened as Ben managed to rub it’s soaked fur.

Carefully, Ben lifted the kitten into his arms and tucked it under his coat to shelter it from the rain, then he sprinted back to his car, managing to text Leslie one-handed that he’d be late home.

“So I guess we’ve got a cat now too?”

Ben smiled sheepishly at Leslie as she watched the triplets (and Patches) play with the small kitten. It seemed a little hesitant, and kept looking over at Ben, but was now playfully swatting at Patches’ nose.

“The vet said she’s recovered well and is healthy. If we don’t take her they’ll take her to a shelter. She’s not chipped or anything, we could keep her if you wanted to?” Ben said to Leslie.

Leslie looked down at the kitten. She was black all over with the excepting of her back paws, which were white.

“She is really cute,” Leslie said. “And Patches seems to like her too.”

Leslie shrugged her shoulders. “Ah, why not. Plus it’ll be nice for Patches to have some extra company when we’re not at home.”

Ben grinned, then a thought slipped into his mind. “Now we have to go through the painful process of naming her.”

“Dad!” Stephen piped up. “It’s Star Wars Day! May the 4th. We should give her a Star Wars themed name.”

“Hey, that’s a good idea,” Ben said, walking over to his children. “What were you thinking?”

“Yoda.”

“No, we can’t call her Yoda,” Sonia cut in. “That’s so obvious. We should call her Chewie since she’s furry.”

“That’s even more obvious than mine!”

“Well what about Leia?” Leslie asked. “Or Organa?”

She winked at Ben, clearly wanting to show off.

Suddenly, the kitten broke off into a run, sprinting out of the room and towards a chair in the hallway, where she settled down, tail curling around her body.

“Hey, come back,” Wesley said, standing up.

“No, leave her, buddy. She probably wants to be alone,” Ben said, stopping his son.

That’s when it came to him.

“Hey, I have an idea,” Ben said out loud. “When I found her, she was alone. Or solo you could say.”

He turned to Leslie. “Do you see where I’m going with this.”

“No,” Leslie shook her head.

“Solo! We should call her Solo. It’s got a Star Wars angle and it fits her perfectly.

“I like it,” Stephen said. “Solo and Patches. The best pets ever.”

Ben smiled. “I agree.”

And later that evening, when everyone was in bed, Ben felt something press against his arm.

He looked down to see Solo curled up in the crook of his arm, purring softly.

Ben smirked. “Welcome to the family, Solo. And may the force be with you.”

1982. I'm assuming Five used a briefcase... But in s1 we saw that the briefcase travels are tracked (Hazel and Cha-Cha got reprimanded for Klaus's Vietnam trip) so I'm not sure how the board doesn't know someone is coming... I might be overthinking.

Five being creepy.

I LOVE FIVE! The lengths this little killer will go for his family are unbelievable, nobody should ever doubt his love and devotion for them ever again.

This whole murder scene was incredible and Five's obvious glee made it even better. FEAR HIM!

Jesus, Klaus is so afraid of being possessed that he's afraid to sleep and Ben just mocks him? 😘💋 I get that this is supposed to be a funny 'brothers messing with each other' kind of thing but Klaus feels so unsafe that it makes me uncomfortable. What happened to you, Ben, when did you become so dark? You were the nice one!

Ben just getting closer and closer every time Klaus closes his eyes just gave me Doctor Who flashbacks.

Damn, the tension at the lunch table cut be cut with a knife. I'm scared what Carl is going to do.

Ray and Allison have a lovely relationship but I finally identified the problem, the tension I was feeling between since them a few eps back. It's not about Allison's secrets at all, is about Ray being so obsessed with his crusade that he completely overlooks Allison's feelings, he only pays attention to her when they are on the page about the mission. He sees her powers and his first thought is 'we could use this for the cause', Allison is clearly distressed and sad and even says she doesn't feel well and all he can think about is the damn JFK meeting. He's not a bad person and he's not doing it on purpose but he has a workaholic one-track mind that could easy turn into neglect for Allison. He clearly loves her and I'm rooting for them so much but I know that if asked to choose between Allison and his cause, he'll pick his cause.

So Five is done with the killing. I figured this might weigh on his conscience, it's one thing to kill for a greater good or survival, coldly and detached, it's another thing to slaughter for selfish reasons (even if his selfish reasons are a greater good).

Handler going all mom on him and wiping his face. 😆

"What I did today, I did for my family" -we know, baby, and they better respect you for it. You love then so much.

90 minutes??? Wtf, I knew Handler would try to screw Five over but that's just cruel, she's forcing him to uproot the family without even giving them time to say goodbye and that's even IF he can get to all of them on time.

I love the new dumbass buddy cop dynamic between Diego and Luther. This is the sort of positive brotherly dynamic they always should have had instead of being pitted against each other all their lives.

"you have some blood on you" "a lot of blood, actually. Five, what did you do?" -the casual, mildly annoyed way they ask is hilarious, if they knew what he did they'd be horrified (and possibly impressed).

Handler's militaristic chic dress is fabulous. I personally don't like it very much (or the message it sends) but it's haute couture and incredibly designed. Also, the bleached hair is back!

"any questions?" And then she leaves without listening. Power move 😏

Luther trying to comfort Diego like the dork he is. 🤣

Really though, I feel bad for Diego, and Five is under so much pressure that I don't blame him for snapping.

Ok, so far the possession thing is not as bad as some people were claiming. So far.

I know this all supposed to be cute and all but it would also be a perfect moment for Ben for experience Klaus's powers (the constant hauntings) as well as his addiction and the claustrophobic expectations of the cult. It would be an excellent chance to make Ben understand why Klaus is the way he is, seeing as Klaus is making a huge effort (and sacrifice) to do the same for Ben. Unfortunately, I don't see that happening because I think they want to keep this part about Ben.

By end of season 1 Klaus cried that people still didn't take him seriously, his compassion despite all his suffering made him likeable and deep, but this season he's back to being the family joke, I don't like that there's no resolution to that. But let's see where this goes, I'm getting ahead of myself.

Oh God, Carl's talk is freaking me out.

Everybody keeps expecting Vanya to explode every time she gets emotional but this scene proves how much control she truly has. Respect!

Oh, finally Claire is mentioned! I've been rather upset that Allison hasn't mentioned her daughter even once this season (does Ray even know he has a stepdaughter?) seeing as most of her arc in season 1 revolved around her love and guilt over Claire.

Luther is right when he says they don't get live formal lives because they are special but Allison is even more right when she says that's not fair. This is why this family needs to stick together and love each other, they are the only ones that can really understand each other's struggles.

OH! I CAN FINALLY SEE ALLISON'S SCAR! The lighting in this scene makes it really obvious. Finally.

New episode, new post!

This was the other post I had written out that got accidently deleted so I'm writing it all again.

1993? And Lila was 4? TOO MUCH COINCIDENCE! I still stand by my theory that Lila is one of the 43.

Yes, she has a father but that could just be her mother's husband. It's just too coincidental that the show would make her exactly the same age as the Hargreeves for no reason.

Ah the red heels. Hi Handler. These heels are really pretty though, very wicked witch with the ruby slippers. Even that outfit kind of screams wicked witch meets Cruella de Vil 😏

Kill parents, adopt child. Interesting MO, Handler. Like an evil Bruce Wayne (does this make Handler Owlman? I know, I'm not funny).

Oh, Handler pulling a Reginald with Lila!

Except, you know, she actually gives Lila positive reinforcement and affection, unlike Reggie. But her training seems just as brutal and inhumane for a child (and possibly even more violent) as Reginald's...

It's curious and interesting, a nice foil. Handler succeeds where Reggie fails- creating a loyal and effective soldier will into adulthood- because she was willing to give the kid affection and compassion. Reggie saw himself as some sort of hero creating heros but he failed at the most basic and human thing that even the villain understood.

-The filmography in these training scenes is brilliant.

-Ah, that prom look is the same as half of my classmates when we graduated 🤣 down to the blue makeup.

I'm guessing Lila's "prom"/"graduation" was her first solo assassination?

Wait, Handler wants to protect Five...? What the hell is she up to now?

Talking about killing people like it's a fun hobby 🤨

She's definitely following her own agenda here and she's leading Lila into danger. The question is if she's going to undermine the Commission for revenge of if she wants to prove her ability to get promoted back into administrative ranks of the Commission.

Either way, this will not end well for Five.

Five stays in the car to give Luther space... No matter what Five says he actually cares about his siblings' feelings, doesn't he? He's the most overprotective of them all and always has been. It's sweet.

I'm actually really happy to see Luther owning up to his mistakes instead of trying to act like the flawless leader. I think he grew a lot after accepting that Reginald wasnt perfect and I'm glad to see that growth still happening as he learns how to be an independent person. I just hope his guilt doesn't turn into even more self-hatred.

Ok, I need to pause to gather my thoughts... Ok, things I hope don't happen-please don't magically "fix" the disabled boy, and please don't make the powers transferrable (that's just lazy writing, don't rehash "Misfits").

However, other than that I'm just very curious what those lights will do to Harlan. Will they just save his life? Will he gain powers? Will he have some weird connection to Vanya now? I'm dying to find out!

Anyway, back to the ep.

Melancholic music kicking in. Sad emotional talk. Sitting way too close. Yeah, they're going to kiss.

Aaaaaand there's the kiss! ☺️

But now I need to pause and digress again...

Yeah, Sissy's feelings for Vanya are not healthy at all. In fact they mirror Vanya's feelings for Leonard- she's unhappy with her life and clinging to the first person that gives her attention. She wants help, she wants to be rescued, she's touch and attention starved. She's co-dependant and emotionally manipulative.

I'm not saying Sissy is a bad person, she's not, she's a sad person stuck in an unhappy marriage, terrified of being abandoned (almost paranoid) and exhausted under a lot of pressure dealing with a disabled child. And then in comes Vanya, who is perfect with Harlan, so loving and kind and has nothing else to pour all her attention towards. Of course Sissy sees salvation in Vanya and is desperate to keep her.

I'm not saying Vanya and Sissy can't have a beautiful healthy relationship, they can, but not like this. Sissy is clinging too tight and using Vanya to make herself feel better and make her life easier. They both deserve better than that and I hope they get it.

I'm starting to think that all relationships in this season might be doomed to fail:

-Sissy and Vanya have a co-dependant and emotionally unhealthy infatuation and Sissy is married to a man that, while not great, still clearly loves her;

-Raymond and Allison have too many secrets between them that are causing a major rift, they can fix it but there's also the chance that Ray might not be able to accept the truth about her;

-Lila is a double agent using Diego to get close to Five, she seems to be developing feelings but the fact that she's lying about who she is and working for Handler is obviously toxic;

-Klaus is pining over a person that Dave has not yet become and while he only wants to save Dave's life, it's obvious there's too big an experience and culture gap between them for a relationship to flourish;

-Luther and Allison have become one-sided and less innocent and puppy-love than before, now it really is just creepy and unhealthy (whereas before it was understandable because they grew up together under an emotionally unavailable father and isolated from the real world, naturally they became attached and confused their feelings, their attachment wasn't healthy but it was justified and almost innocent... Not anymore though);
