yakuza final review?
fhsiaosjhde i love this question!!!!! (spoiler bit is under the cut)
i really do not like the fighting in 4. i will not lie. it’s really fun in the other games (even 3 which is known as blockuza 😭😭😭) and i only enjoyed one fight. in the entire game. in 22 hours of my playing i enjoyed a singular fight, mainly because of how annoying the other ones were. they weren’t necessarily hard, but just very, very tedious and mini-bosses who made me want to kill myself.
the story on the other hand is one of my favourites in the series. 4 protagonists!!!! 4 main characters!!!!! they all had 4 parts each with 4 chapters each and it actually got going pretty quickly. it didn’t drag out at the start like in 3 where for 5 FUCKING CHAPTERS (probably about 6 hours of playing) was housewife simulator and i was debating quitting the game. i will admit i wasn’t 100% at first, but as the story moved on i started to like it even more. the story isn’t as good as 0’s or 2’s (in my opinion) but it’s still a really enjoyable story which has the same amount of silliness as the others. four main characters also meant four final bosses though, though the first three were fine. it’s the just the last one which is really my fault for being annoying. i didn’t have enough money to get recovery items before the point of no return so i crossed my fingers and hoped for the best. managed to get to it by 12am and got steamrolled even after changing to easy. ended up reloading the save and doing the other three fights again, before managing to the the last one first try on normal after all of that. the one fight that i enjoyed was the third boss fight which i actually played properly for once. because i was impatient i did the first two on easy to save time (i did them on normal the first time anyways) but the third one i just played on normal because i enjoy it so much.
all of the big bads weren’t even really big bads, apart from one dickhead who just annoyed me greatly (the last boss). one guy was a police officer pretending to be a yakuza, one was some washed up ass yakuza and the other was the guy who the main main character (of all the other games) made head of their yakuza clan (tojo clan) at the end of 2. he was in a coma for all of 3 and i was screaming at the tv for the whole fight taking the piss out of him. what a clown. he had it coming. he put my favourite character (majima) in jail.
the game took a bit of patience at times, but i would play it again if someone held a gun to my head. i really hate the combat.
i really wish i was able to record my voice along while playing so you could hear the ramblings i go on with. maybe next time.
i think that’s all of my thoughts (spoiler free). now. spoiler time 💥💥💥
Tumblr media
THIS BITCH ON THE LEFT. THIS FUCKING CUNT. he’s the boss fight i actually enjoyed. guy on the right is my favourite character. who daigo put in jail.
I ACTUALLY LIKED HIM AND THEN THIS GAME THE MAN WENT OFF HIS TITS. I MADE HIM SIXTH FUCKING CHAIRMAN OF THE TOJO CLAN AND HE HAS THE FUCKING NERVE TO TRY AND MOLLYWOPP ME. I CANNOT TELL YOU HOW MANY TIMES I WAS (whisper) SCREAMING “STOMP THIS BITCH OUT” AT THE TV. I WAS INSULTING THIS FUCKING WASHED OUT FUCK LIKE IT WAS A SPORT. FUCKER WAS TRYING TO BE RYUJI (antagonist from 2 who wasn’t even that evil). WAS REALLY TRYING TO ACT LIKE HE WASN’T GONNA GET WASHED. BY THE DRAGON OF FUCKING DOJIMA. REALLY TRYING TO ACT LIKE HE WASN’T GONNA GET HIS ASS TIGER DROPPED.
moving on.
Tumblr media
these are the main guys. like damn i love it when we get a lined up shot like this. left to right is: akiyama, saejima, kiryu (main man) and tanimura. that’s also the order of the boss fights. i really like talking to fake chat as well, and i swear i wish i was able to record me fucking ranting on at these bitches. all it takes is one boss fight and it’s me ranting about some random nonsense.
at lot of this game was running back and forth between places which got very boring VERY quickly. unlike in 0, 1 and 2, i did not have a blast all the time playing this. as getting stopped five million times trying to move across the map is actually rage inducing. some of the “boss” fights were just me getting grabbed by their support demons over and over again. i was losing my shit by the end of it. had to go for karaoke a couple of times.
i honestly think that’s all i can say.

☆ Hi, hi!! Look who is my next for questions. What brought you to love Daigo and to pick him up as a muse? Did you love him right away or did it take you a while to warm up to him? What's are the things that irks / makes you a bit uncomfortable about what the fandom does for Daigo and his character as a general? What's something you do differently than everyone else? Do you think Daigo is a decent chairman? What's your favorite dynamics for Daigo (and this can apply to both rping and the games) and your least favorite? Thoughts on Sera or Kashiwagi being the real father to Daigo or do you think Sohei is the real father? Annnnnnnd your thoughts on Kiryu's relationship with Daigo as well as any thoughts on what we missed out on Haruka and Daigo's potential sibling relationship?
Tumblr media
ooc.
Hey, duckie ! Thank you for this ! It’s super cute. I’ll divide the questions as I go to make sure I don’t miss any of them.
01. what brought me to Daigo / did I love him right away The thing that has always drawn me to Daigo is how human he feels. We see him from the time he’s a child to his mid - forties. As an audience, we’re given a glimpse of his highest of highs and his lowest of lows. That always really resonated with me. I did indeed love him right away.
02. things that irk me about how the fandom characterizes Daigo I could write an essay on this. I hate what the fandom does to Daigo. They like to call him a weak or helpless Chairman while ignoring that we only see glimpses of his tenure ; if there weren’t difficulties with the Tojo, there would be no game ; and that other equally as large yakuza organizations have canon problems with civil wars / ambitious power grabs as well. I don’t think Daigo was the right fit for Chairman, but I hate this fandom’s perception that he was useless. If you trace the Clan’s history back well before Daigo, it was already crumbling. What he got handed was barely holding together  ―  really, it’s a marvel that Daigo kept it going as long as he was able to.  Also, I really despise the ‘ Daigo constantly summons Kiryu to fix his problems ’ perception when Daigo regularly goes out of his way to NOT include Kiryu in his schemes. A crucial part of Yakuza 3’s plot is that Daigo is protecting the land that Morning Glory is on ; the last thing he wants is for Kiryu to get involved.
03. what’s something I do differently than everyone else Hm. I suppose the glaring detail between my Daigo and others is how I highlight his struggles with alcohol ( being addicted to it ) and later his sobriety. Why it got as bad as it did, what it meant to him when he was addicted, the journey to becoming sober, his life - long healing from that, etc. I’ve never liked when characters who obviously deal with alcoholism are made magically better ; I would rather take a realistic approach to Daigo’s struggles with his addiction and talk about how hard trying to cope with that was for him.
04. do I think Daigo is a decent Chairman Yes and no. Like I said earlier, I do give him a lot more credit than the fandom does, but I don’t pretend he was perfect. I firmly believe that Daigo should have never been Chairman ; he would have made a much better patriarch with a similar role as Majima : doing what he thought was best for his men and ignoring politics altogether. That being said, I think Daigo did the best he could with his role as Chairman. I hate to pass absolute judgment on him one way or the other due to the complications of the time he held office, but I do think Daigo was handed a hellish hand and pulled out an alright win by the end in spite of it. A wise man would have taken one look at the Clan in his first days and ran away from it. Daigo was stubborn and dedicated enough to stay. ( and, hey, the Clan became huge under him, so he must have done something right there ! )
05. my favorite & least favorite dynamics for Daigo My favorite dynamic by far is Jima³. It helps that Saejima is tied with Daigo for my favorite RGG character. I love that messy found family that’s trying to get by and how they lean on each other for support. In terms of least favorite dynamics, I don’t have much to say. There are certainly fandom ships with him that I’m not fond of, but I believe everyone is entitled to whatever makes them happy.
06. my thoughts on who Daigo’s father is ( Sera, Kashiwagi, or Sohei ) Daigo is Sohei’s child without a doubt as far as I’m concerned. While Daigo certainly takes after Yayoi more, there are a number of similarities between Sohei and Daigo’s features that aren’t present with Sera or Kashiwagi. ( Plus, I’m of the belief that Yayoi was too faithful to Sohei to ever stray. ) Daigo inherited his high cheek bones, nose, and forehead height from Yayoi, but he has Sohei’s eye shape, hair line, mouth, and jaw line / chin shape.
07. my thoughts on Daigo and Kiryu’s relationship I know this puts me in a small percentage of the fandom, but I don’t like it. I think the fandom has a tendency to romanticize this relationship and forget how toxic it was. It’s almost as if Kiryu’s letter to Daigo at the end of Yakuza 6 erased all memory of Kiryu’s wrongdoings toward Daigo. I frankly don’t buy that single sorry fixing everything, particularly when Daigo learns the truth in Yakuza 7. Kiryu constantly is leaving Daigo behind, and we see in Yakuza 2 how much that affects Daigo. He really does see Kiryu as a close parental figure and therefore being shoved to the side hurts him. Yet, he’s willing to do whatever he can to win Kiryu’s favor and becomes Chairman for him  ―  as evidenced when he says in the Yakuza 4 finale that he was trying to lead the Clan for Kiryu at the beginning of his time in office but eventually came to see being Chairman as a way to serve his men instead. I think that at its core the relationship between Kiryu and Daigo is well - intentioned but extremely unhealthy. It’s a constant cycle of Kiryu leaving Daigo or not knowing how to respond to him while Daigo is obviously vying for and missing Kiryu’s attention. Kiryu telling Daigo he was proud of him in person or even giving Daigo a damn hug would have gone a long way toward breaking that, but we’re never shown anything similar.
08. my thoughts on missed potential with Haruka and Daigo’s relationship GIVE ME MORE HARUKA AND DAIGO AS SIBLINGS. I live for that content. I also think that Daigo and Haruka could have helped each other cope with their relationships with Kiryu, as well. There’s a lot of similarities there regarding burdens too big for them being placed on their shoulders ( putting pressure on Haruka to be the ‘ mother ’ / responsible for all of the other kids at Morning Glory when she was barely a child herself was beyond shitty of Kiryu, I won’t be told otherwise ) and feeling abandoned when the Dragon abruptly leaves. I wish we were shown more on - screen time of Haruka and Daigo being allowed to bond. I can only take comfort in believing that after Yakuza 7 they were able to reach out to one another and talk about what they all went through.
Okay, I think that was everything ! Thank you so much for the questions, sweetheart ! ♥

"Are you sure about this, Akiyama-san?”
The loan shark sighed, eyes rolling back into his skull and the urge to turn around to kick the former chairman threatening to surface for long enough for Akiyama to act on it - he wasn’t someone typically prone to violence or any means of physical coercion (unless he was in Kamurocho and idiotic thugs thought it was a nice idea to mug school students or to intimidate the homeless population), but Daigo was getting very close to be on the receiving end of something stronger than just sarcastic words.
The fact that he would probably hilariously fail to land any hit on the older man had nothing to do with Daigo’s superb training regimen (after all, the loan shark was confident he was faster than the ex-chairman) - but more with the dinosaur costume he was wearing at the time, a full-body piece that they had rented earlier on that morning for Kazuya’s birthday party and which was much heavier than he had anticipated - hot, too. Akiyama felt like he was living inside an oven (or a sauna) without the added perks of tasty food or a slimmer body coming out as a result.
Another sigh followed - how had Melissa roped him into this again? Sometimes the loan shark felt that his inclination to readily say ‘yes’ to anything a pretty woman asked of him would be his downfall, and the fact that his own fiancée had fully supported the idea evidently did not help. How could Akiyama fail to please not one, but two goddesses?
“Akiyama-san?”
“Daigo-kun, for the last time - it’s fine. It’s hot, it’s fucking heavy and I cannot grab or hold anything except for... Uh a big ball or something that doesn’t need my thumbs. Shit, no wonder these poor creatures went extinct,” the moneylender went off-track for a bit, but turned around to glance at the former chairman to give him a nod, his head currently the only part of his body still out of costume. The mascot’s head piece - the big, scary tyrannosaurs rex skull with scales - was still in Daigo’s hand, who regarded the younger male as if he had sprouted a pair of horns and it was somehow his fault.
“I cannot help but feel I should be doing this instead,” Daigo said in a quieter tone, colored with such heartfelt sincerity that Akiyama’s anger cooled off for a moment. Gesturing towards his own head, he turned to the wall once more while the other man came closer to him from behind, placing the final piece of the costume over his shoulders and helping the loan shark secure it in place in a way that allowed his eyes to see something - it was hard enough to walk in that, and if Akiyama went about it blindly... His performance as a dinosaur would be cut very short.
“We’ve gone over this when Mel-chan asked me - it would be pretty damn suspicious if you disappeared from the room the moment the dinosaur walked in to surprise Kazu-kun. You think he wouldn’t be dying to show you the fact he’s been visited by a real tyrannosaurs rex? On his birthday? You’d be the first person in that room he’d run to and not finding you there would crush the kid’s heart.”
Akiyama realized then how weird his own voice sounded then - maybe it was because of the head being attached to the costume, but his usual baritone sounded a little bit stuffy, as if he was trying to talk with cotton in his mouth. Clearing his throat in an attempt to ease that feeling, he turned around - slowly, mindful of the tail he knew was somewhere behind him - and found Daigo on the other side of the room.
For two grown up men with so much history between them - including the death and loss of many loved ones - it felt strange to Akiyama that the ex-yakuza still managed to look so fucking solemn when he was dressed from head to toe (literally!) in a red and green dinosaur costume and without the ability to move more than a few inches per step, at the average speed of a snail.
“You’re right - this is about Kazu-kun and I guess... It would be too obvious if either of his parents dressed up. You have a point,” Daigo said with a nod, and Akiyama attempted to give him both thumbs up for that moment of clarity of his formal rival-turned-friend... And ended up more like waving at the other man, but he supposed it was good enough. Besides - Melissa knew her husband well when she asked the loan shark for help instead - Daigo wouldn’t have been able to change his voice or act silly in front on a crowd for two seconds without crashing from the embarrassment.
Akiyama Shun, on the other hand... The younger male had not yet decided if he was flattered at the perception of his friend that he was not daunted by any challenge or if he should be offended by the notion Melissa thought he made a great mascot for children’s birthday parties.
“Thank you for doing this, Shun. I appreciate it.”
“...I can’t believe you, Dojima.”
“What?”
“Any other day I’d be happy you’ve finally dropped the ‘Akiyama-san’ act as if you’ve met me yesterday... But today,” he inhaled sharply, closing his eyes for a moment and channeling his inner reptilian self - what meant speaking in a higher octave than he normally did in addition to striking a pose out of nowhere - Kiryu had once told him of his adventures as a mascot in Hiroshima, so Akiyama thought he’d try the same, “Today you must call me Rex-kun. Don’t ruin this, Dojima - otherwise your wife will feed me to the fish from Tokyo Bay.”
And there was it - Daigo’s facial expression molded instantly into something unexpected, and he broke into a hearty, loud laugh. The ex-chairman’s voice was booming inside the small room at the Dojima estate they had used for Akiyama to dress up, and for a moment, Akiyama wondered whether Kazuya wouldn’t find them with his father making such a ruckus - but when the door opened, it was Melissa on the other side - she was about to ask questions, but a look at the full costume quieted her and replaced her confusion with a knowing grin.
“All set, Mel-chan - bring me to the birthday boy,” Akiyama said while moving forward, steps slow and hesitant, and he could swear his friend was holding back laughter while she guided him, Daigo still sniffling and recovering from the episode of earlier, “You two are rewarding me one day. Big time.”

Could you do a Daigo and Majima x Pluz size/ thick S/o?? Nobody really writes about the + size community, so this would be greatly appreciated for me🥰🖤
YES YES YES, I agree with you! I'm on the chubby side so I do hope that there are more plus-sized readers to read about!
I hope you like these! So sorry for the wait! ^^
Daigo and Majima with Plus-Size S/O HCs
Tumblr media
Majima
He loves plus-sized people. (although he acts a bit harsh to chubby men, he has to admit)
Unlike some people, he doesn't look down upon them. He doesn't care about weight unless it's threatening the life of that person and he thinks that should be the same for other people.
He knows full well how others treat chubby people and he's a bit miffed by it. Why are you so offended? Why do you care?
Even if you're not his S/O, he'd gladly argue that you're fine the way you are.
"The hell ya mean they should get a diet? Ya don't have the right to comment about their body, ya disrespectful bastard."
When you're together and hear some rude comment about your body, Majima would look so pissed that they immediately back off the moment they see his face.
After that interaction, it would lead Majima to think if this is what you have to deal with daily.
"Tsk, what kind of bullshit are they spouting? You're gorgeous."
"It's fine, Majima. I'm used to it."
Majima knows the feeling of being in this situation with his eye, and like you, he was also used to it. Yet the fact that you were so used to getting told this makes him feel angry for you.
If you're planning on getting rid of your body fat, Majima would support you and would even join you to encourage you. It's hard to do that alone so he's there for you when you need it.
However, if you were fine with being chubby then he was okay with it as well.
He'd give you outfits that would fit you, and if it's difficult to find one your size, he'll get someone to make some for you.
If Majima notices that you feel insecure about the way you look, he'd either crack a joke about himself or ask what's wrong.
"Oh baby, ya look like a deity compared to me, I look like a saggy old pirate...though I do look handsome in the morning."
He'd definitely hype you up as well, he's your own personal hype man.
The Majima Family is tired of hearing him brag about you, like, please Majima-san, we know your S/O is good looking but we really need to talk about this- *insert yakuza task*
Overall, he loves you for all of you and is one of your biggest supporters.
Daigo
Daigo doesn't necessarily have a type but plus-sized people make him feel particularly flustered. Even in his younger years.
He's not very good with words but his expression whenever he hugs you or touches you says everything you need to know.
He really likes cuddling with you but he would rather die than admit it.
"What do you mean my face is red? I'm not, shut up." Daigo muttered, his face indeed turning red while he wraps his arms around you.
People don't comment about your weight when he's around because he's the Chairman of the Tojo Clan, and they better not comment when he's gone because he would instantly hear about it. Daigo rarely shows his anger but it's scary when he does. A single death glare can shut them up real quick.
Whenever he sees you getting insecure by other people, he honestly wishes that he was more like Majima and Kiryu, or even Akiyama. Daigo doesn't like the fact that you don't see how attractive you are in his eyes due to the words of others and he's aiming to do something about it.
He doesn't let his men protect you and is the one to personally protect you. If you need it, of course. Daigo knows you can handle yourself but it doesn't stop him from worrying a bit.
Aside from cuddles, he also likes that you eat a little more if you got chubby because of food, he secretly likes to cook and eat with you because it feels domestic. The thought of getting married to you gets him so shy and he usually thinks about it whenever you're sleeping beside him.
He doesn't mind if you got your weight from genes and would comfort you if you feel bad about it, especially if you're trying to lose weight.
"I understand it's difficult, Y/N. Don't worry, I'm here."
Like Majima, whether or not you would like to lose weight, he would support you with your decision. He just wants you to be happy.

Mine & Daigo - Kirin’s Dream [RGGO]
To celebrate Y3 soon becoming available on the PC, have some RGGO-approved MineDai angst :D This 2-part Event is different from the previous ones I translated, because instead of scratchcard/lottery tickets, the goal is beating Mine up 100 times!
It’s not necessary to understand this, but if you haven’t read it, check out Mine’s Character Story because that’s where they first become drinking buddies :D
Tumblr media
(Just look at this weirdly-textured taxi that Mine left Daigo! )
Mine: “I’m giving you all my taxi companies in my will, Daigo-san, because I love you.”
Daigo: “Haha, you mean like family, right? :D ”
Note: “惚れこん” according to the various dictionaries I’ve checked means “fell in love with”, “is charmed by”, “deeply admire”, or “has a strong attachment to”. I went with “enamored” because that seemed like a good blanket word for all that. (Just saying this before someone accuses me of purposely making this shippy XD ). Also, the “hot” that Daigo says is “temperature hot”. I’m leaving it as is because the last time I tried wording it as “burning hot”, it just ended up sounding more suggestive lol
 .
PROLOGUE
.
March 2009. A few hours before Kiryu and Mine have their final battle . . .
Tumblr media
Mine: “How soon before we arrive at Toto University Hospital?”
Hakuho Clan Member: “I think we’ll be there in about 15 minutes.”
Mine: “I see.”
{Mine’s phone rings.}
Tumblr media
Mine: “Hello, this is Mine.”
Richardson: “It’s me, Richardson. Have you arrived in Tokyo yet?”
Mine: “Yeah, I just came back from Okinawa. I’m heading now to Toto University Hospital where Chairman Dojima is hospitalized, based from your information.”
Richardson: “ O  K  . Do you know what to do once you get to the hospital?”
Mine: “Of course. I will end Chairman Dojima by my hands. Afterwards, I will take over the development plan of Okinawa as the successor of the Tojo Clan. You can do as you wish.”
Richardson: “Very well. But I worry if you can actually do it.”
Mine: “What?”
Richardson: “You were very fond of Dojima Daigo. More than anyone I’ve ever met. Is it really possible to have a change of heart right before you kill?”
Mine: “. . . A bedridden Dojima Daigo is useless as long as he is alive. I’ll pull the curtain close on him. That’s all there is.”
{The phone call ends.}
Tumblr media
Mine: “. . .”
Hakuho Clan Member: “Um, Chairman Mine?”
Mine: “What?”
Hakuho Clan Member: “Do you really want to kill Chairman Dojima?”
Mine: “. . .”
Hakuho Clan Member: “Though you told Richardson otherwise, I’m well aware that you are enamored with Chairman Dojima. Can you really do it once you arrive at the hospital?”
Mine: “You talk too much. Shut up.”
Hakuho Clan Member: “Pardon me . . .”
{The car keeps driving until Mine spots a certain bar outside.}
Mine: “! . . . Oi, park the car.”
Hakuho Clan Member: “Eh? But we’re not at the hospital yet?”
Mine: “It’s fine, stop here.”
{The car stops.}
Mine: “. . . I didn’t think I’d pass here by chance. I’m going out alone for a while. You guys stay in the car.”
Hakuho Clan Member: “Understood.”
----
Tumblr media
Bartender: “Welcome . . . what’s this? Isn’t this Mine-san?”
Mine: “It’s been a long time, bartender.”
Bartender: “It’s rare for you to come alone. Usually you’re with Chairman Dojima.”
Mine: “I happened to go past the bar so I stopped by. I wanted a moment to think in a calm place . . .”
Bartender: “Is that so. I heard that the Tojo Clan is having a lot of trouble due to the shooting of Chairman Dojima. So please take your time. Mine-san’s favorite is bourbon, right?”
Mine: “Yeah. Please give me one drink.”
----
Tumblr media
Mine: “Phew . . . thank you for the break.”
Bartender: “So, is Daigo-san safe?”
Mine: “. . . No. He still hasn’t regained consciousness after getting shot.”
Bartender: “Is that right. I hope he’ll get well soon so you can drink together again.”
Mine: “. . .”
Mine: “Thank you, bartender. Thanks to the drink, I’m able to calm down. I’ll be taking my leave . . .”
Bartender: “. . . Mine-san. Wait a minute. Can you take a look at this?”
Mine: “What is it? What about that bottle?”
Bartender: “This bottle was previously brought by Chairman Dojima, asking me to store it in the bar.”
Mine: “Chairman Dojima?”
Bartender: “Yeah. When the Chairman brought this liquor, he said this: ‘I got some good liquor, so please store it here so I can drink it with Mine next time.’”
Tumblr media
Mine: “!”
Bartender: “That person really thinks of the Tojo Clan as his own family. Even when he comes here to drink alone, that’s all he talks about. Talking with worry or with pride . . . Of course, he talks about you often.”
Mine: “Chairman is . . . what is the Chairman saying about me?”
Bartender: “’Is he being too careful in front of me? Is Mine’s impression of money really okay? I’m just worried. Still, there is no one in the Tojo Clan now as reliable as he is.’ . . . is what I remember him saying.”
Mine: “The Chairman said all that . . .”
Bartender: “Even if he is unconscious now, Chairman Dojima will wake up and be able to come back someday. Mine-san thinks so too, right?”
Mine: “. . . . . . I believe in that person’s return . . . is there a way to wait, I wonder?”
Bartender: “Hm? Did you say something?”
Mine: “. . . No, it’s nothing.”
{Mine’s phone rings.}
Tumblr media
Mine: “Hello, this is Mine.”
Richardson: “Richardson. New information about Kiryu Kazuma has been obtained. Apparently he has also learned about Dojima Daigo’s whereabouts. It seems he is heading there from Okinawa now.”
Mine: “! Kiryu is going to Chairman Dojima too . . . Alright. I’ll be at the hospital soon.”
{The phone call ends.}
Bartender: “What happened, Mine-san? You made a scary face . . .”
Mine: “. . . Thank you very much for telling me all this, bartender. It’s time for me to go. I’ll drop by the bar again soon.”
Bartender: “Ah~ I’m sorry, Mine-san. This bar is about to close down.”
Mine: “Really?”
Bartender: “Yes. Sales have been scarce these days, so I’ve been thinking if it was time to withdraw. That’s why I finally served this bottle. I was wondering if you would like to drink it for Chairman Dojima as well.”
Mine: “. . . No. The Chairman prepared that bottle to drink together with me. I can’t drink it alone.”
Bartender: “Is that so. But now there’s a problem. I can’t leave this as it is . . .”
Mine: “. . . Bartender. Regarding that, I have a suggestion.”
Bartender: “A suggestion?”
----
Tumblr media
Hakuho Clan Member: “We’ve been waiting for you Chairman. The car is waiting on the street. Please go this way.”
Mine: “Heh. What I did . . . I had a faint little dream.”
Hakuho Clan Member: “Chairman?”
Mine: “It’s nothing. Kiryu is heading to Toto University Hospital. We’ll snuff him out together with Chairman Dojima.  . . . Let’s go.”
.
-END-
.
EPILOGUE
.
A few weeks after the end of the decisive battle between Mine Yoshitaka and Kiryu Kazuma.
Tumblr media
Tojo Clan Member: “Congratulations on your discharge, Chairman Dojima.”
Daigo: “Yeah, thank you.”
Tojo Clan Member: “The car will pick you up by the entrance. Please head there . . .”
----
Tumblr media
Daigo: “. . .”
Tojo Clan Member: “What’s wrong, Chairman? Even though you’ve been discharged from the hospital, you’re wearing a heavier look on your face. Are you still feeling ill?”
Daigo: “No . . . I still can’t believe it. That Mine could have caused such an incident . . .”
Tojo Clan Member: “I see, is it about Mine Yoshitaka? The Chairman believed that man to be like family. But he tried to kill the Chairman.  . . . An unforgivable traitor, if you ask me.”
Daigo: “The Mine I knew was serious and wise, yet he is a hot man at his core. Why did Mine do such a thing . . . Was the Mine I knew the ‘real Mine’?”
Tojo Clan Member: “Chairman . . .”
Daigo: “I’m sorry. Change your destination.”
Tojo Clan Member: “Eh? But the Tojo Clan Headquarters is preparing to celebrate your discharge . . .”
Daigo: “It’s bad, but I feel like drinking alone now. Head to my usual bar.”
Tojo Clan Member: “Understood. If the Chairman says so . . .”
----
Tumblr media
Daigo: “Long time no see, bartender.”
Bartender: “Ah, well if it isn’t Chairman Dojima! Has your body already recovered?”
Daigo: “Yeah, I left the hospital today. So I came here for a drink.”
Bartender: “Is it okay to be discharged from the hospital and drink alcohol so soon?”
Daigo: “The alcohol I drink here is better for my body than the medicine I was drinking at the hospital.”
Bartender: “Heh, alright. Would you like your usual for now?”
Daigo: “Yes, please.”
----
Tumblr media
Daigo: “Phew~ . . . the alcohol soaks into my throat after a long time.”
Tumblr media
Daigo: “. . .”
Bartender: “Something wrong?”
Daigo: “I was thinking about Mine . . .”
Bartender: “Is that so. I heard he died.”
Daigo: “I was thinking the whole time I was hospitalized. What kind of man was Mine, really . . . I’ve always believed him to be family. But what was I to him . . . I still don’t understand it.”
Bartender: “So that’s what’s troubling you. Chairman Dojima . . . actually, Mine-san had come to this bar by himself before he died.”
Daigo: “What? What did you two talk about?”
Bartender: “We talked a lot. About how you thought of the Tojo Clan as your family . . . We also talked about this bottle that you brought.”
Daigo: “. . . Oh, is that the bottle I asked you to set aside for me to drink with Mine?”
Bartender: “I told you this before, that I’ve been thinking of closing this bar soon due to financial difficulties.”
Daigo: “Yeah.”
Bartender: “But if the bar closes, I can’t keep this bottle in here. That’s why I decided to have Mine-san drink it, and at the time I served him this bottle. However, Mine-san didn’t drink it. ‘The bottle was prepared by the Chairman to drink with me, I cannot drink it alone,’ he said.”
Daigo: “. . . that sounds just like Mine.”
Bartender: “So when I was wondering what to do with this bottle, Mine-san offered a suggestion.”
Daigo: “A suggestion?”
Bartender: “’I’ll buy the bar and help you, so don’t close it down,’ he told me.”
Tumblr media
Daigo: “! Why did Mine make such a proposal?”
Bartender: “At the time, Mine also said: ‘This place has my last memories of drinking with Daigo-san . . . so I want to keep it around forever.’”
Daigo: “Mine did that . . . . . . Thank you, bartender. It was nice listening to Mine’s story. So with Mine gone, are you planning to close down the bar after all?”
Bartender: “No, I decided not to close down the bar.”
Daigo: “Eh?”
Bartender: “Mine-san and Daigo-san . . . I thought it would be a bit hard to bear to lose the place of your memories. I’ve found a bank that would loan to me, so I’ll keep it going.”
Daigo: “I see . . . Thank you very much, bartender.”
Bartender: “So, Chairman Dojima. What will happen to the bottle you were supposed to drink with Mine-san? Do I open it here so you can drink it now?”
Daigo: “. . . No, don’t. If Mine didn’t drink it, then leave it as is.”
Bartender: “Understood. Then I’ll put it back on the shelf.”
Daigo: “. . . Really . . . so he was the same one I knew until the end . . .”
Tumblr media
Daigo: “. . . You’re a big idiot . . . . . . Mine . . . !!”

so, i have been thinking about this for a few days, i have a request if that's ok!!! how dadjima would react to important milestones/firsts his child goes through in life, from things like first smile, learning to crawl (aka becomes a little menace), first steps, first word, first day of school, to things a teen/adult goes through like graduating high school/college, getting their dream job, marriage (him having to walk them down the aisle 😭), to them having their own child
Ohhh this is gonna be long and sappy 🥺️💗 But it does go well with the screenshots I just took... 👀 My thoughts under the cut!
Tumblr media
Don’t want to start with heartache right off the bat but... I think those first few milestones like first smile and first laugh, Majima’s likely to miss. His work isn’t exactly the kind that affords paternity leave (maybe only with Daigo as chairman could he get a few days off) and a yakuza office is no daycare. So those really very first events are gonna have to be surprises waiting for him when he gets home.
But the moment he hears his child’s laugh, his new goal is to figure out how to hear it again. And again. Maybe they’re amused when he pulls faces, or puts on a squeaky voice to impersonate their favourite stuffed toy. Or maybe it’s something as simple as dad yawning or putting on his eyepatch in the morning that makes them break into a grin. Either way, he’s living for it 💙
Once they learn to crawl, it’s game over for all the floors and carpets in Majima’s house. Not only are they now highways and playgrounds for the little one, but half of the time dad’s also sprawled on them, acting as the largest “teddy bear” any kid could want. An interactive one, too. He’ll be on the floor idly surfing through TV channels while his child climbs all over him, chews on his hair or tugs at his chain. Speaking of chewing, Majima’s gonna have to take extra care where he leaves his family pins, because a teething baby will want to explore everything with their mouth first! Still, for the precious little time that he gets to spend at home, he wants to be near them and give them his full attention. If his son or daughter inherits his love for mischief and their horsing around gets a little destructive... well ok it’s “bad”, but objects are replaceable. Moments spent together are not. 💙
But, by the time they grow older, going outside to play with kids their age is a welcomed break. He’s a little worried about their safety, as any parent would be, but he’s all for giving them their independence. Besides, he knows he’s been discreet enough about mixing work and family that a kidnapping isn’t likely, although it doesn’t hurt to have a Majima family member on the watch, just in case.
First day of school is a big milestone! Majima spends some time going over what advice he could give his kid to help them “survive” the occasion... “If anyone talks crap about you, dish it back”? Not quite...
How about just a “Relax, kiddo. Smile and make lotsa friends, all right? It’ll be over before ya know it and daddy’ll be there to take ya home.”
And Majima’s right about that. He’ll be there to hold their little hand as he walks them to and from school, passing nonchalantly by the other parents who’re clearly whispering about them. He’s not dressed as outrageously as usual, but it’s not hard to guess his profession just by looking at his face...
He doesn’t deign even glaring back, though. He’s got no time for gossipers, not when the little one is clinging to him so hard, almost on the verge of tears. It’s a tough experience, being left alone with so many strangers and, clingy as he is himself, Majima almost feels like asking if he can attend class too. But he can’t let emotions get the better of him, so he gives them one last pat and a kiss on the cheek before sending them off 💙 As time passes, he comes to appreciate the independence they gain even more. That’s something he’s personally struggled with all his life, with times when he was so self-sufficient that it bordered on loneliness and times when he was trapped by rigid rules and hierarchies... If his child finds a good path in life, something they’re passionate about, a group of close friends they can rely on and - of course - the unconditional love and support of their family, then Majima’s more than happy to settle into the proud dad role.
He’s there looking dapper for all their graduations and when they get the job they were dreaming of for so long? Best opportunity to treat them to a fancier than usual dinner, along with a gift he’s been planning for ages... Jewellery, if they’re into that, a car, if they drive. Anything they may have expressed interest in, he’s making it happen.
He knows that soon enough they’re gonna have their own spending money and be reluctant accept lavish presents from dad, but gift-giving is his love language and there’s no teaching an old dog new tricks... Though speaking of, they have no idea just how many tricks this dog knows! Imagine his daughter talking about the kind of work she’ll be doing at her new workplace and Majima goes: “Hey, that sounds kinda like what I was doin’ back in... ehh, what year was it again? Sittin’ in front a computer all day... farmin’ those online games for cash... Close enough, right?”
Yeah... let’s say it is. 😄
Now, whoever his kid intends to marry, there’s gonna be that moment when they meet the parents... And Majima doesn’t intend to beat around the bush. He wears his pin and his sternest expression, not deliberately because he wants to scare them, but just because he’s trying to gauge what kind of person they are. He’s gotten good at reading people over the years and he intends to make a few things clear: he isn’t your typical “Sunday barbecue, baseball game on TV” father in law (though he’ll happily play you a few balls at the batting cages). Neither is his a family you marry into hoping to take advantage of its influence or make a quick buck. It’s a cliche by this point, but yeah, they’ve gotta be serious about marrying his son or daughter. And his baby’s gotta be certain about it too. But ultimately, if they’re happy... then who is he to stand in the way? You mention Majima walking them down the aisle, but I’m not certain he’d like to see it as him “giving away” his kid to someone else. They were never his to possess, he’s merely glad he was able to raise them as a strong adult whose choices and destiny are nobody’s but their own. Nevertheless, they’ve got his blessing, in the form of a tight hug and a face full of kisses just before the big moment. 💙
Finally, what we’ve all been waiting for... grandbabies! Okay maybe it’ll surprise you to know that Majima hasn’t really been waiting for it. If at any point you were to ask him if he’s ready to be a grandpa, his immediate response would be “Haw? I’m way too young for that!”
...Is he, though? 😗 He’ll only be grumbly about it while the prospect is far, far away... but one day his kid calls home to announce there’s a baby coming and Majima changes tune so fast. By this point I’m assuming he’d be well into his 60s, with only minimal work responsibilities now that the time of yakuza has waned. Winding down, whiling away the days with uncle Saejima, like “a couple of farts”, as the latter would put it. He’s got the time and you bet he’s still got tons of love to shower upon a tiny grandson or granddaughter. I’ll even do you one better, twins 👀 One to hold in each arm, both happily cooing into his chest... And later on, one to sit on each leg, while the toddlers squabble over who gets the eyepatch side. Grandpa’s blind spot is, after all, the perfect spot for launching toy dinosaur attacks... 😌
The only way he gets them to sit still is by recounting his 80s adventures.
“Did grandpa ever tell ya when he took down a whole buildin’ full ‘a nutters in pyjamas?”
The real events are wacky enough on their own, but since Majima’s forgotten some of the details over the years, he embellishes them even further.
“They had this spell that put ya to sleep the second they sang it... ‘n they were gonna take over the world with it! It’s true, yer grandpa was there!”
Looking at their wide eyes and their fascinated little expressions, Majima’s chest swells with an emotion he truly, truly, never thought he’d get to feel. Contentment, a slow, simmering kind of happiness that comes from knowing he loves and is loved... that he’s left his mark on this world 💙

( for Xiuying )
It was supposed to be a normal lunch outing between friends. Daigo and Xiuying both worked so frequently that the instances in which their free time overlapped were rare treasures. Except, one hour into their jovial exchange, Daigo's phone began to incessantly ring. He tried to ignore the noise, the face of his watch lighting up, but inevitably had to politely excuse himself.
Moments later, Daigo returned to their table. He sighed when he sat, hand resting under his chin. It was difficult to tell if he was angry, amused, or both, though he certainly was agitated.
"That was Tsukumo," Daigo eventually said, reaching for his glass. "It would seem both of our significant others and Sugiura-san are currently being held by Ijincho police for trespassing, forced entry, and potentially destruction of property - depending on what the construction site owner says."
The ex - yakuza crossed his arms in exasperation, though he couldn't help but grin. "Well, it looks like my evening is spoken for. You're more than welcome to join me on this field trip, if you'd like, my friend."

Tumblr media
Peace.
That's all Xiuying asked for. At least, for the day. The week been hectic for her. She figured the little hang out with Daigo could prove to relieve her of what happened. A nice meal for lunch. A little casual talk over whatever it is. From work to just catching up on things.
Sadly, she was proven wrong.
No peace would occur, especially when the ex-chairman had gotten up and take a phone call. Xiuying didn't mind. Her first thoughts were an urgent call from work to talk about something. Nothing to get concerned about. Even when she watched Daigo come back with the most unpleasant look on his face, indicating that something is wrong. Perhaps he has to get back to the office. Perhaps there is an issue needed to be fixed.
The words rolling off of his lips were nothing the Oracle owner's had expected.
The fact that Sugiura, Yagami, and Kaito had trespassed into a construction area, forced their way into the place, and causing destruction. Not surprising given the trio had a habit of doing something along those lines, especially for Yagami's plans. To get caught and be at the station!?
Xiuying realized how tightlh her grip on her cup of water is. To the point her knuckles turned white from the looks of it. Loosening her hand, she placed the cup down gently and flexed out her aching fingers carefully. All from holding it tightly. Her gaze closed briefly before opening to land on the ex-chairman.
❝I would love to join you on that little adventure of yours. It seems like they need some company.❞ Slowly pushing herself up, Xiuying lowered her hand to her side. Despite the smile that graced her lips, there seemed to be a glint in those eyes of hers. One told that she might end up scolding Kaito way more than usual for getting himself caught.
The other two? She'll scold them as well, but not as much as she to that man. Being that she is dating the guy and all.
❝Lead the way and I shall follow.❞ A step around the table to indicate that she's ready to go. ❝Say, did Tsukumo say anything about what they were doing?❞

Eye Contact (A Majima Goro Imagine)
A/N: Hey guys, I’m back with another piece here. I’m not sure if you like it. I just felt the need to write this piece since I’m so hooked into this Yakuza/RGG fandom (And I’m not even disappointed about it! IT’S ONAST TO BE IN THIS FANDOM). This one-shot does not adhere to any of the Yakuza/RGG canon timeline and obviously, as a work of fanfiction this is just my idea of what I want in my story.
Prompt: So basically, as the daughter of Masaru Sera, named Miharu, you were with Madam Dojima having tea in the garden when the Mad Dog of Shimano caught your attention… Fandom: Yakuza / Ryu Ga Gotoku Pairing: (Fem) Reader X Majima
Type: One-Shot, SFW.
Word count: 1115
“It’s nice to have you back home Miharu,” said Madam Dojima as she sets her cup of tea on the table.
“Yes, a lot of things have changed while I’ve been gone, I see.” Miharu replies.
Though deep down, nothing beats the feeling of relief and serenity breathing in the air of one’s own home country after living abroad for 7 years. The mother tongue you spoke that was foreign in the ears of your newfound friends overseas suddenly sounded normal amongst the crowd in the bustling streets of Harajuku the night your former high school friends decided to throw you a ‘Welcome Home’ party. Despite all this, you were also saddened at the fact that the vendor of your favourite Takoyaki stall has passed on and that it is no more. Even the club you used to snuck into as a teenager with your friends to party has closed down – rumoured to have been wrecked by loan-sharks and the owner has never been seen since.
Bittersweet at all the newfound facts of your birthplace learned over the span of the few days after you’ve landed, your father, Masaru Sera asked you to accompany him to the Tojo headquarters which you just accepted because you really wanted to spend time with your father and learning a thing or two about the trade your family is in. While you would never attend the meetings, you usually stroll around the place and that was when you bumped into Madam Yayoi Dojima, widow of the infamous Sohei Dojima and invited you over to the gardens for a tea session.
Whenever Madam Dojima was around, she always manages to leave you in awe with her poise and elegance – not to mention how beautifully she dons shimada hairstyle with the kimono. You respected her and she takes a liking towards you as well since you and her son Daigo have been childhood friends. Not much is known of Daigo’s whereabouts, which leaves Madam Dojima completely disheartened. You then diverted the conversation into more light-hearted topics such as your stay abroad.
“You know, there are days when I absolutely crave a warm bowl of homemade Gyudon just like the ones you used to make. While I could make them myself, there’s just missing ingredients that I can’t find there unlike here.” you said.
Madam Dojima smiled at the remark and said, “Well then, why not stop over my home one day and I’ll have it made specially for you. You know, just like those days when Daigo and you were still children.”
Realising how the topic went back to Daigo, you pinched yourself beneath the table for your stupidity only to get startled by someone’s howling laughter from across the gardens you and Madam Dojima were at. Madam Dojima, startled yet still collected placed a hand over her chest after hearing such howl. There were voices of people not far from where the both of you are.
You turned to try and locate the owner who made such ruckus in a peaceful place (but you also noted that being a daughter whose father is involve in the Yakuza; the leaders can come in all sorts of whack personalities. The weirdest one for you was Awano. But sadly, he died.)
“Hmmph,” Madam Dojima said shaking her head and sighed displeasingly.
“Who was that Madam?” you asked scrutinising your face showing discontent at the sudden disruption of tranquillity.
“That, my child, is the patriarch to a family whom if the Tojo Clan is without, will not survive against the Omi Alliance. You should know who” She replied coyly.
You were still trying to see who the man was and why on Earth would he crack a maniacal laughter like that. You only saw the top of head of the little crowd behind the bushes from where the both of you sat but once they came into view as they were about to exit the headquarters’ entrance, you noticed who the family Madam Dojima was talking about.
Amidst the crowd of scrawny men – whom you assumed was the patriarch’s members, stood the patriarch himself in snakeskin designed jacket and leather pants.
You only heard about him through your father and the stories he would sometimes share with you regarding the time he nearly died after being shot trying to save a blind lady who was hunted by the entire yakuza organisation like hungry vultures; yet you have never seen the man in person yourself.
Perhaps, today is my lucky day? You thought to yourself about finally getting to see the legendary Shimano no Kyoken in the flesh. Not that you want to ever interact with him, but you would prefer to just know how he looks like.
The man in the snakeskin jacket stopped his tracks and then turned his gaze towards the gazebo where you both sat – as if he noticed the presence people besides his own men. You were surprised to see that he wore an eyepatch on his left eye. He bowed to the both of you and you saw that Madam Dojima did the same. You returned the formality and the next thing you know, you made eye contact with the Goro Majima himself. Rendered taken aback and nervous a bit, you turned to look elsewhere immediately and then to Madam Dojima again, pretending not to be affected by the accidental occurrence. You sure felt a chill in your bones and a slight shiver down your spine but you know that you will not being seeing him again. And you made sure of that deep down in yourself.
You continued conversing with Madam Dojima as the Majima Family walked out of the headquarters. Hoping your father will be done with the meeting as well.
 ***
The drive back from the Tojo Headquarters was silent as he stared blankly at the view of the city. While he was proud of what he did today during the meeting, he was burning with curiosity; not that he usually cared. But there was something about the lady that sat beside Yayoi Dojima that makes him wonder.
      “Oi, Nishida,” he says.
“A-ah, yes, Oyaji?” the driver behind the wheel timidly replied.
“Say, did ya notice that there’s a woman sitting next to Mrs. Dojima just now?”
“Y-yes, yes I noticed.” Nishida replied.
“D’ya know who she is?” Majima asked as he scooted and prodded his head forward.
      “If I’m not wrong myself… she’s the 3rd Chairman’s daughter.”
“Sera’s daughter huh?” Majima asked again.
      “Yup, Oyaji” Nishida replied.
“’Aight. Shut yer trap and keep drivin’.” Majima said as he slumpped back against the car seat and continued pondering on that woman he saw in the garden.

Thanks for reading! I hope you liked it. I don’t know if I should just keep this as a one-shot or series xD. Anyways, my questions box is always open so feel free to submit ideas and questions~ Stay safe and stay hydrated friends!

Hey, it’s me again! ^_^ I hope I don’t bother you too much with my requests, but your posts are so cool I just can’t help it. Upon completing Yakuza 4 I’ve had a lot of thoughts and feels about Daigo and how his character was handled across the series. To be honest, at first I didn’t like him much, because he seemed pretty bland (and his screen time leaves much to be desired), but soon enough he’s really grown on me. What is your opinion on him if you don’t mind me asking?
I definitely do not mind requests! Meta is my bread and butter c: I’ve just been busy for a few days, sorry ^^; And... my opinions on Daigo are not going to be as mindblowing or exciting as my opinions on Kiryu, I’ll be real ^^; And there’s a big advantage in Kiryu being the protag, All of the content is about him ^^; I do love Daigo, I think he’s a super interesting character, but his tragedy is just what you pointed out, he’s underutilized. And he isn’t set up very well to have the position he holds.
But, so saying, let’s get into my essay on Daigo ^^;
So, we meet Daigo properly in game 2. There’s little side stories with baby Daigo in Zero which helps build Daigo’s and Kiryu’s relationship and set up for what would later happen, but we don’t really know him until game 2. And game 2 is a LOT about Daigo and his arc and what he’s meant to be! There’s a tumblr text post meme somewhere with a pic of Daigo depressed in his little puffy white coat that says “And I’ll probably become the next chairman of the Tojo Clan. Things like that just happens to guys like me.” and that is totally accurate! Like, it’s a funny thing to complain about, but that’s obviously the struggle Daigo’s having, understanding from a young age that it was obviously his destiny to succeed Sohei, the only problem is uh... well... Kiryu.
I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but Dojima Sohei never became chairman of the Tojo Clan. And that’s really wild thinking back to Zero and how powerful he was, he was all but a shoo in for chairman. But then, uh... Kiryu. Kiryu happened. Kiryu, and Majima I should say, are the reason Sera becomes chairman, not Sohei. Forever upsetting the wheels of fate. Given where we see Sohei next, I can’t imagine that he ever really recovered from that upset ^^; And I’m SURE it made him bitter towards Kiryu the rest of his life. And considering, again, where we see him next, I think the canon supports this ^^;
So what becomes of Daigo’s destiny then? His father had victory snatched away, destiny denied, and everything he had slowly crumbles over time, leaving his son with less and less to inherit, but still with the ideology that he should take this over. That’s an awkward position to be in.
And then Sera dies. Ooh, golly, I wonder who the next chairman’s gonna- it’s Kiryu. Of course it’s fucking Kiryu, how could it not be? It OBVIOUSLY should be Kiryu. He’s the strongest, the bravest, and who inspires the most loyalty. It doesn’t matter that Kiryu’s never been in leadership before, he TURNS people. Kiryu could get anyone on his side through sheer force of personality, which is hilarious to say about a guy with maybe 3 facial expressions. But tell me I’m wrong. I cannot count the number of part-time antagonists who turned on a dime because Kiryu beat their ass. And anyone who can do that can rule the world. Kiryu was absolutely the best pick for chairman and I will fight the world on this.
(Abbreviated for length, this is a LONG post)
But... then Kiryu makes the stupidest decision of his entire fucking life and renounces the chairmanship. And he has his reasons, feeling unworthy, traumatized from the events of Kiwami 1, unsure if he even wants to stay in the yakuza or if there’s maybe something else he wants to do with his life... he’s going through a lot of intense self-reflection and self-doubt and, I hate to harp on it, but fucking trauma. His brother blew himself up in front of him in a bid for redemption after all but telling Kiryu that all of his mistakes are Kiryu’s fault. Yeah, no, I’m sure Kiryu’s doing FINE with that. So, like, I can see why Kiryu said no, but it was still... fucking nuts. And it irrevocably changed the trajectory of everyone in this universe. Which Kiwami 2 goes out of its way to explore. Kiryu’s leaving? Majima fucking retires, Terada’s suspect, there aren’t any old, loyal hands left to lead the families, and we see how vulnerable the Tojo clan is on every side because Kiryu just up and fucked off.
(I have A LOT of feelings about Kiryu being chairman and someday I will have the strength to write the AU we all deserve where Kiryu stays as chairman)
So... the wheel of fate turns and oh yeah remember Daigo? Dojima Sohei’s son Daigo? The kid who’s been raised his whole life to take over the clan only to be denied at every turn? How’s he doing? Not great! It turns out, not great! Kiryu, his father figure, killed his ACTUAL father, but didn’t really, took the blame for some other weird guy, leaving Daigo with one badass mother and very little direction in life. Daigo’s been brought up thinking he’ll take over a great kingdom but all that’s left now is a broken wreck about to be demolished and picked apart by scavengers. Great, yeah, just what any kid wants to inherit. And he wasn’t trained to fix this, it’s kinda shitty to saddle him with destiny and then not train him for the thing that actually has to be done and then do it anyway. It’s real shitty actually. And not many people help Daigo.
Daigo couldn’t have taken the chairmanship directly from Sera, he was still just a teenager then. But it probably would have been nice if Kiryu checked in with him even fucking once since getting out of jail. But no, we never explain on screen to Daigo what happened as far as I can remember. Which, I feel, is a pretty fucking big oversight. How the fuck is Daigo supposed to trust you Kiryu? Or we’re supposed to believe he just figured it out off screen and holds no grudges? Like, I’m sure knowing Kiryu didn’t kill Sohei helps, but he couldn’t fucking tell you that himself? He couldn’t trust you with that information or that conversation? Fuck this. Very understandably, Daigo has his own crisis of faith about the yakuza, very much in parallel to Kiryu’s. Why the fuck SHOULD he go to bat for a crumbling organization that has only proven itself to be a dog chasing its own tail, willing to devour itself at the slightest provocation? It took his father, both his fathers, and he didn’t really get either of them back. Why the fuck should he try to fix that?
And to its credit, Kiwami 2 does a decent job of articulating Daigo’s motivations there. I could have done with even more, but I think they do him credit in showing him as disenfranchised and lost. And I think it’s refreshing to see someone have to confront the consequences of what’s happened since Kiryu left. Because the games don’t do a good job of showing that this is Kiryu’s direct fault. They never like to make Kiryu’s decisions have consequence, which is poor use of a protag. Rightly or wrongly, their decisions ALWAYS have consequence, or they’re not the protag. You can’t have it both ways. If this person is going to matter then, guess what, their consequences matter. Kiryu turned away. Rightly or wrongly, he did that. Daigo will never get that opportunity. Child of destiny. Not only was he bred and raised for this, he doesn’t know how to do anything else either. He doesn’t have other options the way Kiryu does. And we’re in a terrible vacuum of power. Terada’s namely in charge, but no one’s loyal to him. Even if he wasn’t deliberately fostering this, the Tojo Clan can’t survive without faith in their leader. Daigo, by fact of being his fathers’ son, can bind what’s left. And he has to because Kiryu won’t. Which is... really shitty. So either Daigo does this, or we all hang. And we never quite articulate that this is on Kiryu’s say so. Kiryu could still take over now and fix it he just... won’t.
And on top of this already comfortably stressful situation... we set Daigo up to come into a stable situation of power, where his transition would be smooth. We didn’t give him the tools to know how to salvage. He’s not practiced negotiating with hostile entities or even just people who will resent him because he’s young. And he’s lost a lot of faith, without even charisma and willpower on his side, this is a massively uphill battle. If he doesn’t believe, who else will believe him? Daigo knows this. And we watch that struggle go on, all while Kiryu just cheerleads. He hasn’t decided yet if he’s gonna stay in the yakuza either and he’s lowkey depressed after Kiwami 1. Lowkey he’s just suffering depression and can’t do as much as he normally would. Not an excuse, but I think an important way to read how tired and reluctant he is. Some therapy would really fucking help.
Anyway, we manage to get through Kiwami 2 and install Daigo as chairman, at which point Kiryu fucks off for good. Now, he kinda/sorta leaves some supports for Daigo, in Majima specifically, but also in Kashiwagi and I wanna believe in Daigo’s mom too. She was so cool and then we just... never talked about her again ^^; Laaaame *sigh* So, I guess, Kiryu did try to fulfill his remaining responsibilities as Daigo’s living father, but mostly it was just an excuse for him to leave and not feel guilty. Mostly it was him foisting off his duties onto someone else. He didn’t stay to teach Daigo everything he knew about the people Daigo would have to control. He didn’t teach Daigo and Majima how to talk to each other, a thing which REPEATEDLY comes back to bite us in the ass. He’s not there for Daigo to ask advice and help. Kiryu is full of confidence for Daigo, he’s not TRYING to make him fail, but Kiryu’s so caught up in his own need to leave, he neglects to people who need him.
And Daigo, to his everlasting credit, does his best to get by without Kiryu’s help. As much as possible, he never calls to ask Kiryu for help. And he does grow into a quite competent chairman! He does successfully rehabilitate the Tojo Clan, he makes them profitable again, he insists on respect and people don’t run amok under him. He does it, he salvages a dying organization. And he may not even really believe in it, but he has such a sense of responsibility, he does it anyway. He knows there’s no one else. He knows if he goes to Kiryu and says I don’t want this, Kiryu won’t help him. Kiryu didn’t mean for it to happen this way, he didn’t mean to be selfish and put others in a bad position. But he wasn’t there to listen. And I think Kiryu eventually comes to rue that.
The very unfortunate thing about Kiryu is... he is a dragon. Even though he is kind and generous and not greedy in a conventional sense, he is greedy. As much as Kiryu is a powerhouse because come hell or high water, he does what he thinks is right... this also makes him extremely selfish. He can be blind to other people’s needs and refused to be tied down. Again, for the best of reasons, because he’s trying to raise a family, because this environment is triggering for him, but he just hauls off and does things instead of talking to anyone which... makes him impossible to have a working relationship with. He has to learn to talk and to listen and that he can’t make all of the decisions by himself. The great irony being, Kiryu never wants to, but he doesn’t know how to ask for help. He’s so used to have everything put on him, he doesn’t realize it doesn’t have to be that way... but anyway, I’m getting caught up ^^; The point is, he thinks because he ditched the Tojo Clan they no longer care about him. Which is... naive at best. Of course people still care about you dumbass. Which makes Kiryu a massive vulnerability to the Tojo. In 3 and 4, Daigo makes stupid calls trying to protect Kiryu and trying to protect his interests. And because Kiryu hasn’t left open an avenue for them to talk, Daigo has to make these decisions on his own with bad information and he does his fucking best. But... he doesn’t know how to make the best of what he has, not like Kiryu would, and he fucks up sometimes.
I really, really love game 4 for that reason. Daigo’s fuck up is SO understandable, SO reasonable. It sounded like a good idea, it sounded like peace and harmony. And he was left without a leg to stand on before he knew it. In many ways, it wasn’t his fault. Kiryu himself says as much. And I may never forgive the end of 4 for letting Kiryu REALIZE he defaulted on his responsibilities but then, instead of changing his behavior in any way, he fucks off back to Okinawa. God... *siiiigh* ANYWAY.
And this struggle, this lack of communication, but unstated loyalty, comes full circle in game 5. When Daigo is literally drowning, literally knows he’s going to fail this time and there’s nothing he can do, and even when he’s with Kiryu, he can’t bring himself to ask for help. He knows Kiryu won’t or can’t. Instead he asks for absolution. He tries to tell his dad he’s just been doing his best and... he’s sorry for the terrible things that are about to happen. How gutting that Daigo can only see himself as a failure because... he’s not Kiryu. No one’s Kiryu. Even Kiryu refuses to be Kiryu. But Daigo knows if he was just Kiryu, things would be better. He’s not a legend. He’s not a god. He’s not all-powerful or crazy or impossible. He’s just a guy, doing his best because he had to. Because there was no one else. And some days Daigo does great, but a lot of days, he doesn’t measure up. And that eats at Daigo like mold. Kiryu would NEVER look at Daigo this way. Heck, most people at that point would never compare them. It’s in Daigo’s head, but it still hurts. He’s still, even now, looking up to Kiryu and he’ll just... never quite get there.
This is the only good thing I will ever say about game 6, and it was still 2 or 3 games too late, but Kiryu finally acknowledging Daigo as his son was good. Kiryu saying he was proud and saying he was grateful was good. Again, several games late, but... it still mattered. It still mattered that, in the end, Kiryu recognized his legacy in Daigo. That he understood so much of what Daigo did and does and is and was is for him. That mattered.
Daigo is a great chairman who takes care of his clan. But he was robbed of his relationship with his father. The games never work on the relationships that exist, strong relationships, for reasons I will never understand. Games 3, 4, and 5 would have been SO much more interesting if we had just like Kiryu talk to his fucking friends. Two would have been SO much easier if Kiryu had just been fucking chairman like he was fucking supposed to be and the transition of power to Daigo came later and smoother, with Kiryu helping to make it. Daigo tries his hardest every day and he’s an incredible negotiator and savior after all the shit he’s had to pull the Tojo Clan through, kicking and screaming and fighting to tear itself apart every damn day. The generation above him is all legends, Majima and Saejima and Kiryu. Daigo isn’t one of them. But he’s better because he was here and because he tries and because he succeeds. We need Daigo. We deserve him.

Paper Football
[I'll be posting my little scraps of writing here. They'll mostly involve my OC's and may not have much plot. They're just for fun.]
Masahiro considered plucking out his own eyelashes, anything to get some stimulation. The meeting was absolutely dragging, and Masahiro could think if a thousand other places he would rather be. He tried to keep awake as Daigo Dojima went over profits and reviewed each family's progress, but the leather seat seemed to be dragging him deeper into its' cushions and his lids were heavey, threatening to drop down and close completely. He didn't know if he actually snored or not, but he didn't want to find out here.
The only reason Masahiro was here to begin with was because Majima had insisted. The reason Majima gave was that Masahiro was about to become a Tojo direct subsidiary with his own family after serving under Majima's family faithfully, and he should know how the meetings went. Masahiro was sure it was because Majima just wanted someone else to suffer with him so he didn't have to sit there and suffer the other patriarchs alone. Masahiro looked across the room at the one eyed patriarch now and huffed. Majima was sitting silently, looking as bored as Masahiro felt. He was stuffed into his crimson dress shirt and black suit. He only wore it when he wanted to look intimidating, and Masahiro thought it worked, but he could tell Majima hated wearing it, preferring the openness of his snakeskin jacket.
Masahiro dug into the inside pocket of his suit jacket and pulled out a folded sheet of paper. It was probably something important, a bill that needed collected or paid, or information he needed, but for the time being he began folding it smaller and smaller until it was a tightly packed paper football. He stared across the room at Majima until the other man felt Masahiro's eyes on him and turned to look. Discreetly, Masahiro showed him the paper triangle. Without saying a word the one eyed patriarch pressed his thumbs together with his forefinger pointing up and his other digits curled against his palm, creating a goal low in his lap so that the arms of the chair blocked the other patriarchs' views.
Feeling something like excitement now Masahiro held the triangle by the points with his forefinger and thumb, also making sure the arms of his chair blocked his hands from view, and flicked the triangle across the vast space between the lines of patriarchs. The paper football sailed soundlessly through the air, hitting Majima in the chest, but it had sailed between his fingers, giving Masahiro a goal. He calmly sat back into his chair, putting his fingers in the same position Majima had had his, and waited for the other man to make his move. Majima flexes his fingers and sent the thing flying. It landed neatly in Masahiro's lap, making them even.
They sent it back and forth, Majima was good, but Masahiro managed to stay one above him each pass. Masahiro tried for a trick shot and hit Majima squarely in the face. In retaliation Majima flicked the paper triangle so hard it whizzed through the air and hit Masahiro in the chest so hard it bounced off his tie and landed in the middle of the floor. Both men just stared at it silently, wondering if one of them should try and snatch it up quickly before one of the other patriarchs...or the chairman, noticed.
Someone cleared their throat. Too late, both men looked up to see all other heads turned their way, and Daigo not looking too impressed, though Masahiro was sure he saw one of the corners of his mouth twitch. Masahiro and Majima folded their hands in their laps, not letting their faces show their clear guilt.
'Do either of you have something to contribute?' Daigo raised an eyebrow at them, clearly not expecting a genuine answer.
Both shook their heads, 'No, 6th Chairman.' They bowed their heads slightly in respect.
Daigo sighed, 'alright, I have nothing further to say. You all know what you should be doing.' The other patriarchs bowed their heads and began to stand, straightening their suits and talking quietly among themselves.
Masahiro swoopes and snatched the triangle off the carpet and followed Majima, who always made a swift exit from the meetings. Once they were threw the thick doors, hearing them click loudly shut behind them, they both burst out laughing. Majima's sounded slightly more genuine than his usual cackle. He thumped Masahiro on the back as they made their way down the stairs to the front of the head quarters. Masahiro unfolded the football to see just what he had crumpled up. It was an important collections job his lieutenant had handed him that morning...whoops. He should probably get on that.
'Shouldn't shirk responsibility,' Majima read the paper over his shoulder as he lit a cigarette, 'gonna be a Tojo direct here soon.'
'As you keep reminding me.' Masahiro swiped one of the Patriarch's cigarettes and let the other man light it for him too. He took a long drag and watched satisfied at the volume of smoke he blew out.
Majima laughed again, 'come on, I'll help ya on that job. I've been craving busting a few heads.'
Masahiro couldn't stop the grin, 'bring your bat, he's got some pretty big brutes.'
'Fucking perfect,' Majima purred, and blew a smoke ring around Masahiro's face.

Can you write what Majima's wedding day would be like 🥺👉👈
Ooh I’ve wanted to write about this for a while in fact. 👀 I fully believe that unlike Saejima, who’d want a traditional Japanese wedding, Majima would lean more towards something low-key and modern, maybe he’d even want to just elope and call it a day.
But, as I’ve discussed before, if the marriage has any hopes of working, his spouse has to accept all of him, yakuza and bloodshed included... and he has to agree to share his whole life with them too.
So then, maybe a ceremony that introduces and includes his partner in the clan could work. And since I felt inspired... mini-fic below! 💗
Over and over, he runs a shaky hand down the back of his head, as the tailor circles him like a hawk. The two other men sitting behind him are also watching intently, following the old craftsman’s gestures — a tug on a sleeve here, a tightening of the seam there. It’s been going on for the past 20 minutes at least and he’s starting to get restless.
“Jeez, ya sewing me into this thing? I ain’t even the bride,” Majima grumbles.
“Seein’ how ya like to rip yer suits clean off, what’s an extra stitch or two, kyodai?”
“Hey, least I ain’t bustin’ through them just by bendin’ over,“ he quips back, making eye contact with Saejima through the mirror.
Normally he’d try to imitate his bro at this point, make a show out of flexing his slim biceps to the point where you could, maybe, just barely, make out their outline through the fabric. It’s the best you can when you’re not built like the big tiger. But he knows today isn’t a day to play the clown.
“Apologies, sir,“ the tailor speaks, fastening Majima’s sleeve button again, for the tenth time after he’s fiddled it undone.
“I’m almost finished. You haven’t had a new suit fitted in years, I want to make sure everything’s perfect as it should be.”
Well, come to think of it, there hasn’t been much reason to visit the old man’s shop lately. Snakeskin jackets are in constant supply, so much so that he doesn’t even have to call for a re-order, they simply deliver a new one right to his office every month or so. And as for suits... it’s not like he gets much use out of those, outside of the odd stuffy meeting Daigo makes him attend.
Heh. It pleases him to think that for once, the tables are turned and Daigo’s the invitee. Closing his eye, Majima can almost picture him pacing solemnly around the reception hall, chatting to Kiryu-chan or intimidating the hell out of every Majima family member, through his attendance alone. Maybe he’s getting to know the star of the ceremony, the one the boys already reverently call “ane-san”. Or maybe she hasn’t taken the stage yet, still busy getting fretted over, same as him. After all, that dress has gotta be just...
“Perfect. Right ya are. Y’know, I figured an occasion like this could use some new threads.”
And not the kinda fancy outfit you wear once and never again. Rather, something sharp and stylish and versatile. Attached to a memory, like all his costumes before. Only this one he’s determined to keep a pleasant memory, more comforting and symbolic than even the ring he’ll be hiding under his glove from now on.
He’s deep into daydreaming about how one day he’ll be wearing this same suit to his son or daughter’s wedding when Nishida, who’s been sitting quietly all this time, breaks the silence.
“Are you nervous, oyaji?”
“Haw? No way!” He smooths through his fresh undercut again, like a man who’s definitely at least a little bit nervous.
“I mean, it ain’t like I’m gettin’ cold feet, it’s just... “
“Not your everyday yakuza event, right?” Nishida offers.
Yeah. It’s not exactly a Tojo clan get-together, but it’s not your average wedding either. Tonight the guest list for large banquet hall at HQ skews much more eclectic: a handful of officers (the ones he can trust), some old friends like Kiryu, the chairman of course. There are no mother in laws or other relatives to speak of. Blood ties matter little. The former Sunshine girls, with Yuki at the forefront, make up the only other feminine presence apart from the bride and Majima can only hope they’re not already busy fending off advances from the more smooth-talking of his men. In fact, he’s not just hoping, he’s looking forward to putting them in their place, if need be. For all the Majima family youngsters, who’ve never even snuck a peek inside the Tojo walls before, this event is as much a treat as it is a test.
He blinks twice to dispel the haze that’s taken hold again.
“Man... who would’a thought an old hound like me would be turnin’ into a family man? Well, the other kind of family man,” he muses, picking his cufflinks as his new fidget toy. He can’t see it, but the other men exchange a glance that confirms they’re all in agreement: Majima was always “the other kind of family man.”
There’s only one more finishing touch to place — the bowtie. But as the tailor moves to loop it around his neck, Majima slips it from his hands.
“Gimme that.”
In over 20 years, not a soul has spotted Majima Goro wearing a bowtie, but somehow his fingers are uncannily skilled at tying it, a fact that doesn’t go unnoticed. They barely have time to comment on it though, because at once he turns around, beaming.
“How’s it look?”
“Handsome as always, oyaji!”
“Ya look... happy” Saejima mirrors his smile. “And handsome,” he concedes.
“But if yer ready... don’t keep her waitin’.”
Oh, Majima’s ready all right.

Character Story - Mine [RGGO]
I feel like i just wrote an entire MineDai pre-relationship fanfic with the word count on this >_< There’s a section in Mine’s wiki page about the “The Man Called Yoshitaka Mine” event. I’m pretty sure this takes place after that one, because Mine makes references to things Daigo said when they first met.
When it comes to idioms, I decided to leave in the ones that don’t sound too different from their English counterparts as is. The others I just tried to reword (it took a lot of googling to figure them out lol). Also, please note that anything I write before the chapter starts is shit I made up, don’t take them as facts XD
Tumblr media
Story: Mine, Chairman of the Hakuho Clan, meets up with Sixth Chairman Dojima. He then goes out for drinks with his boss, loses him in a public toilet, and ends up saving the day with his inherent skepticism that Daigo could be sleeping with a woman (either because our boy Mine’s gaydar is on point, or he believes that the words “Daigo” and “get laid” could never occur in the same sentence).
Mine: (I wish I could be his friend so he could smile at me like that . . . but it seems I am fated to only know him as the Sixth Chairman . . .)
Daigo: “Hey Mine wanna get some drinks together?”
Mine: :O
.
CHAPTER 1
.
Tumblr media
[Tojo Headquarters]
Driver: “Well, Chairman Mine. This is where you get off.”
Mine: “Ah.”
Mine: (Today’s my meeting with Chairman Dojima. Heh. I’ve really gotten far.)
Mine: “Hm? That’s . . .”
{Daigo walks by, talking to someone on the phone.}
Mine: “Is that Chairman Dojima? He seems to be on the phone with someone.”
Tumblr media
Daigo: “Hahaha. It’s hard work. But I’m fine.”
Telephone voice: “But Daigo-san. Ever since becoming chairman, you’ve become a distant person!”
Daigo: “What, would you like to come visit the Tojo Headquarters next time? It’s full of yakuza . . .”
Telephone voice: “No way! Just treat me to some cabarets and soaplands!”
Daigo: “Idiot, use your own money! Ha ha ha!”
Mine: (. . . Is the other party on the phone a friend of Chairman Dojima? . . . From what I heard, Chairman Dojima was playing around with his friends in the city before he assumed the position of Sixth Chairman. Must be a friend from that time period. I thought he was strict, but it seems he can make that kind of expression . . . to a friend . . .)
Daigo: “Oh, Mine. You’re here.”
Mine: “It’s nice to meet you, Chairman.”
----
Tumblr media
[Tojo HQ – Chairman’s Office]
Daigo: “. . . That’s all for today. Good luck from now on.”
Mine: “Yes. I will live up to your expectations.”
Mine: (By exchanging a cup with him, you entrust your life . . . It seems that I may only know this person as the Sixth Chairman . . .)
Daigo: “Hm? What is it, Mine? What’s wrong?”
Mine: “. . . no. It’s nothing. Excuse me.”
Daigo: “Really?”
Mine: (Now I have to fulfill my duties faithfully. To be Chairman Dojima’s . . . the Tojo Clan’s backbone.)
Daigo: “. . . Wait. Mine. Are you free tonight?”
Mine: “Tonight? I don’t have any plans . . .”
Daigo: “Then, do you want to go out for drinks?”
Mine: “Eh?”
Daigo: “It’s late, but consider it a celebration of the direct promotion of the Hakuho Clan. In addition, I’ve never had a drink with you yet.”
Mine: “. . .”
Daigo: “How about it? I know a good place.”
Mine: “. . . Yeah. I’ll be happy to.”
----
Tumblr media
[Champion District]
Mine: (. . . no way. To receive an invitation from Chairman Dojima . . . I’m in trouble. What do I even talk about . . .)
Tumblr media
{Off to the side, a thug and a yakuza are yelling and fighting.}
Mine: (Jeez. It’s a noisy town. The Chairman will arrive anytime now.)
{The thug and the yakuza keep fighting. The yakuza shoves the thug, and he bumps into Mine.}
Mine: “. . . ku!”
Thug: “What are you standing around there for!”
Mine: “. . . If you two are having a dispute, can you do it elsewhere?”
Thug: “We can have disputes wherever we want!”
Mine: “. . . You’re an eyesore. Scraps.”
Yakuza: “Scraps?”
Mine: “Yeah. Garbage. Messy trash dirtying the Chairman’s path. The Chairman will feel uncomfortable with guys like you around. Get lost now.”
Yakuza: “What part of it don’t you understand! We’re not going anywhere!”
Mine: “I guess it can’t be helped then. I’ll have to announce the Chairman’s arrival before he comes. Bring it on, scraps!”
{Mine takes care of the garbage.}
Mine: “Hn. Not so mouthy now.”
Daigo’s voice: “I think they’ve had enough, Mine.”
Tumblr media
Mine: “Chairman Dojima . . .”
Daigo: “Did I keep you waiting?”
Mine: “No . . . I just arrived myself. Even so, a place like this? There’s a lot to be said about the location, the security . . .”
Daigo: “This is my favorite bar. When it comes to drinking, this is the best place.”
Mine: “Is that so . . . hm?”
Tumblr media
Bodyguards: “. . .”
Daigo: “They’re coming along while we drink. Those guys are at work, don’t mind them.”
Mine: “I don’t have a problem. This is for the safety of Chairman Dojima.”
Mine: (Now, since I was invited, I have to be enthusiastic . . . It’s time to forget my daily duties and just enjoy myself tonight.)
----
Tumblr media
[Bar that might be Shellac unless it’s just reused assets]
Daigo: “Fuu. I finally got a drink. I can’t do without this.”
Mine: “. . . Chairman Dojima, you seem tired. Are the Chairman’s duties difficult?”
Daigo: “Ah, it’s very hard. For days it seems I’ve done nothing but work.”
{A couple overhears and starts whispering near them. The woman wonders what Daigo is a chairman of, but the man says he’s probably no one important.}
Daigo: “. . .”
Mine: “. . .”
Daigo: “. . . Hey, Mine. Why are you calling me Chairman Dojima today? It’s too stiff.”
Mine: “Sorry. I didn’t realize. Then . . . Daigo-san. That’s what I’ll call you.”
Daigo: “Ah, that’s fine.”
Daigo: “You know . . . the Fourth Chairman Kiryu-san’s existence is far greater than I thought. It seems even among those who don’t openly oppose, many are still dissatisfied with my appointment as Sixth Chairman.”
Mine: (Kiryu Kazuma . . . his name will always come up when you talk with Daigo-san . . .)
Mine: “That person, Kiryu, to Daigo-san . . . is he like your aniki?”
Daigo: “Aniki? . . .That’s right, something like that. I can’t express it in one word. But family, no . . . he may be more than that.”
Mine: (More than family? Something that far?)
Daigo: “That person is now running an orphanage in Okinawa. There, he seems to be living in peace with his new family.”
Mine: “An orphanage . . .”
Daigo: “Life in Okinawa is the peace he finally got. I want to protect it, whatever happens . . .”
Mine: (For Daigo-san to declare as much . . . Kiryu Kazuma . . . must be quite the man.)
----
2 hours later . . .
Tumblr media
Daigo: “Hahaha! Kanda’s face at the time must have been a masterpiece.”
Mine: “Yeah! Once my anger passed, I was amazed. He had a face like a sumo wrestler’s after I hit it.”
Daigo: “Ha-Hahaha! Su-Sumo wrestler-!”
Mine: (It seems he’s having fun. This is nice . . .)
Daigo: “By the way, Mine. Are you a private person? When it comes to friends . . .”
Mine: “Eh? Private? Me? . . . Hm? A phone?”
{A phone goes off with a notification.}
Daigo: “O-oh. It looks like I got . . . an email . . .”
Mine: “. . . !”
Mine: (What? Daigo-san’s face . . . is turning pale . . .)
Daigo: “. . .”
Mine: “What’s wrong?”
Daigo: “. . . N-no. It’s not a big deal. It’s my work email. Good grief, they must be bored. I don’t usually get emails at times like this.”
Bodyguards: “. . .”
Mine: (Daigo-san looks upset. Who did the email come from?)
.

CHAPTER 2
.
Tumblr media
[Bar]
Daigo: “. . .”
Tumblr media
Mine: (Daigo-san. Since that email arrived, he’s been acting strange. He keeps looking at the time, and acting like he doesn’t want to be here anymore. Who did that email come from?)
Mine: “. . . Um. Daigo-san, are you okay? Your complexion looks bad.”
Daigo: “No, it’s fine. I just feel a little sick.”
Mine: (Are you hiding something?)
Tumblr media
{There’s a commotion outside. Two yakuza brothers are trying to enter the bar, but Bodyguard A says monkeys like them aren’t allowed inside. They get into a fight.}
Bodyguard B: “Sounds like trouble outside. I’ll go help.”
Mine: (Not again. It really is a noisy town.)
Daigo: “. . . Now’s my chance.”
Mine: “Eh?”
Daigo: “Mine, actually there’s something I need to tell you . . . I need to get out of here alone.”
Mine: “Get . . . out?”
Daigo: “Lately, my bodyguards have been hanging around all the time, and I’m getting sick of it. They even follow me to the toilet . . . I can’t even stretch out my wings. That’s why I want to be alone for once and take a break.”
Mine: (. . . he wants to be alone? What do I say to that?)
Mine: “By any chance . . . does the content of the email you received have something to do with this?”
Daigo: “! . . . No Mine, it’s not like that. As I said . . .”
Mine: (He keeps glancing around the place. What is it?)
Mine: “. . . understood.”
Daigo: “So you’ll let me go?!”
Mine: “Yeah. It’s likely you’ll still try to leave even if I say no. However . . . please let me accompany you. As your bodyguard.”
Daigo: “Wh-what? You too?”
Mine: “It is expected that as the Sixth Chairman, you cannot be walking around alone. ‘I will accompany you as a bodyguard’ . . . that’s the last oath your subordinates swear by.”
Daigo: “. . . Alright. Then come along with me. We should be able to get out through the back door.”
Mine: (Daigo-san’s expression when he received the email is no small matter . . . When it’s just the two of us outside, maybe then he’ll tell me what’s going on.)

Middle-aged Man: “. . .”

Tumblr media
[Children’s Park]
Daigo: “Fuu. Somehow I found it.”
Mine: “. . . Daigo-san, what are you doing? You said you wanted to stretch out your wings.”
Daigo: “. . . Ah, that’s right . . . I felt like wanting to move my body somewhere.”
Mine: “If so, there’s a batting center nearby. How about that?”
Daigo: “A-Ah, that’s great! It’s been a while, I feel like hitting some balls!”
Mine: “. . . By the way, Daigo-san. About the email earlier . . .”
Daigo: “!”
Mine: “Are you hiding something from me? If you’re in trouble, I might be able to help.”
Daigo: “. . . . . . No, it’s a personal problem. It’s not something I should be telling you.”
Mine: “But . . .”
Daigo: “. . . . . . Mine, I understand your concern. From my position, it seems I am always threatened by danger to my person. I don’t know what or when it will happen. There’s no guarantee of tomorrow’s safety.”
Mine: “Daigo-san?”
Daigo: “. . . No, it’s a long story. Don’t worry about it. Well, you said the batting center, right? It’s been a while. Mine, will you join me?”
Mine: “Yeah. I’ll take you up on that.”
Mine: (Daigo-san is still hiding something. But, why won’t he tell me?)
Daigo: “. . . Don’t get cold, Mine. I’m going to the toilet.”
Mine: “Understood. I’ll be standing guard right here in front, so take your time.”
Daigo: “I’ll be right back.”
{Daigo enters the public toilets. Mine takes his position by the exit. A few minutes pass.}
Tumblr media
Mine: “. . . . . . . . . he’s taking his time . . . unless . . .”
{Mine rushes to the toilets.}
Tumblr media
Mine: “Not here . . .! He’s gone! Did he go out through the window?! He took his chance the moment he was alone! Fuck, what do I do . . .”
----
[Children’s Park]
Bodyguard A: “Ah! You!”
Mine: “Tch! At a time like this . . . !”
Tumblr media
Bodyguard A: “Where is Chairman Dojima?!”
Mine: “. . . I don’t know. I’m also looking for him.”
Bodyguard A: “You’re lying! Did you bring him outside?!”
Bodyguard B: “You, no way . . . did you plan to kidnap Chairman Dojima all along?”
Mine: “Kidnap? You idiot, why would I?”
Bodyguard B: “Until recently, you were a regular man. You might be a spy sent by an enemy organization.”
Mine: “That’s a stupid idea. Right now we need to-“
Bodyguard A: “Whatever. If you don’t plan on spitting out the Chairman’s whereabouts, would you like us to make you talk?!”
Mine: “Tch. I guess it can’t be helped.”
{Mine beats the shit out of Daigo’s bodyguards.}
Bodyguard A: “Fu . . . ck . . . so strong . . .”
Bodyguard B: “Stupid. We are the elite . . .”
Mine: “Fuck! Get out of the way! Daigo-san . . .”

Mine: “Not here . . . Where?!”
Barker: “Nii-san, Onee-chan, why not come have fun at our place?”
Mine: “A barker? No, not right . . . now . . . wait, are you always working in this area?”
Barker: “Eh? That’s correct, why?”
Mine: “Did a man in his mid-thirties with black hair, a black suit, and a good physique pass by here?”
Barker: “Yeah, he did.”
Mine: “What?! Do you know where he went?”
Barker: “Where he went . . . I think he took a taxi somewhere.”
Mine: “Taxi?”
Barker: “Yeah. He was joined by a young and beautiful Onee-chan.”
Mine: “Eh? O-Onee-chan?”
Bodyguard A: “So . . . a woman.”
Mine: “!”
Tumblr media
Bodyguard B: “I thought he was acting funny when he received the email at the bar. That ‘I’ve done it’ face. It seems that he missed a promised meetup with the woman.”
Mine: “Then, Daigo-san wanted to be alone . . .”
Bodyguard A: “Because he has a secret rendezvous. With who, I don’t know.”
Mine: “Somehow found . . .”
Bodyguard A: “A bad boy is attractive to a woman. Besides his money and his status, he’s also handsome.”
Mine: “. . . he said he wanted to move his body . . .”
Bodyguard B: “Heh. It’s nice to have a great time.”
Bodyguard A: “It can’t be helped. You should call it a night. You had a hard time too.”
Tumblr media
Mine: “Stupid . . .”

CHAPTER 3

Tumblr media
[West Shichifuku Street]
Mine: “Did Daigo-san go somewhere in a taxi? And with a young woman?”
Bodyguard A: “Chairman Dojima is unmarried, has money, and he’s handsome. It’s no wonder he’s popular. Right now, he’s probably with a model or an actress.”
Bodyguard B: “He should be careful not to get involved in a scandal.”
Bodyguard A: “Now, let’s head back. You should go home too.”
Tumblr media
Mine: “. . .”

Daigo: “. . .”
Tumblr media
Thug Leader: “As promised, did you come alone?”
Daigo: “Yeah. My faithful subordinate tried to follow me, but I left without telling him where I went. I made him think I was secretly meeting with a woman.”
Thug Leader: “. . . Is that right. Did you bring the money?”
Daigo: “Yeah.”
{Daigo hands over a bag. The leader unzips it to reveal cash.}
Thug Leader: “. . . Everything seems to be here.”
Daigo: “Will you keep your end of the bargain?”
Thug Leader: “Yeah. Don’t lay a hand on Kiryu Kazuma. He’ll be living in peace in Okinawa from now on.”
Daigo: “. . .”
Thug Leader: “Even so, that Kiryu person must be really important to you.  . . . Is he your weak point?”
Daigo: “. . . What are you trying to say?”
Thug Leader: “It’s amazing that the Tojo Clan’s Sixth Chairman can be lured out over one person.”
Daigo: “What?”
Thug Leader: “You still don’t get it? I’m saying this time it’s your turn to be the hostage!! Stupid! The aim was to get you all alone from the very beginning! If we kidnap you, we’ll get far more ransom money!”
Daigo: “Fuck . . .”
Man’s voice: “So . . . it was all for Kiryu-san. I figured that would be the case.”
Daigo: “Mi-Mine?”
Tumblr media
Mine: “Daigo-san, I had a hard time looking for you.”
Daigo: “Why are you here?”
Mine: “You think you can get away with such an obvious lie? . . . That barker, you paid him off.”
Daigo: “But he didn’t know about this place . . .”
Mine: “. . . Yeah. There are countless taxi companies in Kamurocho. Too many candidates to question where you went. And those guys won’t give out customer information, saying it’s ‘personal information’. So it couldn’t be helped. I had to resort to buying the taxis off. When that didn’t work, I bought off the taxi companies. When you become a stakeholder, you gain access to customers’ information.”
Daigo: “You did that for each company?”
Mine: “It took hundreds of millions. Heh. It was a huge expense.”
Daigo: “Mine . . . Why did you go so far . . . just for me?”
Mine: “. . . Daigo-san. I’ve shared a cup with you. That’s not something I take halfheartedly. I’m ready to sacrifice everything just for you. Forever and always. There are absolute bonds in the yakuza world . . . you taught me that.”
Daigo: “. . . Mine . . .”
Thug Leader: “O-Oi! Who are you to come barging in and interrupting us! I’ll kill you if you interfere!”
Daigo: “Kill him? You don’t seem to understand the situation. With this guy here, you’re the one who’s going to have a bad time.”
Thug Leader: “Ha?”
Daigo: “Mine here looks like a regular man . . . but don’t you know he’s actually really strong? I can trust him to have my back.”
Mine: “!”
Daigo: “. . . Mine. With you here, we can take on a hundred people.”
Mine: “Yeah. Let’s show them how we do things.”
Tumblr media
Daigo: “Let’s go, Mine!”
Tumblr media
Mine: “Yeah!”
{Mine and Daigo take down the whole gang.}
Thug Leader: “How . . . there are so many of us . . .”
Mine: “You . . . which organization are you with?!”
Thug Leader: “Guh! Th-That’s . . .”
Mine: “Answer me!!”
Thug Leader: “Ta-Takashima Family . . .”
Mine: “Takashima Family? As in ‘The Four Kings of Omi’ Takashima Family remnants? Chairman, what are you going to do? The Omi will want to hear this . . .”
Daigo: “. . . No, I won’t tell the Omi. Even with the conflict finally over, I don’t want to make needless waves over these excommunicated members. The police can handle them.”
Mine: “Is that so . . . . . . Daigo-san, will you finally tell me what’s going on this time?”
Daigo: “. . . Yeah. The thing is . . . I was being threatened before today.”
Mine: “Before?”
Daigo: “‘If you want to protect the peace of Kiryu Kazuma, pay the money. If you tell anyone, his peace will be lost.’ I got an email telling me where to go. Along with a stolen shot of Kiryu-san.”
Mine: “His peace . . . then that means they didn’t directly take Kiryu as a hostage, right?”
Daigo: “Yeah. If they did that, they would be in trouble. Their opponent is a legendary yakuza. However, there are many ways to ‘disturb the peace’.”
Mine: “So that’s why. And you’re Daigo-san. You wanted to protect him at all costs.”
Daigo: “. . . Yeah. I’ve secretly stationed a bodyguard around Kiryu-san. Just earlier, I received a photo of the bodyguard killed.”
Mine: “That’s the email you received at the bar . . .”
Daigo: “As soon as I saw that picture, I had to move.”
Mine: “Daigo-san, why didn’t you tell me this sooner? If you had, I would have been able to help.”
Daigo: “‘Someone is watching you’, the email said, so I couldn’t speak about it. In fact, there was a guy there at the bar watching us. And this is my personal problem. I didn’t want to get you involved.”
Mine: “That’s why . . . it’s unreasonable for you to act on your own. You are the Sixth Chairman of the Tojo Clan, an organization with hundreds of thousands of members in the East. I don’t know the Fourth Chairman or the Legendary Dragon, but acting alone to protect one individual . . .”
Daigo: “. . . It was unavoidable. Kiryu-san is a special person to me.”
Mine: “Which is more important, the clan or one person?”
Daigo: “! Th-That’s . . .”
Mine: “Before, you told me that the clan members are like your family. Isn’t that right? You’re giving priority to someone who’s not even a member of the clan. Are you not aware of that as the Chairman?”
Daigo: “Mine . . . you’re right. I’m sorry. I still have a long way to go.”

A few days later . . .

[Tojo HQ – Chairman’s Office]
Mine: “Eh? Me be the Headquarters’ Junior Head Assistant?”
Daigo: “Yeah. I’ve been looking for someone to be Junior Assistant.”
Mine: “. . .”
Daigo: “What? You don’t want to?”
Mine: “No, it’s just . . . the other day we had just been promoted to be a direct subsidiary of the clan. I haven’t raised any tribute since then.”
Daigo: “Didn’t you entrust your life to me? Did you not say you were prepared to sacrifice everything for me?”
Mine: “!”
Daigo: “. . . Mine. I realized something the other day. You . . . you’re the one I can trust with my back.”
Mine: “Daigo-san . . .”
Daigo: “In addition, there’s no one in the Tojo Clan now who can preach to me face-to-face besides Kashiwagi-san, Mine.”
Mine: “I might have gone a bit overboard . . .”
Daigo: “So what do you say? Will you accept it?”
Mine: “. . . Of course. I will be happy to accept it . . . Daigo-san.”
Daigo: “That’s great! I’m counting on you, Mine!”

Mine: (Junior Head Assistant. That was an unexpected harvest . . .)
Mine: (A man named Kiryu Kazuma. He’s a danger . . . I won’t let Daigo-san take such a reckless action again. I can’t leave that matter alone, as Daigo-san’s new Junior Assistant . . .)

I know this isn’t an ask prompt but I would love to know if you had any ideas for a Kazumaji proposal?
Awww, you’re so sweet anon, thank you! Hmmmm, let me think. The problem with them is where to pick it up in continuity? End of 5? After 3? Even before 1?
I’m quite partial to after 5 myself just because Kiryu’s this old gay man by then who seems to realize that he’s wasted a lot of time not doing the things that made him happy for the greater good and, in doing that, may have sacrificed the thing most important to him. It just feels like a good place for these middle-aged men who have known each other too intimately and too well to finally, y’know, be happy. Let themselves be happy.
Majima, meanwhile, has been ready to marry and settle down practically since he met Kiryu. If you’ve seen 2, then you see how painstakingly Majima constructs (pun intended) a safe, stable environment apart from the Tojo Clan while not wholly divorcing from it. He’s still accessible when he needs to be, but he has total security living on top of the Florist so he has early warning for any and all threats and has amassed a reputable business with a lot of strong and loyal types that would deter petty disputes. I don’t know about you, but sounds like a pretty reasonable place to raise children if you were also someone who needed to do yakuza business and keep your flock of children safe. I’m Just Saying. And Majima... just waits. Just sits there and waits, ever ready for Kiryu to come to him, for whatever he needs, providing though he hasn’t been asked. I- ugggghhhhhh. Fuck.
And after 3 seems like such a reasonable time for Kiryu to come back to the fold. I think it’s fair that Kiryu tries to find himself, that he isn’t sure being yakuza is really want he wants to do after all and he goes off to raise some kids because he thinks that’s what he wants. And let’s be real, Kiryu needs a family, he loves his kids, he loves having people to take care of and having people around who love and support him. It does him good. But there’s a reality check there. It’s cool that you want a family and all and you were left devastated by the yakuza life and all your family, all your identity markers were stripped from you because they’re all dead so you’re scrambling to make a new identity with new people filling in those gaps, that’s cool and all, but it’s too fucking late. You’re Kiryu fucking Kazuma, you’re the Dragon of fucking Dojima and you will never not be that. Whatever else you are, whoever else you become, you are always going to be that too.
And this is what Kazama was trying to warn you and Nishiki about when he said don’t join. If you join, there’s no leaving, there’s no going back, the ink on your back will not fade. You are and always will be the third chairman of the Tojo Clan and because of that, people are always gonna come for you. You’re always going to be a target, and it’s fine, you can take it, but maybe your kids can’t. And in 3 that problem was Loud And Clear. No one would have given a fuck about that orphanage except you were running it. Those kids never would have been in danger except they were a way to get to you. And I'm not trying to make Kiryu feel shitty about his life decisions, again, totally good and reasonable to want a family, but you gotta understand your own damn position. There’s wanting what you want and then there’s ignoring the risks and consequences.
So, y’know, all the more reason to MAYBE find a safe place to have your fucking kids. Just... just saying. MAYBE you COULD have your cake and eat it too if you weren’t such a stubborn idiotic askdfjkjasdhfkjsdh. I’m fine, I’m fine. It’s not him, it’s the writing, it’s not him... it’s fine.
Anyway. But you asked me for a proposal, I’m getting off track. I think there’s a strong and dangerous argument to be made pre-one. Hell I nearly backed that in Snowed Inn, so, I feel y’all. I feel it. It’s intoxicating, the idea that these bastards couldn’t help themselves, dared hell and high water, and just fucking did it at the worst time possible, when there was everything to lose, because they were just so fucking into each other. Like... fuck, and they would too. Because, in their hearts, it’s always been true. They’ve always been married, there’s never been anyone else. Or, not since they met. Why not get it in writing? Why not just own it? We’re this fucked up about each other, we’re this vulnerable and it’s just... true.
And I’ve also got a real soft spot for old, tired men who have sacrificed a lot for stability over happiness and that has come to such heartbreak that finally... it’s time.
But I think what I’ll do this time is fix canon and give us the post-3 marriage that we all fucking deserved. It’s not the only thing canon fucked (and Oh Boy we don’t have time for my list on THAT. Send another ask anon ;) ) but it is a glaring one. Enjoy:
After Kiryu got down from Millennium Tower, shaken, bloody, but whole, the first place he went was Majima Construction.
“Kiryu-san!” Nishida ran over to him when Kiryu came striding through the gates, shirtless and determined, “What bring you-?”
“Where’s Majima?” he huffed, not even stopping for the answer, scanning the layout of the site hoping to spot him.
Nishida trotted to keep up. “We- we weren’t expecting you! The boss returned not long ago, he’s in his quarters-”
“Where?” Kiryu snapped, eyes on Nishida now.
Nishida gulped and pointed to a trailer above the work site. “But Kiryu-san, he said no visitors,” Nishida tried to uphold his boss’ wishes.
“He’ll see me,” Kiryu insisted, starting off in that direction.
“But he really wasn’t looking like he wanted visitors!” Nishida supplied.
Kiryu stopped and turned to Nishida, forcing himself to relax for a second. “Thank you, Nishida-san,” he nodded gratefully, “I’m not here to fight him, I just want to talk.”
Nishida’s worried frown loosened a little. “He had a bottle with him,” he muttered, “I think... talking to him might help.”
Kiryu smiled for half a second. “I hope so.” With that, he nearly sprinted to the stairs like he was making up for lost time. There was no real need to rush, he knew where Majima was and he was unlikely to do anything drastic right now. There was just this tight pressure in his skull that demanded he get to Majima before he lost whatever it was he needed to say.
He rapped on the trailer door.
“Go’way,” Majima whined, slurring a little, “We’re closed.”
“I’m not a customer,” Kiryu explained.
There was silence, then a rustle, a small sound as Majima tripped on something, then the door swinging open. “Kiryu-chan?” Majima blinked at him, hair askew, leather pants wrinkled and hung unevenly on his hips, “Whatcha doin here?”
Kiryu blew a breath through his nose. “I came to see you.”
Majima’s eye widened and, for the first time ever, Kiryu saw a bit of blush rise in his cheeks. Did alcohol have that effect on him? Kiryu saw him try to school his reaction, folding his arms and leaning ineffectually against the doorframe. “Thought ya didn’t want anythin’ t’do with me,” he huffed.
“That’s not-” Kiryu bit his tongue. “Won’t you at least invite me in?”
Majima raised an eyebrow and then leaned back, letting Kiryu just enough room to squeeze inside, so long as he bodily brushed against Majima to do it. Kiryu did catch the sigh escaping from Majima as just for a second their body heat mingled and it became hard to tell where one of them ended and the other began. Kiryu pushed pass and tried not to get distracted.
Majima’s snakeskin jacket lay disregarded on the floor, the camp bed under the windows looked rumpled, clearly recently vacated. Kiryu swallowed and looked for somewhere to sit.
“The bed’s free,” Majima murmured behind him, not quite salacious, but not quite not.
Kiryu glanced at him over his shoulder before taking the offer and sitting on the edge of the bed. Majima’s mouth twitched, but didn’t quite smile as he plopped down too, stretching out behind Kiryu.
“So, ya came t’see me?” Majima rejoined, not drunk enough to forget the conversational thread.
Kiryu breathed deep and focused on a patch of carpet in front of him. “Yeah... yeah I did.” He swallowed.
The silence held for a moment, then Majima squirmed, sitting up a little more alertly. “Kiryu-chan?”
“I think I’ve made a mistake,” Kiryu finally said, licking his lips and glancing over at Majima.
He frowned. “Bout what?”
“About... everything,” Kiryu sighed, “I um...” His eyes drifted outside, unable to hold on to anything. “I, no, I’m doing this wrong.” He shifted back to the floor.
Majima sat up properly now, swinging his feet in front of him so he could sit next to Kiryu. “What is it, Kiryu-chan?” he murmured, “You can tell me, I won’t tell a soul.” He grinned a little. “I’m good at that.”
Kiryu smiled a little. “Yeah, I know. I know. I should have listened to you sooner.”
Majima nudged his shoulder. “Ya scaring me now, Kiryu-chan, c’mon, just say it.”
“P-People are crazy in love, aren’t they?” Kiryu turned to Majima helplessly.
Majima’s eye drew saucer-wide. A stuck noise came from the back of his throat.
Kiryu licked his lips and tried to keep going. “It’s just... what I just saw... I just had a fight with Mine. Daigo’s alive, by the way, he’s fine.” Majima nodded vacantly. “And that fight, it got me thinking. I can’t keep running that orphanage.” He looked away.
Majima’s sound finally restarted. “Don’t say that Kiryu-chan! Ya love that place!”
“But I can’t, can I? I’m a danger to those kids,” Kiryu frowned, “You were right, you were just right when you offered me your protection.” He looked back at Majima. “And I’m grateful, I truly am. But I can’t accept.”
Majima’s face didn’t just fall, it shattered into a thousand pieces on the ground. He dropped his head. “If that’s all you came to tell me, you needn’t have bothered,” he hissed.
“I didn’t-! Move in with me!” Kiryu gasped.
Majima stared up at him quizzically.
“I mean- me move in with, I...” Kiryu dropped his head to his hands. “I want to move here, Majima. I should never have left, I’m needed in Kamurocho and I’m needed by those kids and the obvious answer is just... to move here. Live with you. If you’ll have me.”
Kiryu could hear Majima swallow. “Ah- O-Of course, we’d be-”
Kiryu looked up at him and cringed. “No, see, I’m still not saying it right. I don’t want,” he slid a hand over Majima’s, “your family. I want you.” His fingers wrapped around Majima’s, squeezing tight. “I’ve..." He swallowed hard, looking at Majima’s shoulder and not his face. “I want...” He bit his lip.
“Kiryu-chan...” Majima whispered, bringing his free hand to Kiryu’s face, stroking the curve of his cheek just once, “will you marry me?”
Kiryu groaned something like a sob and crushed Majima to his chest. He buried his face in Majima’s shoulder so hard he didn’t feel Majima shaking for minutes as they both cried.
“Yes,” Kiryu swallowed, nodding fervently as he realized he hadn’t actually responded, “Yes, yes, I... yes.” He panted, leaning back to look at Majima.
Majima’s smile wobbled, his tears still running over, but the smile was there. “Oh, Kiryu-chan.”
Kiryu pulled him close again and ran a hand through his hair. “I’ve been real stupid, I’m so sorry.”
“Shut up,” Majima muttered, “Don’t ruin the moment. You’ve just... done more than I could ever ask for, Kiryu-chan.”
Kiryu just held him close. Majima’s heart beat close to his and it was nice to know it would never beat from afar again.
