currently in the middle of applying to houses (& allegedly organising doubles but there’s no way that’ll happen) with someone who i thought was a friend but is making it very clear that they don’t like me. the other day they insinuated i’ve never had long term friendships (likely projection bc they haven’t & can’t even fathom what a romantic friendship is) & now they’re mad at me. bc i asked too many questions about gloves. (i am a PRO DOMME & a DYKE i buy a box a week)

my last housing situation became actively dangerous bc i avoided red flags early on so i have learned my lesson but this person is reliant on me for proof of income & rental history so if i go back to applying to houses by myself she’s fucked. but i’m not risking my mental & physical safety bc i want to help someone else out for the 5th time in my life.

i Do Not Trust people who make Mary the bad guy in their stories when the show went out of its way to specifically show us how she was suffering just as much as stede was in their marriage and that shes, yknow, a good person

had a really incredible moment this evening. went to my campus art market where one of my friends was selling the tank top i'm wearing - another friend bought it for me and i'm so overjoyed to have it. usually a fit that leans more Traditionally Masculine feels like a costume but tonight it just felt deeply correct and honest and warm. took the opportunity to take some indulgent little pictures because i do not think i have Ever looked more like myself. so happy.

Mutant Mayhem Spoilers

(Donnie appreciation post, he’s a little instigator)

Okay I’m being a little Dramatic abt the instigator thing, but I think I’m mostly right.

Before MM was released and all we had were trailers I heard a lot of people talking about the potential dynamics of all the brothers, mainly that Raph was going to be the Rebel older brother that Donnie and Mikey follow with Leo being a wet blanket.

And while they were right about Leo being a wet blanket sometimes (it’s the anxiety), I think Donnie takes the mantle for a lot of the rule breaking and planning in this movie.

In the very beginning when Raph suggests staying out longer, Donnie instantly pulled out his phone and put the idea of the Movie in everyone’s heads. Didn’t even wait for Leo to response before he was off and Raph and Mikey followed. Almost like he already had it locked and loaded.

Donnie is the first one to come up with the plan to gain acceptance through catching Superfly, which all his brothers are immediately on board.

In almost every scene when Donnie is driving he’s always pulling some NASCAR, Mario cart, movie logical racing that gets them out of all pinches, and-

Donnie was the one who snapped out of it the quickest when Superfly was threatening to grind them into powder- able to divert attention and make the whole ‘we don’t like this plan’ seem like a joke and even offering to drive by himself so they could be closer to the machine piece.

He’s also the first one who yells at Cynthia when they’re put in the milking machine, which requires some guts ngl-

Almost every plan or outspoken moment or even quick save is done by Donnie. (With Raph coming in second for those quick saves)

I’m just super happy that Donnie got a ton to do in this movie and we can really see his potential.

And Donnie is still the smartest! He wasn’t the smartest because he was a tech master, he was the smartest because he could drive and he’s straight up the biggest opportunist in the film, with his smarts being more subtle then outright. It’s a different take on Donnie’s intelligence and I’m really glad they did it.

I think I realized how severely humor infects all spaces when I witnessed two of my coworkers at the neuro clinic I’m interning at laughing at putting in a patient as deceased

#It wasn’t because the patient was dead it was because of an error the system did or something #But even joking about it in that context is fucking weird to me #I thought death would be the only thing humor couldn’t touch #Especially in the context of FTD which is a very aggressive dementia #I don’t think they’re bad people but I do think they’re weird as fuck for that #And if it were me I wouldn’t be able to sleep knowing I made that kind of joke #I don’t mean to be a buzzkill but I have my limits and wtf was that #I didn’t say anything I just pretended to be engrossed in my paperwork #The neurologist I’m shadowing wasn’t present #And while I do think she’s a little too robotic when dealing w patients I don’t think she’d have been in on that joke #Just odd idk the us healthcare system already has issues but I think a big one I’m starting to see is #How desensitized the healthcare workers get #Where’s your heart #I love medicine for the humanism of it I don’t wanna become like this one day #I know some people are gonna tell me it’s Just Two Coworkers Being Silly #But can’t they be silly about something else
