RUIN SPOILERS!!
i’m very attached to roxanne, and after the dlc i am very attached to cassie too! so here’s my thoughts on the both of them and why their relationship is just so unbelievably special to me
1. it’s implied that they both don’t really have any friends, as sad as it is. Roxanne says to Cassie in their conversation that she thinks that her friends will come to her party this time, which obviously means Cassie’s friends are either nonexistent or aren’t very nice. it’s also implied that Roxanne is disliked by the other children in the pizzaplex because of her desire to win and lack of empathy thus unawareness that children are upset by the idea of losing. so, the idea of them both becoming friends and acknowledging each-other is truly special if they have nobody else.
2. Roxanne’s desire to win on her race track is overridden by her kindness and feelings towards Cassie. in their conversation Roxanne remembers Cassie because she beat her twice on the track, which leads to Roxanne almost sounding proud despite being beaten which she usually expresses anger for. (I’ve been told this doesn’t mean what I think, Number 1 twice refers to Cassie’s birthday, but you can argue that it still shows something between them by the fact Roxanne is willing to say Cassie is Number 1, despite Roxanne constantly wanting to be Number 1.)
3. Cassie’s clear empathy towards Roxanne as her favourite - she pities and feels for Roxanne when she’s crying in the salon. despite seeing the horrid conditions that all the other animatronics are in, Roxanne as Cassie’s favourite is the only one she truly feels for.
4. Roxanne’s infatuation with herself does not inflict with her remembering details about Cassie. Roxy asking about and sharing Cassie’s love of carrot cake (and remembering her birthday) shows an attachment that Roxanne seems to have with no-one else, as thinking of herself does not conflict with thinking of Cassie.
5. in the cutouts of Cassie and Roxanne standing side by side, they’re mirrored. Cassie has similar makeup on to Roxy, and is holding her mirror the exact same way. Cassie wants to be exactly like Roxanne, to the point of copying her actions and being dolled up like her. these images of the two of them are simply to establish a connection between them, so it hurts a lot more when it comes down to de-activating Roxanne.
6. Roxanne, despite being so angered at the idea of not being pretty and being so damaged, has no hesitation in jumping to save Cassie despite possibly getting more damaged or even being completely broken because of it.
7. the line “it has been some time since i saw you last” can be interpreted as Roxanne had thought of Cassie since the last time she had been to the pizzaplex. it makes their reunion all that more heartbreaking because when Roxanne meets her again, it’s for Cassie to deactivate her.
8. Roxanne asking if Cassie had booked her party yet, is essentially Roxy asking if Cassie was going to come back and see her - Cassie, the only kid that Roxy is shown to have a connection with.
9. Cassie stroking Roxanne’s fingers before deactivating her, as if to give her the last comfort she’ll ever feel.
anyway that ends my rant. they’re just so special to me despite them having like 3 interactions. they are the true little sister/big sister animatronic and human pairing we needed. if I don’t get an ending where they’re sitting on the hill eating carrot cake, the developers are going to get a very strongly worded email.
(just to clarify months on from this post, the developers have received a very strongly worded email.)

“You’re scared…. and broken…” With, literally any of the Glamrocks after Ruin(preferably Eclipse and Monty)-
"N-NO!! STOP IT!! BAD GATOR!! BAD GATOR!!!!"
Hearing the terrified shrieks of a certain daycare animatronic, you were quick to rush into the garage, stumbling upon a rather frightening scene:
Eclipse, who reverted back to Sun, was on the floor as Monty's teeth were latched onto his leg, violently tugging on it in an attempt to shred what little remained of the tattered striped material. The gator snarled all the while, shaking his head around while the former kicked and screamed.
It didn't take long for you to figure out how to separate the two, grabbing a metal pipe and tapping it loudly against the wall to get Monty's attention on you for a second.
"Montgomery Gator. Let him go NOW!!"
Upon hearing his name, he let go of Sun and stared at you, shrinking away as you approached. With a huff, you tossed the pipe towards the furthest part of the area. "Go fetch."
As he crawled away, that gave you a chance to examine Sun for any serious damage. You kneeled down, frowning as the traumatized animatronic was whimpering at the current state of his other leg--arguably the only "good" leg he had remaining.
'Jesus..I can't leave these two alone for even a second..'
"Are you okay?" You asked worriedly. "Is your leg still functional?"
"Yes, but alas....p-pretty patterns are all ruined now..." He bemoaned. "No stars..no stripes...all gone. No more..."
"Sun, I promise I'll get this sewn up for you. But listen...I warned you not to go anywhere near Monty." You set a gentle hand on his knee. "Why did you go near him?"
"I....we just wanted to say hi! I-I didn't think he'd hurt me! He used to be so nice! S-Sure I might have called his music too loud, but he didn't seem offended by it!!"
"What he did to you wasn't anything personal." You shook your head, sighing. "He's not himself. He's gone...completely feral now. Do you know what that means?"
He was still for a moment, before shaking his head.
"It means he's not gonna know who you are. You all have been stuck there for so long that...he's acting on animal instincts now. He barely even knows me anymore."
"..so..you mean....he thinks he's actually a gator?"
"Exactly." You nodded. "And until I can figure out how to restore his original personality, we'll have to treat him as such."
Sun remained silent, his gaze wandering back to Monty. He was gnawing on the pipe. It wasn't much, but it stopped him chewing on anything else in the garage, such as the important Fazbear Ent. equipment you stole from the plex.
It's not like anybody was going to use it anyways.
"It's not fair to him...o-or me. Why did this have to happen to us?"
"..I don't know. I wish I knew why, Sun." All you could do was shake your head, feeling sad that you couldn't simply repair them both like nothing even happened.
Like they weren't left to rot in that mall for years.
Your exploration of it was still fresh in your mind.
While you couldn't track down Chica, Roxy, or Freddy...you were able to at least find Eclipse and Monty, convincing them to come home with you as it was a lot safer.
Eclipse was more than willing despite being worried about when the children will return to the daycare, whereas Monty just started following you randomly, always being at your heels like a protective guard dog.
He was your favorite out of the Glamrocks, so maybe part of him remembers that--hence he never attacked you.
Unfortunately you had no idea how he would behave around Eclipse, considering you just rebooted him after Sun and Moon were fighting for control nonstop. The two were in obvious pain with the lights being broken in the daycare, so you were lucky to have a fazwrench on you at the time.
But the strangest thing during your time working for the pizzaplex was that you never knew Eclipse even existed as a character. The company never talked about him, and not a single advertisement (old or new) mentioned him anywhere.
There was only ever Sun and Moon.
Regardless, you were glad to officially meet him and see his balanced personality--with Moon's calmness and Sun's optimism
Unfortunately Monty had some fit of aggression when he tried talking to him, sending him into a panic so bad that it made him switch back into Sun. Now you weren't sure how to bring Eclipse back to the forefront without doing another reboot...as that apparently caused Moon great pain.
The gator, as feral as he was, seemed guilty for what he did as he stayed huddled in the nearest corner of your garage. You could clearly see that he didn't mean to attack Eclipse; he just couldn't control himself.
"[Y/n]...a-are we monsters? Is that why nobody comes to see us anymore?"
Those heartbreaking questions almost made tears spring to your eyes, before you turned back to Sun, taking his hands into yours. "No. Neither of you are monsters. You're scared...and broken. But I'll try my hardest to put you back together. You, too, Monty."
"Grrahhh..?" He perked up at his name, dropping the pipe and crawling over to you when you beckoned him closer.
At first the attendant was panic-striken, almost hyperventilating even. But then he saw him abruptly stop beside you and was confused for a moment.
You smiled sadly and patted Monty's head, feeling what little remained of his red hair. "It's amazing that your mohawk is still attached to you, pal."
He chuckled at that, before looking to Sun and huffing. Although he couldn't speak anymore, the guilt was clear in his body language, something that was quickly understood by the solar animatronic.
"Awh, it's okay, buddy. We can still be friends!" He giggled, mimicking your gesture and patting Monty's head, albeit with great caution.
Fortunately, he didn't bite his hand off this time.
All you could do was continue smiling, being a watchful observer of your two (technically four) favorite characters who you were relieved to have rescued.
'Looks like there's hope for them yet.'

kinda following this (spoilers)
In the Ruin version of Arts n Crafts Sun is distant, kinda scared, saying that we shouldn't be there, is not safe.
But still, he shreds the art, says "Bad! Bad! Bad!" when we mess up. He's been alone and hurting for who knows how long and still, he wants us to leave.
"You can make crafts, but then you need to go." He repeats over and over with the same tone.
Its a big contrast with the normal game. "gOod FrieeeENd, you're back..." "Whyyyy are you taking so looooonnnng?!" "Areyoudoneyet?" "UUh googly eyes *giggles*" his voice has feelings! He gets happy and impatient and sassy! In some lines you can feel how he talks with a forced smile (bless u Kellen Goff) (this is my favorite line its great)
But then he loses all life. He's scared and sad and still wants us to leave!
And in all this, Moon's just laughing. Hiding here and there, going up and down giggling and clicking around the room.
Tumblr media
Look at him. Hands on the desk and spinning his head. He doesn't kill us immediately like Sun does when the time runs out or like how Moon does in Ruin. Look at him. He's just... Does he wants to make Arts n Crafts too?
How long has it been since the ending of Security Breach? Sun is not begging for help, Moon is not instakilling...
But now that I think about it, there's no more "its past your bed time" or "Naughty naughty", just laughs and agony screams. On the other hand, Sun still, still, has the guts to call you out if you do the art wrong.
This is fascinating to analyze. Theres so many new behaviors, so much new knowledge about them. Sun is sassy af and is not afraid to turn the lights off if the situation calls for it ("I should turn off the lights myself"). And Moon! Moon goes places! He's in the carousel and in Bonnie Bowl and Foxy's water ride. They get so much life and it gets taken away it in the same game I'm gonna scream!
This is not Ruin. Sun still has a defiant tone in his voice. Moon is laughing and curious and not attacking as his first move.
In Ruin they fight. In Ruin both are more desperate for light/no light.
What changed between this and Ruin? What happened between them? How much time did it pass?? For Sun to lose the confidence, for Moon to become so agressive and defensive of its time out.
I had a little headcanon back then about how FazCo sold the animatronics the idea of reopening. Is this around that time? before losing all hope? Why keep the Arts n Craft station? With all the materials and in their room no less. To pass time? To keep the Daycare clean? Why are they acting like this? What do they know? What do they don't know? Why are they so broken? Have they been like this this whole time? If so, and with Sun's "I can do it myself" attitude, why hasn't he done something? He's there, there's light! He's out!
He's out...
Out and switching with Moon. Letting it play and be spooky while he judges the art. There's no fear between them, there's no hate, no keeping one in an eternal nap. Changing and playing with the little light they have in their little fort in their room...
They have gone through so much. Its painful now that we know more of them. From going to a sassy "I'm gonna put you in a nap!" to a terrified "I'm trapped in a nap!". From laughing and having fun around the place to being in so much pain he slashes a kid's face off.
And the worse part? They have no control over it. "If I was programmed to I would" but he's not. They're not. They can't be more than they are, they can't learn to be more. Not programmed to. Just do with what we allow you to. Can't can't can't and its so, so unfair

HCs with Ruined animatronic!
Kyo- These are just some simple headcanons of how I think the animatronics reacting to a reader who returns to the Pizzaplex to help their robot buddy! If people enjoy this (if one person says they do lol) ill gladly write more so dont be afraid to ask!
Extra details= The idea is that reader was a worker before the “Earthquake” happened, goes into the ruined pizzaplex in search of the animatronics, maybe wanting to help them out? You can change these details if you wish as im trying to make it as vague as possible… This is how I imagine in turning out :)
Glamrock Chica
She may be constantly shutting down so I suspect that when you find her, she shut down in some trash
If you tried to drag her out while shes shut down and she wakes up, she may try to attack you out of confusion, but after noticing its you, she stops!
If she managed to hurt you, she would attempt to apologize but only a screeching sounds would come out as her voicebox is missing :(
If you find her after the events with Cassie and she has her voicebox, I can imagine her giving a sad speech to you about her constantly shutting down, that you should just leave her there and escape while you still can
If you do manage to get her out though, I doubt you would be able to repair the severe damages to her and her trash filled body
Good luck saving her reader, I really hope you can repair her, she deserves the best :)
Monty
Lets address the elephant in the room… He has definitely lost all consciousness at this point. Imagine being in a position like his, alive yet utterly destroyed, and stuck being like that..
For Monty, we’ll say you hold a special place in his robot heart and ill make some magic happen
When you explored to Pizzaplex.. You found him pretty quickly and he immediately tried to attack you
Not only by the disheartening sight of him but him attempting to drag you down to attack more caught you off guard
He definitely hurt you, depending on your skills, maybe a lot or maybe not much
Once youre on the ground and hes ontop of you though.. He some how recognized you! How lucky :)
But hes not his regular Monty-self anymore, not only was his whole pride shattered and literal self image destroyed, it was you that saw him like this
Monty got off of you and with a rough attempt due to his damages, apologized
Now if you tried to talk to him, I think his personality would be an entire 180, being a lot more conscious due to his disabled body
Compliment him on how well he survived though and youll slowly revive that inner Monty he once was :)
He doesnt try to convince you too much to leave him behind, but if it gets too dangerous on your escape, he will try to make you leave alive without him
Once you escape with him, it would be very hard to repair him as well but in a different sense than Chica
Roxanne
Once you find Roxy, you stand in shock of her dismantled state.. But she heard you approach and seemed ready to attack you
So of course, quickly and obviously realizing shes blind, you speak up and tell her its you!
Roxy quickly notices you and pushes her damaged pride away
Cassie was a child, youre not (I hope 😭) Roxy would get concerned for your safety in, what she can tell, a ruined Pizzaplex
I expect her to try to tell you that you should get out of here and that it isnt safe
And when you tell her youre here to get her and her friends out.. Shes hesitant but accepts your offer, willing to help you with it too! Though she explains to you that she cant find Freddy and the state of the other
But she will admire you if you try to help them all, even if it fails
Once you escape with Roxy, she’ll try to hide her damaged ego but its easy to tell she hates what Gregory did
And yes, you hear all about what happened from her point of view
Roxy would still want revenge probably but since youre special to her, she’ll hold it off for you
Plus she just wants her eyes back and if you can find a spare to give her, she would be very greatful
Even if you dont know how to repair animatronics, she would help you learn a bit and get the right parts to fix her up some more
Eclipse
Depending if this is before or after Cassie enters will change the beginning
If its before Cassie, you basically have a Faz-wrench as well and do exactly was Cassie does
If its after Cassie, Eclipse is already active and you enter to him.. Actually attempting to clean the daycare
Which he wasnt doing a half bad job but you knew very well there would probably never be kids there again
Once Eclipse sees you or you speak to him, he quickly approaches you, somehow recognizing you and telling how how dangerous the daycare was currently
Try as you might but Eclipse will really try to stay in the daycare to fix it
Its up to you if you stay longer or not to maybe help him clean more or just talk to him
But you do have to leave at some point, and you did come here for him
Itll take some convincing, maybe a lot, but im sure you can convince him to leave with you
Since Eclipse got little time in the ruined DLC, this will delve a bit more into head canon territory
Sun seemed to understand that the daycare wasnt coming back from its state and Moon… Just seemed to have completely control, maybe even wanting it to stay like that
But with the two now whole again, as Sun basically stated
I think Eclipse knows that the daycare wont recover, but since he was forced to be spilt in two before and maybe almost got dismantled, he didnt want it to happen again
Even if the Pizzaplex was destroyed, he would still try to fix it just incase the workers came back, or maybe something else
You managed to convince him to come with you through whatever means you think would work, which I think getting him to slowly accept the truth would work
He isnt that helpful in your escape but he is giant and flexible
He would help you through rumble and would have a slightly easier time traversing the ruins of the Pizzaplex
A small extra one:
Sun & Moon
When you entered the daycare with your Faz-Wrench.. You first ran into Moon, who attempted to pull you through the play structure, but you knew these two
You shone your flashlight on him and got him away… Though the next time you saw him, it was Sun
Sun knew you could help them and begged you to reset them so that they could finally be whole again
Of course, maybe you knew what this meant or maybe you didnt.. But you were here to help him, and it would be hard to escape with Moon out
And you basically did what Cassie did but on your own
Once you reset him though, now you got to see Eclipse :) (read his section above)
I didnt add Proto Freddy since im not sure what to type for him… And Glamrock Freddy is most likely with Gregory so I did add him, I hope you enjoy :)

This is primarily aimed at Security Breach fans in particular, not FNAF fans as a whole.
You all are so damn toxic sometimes.
Even worse is that people are just being mean to Monty fans right now
"Don’t get all angry because your favorite wasn't in the game," and I don't think they get that he’s the ONLY one not to be in the game.
I hate being a fan of Monty cause we had to deal with the Glamrock Bonnie fans harassing anything to do with Monty on Tiktok or Twitter. "MONTY KILLED BONNIE!"
FOR FUCK SAKES THIS SERIES HAS A LITERAL CHILD SERIAL KILLER WHO ABUSED HIS CHILDREN! WHY IS THE ANIMATRONIC ALLIGATOR WHO MIGHT. LET ME REPEAT THAT. MIGHT HAVE KILLED ANOTHER ANIMATRONIC MET WITH THE SAME ENERGY AS SAYING SOMEONE SIMPS FOR DAHMER?
Not only that, Monty fans have been playing each game hoping Steelwool will treat him better. Expand on his character a bit more. Instead his negative personality traits and "evilness" being played up more and more cause Steelwool and Scott saw some people hate him, and thought it wasn't enough.
In Ruin there's not one moment Cassie shows any concern for him. It's that Monty thing, it hurts to look at. Than they made him just the worst off of the trio, and fucking killed him.
Now even in a game he rightfully should appear in. He's the ONLY one cut.
Monty fans get the short end of the stick.
We are harrassed by fans
Our boy is treated worse and worse each game. Physically, mentally, and even in narrative.
Now, he’s just fucking gone with little fanfare.
Its like why are you obsessed?
Honestly, because Monty speaks to me. This is mostly head canon, but based on how he acts.
I used to have really bad anger issues in elemantary and middle school. Even worse, I had to deal with a mentally abusive teacher telling me I wouldn't amount to anything. I was bullied relentlessly because they knew that when I reacted with my outburst class would be delayed. I even lived in the same neighborhood as them so I couldn't escape. It got so bad I attempted suicide. What saved me was after so long of being harrased, after so long of people only judging me based on what they heard. Never defending me. Someone finaly went to the principal and told them to look at my bullies before I reacted. Suddenly, the bullying stopped. What's sad is, it's not like I didn't try. I went to the principal and guidance counselor every dat. In the end to them I was that punk kid who would snap at any moment. Not a person.
With Monty I see someone who was like me. With anger issues because he hates himself as much as he thinks everyone hates him. I wonder if in universe he's constantly reminded he's not Bonnie. He sees fans clamoring to see Freddy while ignoring him. People always bring up the Missing message and his Arcade game to judge him. Then seemingly forget about the message that states he will skip shows to be over Monty Golf. You know the same shows he apparently killed Bonnie to appear in. What I see is someone who needs to work on his anger issues and get better, but isn't evil. They're dealing with the fact that one day their anger got the better of them, and they did something they couldn't take back. Something that I think many people with mental health problems can relate too.
My anger issues didn't just get me bullied. I was an embarrassment to my parents. I hurt people I loved. I was violent. I didn't hurt anyone, but I threw books and flipped tables. I was in this loop of feeling like everyone hated me because of my anger issues, and that only made things worse and worse. Even now I have a hard time loving myself.
That's why Monty means so much to me. I saw someone who was like me. I saw someone with anger issues but was more than that if people gave them the chance.
All I wanted was to see Monty one last time before he was retired when the new band is announced.
I couldn't even get that.
Before you make fun of me, this is what a comfort character is. I'm sure there are fans who relate to Roxy’s insecurities. Who have an eating disorder and feel for Chica. Who felt lonely and wanted attention like Sun. Who lost a loved one like Freddy.
I just wanted people to understand why this is just more than "my favorite didn't make it" for some people
I really hope Steelwool sees how much people really love Monty and not only put him in HW2 fully. They also treat him better

The more I think about it, the more silly I get about it.
The security breach animatronics have a lot more of their animal model traits and it’s great.
Chica eats trash- chickens in real life will eat literally anything and you do feed them compost. She bawks like a chicken too. Chickens can also be pretty fierce when they need to be.
Monty- self explanatory for the gator death roll, his strength and brutal force as well as the “chomp” jumpscare. Surrounded by water. Seen as the “lazy” one who hardly wants to perform and also like to imagine he just lays in a big light to “warm up” before show time. Of course the water level in ruin shows his true gator nature too.
Roxy- Sniffs like a wolf, pounces and honestly it makes me giggle thinking that her “Pay attention to me!” Attitude is so similar to my experience with dogs, especially my dog. If you do not pet him or pay attention to him long enough, he will literally paw at you (sometimes smack you in the face) I like to think her robotic tail has a “wag” mechanic too. Gets sad when left alone for too long and can lash out when feeling threatened or attacked. She does also wear a spiked collar it looks like.
Freddy- Big bulking bear, protective of his “cubs” in a lot of sense. Though I feel he is the least animal-like out of the band. He can definitely get aggressive if he feels a child is threatened as seen by the rooftop ending.
Anyway I’m in a silly mood and now I want to see drawings of them acting like their animal counterparts, especially lazy sun-laying Monty with his huge gob open.

What's with Balloon Boy and the Daycare Attendant?
The Balloon World arcade machine exists, it's in the DA's room and both characters are involved in it. It's probably one of the most cryptic minigames in the FNAF series as a whole, but while we could ponder what exactly it's supposed to mean (maybe I'll do that for all the security breach minigames eventually), the main question I have is this:
WHY Balloon Boy specifically? Why is the minigame about HIM?
Is there a connection between the two characters? Or was it a completely random decision?
Out of nowhere, thinking about Balloon World, I came to a realization:
The Lights.
Balloon Boy's entire gimmick in FNAF 2 was that if he got into your office, he would disable your flashlight and vent lights (...somehow. I know we all make the jokes about him taking the batteries [and then that FNAF 57: Freddy In Space thing in FNAF World said he just straight-up steals your entire flashlight], but you never see the battery icon disappear or appear empty in FNAF 2 itself when he gets into your office. And the vent lights also stop working, so unless they also operate on batteries, then... does he actually take them from you?).
What's the one rule in the daycare?
Keep the lights on.
His mechanic is the antithesis to what Sun wants and exactly what Moon would want. Balloon Boy doesn't keep the lights on. He prevents you from turning them on at all.
(which also makes me kinda sad there wasn't a Glamrock version of BB. Then again, I don't know how exactly he would've uniquely affected like anything. Regardless I am hoping for the day someone in the fandom makes a glamrock bb who is arch-enemies with sun and gets along well with moon skseijdndndnd-)
It feels kinda obvious and I'm guessing I'm not the only person to think about this, but I have never seen anyone else bring this up. Not on YouTube, not on tumblr, nowhere. Maybe if I go looking for it I'll see, but i'm surprised I haven't bumped into anyone else saying this just naturally. I go into the BB tags a LOT, surely SOMEONE would've said something, right? I don't even see it noted in the trivia on the page for the arcade game on the fnaf wiki.
...but is this supposed to mean anything? Or is it just a cute little reference or callback? it's hard to say, especially with how ambiguous the minigame is.
Though I DID think of ONE thing... (possible minor spoilers for Ruin under the cut):
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Saw this pointed out in a youtube video that the BB World screen (with Eclipse, who makes their proper debut in Ruin after effectively being foreshadowed by the minigame in SB's base game) can be seen on the ceiling in the DA's room. Which makes sense, obviously, but also take note of the pirate-themed windows in the hallway leading to it.
...now, which character do most of us tend to associate with Balloon Boy? His "tag-team partner," of sorts?
Foxy. The Pirate.
With this, I found that there's more Foxy-related stuff associated with the daycare area than I had previously realized because I had never made any connections before. I mean, Kids' Cove is directly linked to it for god's sake.
Like. I hope i haven't forgotten to mention anything (I've been writing this post over the course of hours 'Cus I had stuff to do in the middle of it all). My brain's kinda starting to fry. But basically: Was Foxy originally meant to be the Daycare Attendant, in-universe? Was there gonna be a Glamrock Balloon Boy with him, like as his first mate or something??? Were they gonna be connected to Fazbear Theater????? (Uh basically Sun/Moon to my knowledge from confirmation in the books and a lot of more subtle implications in-game mainly involving environmental pieces were originally meant to be in the Fazbear Theater as a stage animatronic but got moved to daycare duty instead and being reprogrammed. Which actually explains a lot about them when you think about it-)
Like. Ok I'm forgetting where I was going with this, I'm sorry, but I guess it's food for thought/adds to the weird connections between DA and BB, I guess. Idk. I can't focus that well right now to keep making new ideas.
felt like sharing my interpretation of the Balloon World minigame itself at least since earlier I did kinda finally get it down concretely:
I kinda developed a theory that Eclipse is Sun/Moon's "safe mode" and that rebooting DA reactivated Eclipse as a result. Like, they're their own AI that was at one point implemented. but then Vanny happened and locked them out thanks to the whole Glitchtrap virus thing (albeit it only seemed to reach Moon, while Sun remains seemingly unaffected. Guessing it's because they're different AIs [finally implied/basically confirmed by their Ruin dialogue). Eclipse has seemingly not been active for some time, or at least never post-pizzaplex closure, given how they're seemingly completely oblivious to the fact that this place is closed with no signs of opening.
So the minigame was foreshadowing Eclipse's existence and implying their "trapped" nature, which also could be seen as paralleling Vanessa's whole "Vanny" situation, especially given how iirc one of the messages related to princess quest can be found near the arcade machine.

WHY has no one talked about the way Freddy says "I could open this gate if I had Monty's claws"?
He says it SO tauntingly, like he WANTS you to go decomission Monty for his claws. And when you compare it to the timid way he says "This requires Chicas voice to open" It's even CLEARER that between the two, he doesn't feel a very strong resentment towards the idea of having Monty's claws
And I think that couples EXTREMELY WELL with the sadness in his voice when you take him up to Bonnie Bowl, the way he says "I do not come up here anymore... I miss him..." With so much grief. You can feel it in his tone that Bonnie is still an open wound for him, and why wouldn't it be? Bonnie has been with Freddy since the very start, Freddy has NEVER existed without Bonnie until now. Yes he's known Chica for a long time, but not NEARLY as long as he's known Bonnie.
So yeah, he hesitates with Chica's voice gates. He knows from the start what would need to happen to his friends in order for him to open these gates the way they do, and he just doesn't seem to care about that when it comes to Monty.
And I think it's incredibly telling of Freddy as a character and what he believes happened to Bonnie:
He thinks it was Monty's fault.
He blames Monty for what happened to Bonnie, even though Monty is JUST the replacement. Monty wasnt made specifically to replace Bonnie. Bonnie was decommissioned, the company needed a bass player for parties, Monty was there, so they sent him to parts and services and gave him the necessary upgrade needed to fill the role. Monty wasnt MADE to play the bass. He was made for mini golf.
We as a player know that Monty wasnt responsible for what happened to Bonnie (depending on which ending you pursue and how much attention you're paying to it) but Freddy doesn't know that. Freddy doesn't know about Burntrap, doesn't get to see Bonnie's parts being used on his body. To Freddy, Bonnie was taken out so Monty could gain popularity. Who wouldn't hate that when it meant your best friend was no longer around?
And I think that's another reason why Monty is so aggressive. Sure Freddy talks up this big game of his band mates being his friends, but does Monty truly feel welcome amongst them? He wasn't made for music and glamor. He was made for golf and carefree fun, low expectations and an easy going day to day life of helping little kids play mini golf. Now he's a star, one of the most important animatronics in the whole pizzaplex. He has to be liked or else he'll end up like Bonnie too.
He's out of his element with big shoes to fill, a position he knows he'll never live up to. And now THE star of the show, the guy who's name is on the building, essentially snubs him before he even gets to know him, all because he's convinced Monty had something to do with why Bonnie was decommissioned.
But Monty doesn't know that.
How could he?
How would Monty guess that Freddy didn't like him because he thought he was to blame? There's no way he'd know that, so he assumes it's because he's just not good enough. So he tries harder at every performance, each show is an opportunity to prove his worth.
So when Freddy drops in the middle of a show? It sets him off. That was his opportunity of the day to prove that he belonged in the band. It's like Freddy didn't want him to be there SO BAD he'd malfunction and ruin the show over letting Monty prove himself.
And maybe thats why Monty spends so much time up on the catwalks over Monty golf. Clearly he doesn't feel welcomed by Freddy, so why hang around Rockstar Row any more than he has to? I'm sure Chica and Roxy are indifferent (at least Roxy probably. I'm sure Chica likes Monty just fine, even with a dull ache from Bonnje being gone) to Monty being there now, but Monty is probably thoroughly convinced that since Freddy doesn't like him, it's game over for him. Freddy's word is probably law around here considering the place is named after him, so Chica and Roxy would probably go along with it if Freddy decided Monty wasnt cutting it.
So yeah, he'd retreat to the one place he could ever call his own, the one place that was made just for him. The only place he truly belonged. Monty Golf is his safe haven from Freddy, because Freddy had NEVER had ANY say over what happens in there. Freddy can ignore him and be mad at him in the Atrium all he wants, but Monty Golf is HIS place. Monty Golf is whatever HE decides it is.
But now he's isolated, in a building that's supposed to bring nothing but joy. Of course he grows bitter, watching the other three get along just great while he's forced to watch from the outside. Of course it hurts, it makes him angry and confused on WHY he's just not good enough, why doesn't he deserve that as well? Was it because he wasn't Bonnie? Was it because he just wasn't living up to everyone's expectations?
Never in a million years would he guess that this all stemmed from Freddy's suspicion that he was responsible for Bonnie's decommissioning
Idk, just something I noticed today while replaying Security Breach. His tone at a Monty gate is chillingly carefree for what he's insinuating, and he doesn't dare take that tone when talking about a Chica gate... it's all very suspicious to me and I wouldn't trust Freddy to be alone with Monty after that

An Overly Long Rant Concerning Sun from FNAF: HW2
I don’t normally do these kinds of rants, but I wanted to get something very silly and unimportant off my chest.  When I found out that Sun was going to be in Help Wanted 2, I was both super excited to see more of my favorite boy and nervous that they would make some…undesirable changes to him.  I mean, I already knew Moon was going to be in the game, and I wasn’t concerned too much about him, as he’s already aggressive.  And then there’s Sun.  He has a whole minigame dedicated to him.  And I know how these minigames end if you get a game over.  So what…are we finally going to get an actually fatal jumpscare from Sun?  Is my dear, sweet ball of sunshine going to finally outright murder someone when he’s remained one of the only animatronics in the series that never kills you?
Well, in Sun’s jumpscare, he has red eyes, so maybe Moon’s starting to take over at this point?  I dunno…even Glamrock Freddy kills you, and I still love him, so maybe that’s fine.  Plus, one of his quotes implies he remembers you, so canonically, I guess you can lose the game and not die.  Anway, what bothers me the most is Sun’s personality.  I just feel like something is…off about him, y’know.
Most people like that Sun has become more sassy, but I seem to be one of the few people who isn’t too fond of the changes they made to his personality.  I want to make it clear that I don’t have a problem with Sun having depth.  In fact, I prefer it that way.  It’s just that a lot of Sun’s appeal to me was that he was sweet and kind.  He just struggled with anxiety and could get a bit crabby when people don’t follow the rules.  That’s not a flat “perfect angel that can do no wrong” type of character.  It’s just a character with a good heart and good intentions who also has flaws.  Moody and sassy is one thing.  In fact, a lot of this new side of Sun’s personality matches my headcanon for him fairly well.
I mean, I’ve always felt that Sun was the type to give someone the silent treatment if he was especially mad at them.  It would probably be short-lived, but I don’t think he’s exactly above being childish and grumpy, like a normally well-behaved kid who’s had a particularly bad day.
In HW2, Sun getting aggravated when you do a bad job or purposely mess with him makes sense.  That fits the Sun we already knew.  As an example, he gets very aggravated at Cassie if she reaches him in Ruin without turning on even a single generator, saying, “No, turn ON the generators!  Why aren’t you listening?”  (Not to mention an even more obvious example…angrily banning Gregory from the Daycare, an action I have always strongly defended.)  He clearly doesn’t like when his instructions are ignored, which makes sense for someone who needs to keep naughty kids in check.  I mean, of course he’s going to get pretty ticked if he tells a kid not to eat glitter glue, and they do it anyway, just like a parent would get angry at a child for running into the street after being warned a million times not to do so.  It’s his job to keep the kids safe, so if someone is thwarting his efforts to do his job properly, he’s going to get mad, both because he cares about the kids and because it reflects poorly on him.  (Plus, he has the added stress of possibly getting decommissioned if he does a bad job, but the implications of that don’t fit with the scope of this post, so...)
I’m also okay with Sun telling you to go away, both in his sad little song in Ruin and in HW2 because he’s depressed and just wants to be left alone.  Again, that doesn’t make Sun a bad person.  Some people just don’t want to be bothered if they’re upset or in a bad mood.  And a little bit of rudeness is understandable under certain circumstances, and I’d say Sun’s situation, where he’s fighting with a second, very aggressive personality that has full control when the lights are out, makes this behavior very justified.
And sure, I can understand that Sun might be more rude and impatient with staff (though he calls you a “bad kid”, which seems odd as you shouldn’t be a kid, plus I don’t see Sun yelling at the kids and calling them “bad” like that).  I like to think that Sun is sweet and (mostly) patient with the kids (the ones who don’t really push his buttons).  Nevertheless, while some of his dialogue can be dismissed as being annoyed at a grown adult for messing up or doing dumb things that an adult shouldn’t be doing, I can’t get over the fact that some of his comments feel outright…
Mean.  Yes, mean.  I’m okay with Sun being moody, childish, and easily irritated when he’s being ignored or mistreated.  But I never, not in a million years, ever thought that “meanness” would be a trait I’d ever associate with Sun.  But that’s seriously how he came across when he tells you that your art is “bad”, or it “stinks”, or how it makes him “feel dumber” just by looking at it.  That just feels totally uncalled for.  Or his random little line at the beginning of Moon’s carousel level (dude, stop hogging the spotlight; Moon deserves some love, too) where he says that, if it was up to him, he would have fixed the carousel by now.  I know that’s certainly not the worst thing for someone to say.  It just felt totally unprovoked and out of nowhere.  I mean, you had just started the minigame at this point.  Where was Sun’s crappy attitude even coming from?
He’s also rather pretentious in this game, as well, another new trait I'm not too fond of.  I don’t think Sun has to be super humble or even self-deprecating, but this level of arrogance seems more befitting of Roxy or Monty, not Sun.
Maybe I’m nitpicking over a few lines of dialogue when the majority of it doesn’t even contradict the Sun I’ve already had in my head.  It’s just that those certain lines of dialogue feel so very out of character and make Sun look like a mean-spirited, cold-hearted creep when the Sun I thought I knew was sweet and kindhearted and gentle.  (It would be like Glamrock Freddy getting really mean out of nowhere for 10% of his dialogue.  It would be really confusing and jarring!)  I mean, I sure hope he never says any of those things to the kids!  He’d make them cry!
Sun was just my little ray of sunshine.  Even in my headcanon, he was definitely not a perfect angel.  (If you’re interested in a little bit of insight into a fan fic I’m writing, please check out another post I’m writing soon.)  And considering some stuff I’ve been going through in recent months, I really needed a sweetheart like him in my life, even if he’s fictitious.  Now it feels like I’m seeing a decidedly ugly new side of a close friend, making me question who this person was this whole time.
I just read another post that I reblogged where someone was concerned that we’d lose the softer, sweeter Sun that many of us had grown to love.  I had the very same fear.  Just before, I scrolled through countless pieces of new fan art where Sun is being unkind to children over their mediocre art skills.  I know people are just interested in this new side of Sun that we’ve never seen before, but I hope sweet Sun isn’t going away.
This is why I was concerned about Sun’s inclusion in HW2.  Before, we had just a small insight into his character, leaving plenty of room for interpretation.  Now, I feel like his personality is becoming more set in stone, and soon enough, there won’t be any wiggle room left to fill in the gaps unless someone wants to outright ignore canon.  Sure, I can write Sun any way I want, but I prefer him to be as accurate as possible to the games, and now I no longer like canon-Sun as much as I used to.
On a more positive note, a lot of Sun’s new dialogue is very funny, and Kellen Goff delivers them perfectly!  I love his adorable giggles and I'm particularly fond of the lines related to you getting ulcers and indigestion from eating the supplies.  I'm also happy that Sun stands up for himself when you mess with him.  It's good to see he doesn't let people take advantage of him.  I guess I just find it so weird that Sun is surprisingly polite (even if clearly annoyed) when you're purposely bring a jerk to him, and then he gets randomly mean when you simply paint a picture wrong.  Seriously, did someone else write this portion of the dialogue?
Okay, the way I see it, my Sun’s still a good boy.  He’s just not as oblivious as we all were led to believe, as he’s probably more than aware of how crappy adults can be and deeply dislikes them.  I'm just going to believe that he was having a bad day in HW2 and leave it at that.  Because I really want to believe that Sun is genuinely a friendly and sweet guy who loves the kids and just can’t stand adults.  I mean, his little sad song in Ruin definitely implies that he misses the Daycare and doing arts and crafts with the kids.  He himself has clearly drawn a bunch of pictures in glitter glue (I just don’t see those being Moon’s) and has kids’ drawings hanging up in their room. That doesn't sound like someone who hates working with kids or who would look upon a child's drawing, no matter how bad it is, with disdain.
TLDR: Most people prefer Sun’s new sassy personality in Help Wanted 2.  I just felt like he came across as mean, and I don’t feel like it matched his personality in Security Breach and Ruin.  I know Sun can be anxious, childish, and bad-tempered.  I don’t expect him to be a perfect angel.  I just don’t like how mean he can be in HW2, especially when it feels unprovoked.

I feel like I'm the only og fnaf fan that didn't really enjoy the movie 💀
In my opinion, it was just really boring. I honestly wouldn't have minded if the movie was actually horror, like advertised?? Personally, i find horror movies to be really slow at first, but a lot of the time, they tend to pick up towards the middle. However, this movie just never picked up for me until pretty much the very end. I think it was just bc there was a lack of jumpscares imo. Like the BB jumpscares were affective, don't get me wrong, but I wish there was more from the others? I would've happily gone in with a different mindset if it was advertised as a thriller tbh. Also, a little bit more gore would've been nice. There were so many scenes that would've been awesome if they hadn't cut away right as a victim was about to die. Also, I didn't really see any lore confirmations that everyone keeps going on about? I feel like Scott just retconned stuff more than he confirmed it? It just seemed like Scott had so many ideas he wanted to do, and instead of picking one, he threw them altogether and hoped for the best
Spoilers ahead from this point on 👉🏼
.
.
Final warning... scroll past quickly if you don't want spoilers
.
.
Ok so here are my disappointments:
What was the purpose of not confirming Mike was Mike Schmidt until pretty much the end of the movie? I feel that was really unnecessary as it wasn't a huge plot twist or anything. Like I understand why Afton cut himself off when reading the name, but to me, it just felt like it was leading to a big reveal that never happened. Maybe it was to help reveal Vanessa was an Afton, but it wasn't pulled off well if that was the case imo
I understand the purpose of the fort scene with animatronics, but that personally ruined the immersion for me. It genuinely just took me right out of the movie bc it was too silly imo. I did think it was cute af how they all interacted in that scene, but I feel there could've been better ways to show that these are dead kids
Where was Afton this whole movie?? I knew Steve was him the whole time, but I wish they developed his character a bit more. A sad short story from Vanessa was not enough for me to really hate William in this movie
Another thing about Afton is that I wish he showed more fear once he lost control of animatronics. Hell, if not more fearful than at least have him be more threatening?? The lack of character development really hindered this scene imo. Matthew Lillard definitely needed more screen time
Back to first thing kinda, the whole Vanessa Afton reveal was confusing for me. Why make her his child when Mike was in the movie? Michael Afton was such a huge part of the lore, and not being a part of the movie franchise was a bit of letdown for me. It doesn't help I just did not have a reason to care for Vanessa till she revealed who she really was. Like William, I wish we could've gone more in-depth with her character
Mike's dreams were kinda dumb. I get it was a way for him to communicate to the dead children, and so we can see his trauma, but imo it wasn't done very well. It also felt like a slap in the face since the majority of the fan base dogged on the dream theory in the past. Like it seemed like a mean way of teasing more than it felt like a lighthearted kind
Lastly, William having literal control of the kids was really disappointing. Especially with only a picture. Again, the whole picture thing could've worked out a lot better if Afton was in the movie more. Maybe if we could've somehow seen Vanessa drawing the image as a kid and William putting up the artwork to seem like a good dad when in reality it was for his own personal gain or at least something to show he had some part in it. If done correctly, this movie could've really used some flashbacks
To sum it up a bit, I just really wish there was more character development. It was really hard to care or even relate to majority of these characters bc we brushed past things so quickly
Ok, now on to things I liked! ->
Mike Schmidt's character. I thought he was very well developed actually (despite my previous complaints). He (and Abby as well) was one of the couple of characters I really cared for
The actors/actresses. They all played their parts so well. Especially Abby's actress, Josh Hutcherson, and Matthew Lillard (at least when he was on screen lol). I was actually satisfied by their performances
The animatronics. They were stunning. It really was as if they were pulled straight from the game. Jim Henson company really pulled it off. I also loved how expressive they are. Also, SPARKY!! Never thought he would be an Easter egg in the movie, so that was a really cool surprise. From fake screenshot to being on the big screen :')
The Balloon Boy jumpscares. Got me twice and had me giggling. I just know this was Scott being the troll that we all know he is. It so fucking funny. Really brought out the intense hate we all tend to have for that lil fucker 😂
The springlock scene itself. Tho I wish it was a bit more gorey as well as had more expressive emotions, I still really enjoyed it. The animatronics dragging him away to rot for god knows how long movie wise was such a nice touch
Matpat and Corey's cameos. I was so excited seeing them! Esp Matpat. The dude's acting in that one livestream of his had me fully convinced he wasn't in the movie. Then boom, there he was as waiter. A waiter whose name was NESS, btw. Whoever came up with that is a fucking legend 👏🏻
Og TLT fnaf song as the end credits theme. That was such a nice nod to the fans. I'm so glad they added that in. So deserving
THE PUPPETS THEME. Look, I'm a huge fnaf 2 fan, so hearing that had me ascending lmaoooo

SPOILERS DONE
Overall, the movie was meh, and this is coming from someone who went in with low expectations. I'd advise just watching on Peacock (or 🏴‍☠️ it) personally. Don't go in expecting it to be anything similar to the games or even the books cause it's not. Treat it as a separate project. I went in expecting at least some of the basic things we've had confirmed, so I'd enjoy the movie more, but that just didn't work out for me, which is fine 🤷
Also, these are just my thoughts after my first watch. I could totally have a change of heart after another watch or 2. Unfortunately, the first impression was just not a good one, and that happens sometimes. So please don't take what I say to heart as, again, my opinion could change 😅
Overall rating: 5/10
I'm going to watch again at some point, so I'll update if my opinion changes in another post

Anna Kwemto [FNAF AR, Renegade AU]
Tumblr media
https://www.deviantart.com/paigelts05/art/Anna-Kwemto-FNAF-AR-Renegade-AU-1021472367
Published: Feb 18 2024
I started drawing the main characters my AU follows in the FNAF AR segment before the announcement of the end of FNAF AR being in service, so now some of my favourite characters are from lost media. I'm sad I was never able to play the game (my phone didn't support it), but I followed the story bits like an ARG, and found some of my favourite characters, so you can trust me when I say I'll be keeping these characters and their stories alive and running.
CK animatronic maintenance and R&D Robotics contract with Faz Ent has ended, but their stories are far from over.
After the contact's premature closure in 2021 prior to Adelaide ripping through their computer systems using a computer virus as her way in, Faz Ent took until 2024 to take the last of their robots back. By then, the Adelaide incident had happened, the Riot had happened, the Breach incident had happened, the Raid had happened, the Ruins incident had happened, William had been contained, and a couple of years had passed with a plethora of other incidents Anna didn't want to think about. Whilst Anna was only involved in the Adelaide Incident and Raid, her employee, Ness, had been at least somewhat involved in all of them, so they all lived in her mind. The only positive events out of those were the Raid and William's containment, which she always tries to think about whenever she's reminded of Adelaide's mind control attempts, William's kidnapping of Ness, Luis almost dying trying to free Ness, Ness and Ness's sister Sylvia almost dying multiple times, and the Faz Ent execs kidnapping of Ness. Even then, the Raid wasn't all closure and happy memories with the amount of times Ness almost died, and with Luis getting turned into what amounted to a feral assassin by Adelaide? She surprised herself with how well she was coping. And as for William's containment? Bittersweet.
Her mother always told her the best ending wasn't always happy, and now Anna knew what she meant. All her friends were still alive, sure, but nothing would ever be the same again.
But Anna Kwemto would make sure that she would always to everything she could to prevent any harm from coming to her colleagues.

CASSIE HELPING ROXY OVERCOME HER FEAR OF THE DARK 😭
Okay so. This version of Meteors would be set maybe a year or two after Roxy had her eyes stolen with Ruin happening somewhere in the first year. I think by this time she'd be kind of used to it, but given the circumstances, probably still wouldn't like it all that much. Probably more scary to her if she's suddenly plunged into darkness or wakes up to pitch black. Just a general unease if she's in the dark for too long so long as she was prepared for it, ya know?
That's not to say she doesn't get support for her problems with the dark of course. Meteors didn't just remove her blindness and eye problems. She clearly still wants them back in game really strongly so she does get a new pair of eyes in the transformation, but they're not perfect. She has awful light sensitivity and is pretty shortsighted now. She'll just sit around sometimes with her eyes closed or the lights off with a lamp or something to ease her nerves over complete darkness, and bright lights can give her awful headaches. They help her with this with strong, prescription tinted goggles. Glasses don't sit on her face so she has some cool goggles instead. Her room has blackout blinds and they went and got her a shit ton of soft fairylights to hang up around the ceiling so she doesn't have to have the main light on all the time. They get her more cool looking ones for her birthday so she has options for her room, and over time her collection grows and she switches them out fairly regularly.
However, you know what fear she's absolutely not over? Her fear of water. She could never see it before with her fancy eyesight so it stems from a fear of the unknown. If you threw a bucket of water at her for a prank before, she would be more freaked out at the sudden feeling of water, and yet still being unable to see it. It's evolved from dislike and disgust into a fear through staff, guests, and animatronic pranks gone wrong. It freaks her out!! She hates it!!! She's lucky as fuck she's a canine with fur now because she would not be able to handle regular baths and shit!!! Though that comes with a trade-off. Water now feels absolutely awful on her fur. It's now a huge sensory thing for her and all she wants to do is shake it out constantly until she dries off. She finds it fascinating to watch moving water like in rivers or the rain and shit because she's never seen it before, but god damn does she hate it in any other context.
Cassie and her dad could try helping her with that of course! But I don't think they'd ever discover this particular fear until they have to go out in the rain. There's no shoes for dog paws like hers and they don't have an umbrella handy so she's just shaking, all sad and dog whiney :( Cassie and her dad are slowly woking her up to being at least okay with it in small amounts by asking her to help with the dishes all the time. She dries them, after Cassie or her dad wash them so she's microdosing on having wet paws so to speak. She'll get there eventually. The sensory side of course, isn't going to get a lot better over time, but how she feels about water sure can.
The rain situation does make Cassie's dad realise real quick that Roxy needs some sort of shoes. Like sure, she's got fluffy canine paws complete with tough paw pads, but the rain is a real problem. Even when he finds someone that can custom make her some rainboots, the next problem is somehow getting her to wear them. No. She doesn't like wearing them. She thinks they look cool and she loves how good she looks with them but fuck does she feel weird wearing them. She'd get used to them if she wore them more than just when it rains.
Also, when she visists the others in the ruined Plex, they're all so jelly of her cool boots and relieved she's not going to get hurt when she's running around with broken everything everywhere.

Hey, everyone!
So, FNAF movie's finally out, huh? After the original plan to go watch it on 31th October cos HALLOWEEN was ruined by Corona, I went to watch it this week. And seeing it after waiting for months, I'd say it was worth it. Was it the best movie I've ever seen? No. Where were some flaws that could've been easily fixed with a better script. But you know what? The movie's still awesome and I get why fans went crazy for it.
Similarly to Paw Patrol movie review I did some years ago, here are some of my thoughts put together more clearly:
My goodness, the animatronics looked PHENOMENAL
Mike and Abby's story is honestly a tragedy if you think about it: Garrett got kidnapped when Mike was still a kid and Abby was most likely meant to be the "replacement kid" his parents decided to have as a way to "make up" for what happened. But when Abby didn't manage to "fill" that hole, their father killed himself, adding even more to the tragedy that happened.
Adding onto that, Abby's "odd" behavior of not talking to anyone, being mean to Mike and drawing all day is definetly a coping mechanism. Because while her parents provide her with food, a room, art supplies etc, they don't engage with her enough. As such, she's learned not to trust her older brother, doesn't engage with others likely due to distrust and fear and buries her sadness and anger into her drawings(kinda like me during high school due to bullying hehehe....moving on). While she still loves her older brother, provided by the drawings around her room, she prefers to be distant because that's how her family has been, so she is distant as well cos she's learned that's how she's safe.
This could also be the reason Abby liked the animatronics so much and called them her friends: they were nice to her and engaged with her in her games.
Mike was also a good character. He's really, REALLY trying to take care of his sister, but is also stuck in the past trying so hard to figure out what happened that he unwillingly neglects his sister, who needs him to be there, but he doesn't understand it. I'm glad he understood his mistakes in the end and became more apparent in Abby's life. While some writing choices in his arc were a bit weird(such as inviting Aunt Jane to babysit Abby while he could've maybe ringed up someone else knowing Abby doesn't like Jane, as well as accepting giving Abby to the animatronics in exchange for being killed so he can stay with Garrett in the afterlife or something(like, dude, didn't you realize Golden Freddy kid was manipulating with you?!)), it was still a satisfying arc and I'm glad he and Abby are on better terms now.
Fort scene was honestly adorable and, in my opinion, introduced more tragedy to the whole possessed animatronic situation: in FNAF games there's more focus in the horror and anxiety of animatronics finding a way to you and stuffing you in a deadly springlock suit. But in here we get to see a more sad note to it. Yeah, kid soul possessed animatronics are creepy, but at the same time they're still KIDS. While under Afton's control and pissed about their situation so much they murder people, they still retain their playful side and want to do fun things. And so when Abby came to Freddy's and wanted to build a fort, they got to be kids again. Yeah, they still planned on offing her, but you get the point.
Speaking of kids, those child actors, especially the blonde boy, did a PHENOMENAL job. If anyone who worked on the movie production sees this, please buy them the biggest sundaes possible.
Before this movie came out I had zero idea who Matthew Hillard was. And honestly I feel sad about it cos he also did a PHENOMENAL job. Upon seeing the first trailer the way the office scene played out with him sitting there, hands under his chin, it already gave me bad vibes. And later on when he's at the pizzeria and removes his mask, the way he tried to make Afton look with those wide, crazed eyes and that small smirk was so good.
The "I always come back" scene was FINE. Like, had Afton said anything else, the fans would've been disappointed.
Also, maybe Afton knows something we don't? With the second movie coming, we could get more info about his backstory and learn something new. ALSO ALSO, it was a genuine threat. That even if Spring Bonnie suit gets destroyed, he'll never stop trying to find ways to return.
Vanessa was another good character. Yeah, maybe a bit too secretive at times which, as said before, could've been fixed with a better writing, but still good. The idea of her being Afton's daughter was, in my opinion, quite a surprise, but welcomed nonetheless. If you think about it, her being Afton's daughter as well as an police officer helps Afton cover up anything that could lead the law to him. And since he's an asshole of a "father" who abuses and shelters her(Headcanon that he's threatened her with Torture Freddy and/or exposing her as his daughter and a second hand at covering up murders every day since the Original Kid Murders), she doesn't really have anything she can do.
Not that many scares? Honestly not such a big problem people make it up to be. FNAF mostly relies on the terrifying envinorment and jumpscares for the horror. Balloon Boy was still a bastard though and I swear I'll burn him one day and not feel sorry about it.
And I guess that's everything. So, in final conclusion, the FNAF movie is FINE. Yeah, some rough edges could've smoothed out a bit more, but otherwise had a pretty well thought out plot, cool animatronics and a satisfying ending. It's clear they wanted to tell a different story we've grown used to from the video games and comics, which isn't bad cos let's be honest, had it been more similar to the video games, people would've complained about it being "too similar". Will definetly be an experience FNAF fans won't ever forget.
Aaaand that's all. Hope you enjoyed and if you've read the whole thing though, congrats! See you on the flipside!

hi this is the anon before who said their only criticism for tmc was the timeline, but after al3x’s recent twitter qna i suddenly have a few others things i want to say about this series that i’m not sure where to share so i’m going to dump it in your inbox if that’s ok <3
anyway first things first i just want to say i love tmc, it’s one of my favorite analog horror series, i love the characters and the aesthetic, i love getting on discord to watch the newest videos with my friends, but even as my favorite series i’m still willing to criticism it (excluding the timeline thats already a mess).
and lately i’ve been thinking about it after rewatching the latest video a few times and seeing other content creators react to it, i’ve just now realized that the series… doesn’t scare me anymore? maybe its because i’ve been watching it for a while, but probably not because the old videos still ruin my insomnia after i watch them tgouivrfi but aside from that ever since vol4 was released i just haven’t gotten scared by anything presented in the new videos at least once.
like the latest video didn’t give any horror vibes for me especially when adam namedropped god like ok cool (although i did love the sarah+evelin interactions we were given and hope there’ll be more of that duo), and the diary thing just idk its interesting but meh. this is just my opinion tho i hope no one attacks me for it
then i saw al3x say in his qna that vol1 was his least favorite video overall and tbh that… kinda makes me sad? because i still love that video since it still frightens me to this day, and seeing him not like it and make a new version that had some good parts removed + make it less scary just ehh this series really isn’t as frightening to me as it used to be…
its probably because of everything that’s gone with crewdela, with gab3 being fired and the community being infested with minors who want to sanitize horror (and a certain person in the crew who shall not be named) so this is just the end result…
but at the end of the day this is al3x’s series and he’s free to do what he wants with it and i will be seated for vol5, its still an interesting series to watch at the end of the day but just not as scary for me.
anyway sorry for traumadumping LOL /j
ohyah, you're free to info dump w/e thoughts you got! :3
i was honestly in the same boat as you, where tmc used to be my top series of all time cause of the usage of religion here, instead of the cookie cutter aesthetic of haunted animatronics or aliens invading the earth. while rlly not scary to me overall, the unsettling nature behind was enough to spook me!
however, as you've mentioned, it just stopped being scary overall when not only god was namedropped like that but....the intrigue around the series was just gone when "gabriel" revealed who he rlly is after all this time. the reveal happened way too soon, and using the usual "THE DEVIL WAS BEHIND IT ALLLLL" is just eh :/ could have made it where it could have been something else puppeting the body of the archangel gabriel??
and tbh, with how much lore and attention is given to emo fuck ( adam lmao ) here, it's feeling more and more like a damn soap drama that your grandparents would watch lmao nothing rlly horrifying, unsettling, or even violating in the sense that it's supposed to be intimate given the core concept that used to be present in early vids ( there's a reason why intimacy and religion tends to go hand in hand )
all the biblical horror flies out the window when we're seemingly supposed to care about adam here -- i honestly don't give a shit about the guy atp lmao i was here to watch some actual frightening shit, not...this
yeah, alex has mentioned several times that vol 1 wasn't his fave but goddamn, did he just...rlly made the scare factor and nostalgic elements even worse. nothing there to grasp you except "LOOK! THE ANIMATION IMPROVED!! :OOO"
those are my thoughts there lmao x3

Michael kicked rocks as he made his way back home. Home. He didn't wanna go back home. Home was filled with sadness and a big secret only he and Father knew about. It was also filled with that little shit crying all the time. Why? Michael didn't get to cry. Father told him not to. Father told him he didn't get to cry, that crying was for girls and babies, and that Michael needed to be a man.
But Father cried when he thought no one was watching, listening.
Father made him so angry, sometimes Michael wished he could just kick his stupid long legs and run away, maybe over to Uncle Henry's house.
Michael shifted his backpack and held the straps tightly. His head hung low as he thought about how life was at home. Father loved children that weren't his more than he loved the only child that was. That made Michael want to cry. He spent so much time with them, gave them gifts, told them sweet, encouraging words. Why didn't he ever do that for Michael?
Michael felt burning tears welling up in his eyes. No, he couldn't cry, Father would be mad, and then he would love Michael even less.
Love. Michael thought that was a big word. It was a big word like hate. Grown ups always said that hate was a big word, but no one ever said anything about love being a big word. Michael wondered why.
His thoughts were interrupted by a voice.
"Hey, Mike! Wait up!"
He spun around quickly.
It was you, his best friend in the whole world. He smiled softly, a bit weakly, as you ran to catch up with him.
"I thought you had gone home already! By the time I got done with my picture, Mrs. Davidson said you left! Why didn't you wait, we always walk home together!"
Michael shrugged.
"Sorry." He sighed out weakly.
He saw your face fall. He didn't like to see you frowning.
"What's wrong, Mike?"
"Nothing's wrong, I just...."
He trailed off. He didn't know. He didn't know a lot of things, like why Mother had cheated on Father, why Father wouldn't allow him to cry, why Father and Uncle Henry sometimes snuck off together when they thought no one was watching. He had never figured that one out. Maybe they were working on a secret animatronic army base!
Michael sighed again and dropped his head.
"Here, why don't we sit down and we can figure out why you're so gloomy today! We might get home late, and my mom will get mad at me for it, but that's ok! C'mon Mike!"
You sat on a stump near the edge of the tree trail you both walked everyday. Michael followed you, sitting gingerly on the ground and pulling his knees up to his chest.
"So, what's bothering you, my bestest friend in the whole wide world, who always puts his sticky cookie fingers on my notebooks?"
Michael let out a small giggle at that. He thought it was funny to ruin every notebook you had by somehow managing to get his handprints all over the covers. You always screamed and pouted about it, but you never made your mom buy you new ones until your old ones were filled, so he figured it couldn't be that bad.
"I don't know," he sighed, "I just feel, sad. But I can't cry, so I should stop feeling this way, right?"
You tilted your head, utterly bewildered.
"Why can't you cry, Mike? Did someone tell you that you couldn't?"
He nodded.
"Who?"
"Father did, and Father has to be right, he's my father, so I can't cry anymore. I have to grow up and be a man."
He sniffled, tears welling up again. No, he couldn't cry, not in front of his best friend. He didn't want you to call him weak or pathetic or a stupid baby.
He scrubbed at his face.
"Mike, it's ok to cry. I cry all the time."
Michael looked up, small sniffles still escaping him.
"Really?"
"Yeah! You see this Band-Aid?"
You pointed to a Scooby-Doo Band-Aid. Michael nodded.
"I got hurt when I fell out of our big oak tree on Saturday. I scraped up my knee real bad, and I was crying so hard! But my mama came outside with some Band-Aids and she kissed it all better and hugged me and told me it was gonna be ok. So, probably your daddy is wrong, because why would my mama do that if he was right?"
Michael had never thought about that before.
"Father's right, though. No one has done that for me since Mother left."
He hung his head, letting the tears fall this time.
He felt a warmth beside him and then arms wrapping him up in a hug.
"There there, it'll be alright, Mikey."
Your cooing didn't help his sniffles, quickly turning them into full sobs as he hugged back and shook in your arms.
You both sat there for a while, until the sky had turning a bright orange. Michael had stopped crying, his son's reduced back to occasional sniffles.
"We gotta go home now, Mike. My mom's gonna yell at me so much when I get back!"
Michael chuckled a bit.
You hugged each other goodbye and went your seperate ways.
Michael knew love was a big word. Maybe that was a word he could use to describe you.
(This is so long, I'm sorry! Also, I don't know much about the history of Band-Aids, please forgive me)
