Alexander Skarsgard's New Movie "Pillion"

Alexander Skarsgard and Harry Melling are joining forces in a forthcoming queer romance called Pillion.

The 47-year-old True Blood actor and 35-year-old Harry Potter alum will highlight a dominant/submissive relationship, and it’s shaping up to be a steamy story from director Harry Lighton.

Harry plays a character named Colin, who is enchanted by Ray, described as “the impossibly handsome leader of a motorbike club,” according to Variety.

Here’s a synopsis: “Ray uproots Colin from his dreary suburban life, introducing him to a community of kinky, queer bikers and taking all sorts of virginities along the way,” the outlet reported. “But as Colin steps deeper into Ray’s world of rules and mysteries, he begins to question whether the life of a 24/7 submissive is for him. Has he found his calling, or simply swapped one form of suffocation for another?”

He marched towards the door to his own quarters, swinging the doors open before turning on his heel. “Anyone dares to follow me or even breathe in my direction, I will break your fucking neck.” Julien spoke through gritted teeth before harshly slamming the door shut, knowing his complex would fall eerily silent for fear of pissing him off.

When researching giant dragonflies such as the one discovered in Bolsover, scientists Jon Harrison of Arizona State University and John Lighton of the University of Utah discovered that dragonflies can fly more easily in oxygen-rich air. So, it’s conceivable that bigger dragonflies, ones that wouldn’t be able to generate the lift necessary to fly in today’s air, would have soared in more highly oxygenated air. Therefore, the existence of such creatures in the Carboniferous period could be easily explained by a greater oxygen content in the air at the time.

NEW PROJECT announced for Alexander Skarsgård to star and executive produce "Pillion"

via Variety (5.8.24):

Alexander Skarsgard (“The Northman,” “Succession”) and Harry Melling (“The Pale Blue Eye,” “The Queen’s Gambit”) are set to lead the cast of “Pillion,” described as a “fun and filthy romance with heart” and being produced by multi-Oscar-winning powerhouse Element Pictures.

The film — to be launched in Cannes by Cornerstone, which is handling worldwide sales — marks the feature debut of Harry Lighton, whose short “Wren Boys” was nominated for best British short at the 2018 BAFTAs, was nominated for a BIFA and had its U.S. premiere at the Sundance Film Festival.

“Pillion” follows Colin (Melling), a weedy wallflower letting life pass him by. That is until Ray (Skarsgård), the impossibly handsome leader of a motorbike club, takes him on as his submissive. Ray uproots Colin from his dreary suburban life, introducing him to a community of kinky, queer bikers and taking all sorts of virginities along the way. But as Colin steps deeper into Ray’s world of rules and mysteries, he begins to question whether the life of a 24/7 submissive is for him. Has he found his calling, or simply swapped one form of suffocation for another? 

The film — set to shoot in the U.K. this summer — is an Element Pictures production financed by BBC Film, Picturehouse Entertainment and September Films, who will handle distribution in the U.K. and Benelux respectively. The BFI is also supporting the film. The screenplay was developed with BBC Film and is based on Adam Mars-Jones’ “Box Hill” which was the 2019 Fitzcarraldo Editions Novel Prize winner. Element Pictures’ Emma Norton, Ed Guiney and Andrew Lowe will produce together with Lee Groombridge. BBC Film’s Eva Yates, Claire Binns for Picturehouse, September Films’ Pim Hermeling and Skarsgård are executive producers. Louise Ortega is the BFI’s executive for the project. Heads of department include cinematographer Nick Morris (“Wren Boys”), production designer Francesca Massariol (“The Strays”), BIFA Award winning costume designer Grace Snell (“The Souvenir”), BIFA Award nominated composer Oliver Coates (“Aftersun”) and casting director Kahleen Crawford (“Lost Daughter”).

“Everyone at Element is so excited to help Harry Lighton bring ‘Pillion’ to life,” said Norton. “Harry is a filmmaker who is drawn to risk and fascinated by the  potential to find surprising complexity in everyday life. We love this about him and believe that ‘Pillion’ is the perfect expression of his talent, bravery and ambition.”

Shredding day!

So what I am trying to figure out today is that people who claim to be WOT fans are getting excited that Aes Sedai are going to violate the Third Oath in the TV Series?

It is very unfortunate incident that for some unknown reason we have clear description of certain event from the books where no shredding between Aes Sedai happenned for the unfortunate simple reason that it was impossible to happen. As unfortunate consequence of that impossibility no Aes Sedai was shredded. The only shredding and the only bananas that were pulled off in the c*** was done by a bunch of men with swords. Not because it was misogynistic or something but because literally no Aes Sedai could violate the Third Oath. Literally. They couldn't. By the Law of Magic. Unfortunately. So the only bonkers set pieces that we would see on television for that particular scene should be done by 40s and 50s men (and some unimportant younglings) while Aes Sedai are being incapable to participate in. This is why the c*** was so efficient and executed almost flawlessly - it was impossible for Aes Sedai to shred each other in person.

Why we are talking about women shredding each other?

Enlighten me at what point the TV series will actually start selling events from the books? We are getting PR for the 3rd season already and we still cannot behold such miracle.

P.S. Unfortunately this is not precedent as the TV series already showed violation of the Third Oath in second season which again was applauded by people who claim to know and understand how magic in WOT works.

On serious note I am well aware why this is changed. I am not mocking why this is not 1 to 1 like in the books. I am not. I just point that such blatant violation of the Third Oath is not enough for anyone to ask questions.
