I need the next benoit blanc movie to take place in tennessee in winter. an appalachian woman gets to shit on the system that preys on appalachia. rian johnson gets his quota of southern accents. benoit blanc gets to canonically be best friends with dolly parton. rian if you're reading this I don't want credit just please do this.
knives out, chives out, mines out. it's perfect

[letterbox review for The Good the Bad and the Ugly (1966) by user BrainSatan saying: “On recent rewatch something that really stuck with me was Blondie and Tuco connecting over a shared sense of loneliness. While they’re at each other’s throats, they’re the closest thing either has to a friend in this world.
Tuco : That's so... even a tramp like me, no matter what happens, I know there's a brother somewhere who'll never refuse me... a bowl of soup
Blondie: And after a good meal, there’s nothing quite like a relaxing cigar..

I think letterboxd users have lost the plot tbh. Have you literally never talked to a high schooler. Am not saying every relationship between a senior and a sophomore is fine but am saying it's p normal and not the crime of high treason this person acts like it is later in the review and the problem is more in the specific dynamic, not the age gap. Like. It's literally 2 years between people who could be in the same classes together. Please talk to normal people occasionally.

i'd be so good as a side character in a horror movie. i love pdfs i love academic texts i love linguistics i love esoterica i have a wide network of internet psionic warriors who all speak different languages and have different religious specialties. a couple of my friends' grandmas do different kinds of exorcisms. my special interest is Fraud and I have an encyclopedic knowledge of spiritualist grifters. and i LOVE sticking my nose places it doesn't belong and leaving my phone and wallet at home!!!!!!! i should be running from a ghost and being analyzed by letterboxd users and instead i'm paying rent

finally finished Shinkenger today and the more I think about it, the more I feel like this was just the right choice for my first Sentai show
I've seen people saying it gets bad around episode 20 or that it's mostly just fillers (??? its an original show bby how would it have fillers </33) which did discourage me a little, but I'm SO glad I kept watching it because it had literally everything I love in a toku show, which is A LOT of silly slice of life moments that end up creating some great chemestry between characters
I can't stress enough how smooth it feels to watch it and see the way their relationships develop, everyone is just so lovable
peak fiction ngl.

Reading May December reviews is like okay do you actually think this movie about child sexual abuse is “camp” or are you only saying that because you think “camp” is synonymous with “anything a gay person makes”

It's so annoying to me when people will so easily call movies like "incel" movies or something. like it makes me feel like this

do people enjoy kenneth branagh’s poirot movies? do they make money? genuinely asking because i’ve watched all three and i’m embarrassed on his behalf. at least the last one is shot on location and it’s really hard to fuck up the look of your movie when you shoot in venice. but aside from thinking he’s not a good director, i really believe that the issue with his films is that he doesn’t lean on camp as much as he should. the films look artificial (death on the nile atrociously so) but not enough for it to elevate the work, just enough for them to look like every other franchise except for the slightly more saturated colors

[Image description: A digital painting of Brian from Brain Damage. It shows his face and cuts off at his neck. Brian is looking absently off into the distance with his mouth wide open and hands on either side of his face. One of them is pulled back to his ear, which reveals a bit of blood smeared across his cheek. His eyebrows are slightly furrowed, and his hair is messy and stuck to his scalp with sweat. There's drastic dark blue shadows cast across the piece, which melt into the similarly coloured background. Faintly, the warped words "brain damage" can be seen there in a slightly lighter blue. The colour palette for the piece is mostly blues and purples, with some red and green. There's a vague texture to the piece, with some areas of hatching and circles to add colour.]
