they called. the episode. SLASH FICTION. those leviathan doppelgängers were out mugging for the camera on a mallory-n-mickey bonnie-n-clyde pumpkin-n-honeybunny crime spree... for the express purpose, not only of painting a target on the winchesters' backs, but of vilifying & embarrassing them to the world. and the show didn't even have the INTEGRITY to end that cold open of "sam" and "dean" shooting up a bank with a nice lingering shot of them tongue-kissing for the news cameras?!
commit to your own fucking BIT, spn. you gift-wrapped yourself an excuse to one-up the outrageousness of your previous wincest bait and then you walked away and blueballed us? do you just NOT FUCK now. is that it. is this the exact episode that clinched your terminal diagnosis of Does Not Fuck Disease.
you called it SLASH FICTION and i'm suing for breach of contract, because what is that title if not a threat/promise to show us your plausibly-deniable plot-device simulacra of the brothers winchester rounding third base just out of frame. kripke era would've done it, and called us slurs the whole time, and none of us to this day would be able to decide what kind of hate crime it was. but s7 apparently is full of COWARDS.

I cannot be normal about season 6 Dean Winchester fighting so desperately to believe in Castiel that he’s pushing back against Sam and Bobby, the two people he trusts most. Like—that’s HUGE. That Dean, who struggles to trust people, who has been trained not to, clings so tightly to his belief in Cas, and so obviously not only feels betrayed, but hurt when Bobby and Sam are proven right. I cannot be normal about the fact that, after everything that goes down, after Cas has betrayed them and lied to them and led to evil being unleashed on the world, 7.02 Dean pulls his trenchcoat out of the lake and carries it with him as he travels, mourning his lost friend.
Dean, who has been deeply betrayed, who does not trust easily and forgives even less easily, still clings to what he has left of Cas, and still forgives him when he comes back, even before he’s fixed his mistakes.

The Lament for Castiel
For this drawing, I imagined Dean pulling Leviathan!Cas from the river and then he proceeds to hold him, heartbroken to see him in that state. For this drawing I was inspired by the wonderful painting ‘The Lament for Icarus’ by Herbert James Draper. I saw this and I immediately imagined Castiel, wasn’t sure what context to give it, but I think the Leviathan arc fits well :)

Got my sister into supernatural recently. Watched season seven for eight hours straight and I swear if it had been ten more minutes I would've started hallucinating Lucifer too.
