Being married and working together for over 20 years is not always easy, but it's as easy as you let it! Life has thrown @drewbrophy and I some tough lessons. We survived the crash of 2008, a death in the family, business woes, Covid shutdown and loss of some big biz dreams in 2020. But, these last 6 months of Drew almost dying was a doozy. I learned that I'm a survivor, I'm strong as an OX and I can handle it. I learned that I LOVE this man so much that I would do anything for him. I learned how to be an absolute BULL DOG to fight for his best care, even though I hate confrontation. I also learned that PEOPLE ARE SO GOOD! I've always loved people, but I love them even more now that I've seen how generous, loving and compassionate the human race really is. Today I'm claiming that life is EASY FOR ME. I'm challenging myself to see all of the upsets and annoyances are actually funny and not a big deal (a printer that won't work, a microphone that died during a podcast, a lost biz deal, Drew's kidney stones, etc!) My mantra today is "LIFE IS EASY. PEOPLE ARE LOVING. I CAN LAUGH IT OFF!" I'll be muttering this to myself all day so I can get my mind to believe it and so it becomes my truth. Sort of like brainwashing myself. The more you hear something, the more you tend to believe it. So why not make it something you WANT to come true?! The Scariest Chapter

It’s been a while.. It’s nice to be back and drop my random thoughts. I miss writing though I may not be the best at it. but it doesn’t matter. It’s just good to let it out. So, a lot of things happened. Good and bad. 2021 is probably the scariest chapter of my life...but I consider it as a good thing. This is the time where I’ll know until when my limit is. Money problems has always been a concern, and now is probably the one at it’s finest. Will I make it out alive? Will it make me dangerous facing it all alone...and come out alright? We shall all find out. So help me, God!

Home today. But it was warm enough to sit in the front yard watching the square. Mug of very working class Yorkshire tea in a Sports Direct mug got for free at the end of the day at South Shields market, middle class hippy weirdo jacket that I got very cheap, puzzle book from The Works, novel from a charity shop, clouds from evaporation and condensation!, bumble bee, birdsong, excellent clouds, and superb early spring sunshine. Apart from obvious things like no pandemic, being able to see wife and child, and being able to see the sea or get on a bus without endangering myself and others, what could be better than this? I'm fortunate in so many ways. There's so much and so many people to miss. But so much remains. There were so many wonderful plans for this weekend. They all were cancelled, obviously. But life is still good today. One week since Drew came home from the hospital. Our lives have changed greatly; freedoms temporarily suspended. I thought I’d be able to go back to work when he got home, no longer needing to drive to a hospital every day. But we can’t leave him alone just yet. 🌺 We depend on things we never needed before; constant flow of oxygen, wheelchair, a walker and medicines. These foreign things replaced paddleboards and his electric bike. ☀️ We try to feel like nothing’s changed, getting back to the things we used to do, that we can still do now. I make a good meal that we enjoy at the table. We watch our favorite series at night; Yellowstone and 1883. ☀️ One of Drew’s favorite things is growing plants. He missed his backyard. I’ve always been the plant killer in the family, but while he was gone I made sure I kept everything alive for him. 🌺 It took a few days to get Drew to the backyard to be with his plants. After his fall on that first day home, I was afraid to attempt another move outside. We waited for Lynn, the Physical Therapist, to come and show me how to do it safely. I needed to get my confidence up. If Drew got hurt because of me, I wouldn’t forgive myself. ☀️ Drew got to enjoy his backyard for the first time in 4 months. He watered his plants from a wheelchair. He got a little sun on his skin. It was a beautiful day. ☀️ Enjoying the simple pleasures in life; when we can’t travel or surf or even go to work, we try to remember to enjoy the beauty in nature, food, each other. ONLINE RELEASE FOR @brokenhardened Nice guys do finish last is what the last few months taught me but on the bright side I’ll come up with some really relatable designs and to be honest probably make some decent money in the process.
